Last year I got ahold of the arcade PCB for a game called Biohazard: Gun survivor 2 Code Veronica. I’ve always wanted to play this game, so I decided to build the rest of the arcade cabinet.

It’s been a while, but I have an update!

The game runs!!! I still have to build out all the controls for the game, and a physical cabinet to house the game, but it runs!!!!!

the age differences in the critical role cast are funny because you have matthew mercer (b. 1982) and marisha ray (b. 1989), both of which are young (comparatively) enough to lived through the fourth and fifth console generations and are fully locked into how how early 2000s and 2010s gaming worked, what the latest consoles are now, and matt even used to be a QA tester on video games.

and then we've got sam riegel (b. 1976), who probably last touched an arcade cabinet in 1993, trying to play super smash brothers ultimate:

Downside to playing Stardew on mobile the fucking auto attack will sense anything within 5 damn meters of where i;m standing and attack blindly when I’m trying to TELEPORT HOME

Love that this control panel from Virtuosity (1995) has a Logitech "Cyberman" joystick and an NES controller just sort of glued onto it

Same prop would show up again, a year later, in the Wayans brothers spoof movie, Don't be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood

I assumed it'd been constructed for it as an intentional joke, since the NES controller is so obvious, so it's funny that they actually got it secondhand from a "serious" movie
