If you're still doing the character opinion bingo... N'Doul, please? :D
Tumblr media
The N'Doul fight is an all-timer in the series for sure and a pretty stark contrast with later Stand battles, where 90% of the challenge was figuring out how the Stand works so they can counter it. Geb is as simple as Stands can get, conceptually, it’s major advantage being how it benefits from the terrain and N'Doul's own cleverness. He's an excellent introduction to Egypt as the place where shit is gonna get real for the Crusaders, almost taking out the entire party and even disabling Kakyoin all the way to the finale, only beaten by the recent addition of Iggy into the mix. He's a very solid villain and an optimal choice as a entry-level showcase of "this is what a JJBA fight looks like", not surprising that this was the first fight to be adapted into animation as well.
N'Doul and most of the other 9 Glory Gods benefit a lot from Part 3 being saturated with colorful one-note baddies for the Crusaders to routinely beat, because it does wind up making him stick out all the more with his taciturn, focused personality, perfectly befitting a fight that’s entirely based on tense silence punctuated by sudden quick viciousness. A lot of what makes N'Doul memorable is because of that contrast between him and most of the other minions of DIO personality-wise as well as visually, because he's designed to be attractive in a way comparable to Kakyoin, and that throws off your brain a little when you're used to the Crusaders dealing with terribly-dressed sneering cartoons.
To a better extent than Hol Horse, N'Doul wouldn't look at all out of place among the Crusaders as an ally. I’d even say that, in a way, N’Doul reads to me now as a prototype for Enrico Pucci, in the sense of him being this solemn, driven young man with a tragic background driven into DIO’s arms by a need for salvation, and having a number of similarities with the heroes that only serve to punctuate the tragedy that is their suicidal allegiance to evil. I think it’s something that Araki’s been flirting with since Bruford in Part 1 and that saw it’s real potential taking form with Pucci, with N’Doul as the important middle step as someone who was driven to evil out of loneliness and lack of purpose and despair and being manipulated by someone who knew how to prey on his basic human needs. It’s with characters like N’Doul and Wammu that you see Araki first experimenting with that moral greyness he’d eventually make much more extensive use of as the series went along.
Tumblr media
What I like most about N'Doul, though, is what he does for the narrative as an enemy for Jotaro to overcome in particular. As the Samurai to Jotaro’s Cowboy, the two get to have a wonderful showdown moment befitting that vibe, and more so than that, I think N’Doul works great as a showcase for Jotaro’s character development because he’s an enemy that Jotaro ends up getting emotionally invested in, an enemy that does go some way towards changing him. More specifically, I think of N’Doul as kind of the benchmark for Jotaro’s growth, the point that fully marks how Jotaro stopped being “just” the next JoJo and fully cemented himself as Jotaro Kujo, the iconic hero in his own right.
This probably has more to do with Araki’s changing tastes and likely not intentional but, I’ve been rewatching Part 3 recently and it just never stops feeling weird hearing Jotaro be called “JoJo” for much of the beginning. Obviously the series needs to keep the JoJo name going, and we’d sat through two other sagas starring guys everyone called JoJo, but with Jotaro, it just constantly feels discomforting, impersonal even. It’s a name that nobody actually close to him calls him, tied to a bloodline he has no connection to until that connection starts killing his mom. He gets called JoJo by his annoying classmates and his distant grandfather and the Crusaders he barely knows at first, and as the part progresses and they become closer and we spend more time with Jotaro, everyone calls him by his actual name. But at first, that name is an antiquated leftover, something that just points to Jotaro as just The Next JoJo and not his own person, a guy who’s just part of the story without belonging in it, if that makes sense.
Because Jotaro’s initially defined a lot by that distance between him and the greater history of conflict he’s getting dragged into. He didn’t grow up with Dio or stories about him, he didn’t take up martial arts to save the world, and unlike with Joseph, the vampire asshole hurting his family didn’t even have the decency to show up at his front door first before trying to kill him. He was just a high school student with an attitude problem one day, and then out of nowhere he gets “possessed” by an unfathomably dangerous thing that pushes him to lock himself up in jail for everyone else’s sake, and next thing he knows, he has to travel across the world with his grandpa and some other guys he barely knows, avoiding superpowered murderers every hour of every day with no rest, so he can go kill some evil thing he didn’t even know existed, because otherwise his mom’s gonna die.
And it’s through the course of Part 3 that we see him grow as a person and as a fighter, grow closer to the Crusaders who all start to know him better than anyone else ever did. We see him become the guy that evildoers around the world fear, we see how he owns that legacy he has within the Joestar bloodline and the destiny that comes with it, and in the following parts Jotaro takes over Joseph’s role as the main tether to it that everyone else has, older and more responsible and carrying that weight on his shoulders (for better or worse and, by the time of Part 6, definitely for the worse).
Tumblr media
And I think it is N’Doul who really starts this transition for him on-screen because of how he shakes things up, not merely because he’s more than just another bloodthirsty maniac among the dozens Jotaro’s beaten up over the past days, but because he’s someone so devoted to that evil thing that he kills himself in front of Jotaro. Jotaro had seen people die, he’d seen DIO’s subordinates be offed in front of him, but this is the first time he sees someone commit actual suicide in front of him over DIO, and he’s powerless to save him as he did for Kakyoin and Polnareff (while this is probably not intentional, the fact that Star Platinum exhibited enough strength to smash car-sized diamonds and punch holes straight through DIO definitely makes it seem like Jotaro was pulling his punches quite a bit over the part)
Jotaro meets N’Doul, a man with virtues and qualities that Jotaro recognizes enough to feel some kind of kinship towards him, and he has to watch that man skewer his brains out in front of him using his own Stand. We don’t really get much talkative introspection out of Jotaro in general because of the way he’s written but, prior to the N’Doul fight, the only other time we’d been allowed enough into Jotaro’s headspace was a brief moment in the Death 13 arc where Jotaro reflects that he’s 4.000 miles from home and it’s been 4 weeks and he’s getting worried they won’t make it in time. As in, his driving motivation still remains just getting to DIO in time to save his mom. Obviously not something anyone can criticize him for worrying about but,
Tumblr media
In the aftermath of the N’Doul fight, we see Jotaro thinking about DIO specifically, really the first time we see him even address him proper after the beginning where he doesn’t even think DIO exists. DIO is weighing on his mind, he wonders what kind of man is he, the kind of power he has over people’s minds, what other horrors he’s gonna throw their way. He gets emotional yelling at a dying N’Doul and asking him to tell him why, why are you killing yourselves for that man, why is this worth dying for to you people, and N’Doul uses his dying breath to open up about his background and power, and give him the Evil Savior speech. And I think this is kind of when Jotaro finally internalizes what kind of power DIO has, something that makes him existentially monstrous and dangerous on a bigger level than just the things he’s done to his family and friends, or to countless others before and now, or that he’s causing to his mom right this second, or even that he’s done to the fanatics under his thrall he’d sent to die fighting them.
Enya was one thing, and all the Crusaders were pretty shaken about that even then, but this? That’s the kind of thing that gets Jotaro to make a grave, because there’s nothing else he could possibly do, for a guy he’d just seen rip off the faces of innocent people and blind his friend. For a guy that Jotaro didn’t want to kill, a guy who really, really didn’t have to die, a guy who could have been something else, something better, really just something at all, other than just another corpse with DIO’s name on it.
I think of this as the moment where Jotaro truly internally grows into the hero of the story, as the only one who could stop DIO. Who came to understand DIO a little better than the others. Jotaro grows to be DIO’s nemesis not just because he’s equally powerful, or equally determined, or better at stacking up bullshit tricks to win fights, but because he refuses for even a second to entertain DIO, because he'd seen again and again the horrors DIO can wreak if he gets even an inch worth of breathing room (and it STILL doesn’t stop Jotaro from falling for DIO’s bullshit and almost dying in DIO’s World). There is no history between the two as there was with Jonathan, nothing other than savagery and hatred. DIO’s been shitting over everything and everyone for years and it just so happens that Jotaro was given a mop to clean it up. Jotaro was the enemy DIO deserved.
At no point did Jotaro get a choice in the matter, when it came to entering this journey, it was either this or sitting by watching his family die. But here, we see how personally he’ staking it to oppose DIO for reasons other than his mom’s predictament. Iit’s also important that, immediately following N’Doul’s burial and Jotaro’s thinking, we get the scene where he bonds with Iggy, saying he’s not mad for Iggy having screwed him over during the fight and that he doesn’t blame Iggy for being pissed that he got dragged away from home to fight in the desert, and extending the gum as an olive branch, a pretty far cry from what the self-proclaimed “nobody ever said Jotaro Kujo was nice" guy from early in the part would have done (also not an inaccurate way to describe what Jotaro himself went through, no wonder he’s the first to sympathize with Iggy).
Though his trials were countless, it was N’Doul that most prepared Jotaro mentally for the battle against DIO and his unending evil, not just in Cairo, but in the following decades. And I think of N’Doul’s burial as the moment that made Jotaro choose, of his own volition, to step up into his role as DIO’s Enemy, for all the good that would do him. Maybe evil needs a savior, but so do those who need to be saved from it.
I realize I spent most of this post about N’Doul talking about Jotaro but honestly I do think of that as a mark of him being a great villain, I think he brought out something real special out of Jotaro as a character during that fight.

Dying in their arms
Fandoms: Resident Evil & Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
Ship: Jotaro x Chris
Word Count: 2,374
Warnings: Small description of violence and mention of death
Summary: Jotaro comes back to his hotel room, only to discover that Dio is somehow alive and standing in his room...or is he?
A/N: So this is a crossover ship that me and one of my friends came up with for an rp. This is the bad ending of one of our rps for said crossover. This one is purely just self indulgence, but for those of you that want to read this admittedly weird crossover anyways, I hope you enjoy! The only thing that you really have to know is that Chris is a stand user. His stand is literally just a werewolf, but instead of it being a separate being like normal stands are, he turns into his. Think of Diego turning into a dinosaur. It's like that.
Timeline wise, this takes place after Code Veronica (resident evil) and during part 4 (jjba)
You can also find this on Ao3!!!
It turned out to have not been such a great idea going after that stand user all by himself. It turned out that one user turned into actually being two, and Jotaro was only able to stop one of them, while the second one had run away before he could catch him. As irritating as it was to have one get away, he knew better than to try his luck to go after him. No. It would be smarter to go back to the hotel room and get Chris to help. After all, Chris’ stand, Hells Bells, could sniff and track down wherever the second stand user had gone to.
Though as he entered the room, he had the sudden feeling of dread creeping up the back of his spine. Something felt off and had him on high alert as Star Platinum manifested behind him. He looked around the room and discovered that Chris was nowhere to be seen. “Chris?” he called out cautiously to him.
The door to the bathroom then swung open and suddenly, Jotaro was overcome with a painful splitting headache that had him hissing as he clutched his head in his hands.
“Jotaro?” He heard Chris’ voice as a hand touched his shoulder. “Are you okay?”
When he looked up, Jotaro expected to find his boyfriend standing in front of him, but he didn’t. Who he found standing in front of him was much much worse.
Dio stood before him with that same proud, overconfident smirk that Jotaro always remembered him having. He was even dressed in the same exact outfit as well. It was as if he had traveled back in time to that very night they faced off. Jotaro would have probably believed that he did, except for the fact that they weren’t in Egypt and were clearly standing in the middle of his and Chris’ hotel room in Morioh.
Jotaro jerked away with a shout, his eyes blown wide with confusion and fear, before they were overcome with pure hot anger. “You’re dead,” he whispered.
“Wha–”
Star’s fist came down quick as lightning before Dio had the chance to defend himself, sending him crashing backwards into the opposite wall with a loud crash.
For a split second, Jotaro’s vision flickered and he saw a glimpse of Chris in place of Dio, but then the headache came back and when he looked up, Dio was there again. “You’re supposed to be dead!”
---
Chris had just gotten out of the shower when he heard the door to the room open, then close. He then quickly got dressed as he heard Jotaro call out his name. As he pushed open the door to greet Jotaro, he discovered him hunched over clutching his forehead as if he was in pain. “Jotaro? Are you okay?” he asked and gently placed his hand on his shoulder.
When his boyfriend looked up at him, he had recoiled back with a shout and an intense look of fear in his eyes that Chris had only seen a few times before. His eyebrows knitted together in concern, but before he could ask him what was wrong, he heard Jotaro mumble out a quiet, “You’re dead.”
Chris hadn’t even had time to see the hit coming before a powerful purple fist collided with his chest, sending him flying backwards. He crashed painfully into the wall, knocking a huge hole in it in the process. He was extremely disoriented as he wheezed and coughed. It felt like all the air had been punched out of his lungs, which in a way, it kinda did.
“You’re supposed to be dead!”
“Jotaro, what the hell are you talking about?” Chris coughed out, holding his hurt ribs as he stumbled up to his feet.
He was met with nothing, but a deep dark anger burning bright in his boyfriend’s eyes. He didn’t know what was going on, but it wasn’t anything good and he could recognize that he was in danger. Chris’ stand began to manifest as his body began snapping and contorting until Hells Bells appeared in his place. The large werewolf-like stand wasted no time in busting through the door in an attempt to get away from his attacker.
Jotaro and Star roared in unison as the stand slammed into the other one and the two gappled with each other in the hotel hallway, both trying to get the upperhand in the struggle. Star Platinum and Hells Bells never fought before and both seemed almost evenly matched in strength. But then– “Star Platinum, the world!”
One moment, Hells was fighting for his life against the other stand, and then before he could even blink, he was crashing through a window with a loud pained yelp you’d expect from a hurt wolf. Chris had, of course, known about Jotaro’s ability to stop time, but he had never experienced it first-hand in a fight. It was absolutely terrifying. He felt shards of glass cut into him, but he had suffered a lot worse and Hells Bells was very sturdy and resilient. He picked himself up and forced himself to run. He didn’t know or understand what was going on. Jotaro never acted like this before. He had to put as much distance between them as possible before he was killed.
“DIO!” Jotaro shouted after him, wasting no time in hopping over the broken windowsill, ignoring the feeling of glass cutting into his palms, and took off in a sprint in the direction that the vampire had gone in. His head felt like he was in some sort of daze and wasn’t able to realize that what he was seeing wasn’t real.
Hells picked up on Jotaro screaming out the name of their long dead foe and Chris felt true fear run down his spine. If Jotaro thought he was Dio, then he was in even worse danger than he previously had thought.
He tore down the street, ignoring all the horrified screams of the people that he passed, who all jumped and ran out the way to avoid the giant werewolf. Unlike most stands, non stand users could unfortunately see Chris’ stand, which was why he usually was also so careful to not bring him out in a very public place, but he wasn’t given much of a choice right now.
He didn’t really know where he was running to, just so long as he put enough distance between him and Jotaro until he could figure out what to do.
Luck was on his side as he spotted both Josuke and Okuyasu who both were on the other side of the street running towards him. “Chris, what the hell man?!”
Hells stopped dead in his tracks and slowly, Chris shifted back which had taken a lot of him just by itself. He stumbled, but was then caught by the two others who helped keep him steady. “What’s going on? Why are you–” Josuke began to question, before he cut him off.
“It’s Jotaro.” He coughed out through the aching pain in his ribs from where he had been punched. “I don't know what’s going on with him, but he thinks I’m an old enemy and is now trying to kill me!”
Josuke quickly glanced around, but didn’t see Jotaro in sight. “Could it be a stand?”
“Possibly– LOOK OUT!” Chris tackled the two teenagers down as a car was thrown through the air at them.
At the end of the street stood Jotaro and Star, looking like he had gone absolutely mad. Blood was dripping from his hands from where he no doubt cut himself on the window, his white jacket was gone and the black turtleneck he wore was ripped in some places. His hat was gone, leaving his hair a wild mess that framed his shell shocked face as his intense gaze focused on Chris. “Get away from them! This is between me and you, Dio!”
“You two get the hell out of here!” Chris shouted at Josuke and Okuyasu as the three of them scrambled back up to their feet. He could feel his heart pounding inside his chest as he met Jotaro’s gaze. It took a lot to scare Chris and right now? He was scared shitless as he looked into those cold empty eyes of the man he loved, who looked like he would tear through the entire world just to get to Chris. He was terrified not only for himself, but for the two teenagers that were now about to get caught in their crossfire. He risked taking his eyes off of Jotaro to look over at the two. “If this is a stand, go and try to see if you can find the user. They have to be somewhere around here.”
Josuke looked hesitant at first, but then nodded before running off in search for a stand user. As much as neither of the two wanted to leave Chris behind, the only way they could really help him was by putting a stop to whoever was doing this to Jotaro.
Jotaro and Chris stood alone in the street about ten feet apart from each other. There was a boiling hatred in Jotaro’s expression as he glared down at Chris. “You’re not getting away from me this time.”
Chris stood unwavering, forcing himself to take a deep breath and get a handle on himself. “I am not Dio.” he stressed, his fists clenching at his sides for a moment, before he released the tight grip and took a slow half step forward. “Dio is dead. You made sure of that back in Egypt when we were teenagers. We both saw his body turn to ash in the sun, remember?” He was trying desperately to get him to remember and understand. “Jotaro…please, it’s me. It’s Chris. Whatever is happening, whatever you are seeing, it isn’t real.”
“I can’t believe you really thought you could ever kill me” Dio sneered, his fist clenching at his side.
Jotaro watched the vampire carefully as he had taken a half step closer to him. He wasn’t sure what Dio was planning to do, but he was getting ready to strike or defend himself at any possible moment.
“You Joestars are all pathetic!” Dio continued with a mocking laugh. “Your great great grandfather stood no chance against me, what made you believe that you did? Your little dog, Chris, couldn’t even land a single scratch on me before I snapped his neck and put an end to his meaningless existence.”
Jotaro faltered and went still as his anger temporarily was replaced with crushing dread. “Chris…” he whispered, his voice quiet and filled with pain.
“Yes, it’s Chris.”
“Yes, he’s dead.”
Jotaro’s steps faltered and he felt his eyes burn with tears as an indescribable amount of rage and grief overwhelmed him. He looked back up at Dio, at the monster that killed his boyfriend, and let out an anguished scream as he lunged forward, using Star to punch straight through Dio’s chest. He felt a sickening satisfaction as Star withdrew his arm that was now coated in the blood of his enemy and watched as Dio’s body fell to the ground.
“Jo- Jo…” Dio coughed out, weakly reaching a hand up towards him. Jotaro knelt down to his level. He half expected for Dio to make a lame attempt at a strike against him, but what he didn’t expect was for Dio to reach up at his forehead and pull out a flesh bud.
It wasn’t until Jotaro had knelt down that Chris had been able to see the cause of all of Jotaro’s bizarre actions. A flesh bud had been embedded into his forehead, which was covered up by all his hair. It took all the strength that he didn’t even have in order to reach up and rip the flesh bud out of him, then crush it in his hand. His vision was going out of focus, but he could see the second realization had struck Jotaro.
He felt himself be scooped up and cradled in his lover’s arms. “No! No No– NO CHRIS!”
Chris cupped his cheek, accidentally smearing blood on him in the process, and quietly shushed him. He wanted to say to him that it was alright, that he forgave him, and not to blame himself. It wasn’t him. Chris knew that Jotaro would never hurt him. But every attempt that he made to speak, he only ended up choking and coughing up blood as it had started to fill up his lungs. Breathing felt impossible and soon he began to choke and drown in his own blood. He closed his eyes and leaned into Jotaro, allowing the sound of his racing heartbeat to gently lull him as his eyes began to shut.
“Chris! Chris, hold on! Josuke can–” Jotaro broke out into a sob as he tried to stand up while holding Chris. He couldn’t break down, no. Chris was going to be alright. He was going to get him to Josuke and he would fix him as good as new. He wasn’t going to lose him. Not like this. It couldn’t end like this.
Even when he felt Chris go limp in his arms, he continued running to find Josuke, because maybe there still was time. There had to be more time.
Jotaro soon spotted Josuke, who took one look at them before breaking out into a full on sprint until he reached Jotaro and Chris. Crazy Diamond appeared in an instant and with a single touch, all of the injuries on Chris disappeared. There was not a single trace of the fight on him save for the blood stains on his clothes.
Yet he didn’t wake back up. He remained motionless and when Josuke felt for a pulse, he found none.
“Jotaro-”
“Try it again.” The older man said, his voice barely above a whisper.
“Jotaro, I can’t-”
“Try it again!”
Josuke tried to heal Chris over and over again, yet the results remained the same no matter how much he tried.
Jotaro shook as he clung onto Chris’s dead body and buried his face into Chris’ chest with a loud, wrecked out sob.
He had killed him.
This was all his fault.

High School Sweet Hearts
This is a commission for the lovely @crypticspacecat
Summary: Angeline exchange student who transfers to the same high school as Jotaro. What she didn't know was he had his eye on her since she walked into the building. When she started talking to a male classmate she's been crushing on, Jotaro’s infuriated. He's already claimed her, didn't she know that? He devises a plan. He bribes his fangirls into leading her into an abandoned classroom where he will show her who she belongs to.
Word count: 1,000
Not many people could catch Jotaro Kujo’s eye nobody had ever caught his eye before, especially in the way Angeline had. What caught his eye first was her hair, he’d never seen anything like in real life, he wanted to feel it and play with her curls, but he had seen how his classmates touched it despite her telling them not to. It pissed him off a lot, their dirty hands all over her beautiful hair, she needed to speak up and be more assertive in his opinion. He could be assertive for her, yeah, that sounded good. Beauty like her needed to be protected, he knew that very well, and he could do that for her it was the least he could do. No matter how hard Jotaro tried to get close to Angeline she would always run away, maybe it was the hoard of girls that constantly swarmed him, he knew he was intimidating but he wasn’t that bad in his opinion, and those girls liked him so why didn’t Angeline? It baffled him to no end, every other girl would give their left foot to just have him look at them for more than five seconds but Angeline? No, not Angeline, that girl, and he needed more of that. He was pondering all of this while walking down the hall, when he heard a faint sound, a weightless melodie caught his attention, he followed the resonant sound until he came to the music room and peeked in.
Angeline sat focused on the bass guitar, Jotaro smirks, ‘Bingo,’ he thought as he listened. He sighed, wishing he could join her but he knew he’d only scare her off, so he’d just listen for now. “That was odd.” She said to herself, as she put her bass away, seeing the hulking form of Jotaro lurking outside of the music room was odd in many ways. School was technically over but she had asked to stay behind to practice a bit, she wasn’t expecting Jotaro to be hanging around school too. Wouldn’t he avoid school as much as possible? He is a delinquent after all, but maybe he does care about his education, either way, Angeline wouldn’t know. As she left the building she ran into another boy, he wasn’t watching where he was going. “Oh! I’m so so sorry!” The boy said while frantically bowing. “It’s okay, nobody got hurt.” She said the boy was admittedly cute. “R-really? I am sorry about that. I’m Taro by the way.” Then he was blushing now, only making him even cuter. “I’m Angeline.” She said with as much confidence as she could muster, she was nervous even though he had been the one to run into her. “Well, it’s nice to meet you, Angeline! You have amazing hair by the way.” He said happily. “Oh thank you.” She was starting to like him.
Jotaro had been watching the exchange the whole time, and he was less than pleased with what he saw, that punk should’ve watched where he was going and he should know that Angeline was his. Hadn’t he already staked his claim? He hadn’t, so he’d have to show everyone who she belonged to tomorrow. The next day Jotaro was watching Angeline’s every move, waiting for the perfect moment to enact his plan. As much as he hated his fangirls, he decided to put them to use. A bribe of eating lunch with them and they’d lure Angeline into an abandoned classroom so he could confess his love to her. In all honesty, he was getting antsy, thoughts of her, and that boy kept invading his mind, and he hated it. He couldn't stand the thought of her being with that thing, it just pissed him off. Maybe he should beat the shit out of him later, yeah, that’ll make him feel better. Everyone could tell Jotaro was in a weird mood, some would say he’s happy while others would say they’d never seen him angrier, either way even the teachers decided it would be a good idea to avoid him. When the time finally came Jotaro waited with bated breath as his fangirls brought Angeline to him, ‘That was easy enough,’ he thought as she was pushed through the door by his hoard of fangirls. “Um, t-they just said y-you wanted t-to talk to me?” Angeline was terrified of what was about to happen to her. “Yes,” that did not help her calm down at all, “You shouldn’t have been talking to that boy when you belong to me.” Now she was worried, what did he mean, it didn’t matter she had to put on a brave face. “What do you mean?” She barely was able to keep the shake out of her voice, while Jotaro looked very annoyed. “I. Like. You.” He punctuated each word with a step forward until he was in front of Angeline, who was about to pass out from stress, leaning forward until he was face to face with her, he smiled.
Jotaro Kujo had a pretty smile, which was Angeline’s first thought, even though the rest of him was scary and rough his smile was soft and sweet. But there seemed to be something slightly sinister behind it, or maybe that was the fact that she had been forced into a room with a man who said she belonged to him, either way, she knew she had to answer him. “Thank you.” Silence. Did she really just say thank you?! Jotaro smirked pulled her in close and kissed her. There was a multitude of gasps as many jealous eyes watched the display. When he pulled away Angeline was speechless, the kiss was so soft and she could feel the love in it, it was nice. “I-I think I like you too.” She stuttered out, Jotaro smiled at that. “Good.” Was all he said as he took her hand and lead her out of the room. “You’re with me now so don’t ever worry.”

Ok I'm going to come right out and say it.
Joestars are the real antagonists of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
With the rare exception of Dio Brando and his special brand of bullshitrety, JoJo villains don't really present much of an impending existential threat to the world. It's these damn Joestars who get antsy every so often and decide to dive into some drama just for the shits of it, and wind up destroying countless lives in the process.
The Pillar Men? Took a 2000 year nap, just wanted to see the sun again, but because of some ancient grudge those Hamon-using bitches had, Kars had to watch his whole damn family get wiped out before he got punted into the sun. I mean, the very first thing they did when they woke up was kill a room full of Nazis. They're legit. But oh, we must protect the Red Stone Of Aja, c'mon Joseph my boy, let's go commit a string of murders.
Yoshikage Kira? 33 years old. His house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and he is not married. He works as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and he gets home every day by 8 PM at the latest. He doesn't smoke, but he occasionally drinks. He's in bed by 11 PM, and makes sure he gets eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, he usually has no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, he wakes up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. He was told there were no issues at his last check-up. I'm trying to explain that he's a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. He takes care not to trouble himself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause him to lose sleep at night. That is how he deals with society, and he knows that is what brings him happiness. Although, if he were to fight, he wouldn't lose to anyone. But in flies Jotaro Kujo to upset the Joestar Family Tree, and bingo bango one ambulance later, down goes Kira.
Diavolo? Literally just vibin. Just wanted to be the best mob boss he could be. Drugs are bad, mmkay. But it's the mob. They do bad things, Bruno Bucciarati. Diavolo seemed to run a pretty tight ship, nobody was complaining. Sure he could've paid La Squadra better, but was that worth destroying all of Rome and murdering the boss over? Was it, Giorno I Have A DreamTM Giovanna?? WAS IT?
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is really the story of a bloodthirsty family hell bent on causing trouble wherever they can find it. And that's the tea.

Let Down Your Crystal Walls

Chapter 3: Tongue Tower Twister
Well, being on a plane was certainly a lot more lackluster than she realized. After the tense car ride and ticket-checking, the group settled themself comfortably on the plane. Kyogen had managed to snag a window seat next to Avdol and was staring out the said window at the clouds passing by. Jotaro and Joseph were napping in the seats behind her and Kakyoin behind them. Avdol was reading a book and Kyogen lamented not bringing any with her.
Avdol piped up, not turning from his book. “You have a very unique Stand, Wind-san.”
Kyogen glanced at him. “So do you, Avdol-sama.”
The male closed his book and retrieved something from his pocket “You don’t have to be so formal, Avdol is fine. But as for appearances, Stands come in all sorts of different shapes and sizes. I’ve never seen two alike Stands before.”
Kyogen hummed thoughtfully and started comparing her Stand’s feature to the others that she glimpsed. Sharpnote seemed to be the only one with extremely simplified facial features, its eyes being upright rectangles and mouth being a simple triangle, incapable of displaying any facial movements. Compared to Star Platinum who looked like a human, minus the flowing hair, purple body, and the chiseled muscles of a Greek god. “Yesterday was my first time seeing any Stands besides Sharpnote.”
“That’s interesting... Stand users are attracted to each other, and Sharpnote is pretty friendly too.”
Kyogen shrugged. “That’s just the way he always is.”
“Hm. While Stands are influenced by your fighting spirit, they also act out based on your innermost emotions.”
Kyogen glanced at him. What was the man trying to get at? “And?”
“Nothing, it’s just you’re very different from your Stand.”
She frowned and stared at the airplane seat in front of her. “Some scars run deep.”
“I see. You are a girl of mystery, Wind. If you would indulge me for a moment, I would like to try and read your fortune.” He presented the pack of Tarot cards to Kyogen.
Kyogen huffed but reached for it. Just as she was about to pull out a card, the plane rumbled and she looked up. A buzzing was heard echoing throughout the cabin. She paused and handed the cards back to Avdol as a huge beetle drifted into the aisle she and the group were at. Jotaro was the first to get out of his seat, being the closest to the bug.
“Be careful,” Avdol warned Jotaro as the teen got ready to catch it. “I’ve heard there is a user of a bug Stand that likes to rip out the tongues of its victims.”
The teen didn’t reply. “Star Platinum!” Jotaro called, the spirit manifesting and taking a swipe at the bug, who dodged.
“I-I can’t believe it!” Avdol exclaimed. “It’s faster than Star Platinum, whose speed and precision are such that it can grasp bullets!”
That put Kyogen on high alert as she stood up from her seat. This was not good.
“It has to be a stand,” Kakyoin muttered. “That bug is a stand! Where is he? Where is he hiding?”
Kyogen scanned the plane warily. She wished she had her knives with her, but they were packed away in the bag under the chair.
The bug hovered above them and began to foam green froth at the mouth. “It’s attacking!” Kakyoin yelled.
A slimy needle erupted out of its mouth and hit Star Platinum’s hand. It drew blood and the protrusion retreated back. Kujo had a wound on his hand mirroring his Stand.
The protrusion launched forward again.
“Jotaro!”
“Jojo!”
A crackle filled the air. The needle was hovering three inches from Star Platinum's open mouth. A wall of crystal held it back, shielding Jotaro and his stand from more damage. Sharpnote revealed itself from behind the wall and Kyogen twitched. She barely knew these people, and yet...
Joseph said, “Sharpnote was able to stop it from hitting Star Platinum’s mouth but…”
“Since it tried to bite off Jotaro’s Stand’s tongue…” Avdol murmured. “It must be him! The Tower Card of the Tarot… The one that depicts a Stand suggesting destruction, calamity, the end of a journey, Tower of Gray!”
What?
“The Tower of Gray commits mass murders, making them look like accidents,” the fortune-teller said, placing the heel of his palm over his forehead. “The airplane crash that happened last year in England, causing 300 deaths, is thought to have been its work. I had heard rumors, but it seems he’s working with Dio!”
Star Platinum reared back and soared over Sharpnote’s wall, unleashing a barrage of punches and screaming ‘ora’ as it aimed for the beetle. Or, where the beetle was, as its mouth needle broke free off the crystals just in time to dodge the attacks.
“I-It’s so fast!” Avdol stuttered. “It dodged all of that, not only the single hand but the two-fisted rush of blows!”
Kyogen heard laughter as she called Sharpnote back, the wall of crystals shrinking as the Stand disappeared. “Even if you were to have ten guns shoot bullets from one centimeter away, they would not be able to touch my Stand!” The mysterious user said. “And you couldn’t kill my Stand with a bullet anyway.” A new needle emerged from the beetle’s mouth.
Strangely, Kyogen noted that all the other passengers were still asleep despite the racket they were making. She couldn’t find a single soul who was awake. The beetle disappeared and reappeared behind a man, laughter emitting from it as it slowly dropped behind him. Kyogen let out a hoarse cry as it erupted from his jaw and plowed through the other passengers in front.
Blood spurted from them and Kyogen flinched when some splattered near her, thankfully stopped by the wall of crystals and her Stand. She stared in shock at the scene in front of her. The beetle had all the corpses’ tongues on its mouth needle. Bile rose up from her throat and Kyogen clasped a hand to her mouth. She could still see it when she shut her eyes, dark, crimson blood, and limp, bloodied flesh.
The voice cackled. “Bingo!” He cheered. “Got their tongues! And my objective…” The beetle flew to the wall and began writing on it with the blood. “Massacre!”
Kyogen had to squeeze her eyes shut to prevent another bout of nausea, trying to preserve the remnants of her composure. She was beginning to hate planes as well and it seemed like Sharpnote shared her sentiment, shifting back and forth tensely next to her.
From beside her, Avdol yelled, “I will burn it to death! Magician’s Red!”
A flaming, bird-headed behemoth emerged from Avdol, ready to fight. They were held back by Kakyoin. “Wait!” He called. “Wait a moment, Avdol!”
The heat died down as Avdol paused and the Stand was brought back to him. A rickety old man straightened from his chair, rubbing his eyes. “It’s so noisy,” he grumbled. “I wonder what all the ruckus is.”
Kyogen and the group tensed as the beetle floated closer to him. “Sir,” she began cautiously. “Please do not move out of your seat.”
The old man didn’t seem to be paying attention to her and stood up. “I guess I’ll go to the bathroom…” he said. He paused and Kyogen grimaced as he swiped at the blood on the wall. “What’s with this slimy stuff? M…A…” The rest was cut off by a scream as he began backing away from the wall. “I-Is it blood?!? Blood!”
Kakyoin moved as the man got closer to him. “Atemi,” the male said as he struck the man in the back of his head. Said man promptly collapsed. Sharpnote moved beside him and carefully dragged the old man away from the aisle. “We have to defeat it before the other passengers panic. But, Avdol, an active Stand like your Magician’s Red could make the plane explode. And Jojo, if your power were to put a hole in the fuselage, it’d be a catastrophe. My quiet Stand,” Kakyoin whirled to face the beetle behind him, “Hierophant Green is most suited to defeating it.”
“Heh, heh, heh. Kakyoin Noriaki, eh? I’ve heard all about you from Lord Dio. Stop. If you know that your Stand is quiet, there’s no point in challenging me. You cannot catch me with your speed.”
“You think so?” Kakyoin asked. His Stand appeared next to him with its hands facing each other, one upright and one pointing down. “Emerald Splash!” Kakyoin called. Green liquid burst forth and exploded from the Stand. Kyogen’s eyes widened when she saw the glimmering emeralds in it. Sharpnote had an attack very similar to Hierophant Green’s Emerald Splash, although it had some changes.
The beetle had no trouble dodging it, so Kakyoin yelled for Emerald Splash a second time. He would need help. Sharpnote clunked his way in front of her and tilted his head back, waiting for instruction. Kyogen nodded and whispered, “Diamond Rain.”
The Stand nodded and turned back. Sharpnote inhaled. A burst glittering crystals exploded from the Stand’s mouth, spreading across the area where the beetle was. It wasn’t prepared for the sudden attack from a different angle and got nicked a few times. However, the insect righted itself and continued dodging. “Fools!” It cried. “You seem to think you can hit me if you fire enough shots, but you’ve barely hit me at all!”
“This isn’t good! Even with Wind’s help, it’s still dodging with speed!” Avdol cried.
The needle protrusion shot from its mouth and cracked open Hierophant’s mouthpiece, blood emerging from both the Stand and Kakyoin himself.
“Kakyoin!”
Said boy fell to his knees with his Stand and Kyogen dove to prevent him from hitting the floor. She grunted as most of his bulk rested on her and thanked the fact that his stand was incorporeal at the moment. Kakyoin propped himself up with her and Sharpnote’s help.
“My speed is on an entirely different level!” The beetle buzzed above them. “You’re way too slow to get a bingo! And Kakyoin…” It zoomed closer and foam began to froth at the corner of its mouth. “With my next attack, I’ll stab your Stand’s tongue with this Tower Needle and rip it out! And then I’ll rip out the stupid girl’s tongue!”
No, Kyogen gritted her teeth. She wasn’t going to allow it to touch Kakyoin nor his Stand. “Diamond Rain,” she muttered. Sharpnote inhaled and launched the attack again, chunks of crystals shooting at the beetle.
“Don’t you get it??? Once this rips your tongue out, you’ll go mad from the pain!” It dove at them.
Kyogen let loose a low growl and tried to drag Kakyoin back, but paused when she saw his stand. Hierophant’s feet were spread out on the ground, worming its way underneath chairs. She was confused about what was going on as Kakyoin said, “What? If its tongue is ripped out, it’ll go mad from the pain?” He straightened, taking his weight off Kyogen. “My Hierophant Green?”
The needle from the beetle shot at them and two things happened at once. Sharpnote shifted to cover them as green tendrils shot from the surrounding areas and speared through the beetle. “What?!”
“If it rips you apart, it’ll go mad alright… from joy!”
Pained sounds escaped the beetle as it trembled in its suspended state. One wrong move would mean the end. Now that the bug was immobilized, it was safe for Kyogen to pull herself up as Kakyoin did the same. She dusted her school uniform off, thankful that it was still clean. Kakyoin's plan became clear and she cursed at herself for not realizing it sooner. “Hierophant’s appendages had already slipped beneath the sheets. Didn’t you realize I was trapping you there with the Emerald Splash?”
The bug twitched and got pulled into bits as the appendages yanked it apart. The old man that Sharpnote had moved to a chair jerked up, screaming. A dark imprint of a beetle began to appear on his tongue as it blackened and split apart. Kyogen looked away as blood spurted from his head and he went limp. She didn’t know how to feel. Relieved that the danger was over, conflicted that she’d sent Sharpnote to aid this man, nauseated by the things the man did.
“So that old geezer was the Stand user?” Kakyoin asked. He took out a handkerchief and wiped at the blood running down his chin. “A repulsive Stand usually has a repulsive user.”
The group gathered around the dead man’s body, although Kyogen went back to her chair and collapsed in it. She was mentally exhausted from the event and wanted to find some semblance of peace in the form of sleep. Hopefully without nightmares.
Kakyoin stared at the man and messed with the end of his hair strand. “It doesn’t appear that he has Dio’s flesh bud in his forehead…” Kakyoin mused.
Avdol sat back down next to her after draping a sheet over the body. The other three chose to stand in the aisle. “From the start, Tower of Gray was an evil Stand that killed tourists, making it look like an accident only in return for payment. I’m sure Dio was able to use him because he was easily bought, and blinded by greed.”
Kyogen was slipping in and out of sleep until her body tilted and hit the wall. She straightened up and groaned inwardly. Sleep would be so nice right now.
“Something’s wrong,” Joseph said. Kyogen growled underneath her breath. “I could be imagining it, but it seems like the plane is flying crooked.”
“It is crooked, Joestar-sama,” Kyogen mumbled.
The older man jolted. “I-It can’t be!” He began to make his way to the front of the plane.
The rest of the males shared a look and Kyogen screamed silently as they began following Joseph. The girl plodded along after them, her blank face a little more dead-looking than before, and her ponytail mussed up from sleep. She couldn’t quite see what was happening as they reached the door to the cockpit because of how absurdly tall everyone was. Sticking her head out from behind Avdol, she saw Kakyoin with two attendant ladies in his arms. He seemed to be murmuring comforts to them and Kyogen raised an eyebrow.
Kakyoin gently pushed them aside to make way. The cockpit door was wide open as she stepped in after Avdol and bore witness to the scene before her. The bodies of the pilot were all slumped over, their tongues missing from their mouth.
Joseph went up to the controls and bent down, looking at them “It’s falling,” he said. “And the autopilot’s been destroyed as well. We’re going to crash!”
Kyogen decided at that moment that she really hated planes as well. There was a loud splat behind her and ugly laughter. Kyogen whipped around, face twisted into a scowl when she saw the old man.
He was somehow alive and walking, although he looked worse for wear. “I am the Stand that holds The Tower card which suggests accidents at the end of a journey,” he declared, pointing a finger at the group. “You will not reach Lord Dio! Even if you survive this crash, you are 6,213 miles from Egypt! Those who swore loyalty to Dio will pursue you every hour of the day! There are Stands in this world that you can’t even imagine. Lord Dio is the master of Stands! He has the power to reign over them, you bastards will never reach Egypt!”
Kyogen turned away from him as he fell down into a pool of his own blood. The attendant ladies gasped in fear as they saw the old man’s body.
“You’re definitely professionals,” Jotaro said, settling himself onto the pilot seat next to Joseph. “It’s a good thing you didn’t scream, that would have been annoying. Now, I have a request. This old man is going to emergency land this plane on the water. Go put life jackets and seat belts on all of the other passengers. “
“G-Got it!” They both bolted away.
Jotaro turned to Joseph. “Old man,” he said to Joseph, silently asking the question they all had on their minds.
“Well… I have experience with propeller planes. But Jotaro… this is my third time. Have you ever heard of someone being in a crashing plane three times?”
Kyogen’s legs got weak as she sighed forcefully through her nose. Planes, national public enemy number two on her list.
“I’m never going to ride on a plane with you again,” Jotaro said. “You three, grab our belongings and get buckled up. It’s going to be a rough ride.”
Kyogen didn’t wait to hear it a second time and gingerly stepped around the bloodied body in the hallway. “Come on, Kakyoin, Avdol. We need to grab our stuff from the overhead baggage and get ready to land.”
The other two followed her and they passed the attendant ladies frantically handing out live vests. Kyogen snagged three and passed the other two to Avdol and Kakyoin. They reached their seats and Kyogen waited for Kakyoin to pass down the baggage, being too short to reach the overhead compartment herself.
“I’ll take either Mr. Joestar’s or Kujo’s bag,” Kyogen said. “I have the least baggage to carry.”
“Are you, sure?” Kakyoin asked. “Avdol and I can carry them.” “Yes.”
Kakyoin passed a black duffle bag to her and Kyogen sat down with it. She pulled hers from the under-seat compartment and settled down. Her hands trembled as she buckled the seatbelt and Kyogen’s heart was pounding. She squeezed her eyes closed. Jeez, she just faced off against an assassin but she was more terrified of an airplane crashing?
A warm hand settled on her shoulder and Kyogen snapped her head to face the person. “It’s okay, Wind.” He soothed. “The plane has safety precautions which will make a water landing much smoother.”
Kyogen gave him a stiff nod.
All she could do now is to wait.
