you stare at the ceiling, not being able to comprehend what happened during the last hour. you can't pretend that it was all a dream, because joshua is right here in all his naked glory and-

Oh god, the house shopping hangout would feel like a whole date. I feel that the two of you would first list everything you needed, and then walk into the store full of energy.

Joshua holding your hand so you "don't get lost" in that giant place, and judging each piece of furniture together while choosing the best one for your home. Hear me out but I think he has the BEST taste ever. maybe a minimalist style, not too many colors and simple shapes.

oh I also think that during the the whole "date" in the store you two would appear like a married couple.

Gav watched the massive bird swoop in front of them, placing himself firmly between the Enterprise and Odin. Not to say that Clive’s little brother wasn't brave, he was just damned near more daft than Clive himself. Constantly throwing himself into the same danger as his brother, but with a quarter of the muscle mass and a bad lung. But this? This was insanity. Odin had just dismantled his brother, the Eikon slayer, into a shred of ribbons the week before. And this skinny son of a bitch was the one who pulled him back together. Mending every limb, as if trying to un-carve a butchered bird. And by some miracle, up to his eyeballs in blood, the bastard had pulled it off. And now he was standing before Odin, ready for his turn. Who the hell did he think was going to patch him up? Is he out of his fucking mind?! Gav wondered, tossing a bucket of water onto the last fire and then scrambling to the bow to watch. No, of course he wasn't. He knew what he was risking. He knew he didn't stand a chance, just as Gav did, but he remembered the moment they'd noticed Odin appear. Joshua had moved instinctually in front of him and waved him away. He wasn't fighting Odin to win, he was fighting to keep him away from everyone else. Imagine that! The golden haired son of a duke that the breeze could knock over, and Gav cowered behind him like a little pup at the sight of Tharmr. That fucker better not die on our account!

you glance worriedly at your boyfriend, who's been pretty silent since the moment you got discharged from the hospital. joshua is not a very talkative guy, but it's rare for him to be this quiet too especially in your presence. his hand that usually is locked with yours when he drives is now gripping the steering wheel and it's.. baffling. a bit upsetting too, to be very honest. you try to remember if something happened during the last hour, but you can't latch on anything that could've made him like this. 'shua?' you call quietly. 'is everything alright?'

he quickly glances at you before focusing back on the road. 'yes, sweetheart. are you alright? nothing hurts anymore, right?'

you nod before hesitantly continuing: 'i am okay. you look a bit tense, that's why i asked if you're alright.'

joshua doesn't answer, not outright. it takes several minutes for him to find the correct words and he starts explaining during the red light: 'all of it just dawned on me. how i could lose you just like that, by some stupid accident. it's a heavy thought, you know?'

not expecting this reply at all, you turn to him with wide eyes. 'i'm here, shua. everything is alright now.'

'i know, i know. i swear i'm not trying to be dramatic or like to dumpen the mood right now, because you are so happy that we can finally go home...' he sighs and grips the steering wheel tighter. 'and i'm happy too. so happy, baby, you have no idea. if i ever lost you, i'd fall apart.'

You don't give Joshua enough credit for how strong he is.
