so here we go, my favourite author - @re-discover-communication and Wood Work. Inspired me again and i will think about and process this fic for quite some time. Thank you, thank you, thank you, I will never tire of repeating.

we always talk about alien josh, but can we talk about alien tyler?? IMAGINE HOW EXCITED JOSH WOULD BE taking care of the little creature, teaching him everything he has to know about humans, he would be so happy about it

tyler proved josh that aliens were real and that he wasn't crazy when he said that he had seen one before and his friends didn't believe him

josh would have so many questions about planets, space, stars. so many that it would start making tyler dizzy, but he didn't mind because he could see how excited josh was about the whole thing, he guessed that this alien-human interaction was not very common among species.

unlike josh, tyler was never too curious about the human world. these were seen as the not-so-advanced species. nonetheless, he was already there, so he might as well learn a thing or two.

he would later be surprised by his own new hyperfixation on human life and their interactions. everything seemed so genuine between them. they had skills that you had to learn, unlike aliens.

cooking and art was what stunned tyler the most. for him, cooking and food itself weren't things necessary to survive. art was a whole new concept he had never heard about.

if aliens didn't need it, they would get rid of the information.

he had no way of knowing if josh was an excellent cook, he just knew that he liked whatever he brought to the table. sometimes the overwhelming smell of home-made food would fill the whole kitchen, making tyler's brain go places he had never experienced before. some other times, josh would open the door and the food was just there, waiting to be picked up.

when that happened, the smell in the kitchen was nowhere to be found. however, as soon as the bag opened, his brain would get the same funny feeling he still didn't know how to respond to, he just knew that he liked it.

omg i love love love giving fic recs because a very good portion of the fics ive read are so incredible i must share the love around !!!

i realise you maybe did not ask for this whole spiel and so many fics but you ask and i shall deliver :3 i tried tagging as many authors whose tumblrs im aware of, so you guys can go send them some love, but there's a couple that im not sure have accounts here :(

i will never stop recomending this sorely underrated fic, i just adore it so much !! its a dark comedy guardian angel au (with a backdrop of bdsm - check the tags for more info on that) and will make you cry and laugh all at once :) its really great in its portrayal of a non-linear recovery, and quite inspiring with a soft and happy ending

this one is a wip, but is being regularly updated still !! this is one of my favvv fics ever even though its incomplete, and ive been intently keeping up ! this one is a werewolf/human experimentation au, and its got this isolated forest wintry vibe to it, but a tender discovery of the self and love :)

actually one of the first joshler fics i ever read and an amazing intro to the bandom, tackling conversion therapy and teenage romance :))

The Seventy-Third Hour by @edyluewho

all of edy's works are so atmospheric and immersive, every single one is amazing!! most of their fics have this dark undertone that is more often than not tied to a happy and soft ending (this fic is one of those) which i really enjoy! this one is inspired by the choker mv (ily choker), and deals with trans love, and tentative recovery (check the tags, as some topics mayy be triggering for some)

this one is just as moody and atmospheric as some of edy's works, and this one is a vampire au!! this also deals with some pretty heavy themes, but the ending is joyful!!

Okay here is my little Joshler blurb based on this ask! First one here we gooooo!

Camera's were flashing in front of them and Josh was sick. He couldn't remember the last time he'd felt this congested and worn down but it was the only day off they had in LA during their Takeover shows, and they had a photoshoot to do, and Josh didn't have time to be sick. Through the disgusting immunity shots, the steaming teas, the countless throat losenges, Tyler was next to him. Always cracking jokes and making the photoshoot bearable for Josh, in only the way Tyler knew how.

Tyler could make everything better. Simply by being in the same room as Josh, Josh felt like he was able to breathe better. Not physically, because of this stupid, shitty, cold, but still. It was that sense of peace. If it weren't for Tyler Josh wouldn't have made it through the entire day. It was the last set of shots that they were trying to get for the day. Josh had changed for the third or fourth time now, they were in their skeleton hoodies, and Josh was trying hard to keep his eyes opened even though all he wanted to do was sleep.

"Almost there" Ashley said to them from behind the camera as she set up the shots.

"We have to make sure we look as handsome as possible for these last shots" Tyler teased to Josh. "Not that you don't already look extremely handsome"

Josh bit back a smile, knowing the familiar joking tone in Tyler's voice. Always joking, always relaxed, always comfortable with his compliments to Josh. The same compliments that froze Josh in his track. The compliments that he would repeat to himself each night before he fell asleep, because God he was helplessly and totally in love with his best friend and Tyler had no idea.

It was a miracle that Tyler had spent the last ten years of their friendship and working relationship unaware of it. Sometimes Josh wondered if he didn't willingly turn a blind eye for Josh's sake, so as not to embarrass him.

"Alright, just about ready boys, thanks for your patience" Ashley said.

Josh felt Tyler's eyes rake over him once from where he was standing next to him and then, a moment later, he had reached across to Josh. He saw Tyler's hands, smudged black with the make up, cross in front of him, hovering above his right ear.

"You've got some stray hairs or something here..." Tyler said to him as Josh stood still in front of him, afraid to breathe, afraid to disturb the moment of Josh looking so closely at him, so close to his face. "Dude you're shedding so bad!" Tyler laughed, and he felt his fingers connect in Josh's hair.

"This one is definitely not attached..this one is...not..." Tyler softly pulled stray curls from above Josh's ear and he thought he might pass out. Ashley had started taking pictures, Mark was filming, this moment would be recorded forever and all Josh could do was stand, frozen, and try not to cry at the sweetness of Tyler's soft touch.

"This one...is...attached!" Tyler said through a huge grin. Josh felt tyler's pinky finger brush over his forehead softly as he told Josh "Make a wish!"

Josh wished for the same thing he always wished for.

Taken from this moment from the takeover tour series: episode 4 that I think of way too often.
