The bell rang through the school as the commotion of the class and corridors began to rise, every student heading to their next class. She too added to that as she rushed to her next class. English, was a subject that she despised, but the boy she sat next to made it not so bad.

Her and Harry got arranged seating at the beginning of the year. As a result of them both being extremely sheepish when around new people caused them not to speak for the first few weeks and only exchanging smiles of acknowledgment when passing one another in the halls. One Friday the teacher set a pair assignment for the weekend, when both her and Harry bonded over the thought of comics being better than actual novels they soon realised their common interests did not stop at that.

Their english classes were not spent practically and somehow they did even less work than they used to. With a few warning and many classmate judgements the pair found themselves inseparable.

Whether it was them both ignoring the smitten nature of their relationship or they were too busy thinking of each other to think of the reason why, Harry and Y/n had both failed to acknowledge the obvious connection they had.

It became extremely obvious to their classmates and their friends that they talked about one another too much to be ‘just friends.’

She walked and waited outside Harry’s class waiting for the dismissal. Harry came out of the room, lugging his bag on one shoulder ruffling his hair with the other hand. “You alright?” She asked, furrowing an eyebrow at the distressed boy. “Yeah, yeah. Just knackered. Don’t want to do this bullshit of a class.” He moaned as they trailed alongside eachother.

“Harry it’ll be alright. We always have a laugh in English!” She exclaimed as she tried to put a smile on his face. “I really dunno. I don’t want to go. But I don’t want to bloody skip by myself either!”

He looked around aimlessly as he contemplated what to do. “Y/n, would you come skip with me?” He asked her, his eyes filled with hope.

“I thought you’d never ask!” She joked.

After they had managed to make it off school grounds they headed towards a football pitch secluded in the back of a park nearby.

“See! This is so much better than English!” Harry uttered as he dropped his bag on the ground, running to a football in the net. He brought it out and took a kick of it. The ball was quite filthy and deflated too but Harry was having an exceptional amount of fun. The ball hit the netting at the back of the net as Harry ran around in excitement. She giggled at him, admiring how much fun he was getting out of the sad little football he had found. He ventured for the football and brought it to the spot. “Have a go.”

“What?”

“C’mon! Have a go. It’s easy just do a little run up and kick with the inside of your foot.” He lectured her, running his hand across the inside of his foot whilst doing so. “Right then.”

She giggled as she ran slightly to the ball, watching Harry shout to her with words of encouragement. She kicked the ball and it flew into the net. Harry yelled and ran to the girl, embracing her as he swung her around. “That was class, y/n!”

“Harry! I just seen you bloody do that about six times!” She stifled a laugh, admiring the boys complete giddiness.

“Yeah but from you! That brilliant from you!” He stated as he walked back to his bag, propping himself against the post and he sat down. “Oi!” She hit the boy playfully over the back of his head, and sat down facing him.

At first they contemplated how they would manage to pass the remainder of the day out in the bitter cold but it was soon resolved when Harry brought some things for them to smoke.

Their bodies were soon warmed up and their minds were flowing. As they both lay on their stomachs and talked about their mates in school they noticed how much fun they were having and dodging the thoughts of any trouble they might get in later.

Harry couldn’t stop laughing at anything the girl said, he admired her true smile and how much it enhanced her beauty. His brain was fumbled. He finally admitted to himself this afternoon to his true feelings about her and he didn’t know how to act. He had pushed it away for so long so it didn’t bother him but now that he had admitted it to himself he couldn’t help but feel so out of place. He was awkward, fidgeting with his fingers and constantly running through his hair to the point where she asked,

“Are you okay?”

He stared at the girl blankly as his eyes grew heavy and his expression started to seep into confusion.

He then did something so impulsive that it even stunned him. He leaned in and she followed suit and then he connected their lips, the kiss was slow and sweet. She was a gentle kisser and her hands trailed to his hair slowly tangling through his blonde mess. She could feel him smile through the kiss and they slowly pulled away and he rested his forehead on hers and they both just smiled in content.

The Bleachers - Josh Dun x Reader

A/N: Absolutely loved this request 🎻! It was super cute and fun to write so thank you!!

“Sorry, Mr Dun, do you know what time the pep rally is supposed to be on Friday?” I asked, catching our music teacher in the hallway between bells. Kids were rushing past each other, running to their classes as the five minute countdown till the next bell ticked away in everyone’s heads. 

“It’s at seven, I tried to change it to seven thirty because of the band’s practice time but Principal Higgins said it was already booked and parents were already set on coming at seven,” he shrugged. Mr Dun was one of the younger teachers at our school. Our old music teacher was an older man who only ever taught the students classical music and when he retired suddenly we were forced to find someone at the last minute. Which meant any local musician regardless of whether they had their teaching degree yet. Que Josh Dun, a drummer who had reached out to the school after seeing their ad online and had managed to land the job as soon as he started talking about music concepts our principal didn’t know about, making him the smartest person in the room. Both of us being the two youngest teachers at the school had made it easy for us to become friends, especially when it came to gossiping about our favorite students (which we most certainly did NOT have). 

“Thanks Mr Dun! Hey, I’ll see you at lunch right?” I asked, looking at him as I stopped outside my classroom door. 

“Of course,” he smiled, his expression relaxed as I admired him quietly. “But only if you stop calling me ‘Mr Dun’, Y/N. It’s Josh!” I nodded, trying to suppress a laugh as the final bell rang. “I should get going, I’ve got a freshman class waiting for me,” he explained, giving a cute wave before disappearing down the hall. 

Josh, I mused, trying it out in my head. It felt strange, personal. But I liked it. As the last few kids poured into the auditorium I made my way to the stage–most of the kids were already sitting in a circle ready for the lesson. I loved my theater kids, each of them were their own person, unique in the best way possible and unafraid to sing and act their hearts out.  

I glanced up and recognized Amanda, a junior with a flair for the dramatic—both onstage and off.

“Miss Y/L/N?” she asked, tilting her head with a knowing smile. “Can I ask you something?”

I chuckled. “Wouldn’t that already be asking me a question?” The class laughed at that. “Go ahead.”

“It’s just…” Amanda paused, glancing around before lowering her voice. “Why don’t you just ask Mr. Dun out already?”

I blinked, caught off guard. “Amanda! What are you talking about?”

“Oh, come on!” she whispered, practically giddy. “Everyone’s seen the way you guys talk to each other. And he definitely likes you—I mean, the way he looks at you? Please, Miss Y/L/N. You’d be so cute together!”

I felt heat creep up my cheeks as I waved her off, trying to sound as teacher-like as possible. “I’m pretty sure your English teacher wouldn’t be thrilled to know you’re spending your passing periods coming up with romantic conspiracies about your other teachers, especially given that I know juniors have a large project going on at the moment.”

But she just grinned wider. “I’m telling you, you’d be adorable. Just think about it!” 

By the time lunch rolled around, I was still thinking over Amanda’s comments as I made my way to the teachers’ lounge. Sure enough, Josh was already there, leaning against the counter with a cup of coffee, chatting with Mr. Larkins from the math department. He looked up as I walked in, giving me a grin.

“There you are,” he said, gesturing for me to join him. “I was starting to think I’d be eating lunch alone today.”

“Oh, as if you wouldn’t survive without me,” I joked, pulling out a chair across from him. I unwrapped my sandwich, catching the faintest glimmer of amusement in his eye as he stirred his coffee.

“So, what’s on your agenda for the pep rally?” he asked, casually shifting the conversation back to our usual teacher-to-teacher banter.

I shrugged, trying to keep things casual. “Oh, just wrangling the theater kids and making sure they don’t spill paint on any of the props they’re hauling out. You know how they are.”

He laughed. “They’ve got spirit. I respect that.”

Our conversation flowed easily, as it always did, moving from school plans to weekend plans, with just a hint of that unspoken familiarity between us. It was one of my favorite parts of the day, and I couldn’t help but wonder if he felt the same.

Finally, Friday night rolled around, and the energy in the gym was buzzing with excitement. The bleachers were packed with students and parents, everyone cheering as the pep rally began. I caught a glimpse of Josh on the far side, directing his band students with his usual cool ease. He gave me a thumbs-up when our eyes met across the gym, and I couldn’t help but feel a little jolt in my chest.

The rally itself was a success—the theater kids managed to keep all the decorations intact, the cheerleaders nailed their routine, and the band had the whole gym swaying and clapping along. It was a perfect moment of school spirit, the kind that made even the most stressed-out teachers feel a little extra pride.

Once everything wrapped up, I helped usher the students back to their designated spots and started packing up the leftover decorations. That’s when I felt a tap on my shoulder.

Turning, I saw Josh standing there, grinning down at me. “Nice work keeping your kids in line,” he said, hands shoved into his pockets. “Some impressive crowd control skills you’ve got.”

“Same to you,” I replied, matching his smile. “The band sounded amazing tonight.”

“Thanks,” he murmured, his voice softening a bit. “Want to… take a break from cleaning and get some fresh air? Just for a minute?”

I hesitated, then nodded, heart beating faster as we slipped out one of the side doors and made our way under the bleachers. The night air was cool, crisp with a hint of autumn, and the muffled cheers of students could still be heard behind us. Standing there under the stars, I felt the entire week’s stress melt away.

“Can I admit something?” he said, his voice almost a whisper. I nodded, feeling the tension growing between us. “I look forward to those lunches with you more than I probably should.”

I felt my cheeks warm again, like Amanda’s words were echoing back to me. “You know what? Same here.”

Josh took a step closer, his hand reaching out to gently brush my shoulder, and for a second, I forgot about everything else—the pep rally, the students, the school itself. It was just him, looking at me with those soft, inviting eyes.

And then, like it was the most natural thing in the world, he leaned down, and his lips met mine. The kiss was warm and sweet, filled with the unspoken words we’d both been holding back.

When he pulled away, he gave me that same gentle smile I’d come to know so well. “So, for our next date… what would you say to coming to one of my shows?”

I laughed, nodding without hesitation. “I’d say it sounds perfect.”

And as we stood there, grinning like kids under the bleachers, I realized that we weren’t so different from our students. We were reliving our high school years together under the bleachers.

Harry smiled at you as he watched you primp yourself up on the train. Purely afraid of being rushed out into the festival once you arrived. You hated being rushed.

He admired you, watching as your eyes light up and your smile grew wider as you and chip discussed the anticipation you both had for the following days. On the train was you, Harry, Chip and Freezy. Many others were going. The remainder of the sidemen, Callux, Talia, Freya and Willne. To name a few. Your friend group were extremely lucky with their opportunities but they found it was always for work that they were meeting up. Yes, this weekend many people were bringing along their vlogging cameras but they weren’t there because they had to be everyone wanted to be there.

“I’m looking forward to a couple of pints,” Harry added to the conversation. Chip laughed, “Aren’t we all my friend.” As he held up his water bottle waiting for Harry to return the toast.

The four of us arrived at our hotel, eager to get out and explore the festival grounds. You loved hotels, something Harry knew. You were too busy looking for the reception to notice Harry had changed which hand was lugging his suitcase as he intertwined your fingers with the other. You finally broke out of your trance. “Hi Harry.” You smiled and he sheepishly smiled back.

Once you all arrived in your room, messages from the groupchat came flooding through. Everybody begging the four of you to hurry. “Tell Simon we’ll be there in a minute,” you groaned, unable to find your shoes. “I just need to find these shoes.” You rummaged through your suitcase that might have been a little too full. “These ones?” Harry queried holding up your shoes as you pulled them from his hands. “Yes! Oh my god.” Harry smiled as you kissed him on the cheek, scurrying to put your shoes on.

You and Harry made it to the lobby just after Chip and Freezy. A group, probably to others distaste, were gathered in the middle. All riddled with a buzz of excitement. It radiated as you smiled as soon as you seen the herd of them. “Y/n!” You heard one of them shout, only if you knew which one. Harry’s name was called soon after as he came into their view. “So good to see you.” Callux said as he embraced you. “Great to see you too.” You smiled at him before being welcomed by another’s embrace and then it carried on. Eventually, everyone arrived on the field for the festival. The good thing was, music was playing from every end on every stage. Everybody ran for a drink. “Would you like a beer?” Harry asked, pointing to the bar some were already off too. “Please, if you don’t mind.”

“Of course.” He replied, giving your forehead a kiss before moving on.

As the sun went down, the atmosphere grew and drunk levels were significantly increased. You and Harry were dancing with one another, his hand sometimes resting on your waist but other than that it was reckless dancing. Unfortunately, as you danced your night away you knocked over a man’s beer behind you. “Oh my god! I’m so sorry—Let me, let me buy you another.” You scrambled as you picked up his cup, looking at him with apologetic eyes. “What the fuck! What the fuck!” He yelled, Harry turned around. “Hey mate, back off!” He shouted, the guy just laughing in his face. His girlfriend rapidly apologised logging her boyfriend through the crowd. “I’m so sorry. He’s so drunk. Sorry.”

Harry wrapped his arm around your shoulder as they walked away into the crowd. “Hey. You okay?” He yelled over the bustle of the crowd. “I’m fine, Harry. It’s just people when they’re drunk.” You said, it didn’t bother you but something about his anger felt so genuine even through the slurred speech and drunken eyes. Suddenly the crowd raved as the main artist came on stage. Harry nudged your arm with excitement. “For this first song, grab your significant other or maybe someone you care about.” Harry had never leaned into you faster his arms grasping your waist as he turned to face you. The song flowed as did your bodies. “I love you.” Harry spoke as he pulled you closer. “I love you more.” He pulled you in for a kiss and the night never felt younger.

Just had to tell someone… Was at a concert last night and the Sqad I saw was legendary. All 3 Hughes brothers, Josh Norris, A Tanev, Cole Caufield,, Dylan Larkin, Luke Glendening, Alex Turcotte.. That’s all I can remember.

I had a few cocktails 🍹 so there good been more. 😂

okay, i’m gonna take a crack at this.

we all know number 1 is quinn, 2 is luke, and 3 is jack.

in the middle we have gavin “brinds” brindley, who’s undefeated.

i’m taking a wild guess that 4 (“smokey”) is Trevor, but i can’t be sure.

5 is josh norris, 6 is more than likely dalton norris, 7 is matty beniers, 8 is obviously dylan larkin, 9 it seems like is “Duke jr” so Tyler Duke, 10 is “boot” and i have no clue who that could be, 11 is “Duke sr” so Dylan Duke, 12 is unreadable, 13 is probs that dorian guy they’re friends with, 14 is “Chief” and i’m thinking that COULD be jim but idk, 15 is “niko” and i’d like to believe that’s just their funny lil way of spelling nico but i’m pretty sure it’s niko porikos, 16 is unreadable, 17 is “purkoff” or “porkoff” and idk who that would be, 18 has 2 people: “pat” who i assume is Pat Brisson and “bones” and i have no guesses for that one, and finally: 19 has 2 people: “Blanks” which is Nick Blankenburg and “Dougie” who i would like to assume is Dougie Hamilton.
