A SHORT (NOT) MESS OF AN ESSAY ON HOW CLARKE AND BELLAMY ARE INCREDIBLY ESSENTIAL TO THEIR UNIVERSE This is a half-humorous post about the ridiculousness of the plot, but believe me it's filled to the brim with my love for it

Or, in which explaining the plot of the numbers show would get me institutionalized. I refuse to check wiki while writing this post so if I'm wrong about any of the lore and dates, just look past it. So, ~100 years before S1 we have the following happening: Becca Franco is a brilliant billionaire who is a genetic engineer, a prodigy coder, oh and a eugenics supporter who is working on a superior black-blooded race. She also creates A.L.L.I.E - an AI that does not understand that sometimes the end does not justify the means In the background, WW3 is raging, Diyoza is blowing up fascist governments, the U.S. president is a Wallace. And then there is this bombshell blonde Josephine Ada Lightbourne, with her princess haircut, who is a huge fan of Becca's. She is preparing to embark on a mission to look for inhabitable planets onboard of Eligious III. Those who are part of this mission are equipped with memory drives inside their heads for storing data about new environments. Eventually, Becca has one of those inside her head, too. Meanwhile, Diyoza and >300 other prisoners are sent on a mining mission on a bunch of rocks in space aboard Eligious I. They are put to sleep in cryopods developed by Becca's company. Meanwhile, it can be assumed that Clarke's ancestors and Bellamy's great-great-great grandpa with 4 PhDs have begun their space station jobs.

97 years later, we all know what happens, 101 people are sent to Earth on what is believed by many to be a suicidal mission. There is nothing inherently special about Clarke or Bellamy. I mean, of course they are dearly special to my heart and turn out to be incredibly special to the universe, but before I humorously describe the plot progression, I need to emphasize, they are two humans who lived all of their life on a tin can in space, and while within the context of the Ark they are special (Clarke is a "princess", of course not literally but it does not seem far fetched that she would end up becoming the Chancellor someday; Bellamy is the only big sibling on the ark which gives him personality traits unique for someone his age as far as the ark is concerned). But they are not supernatural beings, they do not have nightblood, they are not chosen ones, know what I mean? And yet:

S1: the most down-to-earth season, after that the stakes will only go up. Objective: make sure that the 102 has as many survivors as possible until the adults get down to Earth. Enemies: grounders, reapers, wildlife, elements, toxic fog (mountain men but they do not know that yet), sometimes the delinquents turn against other delinquents. Clarke uses her calculating, cunning, and caring nature as well as her medical skills to gain respect among the group. By the end of S1 she is someone that the rest of the delinquents look up to guidance. Bellamy uses his PhD in public speaking (why is he sometimes "quiet" in blarke fanfic, he is literally the yapper boyfriend) and combat prowess to initially scare people into deference, however his caring side cannot be contained for too long. By the end of S1, he is someone that the rest of the delinquents look up to for guidance. Blarke status: co-leaders who respect and inspire each other and friends who flirt at the most improper occasions

S2: the season with the finale to end all season finales trademark.

Objective: break the 47 out of mount weather; establish a truce with the grounders and claim some territory for arkadians Enemies: Mountain Men, grounders and their commandor but in a "enemy-of-my-enemy-is-my-friend kinda way, gorilla mutant

Clarke - kills her ex-boyfriend (and that is the merciful option), and becomes a de-facto chancellor due to incompetence of A/bby and K/ane; negotiates a deal with the grounder ruler - L/xa who in her head HAS A MIND DRVE WITH ALLIE 2.0 THE MORE ADVANCED VERSION OF THE AI WHO NUKED THE WORLD and also HAS THE MEMORIES OF BECCA FRANCO. Clarke kisses l/xa - the start of a long situationship with the chip.

Bellamy - goes on an extremely risky one-man undercover mission to infiltrate Mount Weather. Just so it resonates, Bellamy is not a trained spy or a navy seal or a special forces soldier. He pulls of this insane feat of disabling the acid fog without being caught(the fog machine apparently has been killing the grounders for 50+ years and is the reason why the grounders could not retaliate against MW all this time!!!! He!! really!! did!! all1! that!! without being caught AND was actively working on protecting the 47 simultaneously) Blarke status: bonded over the actual genocide of MW (including the Wallace lineage) after the grounders forced their hand by utterly betraying them. S3 - the season when things start to get out of hand Objective: claim safe territory for arkadians to live and hunt for food; develop an alliance with the grounders (who stabbed them in the back in S2); make sure the commander keeps her word that arkadians are part of the alliance; make sure Ice nation does not ascend and wipe out skycrew; keep their own people from being executed by their own people; stop Emerson; stop THE AI THAT ENDED THE WORLD WITH NUKES, stop the zombies controlled by said AI; obtain a nightblood in order to access Becca and stop the evil AI SAVE THE WHOLE HUMAN RACE

Enemies: grounders (heh I see a pattern); Pike (kinda), Queen Nia, Emerson, Roan (kinda), Ontario, ALLIE, Jaha (kinda), l/xa (kinda), Echolocation wew, just writing it down, they really did try to do everything in those 16 episodes, didn't they? ALLIE the AI that NUKED THE PLANET bats her eyelashes flirtatiously at BELLAMY while possessing Raven. Calls out Bellamy for being more devoted to Clarke than to his actual girlfriend. i need to emphasise that THE AI THAT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ENDING THE CIVILATION IS INVESTED IN BELLARKE RELATIONSHIP DRAMA.

Clarke enters the chip inhabited by her lover and by Becca Franco. Has a conversation with both ALLIE and Becca. The memory of 'together" gives her strength to pull the kill switch.

ALLIE: so essentially in 6 month is the last day of humanity because of the second nuclear apocalypse incoming,

Clarke: don't worry, me and Bellamy will figure something out :))) together :))) (with Raven ofc, I mean no erasure to my girl, its just this post is focusing on bellarke) ALLIE: :O Im exhausted Ive already been writing out this post for an hour, Im glad I'm halfway through

Blarke status: reunited and it feels so good. Saved the world (but not quite yet) S4 - the calamity season

Objective: Save the human race (again)

Enemies: Primefiya, Ice Nation (kinda), Ilian (for a hot second), ALLIE 1.0 (for Raven) Uncle Jaha sets up Blarke on a day trip in order to feed them some lore that will be relevant later. Bellamy picks up a coin with the 'from the ashes we will rise" written on it, which will prompt Jaha to correlate this with the grounder prayer which will make him ask the flaimkeeper about it which will lead them to check the temple which will lead them to discovering the bunker. So I think that all the ppl who found salvation inside the bunker owe their life to Bellamy in a round about way.

Clarke once again negotiates an alliance with the grounders. Acts as de facto chancellor. Bellarke act as the leaders of the sky people as god intended. Clarke becomes a nightblood (this will be extra relevant in S6) O*tavia is credited with something that was Clarke's idea in the first place and would be impossible without Bellamy's help. So everyone say thank you Clarke and Bellamy for saving us :) Blarke status: This voice mail is currently full. S5: We are not pretanding that the apocalypse could have possibly happened around 2050 anymore considering the technology available

Objective: Save the human race and Earth. Try not to destroy the only inhabitable spot of land left on the planet challenge.

Enemies: Paxton "Graveyard" McCreary, Diyoza (kinda), rest of the miner's crew, Kara Cooper, Octonian, Miller (for a minute) Diyoza, the former navy seal corporal turned domestic anti-fascist terrorist back from 106 years ago is very invested in the Bellarke relationship status. Bellamy makes a deal with Diyoza & her army by having a galaxy brain and keeping that Best Dad in the Universe mug - truly an iconic behavior. This leads to a) saving Clarke and Madi (a.k.a his wife and daughter uwu) b) opening the bunker, which apparently the 814 left in the bunker had no prospects of opening so please say thank you Bellamy fast forward to the end - Clarke and Bellamy are off to ANOTHER FUCKING PLANET?!?! and making decision regarding the fate of the human race again as God intended. Also Marper got to be happy and grow old together <3 miss them though. Blarke status: they got sick of their world-wide fame and now are onto their galaxy-wide fame. They have 2 kids. S6 - The most romantic 10 episodes of television brought to screen I think Objective: explore Alpha; find a safe territory for their people; make alliances with Sanctum; uh oh what are those people up to???; sci-fi horror intensifies; SAVE CLARKE; and the rest of sky crew I guess; keep an eye on Jordan and Madi (objective failed); act on feelings (objective failed)

Okay, so. We have this awesome chick Josephine and she and neuroscientist Gabriel are sooooo in love. They are quite crazy about each other. Josie is very flirtatious but you can tell that what she and Gabriel have is something special. But then BUT THEN Josie is murdered by her own dad while he was having an environment-driven psychotic episode. and Gabriel is NOT READY TO LET HER GO HE LOVES HER OKAY. And her dad, Russel, obviously feels guilty as fuck and cannot live with himself. So Russel and Gabriel work on defeating death. Yea you heard that right, we are dealing with immortality now. After decades of inhumane experiments they succeed in bringing Josie back in some innocent girl';s body. How? Because Josie was backed up on a mindrive, that was developed by Becca. You know, the same Becca that caused the world to end the first time and inadvertently caused the plot of the whole show to happen. The same Becca whose AI was very invested in Bellarke relationship drama. I digress

Fast forward ~250 years later, Josie is a bubbly psychopath (she sad endearingly). And Gabriel actually noped the fuck out of this eugenics oblation camp 70 years prior. This caused Josie to become even colder and more ruthless, she doubled down after she realised that the love of her life had become disgusted by her. She does no longer remember how it feels to be loved or how did it feel TO love someone as she did Gabriel. One day, She wakes up and discovered she was put in the body of the iconic Clarke "Ferrari" Griffin herself. She thinks she will get away with the (not successful) murder of her because she has a lot to offer her friends in return, namely immortality, territory, and all the intel about the planet they had gathered. BUT BUT BUT she did not expect one Bellamy Goddamn Blake a.k.a the love of Clarke's life.

He is the first one to realize that Clarke is not Clarke. He is the first one to realize that Clarke is ALIVE. By seeing Clarke memories Josie knows that what would be likely to make Clarke stop trying is the belief that Bellamy gave up on her. BITCH YOU THOUGHT

So she experiences Bellamy DRAGGING her on forest floor and being gentle with her body at the same time because it is CLARKE's body. While they are in a cave she teases him about his relationship with Clarke, then reminisces about Gabriel and gets all sappy, and then by taunting Bellamy she hears "I wont let you die" and let me tell you SHE'S SHOOk. SHE FORGOT. SHE FORGOT YOU COULD LOVE SOMEONE SO MUCH. SHE FORGOT YOU COULD BE LOVED SO MUCH. IT PROBABLY REMINDS HER OF HOW GABRIEL ONCE WAS DEVOTED TO HER AND T SHAKES HER TO THE CORE.

Fast forward to Bellamy showing up Just In Time, undercover (as is his favorite past time) Josie says mockingly "because of course it s" BUT YOU KNOW SHE'S IMPRESSED. Then, The Tent, o man, THE TENT. Josie, probably slowly accepting that this might really be her end, admits to Bellamy in the softest voice "she was right to depend on you" And then she pleads with Gabriel and it's heartbreaking because yes she's a villain, she's a eugenist, a psycho, even simply Evil, probably BUT ONCE SHE WAS A BRILLIANT, RESOURCEFUL, CONFIDENT YOUNG WOMAN LIKE CLARKE. AND SHE JUST WANTED TO GROW OLD WITH GABRIEL. AND GABRIEL TELLS HER I LOVED YOU FOR CENTURIES AND BELLAMY'S FACE AND JOSIE GOT TO HAVE TO SPEND HER LAST MOMENTS WITH GABRIEL THANKS TO BELLAMY AND CLARKE AND IT GIVES HER STRENGTH TO KIND OF ACCEPT DEATH, PERMANENTLY "IN THIS BIG SLEEP, WHAT DREAMS MAY COME" "I HAVE TO LET YOU GO NOW" AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA NA DTHEn AND THEN WE HAVE THE CPR SCENE "I NEED YOU" "YOU'RE A FIGHTER SO GET UP AND FIGHT" "I AM NOT LETTING YOU GO" MOUTH TO MOUTH, TRUE LOVE"S KISS And Clarke looks at him like he hung the stars in the sky. Bellamy looks at her like he is the only star in his sky. And they save their friends. again. And they Do Better.

Cause they are better. together. And they are SO.POWERFUL

Their relationship literally transcends centuries and planets. Wow this is long. My legs are tired from sitting in one position. Who made it till the end?

It’s something I thought up, inspired in part by “stackednatural”, but mostly by myself doing this with The Vampire Diaries this last year (see my #stackediaries tag). The gist of it is that you watch each episode of the show on the anniversary of their airing date. It “officially” started in October (with only two episodes) and it would end in September 2024. Watch some episodes and not others, for any reason. I’m doing this to have some fun with this VERY polarizing show, seeing how my perspective might be changed with hindsight + this specific way of watching it, and a bit because I miss my little corner of this messy as fuck fandom. But this is something you can do in whichever manner works for you, mate.

July 30th. Season 6 episode 12, “Adjustment Protocol”. A special Naming Day changes everything in Sanctum. Gabriel comes face to face with an old friend.

July 31st. Season 5 episode 12, “Damocles: Part One”. In part one of the fifth season finale, Octavia leads her people into war. While behind enemy lines, our heroes must overcome their differences to save Wonkru from extinction.

a young girl who looked about 12 years old sat in a tent looking at specimens her Father had found on the new planet that was similar to earth,however the child couldn't help but shake the bad feeling she got when team alpha had landed,the group being deployed by eligius III for a colonizing mission ,being deployed with a thousand nightblood embryos to begin a new colony,the group also being given the nightblood serum,red soon turned into black.

Nova Lightbourne was the child's name,and it had been twenty-one days since they had landed on planet alpha,she was one of the youngest members on the eligius III outpost.

The lightbourne family consisted of Nova,her older sister josephine,and her parents russel and simone lightbourne.

"Josephine!,dad wants you!" Nova yelled for her sister outside the tent,she was most likely with gabriel,atleast that's what Nova thought until her mother walked into the tent.

"Look who I found." her mother said,with Josephine in tow,Nova whined when the older girl had messed up her perfectly straightened golden brown hair.

"I am perfectly capable of talking to my daughters alone." russell said to his wife.

"Uh-huh, also perfectly

overprotective and possibly megalomaniacal." Simone replied.

"Possibly?" Josephine said,as Nova gave her father a "Shes right look".

"Stop with the hair,and Nova stop making kissy faces at Josie." Russell said to the girls.

One thing Nova loved to do was Mess with Josephine about her relationship with gabriel.

"Dad, busy." Josie said her eye twitching at Nova,who giggled slightly.

"Really? How many species have you cataloged today?"

"17, still only 3 evolutionary branches -- insect, rodent, and reptile. A few of the weirder ones are hard to classify, so I created a new taxonomic category -- Guaiwu." Josephine said.

"Hah! I beat you,I catolaloged 20." Nova said,As stated before, she was one of the youngest of the eligiouse III ,she did what any normal child would do,explore.

Josephine had tried to hide her smile,but failed ruffling her sisters hair once again.

"Hey!" Nova exclaimed as Josiephine plucked out a hair,it was a small white strand, however the two girls didn't really notice as they teased eachother.

"Guaiwu?" Their mother said cutting off their rambling.

"Freaks in Chinese,Well, Mandarin, to be exact,One of them eats a berry that tastes like cotton candy." Josephine said,while Nova started drawing in her journal.

However when she does its like a daze,ever since they came to alpha,her once colorful and childlike drawings became dark and realistic , but the scary part was that they come true , it happend just as it is drawn,and this time she was scared.

Because this time on the page the drawing showed nothing but death,her sister and mother being one of the many bodies.

Nova then snapped out of her daze when her mother spoke.

"You tried it? Josie, how many times do I need to tell you-- " Simone said concerned.

"I didn't try it,I made the kids do it,Leelee And Nova loved it."

"How long ago?"Simone said,checking her youngest for any symptoms,however she too seemed to look past the white strands of hair slowly replacing her child's brown locks.

"Mom, if it were poisonous, they'd be dead by now." Josie said as Nova put her hand over her heart giving an offended look.

"Mhmm,I'll go check on the other children , Get me a sample to analyze." simone replied going outside.

"What?" Josephine asked as their father stared at them.

"Do you remember when I told you why I became an astronomer?" Russell said,playfully glaring when his youngest groaned.

" Oh, here we go,Yes,You wanted to prove there's no God too bad Nietzsche beat you to it when he said, 'Gott Ist Tot' -- 'God is dead', Can I go now?" Josephine said to their father.

"What would you say if I told you that being here in this miraculous place makes me question that?" russell

" I'd say, not everything that's miraculous is a miracle." Josephine said,while Nova just stared at her sister as Russel spoke up again.

"Hey, give Dr. Santiago some space, okay? I'm serious, kiddo, We're building a sanctuary for the human race here,Last thing I need is a brokenhearted geneticist,Copy?" Russell said,Nova made kissy faces at Josephine,laughing when she tickled her.

"Nova and I have a name for this place." Josie said changing the subject.

"I don't know, I think Alpha is pretty hard to beat." Their dad said.

"The latin root of sanctuary." josie stared.

"Sanctum!" Nova exclaimed,doing the jaz hands.

" Josephine Ada Lightbourne and Nova Prim lightbourne, I do believe you two just named our new world,Serious about Gabriel, josie." Their dad said,as Nova groaned as her hair was once again messed up.

And with that Nova ran off,Not noticing as her golden brown locks had been turning a snowy white as the sun turned a deep red.

A cave that glowed red had attracted the girl,feeling a calling she entered the cave.

As she walked further into to the cave she almost shit herself,a fucking dragon stared right at her,yes a dragon a real one,like the ones you here about in stories.

She would have ran for it,but she was frozen,and she rather not be eaten.

The dragon snorted,putting its face near hers,giving Nova a chance to see the eggs that laid beneath the large beast.

"Your beautiful,Im sensing your a girl , so what about the name,sapphire?" Nova asked nervously.

The dragon then nuzzled her large head against the girls cheek,guess she liked it.

"The Eligius Corporation wanted to find new worlds to tap for oil, after Earth's oil had been depleted,Eligius I was sent to colonize and study five sites,so Phase One of the mission was to test whether a settlement could successfully survive on the world,This also included studying the lifeforms on the new world, The second phase was to populate and build a sanctuary for the human race." Nova read from her journal as Sapphire snorted.

"For this reason, the team consisted of the families and embryos were sent to further increase the population,They also used Becca's cybernetic implant technology known as Memory Drives in order to keep log of their findings,Mission Team Alpha was the team sent to site Alpha, a moon in a binary star system,thats us sapphire."Nova said explaining why they had came to the planent in the first place,wincing as the pain in her body returned.

"Due to the radiation caused by the two suns, members of the team were given Nightblood-" Nova was then cutoff as a lood boom shook the cave.

Sapphire started freaking out,it was then that Nova said her goodbyes and rushed to camp.

The bad feeling had never left her stomach as she saw her sister and Gabriel.

"Josie,Gabe!,What was that?" Nova yelled as Josephine brought her sister under her arm in a protective like stance.

"Jesus Khaleesi your hair,did you find some kind of dye or somthing?" Josie said with a questioning voice using Nova's nickname that she had given to her as a baby.

However Nova was confused, what was she talking about?, her thinking however was cutoff as Gabriel spoke.

"Have you ever heard anything like that before?" Gabriel questioned.

" No one has,It was a sonic anomoly probably caused by molecular vibrations in the air and trees, Where's my dad? He'll know what I'm talking about,Mom? Mom! Mom, mom... Dad, what are you doing?" Josephine yelled as they entered the camp, the oldest girl rushing to their mother.

Nova froze as she saw her parents come out of the tent,her mother first,falling to the ground as josephine reached her,before she took one last breath as josephine held onto her.

Nova then let out a loud scream when their father slashed at her,a long cut ran from her neck to her left arm,it would forever leave a scar.

Josephine pushed Nova when their father slashed at her once again,however this time it was josephine's neck,the girl falling to the ground with a thud.

The twelve year old screamed out loud, launching herself backwards as her older sister fell to the ground,rushing behind a tree as gunshots and pain filled groans filled the air.

"Sanctum is mine,Sanctum is mine! " Russel chanted,shooting his gun some more.

"Run! Run!" Gabriel yelled,as he and others ran for safety.

Nova then ran for the cave,were sapphire awaited,her body felt like it was on fire,her wound stinging,still hearing the chanting,she picked up the pace.

Russel either killed or injured the other members of team alpha.

"Sanctum is mine!" Their father had yelled once more.

Josephine was glad her little sister was safe,her heart finally giving out.

As Nova made it to the cave still crying,sapphire had awoke from her slumber,licking the girls wounds.

"What am I gonna do now?" Nova cried out ,her father still out of his mind,It wasn't until she felt the pain in her body flare up,that she ended up letting out a loud scream as her body fell to the ground,it was as if she was on fire,but she couldn't move as she let out more screams.

it went on and on until the red sun passed hours later.

The girl was left panting as she laid with sapphire who had a look of worry,for a dragon she showed much compassion.

"What?" Nova questioned as Sapphire nudged her head over and over,The girl was tired,her body still shaking from what had happened,black blood staining her clothing and splattered across her face.

It wasn't unill somthing caught her eye,on the reflective surface of one of the many small crystals that lingered in the cave was Nova staring at herself.

And her now snow white hair,no more Golden brown locks in sight.

Suddenly laughter was heard as the group looked at a stairway,a woman with hair that was as white as snow with a tinge of blonde stood at the top with a child right by her side.

Bellamy and her had locked eyes,and instead of focusing on Murphy,who looked beyond saving,he focused on her.

More children then rushed out laughing,however the woman rushed towards them,her face amazed as she stared at the strangers.

Her amazment then turned into a glare as she looked towards the cuffs put on Kaylee,who the group had taken prisoner.

I’m still not over Clarke talking to Bellamy over the radio every day for 6 years. He was the person she wanted to talk to most that whole time and it kept her sane to keep radioing to the ring and hope someone could hear her.

And when they finally talk about it, he reassures her so sincerely that it’s not crazy. Then to lighten things up, he calls it a little pathetic. He was able to get Clarke to laugh about something so serious and traumatizing right after because they’re still really good friends, despite everything. Despite him basically moving on with Echo on the ring, especially when he thought Clarke had died in Praimfaya. Despite the tension of the two of them getting reacquainted after the 6 years of separation and Bellamy locking her in that room.

And then you tell me they didn’t end up together???

Not to mention his devastation when Clarke “died” and Josephine took over her body and the fact that the only people on the walls in her mind were her loved ones like Lexa, her last love and BELLAMY. And the way he fought to bring her back declaring “I’M not losing her again.” and giving her CPR and the relief and the way they clung to each other when she came back… brb gonna go cry over them again

Bellamy Blake and Clarke griffin are too normal about each other in a significant amount of content about them and I don't know why. These are not two well adjusted individuals, kind and well intentioned, yes, but they are both ready and willing to kill mass amounts of people just to keep who they care about safe. They will kill and maim if they have to, themselves, each other, nobody is safe and why am I not hearing about it!! Why is there no blood and teeth and rage!! They are Mind and Heart, they can't exist without the other and it's painful! it hurts them! it hurts the people around them!!. I mean in Josephine's Bellarke monologue, both her and Bellamy acknowledge that the relationship between them is weird and exhausting. And he still does everything in his power to bring her back. This was meandering and ranting but I'll end this with the general summary of: Let Bellarke be weird and co-dependent and angry and irrational about each other, it's their natural habitat.

Thought I had long since made my peace with the tragedy of show!Bellarke, but was randomly reminded of when Bellamy was traipsing around the woods with Josephine outside Sanctum, and we all thought it would be Day Trip 2.0, and Bellamy would hear some form of Clarke’s radio calls from the 2199 days. Yeah, we were clowns, but it also would’ve been so??? easy??? to include the radio calls??? But instead they were literally ignored basically as soon as Bellamy and Clarke made up fully during the lanterns scene. You’re telling me that Gabriel’s camp pulls in radio calls from every other planet introduced to us, and yet there’s not even a mention or reference to Clarke’s calls to Bellamy? It was the basis upon which they rebuilt their relationship, and it doesn’t even get a single line??? And I’m not even talking a whole dramatic love confession over the radio, it would’ve been enough to see Bellamy hear even one of her most mundane calls. His expression at realizing that Madi and Clarke were NOT exaggerating when they admitted to the radio calls. That they really were every damn day. And it even could’ve been one we’d heard before, or of a similar vein. But no. That’s the line they drew in baiting us. I’m so spitting mad over this again, and trust me, I was apoplectic over this when it was first happening (once I had scrapped myself off the ceiling after the CPR scene, that is, and wow, what an amazing scene used as bait!!! Here We go again Bellarke warriors, if you can hear me, it's been about 1680 days since I stopped caring (or so I thought)

I hadn't been to tumblr in years, before I decided to give the 100 a rewatch in June of this year, as I had given up somewhere around the start of season 5 (I remember hating the LONG ass timeskip teased at the end of S4, I guess some other media must have swallowed me during hiatus, and when I tried to give that season a chance I vividly remember 1) I couldn't see shit on my screen 2) I hated what the timeskip did to the established relationships) and so I dropped it for good, looking back I almost can't believe I could just...not finish it like that because let me tell you I did NOT fuck about Clarke and Bellamy, and Raven, and Monty, and probably some other characters back in 2015-2016. I think I maybe did not appreciate season 4 enough at the time it was airing (because I think binge-watching is very flattering for that season, watching it live I remember it was frustrating to watch the characters go on side quests in 4A) but now knowing what the character arcs are and where it was going makes it my second-favorite season. BUT, I digress, wow. This is meant to be a rambling, incohisive love letter to the compelling relationship between Bellamy and Clarke. I warn you, they truly do not fucking leave you as it turns out. I would go to the trenches for them back in my fandom days in 2015-17, and I realised, after binge-waching the show over 4 sleepless nights (seasons 1-6, which are the only seasons in existence, obviously)that I STILL just FUCKING CARE SO MUCH. I NEVER CARED ABOUT FICTIONAL CHARACTERS SO MUCH AS CARE FOR THESE TWO SEPARATELY, AND AS SOULMATES. Because let me tell you, Clarke and Bellamy, they fucking love each. Like actual, happens-only-in-romances LOVE. It is frankly INSANE how JRoth, K*m Shum and other managed to gaslight me over some of the bellarke scenes in S2-S3 as to make me think it's in my (and thousand's of fans') head WHEN IT IS SO FUCKING OBVIOUS FROM SCORE, EDITING CHOICES, LONGING LOOK SHOTS, HANDS SHOTS, LINES, AND FINALLY, ACTING AND DIRECTION THAT THESE TWO ARE LOVERS.

I have never, ever, before or since, followed two characters who were so compatible, so equal, so trusting in each other, so open with one another, so mindful of the other's emotions and needs, so so so made for each other, that it is no surprise to me that they are top 10 F/M pairing on AO3. Because Bellamy and Clarke would fall in love in every imaginable scenario, in every universe, across time. I am not usually that cheesy or cringy, but it is true. I could not put my finger on why they are my absolute favorite to read fanfic for and then it occurred to me. That as long as the hands of fate put these two in proximity of each other, it;s a done deal. That chemistry transcends the limits of a single tv show. The depth with how Clarke and Bellamy love each other honestly makes me pause for breath sometimes. It is not just the iconic, famous bellarke scenes, but also the quiet moments.

Like in 6x05 or 6x06 (cant remember) when Clarke's body was stolen by Josephine after her one-night stand with Cillian. (stay with me) Bellamy, unaware that Clarke isn't herself at that point, comes over to chat, he's clearly at least a bit jealous over her sleeping with Cillian, and yet he says "happiness looks good on you" with that wide, earnest smile. And just wow. How must he love her, to be so utterly happy for her own happiness that has in that instance nothing to do with him. so selfless. well, selfless is basically Bellamy's middle name.

Or how in season 4, after a lot of the characters and at times the narrative wanted to push this idea on Clarke that she is the sole leader of her people, gets right back on track to her co-leader dynamic with Bellamy, constantly checking with him, considering his input, and respecting choices that she herself would maybe not make (releasing the ensalved arkadians and grounders vs ensuring they get a machine necessary to generate water) but always understanding that these choices agree with his core values, and she loves him for it.

This post is way too long. I love Bellamy. I love Clarke. People often use the 'MY PARENTS" about ships on twitter, and you know what, in my case that's kinda true with bellarke. I met these characters when I was 15. I am 25 now, and with an adult perspective to my surprise I found their relationship even more profound then I remembered, and I was insanse about them already. They are truly THE power couple of all time. Oh yes, that scene was absolutely like that! I think we all knew this is exactly what he thought! The tension, the PAUSE, it's all just so *ugh* *screams in Bellarke*, like Eliza said on Conageddon "KISS!" it can be so frustrating yet everything about them is so beautiful it makes my heart melt. You can see how much that silly dum dum Bellboy loves his beautiful Clarke and how HARD he fights for her, all jokes aside, he really did fight for her so much, even before the CPR scene, even before that season, he walked through a damn forest bleeding and in pain just to try and save her from Roan, people really don't pay enough attention to the fact that he was willing to give his life for her and he put himself in danger multiple times for her!
