(Doctor Who) UK Prime Ministers and US Presidents
Full (Incomplete) UK PM List in the DWU from 1950 – 20XX (Some years are guessed)
Will be updated whenever I can be bothered we get new information. Just random speculation jamming together a list that was never meant to be jammed together.

Anthony Eden (1955-1957)
Harold Macmillan (1957-1963)
Sir Alec Douglas-Home (1963-1964)

Edward Heath (1970-1972)
Jeremy Thorpe (1972-1974)
Harold Wilson (1974-1975)
Brenda Jones (1975) (According to a Jonathan Morris Tweet)
Shirley Williams (1975-1976)
James Callaghan (1976-1979)
Margaret Thatcher (1979-1990)
Margery Phipps (1990-1992)
John Major (1992-1997) (Assassinated)
Lord Greyhaven (1997) (De Facto PM for several weeks)
Tony Blair (1997-1999)
Terry Brooks (1999-2000)
Phillip Cotton (2000) (Deputy PM until election was called)
Kenneth Clarke (2000-2001)
Tony Blair (2001-2002) (Second term)
Unnamed Male Pro-Europe PM (Possibly Hugh Grant) (2002-2005)
Tony Blair (2005-2006) (Third term)
Joseph Green/Jocrassa Fel-Fotch Passameer-Day Slitheen (2006) (Only served as acting PM for a day)
Harriet Jones (2006-2008)
Harold Saxon (2008)
Aubrey Fairchild (2008-2009)
Brian Green (2009-2010)
Denise Reilly (2010-2013)
Kenneth LeBlanc (2013)
Denise Reilly (2013-2014) (Resumed for a second term after Kenneth Le Blanc died)
David Cameron (2014-2015)
Daniel Claremont (2015)
Theresa May (2015-2018)
Felicity (2018-2019)
Fiona (2019-2020)
Boris Johnson (2020-2021) (Revealed to be an Auton)
Jo Patterson (2021)
Edward Lawn Bridges (2021-2023)
Unnamed Woman (2023-2025)
S J Wordley (2025-2026)
Glenda Jackson (2026-2028)
The Director (2028-2046)
Roger ap Gwilliam (2046)
Dai (2047-2049)
Lomax (2049 - 2050)
Mariah Learman (2050-2055)
Unnamed (?-2065-?)
Corollaries (PM List)
Jeremy Thorpe and Shirley Williams are said to be Prime Minister contemporaneously with the UNIT stories (Which are assumed here to take place on their airdates as per Mawdryn Undead and most Modern Who references)
In a tweet Jonathan Morris claimed the Prime Minister in Terror of the Zygons or Mawdryn Undead was Brenda Jones, Harriet Jones' auntie. I put this in 1975 (for less than a year) because why not. Ignore this if you think it's bad.
The Torchwood Encyclopaedia claims that Denise Reilly succeeds Brian Green, since the next PM chronologically is ‘Unnamed Female PM from BF Silence Audios’ these have been welded together.
Actual dates of Kenneth Le Blanc and Unnamed Female PM are unknown, but are set in the UNIT audios between Power of Three (2012-2013) and DotD (2013).
Felicity and Fiona are given as PMs in Aliens Among Us and God Among Us (Torchwood S5 and S6) released and presumably set in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
Eight gives the PM list as Heath -> Thorpe -> Williams -> Thatcher -> Major -> Blair -> Clarke in Interference, this is not supported as a direct list by other sources, though I tried to fit it as best I could, resulting in Blair having two non-adjacent terms.
2010s are a mess due to BF, Titan Comics and the Lucy Wilson novels all giving conflicting accounts of who is PM only a couple years apart, apparently there were a lot of elections/resignations in that decade
Harriet Jones initially served Three terms prior to the Doctor altering history and deposing her, given UK Term Length is unclear, it's unknown how long this would have been, I would guess around 15 years, which would've put Harriet Jones at (2006-2021) where she'd be succeeded by Jo Patterson.
The UK becomes a military Dictatorship from 2028 until 2046 headed by ‘The Director’.
Dai is described as the 'first Prime Minister to serve after the Director is overthrown' this seems to contradict 73 Yards depicting Roger ap Gwilliam's election, but if Roger ap Gwilliam was overthrown as well he can't be said to have 'served', his deputy PM, Iris Cabriola technically succeeds him, but is never the official PM and presumably Dai is then elected the following year.
Then in 2050 Lomax is the dictator of the UK. In the 'mid 21st Century', Mariah Learman is a ‘benevolent dictator’ of the UK.
An unknown Prime Minster led the UK during the weather crisis of December 2065.
Full (Incomplete) US President List in the DWU from 1960 – 20XX (Some years are guessed)
Historical Before This Point
John F Kennedy (1961-1963) (assassinated)
Lyndon Johnson (1963-1969) (VP who succeeded their predecessor)
Richard Nixon (1969-1974)
Gerald Ford (1974-1977) (VP who succeeded their predecessor)
Jimmy Carter (1977-1981)
Ronald Reagan (1981-1989)
George H.W. Bush (1989-1993)
Carrol (1993-1994)
Bill Clinton (1994-1997) (Presumably VP who succeeded their predecessor)
Tom Dering (1997-1999)
George W Bush (1999-2001) (Presumably VP who succeeded their predecessor)
Bruce Springsteen (2001-2003)
Chuck Norris (2003-2005) (VP who succeeded their predecessor)
George W Bush (2005-2007)
Arthur Coleman Winters (2007-2008) (VP who succeeded their predecessor)
Winter’s VP/Speaker of the House (2008-2009) (Succeeds Winters after he’s killed by Saxon)
2009-2017 Term
Felix Mather (2009-2017) (Presidency overwritten by Faction Paradox)
Sampson (2009-2017) (Presidency induced as an aberration by Lolita)
Barack Obama (2009-2017) (Replaced Felix Mather in history)
2017-2021 Term
Daniel Strunk (2017-2021) (Presidency overwritten by Faction Paradox – Mather’s Successor)
Matt Nelson (2017) (Presidency induced as an aberration by Lolita – Assassinated at Inauguration)
Lola Denison/Lolita (2017-unknown) (Assassinated her predecessor)
Donald Trump (2017-2021) (Replaced Daniel Strunk in history)
After 2021
Courtney Woods (unknown-2049-unknown)
Gavin A32X40 (unknown – 2086 – unknown)
Corollaries (President List)
The Eighth Doctor gives the list of Presidents as Carter -> Reagan -> (HW) Bush -> Clinton -> Dering -> Springsteen -> Norris
The President given in 2004 is referred to by the nickname ‘Chuck’ in Cat’s Cradle: Warhead which combined with the fact Springsteen was the President in 2003 and ‘Norris’ succeeded them suggests that the 2004 President was Chuck Norris.
The President in 2006 was implied to be George W Bush based on Harriet Jones’s dialogue. He was previously stated to be President in 2000 (Which he hadn’t been in real life)
Clinton is stated to be President in both 1997 (by metaphor in Placebo Effect) and in 1999 (in Rosa). However both of these are less conclusive than Tom Dering’s direct appearances in Option Lock and and Millennium Shock (also 1997 and 1999) implying that the mentions in Placebo Effect and Rosa were merely off by 1-3 years.
Obama is explicitly stated and shown to be President in 2009, 2012 and 2016, however Felix Mather is stated to be President in the 2010s, physically meeting the Eighth Doctor in Trading Futures. It is stated that Mather’s role in history was replaced due to Mather refusing to make a deal with Faction Paradox and so that has been taken into account.
Concerning the 2017-2021 Presidential Term
Donald Trump is stated to be a candidate in 2016 and is subsequently stated to be President in 2017, 2018 and 2020.
In contradiction, Daniel Strunk is stated to be President in 2017.
This is resolved by having Strunk be Mather’s successor who’s term was also replaced when Faction Paradox remove Mather’s term from history.
The Faction Paradox novel ‘Head of State’ depicts a 2 term Democratic President named Samson who is succeeded by Matt Nelson of a newly formed Radical Party. They are subsequently assassinated by their VP, the sentient humanoid TARDIS Lolita (Who has also been War Queen of Gallifrey and Queen of the UK before, as well as having devoured the Eleven Day Empire). It’s unknown how long she served nor when beyond ‘Early 21st Century’. She (along with Matt Nelson and Samson) have been as a temporal aberration replacing Mather and Strunk before themselves being replaced by Obama and Trump following Lolita’s defeat in True History of Faction Paradox and the ending of the War in Heaven.
A 2000 Bernice Summerfield short story claims Hillary Clinton was US President at some point. However, these records are portrayed as suspect with Bernice questioning them herself and have been ignored for lack of a position to place Clinton into the timeline.

Since we’ve begun to learn more about Antoine, I wanted to share the inspiration for his character. Here he is side by side with Mr. Ferdinand Joseph LaMothe, professionally known as Jelly Roll Morton.
Jelly Roll famously claimed to be the inventor of jazz, a statement that alienated many of his contemporaries and has been hotly contested since. He certainly helped shape the genre, and came of age playing in the best brothels of Storyville. He later went north, where he recorded his music and managed a jazz club before his tragic and untimely passing in 1941.
If anyone would like to see the sheer skill of Jelly Roll Morton, I highly recommend this video showing the notes of Finger Breaker (enough said), which he composed to show off the talent of New Orleans pianists to northern ragtime players. You can also listen to Jelly Roll’s original recording of this composition here.
LaMothe's story is a unique treasure because it was recorded in his own words. Folklorist Alan Lomax interviewed Jelly Roll in 1938, prompting him to recount his life, the fall of Storyville, and the rise of jazz in New Orleans. These recordings are available to listen to, and hearing Jelly Roll’s own voice tell his story as he plays piano is priceless. Lomax also transcribed these stories in Mister Jelly Roll: The Fortunes of Jelly Roll Morton, New Orleans Creole and "Inventor of Jazz", which is the foundation of much of this decade in The Darlington Legacy.

Judy Heumann died a couple of weeks ago, and I didn’t know what to say, but I need it to be something because of the scale of this loss has in the disability community.
For anyone who doesn’t know, Judy Heumann was, in short, the Mother of Disability advocacy. She lived her life fighting for the rights that you and I have as disabled people today. Though the resources we have now aren’t as accessible as they should be, we would have far less if it were not for Judy.
During her life, Judy took it upon herself— with the help of other disabled people— to demand, not ask, that disabled Americans— people, be offered equity, not just equality. If you’re a disabled American, you’ve likely benefited from some of her achievements thanks to these two large movements that changed disability history.
504 Sit In: April 5th, 1977
Section 504 is a portion of the Rehabilitation Act that states disabled people, solely because of their disabilities, cannot be discriminated against. We were to be given the same outside access as others, the same inside access as others, and the same access to an education, employment or otherwise basic resources and rights. President Nixon vetoed the Act, twice in the span of five months.
In protest of the denial, multiple sit ins were set at the Health, Education, and Welfare (HEW) building, most notably the location in San Francisco. They did not plan to leave the building until 504 was signed into the Act by Joseph Califano, who was Jimmy Carter’s secretary at the time.
Mr Joseph Califano gave orders that no meals or medication, vital or not, would be allowed in the building that they camped in. Please note: the Black Panthers helped them get through the time in the building, they brought supplies— medicine, food, water. The Black Panthers helped take care of them for a month; they sat in the building until Califano caved and signed 504. The people in the building described how their symptoms began to take over during their time there, one person saying they basically ate sleeping pills to drown out the pain.
National Museum of American History has the story, “The physical effects of the occupation lasted long after the sit-in ended. For Brad Lomax and Steven Klein . . . the stress led both men to have “pretty severe exacerbations of their MS.””
"The discomforts... meant nothing in comparison to the importance of 504 being signed."
Capitol Crawl— March 12th, 1990.
A demonstration was held on the nation’s capitol building, outside on the steps. The protesters that were located here were there to demand that The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) would be put into place, denying discrimination towards disabled people in the outside world, widening accessibility that we didn’t have before.
This was done in an attempt to display the struggle of being physically disabled in a world made for abled bodied people, and why it was important to demolish the barriers between us and the general public; this was meant to show the disparities of navigating daily life between disabled people and able bodied people. People left their walkers, wheelchairs, electric chairs, crutches, braces, canes and other mobility aids down at the bottom of the steps of the capitol building and crawled up each step, as far as their bodies allowed.
Judy fought her entire life for us to be able to continue living in an ever growing society as a disabled person. She helped us have access to public places, buildings, spaces, education, accommodations, and work opportunities.
Unfortunately, disabled Americans still do not have equal rights for marriage, but we’ve come a long way thanks to the collaboration of disabled people, cripple punks, The Black Panthers, and the LGBT community.
I love you Judy. Thank you for everything.

McKinley Morganfield (April 4, 1913 – April 30, 1983), known professionally as Muddy Waters, was a blues singer-songwriter and musician who is often cited as the “father of modern Chicago blues”, and an important figure on the post-war blues scene. His style of playing has been described as “raining down Delta beatitude”.
He was recorded in Mississippi by Alan Lomax for the Library of Congress. He moved to Chicago to become a full-time professional musician. He recorded his first records for Columbia Records and then for Aristocrat Records, a newly formed label run by the brothers Leonard and Phil Chess.
He and his band—Little Walter Jacobs on harmonica, Jimmy Rogers on guitar, Elga Edmonds on drums, and Otis Spann on piano—recorded several blues classics, some with the bassist and songwriter Willie Dixon. These songs included “Hoochie Coochie Man”, “I Just Want to Make Love to You” and “I’m Ready”. He traveled to England, laying the foundations for the resurgence of interest in the blues there. His performance at the Newport Jazz Festival was recorded and released as his first live album, At Newport 1960.
His music has influenced various American music genres, including rock and roll and rock music.
His longtime partner, Geneva Wade, died of cancer (1973). Gaining custody of his three children. He married Marva Jean Brooks (1979).
His sons, Larry “Mud” Morganfield and Big Bill Morganfield are blues singers and musicians. In 2017 his youngest son, Joseph “Mojo” Morganfield, began publicly performing the blues and played occasionally with his brothers. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence

Joseph Lomax's Life
A few years ago we received the Joseph Franklin Lomax materials from his brother John Lomax III. The collection is not completely ready for patrons, but in honor of Pride Month, we wanted to highlight it.
On February 19, 1949, Joseph Lomax was born into a family that loved and preserved music. His grandfather John A. Lomax and uncle Alan were famed song collectors. His father John, Jr. managed Lightnin' Hopkins, helped found the Houston Folklore Society, and recorded three albums and performed often.
Tumblr media
Clifton Chenier, ca. 1980, photographer: Joseph Lomax
Joseph Lomax like his family never turned away from music. He documented Zydeco in the article "Zydeco-Must Live On!" from the book collection What's Going On? (In Modern Texas Folklore). He assisted the Houston Folklore Society. He co-owned Wings Press, which published the very collectible For the Sake of the Song song book by Townes Van Zandt. He began performing folk songs in the early 1980s, one of his last projects came at the Texas Tall Tellin' and Music Festival in May 1986 with frequent accompanist, Hally Wood.
Tumblr media
Unknown, photographer: Joseph Lomax
Lomax also took photographs, lots of photographs. They detail his life in Montrose and his friends, parties at his home, photo shoots of Hally Wood and Frank Davis, nature, architecture, and his love of neon art. His collection contains many photographs of him though it's unclear if he took them.
Tumblr media
Joseph Lomax, 1970s
In the 1970s as detailed in his journal in the collection, he began to struggle with his identity. He would later come out to his friends and family. One letter in the collection from his uncle Alan Lomax is an apology for his initial reticence to accept his nephew's sexuality.
Tumblr media
In 1986, Joseph Lomax was diagnosed with Kaposi sarcoma and later HIV. From a set of pages dated September 16, 1986, he writes about waiting for his official diagnosis, and what comes next in his life. He struggles with giving up and assigning everything to karma and his life force being ready to leave this realm or the inverse of his karma wanting to fight. Drawing upon his work as a massage therapist, he wonders if there are alternative remedies outside the traditional medical establishment. While it's unclear what all he explored, there are photographs of him in the collection receiving acupuncture.
Sadly, Joseph Lomax passed on January 9, 1988, one of the many victims of the AIDS crisis. His memory is preserved in his collection, but also the AIDS Quilt.  His panel sparkles like his collection does.

Teams: Manly's axing after show-stopping game
Tumblr media
The NRL's form player of the year, Tom Trbojevic, is set to make his return for the Sea Eagles after missing round 23 with a facial injury.Last week, Trbojevic was ruled out as a precaution amid conflicting reports the superstar fullback had damaged a pre-existing facial fracture.
Tumblr media
Tom Trbojevic (Getty)While serious injury concerns were put to bed, the Sea Eagles took no chance, resting their talisman who is set to make an emphatic return against the Bulldogs this week.Meanwhile, star teammate Moses Suli has been dropped from Des Hasler's squad despite putting up a stellar man of the match performance last week. Suli has been dropped to reserves, replaced by Brad Parker who slots straight into the centres.

[Image description: A comic titled “Gentler Genres for These Tough Times.”  It shows ten books with cheerful pastel covers.  They are titled Cosy Crime, Restful Romance, Soothing Sci-Fi, Affable Action, Harmonious Horror, Friendly Fantasy, Cheery Cyberpunk, Genial Ghosts, Mild Mystery, and Dainty Dystopia.  End image description.]
Other folks’ mileage might vary, but here are what I would put in those genres:
Cosy crime: The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman
Restful romance: Happiness by Aminatta Forna; With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo
Soothing sci-fi: To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis
Affable action: Hench by Natalie Zina Walschots
Harmonious horror: Welcome to Night Vale by Joseph Fink
Friendly fantasy: The Leagues and Legends trilogy by E.J. Lomax; The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison; Raybearer and Redemptor by Jordan Ifueko
Cheery cyberpunk: Idoru by William Gibson
Genial ghosts: The Ghost Bride by Yangsze Choo
Mild mystery: Murder on the Rockport Limited by Clint McElroy, Griffin McElroy, Justin McElroy, Travis McElroy, and Carey Pietsch (illus.)
Dainty dystopia: The Back of the Turtle by Thomas King

"Joseph 'Slow Dog' Hart, Knoxville blues singer (1897-1955). He spent most of his years as a street singer, with occasional gigs at house parties and bars. But in 1947 he had an unexpected success from a one-time recording session with Alan Lomax. It was a song of his own composition, 'These Blues are Just Like Love.' He scored a regional hit with his version, then it was recorded as a country-and-western number by Tex Ritter, and became a national smash. With the royalties, Hart, who had often lived on the streets where he played, was able to live out his last years in comfort, before his death from liver cancer. 'These blues are just like love/They keep me thinking of/Your beauty and your body and your touch/These blues are just like love/They got me cooing like a dove/You're long gone but I still want you oh so much.' Pencil sketch, digital paint. #drawing #pencilsketch #Pencil #microfiction #blues #music #Knoxville https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt4QUZqlmpk/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=yslpg9rda2ch
