"I love you but you're doing wrong in a way I cannot condone" and "I hate you but you're being wronged in a way I cannot stomach" are top tier and I need more of them.

If you’re secure enough with and in your own identity, then you wouldn’t actually feel threatened that it will be stripped away completely if someone doubts you,,,
Like even if you think a complete stranger is doubting you, would it make a difference to you being actually disabled? Does it take away your conditions and symptoms by someone questioning your reality?
And it’s very, very interesting to me that people assume that other people are saying they’re not disabled solely because their shared experiences still aren’t comparable when it involves a disabled body rather than the hardwiring of a brain (even if a neurodivergent person is disabled as well) and think that we are threatening their own disabled identity just by speaking.
If someone called me a faker because they can’t see my 7” long scars on my hips, that won’t change the fact that I’m disabled. It won’t change the fact that my conditions caused my bones to not fully form and that’s why I have them in the first place. It won’t shake my disabled identity, I know I’m disabled, and no one telling me that I’m not will ever change the fact that I am disabled and I am chronically ill. No matter the way they say it to me, I will still be disabled.
So why do you feel so threatened when someone even mentions the fact that there are people worse off than you? People having it worse than you doesn’t erase your disabled identity, and people having different disabilities don’t mean that your status as a disabled person is suddenly void. Someone else’s existence as a disabled person is not, and never will be yours. Their existence in a completely different scenario doesn’t take away from your experiences within your own self.
Someone will always have it worse than you by the way, and someone will always have it better than you. And their existence shouldn’t be a threat to your identity, and it definitely shouldn’t be thrown back at disabled people because you’re too insecure with the labels that have been applied by/for you.

Bluey and bingo say it’s okay to heal your inner child
not necessarily disability related but a topic worth discussing:
something i’ve been really focused on is trying to do things that heal my inner child and add whimsy to my life. i think it’s easy to forget that we’re always going to be the children we once were and it’s okay and important to nurture and heal those children. pick up a coloring book! watch your favorite childhood show! hell even go fly a kite!!
i think a lot of us felt sooo rushed (or we were forced) to “grow up” and we just completely abandoned our childlike joy and wonder. please please be kind to those kids who live within you<3
