My own copies of "Mary Barton" and "North and South" novel written by Elizabeth Gaskell in brown Penguin Popular Classics edition. Both of them had the same price and rare to find. These novels seemed like a companion at each other as both of them have themes about poverty and the situation of the people during Industrial Revolution. These books seemed quite fragile but I like their sweet, fragrant smell.

jj stared a her from across the country club, jaw clenched seeing his arms around her. angrily tossing dishes into the black buss tray. he couldn’t peel his eyes away seeing her laugh and snuggle close to the blonde.

her eyes met his for just a moment, within a blink of his eye she was looking back at topper. her looks were like poison calling his name, begging for him to come steal her away. make her his again. but he couldn’t.

jj yanked his tray up, a loud clatter of the dishes made people look over. his eyes never left their table. shaking his head he looked away, hurrying off inside the club building.

y/n frowned. toppers eyes followed as the pogue disappeared into the building, pulling her closer to him. him and his friends laughed at the blonde headed boy.

amongst the laughter and rude jokes her boyfriend and his friends made, y/n’s mind wondered back to that night. the night she poured her heart out.

it was late at night, the pair had spent the day at the beach while the pogues were off doing god knows what. relaxing and surfing, now sitting in the soft sand under the stars, both of them soaking wet from the oceans salty water. jj had his head on y/n’s lap, eyes peacefully shut as she played with his hair.

the girl looked at him with the softest smile, a tight ping in her chest, a nervous feeling in her stomach, and the ache of not wanting to move from this very spot ever. was this what love feels like? she asked herself. her eyes darted over the boys face, she never wanted to leave. she’s never going to, that’s her promise. she’s never going to leave.

“jayj?” she whispered, her fingers running through his hair. “hmm,” he hummed.

y/n bit her lip. the nervous feeling traveled up her throat, hanging there caught in a lump. “I…I think I love you.”

his eyes shot open and he quickly sat up. hands gripping the blanket that was under them. when he didn’t answer the girl looked at him, concerned she did something wrong. scared he didnt love her. “jj, say something please.” her voice sounded as if it was far out, beyond the crashing waves of the sea.

a hand landed on his shoulder, “jj…are you okay?”

he looked over, eyes wide and nodding frantically. “yeah…yeah I’m fine. I just…I gotta go.”

“what?”

jj stood up, looking around for his things. “I have to go, I’m sorry.” he muttered as the girl stared at him, the pale moonlight catching her glossy eyes and quivering lip. the pogue took in a deep breath, shaking his head as he grabbed his backpack.

“jj why are you doing this?” the girls voice cracked, he froze looking down at her. his lips parted as he tried to find the answer. “did I do something? do you not love me?” she whispered now gazing up at him.

“y/n…don’t,” he replied quietly. “don’t cry.”

she laughed, “don’t cry? really jj? I just told you I love you and you’re leaving, and you don’t want me to cry?”

“that’s not what I meant.”

“then what did you mean?”

y/n now stood in front of him, his eyes never meeting hers. “please tell me what’s wrong, we can figure it out. If you’re not ready tell me that.” his lips rolled together, his eyes closed as his head dropped. he did love her, but what they have—it’s not gonna last. not with who he is.

y/n’s hands moved up and cupped his face, making him look at her. “jayj, you don’t have to say it if you’re not ready. I’m not going to go anywhere if you don’t.”

“we can’t do this.” he blurted out. her face dropped as his hand grabbed her wrist slowly moving her hands away. “I’m not good for you, you have a whole future ahead of you. now look at me and tell me I have one. you cant, because I don’t. my future is behind bars.”

“jj…”

“no, y/n I’m not good enough for you. I never will be.” he swallowed thickly. “you’ll be living in figure eight while I’m in a run down hole-in-the-wall. I cant..I can’t hold you back.”

“you’re not holding anyone back jj,” she cried. “please.”

jj shook his head, he didn’t say a single word backing away from the girl. she didn’t try to go after him, she didn’t beg him to stay. she sobbed though, hands covering her mouth to muffle her cries as she turned her back to the boy as he walked away. not from her but from them, everything they ever had was gone.

jj knew it was wrong, leaving her there heartbroken thinking he didn’t love her. but he did. he loved her so fucking much it hurt. she was all he every thought about. when he woke up it was her. when he went to bed it was her. It was always y/n l/n. if he could do it all again. he would’ve said I love you. he could’ve stayed. he should’ve because now she’s gone.

i am quite literally just not a fan of this season 😭😭 it felt almost completely different from the first two seasons. i didn’t like how the group didn’t seem to get many scenes together, it was always like jj and kiara scene, cleo and pope scene, and then john b and sarah scene. the groups were so separated to me and i despised it!!! the group dynamic?? just felt all weird idk maybe that’s just me! it just felt like strangers things s4 and the way they had the california group, hawkins group, and russia group.

i am Happy I Guess for jiara shippers but i couldn’t stand whatever angst thing they had going on throughout the season. Again, that could just be me cus i ain’t a jiara stan to begin with.

i didn’t quite care for the carlos singh. for lack of a better word, i thought he was unnecessary. he was kinda just there for me idk

I think rafe’s “love interest” was out of nowhere. i didn’t really care for her and i guess she was there specifically to knock some sense into rafe for that One Thing but other than that, she seemed random.

i hated sarah cheating on john b. it wasn’t out of character i guess?? no offense sarah i love u with my whole body. i just didn’t like it.

jj way just not jayjaying this season for me. Still love him to death. OH AND IDK WHY THEY WROTE EVERYONE RANDOMLY STARTING TO CALL HIM JAYJ?? Like im sure they didn’t it a couple of times it the other seasons but man this season like everytime they were speaking to him, they were saying jayj

I LOVE CLEO AND POPE they mean the world to me. I love how heyward and mama heyward are with cleo and how they were willing to give her a place to stay. i love cleo talking pope out of shooting rafe. i love their no love club. AND THEIR KISS!!! UGH!!! i would dee eye ee for them.

ward and his flashbacks of sarah got me. i Know he cares for sarah like a lot. OH AND THEN THE LIKE PARALLEL!! ward being like “you won’t shoot me” (i can’t remember exactly what he said obviously) and rafe hesitating but with sarah she didn’t even hesitate. i was like jaw dropped cus i already knew sarah ain’t like her father too much anymore after s2 but idk that really solidified it with me. And how much rafe genuinely cares for his father.
