It’s surely past two in the morning when you finally get into your room, struggling to keep your eyes open.
You agreed to go to a Kook party with Rafe, as Topper and Kelce had to beg him to go out. He spent most of his time with you, even just being in the same room felt enough for him.
At first, it wasn’t that bad. You had a few drinks, nothing crazy. But the music got louder, Rafe’s friends more annoying than usually and you knew it was time to go home.
You sit down on the edge of your bed, Rafe following you close behind. You groan as you bend to unbuckle your heels, but feel his strong hand on your leg.
“Don’t worry ‘bout that,” he whispers, taking care of the shoes. He easily pulls the clasps and slides them off your feet.
You send him a soft smile, leaning in to leave a kiss on his cheek.
“Get up, baby.” he commands and chuckles when you pout. “We’ll get you ready for sleep, ‘kay?”
You sigh and stumble onto your feet. He keeps his hand on your waist as he’s leading you to the bathroom. You climb up on the counter as he gets to work. Rafe takes a cotton pad with some micellar water and gently rubs your eye, taking off the mascara you’ve put on before leaving.
You feel his warm breath fanning your face as he focuses on getting everything off. When you open your eyes, you see him with his brows knit together and tongue slightly out, and you can’t help but giggle.
“What? Can’t a good boyfriend help his girl out?”
You nod, a sleepy smile plastered to your face. When he’s finally done, you brush your teeth and take a quick shower while Rafe gets your pajamas for you.
When he comes back he waits for you change, of course not without staring at you for the whole time. You feel your cheeks flush, and everything you want right now is to just lay down with him, finally getting a peaceful moment.
“Are you ready?” he asks, but you’re already making your way to the bed.
You jump on it with all the energy you have left, eyes closing almost immediately after you lay your head on your soft pillow. The mattress bends under Rafe’s weight, and you feel his arms wrap around you. He buries his face into your neck, leaving a few kisses.
“Thank you,” you whisper in the silence, “For being here, y’know.”
His cheeks turn a delicate shade of pink, and he can’t help but smile. “Everything for my girl. Goodnight, baby.”
“Goodnight, Rafe.”

"Oh look, Rafe's here," Chelsea leans in to whisper to all of you girls. All heads turn to where she is subtly pointing. Rafe Cameron, with his buzzed hair and brooding expression, strides through the country club, his presence commanding attention.
You can't help but notice how your friends’ eyes widen, their expressions a mix of curiosity and apprehension. Kaycee sighs, shaking her head. "It's such a shame he's so grumpy and mean all the time. He's good-looking, but that attitude just ruins everything."
A few of the girls agree with her words, their eyes still on Rafe. You're about to respond when you catch Rafe’s gaze from across the club. His intense blue eyes lock onto yours, and to your surprise, he starts walking toward your table. Your friends' chatter fades into the background as he approaches, and you can feel the tension rising.
"Guys?" Kaycee whisper yells, her eyes darting nervously between you and Rafe. Before you can answer, Rafe is standing beside you. Without a word, he wraps his arms around your shoulders, pulling you close.
Your friends silently watch as he plants a soft kiss on your lips. The world seems to pause for a moment, the only sound your heart pounding in your chest. When he finally pulls away, he gives you a smile that’s reserved just for you. "Hey, babe," he says, his voice low and intimate. You smile back, feeling a warmth spread through you. "Hey, Rafe."
Your friends are staring, their mouths open in shock. Kaycee looks like she might faint, and Chelsea's eyes are so wide they might pop out of her head. You can practically hear their thoughts racing. "Hi ladies," Rafe nods his head to your friends as they all stumble across a response.
Rafe chuckles, clearly enjoying the reaction. "I'll see you later yeah?" he murmurs as you hum in response, giving you one last squeeze before heading to his own table. As he walks away, your friends erupt into a flurry of whispers and exclamations. "Are you serious?" Lily asks, her voice a mix of disbelief and excitement. "You and Rafe Cameron?"
You shrug, attempting to play it cool but failing miserably. "Yeah, we've been seeing each other for a while now." Kaycee shakes her head, still in shock. "I can't believe you didn't tell us! All this time, we thought you were just committed to your single streak."
Jada's eyes practically sparkle with excitement. "Not gonna lie, I've been rooting for you two since our days at Kook Academy." You laugh. Across the club, you see Rafe sitting with his friends, who are equally stunned by what they just saw. They keep glancing over at you, clearly trying to piece together how their friend who was notorious for not doing relationships end up with you.
Rafe catches your eye and gives you a wink, his usual grumpiness replaced with a rare, genuine smile as you smile back.
~
As Rafe walks away from your table, the whispers and gasps of your friends gradually fade into the background. You watch him stride confidently across the pool area, his usual brooding expression softened by a small, private smile. He reaches his table, where his friends are already in various states of shock and confusion.
Kelce is the first to speak, his voice a mix of disbelief and curiosity. "Dude, what was that?" He leans forward, his eyes wide with surprise. "You're telling me you bagged Y/n Y/l/n?"
Rafe drops into his seat and picks up his drink, taking a long sip before answering. "Yeah, we’ve been together for a while now." His tone is casual, but you can see the satisfaction in his eyes as he lets the news sink in.
Topper, who has been silent until now, finally finds his voice. "How the hell did that happen?" he asks, still staring at Rafe as if he's grown a second head. "She’s turned down just about everyone on this island who’s tried, and that includes me!"
Rafe chuckles, clearly enjoying the attention. "That's just cause you guys aren't me" he says with a cocky smirk. "Or maybe I just didn’t give up." The table falls silent for a moment as his friends process this new information. Then, one by one, they start to bombard him with questions.
"How long have you been seeing her?" asks Kelce, still trying to wrap his head around the idea. "Why didn’t you tell us?" adds Topper, his tone a mix of hurt and curiosity. "And how did you even get her to go out with you?" another friend chimes in.
Rafe leans back in his chair, his demeanor relaxed and confident. "We’ve been seeing each other for a couple of months now," he begins, glancing over at you with a soft smile. "I didn’t tell you guys because we wanted to keep it private. Didn’t want everyone in our business, you know?"
Topper raises an eyebrow. "And how did you manage to win her over? She’s not exactly known for giving people a chance." Rafe laughs, a deep, genuine sound that surprises even himself. "Honestly, it wasn’t that hard," he admits with a grin.
"I had my eyes on her for a while. She’s smart and doesn’t put up with any bullshit. 'S what I like about her." He glances over at you again, mesmerised by how radiant you looked, giggling at something your friend said.
His friends exchange looks, a mix of admiration and incredulity on their faces. It’s clear they’re seeing a side of Rafe they never knew existed. "Wow, man," says Kelce, shaking his head with a grin. "I never thought I’d see the day when Rafe Cameron is all soft and in love." Rafe playfully rolls his eyes, "You guys are idiots."
Topper claps Rafe on the shoulder, a wide grin on his face. "Good for you, dude. Seriously. If anyone can handle your grumpy ass, it’s her." Rafe laughs again, the sound blending into the ambient noise of the country club. He glances back over at you, catching your eye once more. You smile at him, a warmth spreading through your chest as you see the genuine happiness in his eyes.

MASTERLIST -`✮´- Rafe Cameron x Kook!Reader x JJ Maybank
Summary: Kook!Reader’s world is upended by betrayal, and her only way forward might lie with the most unlikely person—JJ Maybank. But as they build a new life together, old flames and past mistakes refuse to stay buried.
Warnings: mentioning fighting, mentioning abortion, pregnancy symptoms, kind of depression, mentioning alcohol and drugs
previous - next
Sometimes, the reason we go through certain things is simply that we don’t care about the consequences of our actions or decisions. You didn’t think it through, didn’t realize. Calling it a 'youthful mistake' would have been foolish—especially when the mistake is this big.
You took a risk. You both did, as if it were just a game. The harshest blow was realizing that, because you were the ones who did it. You threw caution to the wind and made every reckless choice possible.
But now, it wasn’t about a fleeting pleasure. It was the baby growing inside you. That was the reality staring you in the face. Hard to believe, but you were pregnant.
You were aware that your whole life was about to change. You didn’t know if it would be for the better or worse. You’d never seriously thought about the idea of starting a family before. Being a mother at 20 wasn’t part of the plan. Building a family, raising a child…
You’d never considered that kind of responsibility. More than that, you didn’t even know if you were ready for it.
The morning sickness was hitting harder each day. You’d lost your appetite. You didn’t even want to drink water.
It had only been a few days since you got the positive test result. The moment you saw the double lines, you ran out and bought a few more tests. It was hard to believe. You clung to the hope that it was a mistake. You wanted to believe that. The idea of it being real frightened you more than you thought it would.
The thought always made you anxious, yet somewhere deep down, you convinced yourself you weren’t pregnant, thought it was just some illness. Maybe food poisoning, maybe something else, but not pregnancy.
It couldn’t be. Experiencing something like this at 20 was too much to handle. You grew up in a well-off family; you were always part of the Figure Eight, but that didn’t ease your worries.
Not having financial worries didn’t mean you weren’t afraid of your family’s reaction. Who would accept their 20-year-old daughter being pregnant outside of marriage?
You couldn’t even imagine how you’d react as a parent. This was reckless. What you did wasn’t something most people would do. Just because you like walking on the edge, does that mean you have to? Would you jump into the ocean, knowing you’d drown?
But you did.
Even though you hadn’t been careful, you took Plan B. But which day did you skip it? You couldn’t remember.
You didn’t know if it was you or Rafe who forgot to be cautious.
It didn’t matter anymore. Three out of four tests had been positive. You were carrying his child. You were pregnant, and worse, you felt utterly helpless.
One of the hardest things about living in the Figure Eight was not knowing who was real and who was fake. You had no one to share this with, no one who could help or support you. Except Rafe.
He was your only reality. Your boyfriend, your confidant, the person who understood you best. You were like two halves of a whole. You didn’t deny that he had a dark side, but with you, he was different. It was as if he allowed you to see the real Rafe, let you in.
The peace you felt when thinking of him turned to unease the moment you realized you were carrying his child. The man who once brought a smile to your face now filled you with anxiety because you didn’t know how he’d react.
You had no idea how to tell him. Not just him, but also your family. Even if you couldn’t imagine Rafe’s reaction, you knew you’d be the biggest disappointment in your family’s eyes.
You didn’t want anyone to see those tests. You couldn’t risk anyone finding out before you told them. You thought about throwing them away, burning them—anything to get rid of them. But they’d find them. You could hide them, but eventually, someone would see.
You were losing your mind. The thought of someone finding out was driving you to paranoia. You tried to think of the safest way.
That’s why, when evening came, you didn’t hesitate to toss the pregnancy tests into the ocean. Your worry was turning into paranoia. You started thinking you looked pregnant, that it was obvious when you looked in the mirror. But it wasn’t. Maybe you were only a month or two along, and that wasn’t possible. No one could tell you were pregnant. But whenever your mom looked at you, you panicked, as though she’d somehow know. Instead, they thought you’d started using drugs.
Your behavior had changed; you looked and acted different, both physically and mentally. They were worried about you.
And you knew it. You noticed, but worse, you were scared for yourself. You were afraid of what the future would bring, afraid of people’s reactions.
Days had passed since you took the tests, and without realizing it, you’d shut yourself off from the world. You hadn’t meant to, but you were terrified that someone might see you and guess the truth. But they couldn’t know—you were just being paranoid.
When it came to handling crises, you were probably one of the worst people alive. In moments of crisis, your biggest fears came to the surface. No one would say you had leadership qualities. You were obviously terrible at managing situations. Maybe you should have learned how to handle this, worked on it—but you never did.
And of course, it affected your life negatively, as it was now. Your communication with Rafe had dwindled. Every time you were with him, you worried you’d let something slip. You were on the verge of tears all the time. You were afraid he’d notice, afraid he’d think something was wrong with you.
You’d pushed him away, which was one of the biggest mistakes you’d ever made.
You had no idea how many times he texted you, how many times he called. You hadn’t counted. In two week, you’d met only twice, and even then, it was brief. He wasn’t just worried about you; he was worried about your relationship.
He thought you wanted to break up with him, thought you were losing interest. At first, this thought made him sad, but now it was making him angry. He was starting to take his frustration out on everyone around him. The idea of you breaking up with him haunted him every time he couldn’t see or reach you, and it made him furious.
He was exhausted from trying to reach a compromise. He started to think you didn’t even want to make things work. He thought you were ghosting him, slowly pulling away. In some ways, he was right, but the person you wanted to distance yourself from was never him. It was what you had to do that you wanted to avoid. You didn’t know how he’d react if you told him. On top of that, you felt ashamed. Because you were the one who put yourself in this situation. You did this to yourself. You should never have played that risky game in the first place.
You weren’t looking for someone to blame, of course. This was something you both shared. It was a thrill you both enjoyed. And now, here was the result, inside you.
You knew you shouldn’t have shut him out, that you should have told him the moment you found out, but you couldn’t. You were scared, and it consumed every part of your life and social life…
You just needed a little more time. Just a bit more. You needed a few more days to process this. Then you’d tell Rafe, and after that, your family.
But when had fate ever been on your side? When had it ever smiled upon you?
The way you were shutting Rafe out was driving him crazy. Ghosting him weighed on him so heavily that he was about to lose his mind. You were the one he relaxed around, the one who brought him peace… so why were you pushing him away?
He couldn’t understand. He turned to drinking more, got into fights. He even asked Topper for advice. But he waited. He waited for you to come to him, for you to explain. Maybe he thought you’d heard bad news at a family breakfast. His mind went to such extremes that he even wondered if your family had asked you to marry someone for a business merger. But still, he held back. He gave himself and you time, waiting for you to choose him again.
But you never came.
He texted, called. You left him in limbo with single-word replies. Every day, he checked your Instagram stories, looking for any sign, just a hint of how you were doing, what you were up to. He went around to all your favorite places, hoping to see you, but you were nowhere to be found. He thought you were avoiding him like he was a plague.
After two weeks, he couldn’t hold back anymore. Not any longer. Rafe had always been intense, quick-tempered. Everyone knew he had anger issues. You knew, too. But even so, he held back. He stopped and waited for you.
But when you didn’t go to him, he decided to come to you.
It was a split-second decision. He didn’t think much about the consequences. He didn’t care if your family was home. All he wanted was to hear from you what was going on, to know why you’d been ghosting him.
As he got into his car and drove toward your house, he didn’t send you a text or give you a call like he usually did. You didn’t think anything of it. You didn’t expect anything bad, but somehow, that feeling in your chest hinted that today would be a rough day.
You woke up and had breakfast. When your family left, you went from your room to the living room, wrapped yourself in your favorite blanket, and put on one of your favorite shows. But even though your eyes were on the screen, you weren’t watching. Your mind was elsewhere. You were so panicked that you were terrified someone might find the pregnancy test—even though, even if they did, they wouldn’t know it was yours.
You planned to spend the whole day in the living room. That was your plan. But even if it was your plan, God seemed to have different plans for you.
You realized this the moment the door was pounded on, echoing through the house. You didn’t know what was happening, but your gut was already screaming that it was Rafe. Your heartbeat sped up. Was it the strength of your intuition or a consequence of something else you’d done? You weren’t sure, but you knew the person outside was Rafe Cameron.
What were you supposed to say? What kind of lie could you tell?
You had nothing but the truth.
With your heart pounding, you gently pushed the blanket off yourself. The pounding on the door didn’t slow. Even though you had a feeling it was Rafe, the moment you heard him shouting your name from outside, you were certain.
Trying to steady your trembling hands, you held onto something for balance as you got up. Your legs were shaking. You didn’t feel ready to talk, but then again, how could anyone be ready for something like this?
He was angry; you knew it. If you’d been in his position, you might have been even angrier. You two were in a relationship, and what you’d done was foolish, plain and simple.
As you walked to the door, you tried to control your breathing, which had become erratic. Your heartbeat seemed to speed up even more, as impossible as that seemed. You made it to the door, and after taking one last breath, you opened it. After days apart, you finally saw him again. When your eyes met, you exhaled involuntarily. He wasn’t looking at you the way he used to. There was no tenderness; he was angry. His hair was disheveled, dark circles framed his eyes. His clothes were wrinkled, and he looked like he hadn’t eaten properly in days. His brow was furrowed. You couldn’t even begin to guess how furious he was. His knuckles and cheekbones were bruised and scabbed over, and even though you didn’t know what happened, you could tell he’d been in a fight.
But even as his eyes met yours, he couldn’t find words. It was as if he was at a loss. What would he even say? Would he ask, 'Why?' On his way to your house, he hadn’t even considered what you might talk about. He hadn’t thought about what you might explain to him. All he wanted was you. The happiness you’d once had.
His lips didn’t part. His gaze swept over you. You knew you didn’t look well. You hadn’t really taken care of yourself. You’d spent days lying in bed, only leaving your room when absolutely necessary. You hadn’t even slept well. Your mind had been tormented, torn between terminating the pregnancy and having the baby. Nights were sleepless, and when you did sleep, you were plagued by nightmares. You’d been in pain, in a way, but you didn’t want anyone to see it.
Rafe raised his hand to his head and closed his eyes, trying to hold himself together. He could tell you weren’t in great shape, and as he looked at you with those anxious, pained eyes, he realized he couldn’t bring himself to be angry. He took a deep breath before speaking, and it didn’t seem like he was struggling to find words. He’d never been one to hold back his thoughts; he always said whatever came to mind. But he wanted to control himself, didn’t want to take this approach with you.
“Can I come in?” His voice wasn’t exactly asking. He was going to come in regardless. He just thought he’d be polite. After all, this wasn’t a breakup; it was just that things weren’t going well between you.
The coldness in his voice unsettled you, but you nodded and stepped back. You didn’t feel like you could say anything. How could you look him in the eyes, let alone offer an excuse? Or would you just blurt out, 'I’m pregnant'? What would you even do?
You were sinking deeper and deeper into this mess.
Without waiting for you, Rafe walked into the living room. He knew where everything was; it wasn’t his first time here. The chill between you two as he walked through the room stung. Every corner held a memory. It wasn’t just about sex—even though those were his favorite moments with you. It was also the laughter you shared, the first time you cooked for him in your kitchen, the moments sitting on the balcony, talking and watching the ocean… It was as if every memory was flashing before his eyes. He didn’t want to lose you, but he also needed to understand why you were acting this way.
He heard your footsteps behind him as he stopped in front of the sliding door, staring outside, trying to figure out what to say.
Thoughts of talking to Topper and Kelce flashed through Rafe’s mind, but he quickly pushed them away. The memory of Kelce’s insinuation—that you might have someone else—only fueled his anger. It wasn’t that he believed the idea; he knew you weren’t that type of person. No matter what happened between you, he respected you and was sure you’d never do such a thing. The fact that a so-called friend would casually accuse you like that only made him more uneasy.
You watched him in silence. It was clear he wasn’t going to speak first. You couldn’t tell if he was simply angry with you or if there was something more—perhaps hurt. It was hard to read him, especially when he didn’t want to be read. Rafe Cameron was good at hiding his emotions, and while he was generally open with you, now you couldn’t understand him.
When you realized he wasn’t going to say anything, you stepped forward and started to speak, only to find yourself lost for words. Your gaze drifted over Rafe, finally settling on his hands. You were worried, but truthfully, his injuries were just an excuse to break the silence.
“Your hands…” you murmured, your voice trembling. “Are you okay?”
Hearing your voice after so many days made him almost forget to breathe. He hated that you were his weakness—hated it with every fiber of his being. But his curiosity and anger hadn’t faded. Even if he hated it, his love for you outweighed his frustration.
As he slowly turned around, he looked down at his bruised knuckles, examining them. He’d lost his temper with Kelce for the things he’d said about you, but he didn’t consider it important enough to mention. He thought about responding, but he hadn’t come here to answer questions—he was here for answers.
If you were going to leave him, he’d rather hear it from your lips than be ghosted like some fling.
“Where were you?” he asked, ignoring your question. It didn’t matter to him anyway. He raised his head, watching you intently. He wanted to understand why you were acting this way, why you’d left him so confused that he’d started doubting himself—wondering if he’d done something to hurt you. Running a hand through his hair, he kept his gaze on you, demanding an answer.
“Home,” you finally managed. For a moment, he thought you were joking. You’d been home all this time? You’d had every opportunity to call or text him, yet you’d chosen to ignore him?
Rafe let out a bitter laugh, glancing around the room. He was afraid of what he might yell if he kept looking at you, and he didn’t want to become that person.
You leaned on the couch to steady yourself. It wasn’t the pregnancy making you feel unwell; it was the guilt eating away at you, making you feel like a terrible person. You didn’t want to cry or make him feel worse. You should’ve told him right away when you found out.
Biting your lip to hold back tears, you struggled to keep your emotions in check. Even if you weren’t ready to tell him, he deserved to know. But the words felt sealed inside, as if they’d made a pact never to leave your lips.
As you lowered your head, you heard him say your name. Clearly, he was struggling to keep calm. He started pacing, his voice trembling with anger. “Do you think I’m an idiot?” His gaze remained fixed on you, his movements tense as he continued.
“Look,” he began, trying to lower his voice. He was choosing his words carefully, but it didn’t help calm your racing heart. “I don’t know what happened that day, but clearly—clearly something happened that drove you away from me. I need to know. Do you understand?”
Could you tell him? You were terrified of his reaction. But maybe it wouldn’t be as bad as you feared.
He called your name again as you looked away, his voice filled with an almost desperate edge. He clenched his fists, his eyes narrowed, watching you as he took a step closer. When he finally stood in front of you, your breath caught, your throat tight with the urge to cry.
He lifted your chin, bringing your gaze level with his, his brows softening with a hint of sympathy. His hands threaded through your hair, his eyes never leaving yours. But looking back at him was nearly impossible; tears pooled in your eyes as you bit your lip, struggling to hold back.
“If you’re going to break up with me—” he started, and you shook your head, biting your lip harder. Breaking up had never crossed your mind.
Without the answer he wanted, he closed his eyes, pulling his hands away as he stepped back, trying to make sense of it all. “Then what!” he yelled, his patience snapping. He needed to know what was going on with you—why you’d been ignoring him for two weeks, why you hadn’t called or texted. Each shout made you flinch; you weren’t used to him raising his voice.
He turned, muttering, “I’m going to lose my fucking mind!” You took a step back as he kicked the couch in frustration, hands in his hair as he stared out the window.
He kicked the couch again, letting out a strangled cry. “Fuck!” He was breathing hard, and it was the first time you’d seen him this upset. He usually kept his cool.
“Please, don’t…” you spoke in a shaky voice. The tears were threatening to fall, and his anger scared you—not for yourself but for him.
He turned back to you, his chest rising and falling rapidly as he tried to steady his breathing. “What’s going on with you?” he pressed, his voice thick with tension. “I’m right here! Just talk to me.”
But you remained silent, your gaze dropping as you bit your lip harder. Finally, his patience wore thin. "Fuck! You don’t get to do this! You don’t get to disappear, and then act like it’s no big deal—like I’m supposed to just… what, wait around for you? I can’t—”
“I’m pregnant.”
The words slipped from your lips. You didn’t need to look up to know that they’d stunned him. His whole demeanor changed. His expression froze, his eyes widened, and then hardened into something unreadable. He ran a hand over his face as though he could erase what he’d heard.
“Pregnant?” he repeated, his voice flat, as if testing the word on his tongue. His gaze lingered on you, filled with shock, confusion, and something deeper that tugged at his heart. He couldn’t believe it, but he knew it was possible. There’d been times when the two of you had walked a fine line, but he’d thought you’d always been careful.
When you finally met his gaze, his anger seemed to dissipate. He looked at you, searching for the truth in your face. You sniffled, nodding as your eyes filled with tears. He stared at you, each second of silence amplifying his heartbeat. Finally, he spoke, his voice quiet and laced with shock.
“I thought… I thought you were on the pill?”
You nodded, swallowing hard. “I don’t know when it happened. Maybe when we were drunk… or—I don’t know.” You felt as if you were standing on the edge of a cliff, a wave of vulnerability washing over you. You waited for anything—a word, reassurance, even anger—but Rafe’s response was none of those.
Rafe looked down, running his fingers through his hair as he exhaled slowly. When he finally looked up again, his expression softened, revealing something unexpected: a rawness, almost painfully vulnerable. “I… never thought about it…” He shook his head slightly, pausing to search for the right words. He ran his hand through his hair and avoided eye contact, looking around instead. “I… care about you. You know that. But… I don’t know if I can do this. I mean, I’m not ready to be a dad. Not now. Maybe not ever.” His voice was low and hesitant, as though he still couldn’t quite believe the situation.
Your gaze dropped, and you couldn’t look at him. He wasn’t looking at you either. The problem was, you really loved him. Deep down, you’d cherished the thought of a family with him, even though you knew he’d reject it. You weren’t sure if you were ready to be a mother, but the thought filled you with peace. You had expected a negative reaction from him, and deep down, a part of you had hoped he would accept this baby.
“I know it’s unexpected, but—” you began, finally looking up at him.
Rafe cut you off, his voice low and uncertain. “Look, I love you, okay? I love what we have. I don’t want anything to change.” His eyes flashed with a glimmer of desperation. “We don’t have to do this. There are options.”
His words pierced your heart. “Options?” you repeated, your voice barely louder than a whisper. The meaning of his words sank in, heavy and cold. You had considered this too, but hearing it from someone else, especially him, made your chest feel weighted down. He’d voiced something you hadn’t even dared to say aloud.
Rafe didn’t avert his gaze, running his hand through his hair with his shoulders tense. “I just don’t think we’re ready. I’m not ready.” He looked at you. You could see the fear and resistance in his eyes. “This could ruin everything we have… everything we’ve built. I just thought… maybe we could handle it, so things could go back to normal.”
You took a shaky step back, your legs trembling. His words weighed heavily on your chest, making you feel like you were shattering, piece by piece. “You think we can just ‘handle it’ and everything will be fine?” Your voice cracked, but you didn’t care. The pain in your chest was unbearable, and your heart pounded with the weight of it.
Rafe reached out to you in a few strides, his hand extended. You flinched and pulled back. “Please, try to understand,” he pleaded. “I love you. I want you, just you. Not this… not this.”
Tears stung your eyes, your voice barely a whisper. “I… don’t know what to do. I don’t know if I want this… You—” You cut yourself off. You didn’t know what to say. Neither of you knew how to be parents, but what if you wanted to keep it? What if you didn’t want an abortion—what would he do then?
Rafe let out a deep breath, frustration growing in his eyes. He was searching within himself for options. He didn’t want this to happen; he didn’t want to lose you, but a baby? He couldn’t do this. “I don’t know how to be that person, okay? I don’t know how to be a dad. I can barely take care of myself.” He looked at you sincerely, his face full of pain. “But I know I can’t do this.” He searched for a sign of agreement, a supportive expression on your face. He wanted to see something positive that would keep your relationship intact, but all he found was disappointment.
Rafe was right in some ways. But you didn’t know how to be a mother either. You could learn together—why was he shutting it down? You pulled back your tears, swallowed the pain in your throat, and steadied yourself before looking Rafe in the eyes. “So… if I decide to keep it? What then? Do you want me to do this alone?” The truth hit Rafe like a punch, knocking the breath out of him. He had assumed you would agree, that you would choose him. He hadn’t even considered this possibility. “After everything, are you just… going to leave?”
The silence that followed was deafening, and though Rafe hadn’t said it out loud, his answer hung in the air. He dropped his gaze, and deep down, he knew he’d made his choice. He didn’t have the time for a baby. He wasn’t ready to be a father. He was certainly not ready for such a responsibility. This was something he imagined happening far into the future, maybe in his thirties—but definitely not at twenty-two.
You knew his answer. You understood. You took a few steps back, creating distance between you as you drew a shaky breath, your voice barely holding together. “I can’t believe I trusted you. I thought that—” The words caught in your throat. You couldn’t pull yourself together, feeling on the verge of breaking down.
Rafe’s eyes shone with pain, but he said nothing; his silence spoke louder than any words he could have offered.
You wiped away your tears, and with every passing second, your heart broke a little more. “I guess I was wrong.” Your voice trembled, full of a sadness you couldn’t hide.
Rafe assumed that the conversation was over and the decisions had been made. There was nothing left to say. He had his answer, but he didn’t feel any relief. He couldn’t look at you. What he wanted was certain, clear, and final. He turned and walked away, the weight of his decision pressing down on him. He didn’t look back, didn’t expect you to stop him because he knew you wouldn’t. He hadn’t wanted the relationship to end. He loved you, but even that love couldn’t overcome a responsibility like this.
Leaving you alone and helpless in your home, he walked toward his car. He didn’t want one last look. If he looked, he might regret the impact of his choice on you, but this was it. He wasn’t ready and never would be. Even being able to handle a serious relationship was a big step for him, but the idea of a child? He couldn’t accept it. Getting in his car, he hoped that one day you would understand.

► masterlist ◄
social media au, 18+ mdni
pairings: jj x kook!reader, rafe x kook!sofia, rafe & kook!reader are best friends
warnings: swearing
summary: By the time Charlotte Langley was 24, she was a proud mom of two sons, Rafe and JJ. While the two boys had different dads, that didn’t stop her from raising them together and teaching them that a blended family could still be a family. The two boys grew up inseparable, always looking out for the other. Life was perfect. But when Rafe turned 7 and JJ was barely 5, Charlotte found out she had a fast growing cancer. The death of the boys’ mother sent the town reeling and what use to be a happy blended family was no more. Ward cut off all contact with the Maybanks and Luke followed suit. Without their mother there to bridge the gap, the brothers grew up resenting the other. Now the two brothers constantly face off in Kildare’s motocross races, the one thing they still share from their childhood. It’s also starting to piss Rafe off that JJ keeps eyeing his childhood best friend. Two brothers. One island. Here we go.

The Old Boys Club | Rafe Cameron
Author’s Note: Hiii! This is depraved. MINORS DO NOT INTERACT. You are responsible for your own media consumption. I was watching The Batman and I loved the aesthetic of The Iceberg Lounge so that was the inspiration, alongside a Selina Kyle-esque waitress. Please enjoy. A Part 2 is possible :)

The lights were red and flashing, one blink after the other, blinding you for a millisecond when the flits of darkness overcame the haze of smoke and ignorance. The warehouse-turned-nightclub had so many people in it, too many, that there was no room for air. Each one surrendering themselves to the night. To the shadows which protected their guilty pleasures with a vengeance, hiding them from the shame that came with exposure.
Smoking, drinking, alcohol, drugs, sex. It was all blurred together into one unfocused scene where bodies became one and nobody cared for anything. Looking around at the mass of bodies and addictions, you realised why they clutched to the latter. For without them, the room would be unbearable.
You’d never understood the experience. Going to night clubs and staying out all night had never been on your radar, especially not with your conservative mother. She liked you in your room, cozied up with a book and tea.
That was all you had ever known. And it was something you came to enjoy. In college you were never the wild party girl, always too uncertain to feel safe at the scene. The rules your mother had set clung to you like a vine.
But that’s what he liked about you most. He’d had his days of partying to the point where he couldn’t remember his own name. He’d slept with the drunk girls who he’d regret afterwards every time. He’d done every drug under the sun. So when Rafe Cameron saw you, the sheltered, naive little doe that didn’t speak until spoken to - he was dazzled by what he saw - an opportunity.
That was unknown to you though. Rafe Cameron came into your life like a wrecking ball. A tall, strong, successful and welcomed wrecking ball. One that had you kept, that protected you and never left you wanting. You were wholly fulfilled now that you had met your soulmate, who worked day and night to provide a lifestyle that according to him, was everything you could need.
He’d been at the office since the early hours of the morning, too early for you to cook his breakfast and kiss him goodbye. It was a Friday night though which meant that straight after work, he went to Interlude. A lounge and nightclub that housed the city’s most notorious mob bosses. You hadn’t, and didn’t expect to see him until the morning.
That’s why you were surprised that his assistant called you, mid baking cookies, informing you that your husband wanted you to pay him a visit at the lounge tonight.
The request was odd, truly out of character. Rafe had laid down some ground rules, guidelines as he dubbed them - which you willingly obliged, and one of them was no alcohol, no drugs and no clubs. You could go to parties as long as he was in attendance.
Was this a test? You wondered for a second. But another rule was to trust and listen to Rafe. You figured it was better to go and find out than not go at all. Besides, you missed him already and it had been less than 24 hours since he was inside of you.
You got changed from your nightie into something more appropriate for leaving the house. You dawned a casual pink sundress, and slipped a black bow around your hair. Rafe preferred you in the feminine, and you’d come to enjoy it. You looked at your walk in closet and saw only flats. Another rule: No heels whatsoever. (He liked how small you looked beside him). You brought a jacket just in case. Having never been to a club, you didn’t no if it would be cold or not.
Yet when you made the distance from Rafe’s private driver into the club, it was then that you could feel the heat which controlled the room. It seeped into your skin and your lungs and you then decided that bringing a coat was a bad idea.
The lights continued to blind you until you saw someone, a waitress who was wearing a pink wig and, well, barely anything else by the looks of her diamante bra and mini skirt - which was more like a belt. You all of a sudden felt ridiculous in your sundress and became aware of how every woman in here was wearing sultry fabrics barely concealing their skin. Whereas you looked like you were ready for a picnic. These were the women Rafe saw on a regular basis?
The waitress’s eyes flitted toward your lost looking figure - doe eyes taking up half your face as your expression gave away that you were both scared and lost. They’d eat you up if you didn’t find who you were looking for. Lord knows you weren’t here for fun, that much the waitress could tell.
You could see her bejewelled heels clacking in your direction and you looked up to meet her eyes.
“You lost sweetie?” She asked, cocking her hip against the empty tray she held. Up close, you could see her bra stuffed with wads of cash.
“Um- yeah. I’m looking for someone. Do you know a-“ though you were cut off as a bunch of rowdy men in suits shoved you as they made their way through. You shrunk in on yourself while the waitress glared at the men. She smoky gaze returned to you,
“Sorry sugar. Guys in here can get carried away. Who d’ya need?”
You exhaled slowly before speaking again. “I’m looking for a business man. My husband. Rafe? Rafe Cameron? He told me to - to come here but I’ve been looking for 30 minutes and can’t see him.”
At the mention of the name Rafe Cameron, the waitress’ eyes dawned a screen of something. Something intangible. Like she all of a sudden knew something. She looked you up and down once more and nodded.
“Yeah I know him. He’s like our most important customer. You won’t find him in here though.” She nodded smugly as she looked over the balcony into the crowd.
You looked with her, disappointed. “Oh. Well do-“ you increased your volume, speaking over the club anthems and tilted your head up as she crouched to hear you better, “-do you know where I could find him, please?”
The waitress smirked and rolled her eyes. Of course Rafe married the girl next door type. You seemed sickeningly sweet. “Sure sweets. He’s in Havoc.”
At your confused reaction, she elaborated. “You know, the club within the club? It’s downstairs. Through those doors. Password is ‘10th Circle’. Say you’re with Rafe, and they’ll take you to’m.” She points you to a set of steel doors lined with 2 bodyguards.
You thanked her as she sashayed away. You approached the doors and the bodyguards looked you up and down - and laughed to one another. “No way, baby. VIPs only.”
You just wanted to see your husband. “10th Circle. I’m with- I am Rafe Cameron’s wife. He invited me.” You say holding up your phone to show your screensaver of you and Rafe at your small, intimate wedding. “See?”
The guards looked at each other with suspicion. Having the password must be enough though, because they opened the doors without any qualms. You heard something just before the slam of the seal shut. “Did you know he was married?”
You went down the stairs which was less crowded, but more sinful already. On the stairwell you passed men wearing suits whispering in women’s ears. Women who were blackout drunk, or close to it. Women who were being handed hundreds of dollars wearing fur coats and nothing underneath. Some of which looked to be enjoying it and some of them scared. You immediately felt unsafe.
You were cautious as you walked through; shoulders hunched as you tried not bumping into anyone, making yourself as unnoticeable as possible. Your out of place attire made that somewhat difficult. But then you were grateful, because finally someone, the one, recognised you.
“Fuck, here she is- Baby! I’m here!” Your husband shouted from a secluded corner. He was surrounded by other men, one with a girl on their arms. You recognised a few of them as being his associates. Topper and Kelce and JJ in particular.
You could tell he wasn’t drunk thankfully. None of them were as they focused on playing their card games. “Hi.” You said, not raising your voice for anyone else to hear. The music was much less quiet than the chaos of upstairs, much to your gratitude.
He grinned, pulling you towards his seated form, in between his manspread. “There you are, bunny. What took you so long?” You took his hand to intertwine your fingers with his, having missed his touch.
“Got lost, I thought you were upstairs but a nice lady helped me.” You said, basking in your husband’s gaze. “Aw honey. You hear that fellas? Lil bunny here got lost tryna’ find me.”
His friends laughed as they sifted through their cards. One sitting beside Rafe, JJ, looked up and took out his cigarette- effectively blowing it in your face. “Poor girl. You miss your husband, doll?”
Rafe barked out a laugh but you were distracted by lightly coughing out the smoke directed into your airways. “Of course she did man, can’t go more than a few hours without rubbing up on me. It’s like she’s an addict or something.”
You frowned once more. Why was he acting like this? Sure he’s usually controlling and has a more…masculine sense of humour. You usually didn’t mind, yet now you felt like everyone knew something you didn’t. But you supposed he wasn’t wrong. You weren’t ashamed to say that you loved your husband, that you needed him.
“Huh Bunny baby? You miss me? Who’d you miss?” His friends laughed a chorus of stifled chitters and some even “oohed”. Rafe squeezed your thigh, and you knew what he wanted.
“I missed you…” you looked around at his friends who waited for you avidly. Patiently. You felt like a fish in a fish-tank. “Daddy.” The private nickname had officially made its debut. You were embarrassed, but also more embarrassed by JJ who was now staring at your tits.
Rafe grinned which made you breathe a little lighter, your joints a little less coiled. He yanked you down to sit atop his leg, your own surrounding his right knee. His eyes flitted in amusement to his posse, “See that boys? Bet none of you got a bitch at home calling you that.”
“Nah, my girlfriend just told me the other day she doesn’t want kids. Like, what’s the point of us staying together then? Only thing a woman’s good for after all.” Said Kelce, with some large chested girl on his arm licking his ear. She laughed, along with Rafe and company, at his crude joke, which you found far from funny. “Well, maybe not the only thing,” he uttered before her hand gripped his knee.
“You gonna dump her then?” Asked Topper, Rafe’s CFO, who tilted his head as he assessed your legs. Your freshly shaved, shiny, short legs.
“Don’t know. She gives good head, so that’s definitely a factor. Maybe I should keep her around and until I try to find my future wife on the side, you know?” Kelce said taking a smoke of his cigarette. “What do you think?” He jutted his chin across the space to you.
In a weird synchronicity, everyone turned their heads to you, awaiting your input. There was a metaphysical spotlight on you and you tightened your hold on Rafe’s hand. He started to kiss up and down your ear, which was not helping how distracted you were.
“Um- maybe you could give her a chance? If you really like her enough to have her as your girlfriend it might be worth it to talk…with her.” You slowed, immediately regretting speaking at all as each man started to smirk and look at one another again.
“Jesus Rafe, where’d you even find this girl? She’s so…cute.” Settled Topper. You thought he was handsome, but nobody could compare to your husband. Rafe simply shrugged and chuckled in your ear before returning to his perusal. “Some dump she needed rescued from.”
Kelce sighed. “Why’d I even ask a chick? Not like they know anything. It’s either dumb, or dumber.”
You could hear Rafe huff out a laugh. “True. There’s nothing up here,” he tapped your temples, “except my name.”
You turned to ask him why he was acting like this. So not the sweet, protective Rafe you knew, “Raf-m!” Cut off, by Rafe shoving his tongue down your throat. You were stunned before you responded, avidly with passion.
At least one thing hadn’t changed about your husband, he still kissed you with the same enthusiasm. Perhaps, with even more than normal. When he eventually pulled away, you whined and your lips traced after him - uncaring of who was watching.
“That’s one way to shut em’ up when they get uppity. And that ain’t what you call me bun. How many times am I gonna have to remind you tonight? Cmon, use your head for once. Know it’s in there somewhere.” He held an intense eye contact with you.
“Give her a break, Cameron. She might need a minute.” Kelce slapped Topper’s shoulder as they both looked to you.
“Daddy…” You whined, then hid your face in your chest out of embarrassment. Rafe said that it wasn’t something you should call him in public, yet here he was. All gorgeous in his suit with his collar popped and tie loosened, commanding you as though you were in the bedroom back home.
The only indication that he was not mad at you was the pet names he bestowed upon you, ‘Bunny’ and ‘angel’ being your favourites. “Aw honey, Daddy’s just joking. Y’know you’re my best girl. Huh?” He felt you smile into his chest. “Huh?” He bounced his knee, digging into your pussy, and you nodded. You could feel your body clench.
“Rafe’s chick might have a point though Kelc. Maybe you should keep the broad around. She’ll probably change her mind about having kids.” Voiced JJ, whose eyes continually checked out your cleavage.
Rafe piped up as he massaged your scalp from the way you hid in his chest. “Yeah, girls hardly ever know what they want until we decide for them anyways. Plus, you’d have the kids and still get to keep the good head,”
“I mean look at Bunny here, she thought she was gonna be a nurse or something fore’ I came in. Only cost me two dozen or so grand to pay off her student debt and convince her to drop out n’ marry me.”
Every time Rafe brings that up you feel a sense of guilt. That was sooo much money. Maybe not to a multi-millionaire like him. But to small town you, it was everything. “Thank you, daddy.” In response, a kiss on the cheek.
Topper sat up, “Can you blame her? She’d be a good slutty nurse. Waiting on you hand and foot. There’s a halloween costume idea right there.”
Rafe turned to them, “As if she doesn’t already do that. Little girl knows where she belongs.” You didn’t have time to be confused as the sound and pain of Rafe roughly slapping your upper thigh sounded throughout the secluded corner. Your pussy wettened, and you wished you weren’t wearing thin underwear.
JJ, ever so wise with a big mouth JJ, had some advice. “Well the way I see it Kelce, you have options.”
“Uh-huh. And they are?”
“You could always switch out her birth control. Then she’s pregnant in no time and it won’t look like your fault, so she can’t be mad. Plus, chicks’ tits get bigger when pregnant. S’a win-win.” You couldn’t believe how awful the things that were coming out of these men’s mouths were. Were they always like this outside of work? Was Rafe like this outside of your marriage?
“You let your girl on birth control Kelc? Why?” Topper asked, genuinely perplexed at the notion of a woman controlling her own body.
“She had a whole bitchfit about it. Saying shit like how it helps her period pain and let’s her decide when she can have a baby or whatever. I don’t get it.”
They continued to drink and chat. “Hold on bunny baby,” Rafe shifted you side ways in his lap now so that your legs were fully facing JJ on his left. There wasn’t much room so JJ put your feet and calves atop his thigh, across his lap. You felt too shy to say no or remove them, and this genuinely was more comfortable.
Rafe noticed, but you didn’t, with all the shifting that your dress had twisted and was alarmingly close to revealing your underwear. You put your hands around Rafe’s neck and leaned in.
“Can I have a drink please? I’m thirsty.” You whispered in his ear. You were parched. Between the heat of the room and the heat building in your core you needed something to ground you.
Rafe smiled. “Sure. Hey,” he clicked his fingers at the girl on Kelce’s arm. “Double time. Vodka.” She left the area with haste.
“But Daddy- I wanted…you said I’m not allowed to dr-“
“Didn’t look like he asked for your two cents, princess.” Said Topper with a bored expression as he thumbed the neck of his beer bottle. You frowned. The blonde was usually nice to you at business events and in Rafe’s office.
“You speak when you’re spoken to around daddy’s friends Baby. Remember? Or do you need a reminder?”
Your eyes widened at the last time you were given a ‘reminder’. “N-no. I’m sorry I’ll just…”
Though his attention diverted from you as the shot was passed to your hand. “Now I know you’re just a girl, sweetheart. And you’ve never done a shot before so listen carefully. Can you do that for us?” Asked Kelce as JJ played with your socks. The condescension was not noticed by you.
You looked to Rafe, who nodded. So you turned your head to Kelce, careful not to spill the drink.
“Kay. So this stuff is really icky. You gotta drink it fast and swallow fast. You’ve had plenty of practice, so I’ve heard.”
You ignore the last comment and nod, looking at the clear liquid with determination. This is your chance to prove that you are a big girl and can handle things like alcohol. People always made fun of you for not drinking in college, so you needed the victory, even if just for yourself.
“Here, pretty baby. I’ll do one with you, okay? Ready? Go.” Your daddy said. Though you didn’t say it, you were grateful that he was supporting you.
To say the taste was awful was an understatement. It wasn’t so much the taste as the fumes that made your throat feel like it was on fire. You coughed, a lot. So much for proving you were a big girl and not some inexperienced baby unlike the rest of the sensual women around.
“Fuck, look at her. You alright dollface?” The insulting nickname flew over your head as you scrunched your eyes, though you could be sure it was JJ’s voice. He squeezed your ankle in a somewhat comforting gesture, but you could hear the guys and the girl laugh at how pathetic you were.
“Wh-why would you let me try that!” Tears dribbled down your face. The key word being “let”, as the guys noted.
Rafe growled, and laughed. “Don’t be such a fucking baby. In fact-“ he put his whiskey up to your pouty lips and made you drink it before you could protest. Again, disgusting. You sputtered some of it out and it dribbled down your chin and throat.
“Think she needs a bib boys?” Top jested, reaching over to chuck you under your chin. Other than Rafe, he seemed like the strictest of all. They each roared a laugh and you realised you were the butt of the joke. The punchline.
You continued to sniffle and leak some tears, looking around at what this truly was. You were an animal in the circus, simply there for entertainment. “Daddy, please…” you whined, tightening your hold on Rafe in the search of comfort.
“Don’t be sad sugar. If it’s any consolation, you’re even sexier when you cry.” Said JJ, as he took off your shoes one by one. He left on your white ankle socks, which he now noticed had love-hearts all over them.
You whimpered at the statement. Your throat felt raw and the wicked taste of mixing alcohols lingered in your mouth.
You were hyper aware of how wet you were in that moment, and couldn’t decide if you were whimpering out of pain, embarrassment or lust. You used your core to bounce on Rafe’s leg, enough to feel something yet too little for anyone to notice.
Rafe kissed your chin where the whiskey spilled. “That’s top shelf liquor you just wasted.” He licked your lip, groaning at the taste.
“S-sorry. Jus’ wasn’t expecting it. I’ve never really drank before.” You could feel your cheeks blush. Rafe loved PDA, and it had taken you a while to adjust to it.
“Hmm, you gonna make it up to me?” He teased. His hand travelled up to your braless chest and groped you, right in front of his friends. What the hell was happening.
“I don’t know,” said Kelce, looking at where Rafe’s hand was pressing your nipple. “I’m a fan of big tits. Not to the point where they look ridiculous, but definitely not as small as sweetheart, here.”
The guys all sounded as though they were heavily contemplating Kelce’s “insightful” comment and they turned to your chest, whereas you? You were just plain insecure now. You knew you didn’t have the largest bust, but was it really so much a factor?
“You’d be surprised,” said Topper. “Big tits can get in the way.” He scoffed, then returned to look at yours with a lustful eye.
“True,” JJ nodded, “plus small tits are just…I don’t know. They look more youthful. Perky, y’know? Definitely my preference.”
Rafe huffed out a laugh. “Me too, clearly.” You looked at him with a grimace, then down to your chest. “I have a theory that they’re more sensitive, though.”
“Oh yeah? What makes you think that?” JJ had toyed with your socks to the point where he’d taken them off completely.
Rafe eyed him, then gazed at you intensely before devouring your mouth in a kiss. You were confused, was there some mental signal he just sent to his business partner? How did that suffice as an answ-
“MMph!” You squeaked into Rafe’s mouth as pain overcame you. Rafe just pinched your nipples, with as much force as his hands could. His strong, manly hands… You were positive that your underwear had gained a wet patch on it now. You were less embarrassed about that than as to why you felt turned on in the first place.
You withdrew from Rafe’s mouth to stare at him, eyebrows scrunched in a hurt expression. Why would he do that? You looked at his lips and suddenly became distracted again. With your low tolerance, the alcohol was seeping into your mind and your impulse control was going haywire.
So, you jumped his mouth. Your tongue swirled around his as you let out a soft moan. His hand moved to slide along your inner thigh, and you panicked, moving it away in front of your too-keen audience.
Rafe loved how eager you were sometimes. You fucked like a rabbit, and your nose twitched in your sleep. Hence the nickname.
“Please not-not in front of them!” You whispered.
“Don’t worry. All friends here.” Said Kelce. “Nothing we haven’t seen before,” seconded Topper, who gave you a crude wink. Kelce high fives him and you were confused as to what they were referring to. Though you didn’t get to focus on the thought as you felt heaving tapping on your cheek.
“What the fuck did I say about speaking when spoken too, huh baby? You too fucked dumb from last night to follow a simple instruction?” Rafe said, growing annoyed. Sure, you were embarrassed. But that was nowhere near as bad as stepping out of Rafe’s meticulously drawn line.
“I just- I don’t know why you’re doing this in front of them. Don’t they all have girlfriends?” You wondered. Topper was married. Kelce had a girlfriend. JJ was, well he definitely had a girl. It was just a different one every week.
Rafe kissed your forehead, and said in a voice that was too saccharine- “I do it,” another kiss, “because” and another “I can, sweetie.”
A laugh bubbled from your throat at you squirmed, feeling a feather light touch as JJ drew his finger nails from the soles of your feet to your leg. You kicked a little, and turned in shock at the sensation.
“Come to Papa J, dolly.” He ‘come hithered’ with his fingers. “S’okay. Right Rafe?”
You looked to your husband, wondering exactly what was going on. Rafe grinned with that glint in his eye. “She’s all yours Jayj, careful though.” He said cruelly, before widening his manspread with haste. Effectively, letting you fall through his lap straight onto the floor between his legs. You yelped at the sudden motion and the sudden pain blooming around your tailbone. You wanted to say something, but you hadn’t been spoken to.
You used Rafe’s knee to stand up, barefooted on the plush rug of the club within the club. Blood rushed to your head. How drunk were you? You were now aware of how short your dress was. You weren’t sure what to do now.
JJ’s eyes traversed your figure head to toe. From the bow in your hair to your white pedicure. He looked hungry, like he was on a hunt. Were you being hunted? Is that what this was? Poached even, willingly by your own husband?
You thought of your marriage, of all the times Rafe had been sweet and the times were he’d been, dark. Salaciously dark. You knew they’d passed around ‘girls’ in the past, but just in the sense of sharing strippers. You were his wife. And JJ was his friend. They all were. Regardless of these mindless facts, you now knew who they were. Sleazebag playboys that objectify women. That use them.
And Rafe, your protector, was just going to throw you into the lion’s den with one of them?
Unless…you realised, looking at Rafe as he nodded for you to go towards his business partner, that your husband was one of them. That this whole time, your marriage had been the lion’s den.
You just didn’t know it until tonight.

summary: jj cheats on you and you decide to break up
Tumblr media
Not going to lie, dating JJ in any way was not expected.
Sure, you're best friends with Kiara and Sarah, even after Kiara's Kook year, but you didn't live exactly on the Cut or Figure 8. Your family is middle class, your dad is working as a computer engineer and your mother was a nurse, so not rich nor poor, just average.
Just normal.
That's why when you saw JJ sneaking another girl out of the Chateau after a big party, you weren't surprised, just...disappointed.
You weren't really a Pogue or a Kook, it didn't feel like you were enough for either of those two sides.
No matter how many times your friends told you otherwise, so when you saw another Pogue being pulled out of their house...
"JJ...?" A gentle whisper called out his name. He raised his head and stared straight into the [e/c] eyes of his girlfriend, or ex-girlfriend.
Unlike you, Kiara wasn't shocked into silence.
"God, what is wrong with you, JJ!" She snapped, grasping your upper arm and pulling you away. He grabbed your other wrist, yanking you to him and breaking Kiara's grasp.
"It's not what it looks like, Princess. I just saw her in the kitchen and-"
"JJ, we saw you..." Pope grimaced, avoiding his friend's betrayed gaze.
"I- JJ, why would you..." You choked on your words before tears started to fall. "Did I do something?" The pale hand he still had on your wrist started to burn.
"No! No, no, no, no, no!" He wiped the tears from your eyes before leaning in. That itself made Kiara nearly launch herself at him with an axe but Pope quickly made a save.
"Jesus, Kie!" He whispered, giving the miffed girl a stern glare.
You pushed JJ away, turning your head away from him.
"I think we should-"
"No."
You scoffed, the shock wearing off and leading to anger.
"Let's go and let them...talk." John B's voice silenced all of them as they realized that both of you needed time to yourselves. He sent you a sympathetic stare before leading the others back into the house.
When they finally leave, you focus back on the blonde boy in front of you with his regretful electric blue eyes.
"What do you mean by 'No'?"
"No, we can't break up." He bit his lip, staring down at the wet sand.
"Too bad, I wanna break up, so we're gonna break up."
"I physically can't...that'll mean that you don't love me anymore..."
"I don't know why you still think I love you. You cheated on me!" Your anger alerted the shaggy, blonde, haired boy that there clearly should be begging involved.
"But you-I love you!" His desperate tone caught your attention, but you refused to feel any differently.
You were lying, you were surprised JJ hadn't caught on, he used to understand you like you were his second skin. And that made it sad when he fell for your lies.
Of course, you still loved him, that wouldn't change, but it needed to start somewhere.
And it started with a lie.
"Bye...Maybank."
"Princess! Please..." But you left him standing there, alone.
Without you.

One Hell of a Night
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: smut, oral (m + f receiving), Topper and Kelce jerk each other off, drug usage, two in one hole, language, brief mention of choking and face slapping, teensy bit of degradation, foursome, slight groping from the boys, Rafe does a line off the readers tits because it’s me, this is literally just pure filth
Pairing: Rafe Cameron x Fem Kook!Reader, Topper Thornton x Fem Kook!Reader, Kelce x Fem Kook!Reader, slight Kelce x Topper
Summary: It’s strictly platonic between you and the three kook boys to anyone else, but when you’re alone it’s a totally different answer. A daunting game of cat and mouse lands you in an interesting position one Friday night.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If anyone asked you, the friendship between you and the three kook boys that dominated the island was strictly platonic. There was absolutely nothing else there, not when you took turns sucking their cock. Not when they were knuckle deep in your cunt. Not when their cum was coating every inch of you. Just a couple of friends helping friends to relax. But to you four? There was something there, pure animalistic desire to tear each other apart. Each one of you playing a daunting game of cat and mouse.
You’d wear the shortest golf skirt you owned when you went to play with them. They would wear the tightest shirts they owned, flexing their well defined muscles every chance they got. Your freshly painted nails would slowly trail up one of the boy's thighs, dangerously close to his cock, another boy's hand would disappear into your skirt, and the final boy would have his hand ‘innocently’ around your shoulder groping your tits. Each one of you eager to see who broke first, to see who gave into their desire.
It was usually always you. One look at their cocky smirks as their fingers danced a well choreographed dance inside your cunt and you were done for. You’d always ended up pleading for them to just stop the teasing and have their way with you. That exact same scenario is how you ended up in your current situation.
Rafe invited the three of you to his place to hang Friday night. Wheezie was at her friends house for the weekend, Sarah was out with those grimy pogues, Ward and Rose away for some business thing, which left the house all to himself. He’d told you he managed to secure a gram of coke from Barry and some alcohol, all you needed to do was bring your pretty ass over there with Topper and Kelce. Knowing it would just be the four of you, you put on a tiny skirt and crop top that was perfectly cut to show off your tits. The Cartier bracelet Rafe bought you, Chanel necklace Topper bought you, and Hermès ring Kelce bought you proudly on display. You’d put on the perfume you knew drove them crazy, sliding on your sandals and getting in your Jeep to head over to them.
You should have known it was a Trap, as soon as you walked in you should have known. None of the boys had their shirts on, passing around a half smoked joint and legs spread. Their hungry eyes staring you down the second you walked in the door like they were predators and you were the helpless prey. They paid extra close attention to your tits that were practically uncovered by the small piece of fabric you called a shirt, their adam’s apple bobbing as they swallowed harshly.
“Why don’t you come sit princess” it wasn’t a question, Rafe grabbed your hand and pulled you into his lap, discarding the joint and smirking at the squeal you let out from the sudden collision.
He already had lines laid out on the table and passed you a rolled up hundred dollar bill insisting you go first. The small skirt (and no panties) left little to the imagination as you bent down to the table, Rafe jerking his thigh up and hitting your cunt in the perfect way. You swallowed the whimper that threatened to escape your lips, covering one nostril before placing the bill inside the other and snorting a single white line off the table relatively quickly.
“Woah pretty girl, you’re so desperate tonight” Topper cooed, his eyes full of lust and mischief as the other two let out a small laugh.
“Awe come on guys, sweet girl just wants to make sure we don’t take it all before she gets her high. Isn’t that right baby?” Kelces hand rubbing your knee and the small amount of coke in your system made it hard to get out a complete sentence.
“Y-yeah, you guys always take it” you pouted, bending back down and doing two more lines before Rafe plucked the bill from your hands.
“That’s enough now.” he never let you overindulge like they did. He knew exactly what it did to you and while letting you snort any of the blow was bad, he’d rather you do smaller amounts with them.
A small hmph escaped your lips, arms crossed as you leaned back against Rafe’s chest. They could do all the coke in the world but you do three lines and it was the crime of the fucking century. You felt large fingertips grip your jaw firmly and turn your head towards them, Rafe’s blue eyes darkened as he spoke to you.
“Lose the fucking attitude and be grateful I allow you any princess. Don’t make me bend you over the table and slap your ass until it’s black and blue to teach you manners.” you knew he meant it. He’d done it once before when you wouldn’t stop bitching about everything one night, your widened eyes never left his as you nodded.
He whispered ‘good girl’ and placed a soft kiss on your forehead before he smirked, glancing at the table and your tits.
“Take your top off” the others quickly joined in agreement.
So, slowly, you began peeling it off. It’s not like they hadn’t seen your tits before, half the time you didn’t bother wearing a bra and changed in front of them because they’d touched and marked them plenty of times in the past. Topper passed the bag to Rafe who then instructed Kelce to push your tits together. You felt him press against your back, arms wrapping around your front and pushing your tits together with his hands, before Rafe poured some of the white powder between them. He covered one nostril and snorted it all away, lightly licking them to ‘get the rest’ off.
By this time, the drugs had kicked in. Your eyes holding a glazed over look, pupils dilated, cunt throbbing as you watched them. You began grinding into the couch, desperate for something, whining loudly and attracting all three boys' attention to you. Each one stared at the wet spot you’d made, eyes matching yours but with a bit more lust swimming around. Giving each other a knowing look, they listened as you begged for them to touch you. To use you as they pleased and make you cum
“Fuck princess, okay”
“That’s our good girl”
“So fucking pretty when you beg baby, we’ll take such good care of you”
Rafe had your legs spread apart, hands grabbing your tits and pulling at your nipples while Topper fucked your face. Kelce had his cock buried inside you, fucking you so hard that you swear your cervix was actually bruised. You couldn’t think clearly, eyes rolling back from the overwhelming amount of pleasure you were currently experiencing from both your high and being used this way, a harsh slap to your inner thigh bringing you back to reality. Your eyes were full of tears from the combination of your favorite boys using you like their personal toy, Topper was all the way in the back of your throat using it like it was nothing but a hole made to take his cock.
You knew they were both close, they went harder, each thrust more sloppy than the previous. Their moans getting louder and more broken until they couldn’t form words, only cries of your name. Their thick seed filled both of your holes at the same time and you swore you died right then and there. You could feel your cunt get stuffed full and loved it more than anything, especially knowing it was from one of your favorite boys. Rafe’s cock was pressed against your back, rock hard, leaking precum, and desperate for the same attention the others just got.
The two of them would pull out, each one with a proud look on their face when you whimpered at the sudden empty feeling and swallowed Topper's load, giving Rafe the opportunity to move in front of you. Groaning at the sight of your hole leaking out the mixture of yours and Kelce’s cum, he slowly bent down till he was eye level with your cunt. His lips quickly attached to your clit and then your tight hole. Moaning against you at the taste of his best friend's release with yours mixing together on his tongue. Your hands flew to his hair and held it with a tight grip, legs trembling from the previous orgasm you just had.
“D-don’t stop. P-lease” it came out broken, sounding pathetic enough for the two boys to laugh and mockingly frown at you.
You snapped your head in their direction and rolled your head back, eyes screwed shut and toes curling when you saw them stroking the other's cock. It was all too much for you, Rafe’s tongue working its magic on your abused cunt, the other two pleasuring each other while they watched you fall apart yet again. You swear to god Rafe was tracing his name against your cunt when you finally came. That rubber band in your belly finally snapping as you grinded into Rafe’s face, riding out your orgasm to the best of your ability in your drug altered state.
“Such a goood fucking girl baby. Oh my god” Rafe moaned out when he finally detached his mouth from your cunt, licking his lips clean and groaning at your taste.
“Taste so fucking good baby” he pulled you into a rough kiss, hand wrapped around your throat, allowing you to taste yourself on your tongue.
Your head moved up when he went to pull away from the kiss, lips still attached to his until he pushed you back against the bed. Topper and Kelce had managed to get each other off at some point during your orgasm and the thick white ropes covered their abs. They’d both walked to join Rafe in front of you before speaking up.
“Since Kelce got to fuck that pretty cunt of yours baby, Rafe and I want to try something while Kelce fucks your mouth”
“Do you trust us baby?” Even while high, they each made sure you were okay with whatever they were doing.
“Of course” your voice came out small, too fucked out, high, and tired to speak much louder.
“Okay baby. You’re going to take Rafe and I inside that tight cunt of yours…at the same time. You think you can handle us both baby?” that certainly woke you up, eyes shooting open as wide as they could go and sitting up on your elbows.
You looked between each boy, trying to see if they were serious. When there was no indication that they weren’t, pure desperation on Rafe and Toppers faces, you nodded your head.
“Fucking hell princess, you’re so perfect.”
“If it’s too much, you tell us okay?” they both spoke at the same time, you again nodded at them.
They flipped you to your stomach before pulling you up, wanting you on all fours. Once you were in position, Kelce walked over and slid his cock in your mouth. Rafe slid his cock inside you, groaning at how tight you were and the way your cunt clenched around him reactively. He thrusted into you a few more times before making sure you were okay with this. Once you gave him a thumbs up, mouth too full of cock to answer verbally, Topper joined him. He slid his cock in, letting out a loud groan at the feeling of your tight hole and his cock rubbing against Rafe’s inside you, slowly until it was all the way in. You were so lost in pleasure, moaning non stop around Kelce's cock, that you forgot to suck him off. He slapped your cheek to bring your attention to him “Just because you’re taking two cocks inside your cunt at once like a little whore doesn’t mean you stop paying attention to me. Now fucking suck princess, make me proud”
You bobbed your head up and down, trying your best to keep your attention on him while Rafe and Topper fucked into you at the same time. The room full of pornographic sounds, just moans and whimpers bouncing off the walls.
“I hope you know baby, we aren’t done with you. We’re going to ruin you to the point you’re just a drooling, babbling, trembling cock hungry whore. This is just the beginning” Rafe moaned into your ear, gripping your hair and pulling you up to his lips.
This was going to be one hell of a night.

I wanted to get readers perspective of what happened and how she was feeling after finding out Adam is back so that’s how we ended up with the journal entries. let me know how you feel about them, I’m debating on if I should do more in future updates. if her thoughts seem jumbled, I kinda intended it that way because she’s all over the place and not doing well at the moment. but I did love Sarah and readers relationship in this one! thank you for reading and let me know your thoughts 🫶🏻

♡♡♡
You groaned as you felt your phone vibrating under your pillow, waking you up from your dreamless slumber. You checked the time quickly before you picked up the call from John B.
“John B Routledge, do you know what time it is?” You said as soon as you picked up the phone, your morning voice doing very little to hide your annoyance.
“I know I’m sorry, y/n, but I wouldn’t call if it wasn’t important.” John B sounded panicked on the other line, making you sit up so fast you thought you were going to get whiplash.
“What’s wrong?” You asked, already getting out of bed and throwing whatever t-shirt on that you could find in your closet and a pair of shorts.
“It’s JJ, he got hurt.”
“I’ll be there as soon as I can.” You said before hanging up. You slid on your closest pair of shoes and ran downstairs grabbing the keys to your car.
You raced to the hospital, every possibility running through your head as to what could have happened and the worst possible outcomes. You were just glad you got JJ on your insurance as soon as you could.
You pulled into the parking lot, not bothering to lock your car as you ran inside.
“Where is JJ Maybank?” You asked the nurse at the front desk.
“Are you family?” The nurse asked, cocking an eyebrow at you as she looked up from whatever paperwork she was doing.
“No, I’ve just decided to come to the hospital at the ass crack of dawn to see a stranger.” You were pissed that she would even ask the question, you thought the urgency of your question was evidence enough that you were here to see family. “Yes, yes he’s my little brother.”
“Y/n.” John B said, stepping out into the waiting room. He looked worried and it only made you panic more.
“Oh, John B, thank God. Tell this woman I’m JJ’s sister.”
“She’s good, she’s good.” John B told the nurse as he ushered you back to where JJ was. “Kie’s here, too.”
When you got to the bariatric chamber room you couldn’t believe your eyes. Your brother sat up and sent you a small smile and wave, like he knew he would be in trouble when he got out. Now that you were certain your brother was okay, you were mad. You turned to John B with your arms crossed.
“You are gonna tell me what the hell happened in explicit detail. Do you understand me, John B?” You said, jabbing your finger into John B’s chest.
“Okay, well this old guy approached us to find this like really old amulet on Blackbeard’s ship off of the coast of Goat Island-” John B started, but you cut him off before he could continue.
“Blackbeard’s ship? The one that’s eighty feet below the surface? The one that’s protected by the Coast Guard?” You could feel yourself getting more angry as John B continued explaining how JJ ended up in the hospital.
“Well, yes, but anyways, we got the coordinates of the ship and we went out there last night and JJ and Kie decided to dive to find the amulet. But, when they got down there someone else showed up and-and attacked them-”
“Are you fucking kidding me?”
“A guy attacked them and they couldn’t stop at their safe spot for three minutes and they came up too quick and they sort of got the bends.”
“I told you to stop the treasure hunting. I told you it was dangerous, John B. You’ve finally been able to settle down and start a business and now you’re back throwing yourself into danger! I mean what on God’s green Earth could have possessed you to take this job?”
“That’s the other thing…JJ kind of bet our last gold nugget on himself at the Enduro, which we were gonna use to pay our property taxes, but since he lost, we kind of have no money to pay our property taxes.”
“Why…why did you not just come ask me for help? I mean I would’ve given you the money. How much is it?”
“Thirteen thousand…”
“Are you fucking kidding me, John B? I spend more than that in a weekend in Paris! Why did you not just come to me?”
“Because, we want to do this on your own. This is our chance to show everyone how serious we are.”
“And you’re willing to put your lives on the line for that? God, do you people ever think? Did you even get the amulet?”
“Yes, yes, we did.” John B said, a smile starting to spread across his face.
“Good, because as soon as Kie and JJ get out of here you are taking that fucking thing to the old man on Goat Island and getting your money. Do you understand me?”
“Y-yes ma’am.”
“Text me when they’re out.” You muttered, taking one last look at your brother and Kie before leaving.
♡♡♡
You sat in your office, finally reading that contract Mark sent over.
“Yeah, this is great Mark, I’ll sign everything as soon as we get off the phone.” You said into your phone. “Mark, I really don’t want to talk about us right now.”
“Ms. Thornton.” Lily announced herself, walking into your office.
“I gotta go.” You sighed, hanging up your phone. “What’s up?”
“Um, Mr. Cameron is here, he’s pretty insistent that he sees you.”
“Yeah, that’s fine.” You said, looking at your phone.
“I’m taking the deal with Hollis.” Rafe announced as soon as the door shut behind him.
“What? Why?” You asked, putting your phone down.
“I talked to Sofia-”
“Oh my God.” You chuckled cutting him off. “So now you’re taking business advice from her? Tell me where did she get her business degree? Oh, wait, that’s right she doesn’t have one.”
“She just said she thought it would be a good idea, a good opportunity.”
“Did she also say it was great chance to make friends and collaborate with your peers?” You said, the sarcasm dripping off your voice.
“God, what is your problem?”
“What’s my problem? I’m looking out for you Rafe! A random woman, who we haven’t seen in years, suddenly comes up to us and offers this ‘amazing’ business opportunity, demanding two hundred thousand dollars, with no business plans, no contracts, she wants everything done under the table. And you think it’s a good idea all of a sudden because your girlfriend told you so? Why are you even here telling me this?”
“Because…”
Rafe knew why he was here. He wanted you to talk him out of it. He wanted you to tell him that you needed him for the offer the two of you were gonna put on Goat Island. God, he just wanted to hear that you needed him.
“You can’t even tell me why you’re here. You know what, do whatever you want Rafe, I’m going through with the offer, with or without you.”
Your words broke Rafe a little. You had needed Rafe for so long, you each thrived off one another’s presence, he knew it and you knew it. But, now that you didn’t need him anymore, that you could live without him in your life, it broke his heart just the littlest bit.
But, the truth was you did need him, you wanted him, but you couldn’t admit that yourself, much less to Rafe.
“Oh, and, Rafe, if you tell Hollis, or even suggest to her that I’m putting an offer on Goat Island, you will never see me or hear from me again.”
It was an empty threat, you knew and Rafe knew that if he told Hollis, you would march right up to him and tear him a new one. Because, like Rafe said, fighting was your love language.
♡♡♡
“Hey.” You said to Sarah with a smile as you walked into Poguelandia. “I got your text, is everything okay?”
“Do you know what this is?” Sarah asked, handing you a piece of paper. “Some guy just handed it to us and we have no idea what it means.”
You took one look at the paper and saw zone change.
“Well you royally pissed someone off, and you’re gonna need a lot more than thirteen thousand dollars.” You explained, tossing the paper down on the counter. “I can try talking to my grandfather, but everyone knows Topper’s his favorite. I can’t make any promises, especially since I would be asking for a favor for pogues.”
“Wow, thanks.” Sarah muttered.
“You know that’s not what I meant. He’s gonna see what the zone is for and that it has to do with The Cut. I’m just saying I can’t make any promises.”
“Thank you, y/n, truly.”
♡♡♡
You paced around your living room as you fought on the phone with your grandfather, Judge Thornton, about this stupid zoning thing. Everyone was out of the house, so it was just you.
“I gotta go.” You muttered when you heard someone knock on the front door. You hung up the phone and opened the door. “What are you doing here, Rafe?”
He was obviously drunk, he could barely stand up straight.
“Ugh, you smell like the bar.” You grimaced, looking over him.
“I-I came to talk to you.” He slurred, leaning one arm against the doorframe as the rest of his body slumped over.
“You need coffee.” You said, wrapping his arm around your shoulder, leading him inside. You shut the door behind you and made your way to the kitchen, sitting Rafe down in a chair at the counter. “Please tell me you didn’t drive here.”
“I didn’t. Sofia did.” Rafe hiccuped, leaning his head down on the counter.
“Sofia drove you here? Willingly?” Your eyebrows shot up in shock as you started brewing the cup of coffee for Rafe.
“Yup.” He responded, popping the ‘p’ at the end.
“Drink this and then I’m taking you back to your house.” You handed Rafe the cup of coffee and he just stared at it.
“I don’t want to go there.” He muttered.
“Rafe, you can’t stay here.”
“Why?”
“B-because, you know why. It’ll just make things more confusing than they already are.”
“But that’s what you like though. Confusing, irritating, complicated things. That’s why things didn’t work between you and that Mark guy, right? He was too nice?”
“H-how do you know about Mark?” You asked, your face faltering.
“Please, your mom’s the biggest loud mouth once you get a few drinks in her.”
“You fed my mom alcohol to find out information about my personal life?” Your voice sounded annoyed, but really you found it almost comforting that Rafe was still so interested in you that he went through your mom to find out even the smallest details about your life when you were away for school.
“It didn’t take much, Laura really is a lightweight.” He chuckled. “At first she would talk about how she thought you and I would get married one day and that when we broke up a piece of her died that day. You know, it really was nice of you not to tell her the full story.”
“I didn’t want you thrown in jail for the rest of your life, Rafe.” You sighed and looked down at your hands.
“I knew it. I knew a piece of you still cared about me.”
“Of course I still care about you Rafe, God, I’ve known you practically my entire life and you thought I was just gonna stop caring about you?”
“Then why didn’t you reach out to me? Why didn’t you come home once?”
“Because Rafe I needed time away from you, away from these people, away from this place. I needed to find out who I was before I felt like I could come back.”
“Did you? Did you find out who you were?”
“Yeah, I did, actually. Someone who doesn’t need you anymore.”
You watched as Rafe stood and moved in front of you, placing his hands on the counter on either side of you, practically trapping you in place.
“Are you sure?” His voice was barely above a whisper. He was so close to you, you thought you were going to lose every bit of sanity and strength you had left.
“Absolutely positive.” Your voice came out a bit shakier than you would’ve liked but you were just glad you could get the words out.
“You don’t want this at all?”
You closed your eyes for a second before coming to your senses. Rafe was right about one thing: you did like the confusion, the irritation, the complications of it all. He always knew you like that, he knew you too well.
You put your hands on Rafe’s chest, hesitating for a second, before you lightly pushed him away from you.
“No bad decisions, remember?” You said quietly, recalling your own words from that night two years ago when the two of you kissed for the first time, the first time you showered together, the first time he saw you naked.
“Yet, somehow, whenever I’m around you, I only make bad decisions.” Rafe said quietly, staring at your lips.
“Come on, we need to get you to bed.” You grabbed Rafe’s hand and pulled him towards the stairs, turning the light off in the kitchen in the process.
“So I can stay here tonight?” Rafe’s voice sounded hopeful as he let you pull him up the stairs.
“Only because I don’t feel like having to get you over to your house. Trust me, I would much rather just hand you off to Sofia, but I’ve decided to be nice tonight.”
“Fuck that bitch.” Rafe muttered, looking at the ground.
“Nope, those are mean words and we don’t talk about women like that.” You corrected him.
When you reached your room, you could see Sofia standing on Rafe’s balcony through your window.
“Shit.” You whispered, stopping for a second. “Get down.” You pulled Rafe to the ground with you, squatting just outside your bedroom door.
“What? What?” He asked in a panicked whisper, looking at you like you were crazy.
“Just wait here.” You whispered before you crawled into your room. You closed your curtains painfully slow, trying to not get Sofia to notice that you were closing them, because you figured if she saw you close them then that you meant you had something to hide. And, truly, you did. You were about to let Rafe Cameron sleep in your bed, with you.
You stood up slowly and made your way out to your balcony.
“Oh, hey.” You said to Sofia with a small smile, feigning surprise.
“Hey.” She responded, before sighing. “Is Rafe still over there?”
“Oh, yeah, he kinda passed out in my living room.” You chuckled awkwardly, rubbing the back of your neck.
“Sorry, I kind of dropped him on you. He was insistent that he saw you. Like, he wouldn’t get out of the car unless I let him go over to your house. I tried to tell him that you didn’t want to be bothered.”
“It’s fine, I’ve dealt with my fair share of drunk people passed out in my living room.”
“Was he…Was he like this with you?”
“Well, not really. He did kill someone six months into our relationship, so different circumstances.”
“Is that the reason why you broke up? Because he killed Peterkin?”
“It-it was a big factor, yeah.”
“Well, I should head inside, get some sleep.” She said, before turning around.
“He’s not a bad guy, he’s just been dealt a bad set of cards.” You told Sofia, sending her a small smile, before heading back into your own room.
“Is it safe?” Rafe whispered peaking his head into your room from the hallway.
“Yes, it’s safe.” You sighed, turning on your closet light so there was at least some light in the room. “Sit.” You pointed Rafe towards the bed and went back into your closet, trying to find a shirt for him. You pulled the shirt from the first night you slept in his room out and threw it on the bed.
“You still have this?” Rafe smiled as he picked up the shirt.
“Well, I was planning on burning it, but I just never quite got around to it.” You said from the closet as you searched for a pair of Rafe’s old sweatpants that you knew you had in here somewhere. When you finally found them, you turned the light off in the closet and went back into your room, where you found Rafe struggling to unbutton his shirt. You smacked his hands away and started unbuttoning his shirt for him. “It always was my favorite, though.” You muttered, before taking his shirt off and tossing it onto your desk chair.
“At least take me to dinner first, Thornton.” Rafe joked, and you tried hard to hide your smile.
You helped Rafe pull the shirt on over his head and Rafe kicked off his shoes. “Up.” You helped Rafe stand up off the bed. “Think you can handle your belt?”
“I want you to do it.” He said quietly, looking down at you. You closed your eyes and sighed before making quick work of his belt, adding it to the desk chair pile.
“You know she cares about you, a lot.” You muttered as Rafe took off his pants and pulled on the sweats you found.
“Who?”
“You know who I’m talking about.” You said, walking back into your closet to find yourself something to wear. You changed quickly and went back into your room.
“Do you like her?” Rafe asked, sitting back down on your bed.
“Does it matter?” You stood next your bed, taking your jewelry off and throwing it into a little bowl on your bedside table.
“Do you like her?” Rafe repeated, grabbing your waist to force you to look at him.
“No.” You answered honestly, looking down at Rafe.
“Why?” His grip on your waist tightened a little bit.
“You know why, Rafe.” Your voice was the one barely above a whisper now. You knew why you didn’t like Sofia. It had nothing to do with her as a person, Rafe knew that. It had everything to do with the fact that she was who he called ‘baby’ now. That she was the person who slept in his bed at night, not you.
“I want you to say it.” Rafe pulled you in between his legs and your hands went his shoulders. “Say those three little words and I’m all yours.”
“Rafe…” You said quietly, looking down at him. You wanted nothing more than to say those three words, to tell him that you loved him. “Go to sleep.”
You stepped back away from Rafe and he dropped his hands from your waist.
“We agreed, no bad decisions.” You muttered, pulling back the covers for Rafe.
“No, no you said we wouldn’t make any bad decisions.” Rafe said, moving to lay down in the bed and you pulled the covers over him.
“Exactly, we agreed.” You walked over to the other side of the bed and climbed in, keeping your distance from Rafe. Rafe watched you carefully, never taking his eyes off of you. “Go to sleep, you creep.” You joked, pushing his face away from you.
“But, it’s so cold and lonely over here.” Rafe whined. He always did get so needy when he was drunk and tired.
“Fine, but you can hold my hand and that’s it.” You huffed, lacing your fingers through his. Rafe took this opportunity to pull you closer to him, so close you were practically lying on top of him. “Rafe.” You warned, but you weren’t moving away from him.
“We’re just holding hands.”
“I’m lying on top of you.” You said flatly, looking up at him.
“Yeah, and I can tell you aren’t wearing a bra.” He smirked.
“Go to sleep, you perv.” You muttered into Rafe’s chest.
You forgot how comforting Rafe’s hold on you was, lulling you to sleep quickly.
