Merlin Santana (March 14, 1976 – November 9, 2002) was an American actor and rapper. Beginning his career in the early 1990s, Santana was best known for his roles as Rudy Huxtable's boyfriend Stanley on The Cosby Show, Marcus Dixon on Getting By, Marcus Henry in Under One Roof and Romeo Santana on The WB sitcom The Steve Harvey Show (1996 – 2002).
Born in Upper Manhattan, New York City to parents from the Dominican Republic, Santana's career in show business began with a push from his parents, who wanted to keep him off the tough streets of New York. He began his career at the age of three as an advertising model for a fast food chain. His first screen appearance was as an extra in the Woody Allen film, The Purple Rose of Cairo.
Acting Career
In 1991, Santana landed a recurring role on The Cosby Show as Stanley, the boyfriend of Rudy Huxtable and the rival of Rudy's friend Kenny (Deon Richmond). He was then cast as Marcus Dixon in the short-lived sitcom, Getting By, starring Cindy Williams and Telma Hopkins. Deon Richmond was cast as his brother Darren, due to their interaction on The Cosby Show.
In November 1994, Santana appeared on Sister, Sister as Joey, who falls in love with Tia and Tamera (Tia and Tamera Mowry) at Rocket Burger.
In 1995, Santana was cast as Marcus Henry in the short-lived CBS family drama Under One Roof, co-starring with James Earl Jones, Joe Morton and Vanessa Bell Calloway. Between 1996 and 1999, he played the role of Ohagi on Moesha.
In 1996, he landed the role of Romeo Santana on The Steve Harvey Show. In 2001, he played the role of Jermaine in the movie Flossin. In 2002, he appeared in the VH1 TV movie, Play'd: A Hip Hop Story with Toni Braxton. That same year, Santana had a role in the Eddie Murphy comedy Showtime. His last television acting role was on the UPN series, Half & Half, while his last film role was in the 2003 comedy film, The Blues with Deon Richmond.
Death
Shooting
On November 9, 2002, Santana was murdered while sitting in a car in Los Angeles. Santana and his friend, actor Brandon Adams, just left an acquaintance's home in the Crenshaw District when the suspect Damien Andre Gates fired the shot that entered through the trunk of the vehicle in which Santana was a passenger. The bullet penetrated the right-front passenger headrest and entered Santana's head, killing him.
On November 18, 2002, Santana, age 26, was buried at Saint Raymond's Cemetery in The Bronx borough of New York City.
Trial and Allegations against Gates
In 2003, Gates was convicted of the first-degree murder of Santana and the attempted murder of Adams and was sentenced to three consecutive life sentences plus 70 years in prison.
Brandon Douglas Bynes, the other suspect who was with Gates during the shooting, received a 23-year sentence after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter and assault with a deadly weapon.
An LAPD officer involved in the case testified that Monique King, reportedly shooter Gates's girlfriend, only aged 15 at the time, falsely claimed that Santana made sexual advances towards her which prompted the Gates' and Bynes' attack.

Ultimate Playlist: Men’s Names, G
Gandhi II by “Weird Al” Yankovic In the movie UHF, Al parodies commercials, TV shows, and film. This is a movie trailer that reimagines Gandhi as Rambo, putting the smack-down on bad guys and wooing the women.
George Of The Jungle by “Weird Al” Yankovic The theme to the 1967 animated TV series was written by Stan Worth and Sheldon Allman. Al covered it on his 1985 album “Dare to be Stupid,” and The Presidents of the United States recorded a version for the 1997 film.
The Killing Of Georgie (Parts 1 & 2) by Rod Stewart Stewart took some poetic license in the telling of this true story about a gay friend who was cast out by his parents, moved to New York, became very popular, but was inadvertently killed by a gang of thieves one night while walking home.
Georgy Porgy by Toto Playing off the nursery rhyme, the song suggests that the protagonist has chased away the girl he loves by being possessive of her.
Toss a Coin to Your Witcher by Sonya Belousova, Giona Ostinelli, & Joey Batey In world, this song is written by Jaskier, a bard, who is telling the story of how Geralt of Rivia fought a sylvan (half-man, half-goat), hoping to win over the common folk that don’t think highly of witchers.
Geronimo by Sheppard The song is using the custom of yelling “Geronimo” before doing a courageous act, like jumping out of an airplane. Gerónimo was a military leader and medicine man from the Bedonkohe band of the Ndendahe Apache people who led breakouts from the reservations in the late 1800’s. U.S. Army paratroopers started the tradition of shouting his name inspired by the 1939 film of the same name. Of course, this was an english pronunciation of his actual name: Goyaałé, which means “the one who yawns.”
A Boat Like Gideon Brown by Great Big Sea Gideon’s boat is big and strong, but the singer’s father’s boat was second hand. His father always swore that one day they would save enough to get a boat like Gideon’s.
Goldfinger by Shirley Bassey Written by John Barry, Leslie Bricusse, and Anthony Newley, it’s the title song from the 1964 James Bond film of the same name. The lyrics, comparing the villain to King Midas, were inspired by a scene in the film in which the character Jill Masterson is murdered by “skin suffocation” (not actually a thing) after being painted gold.
Heir Gordon by Bruce Hornsby I couldn’t find an explanation for this song. The title seems to parody Air Jordan, and the lyrics seem like they are mocking a specific person, but if so, Hornsby is keeping that to himself.
Gulliver/It’s Hay Chewed/Reprise by Elton John Gulliver is gone, but his memory remains in this final track from Elton’s first album.

Trivia
Tumblr media
Vicki’s father James was at first an elitist snob who Vicki couldn’t stand
Lisa is named after a girl I went to school with who was a complete bitch
Vicki of course comes from Victoria “Posh Spice” Addams who I hardcore shipped with Brian when I was little, note their last names also being similar.
Incidentally Emily was loosely inspired by Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton
I gave Kevin, Howie, AJ, and Nick a case of SORAS (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome) to roughly the same as Brian so the high school plotline and the boys’ birth years made sense without being weird (IRL Nick would’ve been 12 and AJ would’ve been 13/14 if Neilson and Adam were to actually exist)
The boys’ names were supposed to be temporary placeholders so I could remember who’s kid belonged to whom until I could think of new ones…that didn’t happen
The boys’ middle names were inspired by my love of horror movies,
Bradley (Jason Voorhees; Friday the 13th)
Neilson (Freddy Krueger; Nightmare on Elm Street)
Kyle (Michael Myers; Halloween)
Harry (Dracula)
Adam’s middle name was originally Jackson as I believed that the killer of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Leatherface’s, real name was Jack (John), turns out it’s Thomas Hewitt, therefore Adam has no ties to any kind of scary movie, which I guess is okay considering he’s scary enough as a person
As far as I know the name “Neilson” IS real I only came up with it because I couldn’t think of another boys’ name that started with an N, completely forgetting the name Nathan existed
Natalie’s last name comes from a guy I was friends with in high school
Mr. Wexler was also the name of the school’s principal in the show “Even Stevens” let’s just say I decided to borrow it
Coach Reinhart’s name comes from my childhood best friend’s maternal grandfather, affectionately known as “Poppy Reinhart”
Forever Your Girl, Pomp & Circumstance, and The Winchester Saga went through NUMEROUS rewrites before their final versions were released
Harry is an amalgamation of Carlton from Fresh Prince, Fez from That 70’s Show, and Steve Urkel from Family Matters
The Winchester Saga has lead to some confusion with people thinking it has something to do with the TV show Supernatural, it doesn’t I was just trying to think of an elite, powerful, snooty sounding last name. I DID create characters named Sam and Dean as a fun Easter egg but they don’t hunt the supernatural, just criminals
The characters Rachel, Chandler, and Joey were NOT done on purpose, I didn’t realize I did it until much later and yes, Friends IS one of my favorite shows
Incase you didn’t know, Bradley and Neilson are best friends (yes I’m aware of how much I have them refer to each other as such) their relationship is modeled after Brian and Nick’s during the early days of BSB when they were super close
Bradley, Neilson, and Natalie’s friendship was inspired by Shawn, Corey, and Topanga on Boy Meets World
Kevin’s departure from BSB is included in the series with it being mentioned that he’s either in Boston or New York working on movies
Brian’s Christian, good boy persona made me want to make Bradley a snarky, sarcastic, rebellious metalhead
Neilson is just Nick during his Now or Never era
Mr. Mooney is a faceless character, meaning he’s only mentioned in passing and never actually makes appearances
“Backstreet Manor” as it’s called is big enough to include (at least) 10 bedrooms, an in-home recording studio, a game room, Harry’s lab, and an in-ground pool
While Natalie has a friendly relationship with Kyle and Harry, and is best friends with Bradley, she and Adam have an acrimonious relationship
Bradley’s car “Christine” a 2008 Ford Mustang convertible gets it’s name from the Stephen King novel of the same name

Fall Guy did not do great at the Box Office this weekend. Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt are great actors, and still the movie underperformed. Exit interviews said most went because of Ryan. Emily has no pull in that department. Even Jake Gyllenhaal who is considered a really good actor does not seem to put butts in seats. There are lots of actors in that position. Joey King recently did an interview where she seemed uncomfortable with the power of whether a movie/tv show would be made unless she agreed to star in it. I was thinking about Zendaya and Challengers, does anyone think it would have done better without her, or for that matter would it have even been made. Amy Pascal , imo, did it because of Zendaya.
No, there is no scenario where Challengers would have done better without Zendaya in it. It's possible it might have been made, especially since the original script was on the Black List, so it would have been brought to the attention of Hollywood types. It's something I could see being made, but either as a smaller indie film or something not for wide release. I think it only got a wide release because Zendaya was attached to star in it.

Navigating Speculation: Jacob Elordi's Personal Life and the Importance of Privacy
Australian actor Jacob Elordi, renowned for his role as Noah Flynn in "The Kissing Booth" series, has found himself amidst speculation about his sexual orientation. It's crucial to approach such matters with sensitivity, respecting an individual's right to privacy.
Born on June 26, 1997, in Queensland, Australia, Elordi began his acting career in 2018 with the Australian film "Swinging Safari." Subsequently, he gained recognition for roles in Hollywood productions, including "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" and the TV series "Euphoria."
Speculation about Elordi's sexuality arose when he shared childhood crushes on male actors, such as Brad Pitt, during interviews. This sparked discussions about his sexual orientation, with some questioning if he might be gay or engaging in Queerbaiting.
Elordi addressed instances of homophobia he experienced during his school days, noting that he embraced wearing makeup in response to unfounded rumors about his sexuality. However, it's essential to remember that personal experiences and expressions of gender identity do not necessarily dictate one's sexual orientation.
Rumors intensified when Elordi discussed a scene in the movie "Saltburn," where his character was labeled as queer. Despite expectations, the film did not feature a gay sex scene, leading some to accuse him of Queerbaiting.
Regarding his romantic life, Elordi has been linked to several high-profile figures, including co-stars Joey King and Zendaya, as well as Kaia Gerber and Olivia Jade Giannulli. While his dating history involves women, it's crucial to recognize that relationships do not definitively reveal one's sexual orientation.
In conclusion, the speculation surrounding Jacob Elordi's sexual orientation highlights the challenges celebrities face in navigating public scrutiny. It is essential to approach these discussions with respect for privacy and an understanding that personal experiences and relationships are complex and fluid. Ultimately, Elordi's sexual orientation is his own personal matter, and any conclusions should be drawn with caution and empathy.

101 Dalmatians:

The 101 Dalmatians is about two dalmatian owners who fall in love and their dogs also fall in love. The dogs end up having 101 puppies. The antagonist of the story is Cruella de Vil and she kidnaps the puppies. The movie shows you have the puppies escape and what happens.
I first saw 101 Dalmatians when I was a kid because my cousins put it on for me. I loved 101 Dalmatians because it was a movie about dogs. As a kid I loved dogs and they were my favorite animal. I was scared of Cruella de Vil and I almost didn't like the movie because of her. I still like the movie to this day.
Tumblr media

Ramona and Beezus is a movie about two sisters who never really get along but they must work together to try and save their childhood home.
I first saw Ramona and Beezus one day when I was scrolling through my TV looking for a random movie. I liked this movie because it was about two sisters and it reminded me of myself and my sister. I related to Beezus because she was the older sister just like me. I haven't watched this movie since I was younger but I would watch it again.
Tumblr media

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It
The Conjuring was released on June 4, 2021. It was Written by David Leslie Johnson- McGoldrick, James Wan, amd Chad Hayes. It was directed by Michael Chaves. It stars Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ruairi O'Connor, and Sarah Catherine Hook. The Conjuring generated $206.4 million in box office sales.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It is about a man accused of murder. He seeks the help of Ed and Lorraine Warren who are paranormal investigators. The suspect claims he was under demonic possession and did not commit the murder in a normal state.
I watched the Conjuring for the first time about two weeks ago with my roommates. I liked the thrill of the horror and suspense. I felt bad for the character Debbie and sympathized for her. I would watch the movie again and I really liked it.
Tumblr media
I asked my cousin Taylor what he thought my favorite movies were at these time periods in my life. From ages 8-9 he said my favorite movie was the 101 Dalmatians. I don't think the 101 Dalmatians is a super important movie but I think it is fun for kids to watch. This was correct and it's what I listed as my favorite movie. He said he remembers me watching it all the time and that I would always say how much I loved it. From 10-13 he said Jaws. Taylor said he though I liked Jaws because I was interested in marine life and ocean animals. I listed my movie as Ramona and Beezus. Ramona and Beezus was important to me because it was about a sister bond and my sister is a very special person to me. Ramona and Beezus and Jaws are very different movies. For 14-17 he said Hereditary. The movie I listed was the Titanic. I did not watch horror movies during these ages because I was scared of them and I just recently started liking them. From ages 19 up he said the Conjuring but he didn't specify which one. I do like all of the Conjuring movies but I specified the 3rd movie "The Devil Made Me Do It". I think the Conjuring 3 was important because it was educational about demonic possession.

That’s what it would’ve made such a good spin off ! And yeah I too love his acting, I think that whoever is on the show has been cast so well and they all do such a good job 💜!!! I mean she does become a bit at times but somehow I didn’t manage to catch like a major difference 😭 also tell me if you see it too but alexis and Joey king kinda look similar right like they could pass for siblings at least
Architecture wow that’s a cool field!! Oh no that’s sad but also good in a way because now you’re doing law ¿ and hahah bestie ikwym . So i didn’t want to continue science after 10th and I’m not interested the slightest in commerce-y things so in arts I was going through the psych syllabus and I found it interesting and I had talk with my school counsellor and she told me about her experience and the various prospects of the field soo I decided to go with it and I’m liking it so far and I’d say all the crime/ detective type shows also always made it seem cool 😂
Thanks bestie💜 also did you hear Daniel is going to do a watch along of the race on Sunday but idk how the f1 tv pro people can access it but if you’re a sky customer you Crofty said you can watch by pressing the red button on the remote .

i hope they realise that it's a missed opportunity and people would've loved to watch jess😭 i love milo's acting so much, he has a movie about racing actually and it's such a sad movie but i love it😭 and YES THEY DO LOOK SIMILAR, I'VE NEVER NOTICED BEFORE
that's a really interesting story!! i totally get that you didn't have any interest in commerce and didn't want to go with science (samesies) but psychology is honestly such an interesting route and i'm glad you find it so too!!🥹🥹 and bestie, the tv shows having a huge impact is such a true thing, they always make things seem a lot interesting🤭🤭🤭
the freaking red button on the sky remote is going to kill me, i need to see this thing with my own eyes😭 but it's exciting that we'll get more daniel content!🥹💜💜 i'm sure he'll do a wonderful job!🥹🥹
