The night grew on, morning finally arrived, the sky fading from a frosty blue to a light pink, stars still twinkling in the sky. A few stray flurries fell to the ground.

"Morning, how are we doing?" the doctor asked coming into the room.

"We're exhausted and cranky" Sasha said.

"Well let's take a look, see where we are" he said sitting at the foot of the bed, he snapped a pair of rubber gloves on. "You're in luck, 10 centimeters" he said.

"Seriously?" Nick asked, sitting in a chair next to her.

"Ready to have a baby?" he asked.

"Morning" Kathleen said coming into the room "Oh hello doctor."

"Hello, you're about to be a grandma" he said.

"It's time" Sasha said to her.

"Craig!" she yelled, waking him up "It's time!" she yelled.

"Okay, I can only have two people in here with her at a time" the doctor said "Sorry folks, that's the way it is" he said.

"Where's Alicia? I want Alicia" she said.

"Sash? I'm right here honey" Alicia said coming into the room.

"We'll be right outside if you need us okay?" Kathleen said kissing her forehead.

"I love you mom" Sasha said.

"I love you too" Kathleen said as a nurse came in, shutting the door behind her.

"Okay Sasha, on your next contraction I want you to push as hard as you can" the doctor said tying a mask on to his face.

"Okay" she said, Nick sat behind her, supporting her shoulders and holding her hand, Alicia stood by her side holding her other hand tightly. "Ready? 1, 2, 3, push" The doctor said to her "Come on Sasha, you can do this" Alicia said as Sasha pushed, she clenched her teeth tightly together and squealed loudly. "Okay, come on, again, 1, 2, 3, push" he said as Sasha once again. clenched her teeth together, screaming loudly.

"I got the head" the doctor said "Come on Sash, just pass the shoulders" he said as she pushed harder, screeching loudly "Come on just one more" the doctor said. She pushed down as hard as she could when she groaned in relief and fell back against him.

The baby began to wail loudly, his little arms and legs flailing about.

"Oh my god" she said happily as the doctor held him up.

"You did it" Nick said kissing her cheek.

"Want to cut the cord?" the doctor asked, Nick sat up and took the surgical scissors from the doctor. He cut the umbilical cord and the doctor passed him off to a nurse.

"Oh honey I am so proud of you" Kathleen said as she and Craig filed into the room.

"Here he is" the nurse said, Sasha pushed herself up. The nurse handed him over carefully "Congratulations" the nurse said to her.

"Thanks, oh my god" she said happily, she grabbed his tiny hand and kissed it. She stared down at his small face, tears beginning to trickle down her cheeks. Nick stood next to her, sitting down beside her "Look at our boy" she said crying.

"I know" he said nodding, they looked down at the tiny bundle wriggling around in her arms.

Later, Sasha held him snugly, he slept peacefully "God this little face" she said as they stared down at him "I didn't know you could love something this much" she said astonished "He's so perfect" she said.

"Just like his mom" Nick said kissing her head.

"Wow...I'm a mommy" she said in disbelief.

"Feel weird?" he asked.

"It feels amazing" she said.

"I know" he said.

"I love you" she said looking up at him.

"I love you too" he said as they kissed.

"Can we come in?" CJ asked.

"Of course" Sasha said to him "Alicia, thank you so much for being there when I delivered" Sasha said to her.

"Thank you for letting me be there with you, can I hold him please?" she asked.

"Oh yeah" Sasha said handing him over.

"Oh my goodness, you are just the most precious thing" she said holding him.

"So? Does my nephew have a name?" CJ asked.

"Yeah you've been keeping it secret for months now" Alicia said.

"There he is...my first grandson" Craig said as he and Kathleen came into the room.

"Yeah Sash was just about to tell us his name" CJ said.

"Yes, why so secretive?" Kathleen said.

"Well I wanted it to be a surprise" she said.

"Sash wanted a name that had meaning to her" Nick said to them.

"So we agreed that we would name him Neilson" she said. Craig's head shot up as he looked at her, Kathleen looked at her happily "I knew it was important to daddy and he never got to name any of his children that so...I figured I'd start the tradition over" she said.

Craig silently moved towards her and hugged her tightly "Thank you Sasha" he said tearfully "Can't believe after all these years, there's finally another Neilson Miller" he said happily.

"Well you're half right..." Nick said.

"Yeah daddy, it's actually...Neilson Carter" she said.

"Neilson CARTER?!" he asked.

"Craig" Kathleen said.

"That's...that's...just...perfect" he said begrudgingly.

"So what's his middle name?" CJ asked.

"Frederick, after grandpa" Sasha said to him.

"Neilson Frederick Carter...man is he going to hate you guys" CJ said.

They all laughed as he handed little Neilson back to Sasha "Oh Neilson" she said looking down at him "We love you so so much."

"Yes we do" Nick said as they sat on the bed together looking down at the baby.- "Pomp & Circumstance ch.30 "Neilson Frederick Carter"

“Everyone! May I please have your attention” Nick said, with Sasha by his side “I have a very special announcement to make, Ladies and gentlemen, it’s a boy” he said happily as he and Sasha kissed, everyone applauded them.

“Wow” Melissa said taking a sip of her drink.

“Congratulations” Vicki said hugging Sasha.

"Thanks" Sasha said hugging her back.

"Okay, Vicki, that leaves you, you have the girl" Melissa said to her.

"We don't know that yet" she said.

"Congratulations dude" Brian said hugging Nick.

"Thanks” Nick said to him as they hugged.

"To your son" Brian said tapping his cup up against Nick's.

"To my son!" Nick said as they took a drink.- Pomp & Circumstance ch. 25 "This is Halloween"

"Come on, it's okay" Alicia said to Sasha as she held a door open for her.

"I don't know about this" Sasha said to her.

"I understand you're nervous but everything's going to be okay" Alicia said "Hi, I'm here with Sasha Miller for her three o clock appointment" Alicia said to the nurse at the window.

"Okay, the doctor will be right out, have a seat" the nurse said gesturing towards the waiting room.

"Thank you" Alicia said smiling, they then sat down.

"Alicia, why are you doing this for me?" Sasha asked.

"Because, you're like a little sister to me" Alicia said smiling warmly at her.

"I'm so sorry for being such a bitch to you all the time" Sasha said to her.

"It's okay, I totally understand, I'm glad you're letting me help you" Alicia said, they hugged.

"Sasha Miller?" a nurse asked holding a clipboard.

"Ready?" Alicia asked standing up.

"I guess" she said following the nurse back to a room.

Alicia smoothed out her hair as she sat up on the table in a gown, the doctor came in "Well?" Alicia asked.

She nodded "You're pregnant."

Sasha's face went blank "Are...are you sure?" she asked in disbelief.

"The blood test and standard pregnancy tests were conclusive" the doctor said sitting on her stool. "I scheduled you for an exam, we want to make sure everything's going well and the baby is developing properly" Sasha stared straight ahead of her still in absolute shock. "Let me give you..." the doctor said picking up a couple pamphlets "this is a place that specializes in terminating pregnancies and this is a list of adoption agencies, just for consideration, whatever choice you make is yours"

"Thank you doctor" Alicia said pulling Sasha close.

"Sure, I'll let you get dressed" she said as she stood up and left the room.

"You okay?" Alicia asked.

"I uh...I don't know" Sasha said to her "Can I have a minute?" Sasha asked.

"Yeah sure, I'll go check you out" Alicia said to her. The door closed and Sasha's face crumpled up and she began sobbing.

Alicia's car pulled up to Sasha's house and stopped. "I can tell them if you want" Alicia said to her.

"Thanks but...I think I need to do it" Sasha said to her.

"Okay" Alicia said softly, squeezing her hand.

"Hey...can I... call you sometime? just to talk?" Sasha asked.

"Course you can, I'd like that" Alicia said as Sasha shut the car door.- Pomp & Circumstance ch. 18 "The Morning After"

Sasha set a bowl of popcorn on the coffee table and looked at her watch when the doorbell rang, she stopped to give herself a look over in the mirror and then opened it "Hey" she said to Nick.

“Hey” Nick said sullenly as he came inside. “I know I’m late, sorry” he said.

“Uh no, it’s okay…what’s wrong?” she asked.

He shook his head “Nothing, I’m good…want to watch a movie or something?” he asked taking his coat off.

“Sure…soon as you tell me what’s going on” she said sitting on the coffee table in front of him “You were fine at school today, what happened between then and now?” she asked.

“My family, what else” he said “My parents are apparently getting divorced” he said irritated.

“Again?” Sasha asked.

“Until they break open another bottle of booze and everything’s supposedly fine” he said to her. “You know if it were just me I could handle it…but my brother and sisters…they’re too young to understand and it kills me that they put them in the middle of their problems” he said sadly.

She looked at him sadly and moved to sit next to him on the couch. “Come here” she said pulling him towards her, he lied his head on her chest as she ran her fingers through his hair.

He smiled “How do you do it?” he asked lifting his head up and looking at her.

“Do what exactly?” she asked.

“Make everything better?” he asked.

“it’s a gift” she said shrugging, they laughed.

“You’re my best friend you know” he said.

“Wow really? Even though I’m a girl?” she asked, he laughed.

“Yes” he said, she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him in close.

They kissed softly, eventually becoming more intense and deep, their mouths fusing together.

“I love you Sash” he said to her.

She smiled “I love you too” she said as they began to kiss once again.

“Mm” he said as they broke apart.

“How about I make you feel even better?” she asked “Come on” she said holding her hand out and nodding towards the stairs.

He pulled the clip holding her hair up, letting it softly cascade down her back, he then pushed it over to the other side as he began to kiss her neck, sliding the strap of her dress down off of her shoulder and planting soft kisses on her bare skin. She whirled around to face him and slowly began to unbutton his shirt, they looked at each other lustfully before connecting in a deep kiss, running his fingers through her hair, laying her down on her bed.

“Sash, I…” he said when she softly pressed her fingers to his lips.

“I don’t want you to think about anything else tonight okay?” she asked.

He smiled against her finger, putting his lips back on hers, she slowly slid his shirt off his shoulders, he shook it from himself, his hands getting stuck in the cuffs, Sasha giggled as he tried to get them out.

“Need help?” she asked laughing.

“No I got it” he said laughing and then pulling it off of himself, he wrapped his arms around her pulling her into him, kissing passionately, his hands running down her waist to her butt and squeezing gently.

He found the zipper to her dress and slowly slid it down, Sasha sat up to face him, slipping the straps of the dress from her shoulders, letting the top fall off her. He stared lustfully at her bare breasts, lunging at her, kissing and nipping at her neck. He reached up to grab her breast, squeezing it, Sasha moaned slightly, she reached down and undid his pants.

Their clothes began to pile up on the floor, his pants falling to the carpet first, her dress soon after followed by her panties and his boxers. He lied flat on his back, Sasha straddling his waist, he began to thrust upward, she matched his movements and began to ride him, he held on to her hips. He sat up, wrapping his arms around her and sucking on her breasts, she ran her fingers through his hair as he began to thrust even harder.

She threw her head back as he began to move faster, whimpering and moaning, grabbing his hair tightly. She finally fell backwards against the bed, her legs still tightly wrapped around his waist, his thrusts becoming quicker. Her headboard tapped lightly against the wall behind it, they both finally cried out in pleasure, their bodies becoming like liquid.

Natalie stared at her phone “You okay?” Bradley asked.

“Have you heard from Neilson yet? Did he call or text you at all?” she asked.

“No not for awhile.”

She sighed sadly “It’s almost midnight and he’s not here” she said.

“He’ll be here alright” Bradley said to her.

“How can you be so sure?” she asked.

“Because I know him, he wouldn’t miss this” he said, she looked at him sadly, he pulled her close and held her.

“Surprise” Neilson said making his way towards her.

“Oh my god!” she said happily jumping into his arms “I can’t believe you’re here!” she said to him.

“I told you I would be” he said.

“I told her you would be” Bradley said to him “Hey” he said hugging Neilson.

“You’re back” Adam said as he and Harry approached them.

“Just in time too, it’s almost midnight” Harry said.

“Where’s Kyle?” Neilson asked.

“Yeah I haven’t seen Zoe in a while either” Adam said looking around, they all exchanged nervous glances.

“Oh look the countdown’s starting!” Harry said.

“Can I open my eyes now?” Brian asked Vicki.

“Yeah” she said laughing “Well? What do you think?” she asked.

“You look great” he said “Dress looks familiar.”

“It should” she said taking a picture from her purse.

“20 years ago today” she said.

“Oh wow” he said looking at the picture “I remember this night…I asked you to be my girlfriend, remember?”

“I remember” she said as they kissed when he heard a beeping noise.

“Oh” he said fishing into his pocket for his phone.

“What is it?” she asked.

“1 minute until midnight” he said.

“Everyone ready?!” someone at the party yelled, their hats and noisemakers ready.

“10!” everyone yelled.

“9…” Kyle and Zoey said, still perched in the gazebo.

“8...” Brian and Vicki said together.

“7!” everyone at the party yelled.

“6…” Kyle and Zoey said.

“5...” Brian and Vicki said as she laughed.

“1 HAPPY NEW YEAR!!” everyone yelled as confetti and streamers rained down on them from the ceiling, Neilson and Natalie kissed deeply, Bradley watching on and raising his glass to them.

“Happy New Year!” Kyle and Zoey exclaimed before kissing.

“Happy New Year” Brian said as they kissed.

“Guys! Roof!” Bradley said.

“Oh yeah” Neilson said grabbing Natalie’s hand, Harry, and Adam followed behind them.

“What’s going on?” Natalie asked,

Fireworks began to boom overhead “Oh my god” Vicki said breaking their kiss to watch the colors explode in the air.

Natalie gasped as they got to the roof at the fireworks booming over them.

“I got this from behind the bar” Bradley said holding up a champagne bottle.

“I got the glasses” Adam said “Dude where are Kyle and Zoey?” he asked,

They all looked at each other “…champagne!” Bradley said.

“Champagne” they all replied.

“Here they are” Kyle said as he and Zoey joined them on the roof.

“Where’ve you been?” Adam asked.

“We’ve been looking for you guys!”

“Yeah we couldn’t find you” they said to him, he eyed them suspiciously.

“Alright let’s pop this open” Bradley said popping the cork from the champagne bottle.

"So what's your new years' resolution this year?" Natalie asked .

"Uh well I'm going to resolve to NOT get shot, NOT get kidnapped and NOT almost burn to death in an explosion" Bradley said taking a drink from his glass.

"Hey! me too!" Neilson said.

"Dude!" Bradley said as they high fived.

"Same for me" Harry said.

"Well I'm hoping to NOT get taken hostage by a psychopath this year...and what Bradley said about the kidnapping and explosion thing" Kyle said.

“Should we have a toast?” Zoey asked Kyle.

“Alright to 2010 and all the good things that will happen this year.”

“Cheers to that” Natalie said.

“Here here” they all replied.

“Oh and to Damien and crazy papa Winchester who are now crispier than a bucket of KFC” Adam said raising his glass.

“I’ll definitely drink to that” Bradley said.

“Cheers” Neilson said.

“It’s going to be a good year, I can feel it” Kyle said.

The next week everyone was ready to say goodbye to 1991 as the final days of the year were winding to a close.

“And there we go” Vicki said fastening the clasp on her mom's necklace.

“Well?” Lizzie asked turning around “You look great mom” Vicki said to her.

“Thank you” she said kissing Vicki's cheek “Ooh” she said standing back “Well Happy New Year to you too” she said to Vicki's stomach.

“Ugh he's kicking up a storm in there” Vicki said sitting on her mom's bed.

“Are you sure you want to have this party tonight? You’re exhausted” Lizzie said putting a jacket on.

“Yes! Course, too late to back out now anyways” Vicki said “Not to mention I could use a bit of fun” she said said as she held her arms out, Lizzie pulled her up.

“Alright I'm going” Lizzie said as they went downstairs “You guys have fun tonight; I'll be home at one.”

“Okay mom, have fun” Vicki said helping her with her coat.

“Happy New Year sweetheart” Lizzie said to her.

“Happy New Year” Vicki said giving her a hug.

“Wow, looking good Mrs. McAdams” Emily said to her.

“Thank you, okay night girls” Lizzie said opening the door.

“Night mom” Vicki said to her as she left.

“I just called and the pizza is on its way as is everyone else” Emily said to Vicki.

“Great…now if I only knew where my boyfriend disappeared to” Vicki said.

“Jason dragged him off on some mission for fireworks or whatever…don't worry he'll be back by midnight”. “So, what's your New Year's Resolution?” Emily asked.

“Really?” Vicki asked.

“Yes, come on, what is it?” Emily asked.

“I don't know, I don't really make them, I guess it would be to be a good mom” Vicki said.

“Hey you are going to be an incredible mom, no doubt about that” Emily said to her

“What about you?” Vicki asked her.

“I’m not sure yet” Emily said.

“Can I make a suggestion?” Vicki asked “Find a new boyfriend” she said.

“Now that I can do” Emily said the doorbell rang.

“Party time” Vicki said as she and Emily went into the living room.

“Okay everyone! Heads up!” Vicki said passing out noise makers “It’s almost midnight!” she said setting a box down. The doorbell rang once again, Vicki answered it “Hey, there you are” she said to Melissa.

“I'm late I know” Melissa said taking her coat off “But Adam did not want to go to sleep tonight”.

“Hey you got here before midnight, that’s all that matters” Vicki said to her.

"I feel like I haven't been out of my house in weeks...I have to call home” she said.

“What why?” Vicki asked.

“I just want to make sure Adam's okay” she said going over to the phone.

“What is she doing?” Sasha asked.

“Checking on Adam” Vicki said to her.

“Didn’t she just leave her house?” Sasha asked, Vicki giggled.

Brian and Jason came in through the kitchen.

“There you are I was worried you weren’t going to make it” Vicki said going into the kitchen.

“Well we almost didn’t” he said looking back at Jason “But here I am” he said wrapping his arms around her “You ready to tell everyone?" he asked.

"Let's do it" she said.

“Okay he is sleeping like a baby, which is good because he is one” Melissa said sitting down next to Kellie and Christina "What's up?" she asked.

"Kel's sister is getting married" Christina said to her.

"Oh wow, when did he propose?" Melissa asked.

"Christmas eve, it was so cute, he had all these boxes stacked inside each other and had the ring inside the last box" Kellie said.

"Hey everyone!" Vicki yelled, turning the music down.

"Alright everyone, Vicki and I have some news" he said.

"You're having twins?" Jason asked.

"God no" Vicki said to him.

"Before Thanksgiving Vicki and I found out the sex of the baby...ladies and gentlemen...it's a boy" he said happily.

"Aww" everyone said as they clapped.

"Congratulations!" Kellie said hugging Vicki.

"Congratulations Vicki" Christina said.

"Thanks guys" Vicki said as they hugged her.

"I was convinced you were having the girl" Christina said.

"Congratulations" Melissa said "Here's your ten bucks" she said handing a dollar bill to Sasha.

"Thank you" Sasha said "Oh my god" Sasha said hugging Vicki "So? Name?" Sasha asked.

"Bradley" Vicki said.

"What?!" AJ asked.

"Oh here we go" Melissa groaned.

“Hey! Turn on the TV, the ball’s about to drop!” Emily yelled.

“Okay everyone! Noise makers ready?” Vicki asked they all gathered around the TV to watch the ball drop.

The countdown started.

“Ready? 10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1” they all counted before shouting.

“HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!” all the lovers in the room kissed “Now if everyone will please join me in the backyard for a special presentation” Jason said to the room. A lot of people followed him outside to Vicki's backyard.

“1992” Vicki said Vicki said to Brian as they stood in an embrace.

“It’s going to be a good year” he said.

“It is” she said patting her stomach.

“Happy New Year” he said.

“Happy New Year” she said before they kissed, watching the fireworks light up the sky.

Christmas day came and went and soon everyone was ready to ring in the new year and start a new decade.

"Here we are, fresh shrimp" Mary said bringing a plate into the living room and setting in the coffee table.

"Got the champagne on ice" Lizzie said as she brought another plate of food into the living room.

"Where's Vicki?" Mary asked.

"Oh she's upstairs getting ready, she's going to a party at one of her friend's house."

"Oh, that's nice is uh...you know who, taking her?" Mary asked.

"He should be here soon" Lizzie said.

"Should I go get my gun?" Dan asked as he sat in a chair with the remote.

"Daddy, you're almost as bad as Jimmy" Lizzie said to him.

The doorbell rang "There he is" Lizzie said as she opened the door "Well hello there" she said to him said.

"Hi Mrs. McAdams, Happy New Year" he said.

"Happy New Year, well come on in" she said as he stepped in. "she should be down in a minute" Lizzie said to him.

"Hello there" Mary said.

"Oh I want you to meet Vicki's grandparents, this is my mom Mary and my dad Dan, mom dad this is Vicki's friend, Brian."

"Oh hi, nice to meet you" he said shaking their hands.

"Well its a pleasure to meet you" Mary said to him.

"Vicki!" she called up the steps.

"Coming" she said before appearing at the top of the steps in a maroon strapless velvet dress.

"Wow" he said as she came down.

"Hey."

"You look amazing" he said looking at her.

"Thanks" she said.

"Oh Vicki, you look beautiful" Mary said to her.

"Thanks grandma" Vicki said to her.

"You have something that goes over that right?" Dan asked, Mary nudged him.

"Ready?" she asked.

"Oh yeah" he said grabbing her coat.

"Ah not so fast, I want a picture" Lizzie said to them.

"Oh me too" Mary said grabbing her camera.

"Oh god" Vicki groaned.

"Oh its one picture" Lizzie said.

"Its okay" he said to her.

"Smile" she said as the flashes went off "Have a good time, I want you home right after midnight" Lizzie said to her.

"Bye" Vicki said to them.

"Nice meeting you guys" he said as they left.

"Such a sweet boy" Mary said.

"Isn't he? Don't they make the cutest couple?" Lizzie asked.

"Dan?"

"Mm" Dan responded.

"The sandwiches are ready" Lizzie said as they went into the kitchen.

They got to Jason's house and stepped inside people filed in and out of Jason's house as the countdown to midnight played on the TV.

"Vicki!" Emily yelled.

"Hey!" she said hugging her.

"God you look beautiful" Emily said.

"Thanks so do you" she said.

"Want a drink?" he asked.

"Yeah thanks" she said to him as he went into the kitchen.

"Why did we have to come to this party?" Erica asked.

"Yeah what about the party my sister invited us to? It was at the frat house on her campus, college guys Lisa, what are we doing wasting our time here?"

"Will the two of you shut up?!" Lisa asked annoyed "Keep your eye out" she said looking around "Oh there he is" she said reaching for her purse and taking something out.

"So? Did he pass the dad test?" Emily asked Vicki, she laughed.

"I think so, my dad scared him a bit though" Vicki said to her.

"Typical" Emily said to her "Is your dad still in town?"

"No he flew out last night, he said he'd call me tomorrow."

"Okay so...he's met your dad, he's met your grandparents and you two have been attached at the lips for months now, I think you've reached girlfriend territory" Emily said to her.

"Hey J" he said as he went into the kitchen.

"Oh hey you're finally here" Jason said passing out cups "For you?" he asked filling one.

"Two, I need one for Vicki" he said.

"Where is she?"

"Talking to Em."

"So, how'd it go with her dad?" Jason asked him.

"Don't ask, I don't think I've ever been that scared in my life" he said to him "I just met her grandparents too."

"Wow the whole family huh?" Jason asked.

"Tonight's the night J, I'm going to ask her."

"Ask her what exactly?" Jason asked nervously.

"I'm going to ask Vicki to be my girlfriend."

"Really? Finally? When you should've asked her after you guys kissed on Halloween?"

"I'll take that as support, thanks J" he said as Jason handed him his drinks.

"Hey!" Lisa said as he walked towards the living room.

"Oh hey Lisa" he said.

"Hi, Happy New Year!" she said.

"Happy New Year."

"Oh well would you look at that" she said as they looked up "Mistletoe" Lisa said.

"Actually that looks like parsley" he said looking at it as he carefully made his way past her.

"Whoa hey Lisa" Jason said to her "Under the mistletoe huh?" he asked.

"Kiss me and die you little parasite" she said to him angrily before walking away.

As the clock ticked down and midnight grew near, he was growing restless, wanting to ask her the one thing he had on his mind for months.

"Okay everyone its time for the final countdown!" Jason's dad said coming into the kitchen.

"Here you go" Vicki said putting a hat on Brian's head.

"Thanks, hey uh I got to talk to you about something, think we can go outside for a minute?"

"Yeah sure" she said as he led her outside to the deck, Lisa watched them go outside. She then got up and followed them.

"Where is she going?" Erica asked as she went into the kitchen. She stood at the sliding glass doors and watched.

"Okay wow it is really cold out here" she said rubbing her bare arms.

"Oh sorry" he said "Here you go" he said wrapping his jacket around her.

"Thanks" she said putting it on "What'd you need to talk about out here?" she asked wrapping her arms around herself to keep warm, he rubbed her arms for her.

"I just wanted to be alone with you" he said "And I wanted to ask you something" he said. "Come here" he said laughing and pulling her close to keep her warm.

"This is nice" she said as they kissed.

"You, loser boy" Lisa said to Jason.

"You rang?" he asked her.

"What is going on with those two?" she asked as they stood watching from the doors.

"Oh I guess he wanted to do it in private" Jason said.

"Do what?" Lisa asked.

"He's going to ask Vicki to be his girlfriend" Jason said, Lisa scoffed and continued to watch.

"So what'd you want to ask me?" Vicki asked him as he kept her close to him.

"Well..." he said looking at her "I've liked you a lot since the day you moved in, you're fun to be around, you're sweet, you're smart, you're beautiful, you're an amazing person" he said to her. "I want to be with you, I want...will you be my girlfriend?" he asked a smile slowly crossed her face.

"Really?" she asked.

"Really" he said smiling.

"Yes, of course" she said to him.

"Yes? You're saying yes?"

"Yes!" she said laughing.

"Yes!" he said happily, she laughed and they kissed.

"I guess she accepted" Jason said, Lisa clenched her fists together and squealed before leaving. "Hey lovebirds!" Jason said to them "Come on, countdown's starting!" they hurried inside and joined everyone in the living room.

"11!...10!...9!...8!...7!...6!...5!...4!...3!...2!...1!...HAPPY NEW YEAR" everyone yelled.

His arm was wrapped around Vicki's shoulders as her fingers laced with his while he walked her home.

"This is the best new year's I think I've ever had" he said.

"Me too" she said as they stood in the middle of the street when fireworks began to explode in the air. "Oh look at that" Vicki said as they looked up to the sky and watched the colors fade into the sky. "Hey" Vicki said "Happy New Year" she said to him.

"Happy New Year" he said before they kissed, standing in the street and fireworks booming over head.

Christmas Eve 2009

“Well? What do you think?” Christina asked Howie as he came into the living room.

“So much better, thank you” he said kissing her cheek.

“No problem, always happy to help” Christina said picking up a stack of gifts.

“See? Now isn’t this much better?” Brian asked Nick.

“Sure, now that I started everything for you” Nick said.

“Oh sweetie…you tried” Christina said to him “Just…stick to singing” she said patting his shoulder.

“I hope our parents like the gift we have planned” Kyle said sitting on the coffee table next to Adam with a tray of cookies.

“Relax Kyle, it’s a picture, not gold bars wrapped in diamonds and hundred-dollar bills” Adam said to him.

“Who cares, I’m seeing dead people and fictional holiday characters…” Bradley said sullenly as he stuck a candy cane back in his mouth “And I’m really getting sick of these things” he said throwing the candy cane into the fire behind him.

“Bradley, for the last time, Nat’s dad was not here” Kyle said to him.

“Yes he was! He was right here in this room! I talked to him!” Bradley said.

“Maybe it was Ed’s assistant” Kyle said to him.

“Ed doesn’t have an assistant…and even if he did why did Ed show up like 5 minutes later to fix the lights himself?” Bradley asked.

“It’s Christmas time he probably got mixed up or something…how hard were you thrown back during the explosion anyways?” Kyle asked.

“Not like it makes a difference” Adam said biting into a Christmas cookie.

“Bradley, if you say you saw Nat’s dad, then I believe you saw him” Harry said patting his shoulder.

“Oh, well, thanks Harry” Bradley said.

“He’s losing it” Harry mouthed to Kyle and Adam once Bradley turned away, the both subtly nodded.

Bradley’s head snapped around to look back at Harry who smiled at him “Oh to hell with you guys!” Bradley said getting up from his seat.

“Why go to hell when I can just go to Adam’s room, it’s basically the same thing” Harry said taking Bradley’s seat.

Adam chuckled “Oh I get it…because I’m Satan” he said laughing lightly “Get some new material” he said irritated as he got up.

The front door opened and Sasha stepped in, she gasped “Oh my god, Chris, this place looks amazing” she said.

“Thank you” Christina said taking a small bow.

“Wait a second, what makes you think I didn’t do this?” Nick asked.

“Because it actually looks good” she said looking around.

“From their mothers” Brian muttered to himself as he and Vicki hung stockings on the fireplace.

Vicki looked at him suspiciously “Excuse me?” she asked.

"Hmm? What?" he asked smiling sweetly at her.

“Sorry I wasn’t able to help this year” Sasha said to Christina.

“Oh don’t worry about it I know you were swamped with work, besides Adam was nice enough to help me” Christina said to her.

Adam looked up fearfully, everyone turned to look at him in surprise. Looks of amusement crossed the faces of Bradley, Kyle, and Harry “Oh alright fine” he said “I like to decorate and wrap presents…don’t judge me!” he said storming out of the room.

“I really wish Neilson was able to hear that” Bradley said “I’m gonna text him” Bradley said pulling out his phone.

“So how’d the second store work out?” Christina asked.

“Perfectly…but to show I’m not a total scrooge as some would think…” she said looking towards Nick.

“When did I say anything?” Nick asked.

“I’m donating some of the profits to charity” Sasha said.

“Well that’s nice of you” Christina said.

“Well thank you” Sasha said to her.

“Didn’t you say you were bringing someone?” Christina asked her.

“Well I was planning on inviting Janitor Bob, as a thank you for filling in last minute but as I was leaving the mall I heard Ms. Beaumont on the phone telling the mall manager that he just up and quit his job and I can’t seem to get ahold him” Sasha said.

“Really” Bradley said.

“Maybe he had somewhere else to be” Christina said to her.

“Yeah…maybe he did” Bradley said to himself, holding a Santa Claus ornament in his hand before hanging it from the tree.

“Hey look who I brought” Neilson said coming inside.

“Merry Christmas!” Natalie said.

“Oh…and here I was hoping it was someone good” Adam said sitting down on the couch.

“Wow this place looks great” Natalie said as Neilson helped her with her coat “Adam, I didn’t know you had such great taste” she said.

“Yeah, I hear you’re a regular Martha Stewart” Neilson said as Adam sat up horrified and irritated and looked at Bradley who was quietly snickering to himself “You son of a bitch!” he said angrily.

“Hey!” Bradley said “Leave my dad out of this!” he said laughing.

Brian's face fell and he turned to look at Bradley angrily.

“Hey everyone!” Kellie said standing in the doorway.

“Hey, Merry Christmas!” Christina said to her.

“Merry Christmas” Kellie said to her “I hope it’s okay that I brought a special guest” she said as the door opened.

“Ho ho ho” Kevin said coming inside.

“Hey!” they said happily, greeting him.

“You said you weren’t coming home!” AJ said greeting him.

“Yep, the perfect cover” Kevin said.

“Dad!” Kyle said coming in from the kitchen.

“Hey, Merry Christmas” Kevin said hugging him.

“What are you doing here? You said you were staying in New York” Kyle said.

“Well what kind of surprise would it be if I told you I was coming home?” Kevin asked him.

“Well I’m actually glad you’re here because, we have an awesome surprise for you guys” Kyle said “Guys?” he asked.

“Really? We have to make a big deal out of this?” Adam asked.

“Just get up and give them the presents!” Kyle said, Adam rolled his eyes.

“I know, son, believe me…I know” Kevin said putting his arm around Kyle and patting his arm.

They handed everyone a package each.

“Alright, ready?” Kyle asked.

“Yes! Can we open them?” Sasha asked excitedly.

“Go head” Kyle said as they each tore the paper off.

“Oh my god!”

“This is so sweet!” Sasha and Christina cooed as they each held a picture of the boys together at the mall’s Santa’s Workshop.

“This is perfect!” Vicki said.

“Told you they’d like ‘em” Kyle said to Adam.

“Yep, you sure showed me” Adam said.

Brian took a seat on the coffee table “Merry Christmas” he said handing Vicki a present.

“What’s this?” she asked.

“Open it and see” he said as she tore the paper off and opened up a velvet oblong box.

She gasped “My bracelet, where’d you find it?” she asked happily.

“When we were helping your mom move over the summer, I found it in an old jewelry box, the chain was worn and broken so I sent it away and had it fixed” he said “This is so amazing, I loved this thing” she said.

“I also took the liberty of adding a few more charms to it” he said.

“I see, thank you so much” she said as they kissed.

“Ugh, alright, enough with that” Bradley said disgusted.

“Bradley for most of your life you have wanted us to get back together” Brian said “And now that we are, you have a problem with it?” he asked.

“Doesn’t mean I want to see you guys making out every ten seconds” Bradley said to him.

“Merry Christmas” Neilson said presenting Natalie her gift.

“Oh my god, thank you…you didn’t have to get me anything” she said.

He looked around in bewilderment “…no I wanted to” he said to her.

She tore the paper off and opened the velvet box “Oh my god” she said looking at it.

“Check the back” he said.

She flipped it over to see the engravement “Oh my…this is…how did you get this?” she asked shocked and confused.

“Let’s just say I had some help” he said.

"More like divine intervention" Bradley said behind him, Neilson turned and slapped his arm.

“Thank you so much” she said tearfully, hugging him tightly.

The wind blew hard outside a small secluded bar, the temperature was bone chilling, flurries flying past the window. The door opened, bells jingling above the door. Bob stood there in the doorway, dusting the snow off of himself.

“Cold out there huh?” someone asked him.

“And getting colder by the minute” Bob said “Well hey there Joey” he said approaching the bar.

“How’s it going Nick?” Joe asked as Bob took a seat next to him “Or are you still going by Bob?” he asked amused.

“Safe to say, I’m through with that gig” Bob said to him.

“Yeah, you like being a janitor?” Joe asked.

“Was a change of pace for sure” Bob said “You get that necklace back to your daughter?” he asked Joe.

“Yep, back where it belongs” he said.

“So…did you ever think in a million years that your daughter would be hanging out with the sons of the Backstreet Boys?” Bob asked chuckling heartily.

“Got to say that thought still blows my mind” Joe said laughing along with him. “I’ll tell you the truth, the thought of Natalie hanging out with a group of boys all day every day used to scare the hell out of me but…these kids…they seem like good guys” Joe said.

“I can honestly say, you got nothing to worry about with these guys” Bob said.

“Glad to hear it” Joe said to him.

“Alright, got to get back on the road” he said standing up from the bar.

“Hey Merry Christmas” Joe said as Bob went to the door.

“Yeah, you tell the big guy I said Happy Birthday” Bob said leaving.

“Merry Christmas sweetheart” he said appearing behind Natalie as she sat on the foyer steps, he gently placed his hands on her arms and kissed the top of her head.

Natalie looked up confused and felt the top of her head, she looked behind her and looked around.

“You okay?” Neilson asked sitting on the steps next to her.

“Yeah…I just…never mind” she said shaking her head.

“Merry Christmas” Neilson said smiling.

“Merry Christmas” she said as they kissed.

Once Adam and Neilson somehow managed to convince both the art and drama clubs to come back onboard, preparations for the play came off without a hitch, Adam’s behavior greatly improved and soon it was time for opening night. The guys sat among a packed auditorium,

Adam paced back and forth backstage “There he is, mister director” AJ said as he and Melissa approached him.

“We’re so proud of you sweetheart” Melissa said hugging Adam.

“Thanks mom” he said to her.

“Hey, break a leg alright? You did a great job pulling this all together” AJ said to him.

“Well I guess we’re about to find out aren’t we?” Adam asked

“Come on we better get to our seats” Melissa said to AJ.

“Good job buddy” he said hugging Adam quickly.

Adam took a deep breath and walked into the auditorium, taking a seat in the front row.

Mr. Escobar emerged from behind the stage curtains, walking center stage “Hello everyone and thank you for coming” he said to applause “The Hilridge High School drama department in addition to St. Ignatius’ Church are pleased to present the annual Christmas pageant” Mr. Escobar said “This year our pageant is being directed by the president of the drama club Mr. Adam McLean” he said gesturing towards Adam, he stood up and waved to the audience. “now without further ado, I present to you The Story of Christmas” Mr. Escobar said exiting the stage, the lights dimmed and Bradley and Kyle pulled the ropes to open the curtains.

Bradley, Neilson, and Kyle stood backstage watching the play, everyone watching intently as Harry and Natalie acted out their roles with precision “I’ll hand it to you Neilson, art club did a good job with the backdrops” Kyle said to him.

“Yeah only took about 800 tries before Adam finally approved them” Neilson said pulling on a rope.

“Don’t play with that” Kyle said.

“Why not?” Neilson asked.

“Because you don’t know what it does” Kyle said to him.

“And you do?” Neilson asked.

“Don’t play with it” Kyle said to him, Neilson looked at him and gently yanked the rope “Stop it, Neilson, stop it” Kyle said as Neilson kept at it.

“Oh would you relax it doesn’t do anything” Neilson said pulling it forcefully, suddenly Bradley got hoisted up into the air. Neilson and Kyle looked up as Bradley went further up “Look what you did!” they yelled at each other.

Harry stepped forward, his arms stretched outward “Behold!” he said when suddenly Bradley crashed down on top of him. collective gasps and screams came from the audience.

“Was that Bradley?” Brian asked as they stood up from their seats.

Bradley groaned as he stood up, he looked at the crowd nervously and laughed “Hey” he said waving, Adam covered his face with his hand in frustration. “Everyone enjoying the show?” he asked “Great” he said, he looked down and pulled Harry up “Joseph I believe you have a phone call” he said ushering Harry backstage “Nat you’re doing great!” he whispered to Natalie, she looked over at the crowd nervously before dodging backstage herself.

Mr. Escobar quickly ran onstage “I see we’re experiencing some technical difficulties so until we get them straightened out let’s enjoy some Christmas music from our orchestra” he said quickly.

Adam got up and went backstage, seeing red.

“This isn’t going to be good” Nick said.

“Oh no” Brian agreed.

The curtain then opened revealing the boys “What the hell are you guys doing?!” Bradley asked irritated.

“It wasn’t me! Neilson’s the one screwing with the ropes!” Kyle said.

“What the hell Bradley you could’ve killed me!” Harry yelled at him.

“It’s not my fault! Kyle and Neilson are the ones who sent me into space!” Bradley said to Harry.

“What are you idiots doing?!” Adam seethed.

“He did it!” Kyle and Neilson said pointing at each other, Adam growled, screaming loudly and lunged at them.

They ended up in a scuffle, the backdrops fell forward and landed with a thud on the stage, the entire audience watching.

Mr. Wexler approached the guys’ row “Will you please get your spawn under control?!” he asked angrily.

They each sighed, getting up from their seats and approached the stage.
