Challenges and Growth of Recruitment Consultancy in India
Tumblr media
A qualified Manpower Recruitment Consultant possesses strong organisational and communication skills, and he or she examines a prospective candidate's eligibility for a specific job position after outlining the demands and professional responsibilities, as well as the prerequisites and nature of employment, at the beginning of the recruitment process.
GROWTH OF THE INDUSTRY
In recent years, due to the favourable industrial environment and international corporations outsourcing to India, the Indian employment consultancy sector has grown by 15%. Profit margins have been increasing steadily, which has attracted new enterprises to join the recruitment sector. The benefits offered by the Indian government to improve skills training and the growing prevalence of internet recruiting promise well for the industry's future development.
As a result of the global technological development, the number of recruiting consultants in India has increased. However, the emerging dynamics in the recruitment sector, as well as the tools of recruiting, have created several hiring challenges for recruiting consultants such as:
The Use of Obsolete Techniques
Tech advancements hit the market at an incredible rate. Recruitment firms must evolve and adapt quickly to keep up with the ever-changing environment and advanced youth minds. The old techniques can’t be relied on to get the best results.
The correct course of action is to utilise the most up-to-date technologies and cutting-edge tools available, like ATS, VMS, and CRM software. This will also attract the most promising prospects to the marketplace.
The Immense Amount of CV Pool
With the growth of technology, candidates can apply for several companies at once with a single CV sent to the HR team. This has created a significant problem for Best Staffing Agencies. The CVs submitted are not job-specific and are prominent in numbers, making it difficult for them to filter out the unnecessary stuff and focus on the skills out of large heaps.
Deceptive Job Candidates
Job seekers frequently exaggerate their talents and falsely portray their qualifications. Individually checking these CVs and qualifications is impossible. However, application deception threatens the sustainability of hiring. Measures like assessment and aptitude tests help identify candidates with actual capabilities.
Lack of HR Skills
As a result of a lack of HR expertise, the recruiting procedure has become increasingly time-consuming. The problem is that most of these HR analytical tools are available, but companies don't understand how to put them to appropriate use.
Heavy Competition
You can't avoid competitiveness in the market. Dealing with it in the best possible way is the best solution. Staffing companies have sprung up to meet the ever-increasing requirement for successful recruiting and excellent jobs. As a result, recruiting is highly competitive with challenges and increasing profits per day.
Impatient Candidates
The growing opportunities for the candidates make them impatient to wait for a call back from the job if it takes more than a week or two. Candidates leave from the mid-process as they get opportunities from other companies who respond quickly to fill their vacancies. This creates haste for the staffing agencies to complete the process within a limited time.
Cutting of New Hire Cost
Recruiting firms throughout the world are dealing with the issue of cutting the cost of job candidates. Rather than relying on staffing agencies, many businesses are increasingly conducting their internal screenings to fill open positions. Other firms, however, are lowering the costs associated with the hiring process due to these factors.
Unable to Attract Potential Candidates
Many job vacancies go unfilled because of inadequately targeted advertisements and incomplete information provided by the companies, which fail to attract qualified applicants. It's challenging to get people to apply for jobs since many job postings are vague.
Conclusion
Consider taking the required steps now rather than waiting for worsening issues. Transform them into chances for fresh beginnings. Companies in the recruitment industry should recognise and utilise the advantages of technology, which will open doors to new growth opportunities for the industry.

How Does EOR Manage Recruitment Services in India?
Tumblr media
The Indian talent market has been influential in the global business industry for quite a few decades now. In recent years, India has witnessed a significant rise in the number of international businesses flocking towards its talent market. The primary reason for this rise is India becoming a powerhouse of talent with eligible candidates rigorously upskilling and reskilling their portfolios.
This talent upgrade is driven by global economic shifts, transitioning workforce expectations, and rapid technological advancements. With this expanding and evolving talent pool, the recruitment dynamics in the country have become somewhat volatile. Recruiters are adopting new techniques to hunt for the finest resumes while competing for top-tier talent.
This article is about learning how the most emerging employment model in India— the Employer of Record (EOR) is addressing recruitment challenges in India. The article also talks about the current methods EOR recruiters are approaching to get hold of highly skilled candidates in the country.
Potential Ways of Recruitment in India
With the constant transformation of the Indian job market, the demand for highly skilled individuals has arrived at a pivotal point where potential candidates are seeking out work-life balance and preferring more remote jobs. The booming start-up ecosystem in the country has also led the workforce to perform in challenging and experimental environments.
Consequently, this opens up a multitude of opportunities for global entrepreneurs to explore and build remote teams in India. Now to curate a full-fledged highly qualified remote team, any international organization will need to have a basic understanding of how the recruitment services in India work. We have listed down some of the potential methods of hiring skilled candidates so that organizations aspiring to expand their business in India do not feel at a loss.
1. Job Portals/ Job Boards
The Indian job portals work pretty much the same as any other country. The recruiters post the job vacancies through the hiring software and collect desired resumes through applicant tracking systems (ATS). The majorly used job boards in India are:
Naukri: Launched in 1997, this is the oldest and one of the most popular job boards in India. This site is well maintained with all the updated job vacancies and consists of valuable features like recruiter connection, heightened candidate profile visibility, early application, etc. Another attraction of the site is that it is free for job seekers which brings in a vast talent pool to its site for the recruiters.
Indeed: One of the widely used job portals in India, this site is known for its exclusive and easy-to-use search filters which help both recruiters and candidates to narrow down their preferred portfolios and job profiles respectively.
Glassdoor: This is another prominent and trustworthy job portal used by Indian professionals to hunt for high-profile jobs. This site is particularly installed in every aspiring candidate’s phone because it possesses thousands of active job postings, honest and unbiased company reviews, and job ratings from employees, all free of cost.
Foundit: Formerly known as Monster, this job portal assists employers with the geocentric targeting of qualified candidates.
2. Social Media
HR recruiters are depending on social media platforms more than ever for their hiring processes. This is because Indian youth have been practically sustaining their lives on social media for a few years now. This gives employers access to not only find the right candidates among a diverse talent pool but also helps them do the initial background check of the shortlisted candidates.
LinkedIn is one such social networking site exclusively used by hiring professionals and job aspirants in India to connect with each other and grow their respective networks. Almost every listed company in India and their recruiters have a profile on LinkedIn where along with hiring, they also share ideas, business updates, and indispensable opinions on a daily basis. Besides LinkedIn, Facebook career groups are also commonly used as a talent-hunting platform in India.
3. Referrals
Referral hiring is becoming increasingly popular in India due to its multiple benefits. When a current employee of an organization refers a professional relevant to the vacant position, it becomes easier and faster for both the recruiter and the job seeker to fill the vacant position. Referrals can work through multiple channels like shared networks, alumni associations, social media, etc.
4. Existing Candidate Database
The existing database of all the active as well as passive candidates works as a life-saver for recruiters. It helps recruiters to source suitable candidates quickly and get the most quality hires from the database. Also, a candidate database primarily speeds up the interview process for each shortlisted resource.
5. Traditional methods
Traditional hiring methods refer to the conventional recruitment processes used to promote job vacancies in an organization. This involves job postings in newspapers and other print media, advertisements on news channels, and using other online media channels. Though this method is used less frequently in the current digital era, it proves to be a useful resource for reaching a larger pool of talent countrywide.
6. Recruitment Agencies
A recruitment agency, also known as a staffing agency is a very popular hiring model in India that specializes in carrying out hiring processes for its client companies locally and internationally. Recruitment agencies have dedicated experts to fill out the open positions of a client organization with qualified candidates. They are responsible for the complete recruitment process which involves job posting, sourcing and screening of suitable candidates, shortlisting, interviewing, and forming contracts or offer letters for selected candidates.
How Does EOR Add Value to Recruitment Services in India?
Employer of Record (EOR) is emerging as an employment model and a game-changer in the Indian recruitment industry. By utilizing the above-mentioned recruitment channels, an EOR takes care of the end-to-end recruitment cycle for an international business which includes rolling out offer letters to selected candidates and onboarding them to the team to conduct exit interviews for the candidates. An Employer of Record India is not just your hiring partner, it rather acts as a legal employer for your international team.
Employer of Record (EOR) services in India have a hefty footprint globally as they have the strongest internal recruitment team of dedicated experts with a solid network in the talent market. EOR services in India cumulatively serve thousands of clients spread across continents.
A significant number of people are new to the remote EOR concept and often confuse it with a recruitment agency. However, it is crucial to lay down the basic differences between the two models and understand how they are poles apart. A recruitment agency acts as a hiring assistant for international organizations whose job ends at recruiting the right talent for a vacant position in the organization. At the same time, a remote EOR is an in-house hiring cell that acts like a recruitment agency plus takes on the entire liability of the hired employees and the remote team on a company’s behalf.
Now, over the years EOR companies have come across an assorted group of business owners who were inquisitive about the various notions of recruitment services executed by EORs. We are happy to address a few of the common concerns to make it more transparent for organizations that are planning to build a team in India along with EOR services in India.
How Long Does It Take for an Indian EOR to Onboard the First Recruit?
Having a strong foothold in the job market, EOR Services in India has a huge repository of highly qualified candidate profiles in its database. Thus, it normally takes a couple of weeks to a month to onboard the first hire to the team.
What Is the Process of Selecting a Candidate through an EOR?
EOR Services in India believes in quality rather than quantity and hires only the best-in-class candidates for its clients. There are typically six to seven steps a candidate has to go through before getting hired by EOR recruiters. They are application, screening and shortlisting, technical assessment, technical and HR interview, reference and background check, selection, and job offer and contract.
Is It Mandatory to Hire through EOR Services in India?
While there are options to hire candidates through other employment models, only a remote EOR can provide comprehensive services including payroll, benefits, compliance management, data security, and employee retention among others.
What Is the Replacement Clause in an EOR?
In case a particular employee fails to perform as per the client’s expectations, the EOR partner takes the responsibility of finding a more suitable candidate for the same position on behalf of the client.
Do EOR Services in India have a Background Check Process while Hiring Candidates?
EOR Services in India has a very detailed and rigorous reference and background check process for each hired candidate. The employee verification procedure involves criminal records, identity proof checks, employment background checks, educational qualifications, address verification, professional reference checks, and various other background checks according to the business requirements.

JANUARY 12
NATIONAL YOUTH DAY – A booster dose to to reap demographic dividend
°°Dr. M Ramachandran [The UN Educationist]
As per the datas made available by UNO in 2022, India is the youngest populous country in the world. The median or mid – point age of Indians are 28 years whereas in China and North America it is (37), Europe (45) and 49 years in Japan. This age factor refers to the stage that India is experiencing the third phase of demographic dividend. Demographic dividend occurs when the proportion of productive or working age or income earning population (18 – 59 years) is more than the depended population or children below 15 years and the old aged above 60 years.
India entered the era of demographic dividend in 2005 – 06 and will remain till 2055 – 56 which means 5 decades of sustainable economic growth and development. It is expected that India will reach at its peak of demographic dividend in the financial year 2040 – 41. It means India has its growth potential of workforce to contribute 20% more to its GDP ( Gross Domestic Product ).
India – the largest population country in the world. India is expected to surpass China to become the world’s most populated country by the end of 2023. The share of Indians to the global population is 17.7%. Our Youth population ( age group 18 – 59 years ) is about 62% now. This is a reflection of third phase of demographic dividend, ie, the Labour Force ( Youth Force ) grows more rapidly than population depend ratio. In this context National Youth day is very important to us.
¶ Significance of National Youth Day 2023 :
“You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.”[Swami Vivekananda]
The above message to the youth given by the great philosopher of India, Swami Vivekananda is the core of National Youth Day Celebration. He reminded the youth of our great nation that nobody knows you better than yourself, you are the best teacher of yourself, Power lies within you. God is Omnipresent. Trust yourself, Be a master of your actions. Never underestimate yourself and maintain your unique identity. He exhorted the youth to internalise these principles in our personal life. The very purpose of observing National Youth Day on 12th January ( to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swamy Vivekananda ) every year is to guide and motivate the youth of our country to follow the right path of spirituality and inspire them to face any challenges in their life with confidence, grit and determination and to serve the nation as a Nation Builder.
The significance of National Youth Day is to recognise the important role that the youth of the country has to contribute their dues for harvesting the advantages of demographic dividend through which they can serve the Nation as Nation Builder.
The New Education Policy ( NEP 2020 ) is another major instrument to speed up the phase of demographic dividend. All the innovative and skill acquisition programmes incorporated in the New Education Policy will show its full outcome by the year 2040. Simultaneously India will reach at the pinnacle of economic prosperity or the peak of demographic dividend.
Through the Central, State and Union Territory Governments are filling the existing vacancies, recruitment to Defence forces through Agnipath schemes, new job opportunities made available by corporate firms through which millions of our youth population joins the productive work force. At the same time millions of youth particularly under graduates and graduates seek admission opportunities in foreign countries which in turn stand in the way of reaping the harvest of demographic dividend. This is a serious concern to be addressed by the authorities on the eve of National Youth Day.

The impact of covid 19 on the society
The covid 19 outbreak was one of the unexpected and deadly virus that fell on the  world out of no where. Before it  spread all we could hear was news, rumors and headlines about the virus that by then was killing people in Wuhan, china. As Americans we didn’t believe in it thus we went ahead  carrying out daily activities, businesses were carried on, schools were still open and international travels were not restricted by then, everything was normal because the government never put up  measures to maybe protect the American people from the deadly virus. Before the corona outbreak  I remember I had just applied for a new job at star bucks, and I was waiting on the reply, luckily enough  I got hired and started working the following week. By then everything went smooth, shifts were back to back and normal and at times I used to pick up extra hours because the store was so busy my co workers never liked working extra hours. On the 15 of March if I remember I woke up on the news saying that a number of people got the virus and it was spreading rapidly. As soon I got to work like around 11:30, our store manager chaired a meeting informing us of the rules and safety measures that were put in place of which were, wearing a mask at work all time, wearing gloves while making or brewing customer orders was mandatory. Unfortunately our hours were cut and we were told that we would be laid off if the Government puts up public restrictions.
By the end of the march Corona virus was declared a pandemic and we were laid off immediately without further notice. This was a huge a blow to me and my coworkers because that fact that we all were students and the fact that this job really helped us with car fees and other expenses. These were hard times that really hit so many people in different ways financially, socially and economically.   I tried applying for part time jobs with different companies but it was vain, some of the companies replied saying, “ we are so sorry but we have no vacancy or position at the moment.” I had no option, my sister who is nurse was taking care of us because she was the only person in our household that had a job by then. She was working as a Licensed registered nurse at kaiser Permanente at woodland hills, she was constantly called to go for work even on the weekends and she always narrated stories about the situation they were going through  at the hospital. She narrated them being a top priority in health care the hospital couldn’t lay them off because the number of covid patients was on the rise. Her story is so related to Dr Rieux  in camu’s novel the plague. Imagine dealing with Covid patients and at the same time being exposed to the virus although safety measures where put up in the hospital it doesn’t necessarily prevent the spread of the virus. Her job put her at risk but her profession couldn’t let her quarantine at home and she was devoted to helping recovering covid patients. She always  said, “ Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest accomplishment or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” This quote always made her love her job and it helped her a lot in comforting the patients and it was also a motivation to her. When you look at how quickly the United States Government the declared the stay at home order this was because of the huge number of rising covid cases every. Hospital were so full and the equipments were not enough thus this lead restrictions of who is supposed to go to the hospital and who is not. Elderly people were at risk of catching the virus and dying so quick, youth were continuously ordered to quarantine and curfews were always put up in various cities and states. The pandemic limited social activities and interactions and for students who had clinical classes were extended/ suspended until further notice. More than 1.5 billion students were out of due to Covid-19  not until when colleges started offering online classes this some how eased studies. We believed the pandemic was gonna be s short term thing but it was like the plague in camus novel. People in oran believed the pandemic was a hoax and that the rat curses were a natural thing  not until people started catching the virus and the death rate went on increasing and mogues were full and this resulted in burying the corpses in mass graves. The American Government put up so many measures and created  so bodies like the American rescue plan  that would help the American people especially those with small businesses and families that are not financially stable. The Covid 19  pandemic shown that an infectious disease threat anywhere can be a threat everywhere. The US government had challenges acquiring simple items such as nasal swabs because of its reliance on asian suppliers, and faced shortages in disinfecting and alcohol wipes because of its reliance on global chemical suppliers,  in order for the the government to prepare for future pandemics such supplies should be stocked well in advance of the need, or domestic supplies need to be available.

Canada’s unemployment hits record low after adding 27,700 jobs in May; Two Canadian women volunteers abducted in Ghana at gunpoint
~CXL~
Just 4.4 per cent of Irish people are jobless at the moment, compared to 16 per cent at the height of the recession.
The figures, released by the Central Statistics Office, show that there are now 108,200 people out of work — a fall of 33,200 compared to the same month last year.
Youth unemployment, which covers those aged 15 to 24, stood at ten per cent in May.
That was down from 10.3 per cent in April. But with Brexit looming, are these figures set to dramatically change?
Here economist at global job site Indeed PAWEL ADJRAN explains why our job market is booming and why firms must work harder now to recruit the very best:
THERE was great news for the economy last week, with the CSO announcing that the unemployment rate in May was just 4.4 per cent.
That’s the lowest level since back in the boom days of 2005, and down from a peak of 16 per cent in the depths of the recession.
In the past three years Ireland has created over 221,000 full-time jobs — which is more than the population of Cork and Limerick cities combined.
Some commentators will argue that we are now at full employment but there is ample evidence to suggest that Ireland’s job boom has not yet run out of steam.
There was strong employment growth in the first quarter of this year, and there are still almost 20,000 job vacancies in the economy.
The question is, with demand for workers still high, where will these candidates come from?
The first source will likely be further inward migration from overseas — 44 per cent of the growth in employment over the last year was driven by non-Irish nationals, and one trend we noticed on Indeed’s jobs site was a surge of interest in job opportunities in Ireland from UK-based workers amidst the uncertainty over Brexit.

Huawei, IT companies hire Nigerians after Osinbajo’s plea
Huawei a global information technology company, has helped hire no less than 280 Nigerians at a job fair years after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo urged the tech giant to go beyond training Nigerians but hiring them.
Chronicle NG reports that Osinbajo during a virtual courtesy call from Huawei Nigeria, led by its new CEO, Trevor Liu, urged the tech company to hire Nigerian youths, who he said were some of the best tech experts in the world.
He told Huawei that trainings are good but that he wants technology jobs for young Nigerians as he continues to devise ways to create employment for the youths.
“We need to develop an ecosystem of competent Nigerians who can work locally and get international jobs as well, a business-outsourcing-type arrangement,” Osinbajo told Huawei in November 2020.
On Friday, 2 August 2022, over 2,000 Nigerian youths jostled for 280 vacancies at the Huawei Job Fair held in Abuja.
The job fair organised by Huawei, saw youths from different parts of Nigeria submit their resumes to Huawei and other IT companies.
Meanwhile some of the applicants were interviewed at the venue for possible employment.

Mr Osita Nweze, Huawei Deputy Managing Director for Cyber Security, who represented the Managing Director, expressed commitment to contributing to the Gross Domestic Growth of Nigeria.
He said one of the major commitments of the company was to help bridge the unemployment gap in the country by creating job opportunities.
Nweze said that there were lots of talents in the country that could be explored to contribute to the country’s ICT growth.
He said the company was focused on four major areas in carrying out its mandate.
The four areas according to him are seeds for future programme, ICT academy, ICT competition as well as the job fair.
“Nigeria as a nation provides investment in Information Communication Technology (ICT), meanwhile, the workforce of a nation is the most valuable asset meant to grow the nation.
“It is in this light we assembled key players in the industry today,’’ he said.
He commended the Nigerian government’s continuous support in ensuring that the company accomplished its mission of a fully digitised nation.
According to him, the Federal Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the company to develop ICT talents in the country.
“This development gives Huawei the courage to keep pushing for a better digitised Nigeria.
“I also thank other partners for the collaboration.
“For the candidates who are here today ready to enter into the ICT industry, I encourage you to continue to pursue more knowledge for more expertise in the field,” he said.
The Huawei Human Resource Manager, Mrs Juliet Emeronye, said the company was fully committed to partnering with relevant organisations to create job opportunities for Nigerians.
She said, “our commitment is creating a digital world in Nigeria.”
Emeronye, who said that Huawei was established in 1987, and started operations in 2004, providing engineering services for the major telecommunication as well as other relevant companies.
NAN reports that over 15 IT companies were on ground at the fair to recruit into various positions like Backend Engineering, IT Security Support and Maintenance Engineering, and Sales promotion among others.

In this way, apprenticeship training is acting as a formidable tool. Also, you have comprehended the nexus of apprentice and economy, how India can reap its benefit by utilizing its young population.
Now there are many training institutes where an individual can get training, these institutes are easily accessible via the internet. Online an individual can search for various
apprenticeship
vacancies
and can do
