Fallin’ All In You - Giselle

pairing. idol!giselle x girlfriend!reader
synopsis. giselle playfully takes on the role of makeup artist while sitting on Y/N’s lap, turning every brushstroke into an excuse for a kisses.
The soft hum of lo-fi music filled the cozy living room, sunlight filtering through the curtains and casting a warm glow across the scattered makeup on the coffee table. Brushes, palettes, and foundation bottles were spread out in a chaotic but intentional mess—courtesy of Giselle.
Y/N sat on the couch, leaned back comfortably, arms resting lazily on the cushions as Giselle settled herself on her lap. Her knees framed Y/N’s thighs, and her weight was perfectly balanced. She had a brush in one hand and a mischievous glint in her eye, which only meant trouble.
“Alright, sit still,” Giselle instructed, her voice light but authoritative. “I’m making you my masterpiece.”
Y/N raised an eyebrow, smirking. “And by masterpiece, you mean clown, right?”
Giselle gasped dramatically, placing a hand on her chest. “How dare you? I’m an artist!” She leaned in closer, their faces just inches apart, her expression softening into a grin. “Besides, you’re already too pretty to mess up.”
Before Y/N could respond, Giselle pressed a soft kiss to her cheek—just a brief touch of her lips, but enough to make Y/N’s heart stumble.
“Is kissing part of the makeup process now?” Y/N teased, her hands naturally resting on Giselle’s waist to steady her.
Giselle pretended to think, swirling the foundation brush in her hand. “Hmm… It is now. It’s called the kiss-and-glam method. Super effective.”
Y/N chuckled, her eyes following Giselle’s every move as she dabbed foundation onto her face. She was meticulous yet playful, her concentration occasionally interrupted by her own desire to lean in and sneak another kiss.
“There,” Giselle said after applying a thin layer. She tilted her head to inspect her work, her fingertips grazing Y/N’s jawline. “Flawless.”
Y/N rolled her eyes. “You barely did anything.”
Giselle grinned, grabbing a blush brush. “Patience, baby. Perfection takes time.” She lightly dusted Y/N’s cheeks with blush, leaning in close as she worked. Y/N could feel her breath against her skin, warm and comforting.
“Oops,” Giselle whispered, biting her lip as she lightly tapped the brush against Y/N’s nose. “Too much blush.”
Y/N raised an eyebrow. “Guess you’ll have to kiss it better.”
Giselle didn’t hesitate. She leaned in, brushing her lips against the tip of Y/N’s nose in a soft kiss before pulling back, her eyes sparkling with amusement. “Better?”
“Much,” Y/N replied, her voice dropping slightly, a playful challenge in her tone.
Giselle moved on to the eyeshadow palette, choosing a soft shimmer. As she leaned in to apply it, her body shifted slightly on Y/N’s lap, sending a jolt of awareness through both of them. Y/N’s fingers tightened their grip on Giselle’s waist instinctively, and for a moment, the air between them felt thicker.
“You’re staring,” Giselle said without looking up, her voice teasing.
“Can you blame me?” Y/N shot back, her eyes lingering on Giselle’s lips. “You’re kind of hard to ignore when you’re sitting on me like this.”
Giselle paused, her eyes meeting Y/N’s. A slow smile spread across her face as she set the eyeshadow palette aside. “You’re distracting me, you know that?”
“I thought that was your job,” Y/N said, her fingers lightly tracing circles on Giselle’s waist.
Giselle leaned down, their faces barely an inch apart. “Maybe it is,” she whispered, her voice barely audible. “What are you gonna do about it?”
Y/N smirked, her eyes flicking to Giselle’s lips and back up. “I might kiss you until you forget what you were doing.”
“Tempting,” Giselle murmured, brushing her thumb along Y/N’s jawline. “But you’ll have to catch me first.”
Before Y/N could respond, Giselle leaned in and kissed her again—this time, slow and deliberate. Her lips were soft, lingering for just a moment longer than necessary before pulling away.
Y/N blinked, slightly dazed. “That’s not fair.”
Giselle giggled, resting her forehead against Y/N’s. “Life’s not fair. But I’ll make it up to you.”
Her lips found Y/N’s again, this time with more certainty. The kiss deepened, and Y/N’s hands slid up Giselle’s back, holding her close. The rest of the world faded away—no music, no makeup brushes—just the warmth of Giselle’s body pressed against hers and the electric connection that seemed to hum between them.
When they finally pulled back for air, Giselle smiled, her cheeks flushed. “Forget the makeup,” she said breathlessly. “I think you look perfect just like this.”
Y/N grinned, her thumb gently brushing a stray strand of hair from Giselle’s face. “I told you, I was already pretty.”
“Yeah,” Giselle whispered, her eyes soft. “But you’re also mine.”
Y/N’s heart swelled at the words, pulling Giselle in for one more kiss—slow and sweet, a promise sealed in the warmth of their embrace.
The makeup could wait. This moment? It was too good to let go.

A Little Elaboration on why a certain Animatic does the Lovers section of God Games the best
Alright if you've been following me you should know that one of my favorite tertiary characters in Epic the Musical is Ares and it's primarily because there's no reason for any version of the God of War to go harder on a verse than the God of Music yet Earle Gresham Jr. did so anyway and most of us, including those who write Warrior Penelope AU fanfics, thank him for it.
It's also a challenge for animators because while Apollo's and Hephaestus's verses and scenes are fairly straight forward, the primary challenge with Hera and Aphrodite is which glammed the fuck outfits they're going to be wearing, and Zeus needs to be depicted with all the pomp and grandiose we'd expect after hearing him proclaim his greatness and power in 'Thunder Bringer'; pretty every animatic artist universally agrees that Ares and Athena have to fight and flyte* at the same time and while all of them usually do a good job depicting the basic gist on how said fight usually goes, Ares temporarily having an edge over Athena, Athena emotionally rallying after Ares insults Telemachus, and Athena beating and/or intimidating Ares and Aphrodite into releasing him.**
But there is one animatic that does the Lovers section of God Games the best in fact it's the only part they've done and while I desperately hope they do the rest of the song they did the Lovers section so good it...sticks with me in ways that never leave my brain cavity and that's @sixofclovers's version of that part of a scene which...oh geez were do I start?
First off, one thing to notice is that while the character designs are simple but no less striking, it gives a chance to do things different from how animatics go, for example it opens with Athena having a lyre string and a hammer and giving it to her owl which is explained in the description stating that Athena in this version has to collect tokens from all the participants in Zeus's game, which in this case is Apollo's lyre string, Hephaestus's forge hammer, Aphrodite's pearl ear ring, (most likely) a peacock feather from Hera, and the golden ichor from Ares, which is already an interesting idea on it's own but that last one is pretty interesting in ways I'll get to later.
Then it cuts to Aphrodite and, unusually, she doesn't look seductive, flirty, or playful, she looks pissed at Athena and in tears while surrounded by a purple aura that is rapidly growing and when it comes in contact with Athena it compels her to cry and share her grief. Which also as a bonus forces Athena to be put on her back foot especially since as she weakly defends Odysseus with 'he was busy fighting' she has to wipe away her tears as Aphrodite sings 'more like busy spiting, the cyclops' she takes off her ear piercing and holds it to her eye in a striking visual way that references said Cyclops and begins to crush it in away that lets Athena know she finds her argument uncompelling until Athena in tears has to beg for Aphrodite to 'please reconsider this' while shapeshifting out of her armor symbolically making herself vulnerable before Aphrodite which causes her to loosen her grip on her pearl ear ring until...
'Really Athena? These old tricks?'
BAM
'Ares!'
And then Ares charges in and back hands her to the floor while Athena desperately barely gets time to magically summon her armor and shield to shield herself as Ares steps on her while Athena, and by proxy we the audience, get a good look at Ares and we see that he's crying along with Aphrodite and Athena which means that not only is Ares unaffected by Aphrodite's forced empathy making him cry, he shares it and is empowered by it. But as Ares gets to singing he kicks Athena away to give her a chance to get on her feet so Athena can prepare to get her grisly token Ares's of approval.
Another thing to note is that while the other 4 gods have personal objects they can give away as tokens, Ares's token is his ichor. Ares explicitly wants to clash spears with Athena and the only way he'll agree to release Odysseus is if she can draw ichor, not beat, just get a single cut of his blood which in turn paints a version of Ares that is confident in his ability to fight Athena under Aphrodite's forced empathy wave.
Said confidence is further backed up as while Athena is still on the back foot despite having her shield and spear already drawn, Ares doesn't even have his spear drawn yet and Athena is still on her back foot, and when Ares does draw his spear he draws it so fast it extinguishes 6 torches behind him which symbolizes the 6 men Odysseus sacrifices to Scylla as he calls out Odysseus unwillingness to even try to fight Scylla (didn't even try to kill her.)
And as Ares continues fighting Athena while he laments his cowardness, he beats her pretty evenly before throwing her to the ground while calling Telemachus pathetic and weak. Which in turn gives Athena a chance to channel the rage she feels at Ares for insulting her friend and to emotionally rally past Aphrodite's empathy wave but what is usual is that even when Athena is using her owl as a distraction to get Ares to turn his back for a surprise attack, she still can't get a clean cut on his neck...so instead she points to Aphrodite as she tells him 'And tell your lover that a broken heart can mend' and charges at her to force Ares to intercept Athena and catch the spear head.
And despite having the pointy end of a spear firmly in his hand it's still not enough to get him to draw blood and while Ares could probably kick Athena away and continue fighting, Aphrodite, who has been watching them fight, smiles in approval of Athena's willingness to protect her friends and Ares's protective nature (another thing that rarely gets shown) and hugs Ares from behind as if to tell him 'it's okay baby, you can let him go' and Ares grips the spear tighter and willingly draws his ichor thanks to Athena's urging to give Odysseus a chance to prove he isn't a coward and Aphrodite's approval of his release. Which is further demonstrated when Ares looks at Aphrodite who gives a smile not and they both say 'ugh...release them' as Ares gives Athena's owl Aphrodite's pearl earring covered in his blood so Athena can move on.
It's an amazing animatic that lets all 3 characters be more than how they're usually depicted in these animatic, Aphrodite doesn't get to be the sultry seductress, she gets to be aggrieved at Odysseus for letting his mom die, Athena gets a chance to show her ability to experience empathy and how dirty she can be in a fight, and Ares...gets to unironically (at least with Aphrodite helping him) be the martially superior God of War in a straight up fight and show emotions beyond rage and demonstrate his protective nature, and as an added bonus it's one of the few animatics where Athena does beat or intimidate Ares and Aphrodite into surrendering, they both give up of their own will which is...wow!
I hope the guys at Epic do that scene in a way that's something similar because...I can't get over how breathtaking it is and I once again shout out at sixcloveranimations for doing a fantastic job and doing it debatably the best.
*scold or in this case quarrel
**Special shout out to Neal the Illustrator, @anniflamma, and @gigizetz for having some of the best full animatics for God Games.
#epic the musical#god games#epic ares#epic athena#epic aphrodite#athena#ares#aphrodite#greek mythology#no seriously I've watched that animatic so many times it's concerning

Okay, after watching several Who Framed Roger Rabbit reaction videos, clips from Dimension 20's Mentopolis, and rewatching Shipwrecked's The Case of the Gilded Lily, I believe I'm in the right headspace to do this, so let's get cracking:
In 1930s Hollywood, Priscilla Grey (Prisoner) and Skip Gallant (Skeptic) are private investigators who are trying to keep their business afloat, alongside their long-suffering secretary, Sienna Shade (Spectre). They've been working together ever since Skip took on Priscilla as a client and proved that she was being framed for a crime she didn't commit, and while they've been getting along so far, tensions are running high as business is starting to slowly dry up... until someone new walks into their office.
Dr. Percy Noble (Paranoid) is a biologist who's recently made a breakthrough in his research, but he's realized that it could lead to something incredibly dangerous, so he hid it away. He knows full well that by doing so, he's likely angered some very influential people, not to mention his boss, Jonathan Echo (Narrator). To make matters worse, he's been being followed for the past few days, and he has no idea who they are. Percy's got nowhere else to turn, and he needs the help of Grey & Gallant Investigations... and the story kicks off from there.
Priscilla and Skip's agency owes a lot of their previous notoriety to the fact that their respective twin siblings, Danielle Grey (Damsel) and Simon Gallant (Smitten), are famous movie stars and a Hollywood "It" couple... who are secretly in a lavender marriage. In reality, Simon's in an on-again, off-again relationship with Sienna's brother Colin (Cold), and Danielle's everything but legally married to Willow Chase (Witch), a singer at a club called the Swindler's Den.
The Swindler's Den is owned by a man named Oliver Teagues (Opportunist), who's got a lot of glitz and glam but is also a bit of a shady type, and doesn't do a lot for free. The only person he seems to trust is his faithful bouncer and business partner, Scully Boone (Stubborn). Scully's got a lot of rumors swirling around him about his past, though if you ask him about it, he'll punch your lights out.
There are two people out there who are both Priscilla and Skip's greatest allies and biggest obstacles---Sergeant Harry Knight (Hero), a cop who acts as their insider on the force yet is constantly worried about them getting in over their heads, and Conrad Tracy (Contrarian), a flashy reporter who always ends up writing brilliant news stories about their cases... though, he often winds up publishing stuff about the cases when they're in the middle of them, which is definitely a challenge when they need to be doing secret stuff. Harry's usually working alongside a sharp-eyed detective named Hunter Doyle (Hunted), who's well known for his impeccable survival instincts... and his jumpiness. Still, though, he's good at his job.
Over the course of their career, Priscilla and Skip have come across several criminals---some good intentioned, some bad intentioned. Among those are Stace Racket (Stranger), an art thief famous for their disguises and habit of only taking from other thieves; Chester Dunnagan (Cheated), a pickpocket who would probably be a lot more successful if it wasn't for his constant string of bad luck; and Addison Vernon (Adversary) and Zora Ray (Razor), the cutthroat ringleaders of a organization known as the Crimson Daggers and largely regarded as the power couple of the criminal underworld.
And on the flip side of things, Grey & Gallant Investigations has done several cases for the rich and wealthy, with varying results. Some of their most prolific have been Gary Quinn (Long Quiet) and Samantha Prince (Shifting Mound), who are the execs at Danielle and Simon's studio; Natalie Monroe (Nightmare) a flighty young socialite who makes a habit out of getting herself into increasingly dangerous scrapes for the thrill of it, and Titania Brightower (Tower), an old-money actress who demands power and respect from pretty much everybody. Titania's never seen without her pet cheetah Beatrice (Beast), and tailing after her is her constantly stressed and beaten-down husband, Benjamin Kells (Broken).
I still gotta figure out the story here... but I'll be damned if figuring out everything wasn't fun.

Jjk headcanons but I’m right.
Ft. Inumaki, Gojo, and Itadori.
Most SFW I’ll mark NSFW with ⭐️
Asstoru:
-Something that’s obvious is that he’s the biggest tease EVA.
Little quips like “I don’t know do I?”
When you’re just trying to get his feelings about something. Loves to see you frustrated.
-Didn’t lose his V-card until College, and he was 100% not sober. He didn’t even really like who he was with they were just hot and he was tired of being the only virgin. it sounds like a surprise but he’s actually very picky with who he’s with. He may accept numbers and make out with random people at the club but he’s actually very selective with who he brings to bed. his body count isn’t in the hundreds like everyone thinks. (It’s definitely not low either though 😭)
-He would either settle down with someone that challenges him and is just as smart, hardheaded and driven. Or, a total bim/him/thembo. A pretty lil thing he can come home to.
-Love language is gifts and maybe touch.
He loves seeing you get all embarrassed over the bare minimum like flowers on your birthday or expensive chocolate. Nothing makes him happier than seeing a piece of glam they he got you strewn over your neck.
-he’s a raging bisexual but overcompensates for that gay part of him which “how much he likes women.” And made himself a womanizer to avoid dealing with those feelings
⭐️ He’s an annoyingly quick learner. This applies to everything- but especially sex. You can try and hide your reactions and pretend like he’s not doing a good job to try and win this little game you two play, but he’ll just (unfairly) dissect you with six eyes and use his powers to monitor your heartbeat, follow the muscle convulsions of your walls, listen to every little stifled breath and whimper. You can’t hide anything from him! You just masturbated? He knows. You just had a wet dream with him in it? He knows. You just zoned out for .02 seconds because his shirt fits him so well??? He fucking knows! It’s seriously annoying.
⭐️ He uses you as a power trip. Play fights where he pretends you’re winning, or hickeys that you think will last. But the second you look away he heals it and loves how flustered and upset you get. (He’s really just doing it so you’ll mark him up again) repeat ad infinitum until he’s done receiving them.
Inumaki Toe gay:
-His inability to speak was something that he had grown used to. Until he met you, and he found himself wanting desperately to talk to you like everyone else does.
Write. Him. Letters.
No one has ever made an effort to actually get close to him like you do. Sticky notes, texts, hand symbols, the works.
He’s been totally happy sitting idly as people spoke to him or around him, but you don’t settle for that. You insist that he deserves to be heard- and he falls in love almost immediately.
-Love with him is so fucking sweet and funny- it’s the shit you see in books and movies.
-he’s sassy. He’ll just start furrowing his brows you know under his mask he’s pouting because you didn’t want to hold his hand.
“Don’t do that.”
“Okaka.”
He just huffs and turns around.
Sassy man apocalypse survivor.
-He’s so funny and I will DIE on this hill. Sometimes he’s not even trying, he’s just that awesome.
He’ll slip you notes of cheesy pickup lines and flirting that makes you flustered.
-You two are the last to realize that you both like eachother, you both thought it was one sided- but literally anyone who looks at the way you two act with eachother knows.
-Leaves you trinkets/gifts that he thinks you would like.
-Love language is 100% touch
⭐️He whimpers. AHHHGHHG I’m literally going crazy thinking about this but it’s another hill I’ll fucking die on. He can’t tell you or affirm to you what he likes verbally but he is vocal- it’s almost pornographic the way he whines and grips onto the sheets.
⭐️A switch through and through, a bit more vanilla overall but will try anything you like. He probably wouldn’t use his cursed speech on you unless you practically begged him for it, and even then he makes you establish 10 layers of safety precautions. It has to be something you reallllyyy want, he wouldn’t suggest it. And he’d only do the commands you told him you want.
Boobji Itadori:
-Has never felt the touch of a woman in his life 😭
That’s not exactly a secret but yk.
-He says he has a type but he really doesn’t, he’s a total sweetheart. He may check women out with his “ideal type” but he would date anyone who asked him out and make you his world.
-He’s confident in school and friendships but he gets red and flustered easily if you make the first moves, He goes along with it and adapts well though.
-He’s just so fiery and passionate it’s hard to keep up with him sometimes, but his motivation to help others is one of his best qualities, everyone is equal in his eyes.
-He’s a struggling ally. And this applies to everything- not because he doesn’t want to be, but because he’s just stupid 💀.
He’s the type to look at two lesbians walking down the road and start blasting girl in red in solidarity and making a whole scene, or look at stretch marks and say “who did this to you 😡/why did you do this to yourself?🥺”
But he’s trying.
-love language is words of affirmation and acts of service.
Acts of service as in he would rip a tree out for you to prove that he could.
He’s an excellent communicator, Without even trying too, he just does somehow. He’s good at sympathizing with people and is very emotionally intelligent, especially considering all the shit he’s been through.
And don’t you dare try that “it’s nothing” or “I’m fine” shit because he WILL annoy you until you tell him.
-Overall, 10/10. He’s a little stupid but hey isn’t everyone?

Not a familiar constellation or star in sight. Frog stared at the strange spattering of stars and couldn't feel a whisper of the connection her years of training as an Astrologian had gifted her.
Then she focussed and spoke the familiar words of spells that called out to the patrons of the stars who weren't present, whose associated stars were not even in the sky. And the warmth of the celestial blessing flooded her; the gaze she felt as she drew intercession down to heal answered in the very sigils of gods who weren't even born yet.
"Maybe it's the distant connection through the Crystal Tower," she mused, still dissatisfied and confused, but with no clue where to look next.
(A malm away in Anagnorisis, Charmion shivered and blinked, and looked around at her coworkers, seeing they'd startled too. "Did you just feel Azem channel a tiny bit of aether from you too? I wonder what that was for! Maybe the familiar is still here and she needed some more?"
They shrugged about it as Weird Azem Things, the least of which had happened that afternoon, and went back to their work)
...
Frog still trying to understand how Astrologian worked out in Elpis before Myths of the Realm answered some very pressing questions and took the mystic woo out of AST's prayer-based spells.
"Job" for FFXIV Vanilla Gpose Challenge... My favourite thing you can do in just vanilla gpose is playing with all the spells and abilities, watching them frame by frame and appreciating details that whoosh by in combat.
.... yeah that's her current AST glam; if we're not using mods I'm not buying a half dozen pots of the expensive dark blue dye to recreate her levelling gear, we're errrrrrrrrr doing a meta commentary on the limitations of vanilla gpose for storytelling. Or time is fake in Elpis. :P
#ffxiv#endwalker spoilers#bounding frog#ffxivvanilla24#vanillagpose24#i have so many thoughts about how I'd conceptually redesign AST from the ground up and think it's such a wasted storytelling space#but this one thing did tickle me because it sort of looped around and answered itself#........ kinda like someone casting a timey wimey spell

For the gif request meme: 13 (favorite location) in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier? 🌸 Thank you!
you went for a very challenging one lmao however! i found it: Custer's Grove High School, GA, as shown in Episode 2, where John is getting ready to have an interview as the new Captain America.
✨ gifset! ✨
The first part takes place in the locker room, just John, Olivia, and Lemar. It's a standard hideous high school locker room, but that's what makes it so good - it's behind the scenes, it's their history, all three of them having been there years before, and now they're back but it's so different. John's comfortable, trusts them with his everything, sharing those insecurities about this sudden new title he has to live up to and all his worries about handling it. Lemar and Olivia are there with him, supporting him, understanding him. It's so sweet. I love it, all the jokes, the way they so obviously know each other down to the bone. It's so perfect.
and then!
The outside world - marching band, cheering crowds, fireworks, bright lights, all of the chaos and glam of the mantle and none of the humanity, the doubt we'd just seen. John knows how to put the face on for the crowd, knows he needs to be confident, give the people their Captain America back even though he's struggling with it himself.
The contrast is so unbelievably sharp, and I also like just how much it echoes the high school football entrance, just to make it even more stark. He's not running out with a team, he's running out alone (though Lemar and Olivia are there on the field, but John is now a lone figure as Captain America), he's not John Walker anymore, he's Captain America.
Even then his true self leaks through sometimes - the way he's so uncomfortable in the spotlight, the way he's uncomfortable being praised for just doing his job (the way he sees it, even though he has three(!!!!) Medals of Honor!), the way he tries to downplay it all but knows he can't because he needs to keep that shiny confident mask up. It's all so good.
you got an essay too. sorry lol.
and if anyone else wants to entertain me -> the request meme!
#i love heeeemmmmmm#john walker#olivia walker#lemar hoskins#tfatws#the falcon and the winter soldier#sixdemon answers#sixdemon ask game#or whatever idk its cool#perhaps i am spoiled by working with Dead Boy Detectives so much since that show has so many stunning settings....ah well

Femslash February is right around the corner, huh? Seems like a good time to get back into tumblr, though I don't think I'll be up to try another writing challenge any time soon. ^^;
The past couple of months have been… kind of rough for me. Part is current events. Part is events at my job (now is not a good time to be in either animation or software engineering, and I work at the intersection of both). I’m hoping that getting back into fandom things might help with the stress, but I just haven't been feeling very creative lately.
So what now…? Well, I've got a lot to catch up on, both on AO3 and tumblr, and I'm slowly making my way through that. Expect random comments and reblogs out of the blue, haha.
I also might make a bluesky in the near future, since as much as I enjoy tumblr, it seems safest not to rely solely on it given the increasingly bizarre behavior of tumblr/Wordpress's owner. :/
As for in-game things… I've taken Fordola through Bozja, and I'm currently trying to learn how to win Duels on her to help out my FC! Also because I just think it would be cool to pit Fordola against the IVth legion characters and have her win, hehe.
Meanwhile on Alice, I'm working on getting all her caster jobs up to 100, after which I'll put together an Eorzea collection for her Shinku cosplay glam. I'm also finally getting around to doing Society quests on her to help with the leveling, and it's nice being back in Ala Mhigo for the Ananta quests. <3

07/05/24: Manifesting challenge but make it 70s Love Witch Aesthetic
Day One: write down your goals
Alright. Easy enough. It’s a Dark Moon and I’m riding the energy of what I’ve already been working on manifesting for myself. Or as my sister would say “femifesting”. I think I’ll take it a step further and call it “themifesting”. I have some fairly basic goals in mind, listed now in no particular order of importance.
1. Land this job I’m hoping for, which gets me out of a low paying wage position with no benefits and back in to the vet industry with better pay and great perks and a four day work week.
2. Pretty sure I know the apartment complex I want to move in to next. I have a goal of a timeframe that will optimize finances and logistics.
2a. Bonus, completely redecorate my new place in unhinged 70s witchy goth glam pulp style.

3. Complete enrollment and payment process for my first quarter back in college.
4. Build more community, support, and mutual aid/trade and barter for myself as a solo parent needing child care so that I can have the time I need and want for both studying for my degree and participating in the burlesque community more.
5. More burlesque. More art. More music.
6. Start a band. (If we can’t dress like this, then I don’t want it…)

7. Rebrand my personal look. Something to match an aesthetic similar to my new home design. Maybe just completely redo my closet.

FeeFees: And now for the feels, aka feefees. Thoughts of my ex and his adjacent circus have been popping up and taking up more space then I’d normally allow.
To summarize, I am working on not spending the energy worrying about them or what they might do when it’s not reality. It’s not true. It’s not happening. It’s not the present. It’s not part of what I am attracting in to my life and I don’t want any part of it to affect the future I’m building for my little dude and myself. There’s a lot of hope that things will be okay and I will succeed while also fighting that undercurrent of anxiety which is trying to rob me of my peace and ability to stay present.

Oh I love that number! Very fitting for the day too. Almost all of my glams are for Cobi's Bard, she doesn't really play any other jobs. This one is one of my personal favorites which made it odd I could find like... no shots of it. So I took one. I even have a bow chosen for this one, most outfits just get the same neutral bow that doesn't clash haha. It's also one of the few I really like the hat on.

An interview with Jason Todd
Not sure if I am going to post this on AO3 as it is so different than what my current readers know me to write. Also if you want something added I can expand it just drop me a note :)
Starting a criminal enterprise might sound exciting, like a big-budget movie plot. But in reality, it's not all glitz and glam. Ask yourself, how does one go about setting up shop in the underworld? Picture this: you wake up one day, sip your coffee, and think, "You know what I need? A criminal empire!" First, you’d need a catchy name. Something that strikes fear and admiration at the same time. Maybe "Joe's Underworld Services"? Next, you consider your niche. Do you prefer running a smuggling ring or perhaps a thrilling heist crew? Each comes with its own set of challenges and skills.
After that, you need a crew—loyal people who won’t snitch on you. This can be tricky, as trust is hard to come by in less-than-legal circles. You might host a few “team-building” activities to find the right folks. Don’t forget to think about your operations. You’ll need a plan for logistics, like how to move your goods without getting caught. Maybe invest in some fast cars or look into secret passageways.
Then there’s the whole issue of money. You need to keep an eye on your cash flow, which might mean finding a reliable accountant who won’t turn you in. Let’s not forget about the marketing—you want to be known! Word of mouth works well, but it has its risks. You could go old-school with flyers, or maybe hire a street artist to make a mural. Just be careful that it doesn’t draw too much attention.
Lastly, you must consider your exit strategy. Every crime boss needs a plan B, in case things go south. Remember, the life of crime isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. The danger is real, and so are the consequences. So if you’re really serious about this venture—or just kidding around—make sure you’re ready for the ride.
Being a crime boss is no walk in the park. It’s more like a stroll through a minefield with a blindfold on. You’ve got rival gangs itching to invade your turf, eager to snatch your power like it’s the last piece of pizza at a party. Then there are those pesky attempts on your life. It’s like a bad game of whack-a-mole; you deal with one threat, and another pops up.
And let’s not forget about your so-called loyal underlings. They’re often less than honest, skimming money here and there like it’s their personal piggy bank. One moment, they’re kissing your ring, and the next, they’re plotting your downfall. Trusting them is like trusting a cat not to knock over a vase.
This job doesn’t come with a manual, so you have to juggle many tasks. You need to oversee operations, keep an eye on the competition, and stay alive all at the same time. Being a crime boss means you must plan for the unexpected, which is often more common than you’d like.
It’s a tough gig, filled with constant pressure. Every day feels like a high-stakes poker game, where the stakes include your life. You’ve got to be on your toes. Any slip-up could send you from kingpin to a footnote in crime history. So, if you thought managing a coffee shop was stressful, think again.
Look at me. My family is a bunch of crime-fighting vigilantes. It’s hard to believe, but it’s true. My dad, the adopted one, leads the charge. He’s the head honcho, the big cheese. Now, picture our holiday dinners. They are a wild mix of laughter, love, and strategic crime talk. While everyone else is enjoying turkey and stuffing, I’m stuck listening to my dad and brothers plotting ways to sabotage my plans. Yes, I’m the crime boss in the family. You’d think they’d be proud, but no, they are focused on stopping me from expanding my territory and taking down my rival crime boss.
Everything seems to kick off when the food is served. Tensions rise faster than the mashed potatoes disappear. My brothers pull out their maps and charts, discussing how to thwart my every move. They dissect every detail of my operations like it’s a school project. And they do not hold back. They remind me how I blew up that building during a hostile takeover of a neighborhood gang. That incident still haunts me. Sure, it was flashy, but it didn’t win me any favors at the family table.
The worst part? They all think they’re heroes. My brothers throw around words like “justice” and “responsibility.” Meanwhile, I’m just trying to build my empire. As they feign bravery, I sit there, the villain in my own home. I never thought I’d feel this way over holiday meals. Instead of carving turkey, we’re carving out plans to take me down. It's a comedy of family drama, a true circus. Who knew that being a crime boss would come with such a wild mix of loyalty and betrayal?
There's one brother in my life that I secretly admire. Well, to be honest, I don't even think of him as my brother. He was brought into the family after everyone believed I was dead. It's a twisted story, really. I've caught him stealing glances in my direction more than once. I can't tell if he looks at me with fear, thinking I might stab him again, or if he's eyeing me with desire, hoping to jump into my bed.
He's the kind of guy who is all prim and proper, the sort of person you'd expect to see in a suit, standing stiffly at a fancy event. Can you imagine? This uptight dude getting involved with someone like me—a crime lord with a trail of chaos behind me. It's downright hilarious to think about. Picture the shock on his face as he gets tangled in my world of crime and chaos. It would make for some wild family gatherings, let me tell you.
One moment, he’d be worrying about the right fork to use, and the next, he’d be involved in a heated discussion about my latest scheme. The thought of him swapping his polished dress shoes for something far more rugged and dangerous cracks me up. It’s like mixing oil and water or throwing a peacock into a den of wolves. The two of us couldn't be more different.
But then again, life is full of surprises, and who knows? Maybe this odd attraction is worth exploring.
My older brother acts like a mother hen, always clucking around me. He’s constantly trying to pull me into the family business, which he loves. I can practically hear him chirping about it. But honestly, no thanks! I'd much rather crack skulls and dive into the thrilling chaos of the local black market. Donning tights and cozying up to the cops? Not my style.
Cops are a slippery bunch. My brother knows this but he still pretends they’re all good guys. He worries too much, fretting about my choice of lifestyle. It’s like he thinks if I don’t follow his path, I’ll end up in handcuffs and a jail cell. He’s got this image of himself as the protective big brother who doesn’t want to be the one to send me to jail. But let’s be real; I don’t need saving.
I’d rather take my chances out there on the streets than stand around in an shadows solving mundane problems. Sure, the family business has its perks, and maybe I’d have a steady paycheck. But the excitement of life on the edge? That’s where the real fun is. I can’t help but roll my eyes when he goes on about responsibility and making a living. I guess he just wants what’s best for me, but I have my own plans.
So while he paces around like a worried hen, I’ll keep dreaming about my next adventure. Cracking skulls and running my own show sounds a lot more appealing than playing house with the cops. Being the dutiful sibling isn’t on my to-do list anytime soon. So, thanks but no thanks, brother; I’ll stick to my ways.
Then there’s Dad. What a character. He actually had me arrested once. I’m not sure if he was more mad at me or at the "brother", you know the one that keeps checking me out, who sprung me from jail.
Let’s rewind a bit. Dad abandoned me long ago, like an old toy he didn’t want anymore. After ditching me, he went out and replaced me with someone else. Yeah, that was fun. So, when I finally showed up, steaming mad, he acted like I was the crazy one. Can you blame me? I had every right to be furious. I felt like a lost puppy that just got tossed aside, and now he has the nerve to ask why I’m not happy to see him.
He keeps telling me to ditch the illegal trade I’ve gotten into. It’s almost laughable. He thinks what he offers is better. But let’s be real here. What Dad has for me just doesn’t compare. I let him know that the money I make in my line of work is way more tempting than anything he can serve up. It's like choosing between a gourmet meal and a sad-looking cheese sandwich. Guess which one I’d rather have? It’s a no-brainer. So, while he’s fuming about my choices, I’m out here making moves and living life on my own terms.
Then there’s my younger brother. He’s Dad’s biological son, while the rest of us are adopted. This youngest troublemaker is something else. He’s just as wild as I am, but somehow, Dad seems to dote on him more. It’s baffling. My older brother who even took him under his wing when Dad was thought to be gone for good. But here’s the kicker: the other middle child can’t stand this kid. He hates him, really. They’re always at each other’s throats, trading punches like it’s an Olympic sport.
It’s downright comical to watch. There they are, throwing fists while breakfast goes cold on the table. They’ve got scrambled eggs just waiting for them, yet they’d rather duke it out. And what’s my role in all of this chaos? I swoop in and snatch their eggs. The look on their faces is priceless. They sulk, staring at their empty plates as I enjoy their breakfast like a villain in a cartoon. Life in our house can be a real circus.

Mr Hollywood is set to judge this Brisbane charity gala
New Post has been published on https://qnews.com.au/mr-hollywood-is-set-to-judge-this-brisbane-charity-gala/
Mr Hollywood is set to judge this Brisbane charity gala
The Carers Foundation’s Unsung Heroes Gala is back for another year with Brisbane’s Mr Hollywood as the starring judge.
The night sees well-known names from the worlds of sports, politics, advocacy and more fundraising for a cause through song.
They will put on performances for those attending at the Fortitude Music Hall with local LGBTQIA+ legend Damien Anthony Avery-Rossi as a judge.
Damien, aka Mr Hollywood, told QNews why he wanted to get involved in the event.
“The Carers Foundation is one of my favourite charity organisations and such a vital one, so I am always ready to support it when I can,” he said.
“It took on even more meaning to me this year as I have spent most of 2024 in Los Angeles assisting with the daily care of my father who was in the final stages of his two-year battle with cancer, sadly passing away on April 21.”
“For the first time in my life, I myself became a carer and it was incredibly challenging. As Dad only required full-time care for a few months prior to his death, I wasn’t in the carer’s role for long but the experience certainly opened my eyes and made me appreciate how difficult it is and the toll it can take.”
The Carers Foundation has a range of services available to support the one million carers in Australia.
The Unsung Heroes event
The night sees stars, business people and advocates perform on stage in front of a live audience.
Damien says the night promises to be a blast.
“Last year’s show was really amazing. It’s a terrific event to round up a bunch of family and friends and reserve a table or two, glam up a bit and enjoy a wonderful dinner and a host of colourful performances.”
And what can we expect from his judging? Will he go easy on the likes of Olympian Libby Trickett and Jodie Shipway, Deputy Mayor of the City of Moreton Bay?
“Normally when I judge these sorts of talent competitions, I try to keep my comments light and humorous but in a positive way. Especially with an event like Unsung Heroes where it’s a feel-good evening in which we’re all participating to support a very positive cause and organisation.”
“I certainly don’t want to be responsible for someone ending up in tears. I have a lot of admiration for non-professional singers getting up on a stage in front of hundreds of people and performing…it can be quite intimidating.”

About “Mr Hollywood”
Damien has been in the entertainment industry for decades both behind and in front of the screen.
After moving to Australia from the United States his first job here was working on Muriel’s Wedding.
“I had come over in the early 90s from Hollywood as a Casting Director but as I only knew one person in the whole country it took a while to continue that over here so I just took any work I could get in film and television and the Muriel’s job, a Production Assistant role, was the first gig I got,” he says.
“I basically made coffee, did Toni Collette’s banking and chauffeured the cast around Coolangatta which is where all the Porpoise Spit scenes were filmed. It was a terrific experience but it was a total surprise that the film would end up being such an iconic one.”
He went on to work across a range of shows and also stepped in front of the camera.
“I first started TV presenting in around 2002 and have always enjoyed it, particularly the years I was with The Great South East from which I have many terrific memories. I was the first openly gay presenter in the show’s long history.”
But even though he is qualified to judge performances, he’s not keen to perform himself.
“Have you heard me sing?? My getting on that stage would be highly unlikely as I wouldn’t want to be responsible for a mass exodus even before the mains were served,” he said.
Although he has been spotted doing karaoke with Real Housewives of Melbourne star Simone Elliott to ABBA’s Dancing Queen.
Married life for Damien
It’s also been a celebratory few years for Damien after marrying his partner in 2022.
“Jason and I had been together for over 13 years before we got married and I didn’t think walking down the aisle would change much but I was mistaken,” he told us.
View this post on Instagram
A post shared by Damien Anthony Avery-Rossi (@mrhollywoodinoz)
“After our wedding, I just felt our bond got stronger as well as our commitment to each other. The relationship just feels permanent now and there’s a real sense of security that comes from that. I’ve had other relationships before I met Jason, but I only want to have one husband in my lifetime and I feel extremely fortunate to have found that person.”
If you do head to the Carers Foundation Gala event, he welcomes you to say hello and call him Damien or Mr Hollwyood.
“I love it when people come up and say “Hi, Mr Hollywood!” It’s a nice reminder of where I come from. After all, you can take the boy out of Tinseltown but you can’t take the Tinseltown out of the boy!”
You can catch Damien judging at the Carers Foundation Unsung Heroes Gala at the Fortitude Music Hall on Saturday 5 October. Details and tickets at: unsung24.raisely.com/

Wool& Summer Adventure Challenge - Adventure #2: Unplanned Detour, July 31, 2024
My husband and I planned to go to our local county fair after work. I have not been to a fair in years, so thought it would be a worthy adventure. I wore my Summer Midi with a cardigan, belt, and nice flats on the job, then put on a t-shirt over it and some sneakers for heading out to the fair - like day-to-night Barbie, but dressing down rather than glamming up.
Well, we got to the fairgrounds and it was super crowded, being opening day and all. Rather than fight the traffic and crowds, we took a detour and headed into the hills. First we went up to the Harris Hill overlook and enjoyed their new swing benches. Then, we went over the the Tanglewood Nature Center to visit their birds - they have new bobwhite quail - and to take a look in the ponds. We saw all sorts of wildlife - deer, rabbits, a frog, bluegills, a turtle, various songbirds, and tons of dragonflies. I wish I had had my good camera.
It was a hot day but the breeze on the hills was lovely. I wore my wool dress because I knew it could transition easily from my desk job to being more casually out in the heat and it was perfect for both settings. While we didn't get the county fair adventure we had planned, we had a lovely romantic evening enjoying quiet, wide open spaces and nature.
