Reading sim stories that depict declining or problematic relationships is interesting because at first I don't know what the author's intention is! I think this is because in a lot of films and movies, unhealthy relationships are often shown to be fine/just apart of the relationship. So, that causes me to internalize certain tropes and look past problematic aspects like being ignored/dealing with another person in the relationship/etc. 'cause true love conquers all, right? Meanwhile in sims stories, to see one character go through a lengthy relationship with another - only to say, "I don't love you anymore." or, "you took a lot from me" I am amazed.

In particular I'm referring to Mattia and Michaela by @joannebernice as well as Tasha and Cleo by @straightouttasimulation 🥲 I loved seeing how you all depict a nontraditional, struggling relationship.

When I was reading through Scooby Doo episode titles to get ideas for these Mystery Inc. covers, this one stood out as perfect for Daphne. This then informed her entire look, which is very much a call back to the glamorous dames and femme fatales that graced so many covers of 1940s detective pulp novels.

Alice: Hmm… You know, I like it! We can wear our most whimsical outfits that we would never risk going out in broad daylight. We'll bring a music, a juice keg, some pizzas... Mark: It's going to be a fiddling while Rome burns! There's an epidemic raging outside, and underground, a knot of sims in silly costumes are having a blast. Perhaps this has its own aesthetics... It'll be fun, unless Mr. Cahill and Erwin go nuts at the same time. Alice: Let's keep our fingers crossed that it doesn't happen. I've always dreamed of a post-apocalypse costume party! Mark: It's pretty weird to dream about something like that when you live in Strangerville.

Happy Simblr Gratitude Day!

I’ve been sending some individual Asks around for Simblr Gratitude Day, but I didn’t have enough time to write them out for everyone I wanted to. So, I’m making a quick post to shout out all of you amazing people that have brought me endless amounts of joy and inspiration.

I am actually fairly new to Simblr. My first post was only six months ago. From that very first post I was overwhelmed at the kindness and support of this community. We truly have a special little corner of the internet, and I'm so grateful to have found it. Being here has lit a spark in me that I didn't know still existed, and I'll never be able to adequately put into words how much this means to me.

And just when I thought it couldn't get better, @nexility-sims created the simblr writing group on discord. I was nervous about joining at first (I tend to just lurk and leave virtual groups because I'm actually incredibly shy and introverted), but I am SO glad I went for it and joined because I have NEVER been so excited about writing. Even after only two months, I have received so many insights and so much inspiration and connected with such wonderful people. For the first time in my life, I'm actually thinking of myself as a writer, and I cannot wait to see where my writing takes me in the coming year!

Thank you to @daniigh0ul and @armoricaroyalty for making this day happen! I will look forward to it every year from here on out!

simblr gratitude day part 1...

Simblr Gratitude Day

First of all I want to say a huge thank you to any and all of you who have read, liked or commented on my stories. I really appreciate any and all interaction with me and my stories. You keep me going when I feel like quitting.

At first I was uncomfortable with tagging individuals as I don't want anyone to feel left out or feel bad. I know all too well how that feels. Whether you're listed hear individually or not I want you know I appreciate seeing your sims on my dash are sorely missed when you're not there. ILY

@izayoichan - I love your story with and without pictures. Chris and Hayle have had my heart since the beginning. I love that when I have a problem I can come to you whether it be personal or simblr or writing related. Thank you for being a friend and sharing your sims with me being willing to read my stories and making suggestions that make them even better. And putting up with me when whine because your characters refuse to do what I want them to XD

@mahvaladara - for as much as a complain about Arlo and Fann I love their story. Thank you for sharing it with us and putting up with me when i disagree. Thank you for sharing your sims with me and being a part of my story world. You've only made them better!

I don't post much about my story on this account, so the characters I've chosen are probably more or less unknown (although I did show some of them already). The tarot cards are a glimpse into their possible future. But who knows what will happen - fortune telling isn't an exact science after all 😉
