The song “Letter”

Just one thing I want to say...

When Jungkook said the dumpling incident was more than what we’ve been told, that it was serious shit... let that be a reminder that it is possible that not everything we see or hear is the total truth. That everything they show us or tell is us is possibly NOT the whole story. 

It’s not that they are lying to us or giving us half-truths, on the contrary, they want us to know the catalyzing moments. But divulging the less-than-savory details, or details that are too personal, takes away from the point of sharing the moment. I hope that makes sense.

That being said, on the surface and in general, “Letter” is a song for Army. To Jimin, who wrote the song, his music is for the fans in general. He frames the song as one for the fans. We all know what he says is true. ALL of the music is for fans. That’s why they are doing this for a living. And this song is one he wanted to single out as special, and he wanted to offer it in a special way by having it “hidden” on the CD. 

Yet, many interpret the meaning of the song as something else, as is their right to. The song can have multiple meanings to different people. And that is exactly what music is for, to be interpreted in many, many ways that can resonate within us.

Those of us who acknowledge the special relationship he has with Jungkook interpret their relationship along the lines of: this is “possibly NOT the whole story.” 

And Jimin maybe acknowledges that by having Jungkook participate on the song, knowing that the song can now have another more specific and personal meaning applied to it. Jimin knows we know that. They both know we know that. Is there a “level” of this meaning that needs to be applied? No. We all are allowed to interpret it to the level we are each comfortable with.

The general fandom will see it as a special song even more so because another BTS member participated. And that’s it. Which is ok. 

But there are those who specifically do not want the song to be interpreted that way at all in any way shape or form and they spend an inordinate amount of time and energy trying to knock down those interpretations. Why do they spend so much negative energy on that? Who knows? 

Does Jimin need to come out and explicitly explain other meanings for the song? No, why would he? Why SHOULD he? He already said its a song for and to Army. We know where his heart and emotions were when he wrote it. Just because he doesn’t openly explain other meanings, does not mean there is only one interpretation of the song. IT IS ART!

Interpretation of art is the attribution of meaning to a work...giving meaning to a work. This process is subjective, meaning there is no right or wrong way to interpret the meaning of a work. We schlepp our own personal emotional baggage in everything we do and it is through this lens that we view and react to the world and that includes art. 

Where we often get hung up is whether we agree or disagree if the artist’s intention is relevant to how it is interpreted. 

Did Jimin ONLY mean for us to take his literal words as the meaning and then STOP, no other meanings apply? Or do we also include his literal action of having Jungkook, a specific member of BTS, participate on the track as a specific intention? 

If you don’t get it, that’s ok, it is just something that I’ve seen a lot of debate about and now I’ve said my piece.

Keep in mind that Jimin is an emotional animal. He lives, breathes, speaks, expresses himself with emotions. He is not a surface skimmer. He literally wrote songs about his literal emotions. 

For his sake, think deeper and be a good human.

You know how sometimes when you are lying in bed just about to fall asleep and you have an idea or train of thoughts that leads to clarity of mind?

Well, a couple of nights back I had one of those epiphanies. I hurried to jot it down so I can come back here and put them to paper, so to speak (before forgetting them the next morning, which I surely would have).

So what's it all about, you may ask.

Well, I guess the header is a pretty good tell.

You are me I am you.

Or more so, how, for some reason, we seem to forget just how amazingly romantic that notion is, and what it truly means to JM and JK.

I will tell you where this train of thoughts started.

It started here:

I was thinking about Jikook in Sapporo, and this conversation came to mind.

Talking about how alike they are (following them doing the robot man simultaneously and telling us they watch the same content).

Yes, they don't do the You are me I am you in this instance, but I couldn't help think about it. This would be their You are me I am you on a more "we're one and the same" on a day to day basis kind of way.

And they are pretty much one and the same. So many similarities.

Is there any surprise they just FIT one another? One might think they were actually made for each other.

Knowing each other through and through.

Knowing what the other thinks without words - a type of telepathy.

When it comes to You are me I am you, they made it their own. Something that symbolizes them and their relationship.

Came by @haedalkoo 's post just today, kismet I guess, explaining the translation of JK's Tweet:

They have used it so much since JM's Serendipity. Many times doing so playfully.

All while claiming it as their own.

And perhaps because of that, I feel so many are either unaware or perhaps have forgotten over time the true meaning of You are me I am you, the deep romantic sentiment attached to it, and just how amazingly romantic those two are by claiming it as their own.

So, where does "You are me I am you" even come from?

Seeing that there are quite a few new Army and Jikookers around, I guess another short history lesson is required here. The origin story so to speak.

The line/saying originates from a 2016 song "You are me I am you" by Zico.

There was talk about JK & JM using a reference to the song's MV wearing matching plasters during a Puma fansign in April 2016.

*Do I remind that this is way before JM's Serendipity came to pass?

JM saying he was given the band aid from JK (again, a reference to the song's MV).

What a coincidence...

I dare say this was not a coincidence, quite like JM tells us in Serendipity.

You know, the song that same exact line found it's way into....

Yes JM did not write the lyrics to Serendipity, but we have seen their writing process, we've heard from them and seen that the members have input and are consulted at times, especially when it's their solo songs. Remember JK's Begin? Such a personal song. So JK, right? Well, JK didn't write Begin. RM is credited though, just like he is for Serendipity. Does anyone doubt that JK had a input into the lyrics of Begin. I don't think so!!!

Serendipity is a love song.

One would say the ultimate love song.

Me being one of those.

Me also being one of those who say that JM took ownership over Serendipity making this his love ode to JK (and then came Letter...).

This was theirs.

And You are me I am you is theirs.

They even claimed copyright over it.

They were kidding.

Or were they?

Those two have been so friggin loud over the years with this.

JM and JK are the embodiment of You are me I am you. They took ownership over it and wore it ever so loud and proud.

They obviously had so much fun with it over the years.

And because they have been so loud about it and mostly in a playful manor, at times we forget the deep romantic meaning of it all.

But then you have those moments when it's clearly just for them, more intimate. It's quieter or softer or without realizing it's caught on camera, or embedded in their own lyrics with so much meaning or just so loud and emotional that it just hits you right in the face.

Those times when it's less about playfulness (you know, at times it can be romantic and playful too) and more about THEM.

The romantic undertone is just so so obvious.

This was done for no one but themselves!! Definitley not for us!!

Those moments where they remember where it came from and what it means to them.

The way JK's hand goes for JM's waist and then he moves to hold on so softly to JM's jacket.😭😭

The way the rest of the members move away, leaving them to themselves (a couple of them clearly thinking to themselves "get a bedroom").

They were both really caught up in the moment. And their embarrassment after it's over is a clear testimony to that.

I'm struggling with putting this into words... just how fucking romantic this was. Smiles on faces, teasing, flirting, giggling, and so damn romantic. And when you remember this comes on the coattail of TTU and the staging and lyrics change up...

I'm sorry. I'm just lost for words, hoping that you guys just see it, feel it. How can you not?

I can't end this without mentioning Like crazy as well.

JM may not have written Serendipity (although, again, I do believe You are me I am you has ALWAYS been theirs), but he certainly did write Like crazy.

Thinking again of how JM was struggling and what he was going through is heartbreaking. And JK's place in this song written by JM is so very loud. JM referring to another person that is with him is very loud. JM using the line "You are me I am you" in the song is very loud.

As for JK and his feelings for Like crazy, well I do think he has mixed feelings about that song. He loves loves loves SMF pt. 2. It's JM's catharsis song, his healing song, and JK is mad about it (not to mention the MV and just how damn sexy JM is there). But Like crazy, that one hits home for him. It's a reminder of hard times, emotional times, times that perhaps, just like JM tells us in the song, JM was hurting and wasn't allowing that other person with him, "the moon with you in its arms...forever you and I..." to save him:

JK was that bystander. Can you imagine that feeling of helpless, unable to pull JM out of the darkness?

And being reminded of that every time you hear the song.

It's not about not loving the song. It's not about not loving JM or supporting his art. It's about the emotional baggage that comes with the song.

Try and remember the times we got to hear JM's songs during JK's lives. The one song that JK put off (in a sense) listening to on camera was Like crazy. First time he played it in one of his lives was when JM was on the show JK was watching and JM sang it in English!! Next time he listened to it was months after the song was released and after AYS CT (what they call season 1, lol) was shot. And even then, when he played it he did the whole comical intro and dance.

How did I get here from You are me I am you?

Good question.

Oh yes! JM's Like crazy, using You are me I am you in the lyrics, it being such a personal song and one that hits hard for JK as well. The romantic undertone to You are me I am you. That one person that JM is with and doesn't want to wake from the dream he's in with that person by his side (awaken to the reality of the pandemic and his emotional struggles).

JM and JK have told us and shown us oh so many times they are "You are me I am you".

I’ve seen people focusing on Jimin and Jungkook possibly showering together, and while I did have that passing thought, I don’t care to make a post about it.

What I want to talk about, is how it wasn’t the shower topic that got my attention as a “couple” thing. Instead, it was how they made joint decisions on whether or not they’d eat late, as well as how they didn’t go to bed until both were ready.

Yes, one could argue they were hanging out and both got tired at the same time, but Jungkook was already tired. He left the pool first because he was ready to go relax. He told Jimin he didn’t want to eat, both because he “ate too much” but also because he was ready to relax. He even said, “Wait until after you shower to see if you’re still hungry.” Which Jimin decided he wasn’t, but the point is, they made joint decisions that entire time.

Jungkook was done with the pool, so they both got out. JK didn’t want to eat, so JM didn’t end up eating. They showered, then even though Jimin decided he was in fact too tired to eat, he still didn’t go up to bed. He plopped down right beside Jungkook, who was also tired yet didn’t go up to bed, and they sat watching JK’s dance footage and whatever else, until Jungkook decided he was officially tired-tired and ready to sleep. Then they both went up to bed, and talked or otherwise winded down for the remainder of the night in the same bed, before Jungkook moved to the extra.

That to me was the most JiminAndJungkook thing I feel like I’ve seen them do, in the way it’s been said to us over the years that when you see one you see the other. They gravitate toward one another so naturally, that I’m super curious if either of them noticed it in their earlier days? Because I feel like the people around them definitely did. Hell, watching their old content back, you see it on a certain level, but you’d think they’d outgrow it, you know?

Not outgrow their friendship, but the attachment they appear to have for each other. Their footage from back in the day feels like watching two people find their footing through a butterflies-in-my-stomach-puppy-love situation. Now, when they get this way, it feels like I’m intruding on their downtime as a couple.

Idk. Maybe I’m not explaining it well, but I liked that “Jikook moment” more than any else before it. They seemed so comfortable and relaxed, and their actions came across as very routine. They play around, shower, decide if they’re going to eat, cozy up and watch videos/work/talk, then go to bed. So normal. Also, so familiar to how Jimin describes what they do when JK woukd show up at his room be-it when they were at the dorm or years later in hotels.

Last little observation: them playing in the pool also makes me think about the hickey/bite story. They weren’t drinking, but between how playful they get when it’s just the two of them, as well as how rough they can be (mosquito net!)… it makes all the sense in the world how Jimin ended up with his mouth on Jungkook’s neck. They have zero normal-guys-who-are-friends boundaries, lol.

how long do you think Kevin took to grieve riko fully ? Did he stop grieving jm public or in front of the foxes because they couldn't understand it or

Oh. Oh I don't think Kevin ever got to fully grieve. I've probably talked about something similar before but no, I don't think so. Not in front of the foxes, anyway. I think there were glimpses, maybe, moments where he broke and couldn't keep it in for just a second or two at a time. But he'd hide it well until he was alone.

Then there's David and Kevin, back in an almost empty hotel bar, black suits on and several drinks deep, and Kevin's been silent for a couple of minutes.

"You can cry," David says, and Kevin just looks at him, breathing like it's the only thing worth focusing on, like if his mind slips for just a millisecond he'll self destruct. "I promise it won't make how he treated you suddenly okay."

Maybe David tells him a story about his parents death - how he struggled with his grief, grief that came in short and intense and incomprehensible bursts. Grief that didn't make sense. Grief that felt shameful, or guilt-filled, or grief that felt like it didn't deserve to be felt. Maybe Kevin doesn't say anything for a little while longer, or maybe he starts to tell a story. It's hard for David not to feel disgusted, knowing what he did to him, listening to a fond memory of two 10 year old boys who just wanted to be famous, as if that was all that Riko was. As if this one memory, these two or three memories, were who Riko really was, as if it was who he could've remained to be. But I think maybe David puts the stories he already knows aside to give Kevin the space to feel these confusing and guilty and shameful feelings of being nostalgic and wistful for the man who almost killed him.

I think Kevin shares his grief in secret for that one night, a closed casket freshly burned into his brain, a rest in peace winning over a rot in hell. Just for one day, at least.

Maybe he shares his grief with Bee - again, that horrible, conflicting feeling of I know how bad he was to me and I know how he treated me. But I miss who he used to be. And maybe I don't think he deserved to die.

But maybe even still, with David, with Bee, he holds himself back. He can't let himself grieve how he needs to grieve because he just can't. He can't let himself think, "I miss him," when he hadn't thought that for a very, very long time, and only feels it now in fleeting moments after his death. He can't let himself believe, "I'm sad that he's dead," when he silently wished it upon him every time his healed hand cramped or hurt, every time the remembered pain flooded his fingers when he moved a certain way.

Kevin's grief with Riko is complicated. That was his brother. His first friend. His first abuser, his worst abuser. That was the person who ruined his life, that was the person who pushed him to be better and better until better became best. That was the person who nearly killed him, the person who held his opinion with such high regard it was deadly. How do you grieve someone that you were scared of, when death makes you think of all the times he swore he was keeping you safe? Or at least, pretended he was. Or at least, did so for his own personal gain. How does he grieve someone who everyones sees as a monster, who he sees as a monster, but who smiled a pre-teen grin his way and said it's you and me against the world.

I don't think anyone would understand. Or, he thinks so, anyway. He doesn't think anyone will get it. He doesn't think it makes sense, or that it's okay, or that he's allowed to feel these conflicting feelings about him. I think Kevin grieves on his own, and that makes it worse, in some ways. It makes it a much longer process to work through. It makes it a long time until he is able to come to terms with it all.

Today’s delulu thought is that Standing Next to You has too many lyrical coincidences to not be about Jimin.

I mean we know it wasn’t written by Jung Kook but obviously the version he recorded was arranged with and for JK, and “leave your body golden” can’t be a coincidence right? Like it’s the whole ass album name, plus a word that carries connotations of JK himself, which the ppl who worked with him on Seven must have known.

So if that wasn’t a coincidence… then what about:

1. “How we left and right is something we control” — a callback to both Left and Right by CP feat JK, but also a nod to Butter, a massive BTS hit and a song that he performs alongside his boyfie bestie JM.

2. “When it’s deep like DNA, something they can’t take away” — a callback to another massive BTS hit, interesting. And *delulu warning* also reminds me of JM and JK’s extreme similarities that they themselves have referred to before?? They’re wired the same, they have the same sense of humor, they live and breathe for the same shit and even though they have some very key differences, they really do seem like twin flames (even if you just see it as platonic). They are similar in ways that seem braided into the fibers of their being. Like, in their DNA 🧬 some may say. *delulu warning #2* I’m also reminded of Jimin’s Letter lyrics: “After all this time has passed will we still be the same? Just like we were when we first met.”

Also, “something they can’t take away” is an interesting turn of phrase… more on that later.

3. Okay the real meaty part:

First off, again with the Letter lyrics mirrored here with the “test of time.” Then it’s got all this drama about being ripped apart and how it won’t happen and how they’ll be next to each other no matter what and that they have “something they can’t take away.”

Not only does all that line up with other Letter lyrics, but it is so goddamn dramatic and for what?

Be for real, what straight couple in this day and age would have this much working against them?? The only possible explanations are: 1) within the fantasy world of a song I suppose this could be some sort of Romeo and Juliet/West Side Story motif, and to be fair the music video did have a kind of rival gang/crime family look to it? Sort of? With the men fighting below the stage? Idk. Or it could be 2) the fact that idols do in fact often have to hide even their straight relationships, which is wild to me. But I know it’s a thing, so. I suppose there’s that. JK doesn’t seem the type though honestly. I think he’d be even more open about it than V.

On the other hand, the lyrics seem SO fit for a couple who are a) queer, b) closeted, c) currently in/about to be in a legislatively homophobic military and country (am I saying that right? Lol) and d) internationally famous pop idols in the SAME BAND who are both widely regarded as heterosexual sex symbols and would be shunned by many people in their homeland AND internationally if their queerness were to be revealed, much less if they were truly an item and THAT news broke.

Whew. That was a lot but like… that would be a real example of a relationship that would be VERY threatened by outside forces plotting against them and trying to separate them. Not JK and a hot blonde model, not him and a Korean actress, not basically any other scenario but a queer relationship.

Idk I know he didn’t write it but like ??? What the hell is that theme? I’m dying to get inside the mind of the people who DID write it, because are they or are they jikookers at this point like?!

4. Just for fun I’ll also point out the “leave your body golden like the sun and moon” 😏 like. Okay. At this point the songwriters are watching Jikook compilations, drooling over @slaaverin edits like convince me they’re not. CONVINCE ME.

5. “Deeper than the rain”?! “The pain”?! Alright I’m not even serious at this point but ??? Rainy day fight 🌧️?!?! 🤣🤣

6. “Standing next to you” oh you mean like… for 18 months? In a companion enlistment program? Like that?

Alright alright I’m done but you get my point. What even is this song if not an anthem of jikookery?! It’s more on-the-nose than Letter, more sneaky than Still With You. It wasn’t written by JK but at this point I’m calling that the songwriters are as delulu as me.

Fandom grandma tales: how I survived canon ruining two of the ships I liked.

(Written after a discussion with some of my TROP fan pals about how canon can break your heart re: shipping, and how fandom manages. There are spoilers here for the entire run of Babylon 5, and for one story JMS wrote after it. yes, that story. sorry.)

Babylon 5 was a sci-fi space opera show that ran from 1993 to 1998. It is sci-fi of the era of 22-episode seasons, of huge ensemble casts with characters who get their own B- and C-plots, with an effects and casting budget that doesn’t always match its ambition, and - something it was quite pioneering in, at the time - grand pre-planned story arcs. 

It’s the first fandom that I was involved with in internet spaces as it was running, or at least when its final season was (there’s Discourse and drama from earlier years that I missed). Its showrunner, J. Michael Straczynski - ‘JMS’ - was very active in (non-fanfic) fan community spaces, and you always knew exactly what he was thinking about things because he was part of the discussion around them. There was also fanfic, which he didn’t stop but didn’t go near on the grounds of legal liability for story ideas. 

Most of the fanfic in the early days as the show was airing was focused around two big ships, of which one was canon endgame (Delenn/Sheridan) and one was canon all-ends-in-despair (Marcus/Ivanova). I, as a teenager discovering a developing online fandom for the first time with all the overwhelm and excitement that causes (ask me anything about what reading fic was like before the days of tags/ratings/warnings!) got into Marcus/Ivanova and also into one of the minor ships, Delenn/Lennier.

Delenn/Lennier was never, ever going to happen in canon. This is obvious; it clashes with Delenn/Sheridan which was JMS’s baby darling OTP, the show’s big love story. Delenn is married for the later part of the show. Lennier is her diplomatic aide, is absolutely devoted to her, and they have a very intense mentor/student relationship, which it seems is kind of standard in their culture (when Delenn’s own mentor died she went briefly insane with grief and started a genocidal war over it) but is still Very Intense. He is canonically in love with her, but that’s as far as the explicit canon statements go.

However. HowEVER. Canon also gives us, for that relationship, some wonderful ship fuel. Lennier knows about every bad thing Delenn has done, including all the stuff she doesn’t/can’t tell her husband. He’s her link to her previous world and culture and stands by her even when they kick her out. She says at one point, “without him, I would stumble and fall and never get up again.” 

And then… we had Season 5, the final season.

Season 5, for various complicated production reasons, was operating a little outside of pre-planned story arcs and in this season the Delenn/Lennier stuff ramped up about three gears in one go. It was still very obviously never, ever going to be canon, and was almost certainly not intended by the creator (who wrote most of the episodes himself) to look like there was even anything there. At this point Delenn is married; any relationship with her aide would not only be going against the show’s OTP, but going against it in the sense where she’s cheating on her husband, and there is Just No Way JMS would have gone there. And yet! Season 5 gave us:

A scene where Lennier says he can’t stay, it’s too painful to be around her now she’s married, and she’s devastated and has the following conversation with her husband about it:

S: I got your message about Lennier. Is there anything I can do?

D [snapping]: Almost certainly not.

S: Is it because of me?

D: In part, I think so.

S: Yeah, I was afraid of that. Well, as we say back on Earth, three’s a crowd.

D: On Minbar, three is sacred.

S [slightly uncomfortable laugh]: Well, I don’t think I’m ready to handle that one, Delenn.

Delenn then calling Lennier back to the station to do some secret mission thing for her, which involves her sneaking out of her bed while her husband sleeps to meet Lennier in a darkened alley behind a bar, where she tenderly strokes his face and they have a whole conversation about whether her husband understands her or not.

A scene where Lennier comes back from his secret mission to meet both Delenn and Sheridan, Delenn goes to greet him with a hug, and Lennier does this very pointed step back and nod in the direction of her husband, and she pulls back and just sort of pats him on the arms instead. 

I MEAN.

But, the issue here is not what fans did about it but what canon did about it. Canon did the canon equivalent of dragging that ship outside and shooting it in the head. 

In the final few episodes of the entire series, Lennier tries to kill Sheridan, runs away in shame, and then someone finds his diary in which he’d been writing for ages about what a bad decision he thought Delenn had made and how her whole marriage was an awful idea. Even to this day, it’s fun/awful watching people go through a first-time watch when they get to season 5 and hit that. ‘Character assassination in the form of a diary’ was a whole thing for a while. It’s been 20+ years and the actor who played Lennier is stilll mad about it (not because of shippy stuff, but because he - correctly! - thinks Lennier absolutely would not have done that). 

What *fandom* did, on the other hand, was Fixed The Problem.

Delenn/Lennier was not at all a big ship when the series was airing, and for a few years after. Then the fandom dynamics started to change. With less pressure on what canon was going to do, it felt like fandom had more space to play around with things it didn’t do. Fanfic got less interested in trying to fit within the overall story being told and started spinning off in all its own directions. And *this* ship started getting bigger and bigger. People did really interesting things with it, canon divergence went in all directions, everyone wrote a fix-it story of some variety, some authors did a great series of connected stories based on an idea that Minbari have three genders, the quality of the writing has been brilliant. And I think without that absolute whiplash feeling of what happened in canon, there would never have been this feeling of “well I’m not having THAT” which led to all this.

We did not need canon! Canon had done its thing. And canon had broken our hearts enough ways with many of the other stories it told (entirely on purpose) and we weren’t just going to sit back and let it ruin us forever.

By comparison, the other ship I was into was Marcus/Ivanova. This is entirely doomed. Susan Ivanova’s love life is just perpetually doomed. The first partner of hers we meet is an ex who’s interested in getting back together, but then it turns out he’s just using her to infiltrate the station for the fascist terrorist group he’s secretly joined. Then she falls for an archrival of hers, Talia, who works for Psi Corps, the organisation she loathes most of all things - but it’s okay because it turns out Talia is starting to question them too! Maybe these crazy kids can make it work! They have one night together and then OOPS turns out Talia was being secretly controlled by a sleeper personality implanted in her by Psi Corps the whole time. Ivanova’s love life is doomed. 

So for two seasons, she has this sort-of-flirty, sort-of-bickery, sort-of-friendship going with Marcus, who is on the surface of it very much “why not fall in love at first sight like a true romantic, YOLO!” but it turns out is actually deeply messed up himself and full of survivor’s guilt and pain and, you get the clear impression, would have died of shock if she’d actually called his bluff on the OTT flirting and said “yeah, let’s go for it”. And then he sacrifices himself to save her life. It is a very tragic ending, it is absolutely the way he would have wanted to go, she wakes up both furious and absolutely distraught, says that the last thing she heard was him saying “I love you”, says she wishes she’d at least slept with him once, and says that in a way all love is unrequited. PAIN. 

So, lots of fix-it fanfic, lots of ‘Marcus comes back to life’, lots of canon divergence AUs where he doesn’t die and they live happily ever after and both get over their huge levels of unresolved pain. Pretty standard for that kind of pairing. And as a pairing it doesn’t get in the way of any big canon pairings, it doesn’t imply anything icky like mentor/student power imbalances or adultery. And JMS clearly quite liked it. So that’s better, right?

NO. It was WORSE.

JMS wrote an Marcus/Ivanova story himself, published in one of the sci-fi magazines, to try to give them a happy ending. This happy ending involves Marcus, many many years in the future, waking up from the cryogenic suspension he’s in (it’s sci-fi, keep up, keep up). Ivanova is long dead, but he isn’t about to let this get in the way, so what he does is to *create a new Ivanova* by getting some kind of DNA + computerised memory/personality bank thing, finding a doctor who will clone her, putting himself back into animated sleep until the clone reaches the age Ivanova was when she died, then - THEN, I’M STILL GOING - takes her to a distant planet where, with her memories wiped and their spaceship having deliberately been crashed BY HIM so there’s no way back, they live out their lives in peace.

WHAT.

That pairing still does okay in fandom but it’s not really taken on a post-show world of headcanons and riffing on other people’s ideas and tropes in the way that Delenn/Lennier has (and we all just pretend that story never existed). 

So! This has been my experiences in the field of What We Do When The Show Has Thoughts On That Non-Endgame Ship We’re Into. Fandom manages. Fandom will see you through. And in the words of Susan Ivanova:

Babylon Five was the last of the Babylon stations; there would never be another. It changed the future, and it changed us. It taught us that we have to create the future, or others will do it for us. It showed us that we have to care for one another, for if we don’t, who will? And that true strength sometimes comes from the most unlikely places. Mostly though, I think it gave us hope that there can always be new beginnings - even for people like us.

“Company content” “Mediaplay” “fan service” if these words do not leave your mouth or a taekookers you’ll have a stroke. Like clockwork your cult is having a stroke after jimin and jungkook videos are being released. Jimin being caught in the fire and constant shading of jungkook. Calling him a liar, an actor and spineless al just to explain why jimin and jungkook are close. Do you never get tired? Taehyung and jungkook made sure to tell you tae-kook was never real and would never be. What more do you want.

Actually I challenge you, in simple words explain why taehyung said get out of your imagination in a hostile tone to that taekooker because not only did koreans not into kpop and army translators tell you what he meant and who it was directed to but also Korean taekookers . So please explain and don’t use the words mediaplay, fanservice and company content.

Also explain why jungkook said he only saw jimin and jhope on his break and not anyone else, ofcourse don’t use the words fan service, company content and mediaplay.

My favourite explain why the ITS conversation isn’t real, don’t say mediaplay, company content and fanservice because those words only benefit your narrative and have no semblance in real life. Taehyungs mental health was messed up & he admitted to it, jungkook pointed it out and so did 90% of the fandom. Jungkook said “speak to someone” and not himself because they couldn’t even sit down and have a heart to heart. And taehyung literally declined to have a drink with him. You’ve turned these boys lives into a lie so that you could force a reality that isn’t true onto them. For all you know jennie was probably the reason he became a little bit happier.

Also explain why taehyung never visited jungkook on his birthday in 2022, remember don’t use those words.

I’m asking this because everyone knows that taekookers are the only ones to ever use that narrative. In the real world that’s not the case and you know it. Hence why jennie and taehyungs friends are so intertwined and why taehyung took those photos outside her house and was with her at those two concerts. because taehyung and jungkook have never been in a relationship. You’re actions are deplorable and embarrassing at best.

Alright, I’ll give you one win… and it’s that of having successfully baited me with ignorance and stupidity. Here.. have a medal 🥇.

Company content, fanservice, mediaplay: Why is talking about company content, fanservice and mediaplay such a big deal to you? I mean.. I know why... you want to be able to think that whatever you have made yourself believe about Jm and Jk is their actual love story and it being part of a company content will taint that. See, the very obvious mistake you are making (maybe it’s ignorance, maybe it’s naivety.. I don’t actually care) is not understanding what we are looking at. We are looking at company content for the most part. BTS is part of a company, they make money of us, because they are part of a company. Do you really think you are watching their normal everyday lives without intervening or guidance from managers, public relations, stylists… all sorts of creative teams. Like, who do you think edits their videos? Who do you think come up with ideas for Run and BV? Have you not watched their reaction videos? It is actually insane and very uneducated to say there is no company content anon…. or, does that only apply when it comes to Jkk? The same goes for fanservice. Everyone who’s a bit invested in K-pop knows that thats a thing that is widely discussed and actually pretty common. I think it’s been used in conversation wrongly for the most part, but it’s certainly a thing. Every member does it, a lot of members engage in it together. So why can’t I mention it? Or again… is this only a problem when it comes to Jkk? Mediaplay.. again… very common! I suppose this is only an issue for you because it’s got to do with Tae and Jennie.. but mediaplay does happen anon… I think we can all say that mediaplay has been strong during the recent Hybe/Ador issues. So, why can’t I talk about those things when they are all pretty common in fandoms worldwide. Maybe, you aren’t familiar with them.. I don’t really care about that, but you are doing yourself a disservice by not looking into it more. You can’t actually understand BTS and the members if you don’t factor in company content, fanservice, and mediaplay. Also, fanservice, company content, and mediaplay aren’t Tkk or BTS specific terms.. they belong in the greater realm of music industry terminology.

Now BTS is more than the combination of those things. Their friendships are real, the reactions they have when interacting are real (though perhaps sometimes enlarged… for entertainment value yes). Their lives fall in a gray area for me, because it is mostly real, but at the same time it’s very much intended for fandom and all members will have in mind that there’s limits to what they can do and say. When I talk about company content and fanservice I don’t mean that their reactions or relationships are fake (I am actually a very strong believer in BTS being real brother-friends-bro types), what I mean is that the company is very much the one who decides what we get to see (by editing choices). You are an idiot if you do not understand that. Mediaplay is done to get across a certain narrative. Sure it’s not great, because it’s manipulation.. but it’s a thing.. deal with it.

You will not have caught me talking badly about either Jm or Jk once. I simply haven’t. I can’t help if it doesn’t fit your idea of Tkkrs. But I am a hundred percent sure that you won’t be able to find a bad word about them on my blog. I've constantly talked about how I feel Jk and Jm's friendship is real and deep. That does not exclude them from being in company content and from doing fanservice though.

"Get out of your imagination": It’s clear you are stuck in Jkk think (what else is new these days). If you had actually taken time to go to neutral spaces to understand the ‘get out of your imagination’ comment, you would know that there is actually a lot of debate on what he meant. I’m sure you will have found some k-army say he meant to debunk Tkk, but K army aren’t unbiased. There’s also been plenty of k army who said the comment was meant to say the commenter shouldn’t look at Jk’s pics before she went to sleep… very much in line with Tae kicking out someone with the handle of ‘jungkook’s wife’ (was it that?… something similar… I’m tired) during a game. Very much in line with Tae friendzoning army. Ofcourse you go along with what your side has been spreading. This suits your narrative best. People hate Tkkrs. Ofcourse a huge portion of non-tkk army will tag along and say Tae debunked Tkk. IT'S WHAT THEY WANT it to be, but it is not what it actually was. You can see the total disregard for reality even this day anon... the many MANY people who actually think there's two people on that bed in the teaser for the travel show is insane! Reality is actually right in front of us, but all of you don't care and parrot after each other without having an inch of rational thought in your minds. But you are wrong in your understanding.. not that you’re gonna believe me now.. all of us know you don’t actually want to understand.

Jk saying he only saw Jm and Hobi: Why did Jk say he only saw Jm and Hobi? Well, probably because that’s the truth? Not sure what the issue is here. Considering your side is hung up on Jm having been too busy with his album to hang out with Jk.. I doubt this is a great hill to die on.

The ITS Talk: So the whole ITS conversation can’t be talked about while leaving out company involvement.. you can’t either if you were to go indepth. The very obvious thing being that Jk was asked about this during an interview they mixed throughout their actual talk. That is the company involvement as well as the choice to make this conversation and the way it’s been edited public content. When you look at the conversation Tae and Jk actually had (without the Jk interview), they talk about having been busy, the way they were as trainees, Tae’s issues a bit.. and that’s it. At no point do they hash out the ‘awkward part of their friendship’. I have talked about this plenty… and it’s elaborate so maybe just look it up in my blog. But also.. yes, it’s orchestrated. The combination of Jk talking and Tae and Jk's moment, the decision to air this, but mostly... the way it was portrayed does not add up to what Jk and Tae's interactions were actualy like. See, you have no reason to look further than what you are seeing. In fact, Tae and Jk having been awkward better suits your thoughts than the opposite would. You haven't actually looked at the way Tae and Jk were interacting all those years.. you just hear 'awkward' from every Jkkr you see and so you believe that's wat it was.. because you want to. Taekookers however have seen that things don't add up. We are not delusional about that, you too will be able to see it if you were to look further.

Jk and birthdays: Jk doesn't care about his birthday... the man has told you so.. move on. Jm is the person to be very active when it comes to visit his members on important days. He does not actually only do this for Jk. Jk didn't celebrate his birthday, the man was in pyjamas on his live for crying out loud. If Tae had something else that day while knowing Jk doesn't care to celebrate his birthday (and maybe they did.. but just on another day... who knows) then they would have used something called "communicaton" and probably Jk had no problem with him not being there. All of you have decided what dates and holidays matter to them... it's not as if you actually know.

Taennie: Holy crap anon... you think Tae and Jennie attending the same concert but sitting way apart is them going there together? Poor you! You know who lives in the same area as Jennie and who actually left at the same time as Tae? Yoongi!

As you're clearly up to date with what daeun posts I'd love you to prove me how is she posting from his home/kitchen yet their kitchen counters are on opp sides. 1st daeun's story from her kitchen, 2nd is RM's kitchen from his vlog which is similar to daeun's story (so by your logic they're also dating), 3rd is jm's kitchen and his kitchen counter is exactly attached to the opposite wall than daeun. so go ahead and explain cause you seem to be good at playing matching matching.

P.S. i have 0 problems with whoever jm is dating as I'm literally no one to question that but I'd not let y'all insert him everywhere to link him with someone so that you can feel better about your ship.

WHO JM

This is going to be a bit of a ramble of thoughts on my part. It took me around 24 hrs. to take it all in.

Before I start talking about everything, I do want to thank my good friends, you know who you are, with which we had these discussions and back and forth trying to figure it out. Said it once and will say it again: Love you guys!!!

And on that note, let's get to it.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around everything we got with Who, not to mention the whole Muse concept, the configuration of the album, the order of the songs.

Unlike Face this is less of a autobiographical album. This is more about a concept. We have the connecting thread from Face to Muse through Rebirth (Oh, I'm gonna talk about that song for sure). Then we go into Interlude: Showtime, leading into SGMB and then Slow dance, Be mine, Who and Closer than this in that order. Interlude showtime being the switch from personal (ME) to showtime/performance (US) perhaps. A show themed around love. And an interesting thing happens when you look at the placement of the songs. First of all, Who, the only song JM isn't credited for writing, is last. Then, and this to me is the interesting part of it, the songs go from SGMB having that love, being sure of it, wanting even to help others find it as the first song you hear all the way back to searching for that unattainable love (Who). Starting the story from the end, when love is found, rather than from the beginning when love is being searched for. Starting from the happy ending. And if you do want to link it to his own story (not sure it is, but for funsies) then it's basically going back chronologically. SGMB is the now JM, the happy one who found love, while Who is the JM who didn't even know what he was looking for, or more so Who he was looking for. And if we are already going in that direction than basically going full circle with Face in the sense of Face being in chronological order of things and Muse mirroring it in the sense of going present to past rather than past to present (yes, I definitley did not major in arts and it shows, lol).

Let's talk about Who now.

First thing first, once again, and thank you for that amazing post, I'm going to link to @andy-wm's post right here. Because basically it says most of what I wanted to convey, and as usual, written so so well.

You would think this is all about a guy looking for a girl, right?

NOT.

More so a guy looking for love, thinking that it's in a girl's image. "HER". @andy-wm explained it beautifully. I am going to emphasise a couple of points and/or add to them.

No. It's not just you. Although I do admit, it took me several reads and re-reads to have that eureka moment. When you take in the full picture. It's there.

JM is looking for someone. In his head he thinks it's meant to be a girl. That's what society has told him. That's what is expected of him. That's what makes sense to him. Again, in his head.

And yet, his heart, it's still searching.

And he continues to search but he isn't finding 'her'.

First the use of "think" again. The mind thinking versus the heart finding.

And pay attention to the lyrics: "If every day I think about her..."

Not "Every day I think about her..."

The way I see it, this is again about challenging society's expectations of him. If he's doing it right, if he's thinking about finding 'her' every day of his life, then why hasn't he found her? And the emphasis is on the question why, repeated multiple times.

He's asking why not how. And why do I think that means something?

Think about it for a second.

If he's looking for her every day, thinking about her all the time, wouldn't the question be "how is it that I haven't I found her?" But by asking "why haven't I found her", it feels more so like "am I doing something wrong here? Why isn't this working?" Perhaps because the Who he's looking for, the Who his heart is looking for, is not a "her"?

And this kind of disconnect between what his mind thinks he is looking for - "her", and what his heart is looking for "who", continues throughout the song.

Another thing I noticed, and I don't know if it means anything, is the repeat of the number five in the song.

That second one hit me the first time I heard the song. Why? Why count to five? So random. And yes, I know it could mean absolutely nothing, and yet, it is curious why we get these two fives.

So I went looking what the number five could mean, cause we know numbers do mean something to them.

On my search I found this:

The name of that piece of that famous piece of art: "Sun, Moon and Five Peaks".

And this:

The sun and moon are incarnations of yin and yang and symbols of brightness. The five peaks represent the center of the Earth and correspond to the sky and the seat of the king, who is the Son of Heaven. The number five is significant, as it is the midpoint of the decimal system.

Another coincidence?

Then there is what the number 5 symbolises spiritually (not specific to Korean culture):

Was this on purpose? This is one of those things I really don't know. And yet...

But again, we have to remember that this is the only song on JM's album that he isn't credited for being part of the lyrics writing.

And yet, we know that he did sit with John Belian telling him what the story was he wanted him to tell.

We don't know just how much of it is JM and what he wanted to convey, at least with the lyrics. We don't know just how much say JM had in the direction the MV went in, but it does feel like at least some of these things we are seeing are not pure coincidence and are intentional, for example the next thing I want to talk about.

Let's talk about the falling billboard screen for a sec.

The timing of it falling, the WHO without the question mark, the why...

JM is singing, dancing, the storm is brewing, wind blowing, he sings about "her" and then asks: "who is my heart waiting for?"

The dancers split up, and he starts walking towards us and this falls from the sky:

"Who is my heart waiting for?"

It has a blue frame that breaks apart (perhaps symbolising how this love is framed differently or that the barrier that was there between them now broke - yes, pure drivel on my part, but let me have this, I'm really enjoying it, lol).

This is who, is what the screen is screaming out!!!

"keep going" it tells him, as he's walking in it's direction.

But the screen, it's facing us. We can see it, but he can't see it yet.

He is walking in it's direction but still oblivious to what it's showing him.

Another thing I noticed there is that the screen falls from the sky but doesn't collapse or break or topple over. It stands there, strong and stable. Just as strong and stable that love is. The Real love he talks about in Rebirth. And then we cut to the next scene. We don't see what happens when JM comes closer in. Does he see it? Does he see Who?

This one I noticed myself - the colours of that fire stood out to me, seeing as they were different from other fires on screen.

The Yellow purple that we also got in the poster question mark.

The way the signs are basically around him (the fire, the screen), but he passed them by unnoticed, perhaps because of how he perceives his love is meant to look like. It's a she, not a he, and even if it is on fire or on a neon sign, something he should be noticing, he just doesn't.

The second is this:

I have seen some that noticed this and I admit, it took me a very long time to see the face (some saw a face in smoke in the teaser as well), but I have to admit, it does look like a face. Could it be JK? Idk. Is this intentional? Well, it doesn't look like the actual smoke, it does look like a projection or add-on, so... I guess this one I'm going to leave as a question mark. A possibility.

But this one, I'm feeling the need to go back to this one because this is just WOW...

Hi Rosie! How are you? I just wanted to share. Apparently, a popular jikook fanfic writer's account was hacked on ao3 by a member of the cult. Do you know what they did? Changed JM's name on the fic to Tae's. Not just one fic, a couple. Plus, unregistered users from the cult left hateful comments on the author's stories.

I know they're fucking insane and disconnected from real life. But this? These people are gone. Nobody can ever convince them. They're so desperate because what they want and fantasize about is not translating irl, that even in the world of fiction, they go and separate Jikook in fucking ao3 fics and make them about tkk? Man, the past year and a half pushed them to the brink. They know and see how different Jimin and Jungkook are compared to the lies and manipulations they were fed.

I'm scared of what they'll do once Jikook are back, especially how they're serving together in a camp that's higher-risk and more isolated. In Psychology, a shared experience like that usually forms an even deeper level of bond.

It's honestly scary how far gone they are. I can't believe someone would fucking do this. Side note, there was another person who asked another Jikook author a couple of months ago if they could use their story and change it into a tkk one (author was not happy, but declined in a civil manner). I was already weired out by that, like why make a jikook story to a tkk one, just by changing names? Why not write one yourself? Just when I thought I'd seen it all.

Tkkrs are the very examples of JOBLESS. Because wdym they just hack into someone's ao3 account and change the names???? like who has so much time in this world

I have to admit that when I read both ASKs, I actually laughed. That was my first reaction, and then I facepalmed myself because just when you think that subgroup couldn’t sink any lower, they go and prove you wrong. At this rate, I think they’re already making deals with the devil.

It’s just incredibly pathetic, embarrassing, and stupid. And any other synonym you can think of for all those words.

Anon 1, I get your worry about how they’ll react or behave once Jimin and Jungkook are discharged from the army, and Tae as well, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there, even though things aren’t looking great.

The other thing I take from this is that they can see that Jikook is different, even in fiction, and they want that for their ship. It’s sad, pathetic, ironic, and therefore funny all at once. I genuinely wonder if they realise that by doing things like this, they’re just validating Jikook and Jikookers in every way. It’s as if they’re confirming they want what Jikook has for their own ship and what Jikookers have as fans. Even imagination.

The front door opens and slams closed with so much you fear for the picture that line that particular wall. It's startles you but you know it can only be one person.

At least you hope it is.

"Jimin? Honey?" You don't hear an answer, growing worried because shit! What if it's not him? You probably shouldn't give your location to the-

You breath out in relief, trying to calm your beating heart. The squeaking of the wooden can be heard underneath his feet as you know he's headed to the living room. In return, confuses you since he always finds you first.

Something's wrong.

"Petal?" You don't let any of that deter you, wiping your hands on the towel hanging from the oven and turning down the fire to let the food simmer. It doesn't take long for you to find him in the living room, sat on the couch with his head.

"Petal? What's wrong?" You see the bags under his eyes. You've notice he's been overworking himself for the dance studio and coming home late from time to time. Your lips upturn into a frown at the way his body is visibly tired. "Jimin. What's-"

"Nothing! Jesus... C-Can you just give me a second?" The moment those words leave his mouth, he instantly regrets it. Your head cocked to the side in a 'what the fuck' notion, face scrunched in irritation. "Honey..."

No. He doesn't get to call you that. He's angry but he's most definitely not mad at you. He shouldn’t have since you didn’t have anything to do with it. It’s not your fault Taemin quit. Or the fact the parents were getting on the instructors' cases about who will have the lead this year for the Nutcracker showcase. In all honesty, Jimin hates this time of year. It brings out the worst in people. The only good thing is the two and a half weeks he gets to spend with you uninterrupted.

And, of course, seeing his students graduate from his class too but spending time with you takes the cake.

When he peeks over at you, he frowns when your face doesn't show any emotion. Fuck, he didn't mean it.

"Shit! I'm sorry..."

"What the hell?"

"I-I'm sorry?" It comes out more like a question as Jimin reaches for you to make sure you don't scooch away from him. "I'm just exhausted and angry and-."

"I know, I know... I just-" Jimin stops because he knows you don't want to hear excuses but he hopes you forgive him. "There's so much going on at the studio that I feel I'm being stretched every which way."

“What's on your mind?”

“Nothing and everything?” He whispers, closing his eyes to simply feel. "I don't know if I want to keep doing this."

"Your work?"

He nods, "It’s just with the kids' showcase coming up and the parents being pushier than usually. It's getting to breaking point." Jimin grabs your hand to play with your fingers. "And with Taemin quitting on us was the last thing we needed so now we have to find another instructor."

"Seems everything is hectic right now."

"It is..." Jimin groans and you can't help but feel bad. He needs a break. You can't help but want to take care of him like you promised him you would. You always know what to get him to calm down, regardless of why he's riled up. "I don't know what to do."

"Well, I can't tell you because I don't know anything about what you did I can tell you that you got this." Jimin rolls his eyes but the smile on his face says otherwise. “But, if you don't have to talk about it more you don't have to. You know I'm here whenever you want to, Petal.”

“I know.” He pouts, peeking through one of his eyes to get a glimpse of your reaction and blushing when he see you smirking back. “T-Thank you.”

"You're such a cutie." You mushed together like this for a couple more minutes and cuddling him until he doesn't want to anymore. “Anyway, it's what I'm here for.”

He bites his lip before glancing back at the kitchen to see the pot on the stove. "What were you doing?"

"Well I was cooking you dinner but then you started yelling at me. I'm hurt."

"I said I was sorry," Jimin whines while bowing his head and groaning.

"Uh huh."

He calls your name but you can't help but chuckle.

"It's fine baby." You kiss his forehead before nipping at his earlobe. "But, next time you snap at me like that you're going to be punished."

Jimin's eyes widen. He said he was sorry! How much more does he need to do for you to forgive him?

“Nope, you’re not getting out of this by being cute, Petal.” You grab him by the hand to pull him into the kitchen. Your heart sings at how sweet your baby boy is. “Anyway, c’mon. I made your favorite.”

“Kimchi Jjigae?”

[ 08:05pm | Okay, I should be home in a little bit. Just closing up.

Jimin checks the time on his watch and noting it's almost nine. He hates that he sent most of everyone home (with the exception of Hoseok and Jungkook). It simply meant the three of them had to finish locking up.

"Jimin!" Hoseok runs up to him, his smile bright as ever as he hands him his checklist. "Anything needs to be done? I'm done with mine."

"No. If you want to head out you can." Jimin shrugs while looking over his own. "I can lock up."

He looks at the rest of the closing list:

☑ Making sure his rooms are cleaned and tidy. ☑ Things that were left behind by the kids are put in the lost and found for the next day. ▫ Relieving the Janitor once he's done cleaning the dance floors. ▫ Lastly, shutting off unimportant lights, locking up.

It’s not that bad. He thinks he can manage.

“It’s okay! I just have to see the janitor out and then I’ll be heading home.”

“Are you sure? We can stay and help.”

“You know it’s not a bother.”

“I’m sure. Go home guys.” Jimin starts to shoo them out of the door. “I’ll be fine. I told he-”

“Yeah, yeah. Give her a hug and tell her I miss her cooking.” Hoseok jokes, grabbing Jungkook by the arm to make him leave as well. “We need to get together again!”

“Okay, okay! I’ll see you guys later.” Jimin chuckles before heading to the back to tell the janitor to leave. Lights off, doors locked and the alarm set, Jimin rushes out to his car to get ready to leave. Of course traffic stops him from getting home at his normal time, telling Siri to dial your number and hearing it ring twice before you answer. Pulling onto the highway, he’s trying his hardest to keep his excitement off the gas pedal. It’s easier said than done until he sees the traffic has come to a slow stop. 

He instantly regrets not going the way he usually does.

“Petal?”

“Hey honey, I’m on my way home!” He says before groaning when he notices the traffic hasn’t moved. Of course when he wants to take the highway, there’s a traffic jam. “But there’s a bit of traffic.”

“It’s okay, love,” You chuckle at how annoyed he sounds, wanting nothing more than to pinch his cute cheeks and tell him it’s okay. “Take your time. I’ll still be here.”

“I know. I know. I just miss you.”

“I miss you too, darling.” He hears a bit of shuffling and he can tell you’re in bed. What he wouldn’t give to be in bed with you right now. “But are you sure that’s the only reason you called?”

“Huh? Yes?” 

“Uh huh. I’m not telling you anything until you get here.” You chuckle, making Jimin smile on his end. Your laugh never fails to brighten his day.

“Damn. You got me.”

It’s then that he glances out beyond where he is and realizes there’s been a car accident. A bad one from the looks of it. 

“Oh there was an accident.”

“Well be safe, Petal. We’ll talk when you get home.” 

“Okay I’ll see you in a little bit.” He hangs up the phone, traffic slowly picking up but still moving at a slow pace. Eventually, he makes it out of the radius of the crash (and hopes everyone involved is okay). He ends up arriving home around nine-forty, pulling into his driveway. He notes your car is in the garage so he leaves his parked outside. 

Jimin's heart is thrums in his chest, unsure of what you have planned but excited at the thought of what it could be. He doesn’t know what you have in store for him but that doesn’t stop him from running to the door with his keys in hand and ready to open the door. He’s confused the moment he shuts the front door and sees the downstairs lights are off. 

You said you were going to be home, so… Where were you?

“Honey?” He calls out your name with no answer in return. He tosses his keys and wallet in the basket next to the front door and sets his shoes on the rack. The soft hum of the air conditioner can be heard and the little creaks of the house but he doesn’t hear you. “Where is she?”

Jimin feels his phone buzz, noting you must have texted him earlier when he was getting out of the car. That’s why he didn’t feel it.

[ 09:32pm | Honey🥰: Come upstairs when you get home.

He stuffs his phone into his back pocket and heads upstairs when he sees the candles lining their way from the top of the stairs to your shared bedroom. He bites back the smile, realizing he was really panicking for no reason. Holding your arms open, he runs into your arms with hesitation as you amused at his reaction.

“Surprise Darling!” You grin as he’s vibrating with excitement and also confusion. 

“Is this-”

“Mhm and It’s all for you. I know how stressed you’ve been and I wanted to do something to help you relax.” You, noticing the way his eyes twinkle with adoration. You want to keep that look in his eyes for as long as you remain together. 

“I don’t know what to say.” Jimin throws himself into your arms again, this time his plush lips connect with yours over and over as you giggle into it.

“Petal-”

“No.” Jimin's eyes meet yours as you see his bottom lip begin to wobble, a small pout on his lips. You can see tears beginning to form in his eyes and you can’t help but comfort your baby. You know why he’s so emotional when you do things like this but it still hurts to see. “T-thank you for taking care of me.”

Your smile fades the longer you hold him in your arms as you don’t move, knowing he needs this more than he leads on. To be secure, comforted and not ridiculed. You kiss the tear from his cheek before wiping it away with your thumb.

“I told you I would. You don’t have to thank me for that.” As you hold his jaw, you bring his face closer, your lips so close all he has to do is lean forward to taste you but you don’t give him the luxury again. He doesn’t know where he would be if he hadn’t cast his doubts aside.

“Aish…” Jimin rolls eyes as his head falls back. “I’m sorry for messing up the mood.”

Jimin nods, taking in his surroundings as he steps away to truly look around the room. The rose petals leading from the top of the stairs to your shared bed and the way the dim candles are lit and lighting the room. Jimin can’t wait to see what you’re going to do.

“Now it’s time for you to relax and let me cater to you, Pretty.” You hold your hand out for him to take and when he grabs it, you tug him into your chest. His breath hitches and his eyes widen the moment as he swallows. Whenever you take control, it always makes his heart skip a beat but he wouldn’t trade it for anything else. “I wanna take care of you tonight.”

He looks at you before noticing a bottle of oil next to the bed. The apple of his cheeks turning red as you can feel his dick chub up in his jeans. 

“A massage?”

You hum, twirling your fingers for him to turn around and patting him on the butt to force him to move.
