i love doodling swapinverse like hello drawing characters aside from the normal mtt is lowkey therapeutic 🧡🧡🧡 anyways i FINALLY FINALLY finished crash's lore!!!! and vice.SER is connected to him,,,, theyre interconnected!!! i forgot how much i liked crash's design (not the design but all the little gimmicks in the design. figuring out all the hanging ribbon bits is annoying but hey it looks good)
#outertale does not exist in swapinverse anymore. how quaint#dude thalia and melpomene are th only ones that r like. 100% good#I NEED TO MAKE MORE GOOD AND NICE CHARACTERS😭😭😭😭#mst..... recreators (qip name 4 siphon n crash?) and vice.SER........ theyre all EVIL (or have evil goals)#i WAS thinking doing something with reaper because i adore his design and aesthetic and i wanna combine it with SOMETHING idk what#anyways if core frisk error which is supposed to be vice.SER exists then should normal core frisk exist too?????#i mean i dont think that just because a core frisk role esque person exists doesnt mean the role is instantly filled up#the mst and mtt co exist in swapinverse but those 3 are like.... NORMAL aus. not outcodss n stuff#i love the giant lance thing i gave crash. i mean the ribbons can form any weapon and take any shape (kinda like puella magi mami's guns)#but like..... it just is so cool i love characters that use multiple weapons#i LOVE (haha) every single little gimmick thing i give swapinverse characters. the tiny details is what i adore giving them#if you catch me not posting 4 a bit its probably just bc im working on swapinverse or jk fashion au. or maybe ive seriously just lost motiva#anyways i have a few banger rants in my drafts ive yet to elaborate om but just like....... i dont feel like it#someon needs to wrangle those posts out of my tired lazy arms#lowkey why do siphon and crash remind me of kanade and mafuyu. idk i cant explain#if you cut vice.ser in half it would be like jelly with binary in it. i wanna eat him#he would tingle on my tongue but thats just the static. eating yhe glasses would be difficult bit they dont have lenses so its ok#i drew them both looking at us but i think that vice.ser is the only true one always looking at US.looking out from inside#god i love swapinverse sooo much i wish i could get it done faster and be goatedly good with motivation. a shame#but i do think that i may be finishing up the character descriptions 500% ish sure#SO THEN THAT MEANS I CAN WORK ON THE ACTUAL STORY!!!! WOOOOO#ive already decided that theres gonna be mentions of me myself and i in it. i love meta storytelling#im cursed with perpetually sweaty hands i hate having to draw on slighty damp paper. nobody understands me#UGH im getting too happy in life im starting to act weird in public and offering to help people. i need to stop#anyways just school doodles!!! because in the period where they take our phones i have naught to do but draw#i need to get back (start) my english reading. and then help my friend with a few questions on her homework. how joyous#and then i can get back to my BETTER homework (working on swapinverse :3)#crash managed to destroy outertale in his lore i wonder how many worlds vice.SER will destroy#actually if hes supposed to be core frisk error then i should make him NOT destroy worlds right???? right#tricule rant

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You remember when you and Jungkook truly became friends.
You had never struggled to make friends. You naturally lured people in with your energy, maybe even your charm as a person. But after spending a month in Seoul already, you had never felt more out of place and out of your element. Every face you came across was the face of a stranger. It was like you were sitting in front of a TV screen and watching a crowd of people who didn’t matter to the plot of the movie. Just there. Living a life that had nothing to do with you.
And you were the same to them.
You had only had maybe two conversations with your roommate in the small dorm. The first conversation was hardly even an introduction and the second one was her asking you if it was cool that she would sneak her boyfriend in every now and then. You didn’t mind. But you thought it meant you all would become friends but that proved to be untrue.
The first week of classes, you realized many of your classmates are already friends or the ones who barely spoke were focused on their studies. That leaves you, someone with no friends and someone who isn’t that focused on school the way others were, feeling completely alone.
The Friday night after the first week of classes was supposed to be a night of partying with your new friends and the new independent life as a new adult. But instead you wandered around aimlessly, lost and lonely. You didn’t really want to spend the first weekend as a college student in your dorm but where exactly were you going to go? Well, you decided to stick to campus and ended up browsing the library.
A book to demolish during the weekend didn’t sound so bad, now did it?
When you were in the library, your eyes darted around, for no particular reason but hey, maybe something would stick out to you. And something did.
Or more like someone.
Your eyes grew twice their size when you spotted someone familiar. And goodness, nothing felt better than seeing something familiar in this new world.
You walked up to a table that sat at least six people but you stared with excited eyes at the only person occupying the space.
“Frog boy?” You had blurted in pure happy rage.
The frog boy in question kept his eyes on the book in his hands, only releasing a long sigh before lifting his eyes to you and cocking a brow.
“You’ve known me almost your entire life and you don’t even know my name?”
You had seen the playful glint in his eyes when he met your gaze.
You rolled yours, “Fine. Jungkook. Or you know, Ribbit.”
You hadn’t felt this excited and relieved since moving to Seoul. (Kind of.) (It’s not like you two were ever friends.) But that was about to change. Oh yes, that was going to change.
Whether your little frog boy, Jungkook, likes it or not.
“Do you go here too?!” You had asked him.
He only sighed again, looking back down at his book before answering with an unbothered nonchalance, “Nah.” And then he raised the book up, showing it to you with a straight face. “I came all the way to Seoul because only this library has…” He looked at the cover, “A freshman course Literature book.”
“Oh.” You nodded in understanding, equally straight face.
Jungkook narrowed his eyes at you, “You realize I’m joking, right?”
“That would make sense.” You nodded again, pulling out a chair across from him and taking a seat. “So we both go here. That’s great. We’re friends now.”
“Friends?”
“Unless you’re still too shy.” You remember how you challenged him.
But Jungkook raised another brow, “Am I still eight years old to you?”
“Maybe.” You had laughed before mocking. “When I see your face, I keep imagining it like,” You had scrunched up your features, pretending to cry while shaking your shirt. “A…a…a…a…a…f-frog!”
You remember how he laughed.
His laugh was pure, genuine and contagious. You remember how you joined him and it’s like the past lonely month you had spent in Seoul didn’t exist anymore.
You two would start meeting up once a week at the library. Very casual. He would try to study and you would talk his head off. Jungkook never once complained. You remember looking forward to your weekly hang outs and you had hoped he felt the same.
Jungkook obviously knew you were itching for more.
He looked over a textbook that he wasn’t paying any attention to and said, “You know we can hang out more than once a week, right?”
You basically had jumped out of your chair, cleaning up around you when you said, “Perfect. Let’s go to a party that my roommate told me about but didn’t invite me to.”
“A party?”
“A party.” You nodded.
Jungkook eyed you for a moment, looking hesitant. “I didn’t intend to party though.”
“Come on. We’re in this together.” You fluttered your lashes at him, trying your best to look convincing but he only huffed out an annoyed breath before giving in.
It was your first college frat party. Jungkook’s too.
It was also the first time you got super drunk. Jungkook too.
You two had really opened up and bonded this night. You realized Jungkook definitely wasn’t the shy boy you remember as a kid—that makes sense. You told stories and ended up in your own world. It was a lot of fun and you knew college in Seoul wasn’t going to be so lonely after all.
You remember by the end of the night when you two were walking, completely intoxicated, back to the dorms when you convinced him to just crash at your place. It was risky, trying to sneak him in, but it worked. You both stumbled inside, drunk off your asses when Jungkook claimed he didn’t feel good.
“Don’t throw up.” You remember warning him. “Or I’ll throw up too.”
“If I throw up,” He gulped anxiously, “I’d hope you would too. Didn’t you say we’re in this together?”
“D-Don’t even think about it.” You swallowed down your own drunken nausea.
And then he did throw up.
And then you did too.
Naturally, you were inseparable after this.
Weekly hang outs turned almost daily. You would talk to him like any other close friend and he would do the same. It felt good and natural and like you two had been friends since the day you shoved a frog down his shirt. And that first winter break, you two traveled home to Busan together, surprising your parents because after all these years of being neighbors, you were finally friends.
You two had convinced your parents to have a joint cook out and you remember how afterwards, you and Jungkook laid on the hood of his car, looking up at the stars and talking about life. You remember how you asked him what he envisioned for his future.
He glanced at you, eyes lingering on your face for several long moments before he narrowed them, “We’re on vacation and you’re asking me to think about my future?”
You both laughed.
“I don’t know if what I’m currently in school for is something I actually want to do with my life. I’m hoping I’ll get inspired and suddenly know what it is I have to do.” He had finally answered.
You remember understanding his words, the feeling resonating with you. “Me too.”
You remember turning your body towards his and smiling, “Have I told you how glad I am to have seen you at the library and I forced my friendship on you?”
He had snorted, turning his own body towards you as well. The moonlight hitting his face, illuminating his features just right. He almost looked straight out of a dream. “You didn’t force your friendship on me.”
It was your turn to snort. “Liar.”
He stared at you for a moment, teasing smile pulling at his lips when he began drumming his fingers against the metal hood of his car. “And why would I ever lie to you?”
You remember the vibration you felt beneath your body when each of his fingers landed on the metal with a rhythmic beat. You remember the sound like a melody and his words were the lyrics.
You remember how it felt when he basically sang his silent promise to you.
“Yeah, you’d never lie to me, right?” You had teased back but there was a quiet and genuine conversation happening beneath the teasing.
“Never.” He told you. And you believed him.
And you should still believe him, right?
But Misuk’s words are repeating relentlessly in your mind, ‘Closest. She hasn’t spoken one fucking word to you in two years. But right, closest.’
You want to have confidence in Jungkook because you should. But his silence after her words feels like cold, quick spider legs are racing up your spine, creating a chilling uneasiness and a spasm of worry and discomfort crosses over your face. You’ve never liked spiders.
What does Misuk mean by that? Why would she say that? There is no way you wouldn’t talk to your husband for two years. There must be some kind of misunderstanding. But your body remains stuck to the wall like you’ve been superglued and you’re afraid the moment you peel yourself away, your skin will be ripped off your bones.
You know there has to be some kind of explanation because her words don’t directly translate to you and Jungkook not actually speaking for two years but your brain sends signals throughout your body that you have every right to be as anxious as you feel.
Because your brain knows more than it’s letting on. Your brain holds all the mysteries that it doesn’t want to show you. And your body listens to the signals it sends.
“Be worried.” They say.
But no matter if your skin separates from you and becomes a part of the wall in your kitchen…you have to go out there and get some kind of answer. Because you can’t handle for one more thing in your life to not make sense.
You tell your shaking legs to walk.
Even while you feel imprisoned by fear, they move. Your body turning the corner of the kitchen wall, water still running in the background, as you make your presence known.
Jungkook and Misuk’s heads turn towards you when they feel you. And they mirror one another’s expressions. Watching you in numbed horror.
“y/n…” Misuk says your name, blood draining from her face but you can tell she’s trying to look normal. “Hey.”
“What do you mean?” You’re surprised you have a voice. “Why did you say that?”
Jungkook’s mouth falls open, panicked eyes boring into your face. But he doesn’t speak.
They quickly glance at one another, an understanding that you’ve heard their conversation and you see how Jungkook’s expression twists into one of anger before he looks completely ashamed when he meets your eye again.
“What’s going on?” Your feet take you closer, your brain sending the signals without you telling it to. Your brain must be making fun of you. Mocking you. Wanting you to find things out when it already has the answers. Like it’s playing some game. “Why did Misuk say that? Why are you two on bad terms? Why,” You’re walking faster, getting closer as adrenaline starts running through your veins, your mouth unable to stop speaking.
“I asked what’s going on.” You stop in front of them, “Why—why did Misuk say that? Why are you both quiet now? Why can’t you answer me? Why are you looking at me like that?” You can’t stop the questions from spilling out of your mouth, eyes going frantically between Jungkook and Misuk. “W-Why aren’t you answering? Why are you doing—why are you doing this to me? Why are you making me feel this way? Why—why aren’t you—” Your heart is rapid inside your chest, thumping against your ribcage, trying to run away and hide now. “Fucking answer me because I don’t know what the fuck is going on!” Your chest heaves uncomfortably, eyes blown wide as nothing makes sense inside your mind.
Jungkook stares at you, eyes just as wide before he slowly shuts them, his lips sticking together in a tight line, nostrils flaring.
“Nothing…” You quiet your voice, slight tremble when you speak. “Nothing already feels real to me. But marrying my best friend does make sense. But not talking to said husband for two years does not.”
You concentrate on the two in front of you, watching their expressions and reactions to your words carefully. Jungkook looks pissed while Misuk blinks at you with obvious guilt on her entire face.
“Say something!” You yell at them, both of their bodies flinching and your panicked thoughts only grow more wild and out of control. Fear is bursting your veins now. Fear of the unknown. Fear of what is known. The fear that your brain is just hiding something from you that could possibly make you heart crumble and shatter.
“I…I…” Misuk looks around, eyes unable to meet yours anymore while she sets the muffins down onto the table at the front entrance. “I should—should leave.”
Jungkook is quick to throw Misuk an incredulous look, “Are you fucking kidding me?” He spits at her. “You’re the one who opened your fucking mouth and opened this can of worms. And now you want to leave?”
Misuk snaps her head towards Jungkook, glowering eyes on him. “Should I stay? Say everything?”
Jungkook swallows hard and you can see anger spiking his body. “You’re right. You’ve done enough. Just leave. I’ll walk you out.”
“I don’t need you to wa—”
“—Let’s go.” He walks forward, opening the front door as she seethes, walking past him.
You watch in disbelief, brows pinching when you try to stop them. “Where—”
“—Just stay here.” Jungkook tells you, his voice softens when directed towards you. “I’ll only be a minute.”
And just like that, Jungkook and Misuk are out of your house, front door slammed shut.
How could they? How could they leave you here with your anxiety gripping your core and making you feel more lost and estranged in this world all over again.
You stand here, blood pooling into the heels of your feet. A sudden coldness surrounds you and you feel faint. What is going on? What exactly has transpired in these last nine years?
And where the hell is your explanation?
You wish you could shut off your brain. Tell it to stop coming up with ridiculous theories when it knows the truth deep down. It’s just having fun with you at this point.
You don’t think you can master the uneasiness you feel and control it.
Your tense body twitches the moment your front door is opening again and Jungkook is slipping through with downward eyes. You wait anxiously for him to come closer to you and explain that it is not what it seems. But his body language throws you off. It throws off the confidence you’re supposed to have in him.
Jungkook’s bottom lip is caught between his teeth, his own anxiety radiating off his body like heat off a space heater. You want to read him like a book, like a book with an obvious ending. But you can’t. You can’t read him since he is in another language right now.
“Jungkook.” You call for him, trying your best to stay in one piece.
He tries to look up at you but his eyes can’t manage your eyes. Your face. Your body. He can’t manage to feel what he’s feeling but a million times worse when he sees you. He walks closer to you, stopping just a foot in front of you, tense body looking more uncomfortable than what you’re feeling.
“y/n…” He can’t even say your name without his voice cracking, a harsh breath forcing its way out of his mouth while his hands immediately go to his face, fingers rubbing into his skin with a roughness that makes you more worried than before. “Fuck.” He mutters in into his hands.
“Talk to me.” It’s not a suggestion. He knows this. You’re not asking. You’re telling him. You’re telling him to explain why the hell Misuk says that you two are not close and you haven’t spoken in two years.
Jungkook’s hands drag down his face, the color has left him, a growing paleness that makes you think he might faint or puke at any moment. He’s struggling to even look at you.
But he does.
And you see the pain in his eyes.
“I don’t…” He croaks out, breaths uneven. “I don’t know where to start. I don’t know how to—how to explain. I don’t know what to fuck—fucking say.” He finally stares at you, gaze so intense you almost wish he would go back to looking away.
You swallow your nerves, your need for answers stronger than your need for ignorant protection of your feelings. “We’re married. Yet we haven’t spoken in two years. According to Misuk, anyway. Is that true?”
He’s still staring and you’re growing more panicked. Needing an answer now but his silence is telling.
“I asked if that’s true.” You repeat with a colder tone.
Jungkook releases a shaky breath, “It’s half true.”
Your lips twist, “What does that mean? We do talk?”
“No. We aren’t married.” He tells you, voice quiet and eyes ashamed.
You take a step back, confusion growing. “But…but I saw—”
“—We were married.” He clarifies. “But we aren’t…” He closes his eyes for a moment, stopping them from growing wet. “Anymore.”
You take another step back, face hardening as the confusion only triples. “We’re…divorced?” You ask him, but you hate that you even have to ask.
He stays still in his spot, the shame and regret thick in his voice when he answers, “Yeah.”
Your posture suddenly stiffens, letting out a forceful breath but because of the tightness in your chest, breathing is suddenly the hardest task.
You try to fight for optimism but your veins that were once bursting are filling again, but with a deadly acid that poisons your body. It’s running through you, corrupting and decaying any ounce of understanding. You need to breathe but you couldn’t possibly fight for one breath when your insides are turning rotten.
Jungkook finally takes a step forward but your feet carry you away from him, several steps back until you’re against the edge of your sofa.
“y/n…” He says your name but you aren’t sure he deserves to because he…
“Y-You lied to me?” You finally manage to say the one thought that keeps pushing against your raging forehead. “You lied to me? You lied?” You blink at him, “You lied to me, Jungkook? You made me think we…?” You shakily gesture between your bodies, “You let me think…”
“I…” Jungkook’s expression grows desperate. “I didn’t—I didn’t know what to do. I couldn’t…if I told you truth it would just…”
“The truth?” You look at him, disappointment in your killer gaze. “You lied to me. You lied—you lied. You would rather lie to me than—”
“—Yes!” He shouts, breathing heavier than before. “It’s one revelation after the other and you can’t handle the…”
Your disappointment, your shock, your betrayal are slowly turning into anger.
“You lied to me.” You say, knowing it’s a fact now. “Why?”
Jungkook’s lips are parted and you’re both waiting for his explanation but it doesn’t come.
“I asked you why, Jungkook.” You feel your body sinking. An unbearable sadness creating a space inside your chest. “Tell me why and maybe…” You want to be reasonable. Maybe he had to or maybe he…no, why would he lie? Why would he lie to you?
“It’s complicated.” Is the answer he settles for and the anger inside you finally snaps. Your body is struck with betrayal.
“Com—complicated?” You ask the word in earnest. “You’re joking, right?”
“y/n…I asked you to always trust—”
“—You’re asking me to trust you after you lied to me?” Your jaw tightens, “Just tell me and we will see if—”
“—No.” He shakes his head, growing paler by the second. “I-I can’t. I really can’t.”
“You can’t tell me? Why?”
“Because I can’t!” He grows exasperated, his eyes blown out. “I fucking can’t. I can’t. I can’t say it. I can’t do that. I c-can’t.” His body gives up on him, shoulders shaking when he falls to his knees and he squeezes his eyes shut. “Don’t make me say—say it. I just can’t.”
You look down at him, your confusion making you turn to anger instead of anything else.
You’re hurt.
But right now, being mad feels easier.
“Please, y/n.” His entire face makes you hurt more. “Please just…”
“Leave.” You say the word quietly. His eyes shoot open and he stares up at you. They’re blood shot and teary. “Please just leave.”
Jungkook tries to stand again, his knees are weak but he tries anyway.
“y/n…”
“Just leave.” You’re the one begging now, “Please just leave. Let me…just let me be right now.” You feel your own eyes grow wet, stinging and burning. Throat tight but you manage to beg him again, “Please just leave.”
Jungkook is trying to speak to you with his eyes and your brain, deep down, seems to understand him but your brain doesn’t want to let you in on this secret. He nods, blinking his eyes when a tear falls and his anxiously wipes it away. “Okay.”
He clearly doesn’t have it in him to fight you on this. Because for whatever reason, he can’t.
~~~
You wonder if this is how you felt when you first got divorced. Or maybe just a similar feeling. Like you’ve been stranded, abandoned and left for dead. Like your body has been drained of all the blood that pumps through you and someone has scooped out your heart and other organs and you’re now just an empty shell and a sorry excuse for a human being.
You might think to yourself that it’s quite dramatic to feel that way but somehow you feel even worse than that.
You haven’t slept and you aren’t even really sure if you’ve even breathed since the news. You’re restless and anxious. You’re angry. You’re sad. And you’re heartbroken. You don’t even know what it must have felt like when you and Jungkook broke it off. What must have went wrong? So wrong that you two would go separate ways and you two wouldn’t speak to one another.
A thought crosses your mind though…Misuk is upset with Jungkook. And she said you haven’t talked to him. She could have meant that you both haven’t spoken to one another in mutual agreement but Misuk’s hostility and choice of words have you believing different.
So what exactly happened? And why does Jungkook refuse to explain it to you?
You can’t imagine a world where he would betray you so badly that you’d divorce him and never speak again. But again, it’s been nine years. People do change. But you felt it in your bones…the happiness that coursed through his body when he was with you. You could feel how much he loves you. So then, what?
You touch the screen of your phone that rests by your thigh on the sofa, the light is bright and blinding but you catch the time on the screen. It’s after 6 am already. Your mind working in overdrive to come to some sort of conclusion. But you realize you aren’t considering everything.
You cannot be blind to the world around you.
Your parents must know you’re divorced but why are they so willing to agree to your marriage? Why did they only seem happy? Why do they still love Jungkook despite that you’re divorced now? They still trust him, that is obvious.
But Misuk doesn’t. And Subin seems to be on the rocks but she doesn’t seem totally against him either. In fact, you overheard her in the café. She said they don’t know everything. You remember that being strange. Know what?
But in the end, you need to consider Jungkook the most.
You two are apparently not together. And you two aren’t on speaking terms.
Then…is his apartment really his apartment? Suddenly, you feel even more lifeless at the thought. You can’t imagine the Jungkook you’ve always known…someone warm, cozy and tidy…living in that place. The countless bottles of alcohol, the little to no food, the stale air and even a hole in the wall that resembles too closely to the size of his fist.
You also need to consider his reaction to everything as well.
You know in your heart of hearts…how off and conflicted he’s been since the beginning. You also know how hard things must have been for him as well. But you can’t help but still feel hurt, angry and bitter at the fact that he easily lied to you and kept up a façade about something you dreamed of. Making you feel like a fool for being so openly happy with him. When it wasn’t the truth.
And maybe you are a fool.
A fool because 33 year old you might have the resolve to never speak to Jungkook but you, the you that exists now, doesn’t. And your brain is calling you a fool. Because it’s just a game for your brain. Your brain that hides all the answers and the truth. While you sit here completely clueless.
Clueless…
Clue…less…
Clue…?
Have there been any clues? Clues to the truth that you’ve missed?
Think. You need to think.
You sit forward on your couch, elbows on your thighs while your head falls into your hands.
You have to think. What are you missing that could—
The attic.
Your body moves quickly, suddenly standing from the couch when your head snaps towards the direction of the hallway. The attic…he hid your life away in the attic. You returned his keys to him—obviously—but you don’t think you locked it back up. Unless Jungkook went out of your sight to make sure it was locked again…then it should be unlocked and waiting for you to reveal your life.
Your heart has seemed to return back inside your chest, racing wildly and uncontrollably, making you feel dizzy. You just have to take the first step in the attic’s direction and you could possibly uncover more.
But you don’t move. Why? Why is it that you’re desperate for answers but your feet stay glued to the wooden floors?
Fear has made you its prisoner once again.
But you need to release the shackles, break free and run out. Run far away from this thing that’s jailing you. Ignorance isn’t something you associate yourself with and you won’t start now.
Determined, though afraid, you take the first step. Then another. And another. Feet heavy with each step but you take them. You’re you. You will always walk towards the right thing. Even when others disagree…you know, the right thing is the truth. Because you will not be ignorant.
You make it inside the mostly empty guest bedroom. It’s almost hotel like, no personal touch can be seen. For the first time, you feel odd being inside here. But not odd in the way that feels uncomfortable. But odd because it’s familiar. You take a moment, hand lifted towards the bedroom wall, flipping the light switch before your fingers lightly brush against the wall.
The paint in here is newer than the painted walls in the rest of the house.
A weird feeling accompanies your touch.
But once your eyes land on the ladder you placed against the wall, you’re quick to shake off any other feelings before grabbing it, lifting it and taking it out into the hallway and setting it up underneath the attic door before you groan in realization that you don’t even need it.
If it’s unlocked then you only have to pull the string and it should open.
And hopefully that’s the case.
You slide the ladder off to the side, deciding you’ll put it away again when you’re finished. You stare up at the ceiling, eyes on the dangling string and you know what you must do. You have to fight off this hesitance, this fear and walk towards the truth that tries so desperately to hide from you. Okay. Deep breath. Any breath at this point. You reach up, fingers wrapped around the string tightly before you give it a tug.
Your eyes expand when the door cracks open, clearly not enough pull to open it fully.
It’s unlocked.
Heart still racing, blood rushing and insides twisting. You pull again. Harder. And the door opens and the wooden staircase comes down and you unfold it to its full length. All you have to do is go up these steps and search through the physical evidence of your life. The boxes.
Your breaths are bated with each step you take that take you into the hole in the ceiling. The darkness feels consuming and you feel the chill wrap around your body the moment you enter inside. Walking further, you find the light and now a soft yellow makes the room glow.
The boxes glare at you. Challenging you. ‘go ahead, open me.’ They whisper tauntingly. You glance around, feeling a chill at all the cob webs and no doubt, spider webs in the dark corners of the attic.
Fingers brush against the top of a few boxes, dust left on your fingertips, quickly wiping it off on your pants before you pry the first box open. It’s the same first box you opened last time…loose papers, notebooks, random sticky notes with words that make zero sense to you. You grab one notebook, open it and read the first page.
Jeez, your hand writing is messy.

Park Jiyoo > Thurs and Friday was off the Friday…see where he was. Confirmed out of town since Wednesday
You keep reading over the paper but you don’t understand what you’re reading. Your confusion grows…why do you have a list of people and days of the week connected to their names?
You turn the page and there’s a list of times now. Ranging from morning to the evening. With each persons name linked somewhere with a time of…are these work hours? Clock in and clock out times?
You turn the page again but you can’t read your handwriting. Many words are scribbled out.
You decide to close the notebook and set it back inside the box. You grab another notebook, opening it to a random page when you notice different pictures of people taped to the paper. Men and women with their names written next to them. Your eyes go wide. You see the name Lee Jaesung written next to a photo of a man you’re sure you recognize.
It’s the man from the super market.
Next to his name is more scribbled words.
Lee Jaesung > Knows nothing.
And next to his picture and the words are pen scribbles that look done out of frustration.
What the hell is this? Why is the guy from the market inside this notebook with a bunch of other people?
You close the notebook, placing it inside again while you ignore this eerie feeling.
You push the box away and open another one. It’s the box with old clothes you had seen last time as well. You must have been wanting to donate them or something. You’re about to close the box when something catches your eye. On a piece of folded fabric beneath other articles of clothing, your eyes catch something that throws you off. A small patch of a cutesy koala clearly ironed onto the fabric. Your fingers go to touch it, curious about it for some odd reason. You pick at the little koala, the corners lifting off the fabric and you realize it might have been there a while and it’s starting to peel off.
It's cute, you think.
You decide to look at your shirt in whole, hands suddenly digging it out of the box, unfolding the shirt when your heart stops. Face completely focused on what you’re holding and you can’t seem to shake off the feeling that consumes you. Your confusion grows.
The shirt is small. Too small to be yours.
Suddenly, your skin feels cold and clammy. Your brows pull so close together, dropping the shirt to the ground when your hands go back inside the box. You pull out more of the clothing. Clothing you are now realizing is not fit for an adult. Tiny shirts, tiny pants. You drop all of the random articles to the ground and at the very bottom of the box…tiny shoes.
These are clothes for children.
Boys clothes.
Your fingers grab at the clothes frantically, your breaths growing heavier and heavier.
What is this? Why do you have this?
You abandon the box, heart racing even faster as you make your way towards the other side of the attic where you found the box that held your old wedding photo. You need to breathe, you remind yourself. You’re no good if you pass out from lack of oxygen filling your lungs.
But something haunting is crawling creepily over your skin.
You swallow hard, hands rubbing against your arms as if trying to brush away the spiders that must be crawling all over you with their millions of legs. But you only feel the unwanted goosebumps infecting your skin.
Once again hesitant…you stare at the box that’s half open. The box that held the photo.
You slowly reach for the left flap, lifting it and giving yourself a full view of the rest of the box. There’s more frames and you wonder if you can handle seeing more pictures of you and Jungkook living a life you don’t know of.
You gather your resolve, taking a shaky breath before reaching inside.
It’s a framed photo of you, Jungkook and your parents. You set it to the side before reaching in again. Framed photo of you and Jungkook at that park. A framed photo of you, Jungkook, Misuk, Subin and people you don’t recognize at a long dinner table. A framed photo of you and a group of people you don’t know holding up a ‘congrats on the promotion’ sign.
Your hands shake, seeing yourself in all of these scenarios you don’t recall.
Reaching the end of the box, you see one last photo of you and Jungkook wearing headbands that say ‘2017’ while sharing a kiss.
You need to breathe. No matter how overwhelming this is…you need to breathe.
You organize the photos back inside the box before pushing it away and opening another one. A really dusty one. You notice this box is taped closed and you struggle with peeling the tape back and getting it open. But once it is, you slowly open the flaps and reveal what is inside.
Again, your heart is aggressively throwing itself against your chest.
You are confused again. Slowly dipping your hands inside, you pull out a toy car. You bring it closer to you, inspecting the toy. A stabbing pain hits you relentlessly in your lower stomach. You carefully set it down before digging inside the box again, this time pulling out a zoo animals Lego set box. You don’t like this. Your brain is sending signals through your body again. You aren’t supposed to like this. Your brain is warning you.
You swallow even harder, your throat feeling tight and dry.
You reach inside the box again and pull out a plastic robot, maybe around 6 inches in height. It looks like the most used toy so far…scratches across the plastic and even a missing hand. You turn it around, twisting it to look more carefully when you notice something written on the bottom of the foot with faded marker.
Haru.
It spells the name Haru.
Who is Haru?
Your breaths won’t even out and relax. Who is Haru? You bring the toy close to your chest, gripping it tightly but your fingers are feeling weaker and weaker.
You know this toy. You think you do, anyway. It’s the first item in any box that feels familiar to you. And you aren’t sure what to feel about that.
Your lips are drying and even when you poke your tongue out to lick them, it doesn’t help. They continue to dry with an intensity that has you mistaking this cold air for the dessert.
You place the robot back into the box, closing it softly before turning towards another box.
You have to keep going.
Even though you aren’t sure how you will survive the rest of your searching.
Your chest aches. A physical pain from the pounding of your heart.
You reach for another box, sliding it towards you but it’s heavy. Heavy like the box that held photos. You get it opened and your breath hitches the moment you see this box also has photos. On top, a picture of Jungkook brushing his teeth in the bathroom mirror. His sleepy eyes and sad attempt at a peace sign. You hate that your eyes are stinging.
You grab another frame, eyes narrowing at the photo.
A picture of you and Jungkook at the park with his hand over your stomach as you both smile.
No…
Your chest rises and falls much faster.
You reach for another photo and you don’t mean to shakily gasp, eyes burning at the sight. Your stomach looks huge in the photo, Jungkook’s face pushed up against it while you’re laughing.
You aren’t capable of registering what the fuck you’re looking at. Your hands shake harder, the photo suddenly looking blurry. That can’t be you. That isn’t you. It’s not you.
“W-What…” Your voice is barely audible to your own ears.
Your entire body goes rigid and cold.
You set the photo down before reaching for another one and as soon as you look at it, your shaky hands drop it. A loud slam to the attic floor and glass shattering at your feet. You blink at nothing, tears welling as you feel the blood completely drain from your face. You’re shocked frozen. Quick breaths that make you feel like you’re dying.
You try so hard to snap out of it but how could you? How could you process the broken framed photo at your feet? How could you?
You squat down, trembling fingers wiping away the hundreds of pieces of glass. The shards are sharp but nothing feels more piercing than the image that stares back at you. You pick up the picture, eyes blinking rapidly, ridding the tears that are forming. Tears because how could you understand and accept what you’re seeing?
You in a hospital bed with Jungkook’s arms around you. You both look ecstatic, teary eyed and smiling widely while in your arms…is a baby.
A baby.
You scoff underneath your breath. A baby.
Don’t you mean…your baby?
Immediately, just at the thought, you truly begin to panic.
There is no way. No fucking way you had a child. A child with Jungkook. You can’t believe this because nothing has felt more fucking unreal than this and nothing feels scarier. You don’t remember this. This can’t be you. This isn’t you. You aren’t you.
You drop the frame again, the loud thud making you wince before you step away slowly. Your eyes anxiously dart around again. The boxes are once again taunting you. You can’t. You can’t be in here anymore. You can’t do this anymore. You don’t want this anymore. You don’t want this life anymore. You want a life you can recognize but this is too far out of your element for you. This isn’t your life. This isn’t you. This isn’t you. This isn’t you.
Your breaths grow heavier, chest getting tighter and you’re wondering what it’s like to breathe because you don’t remember the last time you did now. Not normally, anyway. Your eyes can’t blink back tears anymore. You’re too overwhelmed to stop yourself from sobbing. Sobbing hard and uncontrollably. Pathetic whines leaving your mouth as you tremble at the sight of this attic.
You need to get out of here.
You quickly turn the light off, stumble down the steps and without bothering to close the attic, you rush to the living room and collapse to the sofa.
Tears flooding your cheeks. Sobs wracking your body. Misery consuming your soul.
You are a mother?
Were a mother?
Where is this Haru?
Is Jungkook hiding an entire child? Perhaps Haru is with Jungkook’s parents?
Everyone agreed to keep a fucking child from you?
They shouldn’t have kept this from you. Sure, you’re 24 in your mind and nowhere near ready for a fucking child. But you birthed this kid and have no clue who he is. Your brain won’t even give you a piece of a memory that deals with someone you should love dearly.
Anger. Guilt. You aren’t sure what to feel right now.
But devastation for this entire thing should be a good start.
And you think you truly deserve that explanation.
You stuff your face into the cushion of the sofa you’ve grown to love and you cry. You cry hard and you cry loudly. You soak the sofa with your tears and you wonder how you could possibly accept this. Accept something that not only doesn’t feel real…but can’t be real.
You imagined marrying your best friend and that’s a place you could start. A place that was easy to accept. But this? This is hardly something you can recognize as a life of your own.
And you need Jungkook to tell you everything now.
Or you might truly go insane.
You don’t care it’s the ass crack of dawn, you feel for your phone that you know you left here on the couch and when you feel it, you bring it to your puffy face and try to find Jungkook’s name through your blurry vision. And you call him.
He must not be sleeping either because he answers before the first ring is even over.
“Hello? y/n?”
You don’t hide the fact you’re crying, “Come over. Now.” And you hang up.
~
Jungkook sits next to you, body turned towards you, completely stunned. You’re looking weak, unable to look at him for too long without growing emotional. He’s guilty. He lied to you. And you’re upset. But your puffy, red eyes has his heart aching dully in his chest.
“Please talk to me, y/n…yell at me, hit me, anything you want but please say something.” He quietly begs you. He doesn’t dare reach for you, though his hands yearn to. Instead, he drums his fingers against his thigh.
You’re still unable to look at him, your brain still trying to process everything. But you know you need to speak up and get real answers. Answers that are the truth. And you need to hear them from Jungkook, himself.
“I went,” You pause, trying to clear your throat but it still burns, feeling tight. “I went into the attic.”
Jungkook’s fingers come to a sudden stop. “You what?”
You finally lift your eyes to him, “I said I went into the attic.”
His face pales.
“I saw a lot of things.” Your gaze flickers down again, eyes stinging once more. “I saw that I was pregnant. I found his—Haru’s things…”
Jungkook stares at you, pain and terror flashing in his eyes, his bottom lip quivering the moment you said Haru’s name.
“We have a child and you didn’t say any—”
“—I…I…” He chokes on his words, his entire body tensing like it’s on the verge of shutting down.
“We have a son together and you didn’t mention anything?” You give him a hard stare, eyes looking cold and you see how he physically shatters under your gaze. He shatters just like the glass in the attic. He too is at your feet. At least it feels that way. “Say something Jung—“
“—Fuck!” He cries out, eyes slamming shut as his shoulders and chest begin to quake. “I can’t fucking do this.” He breathes out roughly, “I can’t do this again.”
Your head pushes back in slight shock, “Do what?”
“Go through this.” He bows his head, silent tears falling to his lap. “I can’t tell you again.”
You feel struck with something eerie, “Tell me what again?”
Jungkook doesn’t answer you right away. He isn’t able to. He chokes on his words, chokes on his breaths and chokes on his tears. He’s shattered but there is nothing sharp or piercing about him. He’s soft around all edges. He’s soft. And he’s devastated.
“I’m—I’m not r-ready.” He cries into his hands. “This ha-happened too q-quickly. You shouldn’t…you shouldn’t…I can’t…”
You feel the urge to reach for him and you do, your fingers going to the back of his head, massaging his scalp and neck. “What’s wrong? What’s happening?” You suddenly feel worried.
Jungkook won’t calm down. A harsh reality suddenly all around you both.
“Where is Haru, Jungkook? Why are you crying? Is he with your parents?” You ask him question after question and he only cries harder. You’re trying to piece it together. Where is your son? The kid you gave birth to? The one you don’t remember? He’s not…he can’t be…?
“Is he…dead?” You ask the question slowly between long breaths. “Is he—”
“—No!” Jungkook finally lifts his head, swollen eyes on you. “He’s not. He isn’t. He isn’t. He-He can’t be. Haru is…” He shakes his head violently, “He isn’t. Haru is alive. He’s…”
“Jungkook…” You see the pain and terror in his eyes still. And maybe pain and terror have always lived inside his irises. And you never understood it until now. “What happened?”
Jungkook wipes his face aggressively, trying his hardest to clean himself from his sorrowful tears. He takes deep breaths, eyes falling to yours where he seeks comfort.
“A little—a little over two years ago…” Jungkook takes another deep breath. “Haru….” He pauses, struggling to say it.
“What happened…?” Your heart is racing again.
“He—He was kidnapped. He was taken from us, y/n.” Jungkook spills the truth. The words fall from him mouth like vomit. “He was abducted and he—he hasn’t been found.”
You aren’t really processing this. You can barely believe you have a child. But now you have to believe this child is missing. You aren’t understanding. How could you?
“W-What?” You drop your hand from his hair. “What are you talking about Jungkook?”
He sighs out heavily, silent tears still leaving a miserable trail down his cheeks. “Haru was taken.”
Haru…your son…was taken?
“And they closed the case. Too fucking early but they closed the case. They presume he’s…they don’t think he’s…” He can’t say it. But you hear him loud and clear. The police gave up on looking because they believe he’s dead.
You do feel sad. Maybe even heartbroken. But there is a disconnect because none of this sounds real to you.
You look down at your lap, “This…this is around the time we got divorced?”
Jungkook chokes on a silent sob, “We divorced soon after.” He admits to you, “Losing my boy, losing you…and I lost my job eventually too.”
You look back up to him, “Why?”
His expression twists, shame gracing his features. “I was a mess, y/n. I couldn’t…I couldn’t handle myself or control myself. Finding Haru was all I could focus on but it led to too many bad things and eventually…Captain Kim, he felt for me.” Jungkook wipes his face again, “But they couldn’t keep me anymore.”
Your heart sinks at his admission.
Jungkook has been suffering on his own while you are lost on all this trauma.
This was obviously hard on both of you. It was too hard on both of you. He couldn’t handle himself? Control himself? But what about you? What were you like in all of this?
Are you lucky that you don’t remember?
Or is not knowing even worse?
“Okay…it’s okay…” You whisper towards Jungkook. Your heart mending itself from all the broken pieces because it makes sense now. Why Jungkook lied. Why he’s been so careful with you finding things out. Because this is…a lot. But right now, you want to comfort him. Because no matter what 33 year old you was going through…24 year old you just wants to hug her best friend.
~~~
It's been a few days since you found out about Haru. A little boy who doesn’t feel real to you.
He was three years old when he was kidnapped.
And if he is still alive…he should be five now.
You’ve been detached and numb, unable to face anyone quite yet. Jungkook checks on you but suddenly, meeting his gaze has become harder. And you think he agrees. This is a huge shock for you and you see how repeating this news is just as hard for Jungkook. He’s burdened with something miserable that lingers in his eyes.
You finally decide to reach out to your parents today.
Needing them to know that you know everything now.
You call your mom, phone to your ear as you listen for each ring until her sweet voice is calling a melodic ‘hello!’.
“Hey.” You mumble into the phone, “Is dad with you?”
“Your dad?” Your mom sounds far from the phone, “Hold on, I’m putting away some groceries. Almost done!”
You smile a little, “Okay.”
After some shuffling in the background, you hear your moms voice in your ear now. “Okay! What’s up?”
“Is dad with you?” You repeat your question.
“Oh.” Your mom sighs out, “Nope. He’s with Jungkook’s father, they’re out playing golf.”
“Oh.”
“Why? Is everything okay? Are you trying to get a hold of him? Is he not answering?”
“No, no.” You shake your head, though she can’t see you. “I wanted to talk to both of you…but it’s okay. You can just fill him in.”
“Fill him in?”
“I know me and Jungkook are divorced.” You say the words quickly. “Why did you pretend we were married?”
It’s silent. Just soft breaths barely audible on the other line. “Well,” Your mom finally breathes out, “I think it was easier that way.” She admits. “You two love each other very much so I just didn’t see the issue.”
You scoff, “We’re divorced yet you—”
“—It’s not like he’s a bad guy. Or you’re bad, either.” She cuts in. “Things just…”
“I know about Haru.” You tell her. You hear how she inhales a sharp breath.
“H-Haru…” She repeats slowly, “You know because…?”
“I found out.” You tell her, “I don’t have my memories.”
Your mom is quiet on the other line before you hear her sniffling.
“Mom?”
She takes a deep breath, “I’m sorry.” Her voice is shaky. “This isn’t fair for you, honey. I’m so sorry.”
You sigh, “It’s not like I remember.”
“You know…after the abduction…” Your mom grows more and more emotional, “There were days where I wished I could take your pain and heartbreak away. But not remembering your son is also another pain and heartbreak.”
You don’t mean to get teary eyed at that. You try to keep your voice even. “I-I guess.”
“After everything…” Your mom clears her throat, “You really shut down. Of course you did. You’re a mother who lost her child. But…you just…you shut everyone out. You didn’t really talk to me or dad much anymore and we felt helpless. How couldn’t we feel that way?”
“Mom…”
“We were devastated when you filed for divorced.” She says. “You and Jungkook were both heartbroken and in a bad place…it was obviously too much for both of you. But instead of figuring it out together…you fell apart.”
You divorced…because losing Haru was too much to bear?
Your heart sinks deeper. You can’t imagine what Jungkook felt.
Or you. But you won’t understand that one until you feel it again one day when your memories return.
“The pain was too much but I wish you would have stayed together…what you needed was each other.”
“Oh.”
“And…we’re all devastated about Haru. But seeing the both of you completely broken…was another heartbreak we had to feel.”
~
You’ve thought about the conversation you had with your mom earlier all day. You sit here, trying to analyze her words. But they aren’t hard to understand. She claims you and Jungkook fell apart and divorced because the pain of losing your son was too unbearable. And you realize it is a solid reason.
Your foot taps against your wooden floor, anxiously waiting for Misuk and Subin to arrive. You sent them a long text explaining everything and they said they’d be over as soon as possible. But you’re anxious. Anxious that even they know about a son you gave birth to when even you don’t. Anxious because you realize you feel guilty over it. Guilty you can’t remember something that is supposed to be precious.
You sit here when your hands fly to your forehead when it suddenly starts pounding. A horrible ache pushing against your skull and you wince at the pain. Shit, you haven’t taken your medicine today. Standing from your sofa, you intend to walk to the kitchen but fists get knocked against your front door.
They’re here.
Taking a deep breath, your feet take you to them instead. And as soon as the door is opening, Subin and Misuk bring you into their arms while they whisper their apologies and sorrows. You wish you were still numb. But you aren’t. You tremble in their hold instead and let yourself cry into their arms.
After several minutes and your determination to calm yourself, you finally pull away from the girls and offer a small smile. “Sorry.” You try to laugh to ease your sadness.
Subin pouts at you, “No.”
“Don’t say sorry.” Misuk smiles at you, “I’m sorry. Sorry for everything…you overheard me and it all turned out like this…”
“Well, you aren’t wrong.” You bump her shoulder. “Let’s sit.”
You girls walk into your living room and plop down onto the sofa. “This sucks.” You try to laugh but your chest feels heavy. “How is it that my life turned out like this?”
“I know…” Misuk frowns. “I really am sorry that things spiraled and you found things out like this…I hated lying to you. I hated seeing everyone lie to you. You deserved to know the truth because I know that’s…” She bites her lip, worry written all over her face. “That’s what you’d want. But I truly don’t know what would have been worse…finding out like this or finding out because your memories returned and everything would hit you like a ton of bricks.” You glance down at your hands, trying to mull over her words. You think she’s right. But you think she’s right in a way of the you who would want it this way because you didn’t know any better.
“I just,” You sigh out, “I just can’t believe me and Jungkook’s marriage failed when we needed each other most.”
Your head snaps up when you hear Misuk scoff.
“What?” You question her while she narrows her eyes at nothing. “What is it?”
The space between her eyebrows crease, “Your marriage didn’t fail because of your mutual heartbreak over Haru’s abduction, y/n.” She finally meets your eye. “Is that what you think?”
For the millionth time, your heart beat grows faster. “What do you mean?”
“Your marriage failed because you blamed Jungkook for it.”
Your heart comes to a complete stop. “What?”
“You blamed him for the kidnapping.” She clarifies, “But I guess Jungkook conveniently left that part out.”
“What…what are you—“
“—Misuk.” Subin says her name with a harsh, cold tone. “Enough already.”
“What?!” Misuk grows frustrated, eyes on Subin now. “She already knows this much—”
“—You don’t even know everything!” Subin cuts her off, “It’s not like we even know what y/n was thinking at that time! She didn’t even…” She suddenly gets quieter, her eyes going to you now. “She…you…” She meets your surprised gaze at her outburst. “You barely even spoke to us after the incident.”
You feel cold all of the sudden.
“You…” Subin tears her gaze away, “You got so distant. And we don’t blame you, of course we don’t blame you. But,” She looks at Misuk again, “How could you blame Jungkook for that?”
“y/n had her reasons!” Misuk throws back at Subin, “She told me herself.”
“It was fucking vague.” Subin rolls her eyes.
“Yeah? Well it was hint enough.”
You look between the girls, their own tension forming between their bodies. “Wait, wait. Just hold on. What is happening?”
Subin looks at you again, “Nothing.”
“No.” You shake your head, “What is Misuk talking about?”
“Look,” Misuk takes a deep breath. “All I know is that you blame Jungkook. Before Haru was taken…it was clear your marriage was rocky even then. You didn’t talk about it though. But something was wrong.” Misuk fills you in even when Subin glares at her. “And I trust you.”
On one hand, you’re flattered Misuk is such a ride or die. But on the other hand, you’re only left feeling more and more confused.
But Jungkook’s voice is in your head now.
Him asking you to always trust him.
It doesn’t sound like Misuk has solid evidence to be so against Jungkook. She only has your word. And since you can’t trust your own self right now. You’ll believe in Jungkook.
~~~
You want to believe in Jungkook. But Misuk’s warning words remain ringing in your head. You lay here in bed, mind racing with theories that make you want to vomit. Your head still hurts and something odd keeps bothering you. Like a memory wants to push itself out of your brain but it keeps holding it back.
You toss and turn in bed. The same numbness has returned.
You don’t think you mind. You accept the numb sensation that takes over your body from the inside out, you disappear with it. You’re grateful because it provides the escape from the raw reality that you suffer.
It is a preference.
Rather than feeling overwhelmed with a million emotions chaotically colliding inside your brain…you feel nothing but guilt from escaping. And you prefer this guilt over others.
You turn your head to the right, towards the window, when you feel your phone vibrating against your mattress.
Who is calling at this hour?
Grabbing your phone and looking at the screen, you see Jungkook’s name. Is he so lucky to escape too? Or is he in the reality where he suffers?
“Hello?” You murmur into the phone.
“Hey,” Jungkook speaks quietly, “Um…I didn’t wake you, did I?”
“Cute that you think I’d be able to sleep.” You half joke. “What’s up?”
Jungkook sighs into the phone, “Honestly…if you’re up for it. Want to talk? In person?”
You sit up from bed, “In person?”
“Yeah.” You suddenly hear soft, distant knocks on your front door. “I’m kind of already here.”
You lower the phone to your chest, head turned in the direction of your open bedroom door, where you know Jungkook is in the distance outside at your front door.
You quickly end the call, standing from the bed when you make your way to him. Door opening and a gust of wind enters your house with his scent carried with it, hitting your nostrils and you melt. But you shouldn’t.
“Hey.” You nod towards the inside of your home. “Come in.”
Jungkook gives you a timid smile before walking in, slipping his shoes off and going to the couch.
“I—”
“—Actually,” You cut him off before he can say anything. “I want to lay down. I feel…drained.” You admit to him with a tired smile, “Can we lay in my bed? Just to lay. And talk.”
Jungkook looks conflicted but he sees how exhausted you clearly are. “Okay.” He whispers, “We can.”
You lead him to your bedroom, for some reason you go to the side of the bed closest to the window even though you usually sleep on the side closest to the door. You lay on top of the blanket and rest your head atop the fluffy pillow.
Jungkook takes a breath before climbing into the bed as well. A small smile threatening to pull his lips apart. You notice.
“What?” You question him but he shakes his head, suppressing the smile.
“No, it’s just…this is my side of the bed. And that’s yours. It’s like your body remembered even if you don’t.” He tells you quietly, a shy expression on his face. “It’s silly to think about that, I guess.”
You feel your cheeks grow warm. Embarrassment clear on your face. “Oh.” You’re both facing one another.
“Um, it’s—” Jungkook rests his head against the pillow but he pauses because he’s sure he feels something. “What’s…” He reaches underneath and his curious gaze turns somber. “Haru’s robot…” He whispers, the toy in his hands.
You grow more fucking embarrassed.
“Oh shit.” You blurt, completely forgetting it was under that pillow. “I just…it…” It was the one item in the attic that felt even a little familiar to you so you went back up to get it. “I felt…connected to it somehow.” You admit to him.
Jungkook nods slowly, “That makes sense. Haru wouldn’t go anywhere without this thing. The bath, to daycare, to Busan, any car ride—” He laughs a little. “Even needed this friend when his stomach hurt and he had to poop.”
You crack a smile, “Thanks, that makes me feel great for having it under my pillow now.”
“Eh, I’m sure it’s clean. You always made sure everything was clean for him.” Jungkook lowers the robot to the mattress, “I know you aren’t aware. But you’re the best mom in the world.”
Heat crawls up your neck, “That feels weird to hear.”
“I know.” Jungkook frowns but he tries not to. “But you should hear it.”
“Should I?”
“Yeah.” He tells you with earnest eyes. “He reminded me all of the time that you were the best mommy in the world. He,” Jungkook breaks into a small grin, quietly chuckling when he sorts through his own memories. “I remember when I would take him to work and in front of everyone I would tell him I love him and he would respond with, ‘and I love mommy.’ Such a brat, that kid.” He laughs, keeping his emotions at bay.
You can’t help but giggle too.
“He was always changing. One minute he would be outgoing and talk to anyone and the next he was guarded and shy. And I know all kids say wild stuff but he really said the wildest stuff.” Jungkook continues to smile. “I never knew what crazy thing he would say in public that would make me look like a questionable dad. Swear he did it on purpose.”
“He sounds fun.”
“He is. Never bored around him.” Jungkook’s smile turns so soft. “He always slept through the night too. Once he was out…that was it until the morning. He might have been a pain in the ass sometimes but I really appreciated it that because,” Jungkook’s soft smile drops and his gaze darkens with something coy, “He never interrupted my time with you.”
More heat envelopes your body. “That so?”
“Heavy sleeper too.” Jungkook tells you, “Never knew what we were up to.”
He finally cracks a teasing smile and you push his chest with a small laugh. “Shush.”
Jungkook still smiles at you but it turns more serious. “I know this is all…a lot for you. But being able to talk about Haru with you feels…” He sighs before swallowing his emotions. “It makes me believe in living again.”
You pinch your brows together, “What do you mean?”
“I think I’ve only been surviving.” He admits. “I haven’t felt alive since the last time we were really together.”
Without thinking, you reach for him. Palm resting flat against his beating heart. “You feel alive to me.” You whisper.
“That’s because you’re here.” He whispers back, “This,” He taps your hand, talking about his heart. “Hasn’t made a single sound until you told me you loved me.”
You wish his words wouldn’t affect you. But 24 year old you is affected. Because 33 year old you isn’t here right now.
You aren’t sure if that’s good or bad.
“Can I ask you something?” You gaze into his eyes. His eyes are soft and might you say, full of love when he nods quickly.
“You’re working on a case with your ex-partner Jimin…is it about Haru?”
Jungkook slowly closes his eyes when he frowns, “I can’t tell you anything about it, y/n…I can’t involve you.”
You sigh, “Okay.” Then you ask him something else. Feeling direct. “Misuk doesn’t trust you. Why?”
Jungkook suddenly looks annoyed. “Because she doesn’t know anything. It’s all assumptions on her end but you trust me, right?”
You think you do. So you nod.
“When your memories return…can you still trust me?” He asks you, but it sounds like he didn’t direct the question towards you at all. And that causes an uneasiness to stir.
But still, you are choosing him right now.
You glance to his chest and notice your hand is still against him and you laugh a little, “Sorry. I’m still touching you.”
“It’s okay.”
“I swear I’m not trying to throw myself at you.” And then you scrunch up your features. “Oh no, that’s what I was doing, right? Previously…I was totally forcing myself on you.”
Jungkook can’t help but snort a little, smiling tugging at his lips. “You didn’t force yourself on me, y/n.”
Now it’s your turn to snort, “Liar.”
His fingers go to your hand again, softly drumming them across the top of your hand and you feel his heart beat harder. “And why would I ever lie to you?”
You feel the vibration against your skin when each of his fingers land with a rhythmic beat. You recall this sound like a melody and his words are the lyrics.
You notice how it feels when he basically sings his silent promise to you.
“Yeah, you’d never lie to me, right?” You ask, voice cracking. “Not really, right?”
Jungkook’s fingers come to a stop before he’s wrapping them around your hand. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you the truth.”
You quickly shake your head, “No, I can understand.” Your voices quivers. “I was angry. But I can understand.”
“I never lied about my feelings, you know?” He keeps holding your hand in his. “I do love you. I have for so long and I’m never going to stop.”
He’s staring so intently into your eyes and you’re wondering how you couldn’t trust this man. You can see his heart in his eyes and it’s beating so wildly for you.
~~~
The market is busy. It seems everyone is trying to do their grocery shopping today. You and Subin roam the aisles, plucking items off the shelves with giddy smiles. You’re going to bake Jungkook his favorite homemade cookies. You finally found the recipe books and wrote down all the ingredients.
Thankfully, since it will be your first time giving it a go, Subin has offered to help you. You’re both searching for vanilla but it seems that either they’re out or you’re totally missing it.
“What if we just skip the vanilla?” You say nonchalantly but Subin gasps.
“Bakers all around the world all have a tear running down their face right now not knowing the reason why all because you just said that!” She says dramatically, “Vanilla is crucial!”
You can’t but laugh, “Yeah, yeah.”
“We still need brown sugar too, right?” Subin eyes the shelves. “Is it just me or is it so unorganized?”
“You know how people are,” You shrug. “When they don’t want an item anymore they just stick it anywhere.” Then you point at something, “That explains why there’s a package of uncooked chicken on the shelf with flour.”
“That can’t be safe.” Subin shudders. “Anyway, did you already grab the chips Jungkook wanted?” She eyes your cart, “You’ll totally forget. Go grab them and I’ll finish finding the vanilla and brown sugar.” She grins at you with rosy cheeks.
“Oh I did totally forget.” You say, glancing at the cart as well. You look up at the aisle numbers and search for the word ‘chips’. “Sweet, it’s only two aisles over. Be right back!”
You walk over to aisle four, eyes browsing all of the chip options when you spot a few you ‘d like as well.
“Hmm, these ones.” You grab a bag, “And these ones.” Another bag. “Oh, yes…these ones too…” You hold three bags in your arms. “Right, I need to get Jungkook’s too.” You whisper, eyes searching for the brand he wanted. You smile when you spot them, trying your best to carry the three bags in one arm while you reach for the other bag. On your tip toes, you grab it and successfully hold all four bags. Feeling accomplished, you quickly turn around but bump into someone, dropping all of your chips.
“Ah, sorry, sorry!” You apologize to the stranger. Your eyes meet and you’re met with the familiarity like you are every time. “Oh. Nabi.” You say her name like you two are fully acquainted.
Nabi stares at you wide eyed before offering a smile. “Hi.” She says before glancing around, her kind eyes suddenly looking anxious. “How are you? Um, here…let me help—”
“—Oh no, it’s okay!” You smile. But you both bend down at the same time, bumping heads and you’re about to giggle about it but suddenly it’s like images start flashing in your mind. You try to brush it off, reaching down to grab the chips instead of focusing on whatever images you saw that don’t make sense.
You reach for a bag at the same time as Nabi and when your hands touch, you swear the world goes completely still. Your eyes meet in panic and suddenly more images are speeding around in your brain and before you know it, they aren’t just images. But full on scenarios.
And for the first time, they do make sense.
You pull your hand back quickly, eyes blinking rapidly while you try to step back.
“y/n?” Nabi’s kind eyes turn concerned. “Hey, are you okay?”
You take another step back.
Blood draining from your body.
These aren’t just scenarios.
These are memories.
You stare at her, bewildered. Your panicked breathes leaving your mouth quickly as you try to ease your nerves. “Um,” You swallow thickly. “I—I…” Your fingers begin to tremble and you’re unable to hold the chips anymore.
Nabi watches you carefully, “Are you—”
You don’t let her finish, your feet taking you far from here. Panicked, anxious and alert…you race back to Subin and the moment she sees you, the adorable smile gets wiped off her face.
“What’s wrong?” She asks immediately, her hands going to your shoulders. “Hey, talk to me.”
But you’re breathing too quickly, your eyes blown wide.
“What’s wrong?” She repeats, her worry evident. “Are you okay? Did something happen? Hey, y/n…calm down.”
Calm down?
You can’t calm down. Your breathing is harsh and heavy. Your chest is closing in on itself.
You wanted to trust Jungkook. You wanted to ignore Misuk’s words. You wanted to. Really. But with all the things you’ve just seen fly through your head, and the few new memories that sit tightly tucked inside your brain…you don’t know that you can.
Misuk might not have had any solid reason…but your own memories feel like reason enough.
You’re silently gasping for air, struggling to breathe. But you manage to say the words that make you feel like you’re fucking dying inside. “I know,” You swallow hard. “I know why I blame Jungkook.”
jk rowling is not as good a writer as everyone says she is (don’t worry tumblr ik we hate all her). people defend this bitch and say “okay she might have bad values but she’s good at writing-,” bitch- she’s decent [at writing] but good god so many flaws.
she has no consistency with details and it’s starting to piss me off i’m gonna rant about it.
she claims nagini was the snake harry freed in the beginning of sorcerers/philosophers stone, but nagini is a maledictus and took the form of some sort of viper. the snake was a brazilian boa constrictor.
terry boot was a slytherin in the books, or at least he was in the first one (currently rereading the sorting scene for reference), but in the games he’s a ravenclaw.
she designs character arcs with little thought of the world building attributes she created and the magnitude and effect of things on people. (the wandlore for each element of a wizard or witch’s wand is supposed to fit the person it belongs to, the whole mental trauma of bullying, the way family dynamics work, etc.)
also all authors, i know we pick our favorite words to use and go and delete half of the instances they’re used because we’re scared of overusing them.
this woman had NO shame repeating words to a ridiculous extent.
“he/she beamed” AT LEAST TWICE A FUCKING PAGE.
like picture the new word you found. you feel like you’re overusing it, but decide to wait til later to edit it all out.
picture how many times you feel like that word has been used (we always feel like it’s more than it is) before you edit and times that by 3.
that’s how many of hers MADE THE FINAL DRAFT.
she’s got good worldbuilding, she just needed to stick with it and keep track of details.
also ofc we hate her cuz of queerphobia.
For the Tessa Solver AU:
I am VERY normal for this Au. I have so many questions like,
How did JCJenson react when they finally saw Cyn and realized how similar she looked to the Elliott's Heir?
How would Nori, Yeva and the other Solver Hosts react to seeing how far humanity is willing to go to wield the Solver's power.
Does Tessa begin to look more and more like a Drone or does the Solver powers preserve her flesh and organs like Cyn seemed to do in Cannon.
Does Cyn know that Tessa was taken off-world. Can she sense she's alive but not exactly where? Could that be a reason for her allowing the Solver to absolutely destroy Earth when she finds out Tessa isn't there anymore, why she lets it send out Disassembler Drones to the colonies hoping one of them would come back with news of Tessa
I NEED ANSWERS jk take your time mate, I absolutely LOVE this AU
I’m so glad people like my Au
So for the first question I’m still debating how JCJenson got there hands on the Absolute Solver virus, as canon doesn’t really give us an answer. I’ve decided that they extract it from Cyn after the massacre then tries to disassemble her and the other manner drones but as we know that fail. Anyway back on track they’ve seen both Tessa and Cyn and they did notice that they had the same hair style, the scientists don’t think much of it as they know Tessa “played dress up” with her drones and mostly thinks she’s a bit weird for getting so attached to her drones.
At first the other Solver hosts don’t really like Tessa, nothing to do with her personally, they just don’t like humans, for obvious reasons. As they get to know Tessa they grow increasingly disturbed by how far they’re willing to go in the name of science. I should note that the scientists did start off treating Tessa better then the other test subjects but slowly treat her worse and worse, due to a combination of desensitization and Tessa’s growing hostility towards the scientists. I haven’t finalized exactly how I want the core collapse to happen but the scientists cruelty is definitely going to be a turning point.
Tessa will mostly stay the same the only thing I’ve planned for so far is that her iris gets bigger so I have a bigger canvas to work with. I just realized while writing this I never showed how her eyes look.
The yellow glow stays in her iris. When she’s not using anything her eyes are normal but she can basically call up an HUD similar to the drones, that’s the design with normal drone ovals, she uses it more later in the story, the humans treat her horribly anyway might as well have useful info on hand or even pull up a game to play while she’s locked up. The solver symbol shows up same as it does for other solver drones. You can see why her iris being bigger would help but I thought it be weird for her to have them before the start of the story so I just chalk it up to the Absolute Solver changing her looks. I also wanted a unique design as Cynessa/Flesha is just a drone screen with human skin over it and that wouldn’t really work with this AU as she’s still human.
Oh Cyn knows Tessa is being treated horribly and she hates it, she’s aware she’s on copper 9 and in a place called Cabin Fever but not exact location. Cyn definitely wouldn’t have let the Solver destroy earth if Tessa was still on it, as for later in the story, I don’t want to spoil to much but let’s just say the relationship between Cyn and the Solver does not stay the same as in this post.
Please ask more questions if you want, I love rambling about my Au
Detective Hange Zoë (with team Erwin and Levi)
She smokes a pipe like Sherlock Holmes and dresses in a trenchcoat of the similar style. Unlike Sherlock, she wears it in her Hange style of draping it over her shoulders
Saxophone music. Blues. I do not need to elaborate.
There are two newspaper-boy style hats (called cabbie hats specifically): the one for men (it is flat) and one for women (it is puffy). Hange has donned both.
She is perfect for being a spy. She can enter a bar to listen in on conversation in a sleek dress, hair down, and then follow the informant home under a different disguise, dressed in a suit, her hair done as usual, and she would pull off both disguises.
Erwin is part of her team, and he has a very grand selection of golden, bronze, copper, elegant watches. He likes to switch. He and Hange are the brains.
Levi is part of her team, and he isn't good at not looking suspicious or threatening, so he generally works as The Guy who stalks the informant [stealthily] home and murders him. Oddly enough, as the clean freak of the group, he is the one getting his hands dirty.
For a change of pace, Erwin is also comedic relief. The trio may have someone cornered, and Levi may be about to stone the man, but Erwin will still make a lame pun and/or dad joke about the victim being between a rock and a hard place, with a completely straight face that only Levi and Hange can read as amused, and Hange will go bonkers while Levi just despises them both [fondly].
They get exclusive tickets into a Rich People Place, where the target is, but only get their hands on two. Erwin and Hange hide Levi inside one of their enormous trenchcoats (to his dismay).
Hange wears her shiny glasses. Erwin wears a monocle and insists that it looks cool.
When they go to a bar together to celebrate a successful mission, Erwin holds his drink well, Hange is the lightweight, and Levi is boring and orders water (jk).
Erwin has a secret chocolate stash in his trenchcoat's inside pocket. Hange knows but Levi doesn't.
Hange pins various snacks to the insides of his coat so he can whip it open to reveal an array of food to choose from on the go. He somehow manages to keep the wrappers and bags from crinkling lously when he walks.
Levi does the same, but with sponges. No one is sure why and he glares at whoever asks.
Erwin figures out who is behind the trouble, but Hange develops the plan to catch them. This is the contrast of their minds: Erwin analyzes and Hange designs.
Hange has a special selection of lollipops in her coat just for Levi (whether he accepts them or not is for you to decide).
On stealth missions to fancy Rich People Places, they have a whole GRWM style preparation in one bathroom like school girls before prom (it's more professional than that, obviously, totally), and Hange and Levi make very good use of Erwin's hair gel.
Hange fixes Levi's hair to make him look like mini Erwin.
Hange is the one who performs autopsies on dead bodies for further evidence. She learns a lot about different kinds of poisons this way.
They take city buses around rainy streets at night, illuminated by the faint yellow glow of street lights. The three of them sit in comfortable silence in the seats, each reading separate books because it's an aesthetic.
Levi wears his fedora hat (what type of hat is it?) and likes striped coats.
They all go to libraries and search through the city's old newspapers for information, or through dusty books and scrolls to find out what this symbol they keep seeing means, or what relations this man had with that one (this is quickly becoming dark academia)
Hange and Levi team up with each other and make fun of Erwin for his reading material choices when they get on the bus.
If the bus is full, Erwin or Hange will hold onto the bus rail things and Levi holds onto them because they Know Him.
Hange carries a little leather bound notebook in her pockets even off the job, in case she runs into something important.
Pow
Your job is to keep Gotham city safe, but you spend more of your time keeping Catboy aka Jeon Jungkook out of trouble.
Pairing: Jungkook x F! Reader
Rating: 18+
Word count: 1.1k
Genre: Subversion of Batman roles, smut, crack and misandry
Warnings: Sex, pouty JK
For Memes @madbutgloriouspond who took this idea and ran with it and came up with all the best lines including ‘being taken seriously as a man.’ Special mention to Mango @blog-name-idk for encouraging the crack all the way.
Gotham is cast in perpetual twilight to you because of your burden of being her protector.
The villains who seek their own gains stop for no man, even if they look hella sexy in a catsuit.
Jeon Jungkook aka Catboy because Catman didn’t have quite the same naughty ring to it, crosses his arms over his chest and expects you not to be distracted as he talks to you.
You remind yourself to tell him he needs to talk less pouty if he wants anyone to actually listen, but for now you just enjoy the view.
‘They didn’t even stop when I stood in front of them,’ he complains.
You tear your gaze away from his sculpted ass as he slinks around the bat cave and try to concentrate on his words.
‘Did you tell them to stop?’ you ask, undoing your weapon belt and letting it fall to the floor for your trusty manservant Park Jimin to pick up later.
‘I told them!’ Jungkook whines, voice going pitchy like it does when he’s at his most agitated. ‘I threatened them with my claws!’
‘Oh Kookie,’ you sigh. ‘You need to work on your presence, baby girl.’
You unhook your cape and toss it aside carelessly.
‘Will you give me a back rub, kitty?’
‘Don’t call me kitty!’ whinges Jungkook.
‘Ok ok, don’t get testerical,’ you say hastily, resisting the urge to roll your eyes. God, he gets so tetchy sometimes.
Like it’s a problem being so pretty he gets constantly objectified.
Man problems mystify you.
You start peeling off your leather batsuit.
‘Maybe if you want to be taken seriously as a man you should stop stealing jewellery,’ you suggest.
Jungkook goes all red in the face with how worked up he is. You can tell by how he takes a deep breath before he starts speaking that he’s about to go on another one of his meninist tirades.
God, if he wasn’t so pretty you’d break up with him and date Poison Ivy. Now Kim Taehyung’s a man who leans into his menininity.
You need to head this off at the pass before he gets truly worked up and refuses to sleep with you.
‘JK,’ you say, voice low, velvety. ‘C’mere baby.’
He stops talking but doesn’t move, looking at you like he’s considering saying no.
‘You know I respect you as a man, don’t you?’
Jungkook stares at you, wide-eyed, and you know you nearly have him.
‘You’re the strongest man I know, much stronger than me.’
The corner of his pretty mouth curls up slightly.
‘Come and let me sit on your lap, baby,’ you coo.
When he reaches the rather conveniently located lounger you’re womanspreading across, he’s already hard.
You remind yourself to send Hobi a lil something to thank him for the incredible job he did designing Catboy’s fitted latex number.
You ask, ‘can I touch you, baby?’
Jungkook nods, pouts a little.
Men love it when you respect them.
You slip out of the batsuit, enjoying the way his eyes roam over your body wildly, like he can’t decide where he wants to look most.
‘Can you take your suit off for me, doll?’ you ask.
He unzips slowly, tugging the suit down to reveal sculpted shoulders, defined pecs with dusky nipples.
You kiss his chest, tongue flicking over his nipples. He lets out a low moan as you roll one nipple between your fingers whilst sucking the other. His cock twitches under its latex prison.
You help him out of the rest of his suit, until he’s bare, standing in front of you fully erect.
You wrap your hand around his cock and tug him gently down.
He groans as you sit in his lap.
You’re already wet, have been since he folded his arms earlier, creating a cleavage displayed to perfection by the low neckline of his suit.
Another Hobi genius design.
Jungkook moans prettily as you move up and down on his cock. His forehead is sweaty, his hair sticking to it in pretty curls.
He looks wrecked, and you’ve barely started fucking him.
‘I’ve barely touched you,’ you taunt, a little breathless yourself from how rigid and thick his cock feels inside you.
He says nothing, reduced to whimpering and moaning as he helps you move your hips.
You press your fingers against his parted lips, into the wet warmth of his mouth.
‘Suck, baby.’
‘Gonna cum,’ he mumbles around your fingers.
‘Already? You’re such a slut for me, we’ve barely started, baby boy,’ you pant.
Jungkook cries out as he comes, spurting hot streaks of white into your cunt. His pretty moans rise in pitch until he’s so loud you’re glad the batcave is soundproof.
He buries his face between your breasts as his cries subside.
‘Come on,’ you say, pinching his nipple. ‘One more for me, baby.’
Jungkook twitches helplessly inside you, still hard.
‘I can’t!’ he protests.
‘You can,’ you say, reaching between his spread legs to press a finger against his rim.
Jungkook cries out in pleasure as you nudge a knuckle against his rim.
You squeeze his cock, which is already hardening inside you, and Jungkook whines.
‘Gotta,’ he grunts.
He doesn’t finish his sentence, instead rolling on top of you so he can start hammering into you.
His stamina is ridiculous.
You’ve always appreciated how he keeps himself in good shape for you, his figure is as manly as the day you met him trying ineffectually to rob a bank using his manly wiles.
You’d paid the bank manager and the chief of police off to not pursue him.
Robbing banks is really a woman’s job. Men lack the finesse to do it properly.
Jungkook’s breathy moaning snaps you back into the present.
‘Are you close?’ you demand, fingers under his chin.
‘Yes,’ he cries out. ‘Fuck, yes.’
You hold out until you feel him pulsing inside you, his hands tight on your ass.
‘Good boy,’ you say, breathless, ‘that’s good, baby.’
Jungkook presses kisses to your neck as he helps you grind on him, seeking your own pleasure now.
You moan as he bucks his hips, and then you’re coming, wetness seeping from you to coat his cock.
He wraps his arms around you, and you bury your face in his soft hair.
‘Wanna snuggle,’ he says, muffled into your chest.
You sigh.
Men get so clingy after sex sometimes when all you want to do is tap that ass.
He pouts up at you, and your heart softens.
‘Ok, catboy, we can snuggle,’ you say, resigned.
Hopefully he doesn't want to stay the night too.
©hamsterclaw 2023
This is for Memes @madbutgloriouspond who encouraged this crackiness and came up with all the best lines including my favourite line about 'being taken seriously as a man'. Special mention to Mango @blog-name-idk equally for running and encouraging this chaos.
I’m just popping in to “clear” a debate, as i said before it’s exhausting to write long posts but my hands itch to write something anytime i see stuff going on. One of the reasons why it’s always better to be in the “not sure” zone instead of completely denying something that one may not even have knowledge about. Let’s get started shall we?
So Jimin, precious Mimi, beautiful Jimim, my beloved child (he’s older than me but shush) came live yesterday to share his emotions with us about his amazing achievement, his well deserved achievement, the slap on the face of haters who instead of working on making their favs rise to some level they decided to invest time and energy into trying to make other people win just to not only fail but let down their own favs 🤦🏻♀️ Well Jimin said “Fuck all your opps” anyways so
Now i don’t want to focus on the part where you can oh so very clearly hear a “ 빨리가“ at the very beginning (Surprisingly enough this girl actually understands some Korean don’t underestimate her) i wanna be realistic here, while i’ve seen some people wondering if they’ve heard a ppo-ppo sound i honestly don’t think so at all, i’m sticking with the the first one and the lights situation going on too but even that i’m not gonna focus too much on it, and for reference :
Moving on to our main subject which is the gaming chair, or chairs in that case
And as my bestie said and i quote “It doesn’t mean anything yet Jimin grabbed the phone like a hot potato“ i mean chile why would he panic, it’s just a chair right? WRONG!
Just to clarify, for people who may have thought that was JK’s chair from the studio, Jimin’s chair is an Arena and JK’s chair is an Akracing.. With an Arena cushion 👀
Well the point is no it’s not the chair from the studio but does that change the fact that Jimin has a second GAMING chair? No. Well, yes and no, lemme explain.
“It’s just a second chair he could be having one for if friends come over” key word here: IF. You may or may not know that there’s this unspoken rule where, despite having a spare chair or even 10 spare chairs, they don’t go with the setup, they go to a storage room or the garage or wherever you can put it away and take it out when needed, because why tf would there be a second or third chair chilling out there when the possibility of having gamer friends coming over is always questionable.
Speaking of gamer friends, have y’all seen a gamer in real life? they don’t even need to be in the same place everybody plays from home and they chat through their headsets. No matter how rich you are or how much you can afford expensive gaming chairs, a gaming set up is precious to its owner, one just doesn’t mess up with their set up, if you’re alone, you game alone, you put ONE chair. If you do happen to have a spare chair and a gamer friend decides to visit you THEN whip out the chair from where it was stored if you don’t have a spare one, the friend can literally sit anywhere, on the floor for all i know who tf cares.
Now i’ll be sharing this link with y’all so you can check it out yourself, just not to say that i picked out what i wanted or what fit the narrative and left out the rest :
See how gorgeous the set ups are? See how very expensive looking they are? (Well as a matter of fact they ARE expensive) See how neat they are? Notice something? Well actually you’ll notice two things :
1- Almost all of the setups have one chair like this one :
And where you can’t see the chair are tinier desks that can so very obviously fit one chair
2- The three setups that are designed for a “pair” are the following ones :
“Side-by-Side Couple PC Setup“
“His and Hers Wall-Mounted PC Setup“
“Father-Son Star Wars Gaming Room”
Notice something in common there? Basically all the “pair” setups are meant for two or more people who game and are living under the same roof, a couple, siblings, or parents-kids. Mind you even if you do have a partner but they don’t game, your setup will NOT be a “pair” setup, as i said above, those are precious, they’re almost sacred lol there’s an aesthetic to them, there’s a whole architecture going on there, so we’re not messing that up by adding a random second chair for a friend or friends who are barely there.
Do whatever the fuck you want with this information, but i hope that with this added “knowledge” people would stop with their “that’s not a big deal” bullshit, i see you, that one person who posted that lame ass excuse on Twitter. With that being said.. STREAM FACE!!!
#jikook#y'all aren't so sneaky damn lol#Kookmin#minkook#Minggukie#What's new really? Just another Tuesday
Yesterday I said I won't probably talk about this but you know what fuck it I found the BEST PICREWS EVER!!!
Link: M / F
Regency Romance AU feat. my favourite OTPs:
KaixOC
2. TysonxHilary
3. Mimato
4. Taiora
I am still not sure how much I can explain well but for now the gist is that the girls are all childhood friends, despite having different backgrounds/upbringings.
Charlie (OC)'s father is a solicitor for the royal family which puts her family in the nouveau rich category. Sora's father is a very high ranking military official who doesn't spend much time at home. Both Charlie and Sora are very rebellious (considering the time period lol) and do not get along well with their respective mothers at all. Mimi's father belongs to the nobility but with her mother often falling sick, he lets her run free and act as per her wishes very often. Hilary too has a noble background but both her parents pass away at a very young age without proper heirs assigned so the royalty takes back her property and she grows up with a disinterested grandmother caring for her in a bare minimum fashion.
Save for Mimi, the other three girls are set to debut in the same season. Mimi is not very happy about having to wait a whole year in joining her best friends out in society, so she does attempt to manipulate her father into letting her debut early quite a few times but it just so happens that her mother's health is in a good condition on those days and she doesn't end up succeeding.
Charlie doesn't want to get married, but wants to inherit her father's soliciting business which her mother is against. When she's forced to debut, she decides to create a scandal around herself to get herself out of the marriage race and sort of doom her chances of being courted for a long time so she can focus instead on secretly studying to take over her father's work.
Sora is also not very interested in the idea of marriage and she enjoys designing/stitching clothes. But her mother is against the idea of a military officer's daughter running her own boutique, so she's eager to get Sora married off as soon as possible. Not having the will to drag her own family into a fake scandal like Charlie, she instead decides to chop off all her hair right before her presentation in front of the queen, hoping to seem more tomboyish to keep potential suitors at bay.
Hilary thinks her life couldn't possibly be more tragic but her grandmother too passes away a week before the presentation. Mimi's mother is feeling healthy at the time and offers to sponsor her for the day, and although she's dressed the most plainly, the Queen does praise her appearance which puts her in the spotlight. (Sora's mom thinks that if Sora wouldn't have cut her hair she would be the one to receive the praise and gives her shit about it for quite a few days lol) Hilary is unsure whether she's pleased with this because she does get a lot of attention from suitors and marriage would mean finally leaving behind her financial struggles, her romantic nature makes her keep her hopes up for a love match.
And all you need to know about the boys is THAT THEY'RE 1000% CERTIFIED SIMPS FOR THEIR LADIES, NO PERSONALITY OR DEPTH WHATSOEVER JUST KISSING THE GROUND THE GIRLS WALK ON FOREVER.
Jk, jk but not really, putting the plot details under the cut. Just fyi that the last names will be different, more victorian and this will follow the same logic as most of my crossovers where Tyson (Beyblade) and Tai (Digimon) are brothers.
Charlie, Sora and Hilary make their debut in society together with the spotlight being on Hilary instantly, despite of her being completely unprepared to handle it. Charlie is not looking forward to having to go through a bunch of suitors and maybe find the guy she's looking for after so many attempts. Sora just wants to escape whatever plan her mother has hatched up for her, long enough for her father to come back home so he can support her choices.
Kai, a distant relative of the Queen and Prince in line of whatever kingdom, is in town after some time away and is awarded the title of the most eligible bachelor the minute he sets foot in public. He's not happy with all the people swarming him constantly, and is even more disappointed to find that the Queen is planning to set him up with who she thinks is the best debutante this season, Hilary. He spends his time at parties, skirting the corners and hiding in the shadows where he runs into Charlie. When Charlie finds out about the Queen's plan, she knows that Hilary is too overwhelmed to handle a courtship like this, so she makes a proposal to Kai. The two can fake a courtship for the entirety of this season, after which Kai plans to go back to his travels abroad. When he's leaving they can stage a dramatic break up, where Charlie's reputation can be ruined just enough to keep her out of the running for the next few seasons. Although Kai is reluctant at first, but when he sees that Charlie really doesn't care about scandals and such, he agrees, and the two create a shocking ripple by dancing together at the Queen's ball - which dissuades the Queen and also takes the attention off Hilary so that she can finally breathe.
While Hilary is fully aware that the only way for her to secure a future with money in it is for her to find a decent match, when she's chosen as the Queen's "favourite" of the season, she ends up being tied to the centre of the society with no room for imperfection or mistakes. With only a few decent dress to wear to such fashionable events, she knows she has limited opportunity to find a husband. She does appreciate all the men approaching her without any effort on her behalf, but half of those have not read as much as her and the other half are too old for her liking. She is grateful to Charlie for taking the Prince off the list for her, because she could not imagine faking another conversation that night, when the attention moves on to the latest attractive event, she makes her escape to get home and try and figure out just how she would get money to go on attending these parties. On her way out, she bumps into someone, and the other party ends up spilling wine on her only very good dress. Completely overwhelmed by the events of the night, she goes off on the stranger, not knowing his name or title, even if his face feels oddly familiar, and then stomps out in tears.
The next morning, she is visited by the Dowager Viscountess Godsworth, she shares that when she was younger she used to be very close friends with Hilary's mother, and when she noticed Hilary at the Queen's Ball she wanted to share how much she resembled her mother with her. Hilary hosts her for tea, though embarrassed by the state of her rundown lodgings. Lady Godsworth offers to sponsor Hilary for the season, as a gesture towards her late mother but Hilary is stubborn about accepting charity. It seems that the Viscountess is equally unwilling to accept a refusal, so instead she suggests that Hilary provide guidance to her daughter Kari, for a decent fee. She explains that Kari had always been sick since she was a baby and the doctor advised to not let her travel far, so Kari never got a chance to go to finishing school and was very much unprepared to debut next season. Hilary decides that since she would actually be working for the money, and doing something she's good at, she accepts the offer and the following week she arrives at the Godsworth House.
There she is greeted by the eldest son, Tyson, who also happens to be the same man she shouted at a few days ago. Realising it was too late to back out now, she keeps her head down as the Viscountess introduces the two of them, and pretends to meet him for the first time. While he doesn’t call her out on the lie, she notices the smug look on his face when his mother turns away, and figures out that her job won’t be as easy as she assumed. She is introduced to Kari, and the two get along well, years of experience in trying to keep all her friends in line benefits Hilary and she’s able to connect well with the young girl. Her lessons are supervised by the Viscountess but Tyson often crashes them unannounced, poking at her by raising contradictions against everything she says, arguing with her on the more philosophical part of her lessons. Hilary's glad that sweet little Kari is blessed with such a progressive minded brother, but she does not appreciate him butting heads with her and often ends up arguing in support of notions she herself dislikes, always leaving the Godsworth House more huffier and restless than when she arrived.
With the help of Sora, some of Hilary's mothers older dresses are repurposed for her usage and she spends her nights attending parties and events with her friends. She realises that having Kai next to Charlie gives the girls a chance to relax and have fun talking with each other since most people are too nervous to approach them. The few times she does have a conversation with potential suitors, she finds it completely drab in comparison to her arguments with Tyson, she finds herself often hoping to run into him in the evening, outside from his house, where there would be no familial duty or job requirement binding them and they could freely express their true feelings to each other. But to her disappointment, he rarely attends these events, occasionally stopping by to greet important people briefly, spare a dance with his mother and then leaving without even looking in Hilary’s direction.
Meanwhile, the fake courtship is working out well for Charlie, with Kai’s help she’s able to spend her time studying at the palace library under the ruse of spending quality time with her suitor. When her Aunt Nancy (Matt/Yamato’s mom) is visiting the city for a weekend, she overhears a conversation between her parents and her Aunt about an upcoming two week long reprieve at the Stonefield Manor (Ishi (stone) da (field) = Stonefield GEDDIT?). Her mother suggests to Nancy that they should invite Hilary as a potential match for Matt, so Charlie warns her friend beforehand. Hilary makes up a lie about not being able to travel, and instead Charlie has Sora and Mimi tag along with her.
Since a lot of other young boys and girls have joined the party, Mimi being the oldest out of the lot ends up babysitting most of them throughout the two weeks. She can’t complain to Charlie because it took a lot of convincing on her friend’s behalf to let her parents to allow her to travel so she suffers in silence, until she runs into Matt. Although Matt had visited his cousin Charlie in the city often, he never met her friends in person despite hearing about them, so he doesn’t recognise who Mimi is. Seeing this is an opportunity, Mimi lies about her age to get away from all the boring kids and befriends Matt during her stay at his manor. The two are fans of the same composer so they quickly connect over music, spending a lot of their time hiding inside the manor and playing the piano together.
Charlie and Sora are not so lucky in escaping what is required of them at such an event. But since Kai agreed to join her for the reprieve, Charlie loudly declares that Sora will be their chaperone and the three are able to get out of most activities planned by the parents using this strategy. Because they also spend a lot of time avoiding the main areas of the Stonefield manor, they coincidentally never run into Matt and Mimi hanging out together.
When the hunt is planned, Tai shows up to invite Kai to join and meets Sora for the first time. Sora expresses her wish to join the hunt as well, but Tai just laughs it off saying that with Kai joining they’d have enough men as was the custom. Kai, who has been slightly confused about his feelings towards Charlie recently, thinks that if he helps out Sora, Charlie would surely think highly of him. So he pretends to be a little sick, urging Tai to let Sora join the hunt in his place. Tai finds it hard to argue with him, considering the hierarchy, asking Sora to do some target practice and if she performs well, the hunting party would consider letting her join.
Sora, the daughter of a military man who raised her like a son, obviously outshines everyone at the practice and is allowed to accompany the men for the activity. Tai is awestruck and captivated, and after spending time with her that day, he’s obsessed with making her fall for him. Sora is very flattered but she also knows that her mother would turn up her nose at the idea of her marrying the second son so to say. She’s also afraid that marrying into nobility would only lead to more restrictions and duties, stopping her from pursuing her dream of having her own boutique. She tries to avoid all of Tai’s advances, keeping things friendly between them as much as possible, but he’s persistent with his approach throughout.
When everyone is in the country side enjoying the fresh air, Hilary still continues giving lessons to Kari at the Godsworth House. Happy that her schedule is not running as tight with no evening parties happening for the time being. Since the Viscountess accompanied Tai to the reprieve as well, Tyson is stuck supervising the lessons as the ‘head of the household’ and sweet but not so innocent Kari is very happy with this situation. She was quick to catch on to the tension between her tutor and her brother so she spends a lot of time coming up with ways to make them end up in embarrassing situations with each other. When the two weeks are almost coming to an end, Kari insists that the only way for her to know if she’s good with the piano would be to see if people enjoying dancing to her music. Tyson, unable to turn down a request by his little sister, and Hilary, bound by her duty as a tutor, give in to her demand and end up dancing together for the first time, which ignites a lot of feelings in both of them.
The party at the countryside begins to wrap up and Mimi prepares to tell Matt the truth about her not being out in the society, but that’s exactly when he shares that he has decided to join Charlie in the city for the rest of the season. Their conversation is interrupted and Mimi never gets the chance to tell him the truth. Matt ends up in the city later and attends one of the balls where he’s surprised to find Mimi missing. That’s when Charlie tells him about Mimi still being young, which shocks him. Since he’s hurting and angry over the lie, he goes to Mimi’s house and tells her parents about how she lied while she was away, carefully omitting the part that he was the man she spent so much unsupervised time with. Mimi’s parents are angry of course, and they forbid her from leaving the house for the rest of the season.
After a few days when Matt has calmed down, he regrets his actions but when he goes back to Mimi’s house, he’s not allowed to see her. Mimi is also overtaken by the guilt she feels over lying to Matt so shamelessly, and she ends up writing an apology letter where she pours her heart about feeling left out and just wanting to enjoy this period of her life like her friends were. At the end she requests that if he decides to forgive her, she would be happy to show him around the city next season when she is officially out. Charlie is tasked with delivering the letter to Matt, but is unable to hand it over to him directly. Not thinking too much of it, she hands it to her Aunty Nancy instead, who is aware of the situation.
Nancy opens the letter and reads it before Matt comes home. She knows that if Matt read the letter he would shut himself off in the country again for another year, spoiling her plans to get him married, before next season. So she ends up destroying the letter, and eventually the two head back to their manor to receive another set of guests she has invited, that includes an eligible woman she hopes to set Matt up with. Mimi on the other hand thinks that Matt was too arrogant to accept her apology, and though she is heartbroken, she decides to move on, setting her sights on preparing herself to debut as the Queen’s favourite next year so she could pick anyone she wanted as her husband.
***
So this is all I have for now. I have to think about how to tie all the loose ends.
Tai has to win Sora’s parents over and make her see that a life with him would award her more freedom than she could ever dream of. Tyson and Hilary have to put their stubbornness and their obsession with their duties aside to really talk to each other and understand why they are always so drawn to one another. Kai and Charlie need to figure out if their fake courtship is really as easy and fake as they thought it would be, or if the element of pretence is wearing off and real feelings are starting to seep in. Matt and Mimi need to come face to face next season, and see how much they have changed over the time they’ve spent apart.
If I do end up making a coherent ending, I’ll definitely post an update! If you read it till here, I hope this 2.9k worth of idea dumping was worth your time, thanks for sticking around 😆
Kim Namjoon x Im Mae-Hwa 🌸
Unlike most couples, Namjoon and his wife had the baby talk even before they were married, or rather on the day that they ended up becoming engaged to each other. It went all the way back to that day when she’d told him that they needed to “talk” just as things were getting serious and he worried that he’d lost her even before things had become official. Here, he sat with a ring in his pocket while she looked so pale and serious, with her feet rocking constantly under the table, that he was certain she was going to break up with him. He thought that the fame had caught up, the curse of it all was finally going to end up with him losing yet another of his simple joys. Another loss for Kim Namjoon even as RM of BTS peaked. He wanted to speak, to make a last ditch effort to salvage this, to do whatever it took to convince her to change her mind but she wouldn’t allow it, she put a finger on his lips, “Please, don’t. You’re far too much of a smooth talker and I’ll fall for your charm all over again and lose my will to do this. I need to, I have to do this. You don’t understand…” Even as he struggled to fight the words at the tip of his tongue, something in her gaze told him to swallow his pride and listen. Tears glistened in her eyes as she looked at him and said, “I have been hiding something from you. I never wanted to, I wanted to tell you right away but it was never the right moment. It was too soon, then things were going so well that got swept away in the romance of it all and now it’s too late to fix it, but I have to come clean. I know you brought me here to propose to me, I heard you talking to the waiter as I stepped out of the washroom, but don’t. We can’t do this, not until you know what you’re signing up for. Icanthavekidsican’tbeamom.” She said without a single breath between the words, knowing that it was the only way to get them out without them dying in her throat. “I know you want kids, I do too. And I know your parents want them too, I know you’re old enough and you want to settle down more than ever. But… now you see why we can’t? You’d make a great father and I’d want nothing more but to raise children with you, I can’t imagine doing it with anyone else. You want a house full of kids, I’m not even sure I can give you one. So I’d understand if you change your mind, you haven’t even given the ring yet. It’s not too late, think it through.” But to her utter shock, he sighed and smiled like she hadn’t just given him the most devastating news of his life. He reached out to squeeze her hand as he got out of his chair and went down on one knee, pulling the ring out as he said, “It doesn’t matter. I love you. I want to marry you. If there’s anyone I want as my life partner, my best friend, my companion, it’s you. Mother of my children or not, that’s just one of the many roles. We could adopt, try IVF or surrogacy, or we could just not have kids altogether. I’m okay with whatever we decide, just as long as I get to decide with you beside me. That’s my only deal breaker, not this. Never this. So will you, do me the honor of being my wife and grow old with me by your side?” And as tears of joy and relief streamed down her face, she nodded her head off as he slipped the ring on. And on the day they signed their marriage certificate, they also decided to file their paper work for adoption, knowing that it would take it’s own sweet time to come but they were ready. They had a head start to baby planning, afterall. And he’d never given up on the hope that she would be his baby momma. 🌸
Kim Seokjin x Choi Yun-Hee 💐
Jin was on video call from set, as he rejuvenated himself from a busy day at work by watching his sister in law and you play with his nephew & nieces. As the phone got passed around the house like a hot potato with everyone wanting to talk to him, the one person he wanted to speak to the most was busy with the youngest addition to the family. She was putting the littlest one to bed, rocking his cradle with her eyes trained on the rosy cheeked infant and even as Ahreum passed the phone to her, before he could say a word, she shushed him. “Yaaaah! He’s sleeping. Keep it an octave lower.” The same person who had fallen in love with him for his high triple notes and silver voice was now telling him to be quiet. He found it hilariously ironic but followed her lead. How could he not? She had him wrapped around his tiny little pinky, even though it had been 3 years since they had gotten married and way past their supposed honeymoon phase. “Jagi, I know he has my genes and he’s cute and all, but you do remember, I’m world wide handsome right? I have to be back in 2 minutes, spare me a second, wont’ you?” He exclaimed and her cheeks matched the colors of her blush as she turned to him sheepishly and said, “Hi, Jinnie. You’ll always be my number one, you know that! How’s your day going, love? Have you been hydrating? Please take care, it’s been a long day. You look exhausted, when will you be back? What do you think will help you relax? I’ll keep myself free when you return, we’ll do whatever you want.” She bombarded him with questions as he cut her off and retorted, “Whatever I want? Do you promise? Then let’s make a baby tonight.” “Yes, sure.” She replied without even registering what he asked. Until it sank in a moment later. “Wait what?” She asked with a “o” framing her face as he grinned till his ears turned red and replied, “I know we we both wanted to focus on our careers and take things slow so we could enjoy each other’s company but don’t you think it’s time, jagi? Seeing you with him? I don’t think I can wait any longer. And I think hyung and noona are done having kids, if we start now, they’ll be able to grow up together. Won’t that be wonderful?” “You know I always wished I had a sibling, like you and your brother, I think you’re right. The baby fever is at an all time high and usually, I used to hold myself back because it wasn’t the right time, the right place, the right finances, always something or the other. But the way in which my body is reacting to this little bundle of joy, I think it’s time. This a sign, let’s do it.” She affirmed with a nod and he flashed her one of his trademark kisses and ended the call, fervently anticipating what was to come. 💐
Min Yoongi x Kang Deu-Lae 🌼
Min Yoongi & his wife were the kind of couple to plan everything down to the dot. They had a timeline for everything, from first kiss to living in, to getting married & down to the time when they'd start trying for kids. 2 years into their marriage, they'd promised each other. And as expected, as the date drew near, they had already mapped out the changes that were to be made accordingly- work schedules to be cleared, his wife had to stop consuming alcohol, he had to eat healthier & exercise, they wanted the best chance at conceiving. Yoongi carried a bottle of wine, the last one he knew his wife would have before they started officially trying. And she'd called him over to have a meal of his favorites at her restaurant, knowing that his diet would change too. This was a night to let go & mark the end of their honeymoon phase & enter the new era of their married life. As he got near the restaurant with a spring in his step, excited to get some quality time with his wife after a long day at work for both of them, he was surprised to see the number of light's on & cars parked outside. She'd called you after working hours & usually, you both would have the place to yourself but it seemed as if the staff hadn't left yet. To his utter shock, when he opened the door, what he didn't expect to see was you being paraded around the restaurant while the staff lifted you up on their shoulders as you made everyone around drink from a popped bottle of champagne. Everyone seemed to be in high spirits & celebrating that they didn't even realize you had entered.
It was only when his wife made eye contact with him that she quickly instructed her staff to put her down on the ground & dismissed everyone, they scampered away not wanting to bear the brunt of their head chef. They knew that the same jolly person celebrating with them was also capable of being a strict boss in a split second if needed. Yoongi loved that about her, knowing that while you were one of the most kind hearted & positive people in real life, when at work- you took on an alter ego that went hard & didn't compromise in the slightest. It helped him realize that there were others who'd understand the duality he himself faced both as Yoongi, BTS' Suga & Agust D. Although he loved her, that would never change but in this moment- all he could feel was anger & a sense of betrayal. He had no intentions of being the first one to make a move, seeing as she was the one who had ruined their night, not only had she decided to include others in what should've been their night alone, but moreover she had celebrated even without feeling the need to have him there. It was more like she had forgotten all about him, maybe this date wasn't as important as he'd assumed, perhaps she had changed her mind about wanting to start a family with him. He knew that her career was important to her, as was his to him. But if he could drop everything as per their planning & their timeline, couldn't she? It was something they had both agreed to before their marriage, so wasn't he only being fair in asking for that same effort to be reciprocated? As the room emptied out, with just the both of them left gazing at each other from a distance, she felt her legs go weak. They felt like jelly, she wasn't sure whether if it was the fact that she was been lifted around & now the floor didn't feel stable anymore or if it was the alcohol that was messing with her balance or just the way Yoongi was staring at her which caused her lose her mind, but she tripped over her own feet & stumbled forward. Yoongi rushed ahead out of instinct as he grabbed her before she hit the ground, lifting her up & making her sit on a chair. She was drunk, that was so unlike her that he felt another flare of anger but he swept it aside, knowing that she needed him right now & this would be better dealt with at a time when she was sober.
"Here, drink this. You'll feel better. Have you eaten yet?" He gave her a glass of water & noticed her stomach rumbling. He knew only too well how ironic but common it was for chef's to be the ones to be surrounded by food but constantly neglecting their own hunger pangs. He knew how often you worked full shifts without managing to eat yourself, sustaining a kitchen at one of the most popular restaurants in Itaewon wasn't an easy job, after all. He sighed & entered the kitchen himself, looking for food that he could give her, even though he hadn't eaten dinner either. He grabbed a pack of bread sticks with butter & gave them to her, intending to go back to the kitchen & cook them a meal. But her hand caught his wrist, holding him back from going back in, as she whispered,"Yoongs, please don't go. I'm sorry... I can explain." "Y/N, let me go... I need to get some food in you. Some real food! Let me cook us some pasta quickly, & then I'll be back. I'm not going anywhere." "You're mad at me, I can tell. You called me by my name, you only do that when you're upset with me. I'll cook you a meal, I'll make this up to you." She exclaimed as she got up from her chair & felt dizzy a minute later, seeing stars before her eyes as she tried to make it to the kitchen. Yoongi shook his head & took matters into his own hands, quite literally- as he lifted her up in his arms, even as she protested & took her to the kitchen, placing her on the counter top. "Okay? Now you can see that I'm not leaving you? I'm right here, I'm going to cook while you sit there quietly, alright? Please, baby?" He included the last bit for emphasis, knowing that she wouldn't be reassured without it otherwise. As he handed over the bowl of pasta to her, she gave him the first bite & he took it begrudgingly when she added, "You must be hungry too, you always say we shouldn't take our anger out on our food, so please eat with me?" When they'd finished eating, both of them feeling an improvement in their moods with their bellies full, she decided to break the silence by getting straight to the point, knowing that he wouldn't have any patience for her stories. "We know from unofficial sources that we're getting a Michelin star! I know what today means & I had all the plans to focus on that, on us but... you know how huge this is? I just got swept away in..." "Wait.. what? You're now a Michelin star chef? OMG, I'm so proud of you, love." He said immediately, cutting her cut off & catching her off guard. "You are?" She asked, as she pinched herself on the arm, checking if this was a dream or not. He let out a whoop of excitement & did a little dance around the kitchen, as if to show his happiness. "Baby, I know we had plans & yes, I was a little bit agitated but now that I know why... it doesn't matter. None of it matters. I'm so overjoyed for you, I'm proud of you! We can put everything else on hold while you focus on this yeah? Don't worry, I'm on your side, I'll support you in every way you need." Tears glistened in her eyes as she heard him express his love, & she smiled as she reached out to hug him tight & he lifted her through the air, getting her off the table onto the ground. "I appreciate what you just said, what you're offering me is something that I could only dream of. But as kind as you're being, I can't take it. I don't want this to change our timeline, today was an exception. But none of this success matters if I don't have you by my side to celebrate. I want to grow in my career but only if I also get to come home & share my wins with you & our kid... And before you object to what I'm saying, I'm going to quote you- you just said that you'd support me through anything I need- well, this is what I need. So are you in, you did promise you'd be on my side?" She said as she tilted her head & gave him her best puppy eyed look, which she knew would work.
Sure enough, he nodded in the smallest possible way, "I still don't think it's a great idea but we can think it through & if that's what you really want, then I guess we can make it work..." His lips betrayed him as they turned upwards to form a smile when he saw her fist pump into the air as she grinned from ear to ear at his answer. This was a strange turn of events despite all your planning, but if anyone knew of how life can turn out unexpectedly, it was him. And despite all the possible pain & loss he'd been through, he was also a firm believer that good things would come his way too- after all, that's how he'd found BTS, how he'd come across you.🌼
Jung Hoseok x Baek Hae-Baragi 🌻
Hobi was the first of the Bangtan brood to have a kid with his fashion designer, wife who he’d met through his sister-Jiwoo. Geum-hee was the first child in the family and rightfully spoilt with love by everyone. His daughter who’s name meant brightness, had truly brought light into the family with all her Samchuns & Imos doting on her, never leaving her alone for a second. She was pampered in a way that she wouldn’t even sleep without someone rocking her in their arms & as she grew up- she had Jimin’s eldest daughter, Ae-Cha who was the same age as her, alongside to do everything. However, in the recent times with the birth of Jimin’s second daughter, Mi-Cha, their attention had shifted & play time with Ae-Cha had reduced drastically. Even as adults kept her company at all times, she missed having someone younger who could keep up with her speed & interests. And today was no different, as soon as Hobi picked Geum-hee from pre-school, Geum-hee’s slouched & sulked in the back of the her car even as Hobi tried to get her to frown to turn into a smile. Usually singing alongsider her dad in the car, cookie dough ice cream from her favorite parlour, some cuddles from her dad & painting her nails were enough to distract her & make her happy but it had been hours since Hobi had been trying but all in vain. He’d been clinging to her, desperate to not leave her side as she moped around but she took that split second of his distraction to run into her room & close the door behind her. The sound of the slammed door shook both parents, Hobi’s wife widened her eyes at him, wondering what could’ve gone so wrong in her absence. “You try, I’ve done everything possible but nothing. She hasn’t said a word since she got back. I don’t know what’s wrong.” Hobi said as he tried to appear calm & nonchalant but it was obvious in the way that he clenched his jaw & paced around that he was anything but relaxed. The only thing that kept him going was the reassuring smile of his wife as she made her way to her daughter’s room, he trusted her to get through when he couldn’t. She knocked softly on her daughter’s door, only to be answered by the soft sobs that quite frankly broke their hearts. Hobi was one step away from knocking the door down, hearing his daughter’s wails pierce the silence at home. But his wife stopped him, gesturing at him to be patient until she’s tried. Geum-hee’s mother knew her daughter well enough, she saw the flutter of shadows from the cracks beneath the door. She knew that even if her daughter didn’t speak, she was here, she was listening. And so she sat down with her back to the door, hoping that her daughter would do the same on the other side & give her a chance. “It’s okay to cry, sweet girl. I know bad things happen, and it’s better to get it off your chest than to hold it in. I’m sorry you had a rough day, little one. Mommy & daddy have those too… but you know what keeps us going? We know that we’re not alone in it, as long as we’re together, everything will be alright… we have Hope on our side, how could it not?” Hobi admired the way his wife spoke to their daughter like she was her own person, not like a child who didn’t understand nor like an adult that was in a smaller body, but like someone who was young & yet who had her own choices to make & voice to be heard. “That’s the thing, I don’t have anyone. Everyone has someone or the other, mommies & daddies are together, siblings at school are together, I always get left alone.” Their daughter mumbled, as both parents train their ear to the door, to hear her soft words. “But you have us, cutie. You know appa would never leave you alone…” Hobi prattled anxiously but his daughter, hoping she knew that he’s always put her first. It was his wife & his rule that no matter what, Geum-hee had to come first. “But that’s not fair, appa. You shouldn’t have to choose between your girls. At the rollercoaster, you sat with me but even mommy was scared but she was all alone.
That always happens, you always take my side, never mommys.” The color left Hobi’s face when he heard that & realized the message he had been passing onto his daughter, he lip synced a “sorry” to his wife & his face sank into his palms, in regret. His wife quickly tried to repair the situation as she said, “But baby, omma doesn’t mind. Appa always asks omma if she’s okay, & only when I say yes, does he do that. Your appa loves me a lot & he takes care of me, you don’t have to worry.” “I know that but I don’t like you being alone. And sometimes, when you & I have girl’s nights- appa is alone. When we travel, we’re alone in the compartment with the other women, when we shop, he’s never there in our section, he should have a boy to give him company too.” Geum-hee shared & Hobi’s heart melted at the concern in his daughter’s voice for him, he lifted his face from his palms & leans against the door frame, as if willing the door to disappear so he could touch his daughter. “I know dad has his brothers from BTS, but they’re not always here. You both are not always with me. So the best solution is if we get me a brother. That way, everyone has someone- just like Jiwoo Imo & Appa.” She added, her voice getting louder & firmed, as if she was proud at having landed at this solution all by herself. “Is that what would make you, happy? If you had a sibling?” Geum-hee’s mom asked with bated breath & her loud resounding, “YES” made the answer quite clear. It was a split second decision, Hobi & his wife spoke soundlessly as he arched his eyebrow, asking her if she agreed with their daughter’s demands & her shrug as if to say that she had no choice but to do what their daughter asked. They both loved their daughter more than anything & although it was far from the right time to have a kid, they had gone back to using protection & birth control, their careers were in full swing, a 5 year gap wasn’t even ideal, until now they’d been of the opinion that one child was more than enough. But this changed everything, she changed everything. “Baby, if we say yes, will you open the door?” Hobi asked gently & his chest heaved in relief as he heard the click of the lock opening & his daughter put her arms around him & his wife. “Geum-hee, even if we have a baby, it may not be a brother… that’s not something appa & omma can decide, it’s upto luck. Is that okay?” Geum-hee’s mother tried to explain, not wanting there to be any misunderstanding. She knew how big of a decision this was for her family & wasn’t willing to go ahead until she got full clarity & in this case, approval from her daughter. “Does that mean I’ll have a sister? Like Ae-Cha has Mi-cha? That’s okay too!! Daddy will be still be alone but atleast you can give him company while I enjoy with my little sister… or brother. I don’t mind, I’m just excited to be a big sister!” Geum-hee squeeled & her parents smiled warmly at her answer & kissed her senseless, surprisingly happy at the turn of events. 🌻
MASTERLIST
I get home, like I usually do, like I've been doing the past three months since Leslie decided to start some design courses. Both me and Mark were fine with her doing that, she was tired of doing the same thing in the studio and was looking to do something new. I loved that from her. How she was never afraid of testing herself and taking risks, always trying to learn new things.
Ever since she started that course, she'd leave the studio an hour or so earlier, and we'd meet back home, where she'd be waiting for me with a beautiful smile. It was crazy how good changes looked on her: her hair was brighter, her skin looked smooth and her mood boosted.
Today is different though.
Mark said we had no customers left, so he told me to get home earlier because he was the only one that'd be busy that evening.
Something stops me from crossing the door though, my phone ringing in the back pocket of my jeans.
I open my eyes slowly, meeting the darkness in my room and the warmth of my blankets when I'm fully aware of the place I'm in. I roll in bed, insulting myself for having that dream again after so long. I thought I moved on from that, I genuinely thought I wouldn't be having that dream again, but guess I was wrong.
I groan when the phone doesn't stop ringing, and sneak my hand out of the blankets to reach it.
If it's Taehyung, trying to get me to pick me from somewhere else, I'm going to kill him. I don't know what time it is, but I'm going to kill him.
Cocktease
I'm even more confused when I see her nickname on my phone screen, because why is she calling at four in the morning? I bet whatever she needs to say can wait for a more normal time.
—Yeah?
While I wait for her answer, I roll on the bed again, lying my back on the mattress. She's totally silent, I can't even hear her breathing, so I kind of assume she might've called by mistake. I'm getting ready to hang up the call, but her voice stops me.
—What's the penalty if one of us doesn't carry out their part of the deal? —she asks fast.
What?
—Are you fucking serious? —I sigh hard— It's 4 am, what's your fucking problem?
—We never mentioned what could happen. And it's already been a week.
And she thinks about this at four in the morning. She could've asked me that earlier this evening, yet she didn't. She waited for me to get home, and fall asleep to do it. Unless...
—Is this an excuse to make sure I didn't take anyone home after leaving your house?
—No —she rushes to answer—. Listen...
—I'm a man who can keep a promise —I continue either way—. But I can tell you what I did after getting home...
—That's not what I called for —she replies back.
Sure, thing. If that isn't the reason, I can't make up who in their right mind would call just to ask something like that. Either she's crazy or she wants to annoy the fuck out of me. And, at this point, it's probably the two of them.
—I didn't think of anything because we are both grown ups. The moment one of us wants to walk away, it'll be okay —I decide to answer her question—. Why? Do you want to write down some penalties?
—No.
That answer leaves me confused, but I find it funny for some reason. She's contradicting herself and she just doesn't mind.
—Why are you awake so late, huh?
—I couldn't sleep —she doesn't sound convincing at all.
—So, since you couldn't sleep, you decided to wake me up —I sigh, loud enough so she can hear it—. Cocktease, I thought we said we would wave a white flag. It's the first rule.
She goes back to being silent. And, at some point, it kind of scares me thinking about the possibility of Y/n taking what I'm saying seriously. I was annoyed when I woke up, but not now that I'm talking to her.
I'm just playing around.
—Do you have plans for tomorrow? —I dare to ask, breaking the silence.
—No.
—Want to hang out? I'll drive you to work after.
I could've hung up after she said yes, but instead, I keep the conversation going, which doesn't make sense. It just seems like the right thing to do right now, and I don't care enough to look any deeper into it.
—Good thing you said yes, because you need to make up for waking me up with a beer —I chuckle—. You have no idea how hard it'll be for me to get back to sleep now.
—Oh yes, I bet it'll be so hard for you to fall asleep —she scoffs—. I saw it in Seneca, how problematic you are for that. Especially when you fell off the bed —she says with sarcasm.
—So that's what happened? —I palm my forehead— My knees were hurting when I woke up, now I know why. Thank you —I hear her laughing on the other side—. But it's not the same. You've woken me up in the middle of the night, that doesn't mean I don't have a deep sleep. Actually...
I don't know why I'm telling her how Taehyung pierced my eyebrow while I was asleep the night of my graduation after having way too many beers, but hearing her cackle and asking about it makes me think it wasn't a bad idea after all. It just flows naturally with her. It's not a forced conversation, it's just going on because we both want to talk to each other.
Weird, isn't it?
I hear her moving and yawning, before she points up she has never, in her life, gotten drunk. And I make Y/n laugh again when I gasp dramatically.
—I can't believe you.
—Never —she assures me—. I've never tested my limits. So yeah... never.
—I need to change that —I bite my lip.
We keep talking for a few more minutes, until I never hear her speak again. I call her name, and even make some sounds to get her attention, but I get nothing.
She probably fell asleep.
—Good night, cocktease —I whisper, hanging up the phone.
I look up at the ceiling through the darkness, trying to remember the last time I felt this way about talking to someone -without the aim of sleeping with her the next day. I mean, I know I have the whole deal with Y/n, but that's exactly why I don't need to talk with her right now. I could've cut the conversation, I could've ignored her call... But I didn't.
✸ ✸ ✸
—No, you pick him up.
Y/n looks at me nervously, and then looks around. When I first told her to reach out to any of the guys in here, and flirt, I was kidding -not really. I was just trying to piss her off and push her buttons, and I really thought she'd just shrug it off and move on. But, instead, she took my invite and agreed to it, trying to make me pick up the boy she'll flirt with.
She keeps encouraging me to choose, when I actually want to tell her that she doesn't have to do that. So I give in. I look around, trying to find any man that could be easy for her. Most of them are coming with other girls, or other guys, and that could put Y/n in an uncomfortable situation -if she's already struggling at doing it with one, I can't imagine how hard it'll be if she has public witnessing everything. No, I need someone who's alone.
I see one boy sitting on the counter, but he's just scrolling through his phone, nothing interesting. And when I see him dig his index in his nose, I know he can't be the one. Mentally shaking my head, I keep scrolling over the room, finding a guy with short brown hair, looking at his phone. He looks boring, but he's by himself and he has a book on the table -so it could be a good excuse to talk to him first.
Her eyes follow my finger, landing on the guy, just to fall on me back again shortly after. I try to reassure her, and cheer her up. And that seems to be enough for a while. At least until she's aware of what it's about to happen, and turns on her tracks to look at me again with horror. She gets my negative when I shake my hands in the air, and turns on her feet again.
After she finally taps on his shoulder, I swear I can hear her fast breathing and her heart pumping hard against her chest when he turns around. I follow every single movement she makes, and when I see her pointing up somewhere in the table, I think she might've taken the lead and control the situation. But instead of keeping the conversation going, I see the guy giving her a confused look, just to hand her some napkins right after.
—It could've been worse —I try to comfort her when she's back to me.
But she's still upset over what happened, at least it's what it seems by the way she hides her face behind her hands. Huffing and whining every few minutes. I tap on the table, trying to get back her attention.
—I'll give you a demonstration. Pick any girl you want —I encourage her.
Clearly, she goes for the girl who got there with her boyfriend, and that was all over him just five minutes ago. I try to give her the chance to change, but she genuinely wants to see me being rejected.
And that's not gonna happen.
—Hey —I greet the girl, who looks at me confused when I reach her table—. I need your help with something.
—Sure —she frowns, leaving her phone back on the table.
—I came with my girlfriend... No, don't look at her —I stop her, when I see her attempting to move her head towards my table—. She's jealous as fuck, but she's also pissing me off constantly on how I would never be able to pull a girl like you. So could you play along?
—Okay —she isn't frowning anymore, but I can tell she's still confused.
—Laugh and play with your hair —I smile, sitting on the free chair while I laugh along.
I keep talking nonsense, although most of it is me thanking her for helping me out. And it's all fine until I feel my body being lifted and dragged away from the chair, and I bet I've seen my life pass in front of my eyes when the six feet tall man raises his fist at me.
—Who the fuck are you?
—A friend? —I try, but that only makes him groan.
—I was looking for you —I hear her voice, before she tries to get in between us, although her eyes are fixed on me—, I told you selling those bibles around would get you in trouble someday.
—Bibles? —the man that's still holding me asks.
—Yeah —she nods fast—. Poor boy just got out of jail for robbing them, so he's trying to make up for it by helping to sell them. He doesn't realize when he's overstepping boundaries though, don't take him seriously.
As soon as he lets me go, Y/n holds me by my wrist and drags me away from there, back to our table. I look at her intensely, thinking she would apologize. She never does. She only looks away, at any point in the bar but me.
—You knew she was with her boyfriend.
—What? No —Y/n looks at me with rounded eyes, trying to act shocked by my accusation.
Thank god she didn't try to be an actress.
—It's funny —I look at her, while supporting both of my elbows on the table—. You were perfect at pulling a big story to save me from getting my nose broken, yet you are unable to lie to me with a short answer.
—Think whatever you want of me.
The way she lifts her chin and looks away again is so cute, it makes me smile and giggle unconsciously.
—By the way —I try to get her attention—, that story? How did you come up with it?
—When you have strict parents, you learn how to lie and come up with the dumbest, not totally believable, excuses —she shrugs.
I guess that makes sense.
Okay SIT DOWN and I shall tell you why you should absolutely play The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince --
First of all, the art style. This game is GORGEOUS, with a children's storybook aesthetic and soft colours. The character design is cute, too! And surprisingly full of teeth! This is a game about monsters and their relationship with humanity, so even the cutest of designs are made to eat human flesh!
Second of all, the music. This game's soundtrack is lovely, filled with lullaby-esque songs and enhances the whole storybook feel of it. I can only count one track that got a bit grating on me (and even then, I still really like it), but for a game whose major plot point involves a wolf's beautiful voice, yeah this soundtrack really brings it!!
Third of all, the gameplay. It's a very simple side scroller platformer! Even someone with bad reflexes (like me) can make it through the tougher sections of this game! The puzzles are fairly simple as well, excluding one notable exception. Most of the time you are directing your partner through the levels and killing other monsters in your way and that's all this game really needs to do!
Also, there is a button to hold your partner's hand. And your player character smiles when you're holding your partner's hand. Never before has gaming had a more perfect feature included. (/jk) (only kinda)
Finally and most importantly, the story! Hoo boy, the story...
You are a wolf, a monster who lures her meals in with her beautiful voice. Every night, you sing your song from atop a hill and wait for your meal to draw in close. On this particular night, it's a human who is drawn in by your singing.
Strange, you think. But human meat is delicious, and so you prepare to eat this meal.
But then he starts clapping.
No one has ever clapped for your performance before. You're charmed by this. And so you decide not to eat him, to allow him to continue listening to your performances each night.
Through a cruel twist of fate, however, his eyes get gouged out. And so you run to the Witch of the forest to see if she can help you save your human friend.
And that's it! You, the Wolf, trying to lead your human friend to the Witch in order to restore his eyesight! There are some twists and turns here and there, but it is no joke when I tell you this story still pulls at my heartstrings when I think about it for too long. I adore the Wolf girl and her bid to save her human friend. She has to confront her fellow monsters over her desire to help him rather than eat him, has to confront her own claws in her friend's troubles, and along the way she realises she's willing to give up everything for the sake of someone who should be prey to her, just because he applauded her singing and told her she had a lovely voice.
Every cutscene is read aloud in a beautiful voice (though the audio only comes in Japanese) with each character coming through as if it's a simple bedtime story. It's a very cute detail, one I love, and again, adds to the whole feel of this being a children's tale.
Also the Wolf's design is PEAK. Four ears and four eyes AND hoof feet!!! I love her so much, she's so shaped and beautiful!!
Anyway. Please play this game. It's beautiful and tugs at my heartstrings and I love it so so much.
#the liar princess and the blind prince#Liar Princess Blind Prince#Essay time for Momo#Game review#Video game review#Spoiler free#!!#pls pls pls pls play this game#It's so cute and good and HEARTBREAKING#I will keep crying at my ps4 theme because of it....#Momo writes stuff
I'm gonna combust if I don't get this out
Totk rant underneath
I know I did review and I put a small rant in it but I got more shit to say and yes I might be repeating things because I have the need to point shit out
The writing is bad a lot of characters I loved in botw have turned into stale biscuits
I can't take the fact that the game goes against its own lore multiple times
"to become a dragon is to lose oneself" K. why tf was Ganondorf still fighting us in dragon form.
Also Zelda knowing when to join the fight or the fact that she cries her memories into the ground and the fact that she's perfectly fine at the end. Zero repercussion
Link your arm is fucked beyond repair... jk lol it's fine
Everyone talks about the shrines and sheika towers but no one talks about the giant sheika pillars that surrounded Hyrule castle I miss them :(
Link would you please react to something besides food and horse points I know you can, especially in a place where you were completely alone
Nope I'm not accepting that the ancient hero is part Zonai cause 2 things. there were only two zonai left that I don't see Mineru having kids and wouldn't that mean that hero and princess would be related or why isn't it just the princess. That is NOT A ZONAI WTF IS THAT IT IT LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THE TAPESTRY mf got blue skin and clearly wearing boots in the pic and I know that Hyrule can be racist but if the zonai were sooo important why would they make him look like a hylian(gerudo?) it really just feels like they just put Zonai stuff everywhere without actually thinking
I like the idea that the three dragons were once Zonai and went through with swallowing secret stones but shouldn't they have three eyes? Idk that's just a nitpick In fact, who even made the secret stones we get no explanation why do they do that.
another nitpick I have is that they should not be speaking the same langue in the past. Zelda shouldn't be able to understand a word of what they're saying
If Zelda gets her light magic from Rauru and time from Sonia why in botw does the triforce appear when she seals Calamity Ganon Sonia is the one with a triforce tattoo and yet they don't even talk about the triforce once in this game and correct me if I'm wrong but don't Sonia and Rauru not know what the master sword is
This game is trying way to hard to convince me that the Zonai were good people. An entire race of good people doesn't die out like that. They also don't have robots that kill everything on site. or doors that drain the life out of people. Or not correct anyone when they are called gods. Or have mining facilities everywhere underground. Or have a gerudo cemetery near all their underground shit
I want this game to stop trying to be Ocarina of Time it's not working.
Why are the labyrinths different especially the one that had all the guardians down there. All of them are gone. Who even went there to get them was it Link. The Zonai researcher makes it seem their the first one to ever go there
I usually see this on twitter saying that the missing sheika tech was stated to be decommissioned in Purah's diaries. Except what the FUCK are you talking about like is it different in other languages or are twitter people just saw one person say it and decide to spread it around. Please ya gotta tell me I know how bad American Nintendo translates their games
also about the shrine of resurrection I see a lot of people say that the yiga took it down. but uh... the whole reason the yiga started is cause one of the old kings banded their tech shouldn't they y'know use some of it and at least fuse it in some designs I know they can
As much as I love them I don't think the yiga really fit in this since everything sheika related got pushed off a cliff
I love the depths but there really isn't much there Like I feel like there should be some sheika stuff down there all destroyed and stuff. cause a lot of chasms are where old sheika shrines were wouldn't it be cool to go down there and see an old sheika shrine in ruins
demon king??? Secret stone????
Idk why I seem to be the only one who wants to know where the actual thunder helm is. I looked high and low for it. I even wore the replica to see if I'd get a reaction and I did but it's only for the speech bubbles above the gerudo's heads Most of them being "that helm..." one being "I want a helm!" Even RIJU with the fucking "That helm..." GIRL WHERE IS THE ACTUAL ONE. This game makes me confused about which side quests are apparently actually canon. Did Link lose it?? Why would they react like that?
Yunobo I love you please please please use your shield why are you not using it
Yunobo why won't you question why Zelda gave you a mask that possessed you please my baby boy don't let people treat you like a doormat be mad you are allowed to be mad that you got possessed
I will never not be mad they sidelined Teba. I didn't spend all those years convincing my friends that Teba was a crazy bastard cause they don't talk to npc's like I do and then proven right in Age of Calamity for him to not even get a redesign. Hell, he's fucking bored as an elder and he doesn't say the injury he got while fighting Medoh was lethal he shouldn't be standing if it was. In botw his wife, best friend, and elder all talk about how Teba acts without thinking and has been like that since a child. Who are you what have you done to my crazy speaks his mind bastard. It's hard being one of so few Teba simps but hey at least I'm not a Sidon simp who had to go through with his marriage.
Saki didn't even want Tulin to be a warrior why is she so ok with him being a Sage
Once again cause this pisses me off the most. In her diary Zelda says that Link follows her everywhere in there attempt to rebuild Hyrule. Everyone and their mothers knows Zelda she's the princess. But they don't recognize Link..? Does she not talk about him to them. Strange since she was so happy to share about him with her ancestors. They should know him he carries the fucking master sword and is always with Zelda. Hell I believe that they live in the same house but I guess Link's not important to them. Even though he's the reason that Zelda was able to seal away the calamity away.
Why does all of Hyrule just accept she's the princess? You guys haven't served under a monarchy in 100 years. You guys are so skeptical of Link but not her... and you're not gonna question anything she does. Even if it seems evil cause yeah that was a plot point in game that was completely dropped. the evil zelda thing could have been great. Get people questioning shit but you know whatever I guess
I don't know how true it is but I saw someone on twitter say that botw and totk take place in different universes (not from the timeline who cares about that but from each other) as stated on an official Nintendo site, even showed a picture, but it was in Japanese so I wanted to try and find this website cause it's easy to be fooled but couldn't cause once again it's Japanese I can't understand Japanese and I don't remember where that tweet was. And at this point I am going to believe that proof or not cause what is this story I know Nintendo is gameplay over story but I have never been upset at a plot like this before.
#I want this game out of my brain#You are not good enough for my brain and I don't want you near it ever again End Of Story#Totk:... So why don't you give me one mor-#Now that I got this out of my system I should be ok#sigh#Anyways *does an anime girl pose* I'm gonna go play Pikmin#totk#totk rant#tears of the kingdom#zelda#Snix talks
So You’re Getting Bullied By Leftists and Trans People for Wanting to Revisit Your Childhood: A Primer on Navigating the Complex Emotions Surrounding the New HP Game and How To Decide For Yourself if it’s Worth Buying and Playing
I’m writing this because my brother keeps getting messages from people who are getting bullied over wanting to play the new HP game and it’s making them less sympathetic to our cause. This sucks, but I don’t feel I can tell off my fellow LGBT and Jewish friends for being angry. So to you, dear reader who is feeling alienated and abused by us, I wish to offer an olive branch and a way to see through our anger to our actual point, and why we’re asking you not to engage with the game.
First, dispel the notion that you’re going to be pirating this game. It features one of the strongest versions of Denuvo yet, which can only be cracked by one person who calls herself Empress (and is herself pretty wildly transphobic), and she promised to crack it in 10 days. If you want to play it for free before February 20th, you’re SOL, and that’s if she cracks it as promised. It is a very real possibility that this will never be crackable. More than likely, if you want to experience this game, you’ll need to either watch a Twitch streamer or YouTuber play it, wait a month to purchase a used copy, or purchase it new.
One of the main talking points about this game is that buying it gives money to original HP author JK Rowling, and this is true! She receives royalties for everything WB does with the Wizarding World, which is the current official franchise name. She has been spending a lot of money on lobbying politicians in the UK to dismantle the NHS’s transgender care programs. She claims that this is because she’s trying to prevent men from getting placed in women-only jails where they rape their fellow inmates, and I see this get parroted a lot, but even if it was only about that, it’s still a massive transphobic dogwhistle.
Side bar: I’m gonna be talking about dogwhistles a lot. I’m gonna explain what those are real quick because frankly I think a lot of why we aren’t getting our message across is baked into the nature of dogwhistles. See, dogwhistles are a method of talking in code where members of an in-group (and people opposed to the in-group who study them) know what a phrase really means, but it has plausible deniability to anyone not familiar with the lingo. Common dogwhistles are things like “we’re just trying to keep men out of women’s prisons” (which is a wink to other transphobes about trans women not actually being women in their eyes), “I’m just concerned about the influence of the Hollywood elite” (”all of your media is being controlled by rich and powerful Jews with a secret agenda”) and code numbers like putting 1488 in their usernames. It feels crazy to type out or read because they’re by design meant to make you feel crazy for noticing them. It’s a bit of psychological warfare. If as we get through this you feel like some of the things I’m telling you about JK’s beliefs or the contents of the game are too crazy to be true, please come back to this paragraph and remember that they want you to doubt us when we ask you not to the play the game for X reason.
Anyways, back to the money issue: one defense I see a lot is that JK already has a ridiculous fortune and buying the game is a drop in the bucket compared to what she’s already made. Frankly, you’re not wrong. If the movies had never been made JK still would’ve been set for life and able to go on her little crusade against trans people because the books alone made her a multimillionaire. With the right investment profile she would easily be at the level of wealth she’s at now without any of the other Wizarding World properties getting published. Toss in the movies, the theme park, the merchandising empire and the game really does become a drop in the bucket. But, your money is still going to her. You know what she spends it on. Even if she managed to set up a veritable perpetual money maker, the royalties from what you spend on the game go directly to someone who is spending a lot of money on making sure trans people in the UK are barred from transitioning. Is that something you can live with?
Some people have decided they can live with that. Others are donating the same cost of the game to orgs like Trevor Project to offset the impact of the royalties Rowling will get. If that’s the route you choose to go, realize that your trans friends will probably still be pretty upset with you. It calls to mind the Catholic concept of indulgences, where one could commit all manor of crimes but with a simple donation to the right priest still get into heaven. That’s harsh, I know, but we make the comparison because it genuinely feels like our charities are being used just to offset the guilt of buying the game instead of being donated to because people actually want to help us. That hurts. It’s hard to articulate exactly why that hurts so bad, but it does. Your friends are lashing out and bullying you because of real pain. And what you experience as a result of that bullying is real pain too. But consider the source. Walk it back to its origin point. When someone has been fighting for their very life, and they ask you not to spend money on the game or watch streams of it, and you try to find a way to do it anyways after they’ve illustrated the very real harm your dollar causes, and you feel hurt when they lash out at you or unfriend you, do you stop to think of the pain they were in first? This is your chance to do so.
This part is hard, I know that intimately. Again, I’m writing this post because my brother is hurting, because people who want to play the game are reaching out to him and expressing their pain. We are all hurting over this in various ways for various reasons. I know how hard it is to cut something off that was a tremendous part of your life because I had to cut this out too. It wasn’t easy. You can read my other post on this topic to see how big of a fan I was.
Which leads me to streaming. I have very bad news for you. We’ve hit a point in media where the amount of money people collectively make off of a game is not just from sales. You see, there’s a barely hidden mechanic in the stock market that rewards people for gambling on the success of a franchise, and success is not just raw sales numbers. Piracy, streams on twitch, number of concurrent players and viewers, and social media engagement all play a part. I’m benefiting those guys right now because I’m posting about the game on social media! It doesn’t matter that my post is negative, because the attention I’m giving it is part of the commodity being sold. It’s not just about the game anymore, it’s about the brand. The more popular a series is, the more the value of the stock owned by shareholders increases. The more that value increases, the more the shareholder’s portfolio is worth, which is more leverage to use against high dollar loans, which the shareholders then use to buy yachts and houses or even use to purchase stocks and futures for another company or commodity, and then pay the loan off by selling off lower value stocks. It becomes an oroboros of money, a juggernaut fueled by speculation and gambling and hashtags. I’m gonna say this right now: it’s already too late. If you want to watch someone play the game, you can do that and have a clean conscious. We’re on day 2 of the proper release and day 5 of it being streamed by various people on Twitch. The game is already second only to Elden Ring in stream numbers. If I’d written this a week ago I would’ve expounded upon how giving this game any attention just signals to WB that making more Wizarding World content is good even if you didn’t personally give WB and JK money, but the cat is out of the damn bag. This is also how a lot of us leftists are getting info about the game so we can talk about it more intelligently, so it would be a little hypocritical to tell you not to. Go nuts.
Except, maybe don’t. Here’s the final part of my essay begging you not to play or watch this game even as the bullying makes you want to play it more. We have spent a lot of time talking about trans people for a very good reason, but frankly they aren’t the elephant in the room. We need to talk about antisemetism, cognitohazards, and how choosing to consume content with an obvious bias can slant you unconsciously to that bias. Now, I am not saying that playing the game makes you an antisemite! Again, I’m not here to bully you and that would be bullying. I’m just here to help you see through the bullying. But, when we engage with such content, it does form a little bit of bias in our heads if we aren’t careful to examine and undermine that. If you continue to consume content with that bias, it cements itself further. Eventually, if you never consume content with the opposite bias, you will find yourself believing what wormed into your subconsciousness way back at the start. This is how the so-called Alt Right Pipeline works. For more information about that I would ask that you go watch Innuendo Studios’ “The Alt Right Playbook”. He’s much nicer than me and the videos clearly demonstrate the effect.
This game is meant to be part of the alt right pipeline. The original director, Troy Leavitt, runs a youtube channel that promotes alt right content meant to funnel viewers deeper into the pipeline. He stepped down from the game but not after the president of WB Games stated that he was fine with employees like Leavitt posting whatever they want to their personal social media, a milquetoast endorsement of Leavitt’s influence on the game’s antisemetism. Lest you think that Leavitt leaving the game was the end of the problems, voice actor Greg Ellis, who voices 12 of the characters in the game, is an antifeminist who’s created revenge porn of an ex, something JK is actually strongly opposed to, yet she thanked him for his work on the game. Other employees who worked on the game to the bitter end have confirmed that the plot of the game didn’t change after Leavitt left.
One final sidebar: this game is way more antisemetic than what JK wrote originally. I know a lot of people talk about JK’s antisemetism in the original books, and it is bad, but the goblins are little more than set dressing for most of the books, only becoming plot relevant a couple of times across tens of thousands of pages. Mostly she pulls from the original goblin stereotypes of the early 1900s that every other property from DnD to WoW was pulling from, being hooked noses, a penchant for banking, a very insular community, abrasive behavior to outsiders and being very protective of things they made. There’s a lot of plausible deniability in what JK wrote, which has made it very hard for Jews to speak up about the problems.
This game launches plausible deniability out the window. I’m going to copy and paste some things from my last post on the topic, and this will spoil parts of the game, but if you’ve humored me this far I think you’ll understand why I need to.
“This game presents to you a fantasy race based on antisemetic caricatures and gives the fantasy race a number of real-world antisemetic stereotypes like blood libel, greedy banking, and collaborating with their own persecutors to cause a Holocaust. We currently live in a world where a large number of people are convinced that a secret Jewish elite is conspiring to use COVID vaccines to sterilize white people so they will cease to exist in a generation. The game has its fantasy Jews collaborating with a dark wizard to wipe out the wizarding population. You can choose to join them, or you can choose to put down the rebellion. The game allows you to collect a shofar as a trophy. Joanne didn't have anything to do with this and the game is actually on a special noncanon license where WB Games can ignore or add whatever they want to Joanne's worldbuilding, and they added that goblins use shofars. And you can collect it. As a trophy.“ Further, the final boss no matter which route you go down is the goblin leader of the rebellion. Whether you’re a good wizard putting down the rebellion or a bad one helping it, you have to kill the guy who organized the whole thing. Shofars are an important Jewish instrument used in many ceremonies from synagogue services on Rosh Hashanah and at the end of Yom Kippur to every weekday morning in the month of Elul running up to Rosh Hashanah. and they look like this:
And here’s the in-game screenshot, with a little bit of extra commentary:
This is probably the single BIGGEST dogwhistle in the game. You could even call it a dogshofar it’s so loud. You wouldn’t recognize this unless you were either Jewish/very steeped in Jewish culture or if you were an antisemite. Remember what I said about psychological warfare? This is that.
Also, here’s a good article on blood libel: https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/article/blood-libel I actually think blood libel was present in the original books, but it gets way amped up in this game, with the goblins genuinely kidnapping and killing wizard children, just like the antisemetic stereotype. A lot of people don’t know what blood libel even is so please read about it.
Again, playing this game by itself does not make you antisemetic. But if you play it and then go on to consume other media with these antisemetic stereotypes, you are getting primed to become more antisemetic, and to slide down the pipeline. You have to ask yourself, is playing the game really worth that? Do you have the fortitude to play it or watch someone else play it and stay an ally to Jewish people against the current onslaught of antisemetism? And if you do have that fortitude, then why do you want to play this game? Is it just so you can see Hogwarts again, is it to soothe the part of your soul that needs nostalgia in troubling times, and is there other ways you can do that? Is this a cultural moment that you really need to participate in, or can you sit this one out and support the people asking you to not engage for all the reasons I’ve listed above?
I can’t answer that question for you. I can’t stop the people bullying you. I can’t stop myself from feeling disappointed when friends I have engage with the game even after I’ve explained myself a dozen times. I just know that I have a responsibility to keep explaining this, and hope you can see why I’ve written this massive essay. Please, if I can sway you in any way, don’t buy the game. If you absolutely must see it with your own eyes, watch someone play it. But don’t give money to WB and JK for this.
🎀 🌸 💞
for your top 2 favorite muses 😘
Ask meme is here
🎀—put a bow on it! a headcanon about an almost trademark accessory my muse wears, and why they wear it.
Aman
prosthetics cause he needs them (jk but definitely that's something he'd say to a question like this)
Religious mala necklace! I have headcanons about Sinnoh religion post diamond and pearl clan where it centers mostly on the sinnoh trio Arceus, Dialga, and Palkia. The necklace that Aman wears is worn by adult members who go through a coming of age ceremony of sorts (like a bar mitzvah) and promise to honor Dialga's time, make use of Palkia's space, and treat all of Arceus' creations well. He keeps it under his shirt most of the time.
Pecha
Her Pecha berry bag! She's very proud of it since she made it herself. It's also been like the constant accessory I've depicted her with since even her beta design. I just think it's super cute and I wish I had one myself!
🌸— picking flowers! for a headcanon about a time my muse went out of their way to pick and then give someone flowers, who was it and why?
Aman
Hasn't picked flowers in the wild to give to someone ever since he was a little kid in sinnoh. It was cherry blossom season and he picked a couple petals from the ground that were pretty and put them on top of his mother's head and she smiled brightly at him. It's a precious memory for him.
Pecha
Used to pick flowers for her mom but her mom never liked them. Then she would pick flowers for her dad and he always liked them so she kept doing that. If it was a type of flower you can eat, like dandelions, he'd show Pecha how to eat them. (usually by popping them into his mouth immediately which made her scream then laugh)
Mostly, she picks flowers for herself. Either she brings them home to put in a little vase or she does the whole "they love me, they love me not" fortune with them.
💞— you stole my heart! for a romantic headcanon from my muses past, or even potentially from their present.
Aman
Actually hasn't had serious relationships? Mostly flings or pretend relationships on missions. Doesn't mean that he doesn't want a long term partner, though! He just has been busy with work...
Had a small thing with a fellow agent at one point, but it was unprofessional and could get them both fired so they cut it off. Closest thing to a serious relationship for Aman, though.
Pecha
Has had a couple of romantic relationships in her past other than the plentiful crushes she's had on various people from various regions. Her first real girlfriend was Katy (the bug type gym leader in Paldea) back when they both went to Naranja-Uva. They had a very lovey dovey, cute first relationship kind of love. They broke up because Pecha was going back to Unova and their goals just didn't match up. They still update each other on life every now and then.
Pecha went on different dates with different people for a while before she met Chandler. The guy was bad news but Pecha wasn't very good at spotting red flags. Initially, he was very loving and caring, but he turned sour when Pecha moved in with him. He believed firmly in Team Plasma rhetoric and pressured Pecha to release her Pokemon too. The anxiety and insecurity this cased for Pecha ended up making her fail at being a gym leader, which has been her life long dream. After a small, moral boosting talk with a depot agent on her way home, she decided to call things off.
March 9, 2023
I reported to the office last Thursday. Supposedly, the entire design team would've had our RTO that day but it was cancelled due to the transport strike.
But... I had documents I needed to submit, and I was confident that I wouldn’t have much trouble going to our office since I only ride buses and the MRT to get there. And I knew that Annie would be there too since she works at the office every week.
Anyway. At lunch, Annie had some Tteok-bokki. I bought a Chinese style fried chicken lauriat from Chow King.
While eating, we wondered why the fried chicken was called Chinese style—she didn’t know why either and she’s Chinese. And when I took a bite of the chicken, I kinda tasted a hint of that spice I commonly encountered during our trip to Taiwan. Annie tried to guess what it could be but I couldn’t pinpoint the taste—maybe I need to go back to Taiwan to distinguish it.
I also tried Annie’s Tteok-bokki, which she complained was too spicy for her, so she slightly begged for me to finish it with her.
Before our shift ended, we spontaneously decided to have dinner together with JK—he lives nearby. So we met up and went to Ramen Keisuke Tori King.
Annie ordered Tantanmen, JK ordered Tsukumen, and I ordered the Tori King Ramen with flavored egg.
For the second time today, Annie’s meal was too spicy for her.
And she wasn’t lying. I mean… I do have a slight tolerance on spicy food—I always like eating the siling haba on the dishes I cook—but that ramen was… how do I say it? It’d be hard for me to finish it quickly, but I could handle it. And it would take too much effort for me.
I thought this was just a fun and spontaneous day to blog about.
