ekko looks for powder in the color blue. the sky, the water, hair, and eyes. blue blooms in the flowers near his tree and weaves through the streets of zaun, leaving trails for him to follow, leading him to something that no longer exists.

ekko looks for powder in light. it emanates from fire and spreads throughout zaun in the night. it's in the fixtures that decorate the streets, and it cascades down onto ekko's hideout, illuminating the mural that commemorates what has been lost. light reminds him of her. her bright smile and her blinding beauty. it revives the past they shared before tragedy struck, of that unforgettable night where they danced under the stars, of that kiss on the ledge...it's an everlasting reminder of his deepest affection.

ekko looks for powder in the gadgets he possesses. he searches for traces of her in the trinkets he collects, tinkering away to create new ones. inventions are where he looks the hardest, reminding himself of the days they spent working on innovative projects together. he thinks of her genius, her drive, and her madness in the craft. the memories bring a comforting smile to his face, which is a rare sight these days.

ekko looks for powder in time, lamenting how much they used to have together. there's a cruel irony in "the boy who shattered time" nickname. he was unable to spend the time he wanted with her, he couldn't shatter time enough to fit his needs. he enjoyed what they spent together, but it was too little. he could rewind time over and over and over again, but he still wouldn't get enough of her. his love for powder is timeless.

ekko looks for powder in his title: the boy savior. yet another cruel irony. he saved the entire world, ensuring the survival of many. in fact, he's spent his whole life saving people. he's always sacrificing his own needs for others as he leads a life of unbridled altruism. in a way, he's making up for being unable to save powder from jinx and silco. the boy savior, capable of rescuing anyone and everyone, except for the love of his life.

ekko looks for powder in the new era of zaun. sevika leading in the council, children running in the streets in glee rather than fear, the people breathing fresh air-it was everything they ever dreamed of. if only she was around to see it. ekko searches for the murals dedicated to her, seeks out the remnants of her hideout, scouts for anyone with leftover stories of her to tell. he observes the elated spirits of the city and bears the pain deep within his smile, reminding him of what could have been.

ekko looks for powder physically. it's not enough to just remember her. he needs to hug her, hold her close, and never let her go. he needs to hear her voice again, to invent with her again, to dance with her again, he just needs her to be here again. powder's absence is impossible to ignore, and ekko's tired of acknowledging it. he wants to be selfishly in love with her, but he can't. the world needed a savior, ekko answered the call.

ekko never stops looking for powder. she's in his head, in his heart, in his memories, in his home-no place is without her image. in his mind, powder's words echo promises of the past, not knowing that they'd be broken in the future. he searches for her in the people of zaun, hoping for the day when someone's face matches the one he craves to see so desperately. his search is endless, hopelessly devoted to a ghost of his past.

ekko finds powder in the hand that extends to him from a large white blimp. blue and pink nails decorate the pale skin covering it, confirming who stands before him. he looks at her bright smile, her pink eyes, the blue hair that grew back to the tops of her shoulders, the beautiful face he yearns to get lost in. he takes her in, processing everything he can see, praying that this isn't some horrible dream or hallucination.

ekko finds powder in the hug that they share, the hands that he holds, and in the lips that kiss him. ekko finds powder in the promises of adventure, in the conversations about their post-war lives, and in the apologies for everything. ekko finds powder.

powder and ekko find each other in love, in the reunion with their surviving friends and family, in the celebrations of a new zaun. they find each other on the dance floor once again, but this time, in the right universe. they bask in each other's arms, refusing to ever let go.

ekko finally finds powder, promising to never lose her again.

a/n: hi! i wanted to give ekko the ending he deserves because he's my fav character and deserves the whole world. timebomb as a couple mean so much to me, so i wanted to write a little story about their reunion after the finale of season 2. i need them together!! i also just adore ekko and powder, and that scene of them dancing in the alt universe was insanely well done. i hope you enjoyed my work, and thank you for reading! any tips of improving my writing or general thoughts on the fic would be greatly appreciated. thank you for your time <3

I'm gonna be so serious, y'all are remembering POWDER and Ekko and not JINX and Ekko when screaming about how much you "wanted Timebomb endgame over Caitvi"

shoving JINX in a relationship with her current mental state is not a good writing choice whatsoever, because Ekko literally had to keep rewinding time because she kept trying to kill herself. If Anything, That relationship would be rushed and fanservice because they would have jumped the gun in 2 episodes vs the 2 seasons it took for Caitvi and showing their ups and downs throughout their whole relationship.

The alternate universe works because Powder doesn't become Jinx and the two don't separate, unlike this universe where the two have been at odds for 7 years and almost kill each other back in Ep 7 of S1.

"But Cait never said sorry!" she didn't really have to, because Vi never stopped being in love with the girl that she Knows Cait is at heart, the Cocktail Molotov scene in Act 2 makes that VERY apparent. Cait saying that she was waiting for Vi to recover to address Jinx is the start of it because Act 1 Cait wouldn't have even Considered doing that, because she was so gung-ho about putting a bullet into Jinx that she Demanded Vi move out of the way for her to do so. She holds herself accountable with the mistakes she's made ("We can't erase our mistakes. None of us." that wasn't just a line targeted at Jinx to prove a point, there's deeper meaning behind it), and moving the guards out of the cell proving that she trusts Vi and her judgment on Jinx is that apology, Caitlyn has always been an "acts of service" kinda person over being a "verbal" kinda person; it's all over the place in S1 but Especially here in S2. But even after she takes Vi's shirt off, you could tell by her eyes and body language that she was most likely going to stop herself again to apologize for hitting her because the wound was in the same spot she initially hit, which was part of the lead up for This wound to even happen, but Vi's the one that just pulls her back in instead.

I'm also gonna add on that Vi thinks she made the wrong choice in trusting Jinx and thinking Jinx's changed because Jinx locked her in the cell and ran away again. So why in the Hell would Vi go chasing after her Again to be met with the same result time and time again? Vi isn't responsible for Jinx's mental health and y'all saying that are just weird. And I think it's apparent that Stillwater probably wasn't even in the top 10 things in her head being with Caitlyn, she was just running wild on emotions that she hasn't allowed herself to feel like-- Ever. And even if it Was Vi probably would have said she wasn't comfortable being in a jail cell of all places.

What was I talking about? Oh right, Timebomb.

Like Yes, it's shitty that Ekko doesn't get a happy ending considering he's the most unproblematic in the entire show. But people tend to forget that at the end of the day, Arcane is a TRADGEDY. It's not She-ra, it's not The Owl House, it wasn't going to be wrapped up in a neat little bow where everyone gets to smile and walk into the sunset with their loved ones, especially considering the fact that this season's being used as build ups to other stories, it's relatively clear that this isn't the last we're going to see of a lot of these characters. When they come back into play? well... who's to say?

But also, let's address that a lot of the Caitvi hate is just straight up homophobia at this point because a lot of people can understand Mel's admission to manipulating Jayce as an apology but Cait's actions we're suddenly braindead and need shit completely spelled out. like good lord I'm so tired of this. Y'all would NEVER have survived Catradora let me tell ya...

Arcane season 2 act 3 spoilers! Don’t read if you don’t want to have it ruined.

Confusion about Jayce.

Okay, so I have only watched Arcane all the way through once and I am sure there is a lot I could be missing. But, at the end when Jayce breaks through to Viktor and finally reveals what a lot of people have been saying that Viktor was the Mage that saves him and his mother and starts his obsession with giving magic to everyone. Jayce says that in every reality he needed Jayce to show him the way.

Here’s the thing, if Jayce and his mother had died in the snow storm, should that not stop everything from happening? My theory is based on the alternate reality Ekko was in (RIP to the GOAT Heimerdinger) HexTech was never developed even though we clearly see Powder with the gems in the end. I assume the council in that universe went through with banishing him because there was a death as a result of his experiments.

No Hextech means Viktor is never exposed to the hex. Jayce very well could still be studying in excise but without the funds of Piltover and Victors help I doubt he would get to the level he does in Ekkos timeline. Everyone for the most part in this reality is happy and thriving. The only people we don’t see are Victor, Caitlin and Jayce.

So that leads me to think that as sad as it would be to let kid Jayce die, wouldn’t that stop the cycle? If Jayce and Vik never partner up (you can’t tell me they never kissed, not even once?) most of the events in the show wouldn’t happen.

Now you can argue Singed and Shimmer would still be an issue in Ekkos timeline, but even then. Without Hextech, Ambessa would have any reason to make a deal with him for WarWick to be used as a weapon. Arguably she probably would have no reason to be in Piltover at all without Hextech. She stated multiple times it was her last hope for something strong enough to fight the rose. She would have stayed away.

And if Silco and Vander forgive each other, Singed would have no ali to test Shimmer on.

Someone please tell me if I am missing something. Or even if you just wanna talk about the show. Lol no one in my life watches this show and I need to discuss theories with people.

A timebomb, time loop AU (inspired by Orpheus and Eurydice)

which basically amounts to friends to lovers and then angst. Which is what most of my fics amount to. but like. fun?

Ekko was the one she sat on when he annoyed her. The one she wrestled with and argued with. It was nice not to feel like the youngest, just stuck tagging along. The playing field was even when they battled.

And someone was hurting him. 

Powder found an older boy and his friend, the friend had large droopy ears and a sad droopy nose. The guy holding Ekko’s arm behind his back was not very tall but he was dense and moved slowly. Powder watched Droopy look through Ekko’s bag.

“There’s nothing good here, Dekker, let him go.”

“No. Keep looking, he has something, I know he does.”

“No,” Powder said, coming out from her vantage point, hearing Vi scream in her ear no. no. don’t do that. just stay hidden. i’ll take care of it. “He doesn’t have anything, Benzo doesn’t give him anything good to carry, he’s really stupid.”

“Shut up, Powder,” Ekko said, “What are you doing? Go away.”

But his arm was being twisted at such a weird angle. And Vi also told her, we don’t leave people behind, powder, okay? you never leave someone behind.

Powder’s heart began to pound when Dekker told Droopy to get her. Just to put her somewhere where she wouldn’t be a problem. Check her bag too. But Droopy was less enthusiastic about intimidating children. Power wasn’t a child anymore, though. She was twelve. And twelve meant she was old enough. For what? Hard to tell, it was just… old enough. The two boys weren’t much older, fourteen… maybe fifteen? 

“Look, we won’t hurt your friend-”

“You’re already hurting my friend,” Powder snapped, “And Vander is going to kill you. If my sister doesn’t… and she will.”

Power did begin to panic here, just a little bit. Because Vander wasn’t coming, Vi wasn’t coming, and she could only bluff for so long. The boys both stiffened at Vander’s name but that wasn’t the same thing as stopping. Now Dekker was holding Ekko down but he was also looking at her. So she caught Ekko’s disapproving eyes. Tried to think. 

“I could scream,” Powder said, “That will bring them both here really fast. Do you want me to do that? You could lose a couple teeth for the low, low price of some copper wire and broken Piltover garbage?”

“Don’t scream,” Ekko managed to say and Powder shot him a look but he sounded weird, “He’s going to kill them. They don’t understand. You know how Vander is.”

Powder skirted the wall, trying to come a little closer to Ekko without startling the two boys, now watching her uncertainly, “He has these metal gauntlets, and he just sort of… picks them up,” she bent her knees and did a tiny movement that somehow conveyed slipping her hands into something and it being very heavy when she lifted them, “like they weight nothing. And they don’t. For him. But teeth-” she tapped her front tooth, “Cheekbones… jaws… they tend to be a little more delicate. Mandibles, in particular… ” it was a new word and she said it like she liked it, her next two steps to Ekko almost had a swagger, “I don’t think copper is meant for wiring jaws shut, but if that’s all you got, then that’s all you got, you know?”

“Shut her up,” said Dekker, his fear making him angry.

“Run,” Ekko said, his fear making him brave.

“Don’t fight and we won’t hurt you-” Droopy said, his fear making him hesitate. 

“Watch your jaw,” Powder said, her fear making her incredibly, incredibly stupid. She swung her backpack, filled as it was monkeys and mice and chomping things, wrenches and bolts and yes, wires. She swung it with all the force of a twelve year old girl who was incredibly frightened. And then she grabbed her pliers from her pocket, the ones with Ekko’s name circled even though they should have her own name, and she dove for Ekko. 

Powder had done two things that Vi wouldn’t like. One, she joined a fight she couldn’t finish and two, she blocked her own exit. You could do one and be okay, you couldn’t do both. But Ekko was there and Dekker was watching her, his hands were lighter on him , and Ekko could be slippery. She could be quick. As soon as Ekko could run, they would run. 

But one backpack wielded by scrawny arms was never going to be enough, it knocked Droopy flat, he got up quickly. And he did not appreciate being hit in the face with a bunch of shit.
