Well it looks like the Gundam movie is back to Square One with a new writer and director, and Netflix is no longer the distributor. The new writer and director is Jim Mickle from Netflix’s Sweet Tooth.
The previous draft of the film according to an Anime Expo panel for VIP’s, to be frank sounded like bad 08th MS Team fan fiction. The plot of this film is still tightly under wraps…and let’s face it, will likely ALSO be bad 08th MS Team Fanfic. After all, remaking the original is apparently a complete no-go at Sunrise.
Honestly I would just go through concepts from other AU’s at this point that have something outside of that 08th framework, or since they’re probably never going to animate it, just make the movie a Crossbone Gundam adaptation.

Sweet Tooth (prod. Jim Mickle & Beth Schwartz).
Netflix’s series adaptation of comic book writer Jeff Lemire’s cozy dystopian fantasy tale of a wide-eyed half-human, half-deer hybrid animal child searching for belonging lives up to the DC Comics’ landscape of post-apocalyptic nature.

It's time for Beginnings, the podcast where writer and performer Andy Beckerman talks to the comedians, writers, filmmakers and musicians he admires about their earliest creative experiences and the numerous ways in which a creative life can unfold.
On today's episode, I talk to writer and director Jim Mickle. Originally from Douglassville, PA, Jim studied film at NYU and then worked his way up in the industry, eventually deciding to make his own film in 2006, Mulberry Street, with frequent collaborator Nick Damici. Each film they made got a little more attention: Stake Land, We Are What We Are and Cold In July, which premiered at Sundance and was scooped up by IFC Films. From 2016 to 2018, Jim and Damici showran the Sundance TV show Hap and Leonard, and most recently, Jim has showrun three seasons of the Netflix Jeff Lemire adaptation Sweet Tooth, whose third season debuts today!

‘Sweet Tooth’ Season 1 Recap: What to Know before Watching Season 2
Sweet Tooth is again on Netflix with Season 2 — and we’ve had to wait a mighty very long time. It’s been virtually 700 days since we final noticed Gus and his de facto father determine Tommy Jepperd embark on their cross-country trek to Colorado. You could have even watched a very completely different post-apocalyptic show about fathers and children crossing a wasteland. If that’s the case, you…

Visionnez « We Are What We Are » en ligne
Bon nombre de films d’épouvante sont disponibles sur le Net. Par exemple, retrouvez « We Are What We Are », une réalisation de Jim Mickle qui met en scène les Parker. Cette famille a bien des choses à cacher.
