Great Gonzo Plots

No one talks about how both Gonzo-centric Muppet movies have Gonzo's character arc revolve around loneliness and companionship. In Muppets From Space, Gonzo begins to feel isolated because of him constantly referred to as a "Whatever". And in Muppets Haunted Mansion, Gonzo realizes that the reason he's always doing dangerous stunts is because he thinks without them, no one will pay him any attention. Both times Gonzo eventually learns that he's just fine with the Muppets, regardless.

I am absolutely fascinated with animatronics, they are literally so amazing!! It’s so cool that all these different people came together and made this life-like thing. It’s just so cool to see how it works, and yeah. I just went on a guilt free (mini) rant.

HOWEVER

You could not PAY ME to go near one :/

They are so fascinating and amazing, but I will never be able to be near one without feeling anxiety and DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED WHEN THEY MALFUNCTION-

Farscape proves pretty effectively that puppets can be very adult lol. Unfortunately that didn't come around until after JH's death. But I always love telling people that Henson Creature Shop did all the alien prosthetics and effects. And TWO main characters on the show were literally just puppets.

That shit is just amazing to me. Look at the detail! The scale! Henson Studios is magic. And puppeteers are wizards.

it’s commendable how Jim Henson knew that making a variety show that happens to star puppets would inevitably be pigeonholed as a kids show so he chose the name THE MUPPET SHOW: SEX AND VIOLENCE for the pilot to try to avoid that and then it still didn’t work

Moppy (モッピー) is a Sesame Street Muppet who was created exclusively for Universal Studios Japan (USJ) for the park's tenth anniversary. According to the comic included in USJ's press release, Moppy was created from all the happiness that filled the park. Elmo collected this happiness in his bag and became luckier and luckier. Eventually, on the theme park's tenth anniversary, all of this happiness grew to create Moppy.

This is SO COOL! I haven't seen the Dark Crystal series (nor the original film in full), but the puppetry and animatronics in both always stun me.

The absolutely miserable expression on the video thumbnail is making me lose it, though. Poor guy.
