i associate songs to certain parts/scenes i’ve created in my head about the marauders. my MAIN one (this is so good I’m so excited) ((just regular loser delusional activity’s)) is when sirius finds out peter’s the spy and confronts him which then leads to him being arrested. NOW, i always picture bohemian rhapsody playing in the background.. it would be a cinematic masterpiece. not only was bohemian rhapsody released on the 31st of october (i’m going insane) but it’s just PERFECT UHG. it will be cinematic in the way that quinn was giving birth while jesse st james was belting his heart out. i could go line by line of how each lyric would play out but here’s a few of my bright ideas!! (i’ve lost the plot and i’ve realized this while typing this out)

main mentions;

peter saying ‘i don’t wanna die’ and sirius going ‘i wish you were never born at all’ and they say that while the music is playing softly in the background (somebody sedate me)

sirius screaming ‘let me go’ while they are arresting him

remus finding out what sirius had ‘done’ and that he’s now alone to the lyrics ‘so you think you can love me and leave me to die’

and the scene ending while panning out from sirius cell from azkaban and its bowing wind with crazy rough sea/waves while you hear the song say ‘any way the wind blows’

and boom everyone died dead (literally) everyone’s crying, they can’t fathom what they just witnessed, people are rising out of their seats in a fit of distress, people are clapping, and i bow and say ‘you’re welcome’ mike drop.

(PLEASE ONE PERSON TELL ME THEY UNDERSTAND MY VISION. I RECOMMEND YOU PUT HEADPHONES IN AND LISTEN TO BOHEMIAN RAPSDY (glee version or not…) AND PICTURE IT!!)

The Fairytale of Severus Snape

I made a video based on the song: “Fairytale„ by Alexander Rybak on The Sims 4 featuring the life of Severus Snape, mainly his tumultuous relationship with Lily Evans Potter and how his relationship with mr. Harry Potter is a continuation of that turmoil.

This explores from their childhood friendship, passing through the rough adolescence and bullying, her death, his hard years as the Potions Master in Hogwarts and, finally, his death.

I do believe that his song was perfect for him, only surpassed by “Always„ by Bon Jovi, perhaps.

This video means a lot to me, as it took me about an entire month to finish it. Besides, when I took the decision of making this video I only had I rough idea of what was the Harry Potter saga, so I decided to actually check the source material for a better understanding of what I was doing. During the month I spent doing this project, I watched eight (8) films and read two (2) books. I'm currently reading Prisoner of Azkaban.

I must thank this video for bringing me, definitively, to the Harry Potter fandom.

The Queer Utopia of the Marauders Fandom | Video Essay

Hello, so I wanted to come on and say that if anyone is new to the marauders fandom and is feeling extremely overwhelmed by all the details, relationships, character arcs, fancasts, etc and it’s just all over the place really...but most of all I’ve had people come to me asking how this specific era has such a huge community behind it, is so popular to the point that people claim to love of harry potter’s dad and his gay friends more than the chosen one himself (the one who got like 8 blockbuster films and 7 books? yeah that one). I think this video is a great place to start.

All creds to jubil3e on Youtube who posted this simple, easy to follow video essay explaining the whole upcoming of the marauders era, and the process in which fans started to fill in the gaps to characters who were only mentioned in 1 sentence or less...it’s truly incredible and the gift that keeps on giving. 

I intend on giving as many resources as possible to new fans or to any marauders fans that might be feeling like the fandom is way ahead of them (don’t worry, I totally get you and we’ve all been there before). 

So the best place for resources would be tiktok honestly, the platform that started it all (alone with ao3 and tumblr). People have made slideshows and powerpoint presentations you can download, lots of shorter explanation videos that are talking about more specific areas (unlike the video above which is more like the general picture) I’ll link some very helpful sites in my next blog with credits to all the incredible creators of course.
