The Fairytale of Severus Snape

I made a video based on the song: “Fairytale„ by Alexander Rybak on The Sims 4 featuring the life of Severus Snape, mainly his tumultuous relationship with Lily Evans Potter and how his relationship with mr. Harry Potter is a continuation of that turmoil.

This explores from their childhood friendship, passing through the rough adolescence and bullying, her death, his hard years as the Potions Master in Hogwarts and, finally, his death.

I do believe that his song was perfect for him, only surpassed by “Always„ by Bon Jovi, perhaps.

This video means a lot to me, as it took me about an entire month to finish it. Besides, when I took the decision of making this video I only had I rough idea of what was the Harry Potter saga, so I decided to actually check the source material for a better understanding of what I was doing. During the month I spent doing this project, I watched eight (8) films and read two (2) books. I'm currently reading Prisoner of Azkaban.

I must thank this video for bringing me, definitively, to the Harry Potter fandom.

Eileen is tall compared to other girls her age. She has a pale complexion, as if she has never seen the daylight, and her skin is thin, revealing her veins that appear bluish in some places. Being naturally slender, she has a hollow face and dark circles are often marked under her eyes. Her eyes are green, a sage green that seems to pierce through when she looks at us. She does not have a very expressive face, she is rather pretty, but she does not fit the "general" beauty standards.

Hobby, occupation(s) : Since she was little, her father improvised potions lessons in their living room when she couldn't sleep, and as she grew older, she developed a taste for it. Even before she could read properly, Eileen could distinguish any flower by its smell, recognize the leaves of plants by their shape, and adapt the ingredients according to the effect the potion should have. She excels in this subject and even reached a university level in her 5th year, although during class she simply does what is required with brilliance.

BIOGRAPHY

Eileen Pride Prince was born on January 24, 1983, the only daughter of Severus Snape and a witch whose name is not mentioned. She carries the first and middle name of her father's mother, thus avoiding direct association with him while paying homage to their family history.

Her second name, "Pride," was given to her by Minerva, who, along with Dumbledore and Severus, is the only one aware of her origins.

During her childhood, and up until the war broke out in 1997, her father's true identity was kept secret to protect his role as a spy and Death Eater in service to Dumbledore. Eileen then grew up at Hogwarts, tossed between the forbidden ingredient reserves where she spent hours learning while her father took inventory, late-night potions lessons improvised in their living room, and the dark corridors where Mrs. Norris was sometimes her only company.

She excels in many subjects but stands out especially in potions, which she had mastered even before learning to read properly. Her entire childhood was filled with the scents of cauldrons, the vapors of macerating plants, and the bottling of potions that her father prepared, which she took care to label to help him.

A member of the Slytherin house, Eileen is known for being very intelligent, confident, and extremely cunning. Despite her cold nature, expressionless face, and imperturbable demeanor, she suffers from anxiety that often prevents her from sleeping, condemning her to wander the castle corridors in search of rest.

She has an unconditional love for her father, who raised and protected her despite the circumstances in which she was born and who continues to prioritize her whenever he can. Their relationship is unusual in that they rarely see each other during the day, contenting themselves with a teacher/student relationship when necessary. In the evenings, however, she takes advantage of the opportunity to slip into his office while Severus corrects his students' work, speaking rarely during these moments when she prefers to simply listen to him complain about his mediocre students.

BIOGRAPHY

Felix was born to Elias and Rosemary Rosier, younger brother of Evan Rosier. He was born into a well-known and respected old pure-blood line. During his time at Hogwarts his father, became friends with Tom Riddle, due to that became one of the first to become a Death Eater when the Dark Lord started rising. And which given the fact his grandmother Vinda Rosier was arguably Gellert Grindelwald's most trusted and loyal Acolyte, it's safe to say his family had a pattern of becoming loyal subjects to whomever they deemed worthy. Even his aunt, Druella Rosier, achieved power and position when she married into the ancient and most noble House of Black, a pureblood family with roots every bit as deep, and coffers even fuller, than those of the Rosiers. However unlike many other members of his family, Felix did not want to become a Dark Wizard, and was instead interested in dragons.

Felix started attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1980 and was sorted into Slytherin. His Head of House at the time was Horace Slughorn, though Severus Snape took over the position in Felix's second year after Slughorn left. In his third year, Felix took at least Care of Magical Creatures as an elective.

In his fifth year, Felix was chosen as the male prefect on his house, and was responsible for watching over first-year students of his house. He told them about the importance of the House Cup and often told his fellow Slytherins to earn as many house points as possible.

On the first day of education that year, Felix found out that first-year Elena Jenkins, younger sister of the infamous Jacob Jenkins who had previously been in Slytherin and expelled from Hogwarts, had managed to lose ten house points in a Potions class. Over time, Felix and Elena began to have a more positive relationship as Elena proved to be a very successful house point earner. Felix eventually taught Elena how to duel, even if it was against a fellow Slytherin Merula Snyde.

In his sixth year, Felix lead his fellow Slytherins to prank Gryffindors whose behavior after the latter house's Quidditch victory against the former started annoying Slytherins. This act, however, lead to Slytherin losing 50 points at the end of the year.

Before graduating Hogwarts, Felix taught Elena about the Freezing Charm, the Babbling Beverage and the Snargaluff, as well as made sure to tell Snape that Elena would make a good future prefect.

After graduation, Felix became a Dragonologist, specializing in the Peruvian Vipertooth. He worked at the Swedish dragon reservation.

In September 1988, Gryffindor Prefect and Head Boy William Weasley contacted Felix and invited him to join a meeting at the Three Broomsticks Inn along with other former prefects Chester Davies, Angelica Cole and Jane Court, as well as newly appointed prefects Elena Jenkins and Charles Weasley. At the meeting, Felix told the two about his job, which made Charlie excited, as he was also trying to be a Dragonologist.

I need a chaotic scenario where Severus and 7th year reader are locked in the chamber of secrets and 7th year reader just starts sharing awkward , emotional , and drama filled secrets with him . She also sings muggle songs to kill time and all of it just gets snapes nerves to the point where he just tells them to shut the fuck up and that he isn't a therapist . But then 7th year reader is like "well based on how you act , you definitely have secrets too". Then Severus just trauma dumps and then reader pulls out a random notebook and he's like what the hell are you doing and she tells him she is "helping him resolve and his reorganize his thoughts" but she writing a biography on him and he does not find out till her book is published . Teehee it's so chaotic .

It was a Hogsmeade day (yes, again) meaning that most of the students were blissfully out of the castle, which gave Severus plenty of time to wander. Most of his 5th year house mates were out, and Severus heard a particular conversation in the common room that spiked his interest.

"Did you know we have a secret room at Hogwarts?" one of the Slytherin boys said.

"Yeah it's the room of requirement. You have to-" - a girl said, but was interrupted.

"Not that one, everyone knows about that room" the boy said. "It's totally secret no one knows where it is. It's Salazar Slytherins' secret chamber. Merlin knows what he is hiding in there."

"My grandmother told me there was a creature inside. She told me that only the true heir of Slytherin would be able to open the Chamber, and use the creature to kill mudbloods. To purge the school of filth." - you said, joining the conversation.

"That's barbaric" the first boy added. "And I'd appreciate if you didn't use those words."

Severus interest peaked, and he needed to find that room. When the rest of the group scattered around, he approached you. You looked older than he was.

"Hello." he said awkwardly "I heard the conversation you were having over there. Do you know where the chamber is?"

"Hey you. No, the only thing I know is that the access is through one of the bathrooms. My grandmother never got into details."

"Can't you ask her?" he sounded wishful

"She's dead." you said dryly.

"Oh. Sorry. Well..." awkwardly he continued "I'm going to check on the bathrooms. Do you want to come with me?"

"I have an idea where it could be, but we have to be careful not to be caught." you smirked and elbowed him, leaving his side and motioning him to follow.

"Here. I think it is this one. The only question is, how do we open the door? And where the hell is the door?" - you sighed

"Only the heir of Slytherin could open the door. Does it need blood?" Severus asked

"It could be. Any idea where to smear the blood?" you asked.

"No, but neither of us are heirs of Slytherin." Severus pointed

"No, but it is worth a try. I am pure-blooded, who knows?" you said, pulling out your wand from your robes and dabbing at your palm to cut it just enough to have droplets of blood.

"Great, now smear the blood anywhere you can. We have no idea where the entrance is... try the toilets." Severus said

"I am absolutely not going to rub an open wound on a toilet."

"Fine, try... the faucets. It's right in the middle, looks as impossible as any other option here." Severus said, sounding defeated.

You complied, and rubbed your palm over the faucets. A loud churning sound of pipes and stone began to fill the room, and what felt like an earthquake followed.

"Bloody hell you're actually the heir!" - Severus was gobsmacked and tried to stay steady, grabbing her robes and pulling her backwards, away from the opening that was forming.

"I didn't know that either!" you said, truthfully, staring between the faucets and your hand.

When the motion stopped, you approached the opening. It looked like a well.

"I'll go first, if I don't get back, take my Potions book and give it to Lily Evans please." Severus said, putting his wand between his teeth, grabbing the handle nearby the stairs and began descending the well.

After assuring you that the perimeter was safe, you descended and joined him. Some minutes later, both of you were in the very middle chamber of secrets, staring at it's enormity and emptiness.

"My grandmother never told me about this part." you admitted.

Severus stood silent.

"I wish she were here with me" you said gloomily.

Unable to remain silent and not make it more awkward, Severus made small talk.

"For how long has she been gone?"

"Two years. I was your age when I lost her. She was almost like my mother. I grew up without my true mother. She died as well when I was a baby. My father was never in the picture. Pure-blooded but a weasel." you sniffled after replying.

"I am sorry about your loss. I am sure she is very proud of you, both of them, actually." Severus offered, smiling softly at her.

"Right. Now, how do we get out of here?" you were getting too open with a boy you barely knew.

"I don't know. The entrance is no longer visible. Do you think it has a timer of sorts?" Severus asked, eyeing the room

"It could have... If I am the heir of Slytherin it should allow me to leave but at the moment there is no exit visible. Let's wait for a bit."

"Alright."

To his annoyance, your idea of passing time was different than his own. You began to sing.

"Love hurts, love scars Love wounds and marks Any heart Not tough or strong enough To take a lot of pain, take a lot of pain Love is like a cloud Holds a lot of rain Love hurts Ooh, ooh, love hurts"

Severus' hair was already prickled in annoyance.

"Must you sing? I was trying to think in a way of getting us both out of here." Severus said between clenched teeth. It didn't help that the bloody room was empty and echoed loudly.

"Sorry. It is my way of coping." you said miserably.

"I understand, but you are not alone in this room." Severus said, annoyed.

"I just miss my grandmother." you pressed, rather offended at his annoyance.

After some minutes of blissful silence, the singing continued.

"It seemed so hard for me to share It's even harder now that you're not there (Now baby) I'm losing sleep over the secrets that you keep (Oh baby) I'm losing sleep over the secrets that you keep"

"Are you serious?" Severus barked "Please submit yourself to the 4th floor of St.Mungo's as soon as we are out of here if you think that singing off key is a healthy way of coping."

"Don't be a prat. And by the way, everyone has secrets. And if the way you act is any hint, I'd say you have a ton of secrets too"

"If I do, I will not share them with you." Severus said, under his breath.

You pull out your notebook and begin scribbling.

"What's, that, what are you doing?" Severus asked, eyeing the notebook from a distance

"Nothing, just organizing my thoughts. You should do it too. You're always so angry. You're just a kid, what reason do you have to be always so angry with everyone?"

"I'm not always angry at everyone, just with a specific group of people." Severus said.

"Why is that'?" you asked, and continued scribbling.

Severus sighed in defeat and slumped to the floor, not really looking at you but staring blankly at the open mouthed wall behind you.

"There's this girl, Lily. She used to be my best friend even before Hogwarts... And you see..."

Severus poured his heart out to you, and you took notes of almost everything he said.

Eventually the chamber shook, and both of you motioned to get up and smeared your blood on the wall that held the previous entrance and exited the chamber.

22 years later, Voldemort had fallen, and a barely alive Severus was declared a war hero, convicted of the murder of Albus Dumbledore, sentenced to a domiciliary prison regime for two years. To his dismay, one of the owls he received on the afternoon after his trial, was heavy and voluminous.

A book.

His childhood was far from ideal - it was really no surprise that the dimly lit rooms and surly grounds of his early home in Cokeworth produced a man that was in many ways a reflection. But as a child, Severus knew little more than the sharp tongue of his mother, and the wicked backhand of his father. He kept his nose to his books, helping his mother, Eileen and avoiding Tobias when he could, and for a while, it wasn’t so bad. His father only lashed out when he made mistakes, or when he misbehaved - although both were few and far between - the boy was smarter than that. But it all took a turn for the worse when he started showing his magic in earnest, and that was when he started to come to loathe his father. After all, Severus couldn’t help what he was - he had been born this way, whether he’d wanted to be or not. If Tobias wanted to blame someone, he should have blamed his wife - or himself, for marrying a witch in the first place. But even taking his father into account, he wouldn’t trade his magic for anything, relishing the small moments where his mother would show him more magic, teaching him tricks as they did the chores before Tobias came back home, although those moments were rare. His mother seemed to largely ignore Severus because it was what Tobias expected of her - but it didn’t keep them from fighting regardless, and their misplaced anger and unhappiness often found itself aimed at their son. Magic was Severus' escape - it was what made him unlike his father. It was what made him better. 

So, when he found Lily Evans, it wasn’t hard to imagine his excitement. She was like him. She was magical, and not only did she understand, but she was actually interested in what he had to say. She listened to him, actually wanted to spend time with him - not like the other kids in town that called him names and made fun of him for being poor. Lily was different, and Severus quickly came to care for her a great deal. In truth, she was the first person in his life to give him the time of day. He spent as much time with her as he could, even though largely it meant having to deal with her annoying, non-magical older sister Petunia. Her sister who treated Severus exactly how the other muggle children did. Her sister who was like his father - not understanding, and cruel. She would never understand, she wasn’t like them - and Severus doubted even then that she would ever treat any of them any better. None of them did, why should she be any different?

The boy thought it might get better when he got his Hogwarts letter, but if anything, it got worse as his father tried to keep him in submission in spite of his growing power - his fear coming out in the same usual ways. But it didn’t matter - because come September 1st, he was gone. From the moment he sat down at the long Slytherin table, Hogwarts was more than he could have ever imagined. Finally, he was home. A place he wouldn’t have to hide who he was - where there were nothing but his own kind, people who understood him. His clothes might still be more worn than the rest, but they were always clean and his meals were always hot, and he thought there couldn’t possibly be any place better than here, and just the thought of coming back every year helped him make it through the long summers with his parents back at Spinner’s End. He was finally able to use his intelligence in a way he had yearned to for years, and from the very beginning he was one of the best in his class, excelling in particular in Potions and the Dark Arts - the latter being of particular interest to him. 

But being in Slytherin had started to drive a wedge between Lily and himself, at first simply because their time together was now much more limited. But as she became closer to her housemates, and him to his, they drifted further and further apart, a fact that weighed heavily on Severus. It was clear that she wasn't a fan of his new friends, and he, in turn, would never understand her tolerance of her own housemates - especially the annoying boy James Potter who played ringleader, along with Sirius Black and his ragtag team of idiots. They treated him as poorly as the muggles had - if not worse - and his hatred toward them was nearly even stronger, but it only thickened the tension between himself and Lily, until finally, he lashed out at the one person he'd promised himself he would never hurt. Mudblood. He'd never said it before, and it slipped through his lips in misplaced anger - perhaps he was more like his father than he thought. As he watched Lily turn from him, he knew he had cast the last shadow onto their friendship. A desperate and angry Severus took the Dark Mark not long into his seventh year, shedding the last remnants of the man he once could have been. 

Once graduated, he decided to start in on perfecting his craft, relishing the feeling of being better than almost everyone in the subject of potions. He quickly grew the business of the small shop in Knockturn Alley, and his reputation allowed him to drop the pleasant facade when dealing with customers (not that he was ever very good at it to begin with), as they would come to him regardless, since his product wasn't easily rivaled. But still, he spent as much time away from people as he could, and when Dumbledore himself showed up one day to offer him a post of Potions Master, he surprised both of them by conceding. He had never had a huge desire to work with children, let alone teach them for that matter, but he knew the post would bring great joy to his master, and Severus wanted to be worthy.

He found himself in a dark spiral, growing more and more secluded, bitter, angry and separated from the world as he was - and then somehow, he still couldn't quite pin exactly how - Dumbledore wormed his way into his mind. If Severus hadn’t already taught himself Occlumency he would have sworn it was some underhanded trick. Leave it to the old fool to prey on the one shred of decency the man had never been able to give up. But suddenly, there he was, working for the Order. At first, he had told himself it was to spy and feed back to the Death Eaters - but even he couldn’t hide from the fact that what he was actually doing was the opposite: he was leaking information back to the Order. He was helping them fight against Voldemort - and what was even more shocking was that it gave Severus back a sense of purpose he hadn’t felt in a very long time. And with that, he found himself fighting harder and harder, willing to give his life for his cause (which was not saying very much, if you asked Severus: purpose or not, he still didn’t think very much of his own value).

And it seemed as if he had somehow, maybe, become one of Dumbledore’s most trusted allies - to the point where when Severus saw an odd looking diary on a shelf in Lucius Malfoy's home, he stole it. And when he discovered all the secrets this diary held, putting it together with the knowledge he'd gained from Dumbledore and Regulus about the locket - he handed it over to be destroyed. Severus Snape, a war hero. He'd have cursed you for just suggesting it before.

When the war ended, however, it was hard to convince people of what had really happened - especially with Dumbledore and Voldemort gone. There was no one to vouch for him but his friends, and though they tried, they didn’t have much sway.  People would see the mark on his arm, and figured they knew everything they needed to know about him, and that was fine with Severus. Even the ones he had fought alongside in the Order didn’t trust him, and he didn’t do anything to change their mind. He put in a letter of resignation for his post at Hogwarts, and waited for the Aurors to come collect him - but they never came. Either way, he was content to purchase a small flat and live out his life in the seclusion of his own home with a mail order Potions business under someone else’s name.

However, Severus surprisingly grew bored after a while, and decided to open a small shop in the furthest reaches of Hogsmeade village. After all, the castle had been his home for so long - his first real home, and even for someone like him that was hard to give up. He opened his doors right next to Aberforth, and while the foot traffic is slow, it’s enough. And that’s all he ever wanted: enough.

born the eldest son of the Arundel family Alastair was given a name from their heritage. in truth, they wished to name him Alasdair, but considering they no longer lived in the Scottish highlands where their line originated from they decided to go with Alastair - the meaning of the name ever present as "man's defender". growing up Alastair was a very quiet child, he was the complete opposite of his younger siblings, and was often looked upon as the one with his head in the game, not in the clouds. As he got older Alastair understood his responsibility as the oldest of the Arundel children and was often tutored by scholars on taking over the mantle from his father when the time came. In truth he did not mind it, the ever-looming responsibility and position he one day would hold - he somewhat reveled in it.

instead of wishing to play alongside his siblings, he would be found with a book in hand, often about the great battle leaders and in the meetings his father held regarding business. often the head of the family would bring Alastair along on his travels to make him understand the vast riches they held with their land and the ever-eager-to-learn child loved it.

In his youth, there was one individual who caught the attention of the Arundel child, a flower amongst the thorns which made the young man fall instantly. there was no denying the affection he held for her and a certain spark had ignited a rather playful side even to the introverted young man. His dreams however got shattered when an engagement was announced and Alastair went back into his own being, never wishing to let another enter his heart ever again.

in his late thirties when he'd come into himself as a man, Alastair took in his closest best friend's daughter. not because he wished to, but because he didn't have the heart to watch them wither away without her parents who had perished in a rather horrific way. At this point in life, Alastair had become the head of the family, his parents died at sea, leaving their children behind and thankfully in states where they had all become somewhat of age. Alastair took the role of gentry and since he had prepared for such a role all his life, he found himself being content with it.

However, the trip to New York gives the gentry new ideas, new territory to explore and since the whole family has A new life and a new beginning is on the rise and Alastair is both excited and cautious about this new adventure, yet he believes there to be more they can achieve here even if it seems rather difficult.

Dad coughed and took a sip of his wine. Mum wouldn’t look at him, or at Teddy, and Hope seemed to catch on to their parents’ strange reactions.

“Al’s middle name is Severus,” Hope piped up. “I reckon it must be the same one!”

“He was a Potions professor, the book said,” Teddy continued. “Was he yours, Mum? Harry said he was brilliant at Potions.”

Biography:

Professor Severus Snape is an English half-blood wizard serving as Potions Master, Head of Slytherin House, Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, and Headmaster of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as well as a member of the Order of the Phoenix and a Death Eater. His double life played an extremely important role in both Wizarding Wars against Voldemort.

The only child of Muggle Tobias Snape and witch Eileen Snape (née Prince), Severus was raised in the Muggle dwelling of Spinner's End, which was near the home of the Evans family, though in a poorer area. He met Lily and Petunia Evans when he was nine. Severus started at Hogwarts with Lily in 1971, where he was Sorted into Slytherin House. This put him in the same year as Lily but unfortunately for him in her rival house. Severus became the immediate enemy of James Potter and Sirius Black and was a frequent victim of their bullying. Snape, when young, developed a passion for the Dark Arts, which increased as his desire for revenge against his bullies grew stronger.

Severus excelled at the Dark Arts from an early age. At the age of eleven, he knew more curses and hexes than most of the seventh year students. He reportedly was friends with a gang of Slytherins who later became Death Eaters, including Avery and Mulciber. Severus was credited with creating a good number of popular spells like Levicorpus, Liberacorpus, Muffliato, and curses like Langlock, the Toenail Growth Hex, and his signature curse, Sectumsempra. Other Slytherins that Sirius mentioned as being friends with Severus included Evan Rosier, Wilkes and Sirius's cousin Bellatrix Lestrange. Severus also had contact with Lucius Malfoy, who was a prefect during his first year and greeted him kindly when he was sorted into the Slytherin House. Severus was made a member of the Slug Club presumably because of his talent in Potion-making. Horace Slughorn even kept a picture of him as a student, clutching his copy of Advanced Potion-Making. However, Horace did not actually have many hopes for Severus's future, as his photograph was kept behind many others.

As an active Death Eater, one of Snape's biggest contributions was letting Lord Voldemort know about the prophecy Sybill Trelawney made to Dumbledore. This part of the prophecy could have applied to either Harry or Neville, who was also born at the end of July to parents who were members of the Order. Once Lord Voldemort decided to target the Potters over the Longbottoms, Snape begged Lord Voldemort to at least spare Lily so Snape could be with her. Lord Voldemort agreed, then did not follow through on this promise.

Shortly before Lily Evans was murdered by Lord Voldemort, Snape changed sides and became a member of the Order of the Phoenix as well as a double agent during the Second Wizarding War. With tremendous difficulty, Snape prevented Lord Voldemort from learning the truth about his loyalties.

Despite the opinions of most others including Harry during his early life, Albus Dumbledore trusted Snape for reasons that were kept between them both until their deaths. Despite Snape killing Dumbledore, it is learned that they had a special agreement for him to do so. The relationship between Dumbledore and Snape would be one of unusually strong loyalty, so much so that Snape agreed to kill Dumbledore upon the latter's own request. Before Dumbledore's death, Snape promised to protect the students of Hogwarts from the Death Eaters, who would inevitably take control of the Ministry of Magic as well as the school.

Evan was born to Elias and Rosemary Rosier, older brother to Felix Rosier. He was born into a well-known and respected old pure-blood line. During his time at Hogwarts his father, became friends with Tom Riddle, due to that became one of the first to become a Death Eater when the Dark Lord started rising. Which given the fact his grandmother Vinda Rosier was arguably Gellert Grindelwald's most trusted and loyal Acolyte, it's safe to say his family had a pattern of becoming loyal subjects to whomever they deemed worthy. Even his aunt, Druella Rosier, achieved power and position when she married into the ancient and most noble House of Black, a pureblood family with roots every bit as deep, and coffers even fuller, than those of the Rosiers.

Which deeply effected the way that Evan was raised, never have any other choice but to follow Voldemort. Not that he minded due to being raised to strongly believe in the importance of blood purity and what better cause to support than that of pure-blood supremacy; of purging their society of all the taint that Muggles had brought to it over the years?

Lily J. Evans was born to Mr and Mrs Evans, two Muggles of the Evans family, on 30 January.  Her family lived in Cokeworth, England. She had an older sister Petunia, whom she was quite close to. At the age of nine, Lily became friends with Severus Snape, who lived down in Spinner's End, which was within walking distance of the Evans' house. However, her family was apparently better off, since Petunia sneered at Snape for coming from that poverty-stricken neighbourhood.

Severus was the first person to tell Lily that she was a witch, and he went on to teach Lily a great deal about the wizarding world while the two eagerly awaited the time when they could attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry together. Lily's magical abilities and friendship with her Severus caused problems between the Evans sisters. Envying her sister's abilities, Petunia wrote to Dumbledore, asking if she could attend Hogwarts with Lily. However, the headmaster kindly refused her petition. The letter was later found by Lily and Severus.

At the age of eleven, Lily bought her wand from Ollivanders in Diagon Alley. The wand was 10¼ inches, willow, "swishy", and according to Garrick Ollivander, good for charm work. Shortly before her depart to Hogwarts, Lily and Petunia argued about magic again.

Lily attempted to stop his bullying, addressing James only by his surname and vice versa in this moment. It is implied that such bullying had happened more than once. However, Snape lashed out at her in his humiliation, calling her a "filthy Mudblood."

He then begged for Lily forgiveness, but she asked him if he still intended to join the Death Eaters. When he didn't deny this, Lily realised that Snape wasn't willing to change for her and didn't understand what was wrong with the Death Eaters. This led to a parting of ways between Lily and Snape, as the former had already become dismayed by Snape's fascination with the Dark Arts.

By Lily's fifth year, James had developed a crush on her, but she didn't reciprocate, calling him an "arrogant toerag" because he bullied other students, particularly her best friend. James's best friend, Sirius Black, later commented that James couldn't resist showing off and making a fool of himself whenever she was around.

During their seventh year, James matured somewhat, proving himself to be responsible and brave. However, it is implied that he still had the desire to bully Snape, but was willing to stop actually doing it for Lily's sake. This led to her agreeing to go out with him; gaining genuine affection for him in the process. Due to their academic achievement, skill, and responsibility, the young couple eventually were chosen to be Head Boy and Head Girl.

With a war on the forefront of their minds, Lily didn’t think about her career after Hogwarts. She knew she wanted to fight for a world she wanted to live in - for her friends and family. She and James were engaged, but they def got pregnant before the wedding. Bc no prophecy shit, they live in the Potter Manor and Lily is a working mom with James being a trophy husband and also a child named Harry.

I don’t draw, so the fanart wasn’t mine, but I have for years talked about vamp!Tobias on some Facebook pages and Reddit.

I imagine Severus would recognize Tobias immediately. I mean, he hasn’t changed in appearance since the day he disappeared. I kinda like that they look almost like twins. Hair color and length, maybe eye color, is the only thing that’s different.

I never really imagine Voldemort as much part of the equation. He’s dead by the time Severus really starts his vampiric journey. Tobias never really cared about helping Voldemort in the war. Once he saw Severus he felt a need to help him. The memories don’t all come back. He gets flashes of his mortal life. Enough to know he was not the best father. Severus has to fill in the blanks.

I imagine it’s a rocky start. Severus didn’t get an opportunity to choose to be a vampire, but Tobias would explain how impossible it is to ask a parent to let their own child die on the floor. Severus is logical, so he can forgive that action, but has a harder time with forgiving him for other things. But this is a vampire eat vampire world and Severus figures out real quick that sticking next to Tobias is the safest course of action.

Tobias got to his position by ‘eating’ those above him. He is a known and successful ‘diablerist’, which means he has eaten other vampires souls to take their power. So, not great morally, but he is respected in his pocket of vampiric society.

Severus changes this. He may be harsh, but he isn’t a monster like that. I believe their father/son journey is about teaching each other. Tobias becomes less of a monster because of Severus, and Severus learns how to survive being what he is now. This leads to Tobias breaking away from his pack and the Snape’s striking off in their own.

It’s just a nice little redemption father/son story.

I’m a Snarry fan at heart, so I always push it in that direction. The Snape’s encountering Harry one way or another. I also usually put Albus Severus in cause I’m insane and the sole person on the planet who ships Tobias Snape/Albus Severus. BUT, that is all just for me and can be left out of the bigger Tobias redemption arc.

But for those curious. I like the thought of Al being a biographer for all those who participated in the 2nd wizarding war. Meaning he did a lot of research on Severus in particular (he is his namesake, after all). This means Al researched Tobias to write Severus’ biography. Al knows more about Tobias’ life than even Severus knew, so Tobias gets fascinated with Al.

There, those are a few of my vampire!Tobias AU ideas. I just like redemption arcs and Tobias is such a ripe fruit for that!

Since we seems to be on a Tobias kick over here, I have to mention my little headcanon.

In 1975 Tobias went out for beer and cigarettes. He never returned. Eileen and Severus thought he abandoned them. There may have even been a ‘Good Riddance’ attitude. The reality is he was turned into a vampire that night and lost his mortal memories.

Fast forward to the 2nd wizarding war and the vampires are on Voldemort’s side. Tobias has seen all the deatheaters, but they haven’t seen him. Once he sees Severus memories start flooding back and even his other pack mates tell them that they look nearly identical. (I use ‘Vampire the Masquerade’ rules for vampires, and Tobias is part of clan Lasombra. That clan can not see their reflection, so Tobias is oblivious to their similarities until others point it out).

Upon remembering his son, he strikes a deal with Voldemort. If Severus must die it has to be through exsanguination, or Tobias and his vampire pack will leave. (Tobias has ‘eaten’ his way to a pretty powerful rank). Voldemort agrees since Severus has to die (he believes he’s owner of the elder wand) and it doesn’t matter the manner.

Fast forward again and Severus is practically dead from the blood loss of Nagini’s bite, but Tobias is able to embrace him after Harry leaves. Here is where Tobias makes a vow to be a better Sire to Severus in unlife than he was to him as a father in mortal life.

It’s literally a redemption arc for Tobias as he teaches Severus how to be a vampire.

hello friend! i distinctly remember art of vampire!tobias going around before. was it yours? i thought the idea was so cool.

i do love the concept as it has so much potential. like for example what will happen when he and severus finally meet face to face, will the son recognize his father? how will it affect their work with snake face? will severus ever bring up his own memories of the toby he knew? how IS tobias as a vampire anyway? did he undergo a personality shift?

would love to know more!

I have so many things to say about this and how ridiculous this whole paragrath is. 

Firstly, it’s interesting to note that this description is clearly based on how Snape viewed James, based on the fact they even use a quote from him to describe the other man, which is EXTREMELY one sided. Of course Snape is going to think badly of James, they were rivals (because Snape was a dark arts adept and bullied countless muggleborns).

Secondly, I think the first bold sentence is hilarious. “Negative qualieties” such as “ruffling his hair to make it untidy”???? Is that really the worst thing they could think of to make James look bad? I mean, people may find it a bit annoying but as long as I’m aware it’s not considered a bad quality to do something with your hair to make it look the way you want. Right??

And thirdly, the last sentence infuriates me.”Hexing innocent studets for no reason” and then saying “especially Snape” makes absolutely no sense because Snape was ANYTHING but innocent as I already said before. From here, we have two options of interpretation. 

1- James actually hexed innocent students because he was, in fact, a bully. Which I particularly doubt it because of the evidence his three friends, Sirius, Remus and Peter, bring (remember them? I’d say they’re pretty important to understand James’ character, don’t you think?). Let’s start with Peter. As stated many times in the books, he was a small, chubby boy with no fighting skills and not the brightest in school either. It would be easy to pick on him, but instead James befriended him and tried to include him in most of their activities. Then there’s Remus, this (at first) shy boy who’s full of scars and mysteriously disappears every month. Though I’ll forever insist in the fact that Remus could hold his own, James, as a good friend, was always ready to fight for him. And when he found out about his condition, decided to learn incredibly hard and illegal magic just so he could help him. And finally, there’s Sirius. It’s a fact that Sirius was very good at magic, pureblood and incredibly good looking so he wasn’t exactly someone who would be usually bullied, but in his moment of extreme need, when he was kicked out of his home, James was the one to take him in. I think sometimes people forget how big of an act that is. Accepting someone to officialy live with you is a pretty big deal, but the Potters did it in a second. 

And option 2- James never bullied anyone. He hexed people who, like Snape were using the dark arts to hurt other muggleborn and half-blood students and were soon-to-be Death Eaters. And, honestly, I think it’s a pretty good reason to hex someone. But that’s just my opinion, if you think that hurting people just because of how they were born is something acceptable and justifiable that’s perfectly fine too, obviously.

Oh, and let’s not forget about that time in The Prank that James literally saved Snape’s life while risking his own, even though he hated Snape and he wasn’t supposed to be prying on his friend’s business. But when Voldemort went to the Potters, Snape asked him to spare Lily’s life, but absolutely did not care what happened to James or Harry who was a baby, for Merlin’s sake!

So yeah, if you still have any doubts that James Potter was a better person than Snape there’s something seriously wrong with you (no pun intended).

BIOGRAPHY:

His childhood was far from ideal - it was really no surprise that the dimly lit rooms and surly grounds of his early home in Cokeworth produced a man that was in many ways a reflection. But as a child, Severus knew little more than the sharp tongue of his mother and the wicked backhand of his father. He kept his nose to his books, helping his mother, Eileen and avoiding Tobias when he could, and for a while, it wasn’t so bad. His father only lashed out when he made mistakes, or when he misbehaved - although both were few and far between - the boy was smarter than that. But it all took a turn for the worse when he started showing his magic in earnest, and that was when he started to come to loathe his father. After all, Severus couldn’t help what he was - he had been born this way, whether he’d wanted to be or not. If Tobias wanted to blame someone, he should have blamed his wife - or himself, for marrying a witch in the first place. But even taking his father into account, he wouldn’t trade his magic for anything, relishing the small moments where his mother would show him more, teaching him tricks as they did the chores before Tobias came back home, although those moments were rare. His mother seemed to largely ignore Severus because it was what Tobias expected of her - but it didn’t keep them from fighting regardless, and their misplaced anger and unhappiness often found itself aimed at their son. Magic was Severus’ escape - it was what made him unlike his father. It was what made him better.

So, when he found Lily Evans, it wasn’t hard to imagine his excitement. She was like him. She was magical, and not only did she understand, but she was actually interested in what he had to say. She listened to him, actually wanted to spend time with him - not like the other kids in town that called him names and made fun of him for being poor. Lily was different, and Severus quickly came to care for her a great deal. In truth, she was the first person in his life to give him the time of day. She wasn’t just his only friend, she was his best friend. He spent as much time with her as he could, even though largely it meant having to deal with her annoying, non-magical older sister Petunia. Her sister who treated Severus exactly how the other muggle children did. Her sister who was like his father - not understanding, and cruel. She would never understand, she wasn’t like them - and Severus doubted even then that she would ever treat any of them any better. None of them did, why should she be any different?

He thought it might get better when he got his Hogwarts letter, but if anything, it got worse as his father tried to keep him in submission in spite of his growing power - his fear coming out in the same usual ways. But it didn’t matter - because come September 1st, he was gone. From the moment he sat down at the long Slytherin table, Hogwarts was more than he could have ever imagined. Finally, he was home. A place he wouldn’t have to hide who he was - where there were nothing but his own kind, people who understood him. His clothes might still be more worn than the rest, but they were always clean and his meals were always hot, and he thought there couldn’t possibly be any place better than here, and just the thought of coming back every year helped him make it through the long summers with his parents back at Spinner’s End. He was finally able to use his intelligence in a way he had yearned to for years, and from the very beginning he was one of the best in his class, excelling in particular in Potions and the study of the Dark Arts - the latter being of particular interest to him.

But being in Slytherin had started to drive a wedge between Lily and himself, at first simply because their time together was now much more limited. But as she became closer to her housemates, and him to his, they drifted further and further apart, a fact that weighed heavily on Severus. It was clear that she wasn’t a fan of his new friends, and he, in turn, would never understand her tolerance of her own housemates - especially the annoying boy James Potter who played ringleader, along with Sirius Black and his ragtag team of idiots. They treated him as poorly as the muggles had - if not worse- and his hatred toward them was nearly even stronger, but it only thickened the tension between himself and Lily, until finally, he lashed out at the one person he’d promised himself he would never hurt. Mudblood. He’d never said it before, and it slipped through his lips in misplaced anger - perhaps he was more like his father than he thought. As he watched Lily turn from him, he knew he had cast the last shadow onto their friendship. A desperate and angry Severus took the Dark Mark not long into his seventh year, shedding the last remnants of the man he once could have been.

Once graduated, he decided to start in on perfecting his craft, relishing the feeling of being better than almost everyone in the subject of potions. He quickly grew the business of the small shop in Knockturn Alley, and his reputation allowed him to drop the pleasant façade when dealing with customers (not that he was ever very good at it to begin with), as they would come to him regardless, since his product wasn’t easily rivaled. But still, he spent as much time away from people as he could, and he grew restless. He wanted more, no matter what it looked like.

Dealing with the general public grew too tiresome for him, and when an opportunity to return to Hogwarts arose, he jumped on it, much to the delight of his master. The prospect of dealing with children day in and day out didn’t exactly excite him, but the school had been his only real home, and the price was worth it, as it would bring some semblance of privacy he was lacking in his current position. Brewing had always brought him a quiet peacefulness he rarely felt anywhere else, and he could let his mind wander uninterrupted. Plus, the Dark Lord needed someone with the knowledge, and who better than Severus himself? He found himself in a dark spiral, growing more and more secluded, bitter, angry and separated from the world as he was - but he wasn’t sure that he cared. After all, it was nothing he wasn’t very, very used to.
