So far we have gotten Mingukkie, Jungji and Jimkook. Bighit, Jimin and Jungkook must know that their most popular unit name is Jikook so I really wonder why they are all avoiding that name like a plague. I mean we have seen the company or members make reference to other unit names like taekook, Minimoni, Vhope, Sope and even Yoonmin. So why do they choose to come up with so many different names instead of just using Jikook which is the most common and popular unit name for Jimin and Jungkook? I find it kinda weird but maybe it’s just me.

The Life of a Jikooker, Online and Offline

Sometime last year I revealed my real first name on Twitter. Though I am known more prominently as “Wingzie”, a name given to me by a good friend of mine, I wanted to add a bit more of a human touch to my account. It was a reminder that, even if I spend a rather large amount of time making posts, I also have a life away from the screen. There's been a few occasions when my army life and personal life have become interlinked.

I am lucky enough to have made wonderful friends since becoming Army. Thus, I will always say that your fandom experience and enjoyment will depend on who you interact with and what you engage with. It's because of these friends that I have been to South Korea or gone to Olle in London for BTS’ tenth anniversary. I've explored new local places or exchanged gifts. It's also because of these friends that I felt safe enough to talk about Jikook in my first ever group chat in 2019. I feel a certain love and connection between us, online and offline, that I don't think many others will understand. 

However, there is a certain loneliness in being a jikooker. I have been unfairly judged or dismissed just for talking about them. Either individually or as a unit. It calls into question why this is. I personally do not see myself as a shipper. The definition of a shipper is that you WANT them to be together and that is not the case with me or many other jikookers at all. The definition of shipping has changed so much that we are seen as bad people just for talking about them, when we are just talking about their moments together.

In the last few months or so I have experienced more of an Army life outside of Twitter. I have been to various offline events and spoken to so many and I couldn’t help but notice two things: 1) Jikookers have a terrible reputation

2) People are scared to talk about them as a unit compared to others. The first part can be somewhat understandable and it’s why I never bother fighting. It brings negative attention to them, when we should be boosting them instead. All they see are people just attacking each other and it is sadly true that a small number of Jikookers are Tae antis. I have left a few group chats because of that or because of ex-jikookers hating on Jimin or Jungkook. However, there are also a huge number of us that DON'T behave this way and it depends on what you focus on.

At a previous event I bumped into a local Tae bias. She clearly knew who I was and was under the impression that I hated Tae. I soon proved her wrong but I guess this is where some of the problems lie: There are a lot of focus on stereotypes, without giving us the chance to prove otherwise. I have also been to events where Army have cited misinformation and they needed to be corrected. I am aware that not everyone has my memory, but they were so callous about their comments that I was shocked. There was a huge disconnect between reality and what they were thinking and it is so important to check sources. Especially when BTS' history and ours is so rich and can be easily accessible in this social media age. 

Being scared to talk about Jikook is something that will always confuse me. I joined a BTS Discord and left shortly afterwards when I realized that they had a channel for every until apart from Jikook. I also went to an event shortly after the “You can handle it” Weverse Live and the group I was with mentioned every single part of that Live, apart from when Jimin was in the comments. They also said some things about Jungkook that made me feel really uncomfortable and they ignored what I was trying to say. They saw him as a puppet, for their own desires, rather than his own person. And I think that is also something I have seen on the increase lately. It should be allowed and in fact encouraged to talk about them as a unit without being shamed for mentioning them together. Ignoring them doesn't help either.

I am Jimin and Jungkook biased, but the definition of having a bias itself has also changed. You cannot say you have a bias now without automatically saying “but I love all of them”, when that should go without saying. I have seen this change since Mots:7 and it emphasises how much the fandom definitions have changed and how it has also shaped our communities. I have been to other events where I am sadly seen as an anti, once they find out my Twitter ID. My account includes all members, I just happen to post about Jikook and their moments most of all and there is nothing wrong with that. Ultimately, I wrote this without any clear message or goal in sight. I just wanted to express what I have experienced and my feelings about it. I will always cherish the memories I have with those that are closest to me and our beautiful conversations about BTS or Jikook. I just wish others did the same and understood what this community is actually about, online and offiline. My account will always be a safe place for all the members and I refuse to be villainized for talking about Jikook at the same time.  Much Love Wingzie/Becca

What's funny is, Tkk wanted validation from JK so bad after Taennie in Paris. On their knees begging for JK to free them & Tae from his girlfriend. Begged JK to speak up, show anger, jealousy and got nothing. What they got instead was Jk coming live, dancing, talking about Jimin & singing his song when Paris happened. They wanted him to hate Jennie & show her who Tae belongs too, but got him unbothered watching her show at Coachella & also at her CK show. Boy, he really showed her. lol. They wanted him to start up Tae lives, gush over & claim him, but he did that with Jimin instead. I see now why Jk made sure others were around when he & Tae went out in public and then would come home after & do a live showing they went their separate ways after. He said these are friend outings, not dates, don't get it twisted. Even sat behind Tae at that Harry concert & even explained why Tae & Hobi was at his house and that Tae really did show up to his show unexpected. He said y'all ain't trapping me. They wanted TK to enlist together to disprove Taennie, they got Jikook enlisting instead. They wanted TK to walk through the airport & go on private vacations & debunk Taennie, but they got Jikook doing that instead. This lie with this lady has been happening for a long time & then Jk's leak/rumors started. And guess what? It was who went out together right after. Going out publicly spending multiple couple days together & vacationing alone multiple times & enlisting together, standing united through it all. Jk saying he has no girlfriend & goes the other way, which is Jimin's way, the way he went & who he's with today. Jimin said all that needed to be said in Letter & shyly exposed himself & let down his guard down, but he needed his message to be heard loud & clear by Jk & everyone else. Tkk relied on Tae to name drop JK to help them cope, since JK wasn't doing anything. Which is funny cause Tae was the one really hurting them, so they took it out on JK and blamed him for not helping their their flopped ship. He said NO. Everything they wanted Jk to do for their ship and Tae, he done for him and Jimin instead. And that tells me all I need to know.

The louder Tkk got, the louder Jikook got. The louder Taennie got, the louder Jikook got. The louder this rumor got, the louder Jikook got. The louder Jk's rumors got, the louder Jikook got. It's almost like Jikook don't want rumors attached to them, unless it's with each other. Jikook freed themselves from baseless lies & rumors And has remained together side by side through it all and that is what has tkk & Jikook antis seeing red and pissed.

Did it strike you as odd that we got a scene there at all?? That JK was there? That they decided to set it up and that the scene became (or was set up to be) a moment to talk about Jimin’s depression as remarked by an unnamed 'friend'?

I did watch it! I admit I’m one of those that shares a family members’ account and so was able to watch all the episodes when they aired.

Jimin’s Place

I don’t really know how to feel about Jimin and Jungkook having a parts of the episode together at Jimin’s place. It did feel weird because Jimin in particular had until recently not shown use even the edges of his TV! Us loosing it over his billboard number 1 live and seeing a chair?! Then the live with his house tour?? I still don’t believe that was not a dream

All I can say is it’s Jimin’s place and if he allowed the cameras in, in 2022, when this was filmed then he was comfortable enough. He had confidence in the show showing what he felt comfortable with showing. Jin, Hobi, Jungkook & Yoongi didn’t show their places, so if he didn’t want to, I’m sure he wouldn’t have to.

What was the reason 🗣️

I kinda felt like the whole point of the show was to continue the mantra of Bangtan, that they love ARMY and they love each other, among other things.

I found it crazy sus that they showed the members as a whole unit and they showed them as individuals but the only two they showed in different setting was Jikook, not just cooking, drinking, talking and eating together but also making music together, with the parts of the recording of ‘Letter’ being shown.’

It was soo hard to ignore though!! They literally had Yoongi eating chicken alone, Namjoon cleaning his place alone, Tae chilling in his place and eating alone but Jikook cooking together, eating together, laughing together, being introspective and honest in front of each other.

What does it meeaaaannnn?!

The same way it’s being drummed into our heads that BTS love performing, love ARMY, love each other and are also individuals…I feel like it was also being drummed into our heads the reality of the closeness of Jikook?

That one can call the other over and they spend time together and do thing none group/work related. BUT that they also can rely on each other in anyway work related, including solo works. That there is nothing not accessible to each other when it comes to Jikook?

Jungkook has access to Jimin’s home, kitchen and also studio sessions during their solo careers, that Jimin can call on him and give him that access, that it’s mutual?

I mean we not only have this from the Monuments show, we have their companionship enlistment and the ‘coming soon’ Jimin & Jungkook show. It’s like neon signs on the closest duo in the group, at least to me. I LIVE! I LOVE IT! I can’t wait for more of it, however Jikook want to give it to us.

The ‘Friend’

In regards to the ‘friend’ that Jimin speaks about in his story, the one he had a little fight with, that he went to help move the next day and said he thought Jimin might be depressed. I personally don’t think it was Jungkook.

For me, it’s just because I don’t see the need to think that Jikook are each other’s only friends and only people they know. We know Jimin is a very loyal and loving friend. We know that he has friends that aren’t famous as well as those that are. Him not mentioning the name of his friend and just referring to them as ‘friend’ may not have been due to him ‘hiding in plain sight’ with Jungkook but more like just protecting the privacy of a non-celeb friend OR a celeb friend.

If Jimin wanted to say ‘Jungkookie and I were having a drink the other day and talking’ he could have, it would have been no different than him saying how Jungkook came to his hotel room several times day or night, multiple times on live and on the PTD DVDs. No different than him talking and drinking with Jungkook there in camera.

I do feel like Jungkook had heard the story before, but not because Jungkook was the friend in question, but because Jikook are close and talk to each other and Jimin would most likely have told Jungkook about this around the time it happened.

I have one “thing” that I want to say and it’s super crazy😂I call it a “thing” because I really don’t know how to name it especially when I know that I’m biased towards both JK & Tae and their relationship regardless of what it is and you want to lable it👍

What if everything that we’ve seen so far (literally since 2017/2018 when I first kinda felt the first change of vibe and behavior in their interactions) is just a scenario to help Jungkook and Taehyung out with their coming out process? (Like it has multiple phases which are all written in their contracts.)

SK is homophobic and coming out will change many things (change = ruin) and I do know well that it’s all WISHFUL THINKING but I personally believe (a part of me) that many things are play to help them come out and they’ve been taking all these measures to reduce the impact of its consequences and we will see more of these measures in the years to come…even Jennie and the girl in the footage from JK’s apartment and Dispatch😁 (Money, Money, Money💸) (To this day, I still cannot believe that TaeNnie’s associated contents were edited or that one footage was not JK in his apartment with Bam and that girl and the weird stance that Dispatch has taken over the years).

Call me crazy (I know I am one😂) but this is how a part of my mind thinks and I’m crazy enough to share it with ya’ll😂

Like HYBE has been taking all measures possible to make sure that everything is confusing about TaeKook (ITS talk / Promoting JiKook / Hiding TaeKook / TaeNnie, to name some) until the right time comes😂

Hi anon! So I asked @peachjagiya if I could post first, because I always feel some kind of way about answering the same asks.

Basically, I understand what you are saying.. I love the hopefullness, but I don't think this is what's happening.

I think what we have been seeing is that Tae and Jk are being more and more portrayed as close friends. I think they themselves have worked on that the hardest, because it matters to them. I don't think Hybe actually cares about them and their private lives enough to bother to try and help them. When the time comes for them to come out (and I think it will, but probably not for a few years... 5, possibly 10), Hybe will work out a plan to make them come out and benefit of that as much as they can, but before that.. I'm pessimistic. Taennie happened for a reason, and it was (for Tae's part) to keep people thinking he loves women. They are making a comeback next year, which is not the right time for a potential scandal. What Hybe will do to seed the news of a coming out, is let Dispatch publish increasingly more pics of Tae and Jk out. At dinner, visiting each other's places, on holiday, and at a certain point perhaps holding hands. That will take place over a couple of months.. so relatively fast, and it will end with an official announcement (if they are still with Hybe at the time). I tend to think that it's possible for them to come out individually first.. but I'm not sure what that will do for speculations, and if that's something they would want before coming out as a couple.

For me personally, Tae and Jk and everything around them isn't confusing at all. They fell in love, that was a problem and Bh tried to hide them. I'm never going to believe anonymous sources on the internet with clear signs of editing over Tae and Jk themselves, but I understand why it throws people off.

I don't really think Hybe is portraying much of a narrative with AYS to be honest. I think all of them are portrayed as good friends, which is truly all I need. I'm sure Jm will be put in the middle a lot, and I'm expecting to see more Vmin cuteness than Tkk cuteness for sure. But when I think about what we came from.. this is already so much. Pleassssseeeeeee, let it be Tae and Jm sharing the bed in jeju though 😂.

As delusional as they are, it’s kind of interesting watching Tkkrs construct their version of events in real time.

I’m usually working when an episode of AYS airs, so I always see their take on things hours later, and after already having seen other people’s opinions. But to be one of the people who watched it a little earlier, so I saw the scenes before seeing anyone else’s opinions, I can genuinely say, it’s honestly almost fascinating to watch them squirm.

People can think whatever they want about JM and JK and their bond, but to see Tkkrs go from “Jimin was the third wheel!” as they cropped him out of stills or as they claimed Tkk were cuddled up despite it being a quick photo, last week to seeing how they are almost completely ignoring the show this week is wildly funny.

The Jikook tag on Twitter is currently a lot of “Jokers will always be Tae’s number one fan!” “Jokers can’t keep Tae’s name out their mouth!” “Even after all their so-called moments, Jokers only care about Tae!” even though there aren’t actually a lot of Tae centered posts coming from Jikookers. And when they’re not trying to claim Jikookers are for whatever reason focused on Tae, they’re saying all the Jikook moments that happened this episode don’t matter, because Tae and JK went on a trip without cameras, while Jimin and Jungkook said in episode one they hadn’t seen each other in a bit.

I don’t know. It just really interests me how they are so comfortable and so confident in how they decide what matters and what doesn’t, and how they twist whatever else is left to be in their favor. Are You Sure? was scripted bullshit for a year, plus the first two episodes. Episode three was proof JK actually wanted Tae, and Jimin was the tagalong. Now episode 4 is irrelevant because Tkk went on a trip last year or whenever, without filming it.

Their reasoning is so extremely unreasonable, lol. Because why watch a show you know revolves around two members you hate seeing interact? At the same time though, them watching the show and being so angry at JM and JK and Jikookers tells me they really do understand where plenty of Jikookers are coming from.

Not shipping Jikook is fine. Disliking the idea that Jikook are together is fine, but it doesn’t make them any less questionable, and I think people who are watching the show are realizing that more and more.

Jimin and Jungkook went from being attached at the hip during the duration of the group being active. When they paused to enlist, JM and JK, in their own words, drifted. Again in their own words, JM and JK realized they weren’t seeing each other often and decided to rectify that by blocking out a long weekend to go on vacation with just the two of them, and chose to document it. Upon having fun, they decided to extend their filming and vacation in more places, again, just the two of them. Once the show was complete, JM and JK did not then go back their separate ways. They enlisted in the military as a collective unit. A choice they made prior to their vacationing being done.

The entire existence of AYS is honestly just a reminder of how much the two of them value their relationship, whatever it may be. Episodes 1, 2, and 4 specifically. They show how much they enjoy being in each other's space, and how much they click with one another, even though they have close and loving relationships with the other members.

So seeing Tkkrs seemingly come to genuinely understand that, yet hate it, is quite a thing to witness. None of us know the status of JM and JK’s relationship, and we honesty don’t need to. But to watch Tkkrs realize it is fully not at all what they want it to be (as in, Jungkook hates Jimin and Tae is the person he prefers to be with) is something to behold. Because no matter how angry they get, what new scenarios they create, or how much they ignore, the reality is what it is.

Jimin and Jungkook want to be around each other, and they enjoy being around each other. They make each other laugh and smile, and people who watch them together in their actual lives, all agree that they click. I would say I hope Tkkrs come around someday, but I think it’s too late. They’ve made up their minds and will never see the joy JM and JK bring each other, because they’ve built an entirely different world in their heads about what’s going on

I want to discuss something with you all. I've seen a few reblogs throwing shade at the Discord that has been created to protect Jimin and Jungkook. I won't throw shade. I will be direct.

Bloggers like Chikoorita and maybe other reblogs that I haven't come across (I don't follow any of these blogs, just to be clear) are all making it seem like the stuff we are doing in Discord is spreading hate.

I want to clear that misinformation because it affects the Discord. As long as people keep throwing shade, less people will be willing to step up to protect Jk and Jm.

We are NOT spreading hate. We are simply reporting pages and providing unedited proof. Facts, that is all.

Example:

And reporting pages that call them names or have them photoshopped into porn and other things like that.

No one is saying a single negative thing about any member. We are not dragging anyone. No one is being a bad person.

I really want to emphasize this. We are not dragging any member to make Jikook look better. There is no need.

For me, saying I love Jikook is about celebrating their bond but also protecting them because I remind myself they are actual people, not just pretty characters that I sometimes watch on my screen.

I always said "Protect Jm and Jk" but never did anything about it. And I got to this Discord and realized how much people actually do DAILY. FOR YEARS. That is love and dedication. I'm in awe of all these amazing people who are working hard to protect Jikook.

I don't understand why other Jikookers throw shade and are passive aggressive to other Jikookers. Tkkrs don't do this and look at the huge mess they've managed to believe. If Jikookers united this way, we could do so much for Jimin and Jungkook.

I'm not one to give explanations for what I do, but it seems like it is needed here. Especially if people are making these posts that indirectly call out our Discord instead of addressing things directly and it is affecting the hard work that is being put into this.

I think...…. basically... I don't think it's crazy? But I don't know if i'm there. Does that make sense?

I am a cynic but it's a front. I'm actually very soft and squishy and I'm an optimist at heart. And there's a tiny bit of me that wonders if BigHit have been protecting them all this time?

But then I think about how they've treated Tae poorly individually, the criticism they've let JK face, and actually, the pressure this truth-bending places on Tae, JK and Jimin and I struggle to applaud them?

I think any positive representation about Taekook has come from Taekook themselves and the truth of their relationship being undeniable. You can't make people be something they aren't. The truth is always kind of there in the background.

Maybe they supported in so much as buying them some time with the Ta3nnie media play or JK's apartment shenanigans. Maybe?

I don't know. I'm conflicted. What I do suspect, and I guess what I was getting at in the ask you linked, is that there might be a different approach to Taekook post-military and that maybe right now they're laying out stepping stones towards... not coming out, as such, but towards honesty? Towards not pretending anything is anything and just presenting themselves as they are?

But yet again, I don't know if I believe that to be company led. I believe that to be Tae and JK putting their foot down.

This feels messy but that's just what my thoughts are. 😂

Hey Storm, i am some what a baby army and i just very recently found your blog because i picked an interest in Jikook and wanted to know more about them. Going through your blog has been like a breath of fresh air. I love how you present the information you know about Jikook and i love how you ALWAYS back up your claim with facts. When i need credible information about Jikook your blog is the first place i run to and i am grateful we have someone like you here.

So as i said, I developed an interest in jikook and i am trying to gather my facts about them so i am not deceived by edits and wrong information. I do believe Jikook are a thing but sometimes i get a lil confused by some of the things i see about taekook. I don’t think Taekook are a couple ofcourse but i would like to have more information on somethings that happened when i wasn’t in the fandom yet.

So one of the biggest moments for taekooker is the Atomix date. I don’t have alot of details of the whole thing but i know Jk posted a selfie with Tae which was taken at the restaurant and according to some taekookers, the restaurant made a post and tagged taekook and thanked them for coming. But i am a little confused cuz i’ve seen so many shippers and non shippers claim that all of BTS were at the restaurant, not only taekook. They mentioned someone emailed the restaurant and they confirmed that BTS were all there. But tkkrs insist it was just Tae and Jk and that Jk made a reservation 6 weeks earlier and they even got to go on a day, the restaurant wasn’t normally open. Do you have more details about this?

Me, forgetting that baby armys weren't here during the whole atomix thing because it feels like that all happened yesterday.... but I guess in reality that was 2 years ago. So it tracks 😭😂

September 2021, after the MET, BTS went out to eat at Atomix and JK posted a 3 photo series on his Instagram (he has since deleted his insta and everything on it 😭) of him and him and Tae in the Atomix bathroom mirror. They looked GORGEOUS.

And tkkrs took it and ran with the idea that it was then a taekook date. Would've been a nice dinner out together if it was, but it was confirmed by a staff members friend who was an ARMY and a Tae bias (not a shipper) that all of BTS and their management and staff were there. i find it interesting that jikookers as a unit can’t decide on anything. you have:

diehard shippers - will believe jikook are real no matter what. most likely say “i don’t ship i support.” most don’t want to engage with anti rhetoric, others will write think pieces to defend jikook.

shippers lite edition - upon receiving new information, will try to remain rational in shipping. may boil jikook down to their bond rather than declaring they’re romantically involved. to some, maybe lumped in with “insecure shippers”

“insecure” shippers - these are the people who get targeted in the tags for being “suseptible to tkkr rhetoric.” they’re either too deep in the ship that anything that doesn’t meet their lofty expectations means jikook is fake or they’ve been reading tkk blogs. this also encompasses reformed jikookers who come back to the tags to say, “i used to be a jkker, but i’ve left.”

then you have the branches from there: whether or not you fight back.

ot7 shippers - in the name of all the members, condemns any “hate” criticism launched at other members from jikookers. they’ll compare you with the worst of tkker for saying tae shouldn’t be on are you sure.

shipper stans - immediately on the jikook offensive, targeting tkkers first and foremost, then pjms, jjks, kths, etc. their ideology is why not call them out on their bullshit publicly, report and block, to tear them down. these are also the first line of defense in the jimin defense team against tkkr/jm anti rhetoric, which is often vile and utterly disrespectful.

so any configuration of this interacting with another (like an ot7 diehard x diehard shipper stan, or a shipper stan diehard x ot7 insecure) will not go down well. this past month has been a lot of policing in the tags and on twitter on how we should be moving as jikookers.

is there really harm in following and spreading the report alert accts to try to minimize jimin hate? is there any harm in trying to think rationally about shipping two real individuals? is there any harm in thinking critically about bts from a jkk perspective? is there any harm in believing in jikook to the point of no return?

shipping is supposed to be fun and kept away from the artists, in fandom terms. yet we have turned it on its head due to the reality: tkkers are some of the loudest voices in the whole fandom who project horrific rhetoric on to jimin and jungkook separately and together. since everyone has their own way of interacting with shipping culture, those who don’t agree with a certain direction call this current tag situation or dominant twt timeline exhausting, weak and pathetic. when the opponent is tkkrs, this is bound to be exhausting due to their level of delusion and vile rhetoric toward jkkrs and jimin and jungkook themselves.

i don’t understand why we can’t seem to understand where others are coming from, respect the space of the tags which we all share from tagging our personal blogs, and disengaging with people if they truly ruin the shipping experience for you. there are times where people are blatantly incorrect or mouthpieces of the tkker voice, but everything turns into an all out war.

Okay, now that I'm done with the sarcasm...

Aside from the fact that it was something Jimin wanted to do, why did the company suddenly think of it and agreed to it now. (Unless we eventually find out other details about why and how, but I don't know if I'm even going to be here when that happens, so).

Jungkook and Jimin is a pairing that has always worked in many ways, like with the couple of dance units they've had in BTS stages. Or the couple of songs they've sung together, etc.

Apart from that, yes they are the most popular (read popular as in people OUTSIDE OF THE FANDOM have seen them/interacted with their content or music at some point/etc), so all in all I agree that their individual popularity could be a reason.

That's also related to the reach the content has. I've never been one of those people that cry about jikook not being loved; I never cared about that for several reasons that are not relevant right now. One of the reasons that's relevant tho, is that taekook might get the most likes or retweets on their content... but nobody causes conversation the way Jimin does. Whether it's good or bad, Jungkook or Taehyung each on their own, or together, they don't cause conversation. I'm not gloating or anything about Jimin getting hate because I hate it, and I hate when people are like "oh jimin they're hating on you you'll always be famous", but it's a fact that whenever Jimin is involved in something, people will talk about it. I mean, there's a reason his name can't trend in twitter anymore because of the volume of tweets in which he's mentioned every day.

Another thing, probably unpopular, many probably won't get it, and I think that people just don't realize it's happening: Jimin makes Jungkook look good. He makes Jungkook looked loved and worthy of being loved.

Not too long ago I rewatched the hunger games and in the first movie something happens with Katniss and Peeta, I think it was him saying he was in love with her or something. And Haymitch says it was good that Peeta had said that because he'd made Katniss looked desirable. Now, she was perceived as the object of affection of someone.

It's something I've talked about before, how the narrative about Jungkook and the way people perceived him changed when his ships got bigger attention.

This happens to a large scale with all of BTS members, btw. We're just talking specifically about two right now, but the "X member loves Y member, how could you hate them?!" is probably the biggest example of that.

So, there's that too. Jimin's way of treating Jungkook has A LOT of weight on what people think of Jungkook. It might even be a reason of why some pjms can't even stick to one side and are more or less constantly changing their feelings about him.

That's also why I think that if it was solely and exclusively the company calling Jimin up to do this, it was tailored to happen around Jungkook's debut and not before. Because it is good for Jungkook's image.

Finally, Jimin being Jimin. I think many people do a big disservice to Jimin when they talk about why and don't realize how amazing Jimin's personality is. Jikookers especially overlook how awesome, kind, sweet and great he is. They collectively ignore how every single person who's ever met Jimin has made a point to talk about how sweet and kind he is. To most jikookers It's all about how he is with Jungkook when a large part of that is not even about Jungkook, but just how Jimin was raised and how he treats everyone he loves.

Jungkook gets to be a lovely maknae bla bla bla. To jikookers, Jimin's selflessness and beautiful soul only gets talked about in relation to Jungkook.

So another factor of the whole thing is that Jimin's got a GREAT personality. Jin, Hoseok, Jimin, they've always been the one lighting up the mood and making people laugh and taking care of everyone. They're the life of the party, literally. And the company must realize this, too. They're not stupid. They know what works for entertainment and what doesn't. Didn't Jungkook say in that preview that as soon as Jimin arrived it was chaos? Jimin is genuinely so much fun.

It works because Jimin is who he is. It's not even about Taehyung and Jungkook, but it wouldn't work with Yoongi and Jungkook, either. It would be boring simply because they're not Jimin. You can watch any live with Jimin + other member and it's almost always interesting and funny because Jimin makes up for a lot of the mood between two people.

Your experience as a Jikookers is the same as the experience of Taekookers. Extreme shippers fighting and having meltdowns on the TL make a lot of people equate the unit name with these behaviors.

Sadly the first thought that came to my mind when Jimin mentioned JK is that tkk would make a scene about it. Instead of just feeling relief they are doing well, or just comfort we're getting news, I felt dread. And the worst is I was right.

I'm really struggling with the state of the fandom now, especially twitter fandom. People say you just have to curate your online experience and most sane armys are just taking a break from SNS and everything will get better once the guys start coming back from MS. I'm not this optimistic.

I've been thinking finding fellow ARMY irl could be better. But there's still a good chance to meet someone you would block straight away online.

I'm not a very social person. I used to come online to find people remisniscing, celebrating, sharing.. There's always been hating but now it feels like it's only hating (and comparing numbers). There was a clear shift from COVID on. It's not just solo endeavors and MS. You said it, how the way to handle things has changed.

I don't know how to fend off all the negativity any more than I know how to casually meet ARMY offline. I dream of an ARMY community manager, of a campaign about mental heal, abusive relationships (how many think they know better than the members what's good for them and think they are actually showing love and support when they are just being abusive), how to make the parasocial relationship a positive thing, etc.... A lot of these people who make ARMY spaces unbreathable actually need help.

Hi Anon! I'm sorry you feel this way. I feel like some Army experienced feelings of anger or betrayal since the Festa Dinner, which has made them unfairly lash out on the members. Some cannot cope that we lost an aspect of control, but this has always been the members decision and we have to accept that with respect. As I said in my other post, the heart of Army is massively the same. Just this morning I saw a Tweet about the Purple Ocean from Muster and it reminded me of the Flashlight project during PTD. There will ALWAYS be discourse online. That is the reason for it's existence. I am in other fandoms and they all suffer from the same issues since Covid and Elon. However, for every "bad" person or post, there are plenty of good ones out there. If you look for then. I mentioned to someone yesterday that it's like when people always leave awful reviews for a bad meal, but very rarely mention when they have a good meal. That's why I always try to find a balance. Both Jimin and Namjoon have told us over the years to not engage with negativity and I have always taken those words to heart. Things in online spaces have changed, but I guess I am more of a fighter and optimist. For each negative post I see, I spend more time posting/repositing posts that spread positivity or praise. I see no point in boosting some random February 2024 account sprewing hate. We have to be responsbile or our own spaces and I DO think things will improve once Jin returns. There's still that shared joy and excitement whenever a member posts or content comes out. It's just that the negative is less contained than it used to be. As for events offline. My first event was for a local screening of one of the concerts. I then attended a few events for members Birthday's. With the HYYH anniversay coming up, maybe you could look into seeing if there's any events for it? It's also Sope's Birthday soon and I plan to go to events for each of their Birthday's, so that could also be an option. However, if you dont' feel comfortable going in person, then that is perfectly acceptable. I'm sure there will be no judgement! We all have our own ways. For example, I always buy a mini cake for each members' Birthday haha. Though I had some negative experiences offline, there have been some really good ones. That's just how things are and then you can take the steps to protect yourself afterwards. I'm actually going to another event with the same group I mentioned before. If it doesn't go well, then I will just leave. If things have improved, then I will stay and enjoy myself. I understand it's not easy though, especially when we have certain expectations. Jm mentioned in his weverse post about himself being careful about social media now that he's a soldier is peak shade/comedy. Like, idk if it was just a coincidence that he posted that after taehyung's tk/McDonald's post on ig, but the timing was 👀😂. Idk if jikook's unit is more strict about posting on social media or if they just don't have that much down time in comparison to the others who are chronically online, but there's a clear difference. Yoongi is taking his vow of silence seriously, and jikook has only posted 2 or 3 times on weverse in 7 months. Hell we probably won't see or hear from jm again until hobi gets discharged in October.
