Tumblr media
Hello! I will take a Tommy x Reader drabble or one shot inspired by this GIF with lots of fluff, pretty please?!? :')
Tumblr media
A/N: Hi Jessyca! Thank you so much for your request! 🥰 I’m sorry it took me a little longer than expected but I hope you like it! The gif gave me some pre-war/young Tommy vibes so it’s set around that time. He's around 22/23 years old.
Warnings: None.
Word count: 850
A Sunny Afternoon
1912
Opening the front door, Tommy could hear the crying of their 4 month old baby. He made his way over to the nursery where he found his wife (Y/N) and their son Charlie.
(Y/N) was trying to calm the young boy who was fussing in her arms. Her hair was messy and she had a tired, distressed look on her face. She found Tommy standing in the door frame, looking at them both.
“Oh Tom… I’m so sorry we’re not ready yet. He-“ She sighed before continuing. “He just won’t stop crying. I tried everything.” She told him as she gently rocked Charlie.
“Don’t worry, love.” He answered her before walking over to her, pressing a kiss on her forehead. “Let me try so you can get ready, eh? Spend some time on yourself.” He added, taking Charlie from her. “Why are you making it so hard for your mom, boy?” He asked him, earning some more cries from Charlie.
“I didn’t even start preparing our food, I know you must be hungry after your work.” (Y/N)’s voice trembled, tears brimming in her eyes. Tommy grabbed her hand and pulled her closer to him. “Please don’t worry about it. I’ll help you, okay? I understand that it’s hard when he has days like this.” He wrapped his arm around her shoulders, kissing her head.
“I’m sorry, I’m just tired.” She sniffled. Listen, love. Don’t apologize. That picnic can wait and so can I.” Tommy assured her. (Y/N) took a deep breath and wiped the fallen tears off her face. “Now put on that pretty dress that you’ve been talking about for weeks because I can’t wait to see you in it.” He told her, a smile on his face causing her to smile as well.
Tumblr media
When she returned back to the nursery, it was quiet. Except for some mumbling from Tommy. “Mom always does her best for us, eh? Always.” He tickled the little boys belly, a few squeals were heard from the his mouth. (Y/N) smiled and made her way into the nursery.
Tommy looked up at her, his eyes moving over her body. “You look amazing.” He told her, a smile present on his face. “Thank you, Tommy.” She smiled at him. He got up from the chair he was sitting in and walked over to her. “You always do.” He added, kissing her softly.
(Y/N) returned the favor. “I’m not so sure about that.” She chuckled. “Oh but I am.” He told her while admiring her some more. She blushed, quickly focusing her attention on Charlie. “Daddy did a good job with you, hm? Did you just miss him?” She asked the little boy as she stroked his cheek. Charlie tried to grab her fingers.
“We made an agreement.” “Oh you did?” (Y/N) giggled. “I told him that if he stopped crying, we would go visit the horses on our way to the picnic.” Tommy explained, a soft chuckle escaped his mouth. “Oh well maybe I should try that the next time.” She joked.
Tumblr media
Once Tommy helped (Y/N) to make their sandwiches and packed all the other necessities in the basket, they left the house to go find their way to their usual picnic spot. As promised they stopped at the horses that could be found nearby.
When they arrived at their spot under the big oak tree, close to a small brook, (Y/N) sprawled out their blanket in the shade of the tree. Tommy took the basket and sat down, making himself comfortable. (Y/N) lifted Charlie out of the pram and joined Tommy on the blanket.
“I forgot to ask how your day at work was.” She said as she handed Tommy a napkin. “It was good. I was busy with the white stallion, he isn’t the easiest.” He told her while handing her sandwich. “We sold one of the horses so I have to say goodbye tomorrow.” He continued. “Oh really? The chestnut mare?” Tommy nodded. “But she’s going to a good home.”
“Wasn’t she one of your favorites?” (Y/N) asked him. “A bit, yeah. It’s sad to see her go but I think I’ll be busy enough with that stallion anyway.” He chuckled.
They both chatted away and enjoyed their food. (Y/N) noticed that Charlie had fell asleep and nudged Tommy carefully. He looked down at his son and smiled. “Look at him.” He breathed out. “So peaceful.” She added.
“He really is. Finally.” He joked. She chuckled softly, carefully stroking Charlie’s cheek. “Let’s get you comfortable as well.” Tommy told her.
He moved behind her and leaned his back against the tree. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her gently against his chest. “Better, eh?”
She turned her head to look at him, a smile tugging on her lips. “Much better.” “I thought so.” He commented before kissing her softly.
They spend a couple more hours under the oak tree, enjoying each others company and catching up on some well deserved sleep before it was time to head home again.

2024 Book Reviews (July-December)
5 stars
The Book of Elsewhere (Keanu Reeves and China Mieville, 2024): An immortal warrior (called Unute, nicknamed B) has been having a centuries-long existential crisis about his inability to stay dead and is now working for the US military (who find his berserker rages useful) in exchange for a way to end his immortality. Which sounds tropey but I found it written in a compelling way. Interspliced with the modern action is flashbacks to B sometimes committing to being a solitary killing machine and sometimes trying to have a normal everyday life (that he can't have living children of his own really messes with him). There's an equally immortal prehistoric pig trying to kill B, a goal that has to compete with the cult that can bring people back to life who also want to kill him. Very strange but appealing prose make for an interesting read.
Revenge of the Sith novelization (Matthew Stover, 2004): If you've ever wanted to experience the prequel movies in a more competent format, I would reccomend checking it out as it really shows why the Jedi Order fell at this pivotal point and makes Anakin sympathetic even amongst his many flaws. It also just has really evocative prose.
4 stars
Tiger Queens (Stephanie Thornton, 2014): Tells the stories of four women closely tied to the rise of Genghis Khan and his legacy. The characters and worldbuilding are compelling. The first third focuses on Borte, the first wife of Genghis Khan, who is a fierce character and makes a compelling look into the slow building of the Mongolian Empire. After her are Alaqai and Fatima, Genghis' daughter and a Persian captive respectively, and unfortunately the writing only does so much for the pacing issue here; Alaqai goes from a cautious friendship to suddenly being in love and Fatima abandons her revenge quest in favor of being an ardent supporter over the course of several timeskips. The pacing issue is kind of inevitable given the book goes from the very early days of the empire, to the competing heirs after Genghis Khan's death, and ending with Sorkhokhtani (one of Genghis' daughters-in-law) stabilizing the empire by placing her eldest son in power (her second son would become Kublai Khan). Overall I really enjoyed it.
2 stars:
The Comeback (Ella Berman, 2020): A young actress on the verge of being given a film award abruptly withdraws from public awareness; it is revealed that she was abused by the adults around her. One would expect this to be either a powerful perspective of a young woman who had been abused by Hollywood in general and her mentor in specific, or a psychological thriller about her enacting revenge on Able and ruining his career in return. Unfortunately it doesn't really manage to be either.
Coming Back (Jessi Zabarsky, 2021): This graphic novel has a cute cozy art style. I like what I think it's trying to say about tradition and when to move past it. Unfortunately it was hard to be drawn in; the worldbuilding and characters were frustratingly vague in the beginning and there wasn't enough there to win me back. The third act felt weak in general and especially the conflict resolution for the main relationship (one character does something selfish but it's her partner who has to apologize for being mad about it).
The Butcher and The Wren (Alaina Urquhart, 2022): It's a debut novel and feels like it. the writing, especially the delivery of information, feels really clunky at points. This is more of a novella than a full length novel and it really needed that extra space to breathe. It feels like a rapid chase with characters too shallow to hold my interest.
Nonfiction:
Sick Caesars (Michael Grant, 2000): The emotional and physical illnesses that multiple Roman emperors experienced and how it affected their reigns.
After the Stork (Saro Rosenquist, 2010): A study about postpartum depression and ways to prevent it.
Smoke Gets in Your Eyes (Caitlin Doughty, 2014):
Sipping Dom Perignon Through a Straw (Eddie Ndopu, 2023): An autobiography about his life with spinal muscular atrophy and his work as a disability activist.

Daddy!Tommy is literally one of my favourite subgenres of Peaky Blinders fanfics to read. He's always so sweet and loving and my whole heart just explodes. In short, I need to marry him immediately.
Tumblr media
Ahh, Cia!! Thank you for this lovely little gif!!! This scene between Tommy and Charlie was sweet (even with the underlying sadness of the circumstances they were placed in) - I figured why not do what I do best and spin it into some fluff?? There’s no warnings on this - it’s just a little conversation that popped into my head after I was watching the gif for a bit. Enjoy! 🥰
———
“Why are you feeding him that, Thomas?” (Y/N) asks after standing straight just in time to see her husband hand her son a sprig of leaves.
“It’s nothing that’ll hurt him, love,” Tommy answered, brushing off his wife’s concern.
“You’re going to spoil his dinner with it. The food’s almost finished,” she pointed out, motioning to the pot that was hanging over the fire.
“It’s only a few mint leaves,” he stated, glancing back at Charlie just in time to see him put yet another leave into his mouth, “he’s not going to get full on it alone.” He couldn’t deny that the young boy was really enjoying eating the mint leaves.
“If he’s like his father, he will,” she couldn’t help but say, a smirk forming on her face even though she tried hard to hold it back.
Tommy said nothing in response, only letting the slightest grin form on his face as he put another leaf into his mouth. There was no way he could argue her point…what (Y/N) said most certainly wasn’t wrong.

Saving this here so that I can read it every time I am in the mood to read something cozy and comforting.
Charlie's Lullaby
Tommy x Rosemary (OC, Charlie’s nanny)
Summary: After the loss of his wife, a grief-stricken Tommy is unable to care for himself or little Charlie. One night he finds Charlie's nanny comforting the child in the nursery and her advice leads to a solution for both father and son, bringing them closer than ever before.
Author’s Note: This was requested by @the-fangirl-diaries who wanted to read a fluffy fic about Tommy watching Charlie’s nanny comfort his child. There's a bit more angst in the beginning as Tommy navigates being a single parent, but it ends with fluff.
Warnings: nightmares, mention of blood
Tumblr media
The stillness of the house wasn’t bothersome to Rosemary. The last two years spent caring for her father had prepared her for an assignment such as this. The melancholy of a large house, devoid of laughter or cheer was too familiar. She’d learned to find her own sunshine even in the last hours of his life.
Therefore she made it her mission to bring joy to little Charlie Shelby, not yet two years old, whenever she could. The problem was his frequent nightmares. Despite having every toy and comfort imaginable, the child lacked the most basic comfort every young boy desperately needed. His mother had been killed months earlier in a tragic accident, the details of which were still unknown to his nanny. However, the chatter amongst the servants was enough to keep her from asking any further questions.
She’d grown fond of the late Mrs. Shelby, a fellow countryman, who treated her well and seemed to care deeply for her only child. She seemed far too young and beautiful to die. Little Charlie didn’t understand either, crying night and day for his mother. It took several weeks before Rosemary was able to lay him in his crib for the night without him waking every hour.
In truth, Mr. Shelby didn’t seem to fair much better than his young son. He rarely slept, pacing the halls with a glass of whisky in hand, staring at his wife’s portrait from the top stair. He never cried, but Rosemary often observed a pained expression on his handsome face that told her everything she needed to know about the horrible grief he was experiencing. She knew the look well because it was the same one her father had worn many years ago as he mourned her mother.
Although she wanted to say or do something for him, she knew it was not her place to intrude. When she was hired Frances had warned her that Mr. Shelby could be volatile and she heeded this warning even more considering the present circumstances.
Tonight as Rosemary placed her book upon the nightstand and turned out the light, she hoped it would be a peaceful evening without the cries of a child or the footsteps of a sleepless master. She tried not to think of her own exhausted limbs as she sunk into the soft mattress, hoping for a few hours of rest.
It was not to be. Just as her eyelids grew heavy and a light dream played upon her mind, Charlie began to wail. Rosemary sat bolt upright at the noise, ready to attend to him. Throwing on her robe and slippers, she bustled down the hallway to the nursery and found her charge standing in his crib. He rubbed his tired eyes with chubby fists, tears streaming down his cheeks.
“Shhh, Charlie. It’s alright, love. I’m here,” she assured him. As she drew closer, he raised his arms to his nanny in hopes of being rescued and she scooped him up, hugging him to her body tightly as she swayed and rocked him in her arms. “Did you have bad dreams again, little one?” she asked softly, caressing his hair. He hid his face in her neck, confirming her suspicions and she took him to sit in the large rocking chair in the corner.
“Want Mama…mama,” he mumbled his plea into her skin as hot tears trickled onto her night dress.
Rosemary held her breath as the words hit her ear, knowing she would have to explain it once more, the reality of the situation breaking her heart in two. “Your mam can’t be with you, Charlie. She’s in heaven with the angels,” she sighed. He sobbed until she stroked his back and asked, “Would you like a lullaby?”
His chest hiccuped against hers as he quieted, nodding slowly in affirmation. Then Rosemary raised her voice slowly as Charlie brought his thumb to his mouth for comfort.
“Over in Killarney, many years ago My mother sang a song to me in tones so sweet and low Just a simple little ditty in her good old Irish way"
The tune of the familiar lullaby half hummed, half sung soothed the child instantly. It might have been the vibration rumbling pleasantly over his cheek or the dulcet quality of her voice, but all the tension left Charlie’s tiny body. Rosemary closed her eyes as she allowed her mind to wander, not needing to concentrate on the lullaby she’d known since childhood and sung countless times before.
She found her thoughts straying to the well being of her employer. Remembering the dark circles under his eyes and she hoped she’d settled the child before he disturbed his father.
Stopping to take a breath, she listened for his footsteps in the hall and smiled to herself when she noted an absence of creaking floorboards.
Charlie began to squirm in her arms once more, signaling he had not yet succumbed to peaceful slumber. His tears continued along with a mournful wail as she resumed the chorus.
“Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li, Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, hush now, don't you cry! Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li, Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, that's an Irish lullaby”
It took a bit longer for Charlie to quiet this time, his sharp cries echoing down the corridor.
Tommy tossed fitfully in his sleep, the shouts of his brothers’ angry voices broken by the piercing scream of a woman who had caught sight of Grace’s bloody evening gown. It quickly turned to a baby’s cry and Tommy moved his head from left to right, looking for his son in the fray.
Half awake, half asleep he willed himself from his bed to find his son in an attempt to protect him from the attack. “Charlie, Charlie…” he mumbled, stumbling along the hallway, barely holding himself up by the railing along the stairs. Had he taken two steps to the left, he would have fallen down a long flight of stairs to certain doom, but Tommy continued on toward his child.
As he walked through the drafty old manor, Tommy woke and shook his head to rid himself of the dreams that so often plagued him. He was learning to spot them now, the idiosyncrasies more easily detected nowadays. However, he couldn’t always rely on his gut alone. He craved the certainty of seeing his child and feeling the weight of him in his arms to know that all was well.
Rosemary continued singing, unaware of Mr. Shelby’s presence as he approached the nursery.
“Oft in dreams I wander to that cot again. I feel her arms a-hugging me As when she held me then”
Looking up to find her employer standing in the doorway, she gasped involuntarily, but Tommy only placed a finger to his lips to silence her. He had taken note of his son’s docile posture and wanted nothing more than to observe him in repose. Taking a moment to compose herself, Rosemary began to hum once more.
“And I hear her voice a-hummin' to me as in the days of yore, when she used to rock me fast asleep outside the cabin door.”
Noticing how Charlie’s arms fell loose around her shoulders, Rosemary stopped the lullaby, watching Mr. Shelby carefully.
“Likes that one does he?” Tommy asked, voice rough and full of sleep.
“He does,” she answered quietly, stroking the child’s back absently.
“I like it too. I think I recall my wife singing it,” Tommy said, raking a hand through his hair, brows furrowed in deep thought.
“She said it was his favorite and I was to sing it to him when he was frightened,” Rosemary offered, casting her eyes to the ground.
“Mmmm,” Tommy agreed, the pain resounding through his chest. “I should have learnt it,” he confessed on a low breath. “He never asks for me, you know. Only his mum,” he admitted in a voice filled with hurt and shame at the thought of being a stranger to his own child.
Rosemary held her breath, unsure of how to answer as she watched the powerful man before her slump down against the wall, cradling his head in his hands.
“I could teach it to you if you like,” she replied, biting her lip in anticipation.
“Please,” was all he whispered, and she realized he was just as lost as the child she held in her arms.
Singing the tune once more, she noticed his head sway slightly as she sang. When she finished the last verse, she swore she saw a tear fall down his cheek in the dim light. Although, there was a note of joy in it as well, his lips curled in a half smile, eyes fixed on the photograph kept on Charlie’s dresser and Rosemary knew that some good had been done that night to bring father and son closer together.
—————————————-
Rosemary woke with a start, hearing an unfamiliar voice coming from the nursery. Leaping from the bed, she laced her robe and padded down the hallway with her heart in her throat. She wondered what noise could be coming from Charlie’s room at this hour.
As she rounded the corner and peered into the room, she stopped suddenly as she realized her services were not needed. Mr. Shelby stood at the edge of Charlie’s crib, bouncing the child in his arms as he hushed his cries with a tenderness she didn’t know he possessed.
Rosemary watched intently as Mr. Shelby crossed to the window whispering, “Good boy, good boy.” As Charlie’s cries lessened, her employer stood in quiet contemplation, looking out toward the gardens. A bright crescent moon shone down upon him, illuminating the silvery blue of Tommy’s eyes and the deep hollows of his cheeks from lack of appetite.
Reaching a chubby hand toward his father’s face in a bid for attention, Charlie caught his father’s gaze with a sob and a single plea, “Mama!” Tommy’s posture became rigid and his chin tilted toward the ceiling, searching the intricate molding for an answer to his troubles.
As Charlie whimpered, he looked down at his son, feeling the urge to confess the very thing he’d been unable to say since Grace died. On a shaky breath he admitted quietly,  “Mama’s not coming back so it’s just you and me.” Clearing his throat to dislodge the lump that had formed, he added reassuringly, as much for Charlie’s benefit as his own, “She’ll be with us in our hearts, cause we love her.”
Charlie cocked his head to observe his father as though he understood every word completely. Laying his head against his father’s chest for warmth, he stayed perfectly still and quiet as his father continued, “I’m not much good, Charlie. You’ll find that out soon enough, but I’ll do my best for you, my boy.”
With his back to her it was difficult to hear at first, just a low hum rising from the depths of his chest like a distant rumble of thunder. As Rosemary strained to hear, she realized Mr. Shelby was singing to his boy and her heart swelled at the recognition of the lullaby she taught him days before.
It took a moment for the shock to dissipate as she had never actually heard him sing the lyrics. He’d only spoken them back to her as he learned them, leaving her to wonder what his voice might sound like when raised in song.  Closing her eyes, Rosemary listened to the richness of his baritone as it began to fill the room, his confidence growing with each verse.
He took his time and sang the chorus a bit slower as it was clear he was relishing his new ability to soothe his son properly. And despite the slight rasp at the end of the notes due to his smoking, Rosemary couldn’t help but be impressed.
Opening her eyes once more, she drank in the sight of father and son as they clung to one another. Leaving them to their grief, she retired to her room for the evening in case she was called upon later.
——————————
Three months later…
Rosemary was helping Charlie finish the last of his breakfast when Mr. Shelby strode into the dining room looking more well rested than he had in months. Charlie was still waking at night, but not as much as he had before and Tommy found that singing helped them both relax. The fact that they were also using the time to bond was a revelation as Tommy never imagined he’d be close with his son after Grace's death.
He leaned over to place a tender kiss to the top of Charlie’s head before turning to Rosemary for an account of the two days he’d been gone on business. He was anxious to hear everything and Rosemary spared no detail.
As Tommy chain smoked, she dutifully gave her report of her charge's playtime and sleep schedule. Then a smile spread across her face as she informed her boss of the most important piece of news, “This morning when he woke, Charlie called out for you. Not me or his mam. Only you.”
Tommy’s eyes immediately darted up from his lighter, a forgotten cigarette hanging from his mouth as he sat dumbstruck. His lips began to curl in a slow smile that eventually reached his eyes, creasing the corners in genuine happiness. He plucked the cigarette from his mouth and studied it as he chuckled, “Well, how about that.”
Frances arrived to clear the table, looking from Tommy to Rosemary, wondering what had everyone in such high spirits. Although she didn’t wish to disturb the atmosphere because it was so rarely a joyful one.
Before she could ask, Tommy spoke up with a note of pride in his voice as he boasted, “He asked for me today, Frances. For the first time.”
“That’s wonderful, sir,” Frances beamed, before returning to the kitchen.
Lifting Charlie from his chair, Rosemary barely noticed Mr. Shelby rise to come and stand by her side. Touching her forearm, he said, “I wanted to say thank you.”
“For what?” she asked, slightly confused.
“Showing me how to be a better father,” he admitted, sincerity evident in his tone.
“I just taught you some words,” she said shyly.
“I’ll require a few more lessons though,” Tommy smirked. “I need more than one tune in my repertoire, eh?” he laughed and Rosemary joined him with Charlie clapping his hands in delight between them.

The original link is dead (at least for me), so here is one that works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBga7yYBJ6Y
I have shown this to almost every member of my family (some took a lot of convincing), all of them loved it despite initial misgivings (including one who listens almost exclusively to punk).
I played some of it for my mom, and out of curiosity we decided to check out the original version of one of the songs (I think it was for "Jessie's Girl/Squirrel"), the second the vocals came on, she screamed for me to turn it off. Which may give an indication of how different this is from the originals.
Even if you think you'll hate it, I highly reccomend giving it a one song trial (especially the first one)
If nothing else you'll appreciate how... not what you expected it was. (and give the comments a read, they are really great).
As an aside I don't think it is 1/16 of the play time, as the math doesn't really work out (a 3 minute song becomes 6), so I assume the 1/16 refers to music timing, but I have forgotten what little I knew about music notation, so take that with a grain of salt.

I am a massive fan of both of Jessie Burton’s previous novel, and so I was hugely looking forward to The Confession. Burton’s writing is mesmerizing, and it’s her character’s that really bring this story to life. Told in alternative timelines, The…

@onlyhoped LEFT A NIGHTMARE AFTER THE TONE: 🥝🥝🥝🥝🥝
Tumblr media
@thegothfiles - Tyler is one of the first writers I ever followed on tumblr, I know this because I followed him on my first blog, Alice’s blog, and we both happened to have heavy themes pertaining to My Chemical Romance on both of our blogs at the time, and both still do if you know where to look. Stumbling across their blog, aesthetics of my keen interests aside, I was completely mesmerized by their writing, their formatting. It gave me my first taste of what tumblr rp was like. Tyler has a multimuse blog which contains all original characters. Something I loved at first glance, and still adore whenever I check it out is that you can tell Tyler is a goth, and grew up on that shit in one way or another, another thing I can personally relate to. Not just cusa’ the aesthetics, but all of his muse faceclaims are related to the alt. subculture in some sort of way (Gerard Way, Frances Bean Cobain, Peter Steele, etc). While I could say Jessie is my favorite muse from his blog because he’s my oc Rosaliné’s canon husband, like most, my favorite has to be Jack. Take a chance, and dip your toes in. Tyler might not be on here 24/7, but whenever they’re online, it’s a thrill to have them back.
@killshope - I first followed Bastian back in 2019 on my oc blog for Rosaliné back before I first really got into Star Wars the way I am now. We didn’t get a chance to speak as much as I’d like up until recently, but I’m glad we got the chance to. We wrote a bit back when I had Rey on her indie, and I can confidently say that Bastian is the one Kylo blog I will continue to follow for years to come. When it comes to writing Kylo, she never leaves any details out. She’s thought of an explanation for just about everything, which isn’t an easy task when writing someone like Kylo Ren, a man who had fallen from grace. His character is complex, and every detail within her carrd will have you hooked and waiting for more.
@pistollips - OC blogs are just as important as canon, and arguably more interesting with all of the time it takes to create them from scratch! For a long time, I admire V’s blog from a distance, so shy to interact. Never before had I seen so many people be enamored by a female OC, and it makes sense why. Something about Atty as a muse screams Campy, or melodramatic, the most extreme version that one could be, and I adore it! She’s evil, and she knows it. Don’t like it? Whatever. Her graphics are always being updated to something so unique, it’s like the hook of an essay, and then you see the way V is able to spill the words out onto the keyboard, and write Atty’s most authentic self with each and every muse you throw at her, it’s astonishing. She’s always so much fun to write with, and there’s never a dull moment when she’s being posted to the dash. It’s high speed, and you better keep up before you get left in the dust.
@thecrypt - I always thought it was funny trying to talk about Alyssa to other people, because people either thought I was referring to myself, or I personally thought trying to say her name sounded funny, since we happen to share the same name. We both write in a small community here on tumblr, which consists of gothic/metal/horror based OCs. Alyssa & I first became mutuals way back when Jackie had her own blog poppin’ off, and the first muses we wrote together were Jackie Burkhart & Kenny Mccormick! They’re a pair that we still write about to this day, and their little ship dynamic may have you scratching your heads at first, but it is simply the best, I promise you. Alyssa writes a mix of canon muses, and those of her own creation. Her blog has a heavy theme of spookiness to it, so if that’s your thing, she is right up your alley and you’re missing out if you aren’t following her already. As far as her bios and writing goes, I’ve genuinely never seen someone put so much goddamn detail into each muse they write, I can’t imagine being so creative and working as hard as she does on everything she creates; I genuinely envy that about her. Do yourself a favor, and at the very minimum, check her blog out, you won’t be disappointed.
@sammyemerson - Have you guys ever heard that meme about underdeveloped canon characters, and it’s Fiona Goode from AHS talking and it says “I took the liberty of sprucing your boy up” and the guy sitting in the background is Kyle but his face is scribbled over with “underdeveloped canon muse” or some shit? That’s Edie’s blog. Yes, I know Sam Emerson isn’t a lowkey muse with underdeveloped details and that there are like... What? three lost boy movies, but I don’t care. In my eyes, Sam is Edie’s creation practically. She owns the boy, and she cares for him so very much. I’d known about Lost Boys before following her, but I’ve since learned so much from her blog alone. My favorite kind of writing blog is when someone is writing a niche muse you don’t see too often like Sam, and the writer just spends hours pouring new details into them, sharing ideas and headcanons. That’s what Edie does, and she welcomes you to her little world with open arms. She allows you to ask questions, and she genuinely wants to write with all who cross her path, and I love that about her! She’s a free spirit, and a true writer. You’ll fall in love with Sam after following her and reading her posts. She should be coming back to tumblr soon, so give her a follow for when she does! You’ll regret it if you don’t.
