'Tis a great mystery as to why this came up on my feed not long after I rewatched the English dub of Ponyo again because I sought a comfort movie. I mean, what are the odds? Unless... NO, NO, NO, MY FEED HAD BETTER NOT BE RECOMMENDING MORE OLD MEN TO ME! CAN'T YOU SEE I HAVE TOO MANY ALREADY?

I need a seven season '90s sitcom based off them. Like, Ewan could be a in a high school band, Natalie is the cheer leading captain or a popular girl of some sort, and Jake is the daredevil little brother, and Liam is a single dad who is the best person alive

Not entertaining, eh? Then how do you explain why my eyes were glued to the screen the entire time and how I constantly talked about it for months on end? Jokes aside, I will simply say that everyone is entitled to their own opinions here, that's what being part of a fandom is all about. If you prefer the 80s version or even the books to the FX series, that's your opinion and I respect that! I wasn't born in the 80s, nor was I even AWARE of the Shogun universe until the FX series came out, but from what little snippets I have seen, it looks like it's worth checking out as well. I watched the first episode months after it was released after I'd caught up on other shows to see what all the hype was about, I was soooo glad I did and hence why I reacted so happily when the awards piled up and why I now recommend it to anyone I know.

I still haven’t gotten around to watching the original yet (I was planning to do it after I finish the novel), but this kind of makes me not want to. Sorry the guy apparently talked to dumbed-down Americans incapable of following complex political plots and supposedly struggled to keep up with the new one, but as an American myself I had no problem with it and I was thoroughly entertained from start to finish. And frankly Toranaga’s story is far more interesting to me than the Blackthorne/Mariko romance.
