I’ve replayed enough Control to not be surprised, but I’ll never forget how magical it was to first uncover small details like the previous director, Northmoor, being in the power plant, all the security cameras following wherever you go, Ahti responding to Jesse’s thoughts, or the book club papers corresponding to deaths you come across in the game

Here’s some Until Dawn lore I laid out on Reddit and am cross-posting. The wiki doesn’t have all this info, just bits of it. So I wanted to test it.

The Photos of Friends clue is based on your session with Hill when he asked who your most disliked character is. Here’s the pattern:

1. Whichever character you told Hill you disliked most has his or her picture appear on the bottom left with the eyes crossed out.

2. Sam, Mike, Ashley, Josh, and Chris always appear on the wall. If you picked one of them, then Jess’s photo fills the character’s original place.

3. Emily and Matt’s photos only appear if you choose them (the other characters stay in their original places, and Jess does not appear). Because of this, Emily and Matt never appear without crossed-out eyes.

(I promise this is how it works. Sam and Mike get obscured by shadows when the flashlight is lower)
