"Kieran Culkin couldn't disagree with Jeremy Strong in person he only said he doesn't like when people call actors storytellers in a separate interview, they're literally Kendall and Roman 😭😭😭" first of all can we please not project characters' personal issues/dynamics onto their actors, and secondly, idk how to tell you this but if someone is being vulnerable about something personal that they feel really strongly about, particularly in a group setting, but you happen to disagree with a mostly irrelevant part of how they said it that isn't the primary focus of their point, not immediately nitpicking them about how they personally conceptualize something isn't a sign that you're afraid to contradict them or that you have childhood trauma or whatever, it's literally just reading the room and being polite. That's like common sense, I fear.

We all know that Jeremy's reaction to Jean asking him to kill him/talking about suicide was the normal reaction to have, right?? RIGHT??

I see a lot of people theorising about it being related with his brother or with his past but I just think that a normal person with not as much trauma don't even joke about suicide and take it seriously when you do it. And that's the point I believe.

Kevin was traumatized and accustomed to life in the Nest and with the Moriyamas, so he asked Jean for a promise. They were both together and maybe Kevin also thought about doing it too, so he understood the feeling. Later in life he went to PSU where it was also very common to talk/joke/dismiss it because it was a shared experience.

Jeremy sure had his own dose of trauma and we would be glad to unpack it with him but for him it probably isn't as common to talk about death that way. Maybe he did have a close call or a family member commiting, but it's also very likely that he just knows that that is not a joke.

asking w much love for kevi day in my heart but: can kevin be cruel? whether intentionally or not ! hes v multilayered n i must admit some of my fave parts of aftg were when he was being scathing. i liked how he balanced his immense ability to empathize w literally anyone w his more cutting side yk

oh absolutely!!! kevin can be and is cruel especially when it comes to exy!!! he’s ruthless!!!! he sees the beautiful clear line from point A to point B and he does not care about anything else except for how to get there. i dont even think kevin is much good at empathizing at all; i think the good things he does are not so much out of any empathetic feelings but rather a logical conclusion in his head that they are needed to achieve a certain goal

for example, ive never taken kevins promise to give andrew something to build his life around as kevin Empathizing with andrew — i think kevin genuinely believes andrew is worth the effort and finds it a waste of potential if andrew doesnt live up to it. he doesn’t really hurt for andrew’s woes, but he wants andrew to overcome them because it is a step needed for andrew to achieve the life kevin believes andrew deserves

i would say this is a constant theme for him with most characters except for jean (who is always an outlier whenever kevin is involved and shouldn’t be counted anyway). kevin believes in greatness and hard work and commitment and he will be cruel if he thinks you are not working hard enough to achieve it, no matter what the circumstances are. he’s very cutthroat and ruthless :) no sense of compromise at all! my princess

You ever think about how in Two-Player Game Michael’s controller is the one with the decoration while Jeremy’s is the plain one…. bc Michael is player one and Jeremy’s player two… and that’s reflected in their controllers
