I still stand by my HC that Kevin has a visceral seething hate for sports tape and any joint braces. He’d be the kind of athlete who thinks that those things are over used, it’s a crutch people use to aid their inability to do better, by using them a body becomes reliant and weak. He holds this standard against others and holds it against himself twice as much, he’s meticulous with his hand therapy and only using braces minimally when it would actually (in his mind) reduce injury or let his hand heal. But fuck he just HATES the stretchy sports tape, no way does it reduce bruises or stabilise a joint, that’s some medical made up nonsense to him, most it does is remind someone they should be more careful with that part of their body and to look cool

As an ex gymnast myself I’ve always felt the effects of KT tape are over stated. I’ve been the person who strapped their ankles to all hell with ridged tape just to keep them from falling apart, my physio used KT tape but it never did anything [for me specifically and personally]. Tape, braces and guards absolutely have their place, they give space for a body to heal and for some bodies (hypermobile especially) to prevent harm or pain.

This is to say, his opinionated ass isn’t right, he refuses nuance in the context of Exy and this is no exception. Except maybe one… opinionated bitchy Kevin who is definitely not be reconsidering that same opinion when he see’s Jeremy using bright pink sports tape for his knee
