aaa hello hello!!

cake master was so fun to write. it took me around a month, because i was regularly updating my other fics simultaneously. it's the longest oneshot i've ever posted.

it's really a story about stepping out of your shell, finding comfort in new friends and wanting to show your family you love them. the romance happens simultaneously, like a line running parallel.

when i saw the prompt, all i could think about was how, when i was a kid, nobody really cared what flavour your birthday cake was. all they were interested in was the frosting. i personally grew out of that phase super quick, but my friends did Not and they weren't thrilled about the un-frosted cakes at my birthday parties lol. so yeah, i just had that scene in mind of remus baking teddy a cake and teddy saying that it isn't Real cake if it's not frosted. and the whole thing buily itself around that :)

oh and the original title was become a master baker in only 2 months, but that sounded a little too much like masterbator to me, so i changed it. though, if we take remus's behaviour after receiving selfies from sirius into account, it wouldn't have been an inaccurate title lol

omg hi !! ok i'm gonna take this chance to talk about my newest fic, real life. it's... essentially an office romance, but i have never worked in an office before, so i was going around asking my mutuals and people irl what offices are like. hopefully i didn't make it Too unrealistic.

i was also running ridiculously late while writing this fic. i fell rly sick and wasn't able to work on it for a few weeks, which led to me finishing it on the morning of the day it got posted lol. it's all good though, because I'm happy with how it turned out.

my favourite parts were definitely the clay animals and moony the stuffed wolf, james and his mints and hope with her knitting. i put a lot of thought into sirius's tattoos (well... the ones remus is aware enough to notice). regulus in this fic has a special little corner in my heart as well. not sure if this was obvious, but his art piece was an ode to the people he loves! the animals are all his friends + sirius and kreacher. speaking of whom, i wanted kreacher to have a bigger role in this fic, but there's only so much you can do while chasing a deadline. i wanted more james and lily as well and i wanted lyall to have a dialogue or two, but it didn't end up happening. oh well. i'm quite happy with how it turned out.

when i first began this fic, i was writing untethered at the same time, which was messy, because although they're very different fics, they do have some things in common, so i kept getting them confused. i ended up putting untethered (and fic rec. and operation secret admirer. and my wips. and my anonymous fics.) on pause to focus on mmcf and betaing for a couple other fests. i've still got a lot of beta work to do, but I'm dipping into my fics from time to time and i swear i will update all of them by september at Least. i swear

i love beta reading but sometimes it makes me forget all basic grammar. suddenly english is not my first language anymore

if anyone sends me asks about literally anything i heave and cry and throw up from joy like it genuinely makes my whole day

sometimes i scroll too far on the tumblr for you page and the way i can tell is usually because the posts start turning into one of the following:

a) 10 reasons why *my favourite character* is insufferable and why you should doxx and report people who like this character

b) transgender people do not deserve rights and sometimes racism is okay (or something along those lines)

c) *a language i have never seen which translates into something like "i miss her... it's been a long time since i heard her laugh..."*
