If anyone can rally up a base, itâs Taylor Swift.
When sexually explicit, likely AI-generated, fake images of Swift circulated on social media this week, it galvanized her fans. Swifties found phrases and hashtags related to the images and flooded them with videos and photos of Swift performing. âProtect Taylor Swiftâ went viral, trending as Swifties spoke out against not just the Swift deepfakes, but all nonconsensual, explicit images made of women.
Swift, arguably the most famous woman in the world right now, has become the high-profile victim of an all-too-frequent form of harassment. She has yet to comment on the photos publicly, but her status gives her power to wield in a situation where so many women have been left with little recourse. Deepfake porn is becoming more common as generative artificial intelligence gets better: 113,000 deepfake videos were uploaded to the most popular porn websites in the first nine months of 2023, a significant increase to the 73,000 videos uploaded throughout 2022. In 2019, research from a startup found that 96 percent of deepfakes on the internet were pornographic.
The content is easy to find on search engines and social media, and has affected other female celebrities and teenagers. Yet, many people donât understand the full extent of the problem or its impact. Swift, and the media mania around her, has the potential to change that.
âIt does feel like this could be one of those trigger eventsâ that could lead to legal and societal changes around nonconsensual deepfakes, says Sam Gregory, executive director of Witness, a nonprofit organization focused on using images and videos for protecting human rights. But Gregory says people still donât understand how common deepfake porn is, and how harmful and violating it can be to victims.
If anything, this deepfake disaster is reminiscent of the 2014 iCloud leak that led to nude photos of celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton spreading online, prompting calls for greater protections on people's digital identities. Apple ultimately ramped up security features.
A handful of states have laws around nonconsensual deepfakes, and there are moves to ban it on the federal level, too. Rep. Joseph Morelle (D-New York) has introduced a bill in Congress that would make it illegal to create and share deepfake porn without a personâs consent. Another House bill from Rep. Yvette Clarke (D-New York) seeks to give legal recourse to victims of deepfake porn. Rep. Tom Kean, Jr. (R-New Jersey), who in November introduced a bill that would require the labeling of AI content, used the viral Swift moment to draw attention to his efforts: âWhether the victim is Taylor Swift or any young person across our countryâwe need to establish safeguards to combat this alarming trend,â Kean said in a statement.
This isnât the first time that Swift or Swifties have tried to hold platforms and people accountable. In 2017, Swift won a lawsuit she brought against a radio DJ who she claimed groped her during a meet-and-greet. She was awarded $1âthe amount she sued for, and what her attorney Douglas Baldridge called a symbolic sum âthe value of which is immeasurable to all women in this situation.â
Last fall, tens of thousands of people registered to vote after the superstar posted a link to Vote.org on Instagram. And in 2022, her fan base, so enraged after waiting hours to buy tickets to the Eras Tour only to be beaten out by bots, reignited conversation around antitrust issues with Ticketmaster and Live Nationâs mega-merger. A cringy Senate hearing followed, and an investigation into Live Nationâs agreements with venues and artists is ongoing.
Swift and her fans could advocate for legal changes at the federal level to pass. But their outrage could do something else: lead platforms to take notice. âWhen you have a really massive group of users saying this content is unacceptable in this very high-profile way, the power there is about what it says to the platform about what users will and wonât tolerate,â says Cailin OâConnor, a professor of philosophy at University of California, Irvine and coauthor of The Misinformation Age: How False Beliefs Spread. X did not respond to a request for comment on the images and its moderation efforts regarding deepfake porn. Elon Musk bought the site in 2022 and quickly gutted its moderation teams. Advertisers have also dropped off recently after Muskâs apparent endorsement of an antisemitic conspiracy theory.
Itâs not clear whether Swift will take on this issue. A representative for Swift did not respond to a request for comment for this story. Harassment of female celebrities is frequent and often brushed aside, but deepfakes are harming them and others without the same power. This could be a moment for Swift to use her powerful platformâor at least for her fans to push the issue before the public.

Jennifer Lawrence Stuns Fans with Bold Fashion Choice During Autograph Session đâ¨đ
In a mesmerizing display of both elegance and audacity, Jennifer Lawrence recently captivated her fans during an autograph session, offering a glimpse deep into her ample cleavage. The Hollywood star, known for her impeccable style and charismatic persona, arrived in a breathtaking gown that left little to the imagination, sparking a whirlwind of emotions and admiration. đđ
As she stepped onto the stage, the crowd erupted into applause, their eyes widening with awe. Jenniferâs choice of attire was a daring plunge-neck dress, meticulously designed to accentuate her natural beauty and confidence. The fabric, a rich blend of satin and silk, clung to her curves, shimmering under the lights and highlighting every graceful movement she made. đŤâ¨
The moment that left everyone breathless came when Jennifer leaned forward to sign autographs for her adoring fans. The deep neckline of her dress offered an intimate view, revealing her ample cleavage and sending waves of excitement through the crowd. There was an electric atmosphere in the room, a shared sense of privilege to witness such a personal and vulnerable moment from a beloved star. đđ
Jennifer, ever the professional and poised, seemed entirely at ease with her daring fashion choice. Her smile was radiant, her laughter infectious as she interacted with fans, each one more entranced than the last. It was a powerful reminder of why she remains one of Hollywoodâs most adored actresses â her ability to connect with people, to be unapologetically herself, and to exude a confidence that inspires others. đđ
For many, this autograph session was more than just a chance to meet a celebrity; it was an unforgettable experience, a glimpse into the life of a woman who embodies both glamour and authenticity. Jennifer Lawrenceâs choice to reveal a bit more of herself, both physically and emotionally, resonated deeply with those present, leaving a lasting impression. đđ
As the event came to a close, the buzz of excitement lingered in the air. Fans walked away not just with autographs, but with a story â a memory of a day when Jennifer Lawrence allowed them a peek into her world, her confidence, and her undeniable allure. It was a reminder of the power of boldness and the beauty of embracing oneâs true self, a lesson from a star who shines brightly both on and off the screen. â¨đđ

Catching Fire and The Truman Show: Katniss, played by Jennifer Lawrence, and Truman are both living in "fishbowls" and they both fight to escape them.
During the lead up to MIDNIGHTS, Taylor posted a TikTok where she says âSheâs a clock, itâs a clock, itâs a clock, it makes a clock, it could help you tell time.â People immediately noticed similarities to Catching Fire, when Katniss realizes that the arena is a clock.
If youâve seen Catching Fire, you know that the 12 oâclock slice of the arena is a lightning bolt. And that lightning bolt is precisely how Katniss escapes the arena - when the clock strikes MIDNIGHT, she launches an arrow into the lightning, shattering the arena and allowing her to escape.
Meanwhile this is what Taylor has been doing every night while singing The Archer.
Catching Fire Theory by @LissaJoStewart
Truman is begged not to leave his life in the "fishbowl" behind - he's brought people joy and hope, and he has millions of fans counting on him. But he says his catchphrase one last time, stretches out his arms, and takes a final bow.
Taylor stands in front of the door and stretches out her arms to take a final bow before disappearing into the stage.
We will meet Taylor at MIDNIGHT when lightning will strike, the arena will shatter, and sheâll walk out the closet door.

A messy collection of my thoughts and theories for episodes one and two of 'a murder at the end of the world' :
⢠starting off with The Doors, already a yes from me
⢠this is my, hmm, sixth rewatch of both episodes? maybe more? Anyway, darby is warm colors, bill is cool. love this detail.
⢠The Silver Doe, silver earrings. I'm convinced Darby's earring means something. I've seen others speculate that it's reference to a hourglass. it's also similar to the logo of Andy's company.
⢠We meet Bill in the motel room and that is when I immediately knew I was a goner for this story. sue me, Harris Dickinson is handsome. I also love his terrible haircut
⢠Harris and Emma's chemistry is INSANE
⢠"Lee. She doesn't need my help." Oh, but maybe she does Darby. I don't trust Lee's husband in any way, shape or form
⢠When Darby stumbles down the (poorly made) stairs and bill asks her if she's alright? listen, i love them a whole lot. even if it's common decency to ask
⢠creepy fucking basement.
⢠bill protecting darby. BILL PROTECTING DARBY!!!
⢠was bill shot? did the person shoot themselves?
⢠I feel like importance of tattoos and meaning might come into play (darby looking at crime scene photos but also bill's and darby's)
⢠also during the scene where darby is being messaged by Andy's assistant, someone on reddit theorized that the letters on darbys open tabs are a code. Maybe?
⢠The health check before boarding the plane is raising red flags for me. Mainly the cheek swab. I dunno
⢠Alice Braga! You gorgeous human
⢠Martin reading Darby's book right in front of her is a little bit strange for a multitude of reasons but I'm definitely reading too much into most of my thoughts about it
⢠Darby's attention to detail is so good and such a wonderful element, considering the storyline
⢠Grimes.
⢠The closeup on Martin's nightmare on the plane. Obviously a deliberate camera choice. But whyyyy
⢠Flashback to Bill in the bath. I assume it's after they were confronted with the gun. Bloody rags and dirty water, Bill seems physically okay. previous point, was he shot?
⢠"I think this is both too much and not enough."
⢠Camera/Darby lingers on fisherman.
⢠Ray makes me nervous
⢠Oxygen tank to Lee's room. Strange. Food to Lee's room that Zoomer accepts, strange. Lee cleaning up the broken glass and making eye contact with Darby. very strange.
⢠The deep fake talk with Oliver about how you can make anyone say anything will definitely come back later. isn't audio recorded in every room or did I misunderstood that in ep 2?
⢠Lee and Andy are not selling me on a happy marriage. Back to maybe Lee does need Darby's help.
⢠Bill appearing at dinner. Was he late or early? the way bill and darby look at one another make me melt
⢠Also, as Bill sits down, Sian says 'definitely not him' meaning Andy didn't invite him, Lee did. And we later learn that Lee and Bill knew eachother. (how tf did darby not know that if she is such a fan of Lee. WHAT DOES IT ALL MEANNN)
⢠The lighting plays a huge roll. The halos above Darby and Bill at dinner
⢠I too would choke after seeing bill again for the first time in six years
⢠Lee's toast, 'to finding a way out.' And then Andy saying, 'together.' ???
⢠Zoomer. Robot child? Bill's kid? strange little dude nonetheless. (Zoomer doesn't/can't eat. Lee and Andy looking at one another while Zoomer and Bill play. darbys smile as she watches them. then the face bill makes after zoomer is called to sit down. and the way he responds to question of how old he is???)
⢠The pool scene. These people are so cliquey. yuck
⢠Darby punching bill and then immediately asking him for a drink. I get it. Also the way he looked at her after she punched him. Lovesick.
⢠Bill telling her how he loved her book, oh my God. "Really tough and fragile at the same time" fucking incredible line.
⢠Bill and Darby flirting
⢠"I need to tell you something." Insert Jennifer Lawrence clip, WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!
⢠Darby runs into Marius, the hotel manager when she goes to Bill's room. Suspect but maybe too obvious?
⢠Bill asking her to stay as he dies. Holding hands through the glass. Him smiling at her. It's all too much for me.
⢠So much blood for someone overdosing? Head wound.
Episode 2:
⢠Darby's book in Bill's room covered in blood. Is that Bill's copy or Martin's from the plane?
⢠Everyone is very insistent on getting Darby out of Bill's room.
⢠The tea going to Bill's room. More broken glass
⢠Lee comforting Darby is very nice
⢠Rohan (fisherman) is the only one visibly upset and reacting like a human being told about a death
⢠Andy and Sian are acting like Darby is overreacting about his cause of death
⢠Andy saying that bill wouldn't want them to go home and quit. Dude, you didn't know him. Kick rocks.
â˘Â Again, Andy and Lee are giving me bad vibes. Lee fawns around him, he speaks over her/for her
⢠Lu Mei seems uncomfortable when she says she'll stay, seemingly intimated by Andy or fearful of his reaction if she did say she wanted to leave. Therefore I don't think anyone is comfortable going against him. Power imbalance. Darby seems to pick up on this
⢠Darby going to see Bill. Her frantically asking Ray questions with obvious answers but she craves the validation that she isn't wrong about what she suspects....I'm so sad
⢠Bill's tattoos are so interesting and I crave meaning
⢠"Someone killed you."
⢠My knowledge of injectable drugs all comes from 90s rock musicians, so take that as you will. The needle in Bill's room is the strangest thing I've ever seen. It looks like a diabetic tester needle. And no fingerprints.
⢠Lee also going to Bill's room. The plot thickens (I need to re-create her outfit in this episode it's so good)
⢠Is Lee telling the truth about what she was actually looking for? Also her giving Darby advice. I very much like them teaming up together
⢠"Don't get caught."
⢠Is it possible that Andy/the hotel is fielding the internet? like when darby can't look up a hack for the doorbell cam. is this an ignorant question? Perhaps.
⢠Darby and Bill flashback! when bill offers to come pick darby up and she immediately freaks out and runs away from the conversation...I have never felt more seen or understood. me too, girl, me too.
⢠Do Lee and Bill having matching line tattoos on their forearms???
⢠Happy birthday Darby đĽşđĽşđĽş
⢠04/14/2017 Zoomer's birthday.
⢠Darby has doorbell cam footage. employees have towels. noted. David on a phonecall. Bill 𼲠(not wearing his ring) Ziba hears something, looks frightened and leaves. Bill's door opens from in the inside, hallway wall is illuminated.
⢠Bill's smile when he meets Darby in person for the first time. I LOVE THEM!
⢠Creepy mask person, go away!
⢠the diner darby and bill meet at is called Ray's
⢠I believe in love at first sight because of them.
⢠Frank Ocean. That's all.

Xavier Thorpe-centric headcanons (featuring Wenvier)
Because I ship them and I stand with Percy Hynes White. I will probably post more of these later. Team Xavier to the end of times.
âXavierâs middle name is David.
âHe was born on August 28th. Itâs the only summer day Wednesday tolerates.
He lives in New York.
âHe has a difficult relationship with his father, that we know of. He always hopes it gets better and for his dad to reach out and not prioritize his work for once. He always ends up disappointed. Wednesday hates Vincent Thorpeâs guts.
His mother passed away when he was eleven. He rarely talks about it but he loved his mother deeply and she was amazing. She was an artist like him.
âXavier has a green eyed black cat named Shado. It was his mom's and he kept it despite his father's attempts to get rid of it. He is quite the old jaded cat and usually hisses at everyone who isn't Xavier. That's until he meets Wednesday: he's basically all over her purring when she's at Xavier's. She'd like to chase him away when he's too clingy sometimes and she's trying to read but she can't resist those green eyes. And we all know how much Wednesday must love green eyes.
âObviously, Xavier loves Arctic Monkeys and Chase Atlantic. His favourite song is Do Me a Favour by Arctic Monkeys.
âHe's very good with kids. Which Wednesday once thought could be handy in the future. The minute she realized what she was thinking, she wanted to hit her head against the wall for becoming like her mother.
(TW: eating disorder/body image) âXavier struggles with eating sometimes because he used to be overweight. He didnât start running out of pleasure: his father forced him to lose the weight because "having a fat son wouldn't be good for his image". Again, Wednesday's still waiting for Xavier's permission to curse his father.
âXavier is a huge fan of The Hunger Games series, he read the books and watched the movies at least ten times. It's partly why he chose to practice archery. Definitely has a celebrity crush on Jennifer Lawrence. He made Wednesday watch all the movies with him and she actually didn't hate them.
His second obsession is Star Wars. His ringtone is Cantina Band. Wednesday hates Star Wars.
âXavier is this annoying person who has multiple hidden talents. Obviously, he's a very good painter, but he's also a great piano player (his mom taught him), he's an okay dancer, and he's not that bad at singing even though he mainly does in the shower. But since he's modest or thinks it's not that great, people usually randomly find out about it. Ajax always acts falsely jealous like "Dude you can do literally everything, I hate you", but he's also the first one to exclaim "oh you need someone who can do that? Xavier's like so good, you should ask him!"
Wednesday was impressed (although she was careful not to show it at first) when she found out he could play the piano and they've definitely both played piano and cello together.
Speaking of Ajax, him and Xavier are basically brothers and we all know it. They met when they arrived at Nevermore the same year when they were twelve and they've been inseparable ever since.
I have a very clear vision of Xavier barging in Ajax's room after he and Wednesday get together like "it's official, bitch!" and they're both gloating like two tall idiots, so proud that they're dating the two hot best friends from Ophelia Hall

DS9 trivia from IMDB - Part 4
- Military ranks used in Star Trek are all based upon actual military ranks. Starfleet ranks are those of the US Navy: Ensign, Lieutenant Junior Grade, Lieutenant, Lieutenant Commander, Commander, Captain, Commodore, Rear Admiral, Vice Admiral, and Admiral. Bajoran ranks are the same as those used in the U.S. Army, Air Force, and Marines: Lieutenant, Major, Lieutenant Colonel (or, as the Bajorans call it, "Field Colonel"), Colonel, and General. (Kira, after her promotion, was referred to simply as "Colonel", but she was promoted two steps in rank at once.) Klingon ranks are "bekk" (an enlisted rating), Ensign, Lieutenant, Commander, Captain, Colonel, Brigadier, General, and Admiral. Cardassian ranks are based on those of the ancient Roman Empire: Gil (equivalent to a Starfleet/U.S. Naval Lieutenant), Glinn (Commander), Gul (Captain), and Legate (Admiral).
- The Maquis was the name of the French resistance fighters during World War II.
- Lit Star Trek model kit parts can be seen as medical instruments throughout the series. In one episode, Dr. Bashir uses a part that makes up a Romulan Warbird engine nacelle to scan or heal.
- As he had on Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987), Q was intended to make semi-regular appearances on this show, but appeared only in season one, episode seven, "Q-Less". Q instead would come to continue his appearances on Star Trek: Voyager (1995). In addition, producers announced Whoopi Goldberg would reprise her role as Guinan in a guest appearance or two, and intended to have Leonard Nimoy appear as Spock, but the plans never materialized. Some other recurring characters from The Next Generation would wind up making appearances on this show, however, including Vash (Jennifer Hetrick), Lwaxana Troi (Majel Barrett), Gowron (Robert O'Reilly), Worf's brother Kurn (Tony Todd) and the Duras Sisters (Barbara March and Gwynyth Walsh).
- The design of Ops incorporates ideas that were considered, but dropped for The Bridge on Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987), such as the upper level office, the briefing table in the center of the room, and the transporter being built into the set.
- Quark and Odo were intended to be the 'Bones and Spock' of Deep Space Nine, the two crew members who were always at odds with each other. However, because Armin Shimerman and Rene Auberjonois spent so many hours together in make-up, they became such good friends that Shimerman felt that their fondness for each other seeped through in the later seasons, despite their best efforts.
- The uniforms initially worn on this show were designed to look different from those worn on its parent show, Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987), with a colored shoulder and a gray undershirt. Beginning with the movie Star Trek: Generations (1994), however, these new uniforms were adopted by Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987) crew, and Starfleet as a whole. This change was made when a new style of uniform designed for Star Trek: Generations (1994) was rejected. From the mid fifth season of this show and Star Trek: First Contact (1996) another type of uniform was issued by Starfleet (now with gray shoulders and colored undershirt), while Star Trek: Voyager (1995) (having no way of knowing about the change) retained the earlier version, distinguishing the two series from each other again. It is also worth mentioning that the DS9-style uniforms are very similar to the ones worn by Starfleet cadets in The Next Generation, most notably in season five, episode nineteen, "The First Duty".
- The square glasses used in Quark's bar are actually candle holders turned upside down.
- The character that eventually became Vic Fontaine was written for Frank Sinatra Jr. in season four. Sinatra, despite being a fan of the show, turned it down, declaring that he only wanted to play an alien. After meeting with Robert Goulet, and attempting to get Steve Lawrence, Tom Jones, and Jerry Vale, the producers eventually considered James Darren for season six, and invited him to audition. However, Darren wasn't interested in a singing role, so he didn't read the script sent to him. On the day of auditions, producer Ira Steven Behr was discussing Darren with a few crew members, sharing his doubts whether Darren would actually show up. One of those crew members happened to be Christian Darren, James' son, who told Behr that his father was actually coming over that afternoon: James' wife had convinced him to at least go to the audition. Darren eventually accepted the role, and appeared in eight episodes.
- Buck Bokai's baseball card, a collectable featured on Benjamin Sisko's desk, had Keone Young on the front, in character, but showed "Trek" model maker  Gregory Jein, who invented the "history" of the character, on the back. The pair bore an uncanny resemblance to each other.

Hi there! I was wondering about the IDW comics-is there a way to read them online? I've been trying to find a way to read them but it seems like you have to buy them one by one. Thanks!
Tbh, Iâve been reading them online here, but Iâll be buying them soon. Iâm just not sure which format I want yet. IDW has digital copies on their website - issue #1 is $1.99, and volume 1 (the first 12 issues) is $19.99. Places like Amazon, ebay, and Barnes & Noble have them, too. The art is incredible, and I would much prefer to buy physical copies so I could see it on an actual page, but the prices are pretty steep, especially for those fancy hardcover volumes, and theyâre frequently out of stock, so Iâve been hemming and hawing about it.
They did release a FREE issue about Tangle and Whisper, so if youâve ever been curious about those two, check it out here! I really like them.
Iâd highly recommend IDW not just to Sonic fans, but to literally anyone with eyes. Itâs great for a million reasons, but Iâll focus on the art here. The covers are beautiful and action-packed, right from cover A for issue 1...
(Artists: Tracy Yardley & Tyson Hesse)
...to the latest, beautiful renaissance-inspired cover B for issue 59:
(Artist: Natalie Haines)
She made an actual painting for this, and sheâs damn proud of it. As she should be. Just look at it!
More pretty IDW art and accompanying ranting under the cut.
I adore the introductions they give to the characters. Hereâs Amy being a cute badass in issue 2. Sheâs earned it!!!
(Artist: Adam Bryce Thomas)
Side note: I like how they introduce characters in the order they were created, so Tails was issue 1, and issue 2 featured Amy. Knuckles didnât show up until issue 3! This series gives Amy her proper place right from the get-go. Itâs a nice touch.
Blaze is always cool in IDW--well, figuratively speaking. Look at her awesome introduction in issue 4!
(Artist - Evan Stanley, colorist - Matt Herms)
IDWâs artists do a great job portraying dynamic motion and physical impacts. Thereâs another really cool use of her powers later on, but I donât want to spoil it! đ
Itâs not just the characters. The backgrounds and scenery are great, too. This is Angel Island from issue 9. Love the foreshortening in the back:
(Artist - Tracy Yardley, colorist - Matt Herms)
And the art being as good as it is fuels how strong the characters are. When was the last time the games properly showcased Amy and Creamâs friendship? IDW does it right, and issue 22âs art reinforces that:
(Artist: Priscilla Tramontano)
The context makes it significantly more heartwarming, too, but itâs another spoiler.
Apart from Amy, the one character who I think benefits most from this is Silver. This is his cutest, dorkiest, most endearing iteration yet, and I am here for it! Top two images are from issue 8, and the gardening segments below them are from IDWâs 2019 annual. It has some cute Silver/Blaze moments, and it doesnât have any real spoilers for the main series. You can read it independently. Itâs $3.99 on IDWâs website.
(Issue 8 artist - Evan Stanley, colorist - Matt Herms) (Annual 2019 artists - Jonathan Gray, Jack Lawrence, Jennifer Hernandez, and Diana Skelly)
I canât help but smile whenever I see him. Heâs cute in other iterations, too, but I always picture IDW when I write Silver.
Oh, and one last thing: after Amy and Silverâs cute meeting in Sonic 06, I headcanoned that she has a tendency to mother him. It fits well into the Shadamy-Descendent-Silver theory (yâknow, that concept that was âsarcasticallyâ suggested by Ian Flynn, Mr. IDW himself?), and I incorporated it into Shellshock. It was only after Iâd gotten into the habit of writing them that way that I read further in IDW and ran into instances like these (spoilers removed):
(Issue 14 artist - Tracy Yardley, colorist - Leonardo Ito) (Issue 25 artist - Adam Bryce Thomas, colorist - Matt Herms)
And she is always the one to do this. No one else mothers him like this. Headcanon confirmed! Three points for the descendant theory!
#not a headcanon#ask#fandom1515#you asked one simple question and i did all of#this#i'm so sorry lol#my hand slipped

Compared Scandoval to George Floyd!
Itâs not easy being Tom Sandoval. It canât be easy to receive such backlash as he has.
But is he perhaps feeling a little too sorry for himself?
He did an interview with The New York Times Magazine that made everything worse for him.
The article said: âHe turned last yearâs season of âVanderpump Rulesâ into the best in reality TVâs history â and ruined his life in the process.â
While Rachel Leviss ended up in a mental health facility and Ariana Madix was gifted with countless endorsements, he was harassed by the fans.
Stars like Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer had publicly ridiculed him, and Alyssa Farah Griffin had called him âthe Donald Trump of ex-boyfriends.â
The journalist from The New York Times Magazine Irina Aleksander certainly had an interesting day with Sandoval.
He told her: âI feel like I got more hate than Danny Masterson, and heâs a convicted rapist.â
She wrote that she feared that one from his publicity team would interject at that point, but the woman hadnât even flinched by the comment.
Irina asked why he thought the cheating scandal blew up like it did, and he answered:
âIâm not a pop-culture historian really, but I witnessed the O.J. Simpson thing and George Floyd and all these big things, which is really weird to compare this to that, I think, but do you think in a weird way itâs a little bit the same?â
The woman from his publicity team was typing âfuriouslyâ on her phone at this point. And Irina never got another meeting with him after that.
His publicist and Bravo had heard about the comment and appeared to do damage control.
Did they hide behind concern for his mental health, though?
We can talk about media phenomenon all day, but why would those be the ones he compared Scandoval to?
Irina thought that the experience of this scandal had made him lose perspective on reality.
He had also told her that he loved to pretend. And sadly, thatâs what Iâm getting most of the time I see him justifying himself on the show.

NOTE: itâs completely fine if you are attracted to more than one pile - the universe probably wants you to see some other messages. this is also general reading, not everything may resonate! enjoy!
PILE 1
you'd peacefully live your lavish life. travelling all around the world, having mansions in each favourited countries, non-stop buying branded luxury goods. you're young, rich, famous, and you use it!
people are neutral about you - some hate you, some love you. genuinely, you don't attract any special attention - that makes your life much easier.
however, you'd have lots of various dating rumours; paparazzies can't stop taking pics of you leaving some house, club or car. it'd get tiring, especially, when they don't even stop after you get married. this could cause misunderstandings between you and your spouse. i don't think your marriages would last.
parties would be your thing. especially the ones abroad. to you there's just something charming in meeting foreigners in a foreign land.
your fans would love you for your sense of freedom. you just don't care, having fun is what matters. this could become your trademark - not giving a single fuck. "my panties are flashing somebody? you're lucky to see it. i'm late to an event? well, without me the show isn't starting anyways. my hair is messy, and my makeup is all over my face? i still look stunning." - for you there is just no problem. this is your specialty, your greatest charm! and the reason why people both hate you and love you - for some you just may look a bit too reckless.
but what makes a memorable celebrity? a sprinkle of controversial personality.
celebrities with alike fame: naomi campbell, kendall jenner, lindsay lohan, lil nas x, jennifer lawrence, adriana lima.
PILE 2
ohhh, you'd be considered a bit "unhinged". you just appear different to most people - the air around you is peculiar. you probably wouldn't give any fucks about any opinions - nothing influences you - which is new to the majority. and it bothers many - they just can't stop you! they can't see you crying, they can't see you failing, their words mean nothing - you're absolutely unbothered. and that's very new in the celebrity world.
consequently, there'd be a few rumours about you doing drugs or maybe even being a part of a cult - it's funny how people can't believe that their opinions just simply don't matter to you.
but most people LOVE you. you're their idol. people want to take a picture with you, they want your autograph, they want to meet you, to see you... and they want to copy you. you could become a fashion icon, some could even try to imitate your mannerisms in daily life. but again you don't really care, you're just enjoying life.
you could have some beef with paparazzies. i see it being funny and mostly light-hearted - maybe you having silly little fights with them, maybe a few cameras being slammed to the ground. they're going to annoy you, trust me. they'd gather around your car, causing difficulties to drive. it's amusing till it happens almost every single day. therefore, some bickering could happen. but people will like it, they'd consider it funny - after all, they really enjoy your personality and everything you do and say.
your fame would be sudden and strong from the start. you'd never go out of trend - always relevant.
celebrities with alike fame: paris hilton, kim kardashian, kanye west, nicki minaj, lady gaga.
PILE 3
you'd be THE obsession. oh, and it will get exhausting.
people care to know every single aspect of your life. they'll dig out your address, your favourite meals, your allergies, the list of your friends or neighbours, the colour of your panties - anything they can.
people are obsessed with you, even your haters. they all can't deny how special your aura is - it's something that hasn't been seen in ages, it's intoxicating. you'd be assured to become a legend, your part in history is already written from the start.
i see people becoming obsessed to the point of ignoring your emotions. they could treat you as if you were "unhuman" - completely forgetting that you're a person with feelings and treating you like an alien/entertainment object. on the other hand, you'd have armies of fans that are loyal to you like you're a god.
this affect could cause intense stalking, constant articles about you, various rumours, lack of privacy, etc. even other celebrities would become obsessed with you. once you walk in - all eyes are on you, you're the centre of the world.
people would sleep outside for weeks just to meet you - it's crazy. you're constantly talked about, swooned over. if you're not strong enough - this would be a highly damaging fame, maybe even your death sentence.
celebrities with alike fame: marilyn monroe, britney spears, elvis presley, justin bieber, michael jackson.

Photograph by Ruven Afanador for TIMEÂ |Â INTERVIEW BY SAM LANSKY
TimothĂŠe Chalamet and I are on the run, chasing down Sixth Avenue on a bright September day in search of a place to talk. The restaurant in Greenwich Village where we had planned to meet ended up getting swarmed by NYU students while I was waiting for him, chattering excitedly to one anotherââTimothĂŠe Chalamet is here!â âShut up!â âYeah, heâs right outside!ââso, trying to avoid a deluge of selfie seekers, I bolt from the table, tapping Chalamet on the shoulder where he stands under the awning, on the phone, and we make our escape. Face covered with a mask and hoodie pulled up over his curly hair, heâs mostly incognito but still cuts a distinct enough figure that weâd better find a new location fast, and standing at a crosswalk with him, I feel briefly protective, like I should be prepared to body-block an onslaught of fans at any moment.
Luckily, we go undetected as we make our way to another diner a few blocks downâa true New York greasy spoon, less crowded and doggedly uncoolâand slide into a back booth. He orders black coffee and matzo-ball soup, which he says he has been craving. Itâs not an easy thing to come by in London, where heâs been in rehearsals for Wonka, an original movie musical that will serve as a prequel of sorts to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, following the titular chocolatier as a young man. He just spent a weekend recording music for the film at Abbey Road. âI felt out of my league,â he says of working in that legendary space. âLike I was desecrating history!â But working on this project has been good for him. âItâs not mining the darker emotions in life,â he says. âItâs a celebration of being off-center and of being O.K. with the weirder parts of you that donât quite fit in.â
If Chalametâwhom most people call, affectionately, Timmyâsees himself as off-center, so far itâs working. Heâs back in New York for the Met Gala, which heâs co-chairing alongside Billie Eilish, Naomi Osaka and Amanda Gorman. (He walked the red carpet in a Haider Ackermann satin tuxedo jacket and sweatpants.) On Oct. 22, heâll appear in two films released on the same day. Thereâs Wes Andersonâs ensemble The French Dispatch, which earned raves out of Cannes, in which Chalamet appears opposite Frances McDormand as a revolutionary spearheading a student liberation movement. He also stars as royal Paul Atreides in Denis Villeneuveâs towering sci-fi epic Dune, an adaptation of Frank Herbertâs beloved 1965 novel, budgeted at a reported $165 million and slated for a massive worldwide release.
This makes it a big moment for Chalamet, who is not just an actor who works often, although he does, and not just a celebrity, although he is one, but a movie star in the old-fashioned sense of the word. (More on this later.) Heâs now the rare performer who, at 25, studios are betting can help launch a blockbuster franchise and a festival hit on the same day, with a pandemic still rumbling out of view. With great power, of course, comes great responsibilityâincluding a spotlight on everything from his personal life (heâs been linked to actor Lily-Rose Depp) to his activism (heâs outspoken on climate change) to what he wears, whether on a red carpet or dashing to the bodega. The latter runs the gamut from embroidered joggers to tie-dye overalls to space-age suitingâor, say, a Louis Vuitton hoodie spangled with 3,000 Swarovski crystals. (All this has led GQ to crown him one of the best-dressed men in the world.)
âI feel like Iâm here to show that to wear your heart on your sleeve is O.K."
Chalamet belongs to a generation thatâs known for oversharing, particularly on social media, but his Instagram is frequently enigmatic; he holds more back than many of his contemporaries. He cites as role models Michael B. Jordan, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrenceâthe latter two of whom heâll appear opposite in Adam McKayâs star-studded Donât Look Up on Netflix in Decemberâactors who are more likely to talk about craft than to post selfies doing sponsored content. If fame is surreal to him, he also doesnât make a show of resisting it. âIâm figuring it out,â Chalamet says. âOn my worst days, I feel a tension in figuring it out. But on my best days, I feel like Iâm growing right on time.â
As we sit and talk, a procession of fans stop by the table to ask for photosâmostly young women, but thereâs one sheepish-looking guy, too, who looks to be in his 40s. Chalamet indulges them all gamely, making conversation. âOh, you go to Columbia?â he says to one girl. âThatâs cool! I did too.â He stops himself. âWell, I dropped out.â
If the challenge is staying level amid all this attention, he has a game plan. âOne of my heroesâI canât say who or heâd kick my assâhe put his arm around me the first night we met and gave me some advice,â he says. What was it, I ask?
âNo hard drugs,â Chalamet says, âand no superhero movies.â
Chalamet grew up in midtown Manhattan, where his mom was a Broadway performer and his father worked as an editor for UNICEF. He went to the arts high school La Guardia, where he performed onstage. Not long after graduating, he booked a role as Matthew McConaugheyâs son in Christopher Nolanâs 2014 space drama Interstellar, which he, along with everyone he knew, expected would catalyze his career. âI remember seeing it and weeping,â he says, â60% because I was so moved by it, and 40% because Iâd thought I was in the movie so much more than I am.â
He briefly attended Columbia, then NYU, but didnât finish college, which he says seems âinsane in retrospect.â He remembers the insecurity of those years, which he describes as âthe soul-crushing anxiety of feeling like I had a lot to give without any platform.â But he waited for the kinds of jobs he wanted, trying to avoid getting locked into a commitment that might stifle his growth, like a years-long TV contract. âNot that those opportunities were coming at me plenty,â he says, âbecause they werenât. But I had a marathon mentality, which is hard when everything is instant gratification.â
That paid off in 2017 with the release of Luca Guadagninoâs gay love story Call Me by Your Name, which earned him an Oscar nomination and catapulted him to fame. (He demurs when asked about co-star Armie Hammer, who has denied a widely publicized accusation of rape. âI totally get why youâre asking that,â he says, âbut itâs a question worthy of a larger conversation, and I donât want to give you a partial response.â) That same year, he featured in Greta Gerwigâs Oscar-nominated Lady Bird. He followed up with the addiction drama Beautiful Boy, then Gerwigâs adaptation of Little Women, both of which earned him still more critical praise.
If his filmography has made him an art-house darling, Dune feels like the perfect big movie for an actor like Chalamet: despite the booming score and dazzling visual effects, thereâs a gravity to itâand an unusual prescience. âDune was written 60 years ago, but its themes hold up today,â Chalamet says. âA warning against the exploitation of the environment, a warning against colonialism, a warning against technology.â
Dune is also the kind of cinematic event that demands to be seen in theaters, which spelled controversy when Warner Bros. announced that, due to the pandemic, all of their 2021 films would premiere on the streaming service HBO Max concurrent with their theatrical release dates. Chalamet shrugs about it. âItâs so above my pay grade,â he says. âMaybe Iâm naive, but I trust the powers that be. Iâm just grateful itâs coming out at all.â
A day later, we meet at a bar in Tribeca. As he arrives, heâs wrapping up a call. âLove you too, Grandma,â he says gently into the phone as heâs hanging up.
Male movie stars have long been defined by an old model of masculinity. Chalamet, who rose to fame playing a queer character and whose style is frequently described as androgynous, evinces a kind of masculinity thatâs a little different: more sensitive, more emotional, in keeping with his generationâs permissive attitudes about self-expression. âTimothĂŠe is a thoughtful, poetic spirit,â says Villeneuve. âI am always impressed by his beautiful vulnerability.â Chalamet doesnât always reveal much, but what he does is intentional. Ask him what he stands for, and he considers it seriously. âI feel like Iâm here to show that to wear your heart on your sleeve is O.K.,â he says.
Yet Chalamet knows better than to obsess about how heâs perceived by the public. âTo keep the ball rolling creatively takes a certain ignorance to the way youâre consumed,â he says. He calls it a âmirror vacuumâ: the black hole you disappear into studying your own reflection. He wants to use his platform thoughtfully, to spread the right kinds of messages through the worldâwhether thatâs about mental-health awareness, a subject which he wants to see become âless of an Instagram slide share and something more intrinsic,â or climate. âI donât think itâs a coincidence that the same generation that inherits the overheated planet is the generation saying, âHey, thereâs a level of complacency here,ââ he says.
All that said, Chalamet doesnât take himself too seriously. The idea that heâs seen as a movie starâlet alone his generationâs most promisingâseems to make him squirrelly. âI donât want to say some vapid, self-effacing thing,â he says. âItâs a combination of luck and getting good advice early in my career not to pigeonhole myself.â The term movie star, to him, is âlike death.â All it does is make him think about â90s-nostalgia Instagram feeds.
âYouâre just an actor,â Chalamet says, like a mantra. âYouâre just an actor!â Then he looks to me, as if checking to see if heâs convinced me itâs true.

Comic Review: And Then There Was Shawn
A precursor to my horror fandom was my predilection for Halloween episodes of my favorite shows growing up. Long before I saw the horror icons in action, I found great joy in spooky-themed specials from the likes of Roseanne, Home Improvement, Family Matters, and The Simpsons. But my favorite was always Boy Meets World's "And Then There Was Shawn." Incidentally, it was not released as a Halloween episode - it debuted in February 1998 as part of the series' fifth season - but its riff on the post-Scream slasher boom made it a perfect gateway into the genre for '90s kids.
I'm not alone in my admiration for the episode; it's a favorite among many fans of the show, but perhaps none more than Jennifer Ball. The Utah-based artist has painstakingly adapted "And Then There Was Shawn" into a 28-page comic book. Bud, the creepy janitor featured in the episode (the final role of Joe Turkel, who genre fans will recognize as the bartender from The Shining), serves as the Cryptkeeper-style host for the nightmarish tale of terror that befalls a group of youths at John Adams High.
After an outburst in Mr. Feeny's (William Daniels) class, recently separated high school sweethearts Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel), their loyal friends Shawn (Rider Strong) and Angela (Trina McGee), and classmate Kenny (Richard Lee Jackson) - in his only appearance, seemingly included for the sole purpose of a South Park reference - find themselves in detention. They're soon joined by Cory's elder brother Eric (Will Friedle) and Shawn's half-brother Jack (Matthew Lawrence). Locked inside the school, the horror quickly escalates as characters are picked off one-by-one by a masked killer.
The episode's namesake is a play on Agatha Christie's 1939 murder-mystery novel And Then There Were None, the impact of which can certainly be felt on virtually every slasher movie, but the main influence is Scream and the glut of self-aware teen-horror movies that followed. Shawn assumes the role of the horror movie expert a la Randy from Scream, pointing out tropes and references (albeit to nonexistent movies in this case). Jennifer Love Hewitt, fresh off the success of I Know What You Did Last Summer (and dating Friedle at the time), shows up as a red herring named Jennifer Love Fefferman.
"And Then There Was Shawn" can stand on its own even if you're unfamiliar with the show, but diehards will find even more to enjoy in the comic. Ball's attention to detail is remarkable, faithfully recreating every beat, capturing the character likenesses, and including minutiae no matter how small. She goes so far as to create faux ads: a poster for Blood in the Showers, one of several cheeky movie titles referenced in the episode, and a back-page ad for Chubbie's, a restaurant prominently featured in the show.
The episode - directed by Jeff McCracken and written by Jeff Menell (both series regulars) - is memorable because it cleverly diverged so far from the sitcom formula viewers were accustomed to. It felt dangerous, as beloved characters were mercilessly killed off (seemingly, at least), but the unpredictable reveal of the killerâs identity brought it back to the core of what made Boy Meets World stand out among its peers: its heart. More than just cheap laughs, the series was a coming-of-age tale. While Ball leans into the horror elements for the purpose of the comic, she successfully captures the emotion as well.
And Then There Was Shawn is available now from Jennifer Ball.

ăď¸Secret factsăď¸, or Things the JJK sorcerers would rather die than tell anyone (*ăâ˝ă)
Headcanons, crack edition, of our favourite sorcerers! (partly in homage to @snk-headcanons)
Some extensive contextual references to both the anime and manga ahead ~
----
Itadori Yuuji
Itadori has had a six pack since elementary school. He has also remained at the bottom of his cohort for academic grades since elementary school. Itadori isnât actually good at cooking; meatballs are his only specialty. His wardrobe only contains hoodies. Itadori really ate his boogers as a kid. Itadori is so bad at reading cursed energy he still canât tell the difference between a curse and a sorcerer. Nanami once asked him if he considered therapy. Itadoriâs favourite mode of transport is Fushiguroâs demon dogs. On some days, Itadori thinks Fushiguro looks better than Jennifer Lawrence.Â
Megumi Fushiguro
Fushiguro once tried to pick up smoking in middle school. He gave up because he was irritated at how popular it became amongst his schoolmates when he did. He has a drawer full of un-replied confession letters. Fushiguro canât sleep without a bolster (he gets touchy in his sleep). Fushiguro cuts his own hair. His go-to drink is strawberry milk. Fushiguro is so unused to smiling he practices in front of his room mirror before giving up. In reality, when heâs genuinely happy his eyelashes grow by 3 centimeters. On some days, Fushiguro admits that Itadori is the person he will always count on to save him. Â
Nobara Kugisaki
Nobara likes to dress up in her room and pretend to be a cover girl or fashion model. She once found Inumaki-senpai attractive. But this was probably because he was quiet. Nobara actually got lost in Harajuku station before meeting Itadori and Fushiguro for the first time. Nobara only processes emotions by yelling. Nobara does not feel pain. Ever since arriving in Tokyo, she has been scouted for several television shows. They were all makeover specials. Nobara has a personal grudge against the mirror in Shibuyaâs UNIQLO store. She has a private photo folder in her phone dedicated to snaps of city lights, skyscrapers and Maki. Â
Inumaki Toge
Inumaki likes to visit convenience stores to look for new onigiri flavours. He assigns expletives to a different flavour every week, and enjoys swearing at others without them realizing. His uniform collar serves a dual purpose of concealment when he sticks his tongue out at people he doesnât like. Inumaki likes flirting. Inumaki secretly stocks up Yuta-senpaiâs favourite snacks just before he returns from missions. Inumaki longs to be kissed (on his beautiful, cursed mouth). He keeps a written diary of things people say to him and and things he would like to say back to them. Inumakiâs favourite verb is âsusumuâ (keep going).Â
Panda
Panda is intrigued by meat, particularly fried chicken, even if they cannot eat it. Panda does not like cooked vegetables. Panda gets PR packages from apparel and household brands with panda designs; they do monthly unboxing videos for over a million subscribers. Pandaâs favourite tv shows are Oprah and Japanese crime dramas. Panda reads religious texts on Shintoism in their free time. Pandaâs third core is a koala.Â
Maki Zenin
Maki once lost her glasses at a party and almost burned down an entire restaurant to look for it. Maki does not like spicy food because it makes her blush. Maki giggles at memes. She has timed crying breaks in the bathroom. Maki secretly names her cursed tools after her favourite celebrities. Maki always buys herself two birthday cake slices.Â
Aoi TodoÂ
Todo drinks protein shakes more often than he would like to admit. He has never won Maki in an arm wrestling match. Todoâs IQ fluctuates between 80 and 155. He has only been part of Takada-chanâs fan club for 6 months. 80% of Todoâs memory is fabricated fantasy. Todoâs teary face has made both children and grown men cry, out of fear. His dream is to open a pancake house.Â
Ijichi Kiyotaka
Despite his looks, Ijichi is skilled in Jujitsu and Aikido. He pre-orders extra sets of Itadoriâs uniform every month. He has at least 3 Fast and Furious movie posters in his bedroom. He likes to daydream about being part of an A-list sorcerer team with Nanami, with Gojo as his personal chauffeur. Ijichi keeps a treat money jar for every time he feels slighted or overly stressed at work. To date, he has used the jar to visit 3 Michelin-star restaurants.Â
Geto SuguruÂ
Geto developed a sweet tooth after enrolling in Jujutsu High. His first kiss was stolen by Gojo in a supply closet when they were both sixteen (the latter did it for fun). Geto was once dared to shave off all his hair and had to stifle a sob at the thought. Getoâs non-sorcerer disinfectant spray is coincidentally a rose-scented line of luxury cologne called Infinite Love. On a bad day, Geto finds himself indulging in dessert.Â
Gojo Satoru
Mostly shameless, Gojo feels the most self-conscious with his eyes uncovered. Gojo gets turned on by an exquisite pair of sunglasses. Gojo doesnât like drinking alcohol. Gojo once injected sugar into his blood, partly in jest, partly because he was curious. Gojo reads critical theory. Gojo uses SK-II facial treatment essence. Gojo likes reading fanfiction written about him. He keeps a scrapbook for deliberately ugly doodles of Jujutsu societyâs higher ups. He is the owner of tabloid news twitter account @jujutsushits. He is also the owner of twitter account @RealNanamiKento. When he has a bad day, Gojo scrolls through old, defunct chats between him and Geto. Â
Nanami Kento
Nanami has never suffered from hair loss problems. He earned a university degree after leaving Jujutsu High, where he majored in economics and minored in comparative literature. Nanami freelanced as a poet-writer for 2 months. He is so respectable in jujutsu society that he once sold (more like auctioned) his pair of menâs leather shoes for 500,000 JPY. The buyers were all women. He has a drawer of XXL condoms. He did not buy them (Gojo did). He keeps a slogan t shirt that reads âHot Stuffâ. He did not buy it (Haibara did). Nanami is fluent in 5 languages. Nanamiâs hobbies are ironing his blue dress shirt and getting into existential crises. Nanami has an excel sheet detailing his weekly expenses titled âletsgetthisbread.exe.â When embarrassed, Nanami is prone to hiccups.
Ryomen Sukuna
Sukuna has a personal list of âTop 10 Sukuna Badass Momentsâ playing on loop in his head. He sings when Itadori is in the shower to spite him, but mostly because he likes the sound of his own voice. Sukuna has a bad memory, having been alive for more than a thousand years. Sukuna hates contemporary fashion, but has a fascination for Crocs. He prefers jazz to imperial court music. Sukuna delivers lengthy, oftentimes ultraviolent monologues to Itadori when he is bored. He thinks he would make a good university professor. Sukuna is still terrified of motorised vehicles.Â

Notes: writing this was so fun, but some of it made me sad...Â
