How Baseball Broke My Heart
Many of sometimes not know that Jennifer Barretta is actually an of the best pool players in the world today. She was also a visit of Ms. Philadelphia. Jennifer is very popular Billiards Player in New York City as you desire. Not only luxury ? a Pool Sharpshooter, she also looks sharp in nearly anything she decides to wear. You can bet there is often a huge number individuals who that follow her when they know she will be playing a local game of pool.
A great way to meet simple . athletes is after the overall game as they board the c's bus or when are usually getting inside cars to go home. It's important to remember if they won the game, the way that they individually performed or the way that they feel physically as all could consist factor within your success in getting an autograph. If they hit an online game winning great hit that takes them on the playoffs, your chances might be better. If they made key mistake that cost the c's the game, your chances might become more difficult. Be understanding. Also, be associated with security. Most lots have security to guard the players from people's so, make sure and check things out before you waste period and waiting for something you will likely have impossible to obtain.

The goal is to go college, but being accepted using a college which specializes in business Degrees, NFT sports collectables for athletes when goal existence is to work as a doctor, won't performance.
Although I enjoy music, possibilities certainly occasions when I prefer a silent cost. Sometimes there's no replace just hearing and seeing the rhythm of your heart as well as your feet hitting the pavement. Nearly all of the time, though, I'm just like Rocky--I might need a soundtrack!
After may established you just used in order to just like now - really lay that on thick - explain for them that you came upon the fix! Your whole life changed once problem was went! You can't believe major difference in living since you found costs. What's the way out? They will find it in product or service that you're selling. Allison Fisher wins WPBA Ashton Twins Classic
Tumblr media
Allison “Duchess of Doom” is the winner of WPBA’s first tournament in 2020, the Ashton Twins Classic in Calgary, Canada.
Jennifer Barretta had sent Fisher to the loss side last night but she fought through to win her B-side final over Kristina Tkach, 9-6. This meant that the tournament final would feature Barretta v. Fisher once more.
The ladies didn’t give each other many chances to pull ahead and the rematch swung back and forth until 9-7 when Fisher came within two games to win it all. Barretta was able to pick up one more game but then Fisher fended her off to end the final match 11-8.

The winner received $10,000. The runner-up got $5,600. There were 50 players in the field.
Some would say that the female pros don’t get as much attention and play lesser known events, but the WPBA did a fine job with the Ashton Twins Classic. The event was held at the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino, a nice venue in Calgary, Canada. The live streams and commentary by Cue Sports Live were of the highest production caliber. The final match probably attracted over 3,000 online viewers, a testament to the popularity of pool and the female players.

The Pool Scene - Henrik Larsson, Jennifer Barretta, Vilmos Foldes - World Pool Billiard
New Post on http://thepoolscene.com/?p=21356
LARSSON LEAVES LITTLE DOUBT
Wheelchair world champ shines along with Brits, Filipinos and Finns on a tough Day 1 at  the World Pool Series in New York.
4-time World 9-ball Wheelchair Champion Henrik Larsson of Sweden advanced to the final 64 at the Molinair Players Championship in New York.
By Ted LernerWPS Media Officer
Photos By JP Parmentier/WPS
(New York City)–England’s Darren Appleton promised his fellow players that his new World Pool Series would give the players exactly what they’ve always wanted; a players’ centered tour with rules and a setup designed to test the world’s best pool players to the limits of their skills.
If the results of Day 1 of the tour’s first event, the Molinari Players Championship, are any indication, that promise has already been fulfilled.
Long races, pockets at a stingy 4.25 inches, breaking outside the center box, having to “take what you make” on the break, 3-foul rule, shootouts on hill-hill matches, and single elimination; these tweaks to traditional 8-ball rules all came together Saturday to prove that the world’s most popular cue game can truly be a hardcore test of pool.
The USA’s Jennifer Baretta was one of two women players to win their matches against the men in New York today.
In a long grind of a day at New York’s famed Steinway Billiards in Queens that began at 10am and ended past midnight, 56 matches were completed with nearly the half the field already being shown the exit into the cold New York night.(8 top seeded players received byes.) The field is now down to the last 64.
With some matches taking over three hours to complete, it’s clear that stamina and patience will be of utmost importance. So will talent. Don’t expect any pretenders to make a claim on the $20,000 first prize to be handed out on Tuesday night.
It’s perform or take a hike, and even then there’s no guarantee, as American pool great Johnny Archer found out.  Archer and Finland’s unheralded Kim Laaksonen engaged in a back and forth battle, until the Finn pulled away at the end for a hard fought 13-11 win.
Laaksonen’s win wasn’t the only good news for Finland today and bad news for the USA. Petri Makkonen took down the USA’s Mike Dechaine by an identical score line. Both Finns move on while both highly regarded Americans are out.
Another Finnish player also advanced this time in dramatic fashion. Matti Väyrynen’s match with Frenchman Pierre Palmieri went to 12-12, and the two engaged in a thrilling shootout, will both potting pressure packed spot shots on the 8-ball until the Finn came out on top.
With a large field of Americans it certainly wasn’t all doom and gloom for the USA. Rodney Morris, Earl Strickland, Jeremy Jones, Max Eberle, Shaun Wilkie, Raphael Debreo and Jennifer Barretta all advanced.
Barretta was one of four women players entered into the field and one of two to make it through, along with Norway’s Line Kjorsvik.
Hungary’s Vilmos Foldes emerged victorious after a tough slog against the Philippines Francisco Bustamante.
Appleton’s idea is to showcase the very best talent from all facets of the game, and this led to several wheelchair players being entered into the field, perhaps a first for professional pool. In what will surely be one of the feel good stories of year, Sweden’s Henrik Larsson, a four time WPA World 9-ball Champion wheelchair player, defeated able bodied Canadian Eric Horlfieson 13-9 to advance to the final 64. Larsson, who once had a run of 97 balls in straight pool, is a marvel to watch up close as he exhibits top tier position play and a super confident demeanor.
Fans looking for betting angles might want to pay attention to the British contingent over the next few days. The British lads, most of whom first cut their cue playing chops playing English 8-ball, put in solid performances today. 2010 World 8-ball Champion Karl Boyes handily defeated Ireland’s Sean Hoey, 13-3. 2-time English 8-ball world champion Chris Melling made a solid return to American pool with a 13-8 win over France’s Vincent Faquet. Imran Majid and Mark Gray all pulled through nicely. With Appleton and white hot Jayson Shaw getting byes, the Brits are almost sure to go deep into the championship.
The always strong Filipino contingent performed well today. Dennis Orcollo, Johan Chua, Lee Vann Corteza, Israel Rota and veteran Ramil Gallego all advanced with solid wins. The only Filipino of note to stumble was Hall of Famer Francisco Bustamante. Bustamante lost a hard fought slog with Hungary’s Vilmos Foldes, 13-11.
Play continues at Steinway Billiards on Sunday beginning at 10am Eastern Time(GMT -5) with the round of 64 and 32. The last 16 and quarterfinals will be played on Monday. The semi-final and final will be held on Tuesday.
*The first event of the World Pool Series, The Molinari Players Championship, takes place at Steinway Billiards in Astoria, Queens, New York City from January 14-17, 2017. The World Pool Series is sponsored by Molinari, Predator, Cheqio, RYO Rack, Aramith, Iwan Simonis, Kamui, Billiards Digest, Ultimate Team Gear, and High Rock.

Corr Wins Rivers Casino Open
PITTSBURGH — April 24, 2017 Karen Corr defeated Siming Chen in a heart-pounding, sudden death finale, capping off a four-day competition featuring the top 48-ranked pros of the Women’s Professional Billiard Association. The event ran April 19th-23rd, bringing back the final four players for Sunday’s performance. Brittany Bryant (Canada) and Line Kjorsvik (Norway) also made the cut, tying for third place.
The 2017 Rivers Casino Open, held April 19th-23rd, proved very exciting for the spectators in attendance and those who tuned in via the WPBA live stream. With the click of a mouse, fans could tune in to live matches on any one of six tournament tables, which included live scoring updates.
The Charity Pro-Am kicked off Wednesday afternoon, with 8 teams, each team paired with a Pro. After three fast and furious rounds of play, it was determined that “Team Brittany Bryant” and “Team Monica Webb” scored the most game wins in each round, and would face each other in a head-to-head final. Team Webb overcame Team Bryant for the win, and a great time was had by all participants! There was also a “Challenge the Pro” session with all proceeds going to charity. Top-ranked players took on all comers, offering their fans not only an opportunity to play their favorite pros, but a chance to autograph billiard memorabilia and snap photographs.
Thursday morning began the trek to Sunday’s semi-finals. Chen claimed the first semi spot with wins over Kristina Grim, 9-3, Naomi Williams, 9-0, Helena Thornfeldt, 9-3, and Line Kjorsvik, 9-4. The second semi spot was claimed by Karen Corr, with wins over Julie Kelly, 9-6, Jessica Barnes, 9-6, Janet Atwell, 9- 6, Monica Webb, 9-7, and Brittany Bryant, 9-3. Challengers were grinding it out on the west side of the chart, hoping to make Sunday’s show. Brittany Bryant bested Kelly Cavanaugh, 9-4, Robin Parker, 9-1, and Jennifer Barretta, 9-7, before losing to Corr. Bryant went on to beat Julie Kelly, 9-6, for an opportunity to face Chen in the first semi-final. The 2017 WPBA Masters Champion and new number one ranked WPBA player, Line Kjorsvik, beat Suzanne Peters, 9-6, Teruko Cucculelli, 9-3, and Sandy Badger, 9-3, but fell to Chen. From the one-loss side, Line went on to eliminate Monica Webb, 9-6, earning herself a shot at Corr in the second semi-final. Chen overcame Bryant both sets, 4-1 and 4-2, to reach the finals. Corr experienced another sudden death match with Line, but this time, she prevailed. Corr won the first set 4-1, and Line answered back, taking the second set, 4-1. Corr responded, winning the sudden death game to face Chen in the finals.
Siming played lights out all week, with a stable of opponents who could score no more than four games against her. In the first set, she cruised to a 4-0, but Karen fought back and won the second set, 4-3. Even on sets, players lagged for the break in the sudden death decider. Corr won the lag, broke, and made a ball on the break. Siming never made it back to the table. Corr made a nerve-racking out, flirting with the side pocket while playing position from the 6-ball to the 7-ball. The crowd watched and gasped in horror as the cue ball settled on the rail with perfect shape on the 7-ball. In true, champion form, Corr completed the run, earning herself a brand new title, 2017 Rivers Casino Open Champion!
The WPBA would like to thank its sponsors for this event, Rivers Casino and their staff who provided a
fabulous venue and outstanding service, Diamond Pool Tables who provided the playing equipment and set-up for the event, Simonis Cloth who provided the cloth for the playing surface, and Aramith Pool Balls who supplied the brand new balls sets. Thanks go out to Dave Jacoby for building the WPBA 40th Anniversary Custom Cue for which raffles tickets were sold during the week, and given away on Sunday.

Brittany Bryant goes undefeated at WPBA event
We all knew it would only be a matter of time before Brittany Bryant would bring a WPBA title home to Canada. The wait has ended. On October 18-21st, the 10k added WPBA Pro Women’s Signature Event was being held at Borderline Billiards in Bristol, TN. A free live stream was also provided by PoolActionTV.
Brittany’s road to victory started of with wins over Autumn Duncan (7-2) and Bonnie Arnold (7-3) before facing “The Texas Tornado” Vivian Villarreal. This match went down to the wire as Brit took the win 7-6. Another hill-hill win over Jia Li put her up against “The Irish Invader” Karen Corr. This weekend belonged to Brittany as she put herself in the a-side finals with a 7-3 win over Corr. In the hot-seat match Brittany secured her spot in the finals with a 7-5 win over Line Kjorsvik.
Coming out of the b-side bracket, Mary Rakin was on a mission of her own after losing her second round match to Allison Fisher. Mary’s run for the title would end a few games short as the Canadian Bombshell Brittany Bryant won her first ever WPBA title with a 7-4 win. Congratulations Brittany, I’m sure there are many more titles in your future.

Asia Victorious in Dramatic Finale of AM8.com Queens Cup

In a roller coaster ride final day 3, a relieved Team Asia celebrates victory after a late charge by the Europeans & Americans
Manila, Philippines- Team Asia survived a dramatic comeback by Team West in the third and final day of the AM8.com Queens Cup. Asia’s foursome had led each day of the event and extended to a 3 match lead, but the European/American squad bounced back and swept Asia in the first three matches of Day 3. The 2015 亚美娱乐 AM8.com Queens Cup aired nightly on primetime hours of 6:00pm – 10:00pm on ABS-CBN Sports + Action channel. The 亚美娱乐 AM8.com Queens Cup re-ignited the greatest rivalry in women’s billiards April 16-18th, 2015 which featured champions vs champions as the best women from Asia will took on the best in the West! The 亚美娱乐 AM8.com Queens Cup was hosted by the award winning Resorts World Manila Casino & Hotel and sponsored by Andy Cloth , Aramith Balls, Viking Cue, with live streaming by Red Cube Productions. The Queens Cup is a Dragon Promotions production.
The day before, the Captain for the West made an near ominous prediction, “We started slow, but ended strong again. And tomorrow’s line-up is in our favor. We are already doing better than the last Team West from the first Queen’s Cup, so we know we are a different team. We can win”, said Ewa Mataya Laurance, skipper for the West.
A very concerned Team Asia lost it’s joy and laughter when the momentum shifted to the West and seeing their best players dominated by Karen Corr.
Captain Laurance chose to put Karen Corr to start the day. Corr had been the best player of the entire event thus far, so this was a sound decision. Captain Amit put her hopes in Korea’s young Eunji Park. The last time the two had faced each other, Park had knocked Corr out of the US Open. Park and Corr dueled the first game in a cat and mouse game after Corr missed a golden chance to runout. Park played a great safety hooking Corr, but Corr came right back with a great kickshot. Park was forced to jump and made a good contact, and got a fortunate roll to re-safe Corr. Karen made a good contact but inadvertently scratched. Park took the game and the next jumping to a 2-0 lead, and things looked grim on the West’s side as they had also dropped the first match of Day 1 and Day 2. A miss by Park in the third game gave Corr a chance to get on the board. Things turned around with a break and run by Corr and suddenly the tide turned. Park continued errors as Corr came on stronger and eventually took the match with 4 unanswered racks. Asia 7 West 5.
The many faces of Karen. With the entire hopes of Team West upon her shoulders, The Irish Invader almost single handedly puilled off the impossible
Corr was put right back in again with her familiar partner of the past 3 days, Jennifer Barretta. They faced Park/J.Chen. Captain Laurance’s faith in the duo paid off in a 4-0 whitewash, and suddenly the West had come back to life! They were down only 1 match at Asia 7 West 6.
The tandem of Barretta and Corr turned out to be a good partnership during the Queens Cup
Corr was called upon one more time as she was placed in the first 3 matches as the anchor of Team West. This time would be the most challenging as she faced the #1 ranked player in the world in Siming Chen. Donned the “Most Dangerous Lady” in pool, Chen came out strong and making hardly an error, jumped to a 3-1 lead. Undeterred, the “Irish Invader” took each shot one by one and forced a final game to the cheers of her teammates. In the final game, a great break by Corr enabled a full clearance to not only defeat Asia’s anchor, but to level the series at 7-7! This was the first time in the Queens Cup that the West had won 3 matches in a row thanks to the Irish workhorse in Karen Corr. Karen would later gain the distinction as the MVP of Team West with 6 match wins.
A jubilant Team West celebrates tying the series at 7-7. A far cry from the 2-6 deficit they faced the day before.
Next in the triples, Captain Laurance would finally join in along with Villarreal and Corr. Asia’s Captain Amit, Jennifer Chen and Siming returned. The West’s trio was not able to put anything together, and not even Corr was able to carry the rest of her teammates in her 4th straight match of the day. Asia was able to stop the West’s momentum 4-1. The next match would add Barretta to her teammates in the 4-on-4, but the West was not feeling it in the big group matches unlike the day before where they excelled in the triples and quadruples. Amit was able to keep her team calm and led them to their own 2 match streak pulling away to the hill 9-7.
Amit was able to keep her team calm and cool even in the face of the dramatic turn of events
Singles was up next, and the West had Villarreal up while Amit had placed herself in this position. Villarreal had been on a hot streak during the first 2 days and next to Corr, was the second best player on the team. Also, the next match would be losing team captain’s pick singles which would mean that the West would be able to choose both players from the two teams. Likely this would be a re-match of Corr and Park from what Laurance had mentioned. And if the West would win that one, it would mean a score of 9-9 resulting in a 4 on 4 finale. So, the vital importance of winning this match was mountainous upon the shoulders of both players.
The pressure was thick as butter in the standing room crowd on the finale day
“If I lost that match I knew that it would mean we could very well goto 9-9 for a one match decider for the event. So playing Vivian was like the finals. There was so much pressure it was crazy”, said Rubilen Amit, captain of Team Asia. Amit would be declared the MVP of the AM8.com Queens Cup for her outstanding leadership bringing together 4 countries into unison. Plus her monumental contribution of 8 wins and 2 loss record, including going undefeated in both her singles matches. Amit has yet to drop a singles match in her tenure during her two appearances at the Queens Cup.
After making an incredible runout, Vivian misses an easy 9-ball.
With the whole continent upon her shoulders, the small in stature Amit came out big the first game with a break and run. An unexpected miss by Amit on the second to the last ball in game 2 breathed life into Villarreal and she tied 1-1. Amit struck back taking the next rack to hold the lead 2-1. Villarreal made some fantastic shots in game 4, playing fast and loose. She looked to have the game easily in hand when she abruptly missed the 9-ball! Amit took full advantage to take the game and placed herself on the hill 3-1, needing only one more game to finish the match. The final game saw Amit facing a difficult rack clearance, but possible to play nevertheless. The 2-time world champion held her nerve in check each shot, making the balls and playing good percentage position for the next ball. She shot herself out of each jam perfectly. Finally came the last ball of the event, an open 10-ball that was makeable but also one that could be missed, especially given what was at stake. With her teammates waiting, praying, and holding their breath on the sidelines, Amit steeled her nerves one last time and downed the winning ball. The ecstatic Asian champions all rushed into the arena to congratulate their captain and celebrate the hard fought victory that required three days of teamwork, discipline, and faith.
These four ladies proved for another year that Asia is the continent to beat when it comes to the sport of women’s billiards.

“Bingkay (Amit’s nickname) is the kind of Filipina athlete we can all look up to. She is incredibly disciplined and makes the most of her talent. She really deserves to be a part of this team, since she has a track record of success.”, explains Bob Guerrero of Yahoo Sports. The ABS-CBN football and billiards sports analyst adds, “Bingkay should also be a terrific captain. She has the personality to bring out the best in the other Asian players, with whom she is very close to. Bingkay is a fun-loving young lady, so for sure she will keep things loose and fun as well. The East team will be very tough to beat with her in it.”
“The last AM8.com Queens Cup was truly an experience to remember. Im honored and thankful to be able to participate in this exciting event. Being chosen captain is such a huge honor and to be honest, it’s a lot more pressure. But I learned so much from being a part of the past team events from leaders such as Efren Reyes. He is so inspiring with his will to win. I will follow in the footsteps of these great men and women that have led me in the past. I’m up for the challenge”, said Amit when asked about moving from her typical role of player to leader.
“Rubilen is one of those quiet champions that doesn’t make a lot of noise, but when you talk about the best of the best, you have to include her. She has the humility of Efren Reyes, the precision of Dennis Orcullo, and the heart of Alex Pagulayan. And her stats in team competition is incredible. She was the obvious choice to captain Team Asia this year”, explained Charlie Williams, Executive Producer of the AM8.com Queens Cup .
The Queens Cup will showcase the rivalry between the Asians and their western counterparts in Europe and USA, very similar to the Ryder Cup in golf or Davis Cup in tennis. Elite professional ladies from their respective countries and continents are selected onto two sides representing the East and West. The event will last 3 days in a 10-Ball format that will conclude when one team reaches 10 match wins. Style of play will include singles, doubles, triples, and 4-on-4. Captains will be put to the test to create the best strategy in partnerships and chemistry of match-ups. If the matches go 9 to 9 hill-hill, a final 4-on-4 play will set the scene for the dramatic conclusion.
Rubilen Amit was born in the Cebu region of the Philippines, and graduated with an accounting degree along with a couple collegiate billiard titles. In 2005, she started officially representing her country as she was selected on the Philippines National Team for the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) where she won took home the gold. This would be the first of 7 gold medals that she would win in her career for her country. Her breakthrough came when she shocked the world by winning the Women’s World 10-Ball in 2009, and then becoming the only player to repeat the feat when she won again. Aside from singles events, Amit has had an unusually high success rate in team competitions. She has won two World Mixed Doubles titles with her hero Efren Reyes both times, took the silver in the Team Philippines finale at the World Team Championship, and nearly went undefeated for Team Asia all 3 days of the last Queens Cup.
Rubilen feels blessed to have learned from such masters as “Bata” and will use those pearls to lead Team Asia to victory
