Original Art - Planet Of The Apes #085 Pg 01 (1976) by Jeff Aclin And Bob Layton
From ha.com...
This British weekly comic featured Planet of the Apes lead content, with reprints of many other Marvel comic stories. This piece was created as an all-new original art splash page to introduce a segment of the story from Captain Marvel #28. It features Drax the Destroyer, who is currently enjoying popularity from his appearances in the Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy movie franchise. There is even an image of Thanos, the mad god of Titan, in the statue Drax is smashing. All text is paste-up. There is a cute inked drawing of a duck on the reverse side, that seems to be inker Bob Layton's way of saying "Hi" to Marie Severin. Signed by artist Jeff Aclin in the top margin.

Star Wars Weekly No. 28, week ending 16 August 1978. I can suspend my disbelief as much as anyone but the poses Luke Skywalker is getting in to on both the cover and in the Pin-Up Special are just too much. He's bound to have done himself an injury.
I think the cover is by Howard Bender and Tom Palmer (going by the signatures middle left) and I've seen the pin-up credited to Jeff Aclin.

Episode 151- Setting Buildings On Fire (Wilderness Years Part 4)
Tumblr media
Part 4 of "The Wilderness Years"! Where we are covering the period between Marvel Two-In-One Annual 2 and Silver Surfer 34, when both Adam and Thanos were "dead"! Covering all of their flashbacks, cameos and cosmic events that will eventually lead us to The Infinity Gauntlet!
Sara Century and S.E. Fleenor (from Bitches on Comics) are back for one more go around with Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell) and Drax the Destroyer! Besides talking about the ending of Isaac's plan to conquer both Titan and Earth we also give Drax some relationship advise, talk about his branding and figure out which characters have names that would also be good for dogs!
Covering Captain Marvel #62 and Marvel Spotlight #1 & 2.

Coming up on Heritage Auctions next week in their next Art & Animation Select Auction are a few British comic art items, including a great Dan Dare page from Eagle, by Frank Hampson and team.
First, there’s a smashing page by Commando cover artist Ken Barr, a page from for Hot Stuf’ a US anthology magazine edited by Sal Quartuccio, published in 1978, the issue also including contributions from Neal Adams. Bil and Nish Maher, Tim Boxell, Ernie Colon, Nicola Cuti, Rich Larson.
(Abe Book has a copy of the magazine itself on offer here, from a US-based seller)
Next, a "Dan Dare" cover for Eagle Volume One No.21 by Frank Hampson and team. Created in ink and watercolour over graphite on three illustration board sections joined with tape, with a combined image area of 14.25" x 18.75". The blank space is, of course, where the Eagle logo would be on publication.
How about Episode H753 of “Jeff Hawke” for the Daily Express by Sydney Jordan, signed by the artist? It seems like extraterrestrials are gathering human specimens for their research in this classic episode of the strip, which over its long run, gained an especially strong following in Continental Europe. Ink, white paint, and letratone over graphite on illustration board with an image area of approximately 15" x 4.75".
Plus, check out Episode H4928 of “Jeff Hawke” for the Daily Express by Sydney Jordan, signed by the artist. Ink and letratone over graphite on illustration board with an image area measures 15" x 4”, signed twice, front and back, by Jordan.
Artists whose work also features in this auction include Sergio Aragonés,  Peter Bagge, Ken Barr, Pat Broderick and Bob Wiacek, John Byrne and Tom Palmer, Milton Caniff, Howard Chaykin, Jeff Aclin, and Juan Ortiz, Jim Davis, Virgil Finlay, José Luis García-Lopez and Frank McLaughlin, Jaime Hernandez, Frank Robbins, Al Williamson and many more...
