“What if the lights go out?” Y/N questions her boyfriend, her voice a soft whimper. She’s sitting on the couch, her knees brought to her chest and a blanket wrapped around her. 

The thunderstorm outside is causing her anxiety. She jumps at every thunderclap and flash of lightning. Her fear of storms dates back to her childhood when she and her childhood friend was made to tidy up the backyard during a thunderstorm by her friends' grandmother. A lightning bolt struck a nearby rooftop, leaving them both children terrified. 

Knowing of her fear of thunderstorms, San came straight to Y/N’s apartment after he finished dance practice. When he arrived at her apartment, she was hidden under a blanket with the curtains closed and every light on. She was cuddling the plushie he’d gotten for her for when he wasn’t there.    

“You have a million candles that we can use, safely of course,” San lightly teases, as he lights a couple of them “And I’m here to hold you until it’s all over.”   

He sits down, opening his arms towards her. She moves into his arms, curling into his side and her head resting on his shoulder. A few seconds later there is another flash of lightning and a rumble of thunder which causes the power to go out. 

Y/N's heart races as the room is plunged into darkness, her grip on San tightening instinctively. The storm outside seemed to rage louder, the thunder echoing through the apartment. San, though startled himself, remains calm for Y/N. He gently rubs her back, his voice steady as he whispers, "It's okay, Y/N. We're safe. Just take deep breaths and focus on my voice."  

He begins to sing, his beautiful voice becoming her anchor. As she focuses on his soothing vocals, she begins to relax. The sound of the storm fades into the background as her eyelids grow heavy.

June of Doom Day Three: Ambushed

Summary: An AU where Vader discovers Obi-wan at a much earlier time period. (Set a few weeks before "Kenobi")

Masterlist | Day Two

Obi-wan Kenobi is beginning to understand why his former apprentice despised sand so much. 

It’s everywhere. In his hair, in his shoes, down his tunic, in his cot, in his food – no matter where he looks and no matter what he does it is always there: sand. He supposes it’s what he gets for choosing to stay on Tatooine to look over the son of his old padawan.  

He misses him. Anakin- of course. 

He was a brother to him. The closest thing to family one could get to someone disallowed from forming attachments. It’s hypocritical. He knows it is. But one cannot help but look back to more promising times. Where the galaxy was Kenobi’s oyster, and he had the ability to do good. Real good. Not just stabbing droids and fighting various Sith lords but maintaining peace and prosperity between all people.  

Now, Anakin is no more. Replaced and manipulated by Sheev Palpatine to be molded into something inhuman. Something dangerous. He is no longer the small slave boy he met on this very planet all those years ago. He is Darth Vader: the devastating pawn of the Empire that can ground whole Starship battalions with a simple wave of his hand and clench of his fist. And you know the most ironic part of it all? 

Obi-wan is the one who pushed him in the wrong direction in the first place. 

But you already know this. I won’t elaborate. Obi-wan pushes Anakin to the Dark Side (intentionally or otherwise), Order 66 takes place (his brothers tried to kill him), the Jedi are dead (didn’t I say I wouldn’t elaborate? Never mind), and now they are both alone on opposite sides of the galaxy. 

Or so Obi-wan thinks. 

It happens on his way back to the cave he calls home. It’s late evening – the twin suns falling between the cracks in the rock in front of him and blinding him. He carries a lump of bread under his armpit and a bag full of various mechanical parts that will hopefully be used to repair the Speeder he managed to salvage a few rotations ago, as well as the miniscule number of credits he earns at his pitiful job.  

He steps into his home after trudging along for a while, dropping the bread at one point and grumbling as he bends over to pick it up again, only for the contents of his bag to spill out all over the floor. 

His old strength has left him, and the Force is elsewhere, so he is forced to pick it all up by hand. It’s only when he finally returns all the parts to the bag and places it on the table with a tired thud that he speaks. 

“You’ve grown senile in age, Kenobi. I thought you were better than this.” 

He freezes in place. Maybe, if he is deadly silent and still and doesn’t turn around, he won’t see him. 

“Look at me, Obi-wan.” 

Well, that didn’t work. Slowly and with a dreaded pit in his stomach, Obi-wan turns to face his old padawan. Once done, he is rooted to the spot where he stands. Frozen. Useless. 

“Say something, Master.” The courtesy is spat at him like venom and Obi-wan fights the urge to flinch at it. It has been years since anyone has called him that. A black, soulless visor glares at him from where Vader stands in the corner of his room as if he were the Boogey Man.  

“Anakin, I-” 

Vader cuts him off. “Anakin is dead. We killed him on Mustafar.” Obi-wan dislikes the usage of ‘we’ in that sentence. “I am here, finally, to cut off some loose ends. Doing so in this way makes you luckier than most. I’m here to kill you, Obi-wan.” 

It’s then when the Universe decides to play a trick on the old Jedi Master. It’s then when the Universe decides to thrust all the nostalgic memories of the past on the man. The joy, the sadness, the howls of laughter, the sounds of blaster bolts and lightsabres making contact with each other. Times were simpler back then – when Obi-wan was a padawan himself and Anakin a simple slave boy trying to help his mother. The kind, righteous, simple boy who stands in front of him is no longer kind, righteous, or simple. He is a blight of terror that strikes fear into the hearts of millions- maybe even billions or trillions in the galaxy.  

The sound of ignition of Vader’s lightsabre reaches his ears, and Obi-wan closes his eyes. In the back of his mind, he sends a sorrowful prayer and apology to the son of the man in front of him, whom he is yet unaware of his presence on the planet.  

“Do what you must.”

Summary:

[It had been a few months since Umbara; the 416th had mostly stayed in orbit recovering and reporting to the Jedi Council and Senate about Krell’s defection. While they probably knew that the Jedi as a whole were on their side, Barriss knew that establishing trust with the troopers would be a difficult task. It was one she was ready to take up slowly, as much as she wasn’t fond of interacting with people. And she’d do her best, naturally, both for her vow and the troopers themselves.

He heard they had a huge hand in the successful mission on Umbara and that they’d helped take down the rogue Jedi turned Sith Pong Krell. It for sure made his job easier that he didn’t have to deal with the Sith Scum.

“Fives. Jesse.” Fox sticks his hand out to shake their hands. “Good to finally meet you guys. Heard a lot about you.”

“Likewise.” Jesse nods. “We’re here to help.” 

“Thank you. I appreciate it.” Fox tells them, genuinely.

He’s exhausted and has barely slept five hours in the last week. You’ve been gone far too long. He wakes up at night, angry and in tears. He tells himself that he can sleep when he gets you back safely.

“Fives and Jesse are two of the best arc troopers out there.” General Skywalker assures Fox. 

“I can also confirm that.” Rex tells Fox, patting him on the back. 

“We’re going to get her back, Commander.” Anakin assures him.

They’d been working tirelessly to find any sort of clue as to where you were. They’d finally found an informant of Dooku’s who barely took any sort of convincing, he was so afraid of Skywalker. It was a good thing too, because Fox was nearing desperation… There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do to get you back at this point. 

As they board the ship, Fox thanks the men of the 501st and tells them to wake him up as soon as they reach Serenno. He knows he needs sleep. Before this, he was used to little sleep. He’d get maybe five hours a night. Now… he’s starting to experience dizziness and hallucinations. 

Yesterday, he thought he saw you walk past him and he started to chase after you. It was only one of the Coruscant medics and she was rightfully scared out of her mind when Fox grabbed her. He had apologized profusely. 

Fox finds a seat to take a nap in, not even caring if it’s comfortable. Within two seconds of sitting, he falls right asleep, dreaming of simpler days with you.

I’m gonna marry this woman, Fox thinks to himself, watching you sing along to the music as you cook breakfast, wearing his shirt. He’d never seen someone so beautiful.

When you turn around, you see your partner and start grinning immediately. You’d only been going out maybe a couple months and this was the first time that Fox stayed over. 

There had been a peaceful protest the day before, one that thankfully stayed peaceful, and Fox had offered to walk you home. When you had gotten home, you asked him if he wanted to stay.

“Good morning.” You make him a plate.

“Good morning, cyare.” He comes over to you, kissing you. 

You set the pan back down on the stove, wrapping your arms around the clone commander’s neck, running your hands through his curls. 

“How do you look so perfect in the morning?” He takes the plate from your hands, sits it down, and backs you up against the counter.

“I don’t, but you’re sweet for saying so.” You kiss him again as he picks you up and sits you on the counter. 

“Don’t argue with me.” He moves his lips to your neck and your mind goes blank except with need.

You wrap your legs around him, pulling him as close as possible. Breakfast is suddenly forgotten as he carries you back to bed to have his way with you. 

You had tried to escape. You had tried really hard. Even made it to Dooku’s hangar and almost to a ship, despite not knowing the first thing about flying. But you were prepared to deal with that problem when you got to the ship. 

Except… Ventress had intercepted you and beat the shit out of you, dragging you kicking and screaming back to your cell by your hair. 

Then, you tried again when some droid had brought you breakfast, which Ventress had been anticipating and force choked you so hard that you thought you teetered the near death line a little too closely. 

You weren’t a Jedi. You weren’t a clone. You weren’t a warrior. You weren’t built or trained for this sort of thing. 

Ventress had broken your spirit. You tried to fight back… and you lost. Fox had no idea where you were and you would most likely die here. Wherever here is. 

All you know is, you’d rather die than join the Sith.

“Fox, we’re here.” Rex wakes him up, gently.

Fox wakes up with a start and stands up, swaying with tiredness. Rex keeps him up straight.

“Remember what I said about your emotions, commander.” Skywalker reminds him. 

“Ha.” Rex walks away.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Anakin follows after him.

“Are you alright?” Thorn asks Fox, coming up from the cockpit. 

Fox nods. “I’m fine.”

“You’re sure? You don’t need to sit it out?” Stone asks him.

Fox gives him a “You’re joking, right?” look and Thorn just pats him on the back, clearly having been joking to lighten the mood a little bit. Fox feels a little bad that he's been so dark and broody this last week, but he knows that Thorn understands.

“Let’s go get her back.” Fox nods and goes with Thorn and Stone out the hatch. 

“Ohhh little rebel.” Ventress’ voice sings.

You ignore her, pulling the thin piece of fabric that they’d given you up closer to your shoulder. Perhaps if you just ignore her, she’ll leave you alone.

“Your friends are here to get you.” She taunts you.

Your heart lurches at the thought of Fox. You don’t believe her, though. This is just a new trick.

“It’s too bad it’s no use.” She grabs your arm, yanking you up from the cot. 

You’re still bruised and in pain from her beating the crap out of you the first time. You’re pretty sure you have a few cracked ribs. Pain shoots through your chest and in your legs. 

“Let… me go.” Your voice cracks as you try to pull your arm away from her, obviously not succeeding.

“Amazing.” Ventress pulls you toward the door. “You still have an ounce of fight in you.”

You limp, feebly, as she drags you back toward the hangar that you had tried desperately to escape to the first time. You barely have it in you to lift up your head. 

“Ventress! Let her go!” You suddenly hear a familiar deep voice that you think belongs to Anakin Skywalker. 

Anakin Skywalker is here?

Weakly, you look up in time to see a blue lightsaber coming your way. Soon after, there’s blaster fire coming from the other side and you see Fox, Thorn, Stone, three clones in blue armor and Ahsoka Tano. 

Fox yells your name and your eyes lock onto him.

Fox. He came for you. He found you.

“Fox.” You whisper, falling to your knees as Ventress pushes you away and starts to go head to head with Anakin Skywalker. 

Ahsoka and Fox rush to your side. 

Fox found you. He finally found you and he can’t stop crying as he and Commander Tano pull you safely to their ship with Thorn and Stone covering them as they do so. He knows he shouldn’t be crying like this in front of a Jedi commander but right now, he can’t bring himself to give a single fuck. You’re here and back in his arms. That’s all that matters.

Ahsoka helps you into a seat and Fox tears off his helmet, dropping it to the floor as he falls to his knees in front of you.

“I’ll give you two some privacy.” Ahsoka pats you on the shoulder, walking away. 

You and Fox look at each other with tears streaming down both of your faces as he cups your face, kissing you desperately between sobs. 

“It’s…okay.” You choke. “I’m… okay.” 

“I’m so sorry, cyare. I’m so so sorry.” He begs you for forgiveness. 

“Me too…” You whisper against his lips. 

He continues to kiss you, panting against you. 

“I love you so much.” He tells you. “Always. I’m never letting you go again. Please believe me.”

“I love you, too.” You assure him. “And I do.”

He finally stops crying and rests his head in your lap, holding onto your legs, and you comb your fingers through the familiar black curls, brushing your fingers across the gray patch that you’ve missed so much.

You look up at Thorn and Stone and they’re smiling down at you, clearly happy to see you as well. You’re just as happy to see them.

“Sorry, I’m such a mess.” You swallow the lump in your throat that keeps forming.

“Don’t be. We’re just glad you’re alright.” Thorn nods to you, leading Stone away. 

Fox gets back up, sitting in the chair next to you, checking all your bruises and cuts, wincing at all that he finds.

When Skywalker and the three blue armored clones finally get back on board, they take off immediately. 

Only once you’re in hyperspace do you finally relax. Exhaustion sets in as soon as the adrenaline wears off and you feel yourself go weak again.

Ahsoka brings over a medic by the name of Kix so he can check you for any serious damage, which you don’t think you have, but you still let him check you over with a scanner. Fox’s eyes and hand never leave you. Not even for a moment. You’re almost sure they never will again.

“You have a few cracked ribs but no internal bleeding.” Kix, tells you, giving you something for the pain. 

Fox doesn’t leave your side for even a second. As soon as Anakin Skywalker comes in, you know you’re about to be questioned.

“General… this can surely wait, right?” Fox stands up, protectively. “She needs rest.”

“I’m sorry, Fox… It can’t. I need to know what happened while everything is still fresh in her mind.” He tells him.

Fox looks down at you as if waiting for you to tell him to fight the general. It’s sweet, but unnecessary. You look at the general and nod.

“I’ll answer your questions, general.” You tell him.

You understand why he’s doing this. It’s not that big of a deal and you know the sooner you do this, the sooner you can take a nap and be alone with Fox again.

“Please, call me Anakin.” Anakin comes in and stands next to you.

“Or Skyguy as I like to call him.” Ahsoka appears in the doorway, chuckling.

“What do you want to know?” You ask him.

After Anakin finishes asking you questions, Fox helps you into a hoverchair and takes you to one of the bunk rooms. He helps you lay down and starts to sit on the floor but you pull him into the bunk with you.

“Are… are you sure?” He asks you, softly.

He hesitates but you’ve missed him desperately the last six months. If he turns you away now, it may kill you.

“Please… I need you.” You whisper. “Unless you don’t want to-”

“No, cyare. Of course I want to.” He gently climbs over you into the bunk. “I just know you’re in pain.”

“The pain meds that Kix gave me kicked in.” You tell him. “I need to be held by my riduur.”

With that last word, Fox aligns his body with yours, gently holding you close as you lay on your back. You feel his breath hitch as breathes you in and takes your hand, bringing it up to his lips before gently resting it down at your side. And soon after, you hear his soft snores that you’d missed so deeply. 

For the first time in six months, you both finally feel at peace. You can finally sleep peacefully again, knowing Fox is never going anywhere ever again.

Din Djarin x Former Padawan!F! Reader

PART 1

A/N: Well... It's almost June and I'm posting my first fic of the year. I'm not gonna lie this fic is really dense and relies a lot more on dialogue. But I really love the interaction and tried to stay true to all the characters. Anyways, I hope you really enjoy it. I'm just glad to be back and posting stuff that's mine.

You stared at the little one across from you, sucking on the fabric of his robe like an infant. 

He seemed so small, so green, so defenseless. Yet, you remembered one of your masters who was small, green, seemingly helpless. It turned out he was all but helpless when he took down the biggest foes in the galaxy single-handedly. 

“You came back,” You greeted them again after previously dismissing them. You had promised to hear the Mandalorian out, but not at the expense of your students’ education. And true to his word that he would be back, a few moments after the final of the straggles of your class had gone home for the day, he was at your classroom doorstep.

“I want to know more about the jedi, about your kind” He said, standing again in your doorway, “To help my foundling”

“I never said I was a jedi,” You replied sitting down at your desk. 

“You didn’t have to, I could see it on your face,” His hemet tilted down in the direction of his little companion, snuggled into a little sack, sitting right at his hip, “Ahsoka Tano felt it too when she first met him. She told me you would sense it too,”

You felt a tightness in your chest as you sat down in your chair, hearing that name for a second time today. If Ahsoka told him how to find you. 

You pulled out a stool for the Mandalorian, gesturing for him to sit down, “When the Empire came to power they didn’t just kill the jedi you know,” You told him, “You know, they also killed mandalorians too?”

“What does that have to do with anything?”

“I can tell that you have shared a table with them,” You sneered, “No man wears that much beskar without getting his hands dirty with the wrong crowd,”

“Never said my hands were clean,” He confessed.

“Neither are mine, but I did not become a sister for the empire,” You chuckled but there was no heart to your voice. 

“A sister?”

“An inquisitor,” You stated, “Force wielders who recruited or killed other force wielders for the empire” You paused, trying to get a reaction from Mando but he speak, “I’m guessing you haven’t met any yet then,”

He nodded.

 “I wouldn’t recommend it  for your little one,” You glanced down at the sleeping bundle who was softly snoring, “It’s rumored they the opt for the latter option now to keep off the Republic’s radar,”

“That’s why I need you,” His hands rested on his knees, “He’s fallen into the Empire’s hands before and I won’t allow that to happen again,”

“And why should I trust you?” You asked. You had every reason in history to not.

He let out a signing grunt before digging through his sack. Moving his companion around before finally grabbing and laying a little package on the table. His hands slowly unwrapping the cloth that covered it. As soon as it was fully unwrapped you recognized what his answer was.

“Jetii kyramud,” You murmured under your breath looking at it.

“I haven’t heard that name for it before,”

“Do you know what this is?” You hissed at him, pushing it away from you.

His hemet nodded. 

“Why would you bring such a thing here?” Knowing the history behind the hilt, it was only a matter of time before more mandalorians, or worse, the Empire came knocking at your door for it. You had done a good job at staying hidden all these years just for some stranger to come and mess your life up. 

“I intend to do well by my foundling and his kind, even if my ancestors have not” He answered, “But I need someone to train him. The blade is nothing but an offer of peace,”

“I didn’t know peace was a word a Mandalorian knew,” You smirked. 

“It is if you can help me,” He replied.

“And what if I can’t train him? Or if he’s not as strong as you think?” You had seen those with the strongest ties to the force fall. Those seemingly invincible killed by their own sword. Those with the best hearts die at the hands of those they trusted. You had seen it in your master, the last look on her face as she accepted her fate. 

“He’s strong, he was strong enough to survive the Empire,” 

You looked down at the sleeping child and felt your stomach churn. It was in your DNA to help, to protect. That’s why even after the Empire took over, you looked for a school, somewhere where you could help others. You couldn’t continue to help and hide anymore, your fate being at a crossroads. 

“Tomorrow, after school. We’ll see what this little one can do,” You said, “No guarantees,”

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Y/N asks her younger brother, who's staring at her with the same pout he always given her from the time he was born. She knows that pout means she's done something he doesn't like. "Stop pouting." 

"Stop flirting with my friends," Hyunjin counters, his pout turning into a glare. 

"I'm not flirting with anyone," she frowns back at him. "I'm just being friendly," She defends herself, crossing her arms across her chest. "I thought it would be unfair if I only brought you food and not the others. You know we're all like family." 

He rolls his eyes, his glare intensifying. "That's not the point. You came to spend time with me, not them. Is it because you like them better? I'm just your annoying little brother." 

Her frown deepens, hurt by her brother's accusation. "Yes, you're my annoying little brother but that doesn't mean I like them better than you. I like them but I love you, babo." 

He looks at her offended that she called him babo but ultimately chooses to ignore it. 

"I didn't mean to make you feel left out or unimportant. I just wanted to show my appreciation for your friends too. I know how important they are to you. It doesn't mean I don't value our time together," she continues, reassuring him that he does come before his friends and will always come before them. 

Hyunjin's glare softens slightly, but he remains skeptical. "But you always seem to have more fun with them. Sometimes I feel like I'm just in the background." 

Her heart aches at his words. She pulls him in for a hug, which he surprisingly allows, "I'm sorry I made you feel that way. You're my brother, and spending time with you is always special to me. I'll make sure to prioritize our time together from now on." 

He looks at her, his expression still guarded but lifts up his pinky, "Promise?" 

She nods, her eyes filled with sincerity as she links her pinky with his, "I promise, Hyunnie." 

"Okay, I believe you,” he says, a small smile tugs at the corners of his lips, and he finally let's go of his pout. "You know you don't have to try so hard with my friends, right? They already like you. Especially Felix. I don't know why. I think it’s because he just genuinely likes everyone." 

She chuckles, relieved to see him starting to lighten up. "Well, that's good to know. Felix is such a sweetheart, it's hard not to like him.” 

“That’s true,” he agrees. 

“Did you want to come for dinner tonight, my partner is working so I’ll be home all by myself.”  

“Let’s make it a movie night,” he says taking her up on her invitation. 

“Only if you bring the snacks,” she smiles. “Now, go and enjoy the food before they eat it all. Tell them I’ll see them later.” 

“I will,” he says bringing her in for another hug before going back inside the practice room.

Summary: Attachment is something you can’t afford but always wanted.

Challenge: Written for @justagirlinafandomworld ‘s wonderful Flash Fiction Challenge: Love Songs. I was assigned ‘You're Still the One’ by Shania Twain. I really like the story I came up with, thank you for the prompt!!

Pairing: Din Djarin x Jedi!Reader

‘Attachment will get you killed.’

As a Jedi, love and compassion were within your rights. But that one word was always just out of reach.

You never directly looked into Din’s eyes. When the sharp visor pointed in your direction, everything changed. That one pivotal moment where everything the others had said faded away. You didn’t need to see the face beneath the ridged edges of beskar. You saw who he was. A father, a fighter. You saw love and attachment laced together in perfect harmony.

And it only made him stronger.

You would die for that.

Birthday celebration!

howdy howdy lets get rowdy!!

I'm writing this on the 20th, knowing that chances are I'll probably post this after that, because lol deadlines are dumb.
