Dessinée par l’architecte Jean Dubuisson entre 1966 et 1970, la villa Weil, dans le domaine de Frapotel, est un chef-d’œuvre méconnu. AD vous en ouvre les portes.

★★★★★★★★☆☆
“I remember reading that some people declared dead, clinically dead, come back to life transformed, with certain powers.”

Clock, pre-Revolution
Mantel Clock, ca. 1785. Clock case attributed to Pierre-Philippe Thomire, Design attributed to Jean-Guillaume Moitte, Clock dials enameled by Henri-François Dubuisson.
On a white marble base, two Vestal Virgins tend a flame that honors the goddess of the hearth, Vesta. A drawing still exists that shows the clock was designed to sit on a mantelpiece. The altar that houses the clock's movement is fitted with horizontal enameled and jeweled hour and minute rings, while a sacrificial procession underneath is shown in gilt bronze. A branch of roses draped over the edge of the altar points to the time.

Repurposed antibiotic may be an effective therapeutic in COVID-19–infected mice
Repurposed drugs may have a speedier path to clinical use because they have already been shown to be safe in people. A study publishing May 19 in the open access journal PLOS Pathogens by Sandrine Belouzard and Jean Dubuisson at Pasteur Institute, Lille, France, and colleagues suggests clofoctol may be an effective treatment for SARS-CoV-2 infections in mice.
