So what other Parkcour World Building have you thought of?

So much information/ resources just doesn’t make it to the bottom layer right? It all has to trickle down.

Sort of how canopy forests work where the plants that grow tallest get the most sunlight while everyone else has to fight for what little they can. Plants that are closest to the bottom have to cope, some climb, others adapt, most only do so to live not thrive.

It’s probably a huge shock to be properly treated at the pro level, making it to the masters level would grow some sort of resentment for your previous life.

Even having the skills to be parkour champion it must come as a big culture shock to make it all the way up to the top and to find out your whole life you’ve been deprived of many different basic things. You’ve never seen the rain, you probably don’t have a great education, all the clothes you’ve ever worn were hand me downs- whatever sunlight that has trickled down through the metaphorical canopy. What is it like to feel unfiltered sun on your face? Would it scorch you?

im making a post to say hello and introduce myself because i havent used tumblr in forever and never did this in the first place!

i’m into a lot of different things, but my main current interests (in no particular order) are pokemon, persona 5 (and just persona in general), cotl, hoyoverse games and wuthering waves, while im slowly getting back into both gravity falls and atla.

I believe people should read the tags and exercise a healthy amount of caution when interacting w fics and other fan works. I believe that people shouldn’t go out of their way to be actively malicious in their criticisms on the fics or works they interact with.

That being said: discussions and criticism is inevitable. Fan creators and fandom spaces are amazing, but things like fan works aren’t absolved from discussions about controversial or even problematic aspects of the space/ works.

Criticism is inevitable and nothing is off limits, not really.

I’m deeply of the belief that you should be able to criticize things, even and especially if you enjoy them. I believe criticism should be encouraged, it’s an effort of love and care because if you’re criticizing something, it’s typically because you want it to be better, want it to grow. Things like constructive criticism and critique are necessary for spaces to grow and evolve past their worst parts. Acting like criticism is this evil, horrid thing that should only ever happen in private doesn’t allow for that.

(That being said, leaving weird and insulting comments on fics and works for the hell of it,, that definitely isn’t the way to go about it. There’s a difference between being a twit and being healthy in the criticism of the things you’re consuming. Directly criticizing someone’s work at them versus criticizing a trope or whatever that might’ve been used are two different things, taking a creator’s wishes into consideration is a kindness I feel should be extended to most. Going nuts in someone’s comments when they expicitly don’t want criticism? That’s weird. Keeping things like whether the creator wants constructive criticism, whether they take it to heart, whether what you’re saying is genuinely constructive or if it’s malicious is another thing to keep in mind too.)

But yeah, no one’s infallible and nothing is immune to criticism. Exercising caution and care with the things you ineratc with/consume, good step. Doing your best to keep away from things that upset or impact you? Good step. That doesn’t mean things won’t be talked about or criticized, publicly or otherwise.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Pride Month lately and what that means for me as a Queer Christian, and every other June before this one I haven’t felt comfortable enough in my queerness+faith to really be that open about it or celebrate much or just take joy in the fact that I am both of these things which to a lot of the world seem so incredibly contradictory. I’ve got through a hell of a lot in the past couple of years and I like to think that’s made me a better person lol. It certainly has made me a lot more comfortable with my queerness and I’ve gotten to a place where, at least online, and with friends, I can be open about who I am, and I can Enjoy being who I am.

Being Queer doesn’t make me any less of a Christian, and being a Christian doesn’t make me any less Queer.

So I guess I just wanted to say Happy Pride Month everyone! And an especially happy Pride Month to all those people out there who helped me figure all this out, I really appreciate having such a wonderful, sweet, supportive group of friends.
