So what other Parkcour World Building have you thought of?

So much information/ resources just doesn’t make it to the bottom layer right? It all has to trickle down.

Sort of how canopy forests work where the plants that grow tallest get the most sunlight while everyone else has to fight for what little they can. Plants that are closest to the bottom have to cope, some climb, others adapt, most only do so to live not thrive.

It’s probably a huge shock to be properly treated at the pro level, making it to the masters level would grow some sort of resentment for your previous life.

Even having the skills to be parkour champion it must come as a big culture shock to make it all the way up to the top and to find out your whole life you’ve been deprived of many different basic things. You’ve never seen the rain, you probably don’t have a great education, all the clothes you’ve ever worn were hand me downs- whatever sunlight that has trickled down through the metaphorical canopy. What is it like to feel unfiltered sun on your face? Would it scorch you?

What's cooking

“Jayy?”

Jay glanced up over his laptop, suspicious about this significant change in the tone of voice. Usually Zayne demanded attention instead of playfully asking for it.

Zayne slid onto the chair opposite him, joining him at the kitchen table, with an actual genuine smile. “You’re a good cook, right?”

Maybe if he was a lousy cook, his leftovers would actually be left alone instead of stolen from the fridge. So he took the compliment.

“For a single guy taking care of himself, sure…” His parents had instilled the basics in his teens, but during his college time, the scrutiny of his fellow students forced him to learn real quick. Nothing like the judgmental stares of your flatmates as you try to cook up a pound of solid frozen mincemeat. Or when they had group nights where they had to cook for each other, all trying to outdo one another. Unlike Dennis who’d lived with an elderly landlady, hosting students from abroad with full board, and the consequences of that lush lifestyle kinda rumbled on during his adult life, as Jay unfortunately had tasted.

Zayne slid a piece of paper over the table. It looked like it had been ripped out of a magazine. “Can you make this?” he asked, voice as sweet as honey.

Jay scanned the paper, a recipe. He sighed at the request, but found himself more surprised that it even was a request, not an order. But, if he knew Zayne well – and by now he would say he did – he knew that a single refusal could very well turn it into an order. With some threats. “I guess. You have a craving?”

“Yah,” Zayne smiled. “In return, I won’t hurt you for a week.”

Jay’s eyebrows raised a little in pleasant surprise. That’s some craving. But he didn’t argue, even though he’d probably make this dish sometime for free as well. The recipe didn’t look that hard and was something he’d make for himself during the week anyway. But no way was he going to say no to a full week to heal up.

“Okay.”

“Tomorrow?” Zayne took the paper back and waved it between two fingers. “I’ll get you the ingredients while you’re at work.”

His eyebrows shot further up at that comment. “Okay?”

And sure enough, when he returned home the following evening, all the right ingredients were laid out for him on the kitchen counter.

“That full week, that starts now, right? No hidden conditions like, it has to be cooked just the way you like it?”

“No, I keep my word.” Zayne sat at the kitchen table, watching as Jay did the work. “Unless you fuck it up on purpose.”

Wasn’t gonna… If he’d actually been threatened into doing so, maybe, probably, but he wasn’t going to risk his free week.

They actually had a nice meal together, even exchanged some banter that wasn’t loaded with underlying threats or sarcasm, and Zayne obviously liked it as he asked – asked! – for seconds. Like, Jay knew the man had his mood swings, but this actually swung way to the other side, pretty much tearing the pendulum.

“Room for dessert?” Zayne asked as he stood up.

Jay instantly shot to alert. The remnant of the last time Zayne had offered desserts was still etched into the table where he’d plowed a knife almost right through Jay’s hand. “What?! I thought you—”

“Relax,” Zayne said in passing with a light exasperated tone, and when he returned, he merely set a little cup of Ben & Jerry’s in front of Jay.

Jay narrowed his eyes at it, as if he expected it to explode in his face instead of being filled with creamy sweetness. “Aren’t you full of surprises today.”

Zayne gave a little smile but didn’t comment, looking down on his ice cream. “It’s my birthday. Today,” he said after a beat in the softest voice, licking his lips.

“I—“ Jay looked up, but Zayne didn’t meet his eye. “Oh.” The reply to that should be obvious but he was still kinda at a loss for words.

He had been dreading Zayne’s birthday, sure it would come with an excessive celebration where Zayne would bring out all his favourite toys and celebrate by bestowing Jay with as much pain as he could. But this, this took him aback.

And completely unexpected, a deep wave of pity crashed over his heart. Even Zayne, practiced sadist that he was, would just want the one day a year to have a nice evening to treat himself. Even though Jay tried not to think on it too much, he knew Zayne didn’t have an easy life working with Emery. And even after everything that happened, the thought of this hardened criminal just wanting to celebrate his birthday with his favourite meal and some ice cream…

He swallowed his distrust and surprise with a spoonful of Cookie Dough.

“Happy birthday.”

Zayne lit up a little. “Thanks, man.”

Grief: Kai and Jay

I chose to focus on those two because of one sole reason: the IMMENSE contrast between the ways Jay and Kai handle grief. Complete opposites.

before i Start i wanna say I don’t have anything against jay, I love him too guys

Jay, time and time again, shows self centeredness in times of grief (again, not saying it’s his fault that’s just how he copes) He leads himself to believe that only he ever loved this person, and that no on else feels the same way. jay is also very expressive- he cries, he mourns, he is verbal throughout his grief. for example, he talks to water in order to feel some grasp of nya close to him- it shows how expressive he his with his longing for her. furthermore, two more examples:

the widely known one: Kai and Jays fight. JAY is the one who suggested they shouldn’t be a team anymore, he is the one who started the fight, and he’s the one who said no one loved/missed nya BUT him.

now, one might say

“But Kai was inconsiderate! He knocked down Jay’s water glass!”

lemme tell you buddy. jay shouldn’t be talking to water glasses in the FIRST place. secondly, this was kai’s way of showing concern, and allow me to remind you that kai still bothered to show concern for jay, when even before the fight jay was saying things like “only I miss nya” “I love her” “we are nothing without her”

secondly, did u guys notice the immense regret and sadness when kai knocked his glass over?

LOOK AT KAI’S EXPRESSION. he is DEVASTATED. he didn’t MEAN to. and on top of that, he is closing his eyes. if you’re a total kai observer, like I am, you’ve noticed that he looks away or dissociates if situations are too emotionally overbearing for him (nyas death, both times, when chen tells him about the fact that his parents might be evil and left them on purpose, etc etc). kai even said sorry, in a heartbreaking tone. he UNDOUBTEDLY would have apologized more profusely if jay didn’t attack immediately.

the other example is Season four, episode two. The ninja were in chens place discussing Zane’s death. jay says “I moved on. I feel guilt. These are not good feelings!” again, kai feels like he is being indirectly attacked, due to jay subtly suggesting that only he feels guilt. kai then says, “You think you feel bad? Imagine how I feel!”

and you might think oh but Kai is being self centered now. no. He’s not. Because remember what Lloyd told him before? Lloyd said Kai was selfish, for wanting to die instead of Zane. Kai felt suppressed and used jays words as a chance in desperation to vocalize some of his pain because he had no other chance to. And every time kai stated ANYTHING related to Grief, it’s automatically considered selfish whereas when jay does it it’s totally fine. kai’s feelings are ALWAYS being dismissed.

Kai handles grief destructively. He drinks, blames himself, mentally tortures himself. He literally has never cried in front of the others and silences his grief because he is criticized for it, especially by jay. It’s not that he isn’t vocal, it’s the fact that he CANT be. He’s SCARED to be.

both were in immense pain, but, and I literally don’t even know how many times I’ve said this, but the show needs to properly address this problem. kai being portrayed as selfish during grief is UNFAIR, and does not make sense AT ALL, when everything he says or does contrasts ‘selfishness’.

Your plans for the evening had lasted longer than you anticipated. You were initially excited to spend a night with your friends, but as the hours passed, you found yourself getting annoyed with their presence. It’s a feeling you’ve been getting pretty often recently; whether it’s your classmates, friends, or family, you’ve been wanting to spend more time with yourself. There are so many joys to discover when you’re alone, and having absolute control on whatever you’re doing is exciting! 

You suppose this outing was enjoyable while it lasted, but now you wanted to head home. An additional thirty minutes was spent easing your way out of their conversation, and with a promise to at least text more often, you were on your way home. 

Having been out of the apartment all day, you were looking forward to comfort food and soft clothes for the rest of the night. While approaching your building, you were surprised to see that a few of the windows and the balcony door were open. A flicker of panic crossed your mind as you tried to recall the morning. You could have sworn you didn’t open any windows recently, but you had opened the balcony door to take pictures of the sunrise… 

You kept your eyes on your apartment complex as you neared the tall building. When you reached the corner of the block, you somehow caught a figure quickly shutting the balcony door. It happened in a second, and you would have probably missed it if you looked away in that moment.

But you knew that figure anywhere. If you couldn’t tell who it was by the blinding neon green pants he was wearing, a loud yell coming from the closest open window told you who it was. 

“Ah…. Jayy-ahhhHHH!” Sunghoon called out from somewhere inside your apartment. 

Judging from where the windows were open, they must have been in your kitchen. With that realization, you hurriedly swiped into the building and sped towards the stairs, hoping the boys didn’t break or burn anything. 

While approaching your front door, you briefly wondered why you had the bright idea of giving Sunghoon the spare keys to your apartment in the first place. I mean, if you were ever locked out, he could come over then, but that scenario has yet to happen and it seems like Sunghoon just comes over when he doesn’t want to wash the dishes back at their dorm. 

You unlocked your front door, opening it slowly, knowing all too well that Jake likes to scare you as often as possible. Peeking in, you were pleasantly surprised when nothing jumped out at you. You fully entered the doorway, taking into account the three pairs of sneakers crowding the entryway. After taking off your own shoes, you wandered further into the apartment, listening for a trace of their voices to tell you where they were. At that moment, a muted clang came from the kitchen, followed by Jay’s baritone voice spitting rapid fire (..had he been practicing rap lately?) It sounded like he was scolding someone, so that probably meant Jake was there with him. 

“...and just be more careful!” you heard him finish as you stepped into the kitchen. Jay was stirring something on the stove, also dressed in neon sweatpants and a black shirt. Jake was leaning against the counter beside him; he was wearing a matching black shirt with orange practice shorts. The smell of ramen wafted towards you before you had the chance to question what they were cooking at this time of night. Jake notices you first. 

“You’re back! Welcome home,” Jake greets, waving at you from his position. He doesn’t make any other effort to acknowledge you otherwise, seemingly set on monitoring Jay as he cooks. Jake sighs loudly, “Jay the noodles are going to overcook if you wait! You should add the egg now一” he insists as he nudges Jay to the side, already reaching for an egg on the counter. 

“Jake一 wait hold up一 boY STOP,” Jay says as he forces Jake away from the stove, “this ramen is for all of us so we should just make it plain一”

“But my egg!” 

“Curse the egg. Eggs aren’t even that good.... and I don’t know what about them man, but eggs just give me a weird feeling,” Jay utters as he eyes the eggs accusingly. 

“Jay, I think that just means you’re allergic,” you chime in, taking a seat at the dining table. Jay narrows his eyes at you as Jake chokes out a laugh. “...and I don’t really want my eggs in my ramen today, sorry Jake.”

Jake pouts at you as Jay lets out a pleased woop. You laugh at both of them as Sunghoon comes in and joins you at the table. 

“Welcome home!” he smiles. Sunghoon was hiding his hands in the sleeves of the large black sweater he was wearing, and he changed into the same orange shorts as Jake. 

Eyeing his outfit, you questioned him, “Hey Sunghoon, do you guys have matching clothes or something? That’s pretty cute of the three of you to do that.” 

“Oh this? Nah we just so happen to own the same clothes. We would never match like this normally, but we all ran out of clothes so we came here to do laundry,” he says with complete nonchalance. A beat of silence passes.

You shut your eyes for a moment, gathering all of the self control in your soul and mind, before glaring at Sunghoon. 

You smack his arms. “Why一 did一 you一 come一here一 to do your GOD一 DAMN一 LAUNDRY. DO IT AT YOUR OWN PLACE!” 

“But一 Daniel一 justbroke一 it一 PLEASE STOP HITTING ME,” Sunghoon yelps. Jake giggles at his misfortune. 

“Hey! You did laundry here too, Jake. Don’t think I’ll go easy on you either,” you threaten. Jake’s smile turns to a frown as you glare at him instead. He slowly raises his hands, signaling his surrender. 

Jay takes this time to finally bring over the pot of ramen, setting it down on a coaster in the center of the table. “Okay everyone, no fighting until after we eat. I’m starving.”

Jake takes the initiative to set the table with bowls and utensils, and Sunghoon stands to get the four of you something to drink. You sit in slight surprise as the three of them move to set up the table. 

“Oh wow, thanks guys,” You say quietly as the three boys sit around the dining table. 

“No problem,” Jay replies, his chopsticks ready to enter his mouth. 

Sunghoon serves you a bowl before asking, “So, how was your day Y/N?” He was focused on mixing his ramen, but he makes eye contact to let you know he’s listening. 

“Oh! Uhm, it was alright. I met with some friends for an early dinner, but it went for pretty long. If I had known you were all here, I would have definitely come home earlier,” you tell him, swirling the ramen noodles around your bowl. 

“Hm? Did you not have fun?” Jake asks. 

“I mean, well, yeah I did have fun. I just really wanted to relax at home tonight is all,” you say sheepishly. “Wait! But that doesn’t mean I want you guys to leave.” 

Jay smirks at your response. Sunghoon chuckles, resting his elbows on the table, “Actually… we kind of figured you’d feel that way. We came over to surprise you and just relax tonight.” 

Jake nods, “Yeah! We cooked ramen to start, but we can make something else if you want. And you can even wear the clothes we washed, it’s like a win-win!.” 

Woah. You stared at them in disbelief. How did you meet such caring friends? 

“I… I just一 I mean, thank you so much,” you say, gratitude and happiness evident in your voice. “Seriously, you can’t believe what great timing you have. I can’t believe it.” 

Jake smiles, “That’s what we’re here for! You’re always here for us, the least we can do is help you smile this time. Let’s just chill for the rest of the night.” 

And that’s exactly what you’re doing hours later, squished between Jay and Sunghoon on the couch, wearing Jake’s hoodie and Sunghoon’s neon sweatpants.

You're the one thing Shizuku never forgets anything about.

Seeing you come out of your shell once you got closer to Shizuku interested her, and after a while she fell for you. She found you very fun to hang around but still liked the fact that you were shy and quiet, it was cute to her.

Machi and Pakunoda find your two really adorable, and your dynamics fitting well to each other. Shizuku's cutsey blunt attitude and your shyness mixed with an extroverted attitude makes the other woman fangirl over you. Shalnark sometimes joins in as well, and Paku, Machi and Shal gossip about how cute your relationship is.

Shizuku enjoys doing random things with you, whether it be playing a card game or visiting another city. She also enjoys sitting at home with you while watching movies and eating snacks. Cuddling with you is one of her top priorities when home alone, so aside from the bathroom she's always in a 3 feet or closer radius of you.

Whenever she's bored she'll be a little tease and either make some huge puppy dog eyes or pull you into a marshmallow heaven hug. Sometimes she even coos your name lightly just to get a reaction out of you. "Jayy~ give me cuddles please" You can't say no to her, I won't allow it.

Both of you are happy that you guys care about each other, enough to trust that the other won't cheat with anybody. Shizuku loves calling you pet names, like "baby" "cuddle bug" "boo bear" and other lovey dovey names.

The rest of the troupe is pretty cool with you, and Nogunaga + Uvogin kind of act like dads. If Hisoka tries to get near you, the Jay protection squad moves out and surrounds you. Or beats Hisoka up, one of the two.

i’ll do my best to describe my ocs!! :D

Amary Braddock – she has brown skin and curly, black natural hair. just at 5′. she’s a bit stocky. scars are all over her body. dark brown eyes. a smirk that speaks of mischevious things, a smile that’s heartfelt. a little bit of pudge. constantly with a bottle of whiskey in her hands. calloused hands, 

Eira Braddock – the same skin and hair as Amary, but she clocks in at about 5′ 4′. her eyes aren’t quite as dark as Amary’s. she has a delicate demeanor about her, a nervous air. her smile is tremulous. she’s soft, though. her bones don’t stick out like Rosar’s.

Rosar Braddock – as the third sister, she has similar hair and skin to Eira and Amary, but she has vitiligo that forms through the story and makes pale patches on her skin. her eyes are dark brown, but her pupils are silver from cataracts. she’s about 5′ 11″ and skinny- a little too skinny. little scars and callouses on her hands. her hair is usually braided back.

Finlos Holmwood – a broad-shouldered guy who has hazel eyes and brown hair. he has a few missing teeth but you don’t need to worry about that. a clean-cut looking guy, especially when he’s in his knights armor, which is a pale gold with bronze detailing and green underclothes. looks stern but is actually kind. 

Lumi Rosewood – bright red hair and bright green eyes. she’s around 5′ 7″ and a Mess. she wears dresses like Belle (before she goes to the palace with Beast) and she has an apron that’s covered with paint. pale skin. a set of four scars that look like claw marks down her back. 

Leaf – a cat! a house cat the size of a lynx!! bright green eyes and she looks like my cat (see below)

The Keeper – dark red shaggy hair, eyes that might have once been green but are now shadowed. he’s a scraggly looking kid, and shadows just cling onto him. pale skin. he looks a bit like a ghost.

Cintu – a big, black wolf with glowing yellow eyes. he has a large frame, broad and tall, but he’s so malnurished that he weighs half as much as he should. he has a lot of sharp teeth, his fur is uneven and coarse, magic and shadows drip from him.

Barrow Reeves – one brown eye, one blue eye. neatly groomed dirty blond/brown hair. he wears three piece suits and dress shoes when he isn’t working. he doesn’t have a six pack, not nearly. he has soft eyes, smiles, and facial expressions. he’s about 6′ tall. 

Marigold Reeves – bright blue eyes and blonde hair that’s always curled. she’s at  5′ 2″ and has all soft edges. she’s not skinny, not at all. you could actually call her fat. but she doesn’t care. she smiles kindly and wears pink frilly things. white lace gloves and petite little heels. fairly pale skin.

Athum – at 6′ 1″ he stands. he doesn’t have a frame that speaks of strenght, but he’s made himself strong. an angular face, haunted eyes, and dark circles under his eyes. he has a kind smile and gentle mannerisms. 

Jayah – she’s about 6′ herself, and she’s got a sharp appearance. sharp cheekbones, thin lips, and dark eyes that promise nothing but death. her fingers are slender and cold, her nails long and sharp. always adorned in fancy materials and jewels. 

Erihhn – an older man with a frame that speaks of strength. at 5′ 6″ he doesn’t seem very intimidating. the wrinkles on his face speak of things he’s seen– or maybe it just shows how much he’s worked. he creeps me out. 

Jeris – a guy with broad shoulders with short salt and pepper hair, a scar that obscures the left side of his face, and brown eyes that shine with warmth. Dad-shaped with calloused hands. he’s about 5′ 8″ and is bow-legged. skin burned dark from the sun.

Warin – a strong but slender man with long black hair with streaks of gray, crow’s feet, and smile lines. Slender with gentle hands and kind black eyes. he wears the loose clothing of Isserans and sits cross-legged a lot. he’s about 6′ 5″. he wears glasses!!

Culraes – a stocky young guy that isn’t as broad as he might be. 5′ 10″. missing his left arm from the elbow down. always scowling. he wears jewelry. and here is a pic that @woodhouse-jay drew of him!!

Lei-ya – a not so skinny woman who always has a crease between her brows. brown eyes, dark hair, and ink covers her hands always. around 5′ 7″. her hair is always just barely contained.

The split screen is more and more on her until she finally faints and it goes to a transition to the alternative reality.

The girl and Cole with orange plastic bags on their heads walk into frame of an open field from opposite sides to join together and hands. And do more shots where their different areas for a glitchy dreamy affect.

FILMER realists the camera is still in the house so when everyone leaves the shot of the fisheye 'security camera' a few seconds of silence and you hear the front door open and close and FILMER runs back in to get the camera. Still doesn't realize its filming. When open Emmas room door it switches to the VHS cameras POV.

INT. EMMAS HOUSE/ EMMAS ROOM - DARK - VHS

VHS on the floor and the FILMER grabs it doesn't realize its still filming and runs thru the house and goes into the car. The cars in the drive way and everyones already in the car handing out the window like hey lets goooooo. Sitting on the window.

Use Levis car, with the LED panel on red in the front seat. Make the entire cabin light up red. Full car like 3-4 people

Shot of the car leaving very fast backing out of the driveway and skidding out of the area. Shot on the VHS static shot. Still have the audio from the VHS camera playing for a little until they are like "hey the cameras still on dude" "hear blast the music" and the audio matches up and thats the transition.

From a car in front of Levis car with the LED red still on shoot from the backseat and get the car driving under an overpass and have other cars around everyone in the car is having a good time.

Get to go inside Levis car in the passenger seat and shoot on the freeway just b roll of everyone vibin in the car. Slow motion.

I'm like "for what?...😕" he said "I forgot my lens and I need that for Childish Season" I'm like "brah, didn't we ask everybody did they have EVERYTHING before we left?😩" Apaulow like "let that man go back, just turn on the turbo so you'll get there and back" then hands Jayy a gun..😐..Jayys like "What's this for?😐" "idk them Saturn bitches be tripping" So Jayy and this other guy heads back on the ship & me Dylan and some more people went ahead downtown. 🤦🏾‍♂️Tell me Y Jayy calls: "Yo bro, so you said hit the turbo button right?" Apaulowme says yes. Jay: "I don't think we have a turbo button this shi says release" Apaulow: "O damn, we damn sho don't have 1" so I ask "Where you at now" and in the middle of that fuckin question🤦🏾‍♂️... I look up n the damn ship is in Gas Mode. Now gas mode is something we use for protection. So like if a octopus gets scared he releases ink, well shi we release gas... which is basically Farting.
