So there’s been something in the works, @malevolentbigbang has happened, the results are in!

I got to work with the lovely @jay-jay-bird, our writer with a truly wicked skill for tactile imagery and sneaky foreshadowing, and @butzenscheibe, another damn good artists (the color control, seriously!)

Here are my humble additions, to this beautiful fic

steller’s jays are all beautiful birds, but they have small variations across subspecies. and while i appreciate all the subspecies this

does not have the same impact without the Eyebrows

They can be overwhelming at times but I totally adore baby Blue Jays. They have begun to emerge in the yard, and they are almost old enough to fend for themselves. But they are still begging for food every so often and play-fight with their siblings.

I know Jason was dead-set on revenge and sticking it to Batman in UTRH but now I’m making myself sad thinking about a Jason who finally sees Bruce as Batman again after so many years, and he sees Nightwing and another Robin but he can’t hear them. For the first time ever, he’s not on their comm frequency. He’s locked out of Bruce’s quiet field orders and status checks. He can see Bruce but he can’t hear him. All he gets is the mask.

There's one thing about Jason Todd that just gets to me. It's poetic, it's ironic, it's painful, it's mildly infuriating, and it's kind of hilarious. To me at least.

So. You know Jays? Like, the type of bird? These fancy fuckers?

Let me tell you a funky thing about jays.

Their scientific classification, do you know what family they're in?

Fucking Corvidae. JAYS ARE CORVIDS. Y'know, like ravens and crows and magpies. The kinds of birds frequently associated with intelligence, wisdom, and DEATH. The kinds of birds known for STEALING SHIT and HOLDING GRUDGES.

And the fact that NONE OF THIS WAS INTENDED IN JASON'S CHARACTER? I can't handle it. And my body can never decide if it wants to scream or laugh or cry when I think about it so I'm just sitting here vibrating over it.
