Serat Jaya Lengkara Wulang (BL MSS Jav 34), f. 129v
“Written in the court of the Sultan [Hamengkubuwana II] of Yogyakarta (Kanjeng Sultan ing Ngayogya) on 22 Rejeb A.J.1730 (7 Nov. 1803).”
“The lion and the crocodile…may suggest the names of the kings of Pringgabaya and Singasari, as ‘baya’ points to a crocodile and ‘singa’ a lion.”

Monster girl October tarot day 29: Dewi Sekartaji from Keong Emas (The Golden Snail) as the 7 of Pentacles!
The Indonesian story tells of a princess who is transformed into a golden snail in order to flee the advances of an evil man attempting to kidnap her. An old woman finds the snail while fishing and decides to take it home and keep it in a jar. Each day the woman returns home to find the place spotless and delicious meals waiting for her. Soon by spying on her house after she's left, the old woman discovers that her snail transforms into a princess who cares for her house while she's gone. The old woman then shatters the shell, freeing the princess from the spell, and adopts her as a daughter. Afterwards when reunited with her husband, Dewi brings the old woman back to their palace with her. The seven of Pentacles represents pay off for your hard work. Having patience and working hard will be rewarded when what you're working for comes to fruition!
