The Zootles present: A Midsummer Night's Dream!

They do and it's even sillier in more ways than one (George's "doggie woggie" being Paul's pet beetle tied on a comically large leash, John's ears being used as extensions for his wig, and Ringo just wearing a shirt)

(Additional context: In Beastars canon, insects and arachnids are kept as household pets! Hence the use of actual beetles in The Zootles' shenanigans instead of, y'know, People.)

Paul and George's relationship was more of a brotherly/sibling one. Paul couldn't help but dote over George and George wouldn't admit it out loud but he didn't mind being doted over (sometimes). The only downside is that Paul slobbers alot when he gets over-excited

Paul and Ringo are both social animals that are full of energy and the other two sometimes couldn't keep up with them. Whenever there's a party after show or an event at midnight and George and John were all tuckered out, both of them would spend the night burning off the rest of their energy either going out or just chasing each other's tails in their shared room

John and George's relationship was strictly that of hero worship Pre-India. George adored John, looked up to him, wanted to be the strong Herbivore he is. They only grew closer after India when John, scared and weak, needed someone to feel safe with and as the only other Herbivore, George didn't hesitate to lend a hand

As for Paul; He's a Hybrid! He's a mix of Blackface Sheep and Old English Sheepdog! Hence the horns that he'd constantly shave down pre-India :) The "mongrel" title is mostly referring to his status as a "mix", since mongrels are dogs of unidentified breeds

But what are those red markings on Ringo's arm?

There was a post I think i made that implied it but here's something more in depth! :)

This is the one part of the AU that really relies on Beastars canon instead of like, actual Beatles lore. I wanted to implement some of The Zootles' pre-band lore cause I'm trying to stick to the actual Beatles lore! So I thought, to implement Ringo's childhood of being sick, in poverty, and in a gang, might as well connect it to the Black Market arc from Beastars!

In Beastars, it was revealed that in The Black Market, there was a subsection of Herbivores that were selling Carnivore body parts as like alternative medicine. Carnivores would sell certain parts as a way to get money. They'd have cutting lines tattoo'd on the places where that were going to be amputated

Zootles Ringo, like actual Ringo, was poor and was raised by a single mother. He's sick most of the time, never finished school, joined a gang in the Black Market, and went around Butlins with Rory Stork with little to no pay. Funnily enough, The first Black Market in Liverpool was in Dingle. Ringo wanted to support his mother financially so he tried to "sell" his shoulders. They already had him tattoo'd but The Hurricanes found him and took him home before anything else could be done

It's really a stretch but I really liked this part of Beastars canon so I wanted to add it here :)

Yes! Yellow Submarine does exist in this universe!

The Blue Meanie and Jeremy wouldn't change much as they weren't humanoid in the first place! Jeremy would wear a pair of cat ears in the scene where the others meet him (no reason I just thought it's silly hehe). Old Fred would be a Red Goat :)

Since there's not much change, I hope you like this baby Zootles redraw of the scene instead (I could like, draw them separately in my own artstyle but redrawing them in the YS style to fit the scene is so much funnier, they all look so ugly especially George💔)

I'm actually so happy more people are finding out about water deers!! They're actually so Creature and so George, all these guys do are bite and bark and they look so dumb ❤️

Have a fun fact about them; They're mostly native to East Asia (South Korea and China, hence the name Chinese Water Deer) and westerners call them Vampire Deers! Although their Conservation Status is Vulnerable in the UK, they're actually thriving quite well in South Korea! (Which is also why George is the Only Water Deer you'll see in this AU hehe)
