You know, I did something some time ago with Tom & Jerry with Cinder, Jaune, Adrian, and Ruby, with Cinder as Tom and Ruby as Jerry.

I'll switch things up a bit with this one.

Ravenpaw is a black and white tom with sun-bleaching fur and dull blue eyes. In secret, he wears a human-made beanie.

the sun-bleaching fur is meant to resemble his "dyed hair", just with the colours switched around (brown -> black = black -> brown)

originally he was a plain black cat but since white spots can be inherited, i thought it'd be cute to extend the "ross looks like jaune" :]

You know what, I fully accept that - I can totally see Bass Yang. In this fic, Weiss and Ruby simply aren’t actually band members (they’re still mega important tho), otherwise I’d have Weiss as front woman cause I mean, canonically excellent singer and she’s got the biggest sassy lead singer vibes imo

Blake absolutely would be an excellent backup singer, and I can totally imagine her as a crazy technical lead guitarist. Like the kind of shit where people who don’t play guitar would go “that’s sick” and people who DO would go “oh you’re just gonna pull that off so casually like that ok cool what the fuck.”

I feel like I could potentially accept Drummer Ruby, but she’s got a specific level of chaos that just gives me Metalhead Lead Guitarist vibes.

Ren and Nora give me hardcore Bassist + Drummer combo vibes, but I would also accept Pianist Ren. Perhaps rhythm guitar.

Jayne and Pyrrha were fucking tricky to place, I won’t lie. I’ve seen many takes, and the conclusion I’ve come to is: Jaune gives me Music-Adverse energy. Homie cannot play an instrument to save his life. For the sake of my fic, I’ve put him on guitar, because he gives White Boy Learns Guitar to Impress Girls energy (and, yk, the Weiss Serenade).

Pyrrha was also tough, but I think that’s more cause of the genre for the AU than anything. I’ve come to the conclusion Pyrrha gives me big singer/pianist combo vibes, but I’ve also seen her placed as a guitarist and a bassist, neither of which seem quite right to me. If we’re exiting the Rock universe, she gives me flautist (Flute) vibes, maybe a Violinist.

I'm sure this has probably been talked about. But I feel like the naming rule means that some of the cast has the most popular names in the world of remnant. The naming your child after colors rule means that some names have to of become super common. Like Jaune could be the equivalent of John. Blake is already pretty popular irl as well as Yang. Ruby, Nora, Sun, Scarlet, Russel, Sky, Reese, Gwen, Roy all of these are names that are popular in real life and are known names in the show. I can imagine that all of those names are extremely popular. I cannot imagine how popular Winter is as a name, pre and post war. The name 'James' is probably unpopular in remnant.

The heroes of the world are pretty much like how so many actors are named 'Chris' there should be more characters just named after our heroes. There should be so many Rubys that are just out there existing. and probably some with the last name Rose. We know that there are several family's who last name is flower inspired.

"I'm going to name my child after the brave young hero who saved my life!" and its the equivalent of naming a child: John, Kevin, Chris, Tom, Mary, Katelyn, Susan Sophie. Not bad names by any means just that they happen to be popular names. The fact, at least to my knowledge, that the name Lily hasn't been used is surprising. Remnant and gender is a bit more lax I think, so how many names are used among every gender. Blake obviously. But Winter, Sun, Sky might be like Alex, Jessie or Skylar.

I'm sure there even more names that I don't realize are popular that could make the cut. I just find it funny to think about how Weiss and Pyrrha probably are names that are popular in remnant while when i looked them up the first things that showed up were the rwby wikis pages for the character. While in contrast James, Glynda and maybe even Oscar are uncommon or even a rarity.
