Something, something, IG sunset. . . . Just couldn’t help myself. It truly was a stunning sunset, but I stared at the shot and said to my underling, “Enhance...” several times in a monotone. 🤣 . . Sorry, maybe that was only funny for me. 😋 . . Taken earlier this year. Edits done in Lightroom, no Photoshop gimmicks. I ran out of my place with my camera when I saw what was happening so I could grab a shot before it disappeared. Sometimes, you just need a change. . . . . . . Posterized...the manual way. (No filters or compositing.) . I get bored with my work sometimes. And I crave different expressions when that happens. . This is a B&W film shot. The scan has been modified in Snapseed and posterized/solarized with some curve tool changes, among other things. I'm actually quite pleased with it. I like the details, many of which weren't obvious in the proper scan. . In part, this was inspired by the artwork of Bill Watterson, and his weekend Calvin & Hobbes strips. His sweeping, Badlands-inspired, alien landscapes are inspirational, and I cannot express my admiration enough. You can’t really compare computer graphics to hand-drawn art, but hey, inspiration comes in many forms! Besides, the framework for this is a real photo with real grain. 😃 . – alien roots? . I inverted my film negative as normal, but then promptly realized it looked far more intriguing as a negative! Sort of an otherworldly alien-looking clump. 🛸😏 . Why they call these Money Trees is something I’ve never troubled to research. But, it did make for a cool window exposure with the sun behind it! I actually obliterated the window view in Lightroom, as you could still see distracting details.

And, yes, this is B&W film: shot, developed, and scanned yesterday! I used my attractively named MA-15154 formula - a metol/ascorbic experiment - with Kentmere 100 35mm and a SMC Takumar 50mm macro. What a sweet lens! I love the shadow detail from metol developers. ☺️
