I can feel their hearts breaking.
Danny never finds out about what they're thinking. And is just happy that heroes are being nice and helpful.
Which hurts them even more because look at him.
Look at his bright eyes lighting up at superman and how joyful and young he looks when asking questions about krypton and its culture and speaking about the beauty of space itself.
Look at him speaking broken kryptonian on his own without superman telling him, and it doesn't matter that he had to learn it from the book they gave to the public.
Cause Clark is this 🤏 close to crying because he never thought he would get to speak kryptonian with someone without teaching them how to speak it first.
Look at him talking to Killer Croc as if he's an old friend and treating him and other monstrous looking metas like they're human.
Look at him shielding his friends and strangers during a hostage situation. Talking to the villains and managing to give the heroes enough time to help them even after he gets hurt.😭

This gave me the best angst idea ever.
So what if people who died painfully and became ghosts would carry with them a palm sized emblem that showed how they died and give the same feelings of whatever caused them death for however long it took in a blink of an eye with its trauma when it's touched.
And the only reason they have that is to tell older ghosts and only the living touched by death that this is a TRAUMATISED newborn/ baby.
Practically, it's telling the surrounding ghost to play nicely and to let the baby win. Because see how they died? Oh you don't think that was painful? Will how about you come and touch it then? Go on, see how that is not painful at all.
Aka don't be a dick to the baby ghost
And older ghosts aren't allowed to tell them why they have it not because of an oath but to make sure that the baby gets better at ghost communicating, ghost emotional bonds, and stronger abilities while making it their idea to keep them getting better.
Because ghosts specifically children ( or teenagers) will not do something with enough care unless it's their idea. And will just say that it shows how you died and that it disappears after getting somewhat comfortable with the fact that you died ( when you become comfortable as a ghost/ become old enough to take care of yourself while dealing with other old ghosts but they won't say that)
Enter Danny going on a month school field trip/ family trip/ vacation by himself visiting a measum with Wonder Woman feeling a shit ton of death energy and "innocently" asking what this emblem is cause she never seen something like this before.
Danny just says that his friend is interested in occult and goth things (true, Sam) bought it (not true, but the thing attaches itself to what ever he's currently wearing so Sam took the fall for the team) because the seller said that it shows the wearer what they will die from (half truth) but for some reason it worked with only him and attached itself to him. And that they could not find the seller to ask them about it.
He says that death by a five lightning bolts doesn't sound too bad in jest.
Daina believes him and wonders what happened to the occultist that just had an item of future death telling and why it only worked with him.
She asks to inspect it.
Daina Prince a being who is touched by death/ related to death itself.
Wonder Woman, who can handle getting thrown through 12 building and stand up like it's nothing.
The amazon warrior, who repeatedly fought powerful entities that almost destroyed the entire universe and came out victorious.
...
Daina, the strong amazon warrior, experiences what it feels like to be a human, a small human child filled with so much curiosity and so much hope for the future, getting electrocuted for forty five minutes.
(And being ripped apart molecule by molecule and put together into something new but they focus more on the pain that will be given to a small teenager.)
Danny blinks, holds her steady and asks if she's okay?
She says she's fine, just didn't take her medicine. (Daina doesn't take medication, Daina doesn'tget sick, Daina doesn't get sick Diana doesnt get sick Dianadoesn'tgetsickDianad)
Danny tells a joke to make her feel better, brings her water to help her and asks if he should bring her anything while holding her hair up.
Daina vomits in the trashcan but tells him it's just the consequences of not taking her medication and thanks him.
Danny stays with her, comforting her, distracting her by talking about the beautiful constellation in the night sky, telling her that she'll be okay and help is on the way until her coworkers come with a mid kit.
Daina thanks him.
Danny wishes her health and safety with his large hopeful eyes and leaves.
Danny forgets about the interaction.
Daina did not.

The Medium and his assistant
Amity Park was a roller coaster, but after eliminating the GIW, talking to the Fentons, and getting some sort of alliance with the ghosts, Danny felt like he didn't have much else to do. He took Ellie's advice to travel a bit, but tried to make it a little more exciting.
Although the money he had been given could last forever (and longer with Vlad's card in his pocket), he wanted to earn his own money. So he made his trip a fun job, turning part of his vehicle into a trailer. Thus was born his career as a medium and fortune teller, traveling around the world, listening to the dead, advising people, etc.
Technically, thanks to Clockwork Danny could see the future, but he doesn't need it, or at least not always. And talking to the dead was practically his day-to-day, so he thought he had chosen well.
During one of his trips, when he passed through Gotham he found a zombie (which turned out to be a halfa!), the poor thing was lost, and wandering, so he helped him and did the most sensible thing possible: he offered him a job. Jason, who hadn't been back for a long time and his memories were scrambled, decided that he needed a vacation anyway, for his own sanity (not seeing the Joker's face was a bonus) and accepted the offer. Of course, he covered his face in case someone recognized him as the son of a millionaire, Danny approved.
Both traveled around the world, offering their services and bothering a certain Constantine who complained every time they had the same client (Danny replied that it really wasn't his fault, but the British man was still upset). A year later they returned to Gotham.
The Batfam assumed that Danny's business was a scam. But Bruce was desperate, he wanted to talk with Jason, to hear about him, even if it was a scam, so he visited them. When Danny asked who he wanted to contact, Bruce replied "Jason Todd."
Danny, who knew full well the identity of his employee, raised an eyebrow and glanced surreptitiously at his assistant, who was avoiding his gaze. He sighed before continuing his 'work', glancing at Jay from time to time.
A few days later, Dick Grayson showed up with the same request, and Danny made sure to kick Jason as soon as he left.

Flip the Table
Casually eavesdropping on what should be highly secure frequencies, Jason sipped his beer in a sleezy saloon style sports bar somewhere on the Vegas strip, nominally watching college(?) football; he's a hockey fan because baseball's boring as shit to watch and he's never got the appeal about American football. Football to the rest of the world was at least worth watching for the drama. Something had the Justice League in a tizzy and Zatanna -the one who normally covered Vegas when it came to the costumed crazies- was off world; Jason didn't have the details exactly but it sounded like Zatanna was dealing with some magical planar stuff and was not expected back for at least six more days. Assuming all went well.
So like any reasonable person who's going away for a time, she turned on her home security, had the alerts wired over to a friend -in this case Justice League Dark- gave a list of what was needed to be done and when -the pick up my mail and mow my lawn equivalants- went on her trip, trusting that the JLD were watching over her city and it wouldn't be on fire when she got back.
Such glorious hope.
And thus something happened so when Jason pulled into Vegas proper to investigate a desperate -read last hope- lead on a missing person's case, Jason happened to spy one of the lesser members of the JLD losing their shit in the sky. And so in a moment of civic duty, Jason started spying on them.
Magic was not something anyone trained by the Bat really ever got comfortable about, but chances were magic bullshit was going to intervene in his case. Justice League shit spilled over everything, all the time. Ghost cultists tripping Zatanna's necromancy alarms or whatever they were, was not Jason's business. Not unless the presumed cultists -those that had survived- had the person he was looking for.
No, he was looking at a missing person's case and his lead was 1. cold and 2. a longshot and 3. in a city full of tourists and catering staff, where "seen anything unusual lately" could be "there was this trio of tourists arguing how sex with your best friend doesn't count as cheating," or "someone having a meltdown over the delayed shipping of organic blueberries to the hotel," or "Sarah Maria got murdered a couple weeks ago on the job, but I haven't seen any notice about her funeral stuff on her social media, why yes, I do know she's dead, oh, she's dead and I'm an idiot for expecting someone dead to post on their socials their funeral deets."
Point was, he could look and ask all he wanted, beat feet for days, but the chances of this lead panning out were basically so minuscule that Jason could treat this more as a hobby case while on vacation. He still did his due diligence, asked the staff a few questions, called the guests on the same floor during the time period of their stay about how they found their stay, ran into the dead end of shitty business practices -they recorded over their own records every two weeks- and so unless Jason got the ability to do magic and do a "point me!" spell, the case would turn cold. It sucked when it happened but sometimes the evidence wasn't there. Or wasn't noticed or was destroyed before it could be collected. Sometimes people just didn't remember shit until three weeks later, which with some follow up digging gave him the lead to the hotel. Which got him nothing after that.
As Jason Todd didn't gain an innate ability to do magic that he was aware of that actually counted as magic bullshit magic instead of a couple cantrips, all he could do was get a beer and some food in a Vegas style Texas saloon bar. Which not his first choice, but it was full enough no one really paid attention to anyone. Technically a sport's bar but also very much was not. It was also busy enough that Jason ended up getting asked if someone could set with him at his table -which real Jason said hell no to, but cover Jason did agree to-
Oh. Meta. Jason realized quickly. Oh no, he's hot.
His hair is on fire!
How did the server miss that? Most metas don't casually out themselves like that! Too many people willing to target them for whatever power.
That hair was flaming, tied back in a low tail; Jason blinked and the hair flickered color, looked like normal hair -black- and then back to white fire, then black fire, some tv static abomination of color, white hair and then black hair. Another blink and it appeared to be black flames for hair and yeah, Jason closed his eyes. Pointedly ignored the hair thing. If the meta asked, Jason was judging him for the stupid little goatee.
The rest of the meta was built along the same lines as Jason himself, tall, broad and built. Packed with muscle, which was something to make note of; metas usually were more durable and could hit harder, so Jason casually made note to not get hit if a fight broke out.
Which it might, or probably would.
That's just how Jason's luck ran. To shit.
Said meta also ordered food and a beer, didn't even get asked for ID -unfair bias- and judging by the sound, turned in the seat to look at the American football screen that Jason had been ignoring. His hair had at least settled to black flames instead of the glitchy hair.
Of course as this was Vegas, people gambled on outcomes of games too. Which is how Jason learned the meta was rich enough to blow a couple grand -not expensive in the world of supers- but more than what the average person would be comfortable betting.
There were better ways to piss away money than gambling on sports. Like on over priced burgers and onion rings with an order of mozzerella sticks. The burger was good, admittedly Jason's had better and then some party of guys was yelling at the ref on a screen. And yup, that's some altercation with another table but the barman broke it up with a couple of words.
His tablemate muttered something about the ref having made the right call if one of the players wanted to continue a career professionally and Jason used that as social leverage to get a name -Dan, no last name given- and a bit more in-depth explanation on what stakes were going on; he's a hockey guy, not a football guy.
Some time later, Dan had caught him up on the football drama -nothing compared to the hockey drama- and conversation had drifted significantly from sports, lightly touched on family -Dan had siblings he shared little about other than they existed, which fair, they could also be metas and at risk- much like Jason did -he had siblings that existed, no further details- and parents weren't mentioned. Instead a lot of engineering talk, a slide into ethics -Dan's opinion on killing super villains was very much that some people needed Ended- and some small talk about how Dan's high school English teacher cursed in classical book titles.
Soon the easy joy of potential friendship ended when his phone rang; that was the Batman ringtone and Jason felt no guilt hanging up on him. And again. And again.
Then Dick rang and nope. He was not dealing with their shit. Dick would just sweeten up whatever shit B wanted to shovel.
And then Oracle's ringtone rang. Oh, now that was serious. Justice League shit spilling into his life again. No fucking doubt about it.
"Uh-huh, so what's up? Because I gotta say, I am a couple drinks in and the whole bar is waiting for one of the football teams to fumble or foul up their next play so they can throw down."
"Jay-" She started because much like Bruce, she would rather go straight into the mission, and Jason absolutely had wrong-footed her. Because instead of making excuses to leave, Jason had absolutely stayed. So now she had to rephrase things on the fly because who knows who might be listening in. "Hey, it's on the news that the Justice League is showing up in Vegas; something about investigating something magical showing up."
"Uh-huh, that's not a surprise. There was some magic ninny flying in a panic earlier. I decided it wasn't my business."
"I hadn't heard that," -bullshit, she just hadn't double-checked that herself yet- "but what I did hear that some cult might have succeeded in bringing something over."
"Uh-huh. Well, no one's praying to Cthulu yet, there's been no troublemaking beyond the usual human malice and nothing's on fire."
"We were just concer-" And Jason hung up on Oracle.
He'd pay for that later, but petty was satisfying now.
"Sounded important."
"Was bullshit."
"So an entity summoned by a cult that tripped a bunch of magicians into a tizzy-"
Yeah, those sharp ears were not for show. Enhanced hearing check. "That's a bunch of incompetents panicking." Time for his good guess to hit or miss. "You're not going to decide to destroy Vegas, are you?"
"Done it before, doing it again seems pointlessly petty." Statements Jason wasn't going to prod further right now.
"And what if Wisconson University loses?"
"Might flip the table." Dan shrugged.
"More beer?" Jason asked.
"Sure."

Dick, Jason, Tim and Damian get kidnapped to be used as sacrifices to offer to the Ghost King for when he arrived, the cultists went on and on about how they'll become the king's servants and that he will cleanse the mortal world.
Which, obviously neither of the four of them wants, especially when the Big Bat was off world on official league business too. So they try to sneakily remove their bindings and all of that, with Dick making conversation and the others piping in to distract them and stuff.
Unfortunately, the summoning still went as planned, but the result was not what any of them expected.
Instead of the ancient, ghostly eldritch king they expected, what they instead got was a giant ball of flaming feathers looking down at them sleepily, with a silence passing as if it were slowly processing what was happening before asking.
"Do you have any clue as to how hard it is to put a child godking to sleep."
---
Vlad and Danny have outlived everyone they knew in Amity Park by about 200 years. During those years, Vlad and Danny have gotten, better, with each other.
Now, you see, the Duke of the Black Flame did not care what exactly the boy did outside whenever he was summoned, but it then became his problem when he was told to go and collect the boy due to some complications.
He went along with it, but was irritated about it, he never had to do this before. So of course, as if to spite him, he found that Danny went and turned himself into a damn toddler.
So of course, his first reaction was to carry him to Clockwork and make him turn him back. He had some very choice words when Clockwork said no and didn't even tell him why that he didn't say.
And then the child was thrusted into his care.
He protested, of course, he was only 242, and this was a child he didn't even like on the best of days. To which Clockwork brought up how, didn't even always want to claim Danny as his son back in the day?
That was a younger phase in his life, the him now doesn't want anything to do with the brat.
But alas, he was still forced to take care of the child, claiming that only another halfa would be capable of properly taking care of another, which Vlad tried to refute, he truly, truly did.
But against the Observants and the Master of Time, he had to fold.
Fuck, he misses the time when he didn't have a title and thus, had to be involved within politics.
At least human politics were predictable.
The time following his caretaking of one Ghost King were utterly, terrible. First, Danny whined like, well, a toddler, when he brought him over to his domain because of the heat which, rude. Then he had to move into the castle to properly take care of him which he had to suck up.
It was either this, or the Far Frozen.
The palace was cold, which made him made feel a bit discomforted in prolong periods of time, due to always spending most of his time around heat, but nothing he couldn't handle.
Then he found out that dealing with a superpowered toddler was unpleasant, to say the least. The boy kept disappearing under his watch, flew through the palace halls at high speeds and seemingly boundless amounts of energy with even worse self-preservation instincts, and when he wailed?
He wailed.
Vlad already had his damn talons full with dealing with the brat.
And then came having to take on the king's workload due to said eastern dragon being a toddler. He had to physically deny himself from screaming when he heard of it, to keep Danny from joining in with a wail out of fun if anything else.
Three years passed, a blink of an eye to him now really, and Vlad was not having that great a time. He was stressed, tired, and not amused by both the lack of sleep and trying to keep Danny out of harm's way.
Did he mention that during those two years, Vlad had to be forced along whenever Danny was summoned? No? Well now you know.
The one time, the one time that the stars aligned to have Vlad neither have to deal with his shared workload and Danny finally asleep at the same time.
Of course, as soon as he closed his eyes and rested surrounded by his warmth. Of course, of Observants-damned course did the brat have to be summoned at that exact moment when he was finally getting some precious sleep.
He stared down at the cultists sleepily, his usual dignity and elegance lost to its basic functions as his mind slowly tried to process what was happening. When it did, he felt himself be irritated, before a wave of resignation flooded him and he asked one, simple question to hopefully drive the meaning into their thick, stupid skulls.
"Do you have any clue as to how hard it is to put a child godking to sleep."
Rhetorical question, really. He didn't expect an answer.

Omg like I had this dream about it yesterday. So what if batfam decided nope we're gonna ghost proof this house. And in the way they did it, they didn't use blood blossoms, ectoranium etc (blood blossoms are extinct and hard to find in large quantities and ectoranium is a space metal that nobody knows exist yet or confused with kryptonite) They used magic, so it's little less noticable.
And Tim decides to Invite his new friend over, aka Danny Fenton . Said friend refuses to touch anything while there. He wouldn't sit, eat food, or touch any of the occupants. And when he finally accidentally touches something, the spell works and he is captured with glowing chains or straight up thrown back into the infinite realms.
Danny finally has time for normal teenager shit. He managed slowly go through the bureaucratic shithole that is the infinite realms politics and he managed to come out with his sanity intact. Phantom is no longer a menace but a hero that tragically gave himself up to seal all of the Infinite realms (that is kinda true he did go through a nightmare to make sure ghosts didn't attack the living world and had to do the equivalent of centuries worth of paperwork to do that.)
And all things considered ghosts are a thing of the past for most people. ( He hopes that the ones he allows through keep their oaths and stay hidden)
And he can finally be a normal teenager again, albeit in Gotham of all places. But the death in the city masks his more inhuman traits and he really didn't wanna go through another paper work stuff to register himself as a meta without the meta gene, he would have to do that later though.
But he can do that later, he's on a vacation and he's not doing that.
-_-_-_-
He is standing in the doorway. People around him are getting their umbrellas and sadly he doesn't have one. He was debating internally if he should just go or go back to the lost and found for an umbrella.
He was waiting for Tim as he agreed to come for dinner. The car ride to the Wayne manor was calm, filled with few words.
All changed when he came to find the whole manor was covered in intricate magical circles and traps. He saw atleast few that straight up sent him to the dark parts of the realms and he didn't want to touch that. And as much as he wanted to straight up escape, Tim had been asking for multiple days.
So as much as he wanted to flee, his social skills are shit and he didn't want to risk the awkwardness afterwards.
So he tried his best. Didn't touch the ground floated slightly above it, didn't touch the furnitures cuz apparently it was considered part of the house, couldn't touch the walls. Couldn't even touch the residents before setting the alarms off.
He thinks he pulled it off. Of course he pulled it off everything was going smoothly and he just has to make sure he has everyone in the room in his sights and float a bit. Well until the actual dinner. He couldn't touch the food and he looked quite akward so much so Tim whispers to him.
"You okay? You aren't touching your food."
"Oh I'm okay, it's just-" before he could even start with his sorrowful excuses, someone someone grabs his arm, again it wouldn't have been a problem too it would only raise the alarm, until he is pushed down into the chair thus triggering multiple traps .
Big golden chains appear and he is arleady out of the chair by then. He opens a window and turns to say sorry but he accidentally trips over another trap and is pulled into the realms. He should probably cross Tim out of his list of friends.
-_-_-_-
Tim's friend just fell through a portal, should probably call Constantine about that.
Dick was the first one to speak up after the silence that incued.
"Did we just banish Tim's new friend to the shadow realm?"
"Wait why did he trigger the alarm? He didn't seem all that ghostly, was he like Jason"
"Probably. We probably won't see him again, do we just. . . Push the blame onto Constantine?"
" We are heroes-"
"And how the heck are we supposed to enter the realms anyway? And escape! Constantine greatly expressed that portal was one way only"
*Tommorow*
They see Danny just waltzing through Gotham and they pull him aside.
"What the fuck. You got pulled into the shadow realm yesterday! How do you even trigger the alarms"
Danny who arleady went through the five stages of denial and how tf am I gonna explain "oh you see i am a warlock of....uhhhh
I didn't think this far
OH PHANTOM. THE GREAT PHANTOM"
And after a very stressful meeting with batman and the entire JL dark members cuz apparently his alter ego became a big deal without his agreement.
Where he
Had to speed learn how to create duplicates
Had to fight off a few ghost lawyers cuz they wanted to be a part of "the very important meeting of importance"
Got asked to do magic (he's still learning okay?)
He panicked tried to sell one of his powers as a spell or him just having the copy of his patrons power.
More people got worried about him supposedly creating a contract with a very powerful new unknown diety
Got into the JL dark as a warlock
People apparently trusts him now???? As FENTON??????
Apperantly showing off weaker version of patrons power was a bad idea cuz he greatly overestimated the power limit.
He is a powerful warlock of a powerful "demon"?
WHAT THE FUCK DO U MEAN I- MY PATRON IS NOT A DEMON
"so what is he"
Uhhhhhh a guardian spirit?
Uunhuun soo it's phantom right.?? Leme do some research
WHAT DO U MEAN PHANTOM IS APPARENTLY A GOD AND IS KNOWN GLOBALY FOR BEING THE GOD OF HEROES??
Wait . . . . Clockwork. Oh my god.
Now he is the number one call up magic person for the bats now.

[ In which Damian Wayne is dipped into the lazarus pits as a babe in order to ensure his perfection. During one such event, something comes out with him. ]
Cue overprotective ghost big bro wreaking havoc in the league of assassins and, eventually, the batfam.
The relationship between Danny and Damian is simply:
Dami: He don't bite.
Literally anybody, getting mauled the moment they even look at Damian weird: YES HE DO
Some notes if I were to ever write this into anything:
This fic would take place in the "future". Danny, a borderline immortal being, has long since outlived his friends and family (with a few exceptions like Dani and a few people becoming ghosts). With this in mind, he doesn't really leave the ghost zone anymore unless he's incredibly bored. Aaaand since the ghost zone operates on a different scale of time and ghosts are weird, he's a bit out of his depth when he leaves. Thus: he embraces his ghost side almost full time.
Danny is of course the ghost king because you can't have a dpxdc fic without that trope.
Damian is 100% shipped to Bruce early, only because the league Can Not™️ with the kid's eldritch guard dog.
Danny "pranks" the league by being a creepy little shit. That, and doing the stupidest shit. Like slowly filling Ra's Al Ghul's private room with rubber ducks until it becomes unbearable.
Let it be said that Ra's has definitely debated just murking his grandson to stop the rubber duck rebellion.
Danny doesn't like Bruce. Of all the batfam, he has it out especially for him. Probably something to do with being rich and having a creepy underground lair.
You know who Danny does like? Jason. Wow, what a shocker.
Danny also definitely cheers Damian on when he tries to impale any of his adoptive siblings. It's a love language.

3 HC/AU Prompt Thingy (3)
1). Box Ghost hears he was powerful and feared I'm the Dan timeline, gets ripped
2). Jason, as a reverent can hit ectoplasm ghosts
3). Guys Night Out (choose whatever ghosts you want)
(I love making these and your the only one who writes for them, :))
Ok hear me out: Full DILF box ghost. Don't scroll away and just give me a second of your time ok?
Boxy gets swoll. Real swoll. His gimmick might still be dumb but now he's so strong that no one dares to point that out anymore. That being said, he is still the best dad ever to Boxed Lunch. I'm talking about helping her tie her shoes, being a willing participant in her tea parties, tucking her in at night, the works. He's such a good father that when Boxed Lunch asks for a super rare Orphan toy that was only ever distributed in Gotham, he immediately agrees to get it for her.
Johnny 13 hears about Box Ghost's little outing and invites himself along as he wants to get Kitty some new jewelry to make up for their last fight. Thus begins a wild night for Boxy and Johnny as they both have a heart to heart (now that Johnny 13 can't make fun of him for fear of being punted through a wall) plus they even bond over how much they love the women in their lives.
All is going well. The boys have done some fun stuff around the city, gotten up to a little mischief, and even picked up Johnny's apology jewelry. The only thing left is Boxed Lunch's toy. As they're scouring an abandoned warehouse full of discontinued toys that's when Jason drops it. He'd been getting reports of strange occurrences all night from his men and he'd finally been able to track it down to this warehouse. Of all the things Jason anticipated, it was not two weird looking metas going through boxes. But nevertheless he has a job to do.
He aims his gun at the two metas and demands they step away from the boxes. They don't. Why would they? They're ghosts, this human can't hurt them. Sure enough when Jason eventually fires at their knees after a couple of warning shots, the rubber bullets go right through. Jason is shocked to say the least. And now his mind is whirring a mile a minute trying to figure out how those two just did that. Meta powers? Hidden tech? How is he going to deal with this? He doesn't want to go through the embarrassment of calling for backup.
Johnny 13 on the other hand, is pretty peeved this guy won't leave them alone. He's ruining their night out! So he decides to scare him. Maybe that will make him leave. So Johnny gets right up in Jason's fac- er mask and lets out a pretty impressive ghostly howl if he does say so himself. Except instead of running away, Jason instinctively punches him. In the nose. And it hurts. A lot.
So now Johnny is reeling in pain, Jason realizes he can take care of these guys the old fashioned way and Boxy has finally found the Orphan toy. "Oh no!" I hear you say. "The fight of the century between Boxy and Jason is about to go down!" Actually no. Not really.
Box Ghost has been teaching Boxed Lunch about conflict resolution recently and he is not about to let his actions contradict his words. So he explains the situation to Jason. Jason for his part is a little miffed but understanding. You're just trying to be a good father. I get it. Besides these toys are just gonna collect dust in here anyways. Oh but you do have to return the jewelry. *Sad (and pained) Johnny 13 noises*
Jason kinda feels bad for the whole, punching Johnny in the nose thing (even though it was totally his fault) so he offers to take them to find non-stolen jewelry for Kitty instead. Thus the boys night continues! Now with extra shenanigans.

DP x DC Long Fics (100,000 Above)
Complete
Secrets Lost by ArtemisMoore :
(Currently being edited) Danny knew that someday, somehow that something like this would happen. That his parents would discover his secret and react in one of two ways; a) they would be confused but accept him like they had in all of the other temporary cases they’d experienced, or b) they would stick to their guns (literally) and decide that their son was the enemy. Now, of course, he and his friends had been preparing for this day since the first Ghost Attack on Amity Park. They had bags packed, emergency supplies stashed around Amity Park and surrounding cities, emergency funds, and safe houses. They had plans, preparations, and procedures that all of “Team Phantom” had memorized. Even Valery, who had only been a part of “Team Phantom” for a week and still didn’t know his identity! But none of them could have imagined that “Operation Friend or Foe” would happen like this. When all of their preparations were hundreds of miles away, supplies were out of reach, and where all of his friends and allies couldn't help him. They had no idea… that everything would go this wrong. Word Count: 103,445 Completed
Batman, Meet Team Phantom by Sivan5733 :
Jason leaves Amity Park for Gotham, but an emergency call changes everything. The Fentons have discovered Danny's secret, and things are going horribly wrong. While Jazz, Sam, and Tucker save Danny from Jack and Maddie, the group is now on the run. Jason and his family pull all of their resources together to make things right.

Nothing But The Dead And Dying (back in my little town) by Umei_no_Mai :
Dan has just been rescued and is feeling a bit shorter than usual. Jason Todd has just been petitioned like he's a feudal warlord, which has never happened before but he could maybe get used to. They can probably make this work so long as Batman doesn't stick his nose in. Yeah, like that'll happen. Word Count: 123,925 Completed
Bitter, had the Heart by CastrianAmore :
Tim is the only one consistently watching. Thus he’s the first and only one to notice one more body following the streets like the bats do. A kid with all black hair and white motifs and an attitude problem that reminds him a tad too much of Jason. It was a shame Jason was adamant that he “didn’t know anything”, what a liar right?
But the streets of Gotham listened and the name on everyone’s lips playing like a discordant harmony was one word: Distortion. Not that Tim knew what it meant yet, but Danny would make sure he would. If Danny lived long enough for Tim to find out.

“Hey, I do I... Do I know you?” Danny asks, a hand coming up to brush something off Tim’s cheek. “No,” Tim says. “We haven’t met.” “Oh, no, I do.” Danny says, and he smiles, teeth white and sharp. “You’re that guy who rearranged my guts!” Rearranged his- Tim glances at the knotted scars on the boy’s abdomen. Tim’s fucked. OR Danny Fenton's been in GIW captivity for 4 months. Tim Drake gets kidnapped by the GIW one Tuesday evening in May. Kite Flies Over The Nightingale Nest by Th3Sp4rrow :
My prompt list is from ailesswhumptober on Tumblr :) Tw's are at the start of each chapter! When Jason Todd learns that Catherine Todd wasn't his biological mother- that his bio mom as well as his twin brother were still out there somewhere in the world- he'd almost left the matter alone. He already had Dick; he didn't need another brother. Although, he did miss his mom... He'd decided to try and find Sheila Haywood, the woman who had relinquished him to his father and had dropped his twin off somewhere along the way. Meanwhile, Daniel Fenton had been protecting his town of Amity Park for months. Now, with the Ghost Investigation Ward closing in, the stakes are higher than ever. After a night out gone horribly wrong, the Fentons' know his secret. He's Phantom, and he's half ghost. They chase him cross-country, meets some interesting characters, and sees the GIW attempting to kidnap a boy about his age. He takes action. He swoops in to save the boy and... fails. Instead of saving him, they both get shoved into the back of some shitty van. That was when they realized they knew the face staring back at them. Word Count: 139,347 On-going

“If you ever find yourself in danger, go to Bruce Wayne. He will help you.” His mother had loved him, in her own way. If she hadn’t, she wouldn’t have helped him escape. If she hadn’t, she would have dragged him back to the League of Assassins, to Grandfather. If she hadn’t, he’d be dead. She loved him, but she loved the League more. Jack and Maddie Fenton loved him too, they did, but they loved their work more. They loved their work more. -- After his parents react poorly to his reveal, Danny escapes to the only person he thinks can help him - Bruce Wayne. He doesn't know what to expect when he gets there, but it has to be better than where he is, surely? He certainly doesn't expect to be reunited with his long lost twin brother Damian. It's funny how things work out that way. Danny is 16 years old, not Phantom Planet compliant Word Count: 117,934 On-going

Magnetism, Cont.
I am currently working on the outline for Magnetism (no I am not unnecessarily avoiding sleep, what are you talking about?) and find myself no closer to figuring out who I want to ship Danny with.
Keep in mind Danny can't be super old because his 'reign of terror', if you will, has only just begun and he's only starting to establish himself as an anti-hero after Everything. At the youngest he can be 16, oldest 24. That age can change depending on who he's shipped with, of course. (The younger he is, the angrier I make him. I make the rules and they will hurt you.)
I've seen a few ships thrown out there, and I've narrowed down a few possibilities. I'll even offer you what their ship dynamic would look like in the fic to help you choose wisely. ;3 Make sure to check UNDERNEATH the poll for the reasoning.
THINGS TO KNOW:
This fic will be rated Mature for blood and violence. And by violence I mean that Danny kills a FUCK ton of people, wow. Also, going along with the influence from the X-men's Magneto, there will be political commentary/deconstruction that can and will influence the tone and manner of the ship dynamics. Also, Ghost King Danny.
Jason/Danny - Anti-hero meets anti-hero, true love at first blood, baby. I think these two would get along the easiest, but they also would be very poor influences on one another. Jason is likely invoking Danny's bloodlust even more, only minimally helping him keep a cool head. However, this could also be a learning opportunity for Jason. It's his turn to see what his friends and family saw from him when he first started beheading people. Could either happen at the start of Jason's Red Hood career, or when he's closer to the family. Very flirtatious, very bloody.
Angst score: 5/10
Dick/Danny - There's a little more friction between these two, but at the end of the day, Dick sees the angry child he had been in the grieving, desperate version of Danny that he is now. Danny is very charismatic, matching Dick's charm. They talk around each other a lot, arguing their points constanly because Dick knows Danny doesn't really want this, but Danny knows this is the only way. Dick could be younger, only just beginning his career as Nightwing to match Danny's rising anti-hero career as well. However, this means we only get kid!Jason for the Batfam (and maybe kid!Tim). You could still have him at 24 like most of my fics, of course. Softer, lots of innuendos.
Angst score: 7/10
Bruce/Danny - Oh boy, here comes the Unhealthy, Unresolved Sexual Tension. The political and moral debates between these two make any onlooker believe they're either about to murder or fuck each other. I believe it was @thatrandomsarahchick that pointed out that Magneto has a thing with Professor X (which, you're not wrong about btw), and there were other choices technically, but the Big Three were the ones that stood out to me the most. I couldn't separate Clark and Lois, though, and honestly I think Danny and Diana would get along... a little too well. And thus, we get lots and lots of UST. Bruce knows Danny's anger all too well, which is why he wants to try to convince Danny to change his path, but Danny sees Bruce as too soft to kill, to do what needs to be done, and they are just so broken up over it. However, this would be set at, the earliest, Year Three so no Batfam other than possibly baby!Dick.
Angst score: 12/10 (Highest Score!)
John/Zatanna/Danny - Now these guys, hohoho, let me tell you... These guys are a shit show and a half. This throuple offers you some of the bloodiest, wildest fight scenes I will probably ever write. If you think Jason is a bad influence on Danny, then you are not prepared for what these three have going on. John is unintentionally egging Danny on, Zatanna is trying not to get everyone killed, and Danny is- quite frankly- unused to this kind of attention. More worldbuilding than political debates, honestly the least interesting of all the proposed ships. But still worth mentioning! Their ages have a wide range, however, with potentially a 14 year age gap between Danny and John, as he is the oldest. Zatanna would be between them.
Angst score: 4/10. Whump score: 8/10
Kara/Danny - Now this one is probably the most unique of the ships, just because it has some of the most noticeable impact on the plot progression. I believe it was @thevigilantspider that first proposed this ship for the fic. So in this case, Kara would have to be new to Earth. She's inexperienced with all that the planet has to offer, still grieving her planet, her people, and her family. She's getting used to how, ah, delicate humans on Earth are and just overall not having a super great time. So she would agree to find out more about this anti-hero to prove herself capable and get a feel of the political scene of the planet. This also means that she gets a very interesting lense on everything thanks to Danny, and it really shapes her as she continues with her possible hero career. I think Danny would be the most... Danny, for the lack of a better word, with Kara. However this means there is bound to be a lot of Emotional Hurt/Comfort.
Angst score: 8/10
(Do be aware that these angst scores are for the couples themselves, not the plot as a whole. The plot will be plenty angsty on its own.)
A great many things to think about. Think hard, choose wisely, my friends.

for the WIP game.... ghost!robin has me in a chokehold.... spare some words? (if you have already talked about this project it's okay!! ignore me ✌️)
Nope! No one's asked about it. I don't have any prepared snippets, but I know I have some things to ramble about.
Honestly, as I mentioned many times, Ghost!Robin is my first experience writing so many characters in a scene together. I never expected it to blow up into the behemoth it actually became. But I think I'm a better writer for it.
One of the hardest things for me to figure out was how I wanted to solve the Jason&Robin situation. There's been one commenter who has said a few times that it'd feel cheap to just wave a hand and have them merge back into one. Thus erase the entire situations.
And I had to agree.
So the situation will be much more complicated from that. Both Jason and Robin will have to grow and change if they are to become one again.
Jazz and the bats can be supportive and listen, but they can't really help with the situation, either. In the end, it has to come from both Jason and Robin.
And they don't want to.
I mean, why would they? To Jason, Robin is literally everything he gave up. All his childhood innocence, his belief that Robin was Magic, his idealism: he gave that up to become the man he is. And Robin took all that. That's all he is. He hates that his older counterpart doesn't believe in the magic anymore, is willing to kill, has hurt his own family.
Neither wants to forgive the other because they know they are the one in the right.
On top of that, Jason is afraid Robin will take his place in the family. And Robin feels that Jason spent so much time pushing them away and hurting them and refusing to go home that he doesn't deserve them any more.
The one thing I regret with writing in close Jason POV for this part of the story is that I can't fit in how much Robin is hurting and angry as well in this. Maybe I'll fit in a scene from his POV at some point, because he's going through just as much as Jason is. And he can't even distract himself by making bread or beating up a punching bag. He's too intangible for that.

✄ and ♡ for you! I know it says 'pick a fic' but can I just ask about the entire Incident Report series for the favourite line? If not then just do the first one.
Editing process! I work in big word documents. When I'm jumping back in, I'll reread a bit. Fix typos/errors, rephrase things. Very recently, I've started writing out of order. This let's me rearrange scenes. Also, keeps me writing because I'm always working on the part I want to be, not slogging through to get to that beautiful scene in my brain.
Hahaha, we're doing all 6 Incident Reports!
#1
“The Lord of Fear is born from the collective human memory of terror. As long as mankind has feared the unknown, of what lurks in the dark, I have existed.” Bro.
Because I love how irreverent Tim is this entire first summoning. He's like "Bet. This is happening. Wanna help me be a stalker?"
And meanwhile Fright Knight is like "This child does not comply with my understanding of children. I have Concerns."
#2
“So like, spirit. The Ghost of Human Terrors Past and Future can use a phone? How does that work? Did the academy secretary hear the screams of the damned during that call?”
I just love the entire phone call bit.
#3
Impossibly, Fright Knight straightens further. “It is what we do in spite of the fear. For there's the rub, to endure or to concede. Thus, many have fought against me and prevailed regardless of odds.”
Awww Frighty being like "humans are great" while not minutes earlier he was bitchy about Tim being a soft fragile human.
#4
This one is hard to pick for. Not because it isn't good, it's one of my favorites. But it's more of an exploration, not zings or one-liners. But I love this symmetrical moment:
A stranger looks back at Tim from the mirror. Tim doesn’t recognize himself, more ghost than anything else. Everything feels far away.
And
When he looks back to the mirror, Fright Knight stands behind him. Tim doesn’t turn, opting to observe the spirit through the reflection. It’s familiar. It’s different. Everything is so fucked up.
When I was writing, I was thinking of Tim feeling unsteady. He looks and doesn't recognize himself. He looks again, and finds something familiar. I wanted a push/pull of Tim getting to know himself. Fright Knight gives him guidance during that time through confronting fear, but also being a safety net.
#5
“I believe you are familiar with the definition of insanity.”
“Sure, I am. Would you prefer Merriam-Webster or Oxford English?” Tim quips with a smirk. The glare intensifies and he can't help but laugh.
This is one of the funniest things I've ever written. Convince me otherwise. My other choice for #5 would be Fright Knight looking at the photos.
#6
“Uncle Frank Night? Uncle Frank Night?”
“You named him what?” Phantom crows. “Fright Knight, elder spirit, endless fear incarnate. And you named him… Frank?”
“I was sixteen and stressed!” The defense falls flat.
“I can't believe you tried to pass off this,” Dick gestures at Fright Knight with a jab, “as a living relative!”
“Hey, that's not fair –,”
“-- please know, I'm going to call him –,”
“-- Fright Knight has feelings and you're being rude–,”
“-- he's a haunted suit of armor, Tim!”
“-- Frank during court from now on –.”
“-- yeah, Dick, and I've known him longer than you –.”
Actually near impossible to pick for this one. Honorable mentions: Danny's explanation of how he knows Jason, Fridge haunting/food unionizing, Alfred and Fright Knight colluding, Dick continually losing his shit.

what if Neptune had two types of children — light children personifying the father as the god of the earth and fresh water and dark children personifying the father as the god of the merciless sea and earthquake?
The idea doesn't belong to me! here is this post from anonymous. —https://www.tumblr.com/goblinwithartsupplies/729000820113276928/children-of-neptune-with-dead-eyes-the-color-of?source=share
I just became interested in your opinion.
Note: I wrote way more than I thought I did so apologies for the length and related deviations from the Neptune part 😂 but summarized version is basically, yes, I think that's a great concept. The kinder fresh water kids are likely infrequently born compared to their more destructive siblings because of the way PJO canon has the modern day Romans think of Neptune as this eldritch terror. So the fresh water aspect is not as appreiated and thus not as prevalent when a kid is born.
Because demigods are basically representatives of their parents for the mortal plane, you know? So, yes, they will represent the various aspects their parent has. They will be able to control the aspects that they don't favour. So the fresh water kids will be able to control salt water and create hurricanes, but these things are little bit more difficult for them than it is for their siblings who favour the destructive side.
The destructive ocean kids can make rain, can find fresh water in the earth or pull it out of other liquids. But it's more difficult for them.
But anyway, rambling aside, yes, I agree 100%. See the read more for my initial babblings.
I think that's a really good take - especially since we already have a split in Hazel taking the brunt of jewels and gems and earth versus Nico's much more prolific hold on death. Arguably we could say Jason is more law and order, justice and judgement, and Thalia is more the expanse of the sky, lightning and thunder and clouds. But we don't know much about Thalia's skills or proficiency with powers. And the way she's represented when we do see her, indicates that she more favours the leadership king of the gods aspect of her dad.
I remember so little of TTC other than the general facts of events, but I do remember that she argued with Percy and Zoe about certain decisions, and then immediately got elected as Artemis's right hand man even though she's still fresh from the tree and only just joined the group. Lmao, imagine someone joining the army but instead of coming in as a Private or whatever the starting rank is, they immediately go to General.
But anyway yeah, that's why I would argue Thalia favours that aspect of her father, where Jason has stated that he never wanted to be a leader so that is definitely not an aspect of his dad that he favours instinctually.
And yes - these are more of a Roman/Greek split 😂 but look I'm working with what I got, okay?
For kids in the same pantheon, I think in PJO canon, probably in the Apollo books or Nico's book, it's stated that the Apollo kids often have different strengths (because the man has ADHD and could not settle on one thing, should be elected the god of hobbies) - certain kids are more medical, others are more artistic, the rest are best at archery. So there's that too!
In my headcanons, I envision Bianca being much more proficient at shadows and darkness and inflicting nightmares (ala Melinoe 🙌 but also Hades 👍) compared to Nico's proficiency with death and ghosts and traveling through dreams. He can't force anything the way Bianca can, but she is also much less sensitive to death and souls than he is. Shadowtravel takes a lot more effort for him than for her, but he can touch a person and have them shrivel up into ash and empty clothes without the effort killing him. She wouldn't have recovered as well from ghostifying Bryce.
People see their worst nightmares when Bianca pins them with a look. They see their death when it's Nico. With Hazel, they probably see themselves being crushed by the earth or something, idk, but she also has the spooky Underworld child stare!
So yes! I think in PJO canon, it starts off with the life-giving children as Neptune starts off as god of fresh water. Then the destructive kids come in as he becomes conflated with Poseidon and the (PJO canon) Romans develop a dislike and distrust of the sea. As that distrust continues to grow into what we have in modern day PJO canon, most of the kids come out cruel and dark-hearted as Neptune himself shifts more to settle with popular belief.
I have a similar thought process with Zeus' children! Yes, he is the god of law and order as well as the sky and king of the gods, but most people these days remember him as the god of sky, lightning and thunder, king of the gods! The law and order, divine justice part kind of gets ignored or forgotten. And that's not necessarily a bad thing, but it means the kids who represent that aspect of him become much smaller in number until there's maybe one every few decades rather than consisting of maybe... 25% of the current generation as they used to.
My thought process on that is, yeah, I imagine the ancient Greeks were much more aware of Zeus being the god of law and order considering he was a major part of their belief system, but there is also Themis who was the god of divine justice, and Dike, their daughter, who took charge of human justice, and in a time of mostly rural and somewhat scattered living control over nature is much more desirable.
Of course, I'm not a history buff, so this is all just general mental mutterings, but likely in larger towns or cities, having him as the forefront of law and order would be a bigger deal than with farmers who just want rain for their crops and the birds to stop eating their plants.
So in the beginning the split was probably something like 75-25 with more proficiency in the elements. And then as populations grew and cities developed, maybe it moved to a 65-35? Or a little higher. I don't think the law and order, justice and judgement favoured kiddos were ever very populous compared to their more elemental counterparts.
Then Rome was established and Jupiter's resulting demigods were much more focused on the whole leadership, maintaining order and erecting laws/rules to follow, enacting justice where they saw fit and punishing rulebreakers.
I figure the kids of the Roman version of Nemesis (quick search says her name is Invidia) were helpful in this area as well. Nemesis is revenge, yes, she was also divine retribution. Her kids, at least in the past before people focused only on the revenge aspect, ideally would prefer retributive justice - aka proportionate to the act.
This aspect makes them more focused on "real" laws, essentially laws approved by authority versus personal rules established by individuals. This makes them somewhat less biased on method of punishment/justice to be distributed compared to Zeus/Jupiter's kids who I headcanon to be focused on their own internal rules versus the general rules established by society.
Like a rule in school is to share the toys available. But if the kid has a personal rule that says "This specific toy does not have to be shared because it is the best toy/my favourite" then the overall sharing rule goes out the door. BUT also if someone else tries not to share something other than that specific toy, then they will jump to action in maintaining that rule.
I have thought about this a lot because my original story (which. I so badly need to keep working on, I think about it all the time 😩) based around this concept of intense sense of justice combined with autistic routine and internalized structure. But I've also thought about it a lot in general surrounded Jason because I use him to project my OC for attention bc lmao no one cares about my oc shitposting otherwise 😂
And yes, this means when I'm in charge of the character the law and order justice and judgement babies are typically autistic. Or at least carry way more in autistic traits than their more elemental counterparts. Because. That's what I'm working with lmao.
Also keeping with the example - the Nemesis/Invidia kids would look at someone breaking the sharing rule and establish a proportionate or previously established measure, like timeout or banning them from playing with the toy for a period of time.
Whereas, depending on how important the rule was to them or whether the rule clashed with a personal rule (such as "this toy is mine" or "my friends are allowed to play with whatever toy they want"), the Zeus/Jupiter kids might think justice needs to be more intense, like extending the period of time they can't play with the toy, or significantly more extreme, like spanking or expelling them from the school.
Each kid will have a varying level of extremes when it comes to justice, depending on the importance they give any law, whether societal or personal. This makes them really annoying to deal with sometimes, but luckily these days there's only one Zeus kid at a time and Roman gods appear to have less kids than their Greek counterparts (possibly because Greek gods are more popular in modern society so they don't exist in Roman form very often, hence the much higher quantity of legacy demigods inside Camp Jupiter) so they don't have to deal with it as much either.
But given Jupiter's much higher status in Rome compared to Zeus in Greece, the campers are probably much more willing to deal with whatever the Jupiter kids come up, even if it's the nuclear option over something innocuous. The Greek campers would probably give them drugs and make them go to sleep 😂. Like they respect Zeus's kids much more than they respect the others, but Zeus is still apart of a counsel of 12, thereby somewhat equal to them regardless of his king status, but Jupiter is the head of Rome. So his opinion, and his kids' opinions, are much more valued and respected. At least by most of the campers. His siblings and his niblings are probably just like "bro stop talking" lmao.
At least in reality that's how it should be. In PJO canon, maybe the Jupiter kids get drugged and sent to bed for their nuclear decisions too 🤷‍♂️ who knows lmao
So 😂😂 yes all that rambling aside, I think that Neptune having a split of life-giving and destructive kids due to his own split nature - salty killer ocean versus life-giving refreshing fresh water. But as modern perception changes - at least in PJO canon but probably IRL too since I'm pretty sure most people connect Neptune direct to Poseidon and are not aware of the fresh water origin - the destructive kids appear more and more with the calmer kinder kids crumbling down in number, until, like Zeus' law and order babes, there's only one every so often.
And due to the pre-established concept that Neptune is not a form that Poseidon takes often because Greek gods are more popular, that means he probably only has a fresh water favoured kid every few hundred years. So the fresh water kids are like a myth to the other demigods. A pipe dream, lost to time.
But also - just because the kids favour a specific aspect doesn't mean that they can't use the other aspects. It's just harder and requires more effort for them than it would be the kids who favoured the aspect they're trying to hit. So the vicious ocean kids can make fresh water out of salt water. They can create rain to water plants. But it requires more effort than like. Creating a huge wave to knock everyone over because they're bored.
The fresh water kids are likely more skilled with oceanic, giant waves that aren't technically tsunamis, hurricane, typhoon and, yes, also tsunami type powers as well because, even if they do favour fresh water, it's not like they're born knowing that. So like everyone else they will probably assume destructive ocean energy, especially if there's another Neptune baby teaching them. But they will go to bed each night, haunted by these intense feeling that they're missing a core aspect of who they are.
The ocean is part of them, yes, it's their father. But the fresh water wells deep below the earth pull at their gut even if they don't know that's what they're feeling, and when it rains they feel more rejuvenated than their sibling(s) do. Their skyborn cousins can control the rain and sky, but sometimes they think that's wrong. The rain belongs to them, doesn't it? They should be the masters of it, the givers of it. They should be handling it far better than their eaglet cousins.
Also - the rain thing. Neptunalia was a summer festival in honor of Neptune, held in the hopes that he would bless them with rain because of the heat and drought. So yeah, rainstorms, sun showers, etc, are things they can do. Percy, as a child of Poseidon, can't do that. He can make hurricanes but that's not really the same as a sun shower, or putting a raincloud over your head to wash off all the mud on you from this monster lmao.
But since the CJ Romans fear and detest Neptune, it's likely that they don't celebrate this festival - although I wrote a little thing a couple years ago about Jason trying to get Percy to help him set up his modern replacements for the festival when I was in my "Jason is an intense follower of Religio Romana" (the Roman version of Hellenstic paganism)" kick 😂. But reality is that in PJO canon it's unlikely they celebrate it - and that was the only festival Neptune had.
Also additional side note: Neptune is not a god of the earth. He was the god of all fresh water on earth - rivers, streams, underground wells of fresh water, rain (which is soaked into the earth). But yeah that's where the earth thing came from.
It would be cool if, as a result, his kids were able to manipulate the earth a little bit other than earthquakes. Like the earth would have to be super saturated with water, so a desert wouldn't work even if they created a rainstorm to flood it. Also the earth does not really soak up water in a flood either so trying to make wet soil to manipulate through rainstorms is not very possible for them and they hate that so much, lmao.
Imagine a little kid standing in one spot slowly watering a planter filled with dirt, stopping every few seconds to mix up the dirt before they go back to watering. They're there for like fifteen minutes before they stop water and then they're trying to raise the dirt into a misshapen ball and they're sweating so hard from the effort before it just collapses back into the planter and they have to sit down because, ooof.
Yeah, earth is a very small thing for them manipulation-wise and only under specific circumstances. I think the most they could do is maybe move it a bit, which could be useful when trying to trip up enemies, but otherwise it's not the most beneficial power 😂 but there were likely one or two kids who were obsessed with mastering it over the centuries.
Anyway, in what is definitely not gonna be a brief summation, yes, yes, yes. I do love heartless cruel child of Neptune in PJO, representing what Percy could turn into if he lost everyone he ever cared about, the people who keep him moral and ethical. But gentle kids who like to help other people because they favour the fresh water aspect of their father. The aspect that gives fresh water for people drink to survive, to water their crops. The aspect that provides rain during the drought, so they can collect it and survive.
A lot of the gods have various aspects to them, so their kids will favour different aspects. Thalia favours the leadership of Zeus, Nico favours death, Hazel favours wealth, etc, etc.
The only kids who are likely very consistent amongst themselves are the children of gods who have one specific purpose that's never wavered, even if their history isn't very consistent because of parentage changes or origin differences - like Nemesis or Dike or Moros. Set gods, you know? The ones who don't have an "and" in their "god of" statements.
But other gods, even minor gods because some of them do have more than one purpose like Persephone and Eros, will have kids that instinctually favour different aspects of themselves. Modern day perception may shift how many kids born favour certain aspects, like Neptune having more oceanic kids and Zeus having more elemental kids.
Feel like I need to wrap this up in a fancier way than the above ending sentence but lmao I got nothing so we're gonna go with the classic: The End.

since you mentioned it....pls make champion/Blessing of Erebus Nico :3
Nov 25th here we go. Just so you know Ponii, your asks are my source of serotonin.
So, Nico as Champion of Erebus - because my boy is nothing if not hello darkness my old friend am I right *wink wink nudge nudge* ?. That is to say, I'm building these headcanons on the basis that Nico is favored by Erebus, or rather darkness itself, and thus gained his protection (and by extension, Nyx's as well).
I like to think that Nico thrives in darkness, which is his element. That which people find bleak and scary, he thinks of it as nurturing and resting. He's born of the most barren land of life, he enjoys the darkness, and how fitting, the shadows love him in kind. Isn't it adorable?
I prefer to think of Erebus as Nico's friend (which you can alr see clearly enough in my fanfics). And I'd like to note that they're friends solely based on their mutual understanding - creatures of darkness clinging to each other's warmth, something like that. Compassion. Sympathy. Something only they can see.
The sun forsakes him, so he returns to the dark - this is basically my idea for like the whole thing.
Nico can be Erebus' champion, but I think of their relationship more as symbiotic and Erebus grants Nico power due to his personal favoritism rather than a Juno-Jason type of champion-ship lol.
Which is why Nico doesn't have many duties as the Champion of Erebus. His job is, well, to befriend the shadows and the primordial himself - it's just that simple. Erebus doesn't want to take over the world, he just wants a friend.
Nico's the most lively during nightfall. The darkness fuels him, he feels safe, and also he enjoys its calm yet mischievous company - because darkness has a lot to hide.
Shadows are everywhere. They watch and they listen, and they are awfully enthusiastic gossipers. Nico has no choice but subject to their revelations, and more often than not, he knows too many secrets he doesn't want to know.
As Champion of Erebus, Nico is his own source of darkness. He can pull it out of himself and uses it to his liking. He can blind the sun. He can curtain the sky. He can shape it like clay and play with it.
That's how he can shape his own wings. They don't fly tho.
Nico can touch others' shadows. Like. It's weird.
Nico visits Nyx's mansion sometimes, just because Erebus has his sudden nostalgic episodes and he likes to pull Nico into the nearest shadow and brings him to Nyx's place without a warning. It freaks Nico out, kind of, and he hasn't yet mastered how to entertain Nyx, but he keeps trying anyway.
Erebus does, in fact, shadow-travel Nico to different places whenever he likes just because he likes to. The shadows just curl themselves around Nico's ankles and tug at his wrists and whoosh! He's gone.
Hades doesn't like that. Nico tries his best to convince him not to worry. He has faith in his primordial friend.
When Nico's in one of his moods, Erebus manifests as Bianca - just a faceless, soundless shadow, nothing more - to comfort him. Sometimes it's Maria. Sometimes funny animals and characters. Just trying to cheer him up.
Nico can't hear their voices, can't see their faces - but the feelings are what matters.
When Nico sleeps, the darkness pools around him. It looks like he's lying on a black puddle with an equally black blanket, while in fact, he doesn't.
Nico can see in the dark. He closes his eyes and the darkness would show him the shapes and sizes of whatever they're engulfing, like a 3D map. He can't see colors though.
Nico's hair looks longer than it actually is due to the shadows clinging to it.
He can dissolve into the dark. Like. Literally. If it's dark enough, his body can switch into an incorporeal state in which it feels like... well, a ghost. As in: you can still see him, but you can't touch him. If you thrust your hand into his chest, it would just go right through his body as if he isn't there. Like touching air. Fleeting shades.
That's enough for now... I guess LOL. I'd probably come up with whatever later, but I'm getting old and my back is protesting again so... I hope you enjoy this!! xD Erebus!Nico my religion

I have a vision and that vision is thus
So once a year, on the anniversary of their death, Harry summons their loved ones - Bruce's parents, his parents and Dick's parents.
They all come back wearing what they died in, untarnished, but after the first time, realizing they have 24 hours, they either keep clothes sized to them at their respective son's house or they borrow.
(also they wear whatever they like in the afterlife but that doesn't transfer to the living world unless they become full ghosts)
Thomas borrows Bruce's clothes - turtlenecks, tshirts, slacks - and is low key delighted that Bruce's clothes are big on him. Also uses it to check if Bruce is eating right. Aside from that he wears his old clothes Alfred kept.
Martha borrows from everyone. Leggings from Harry or Harper or Cass. A shirt from Bruce or Dick or Jason or Tom or Damian (once he's big enough) or one of Harry's flannel shirts. Steals socks from Tim or Terry or Conner and grabs accessories from Cullen and lets Lilith play in her hair. She just likes wearing things from her family okay?
Mary wears Nightwing or Robin merch Dick has bought in her size. She still steals Dicks jackets though and occasionally Tom's bootleg Hogwarts Alum hoodies. Is really fond of charm necklaces and bangle bracelets that she can wear now since she isn't a performer anymore. You can always find her because she makes noise with every step.
John is pretty chill with wearing whatever so he just borrows clothes from Dick's closet but tries to find the most brainrot thing in Dick's closet to wear to try and embarrass Dick (it never works). Prefers hoodies but will wear a crop top and shorts to Mary's obvious delight.
Lily is similar to Martha where she borrows clothes from the kids or her son in law but 9 out of 10 she is wearing a band t shirt (this is usually Bruce's but occasionally Jason), a flannel shirt around her hips (Harry's but sometimes Harper), a pair of ripped jeans Tim got for her and some converse (bought by Cullen). Simple girl with simple tastes. Sometimes she convinces Harry to turn his hair red and they go as siblings around Gotham.
James usually wears whoever clothes fit him so usually Tim, Cass, Cullen, Harry and funnily, Conner. So he's all over the place in terms of style. Sometimes he's wearing jeans and dress shoes and sometimes he's wearing a floofy yellow dress with a leather jacket and trainers. His personal style is closer to Conner's but he's pretty cool about wearing anything because, direct quote "I look pretty in everything".
(Bonus: When Harry can finally summon Sirius, he wears mostly Conner's clothes even though they are way too big on him much to Conner's delight)
(Bonus Bonus: Harry can only summon Kal's parents once every few years since Krypton time and Earth time syncs like that. When summoned, they stay for a week and Kal's mother wears either Lois' clothes or Ma Kent's overalls. No in-between with her. Kal's dad wears Clark's clothes, usually his casual wear because it feels nice.)

iiiiif youre interested in sharing more i would also love to know more about Ghosts of Gotham!
Tumblr media
I was HOPING SOMEONE WOULD ASK ABOUT THIS ONE HELL YEAH
Okay SO I haven't gotten a chance to talk about this one at all but basically it's an AU where Jason and Tim can't die.
TW for suicidal behavior before I get into it.
This one is going to be DARK. Jason can't die and he thinks it's because of the Lazarus pit, until Titans Tower. In this AU, he kills Tim in the tower.
And then he finds out Tim is still alive. Neither of them talk about it, and Jason starts to think that maybe it was just a coincidence?
Until Battle for the Cowl, when he kills Tim again and finds out Tim really can't die. Tim only realizes he can't die after this, on his Brucequest.
After things from that settle, Jason is on some case and Tim is on the same case, and as Jason is about to kill someone Tim needs alive, he throws himself in front of the bullet. It kills him.
Except it doesn't. They are both deeply psychologically unwell in this one, and have been occasionally causing their own deaths when they start to question whether or not they're really alive, because they've felt themselves die before. On top of that, rumors have been circulating about them essentially being ghosts or phantoms because people have seen them die and death doesn't stick and sometimes they start to believe it, thus Ghosts of Gotham.
They also are the only people who understand each other, so they end up leaning on each other in those moments and eventually end up sleeping together because they need the other one to know they're real. Something something dying is the only way they know they were alive in the first place.
Ugh its gonna be so messed up, akin to the way You Hear His Voice Once and Know It Again was! I hope you enjoy it when I get around to writing it 💕
Thank you for sending me another ask Bean!!! I'm currently answering this from the breakroom at work so for anyone who requested more about another WIP, I'm going to get to those sometime tonight probably!! 💕💕💕

Okay and this ask is where I'm going to ramble about the package deal Jace&Rael
Technically two people in one body, but the soul of the original inhabitant willingly let an eldritch creature kill and take over him, neither of them actually expecting him to stick around as a spirit after the event.
Jace (real name Jason that no one calls him besides Rael (at first, until they got close enough for him to feel comfortable using the nickname)), was a down-on-his-luck individual who felt that he was at a dead ends in his life, with no one to become suspicious if 'Jace' completely changed personality one day, who now finds himself as an intangible poltergeist and a passive observer to Rael, the Hijacker who he offered his body to, attempting to live as a human.
Jace, as a human, was relatively glum and purposeless. He finds being a ghost far more fun, with his personality becoming closer to what it had been prior to his melancholy; mischievous, biting and teetering on the edge of being a tad too mean, sometimes, with his jokes and pranks on the people who can't see him. All of which collapses completely into a lightbulb-blowing, object flying poltergeist freakout if he thinks their mutual existence is about to be discovered. He doesn't want to die again, thanks.
Rael, was not expecting his first interaction with one of these humans to be it offering itself to him as use of a vessel, in fact, he's pretty sure they might just be the first and only example of a consensual pact between a Hijacker and a human, thus neither of them have any idea of how their weird co-existence is going to pan out, or if they have any sort of time limit before their pact inevitably falls into Revolt. He's gotten used to tuning out Jace's snarky commentary, but his general lack of 'Humanness' knowledge (in his words, not Jace's), leads to him coming across as somewhat unsure and shy to strangers, who has weird things happening around him sometimes (they're pretty sure it's nothing paranormal, though, Rael never seems bothered by it after all).
Rael uses his own name instead of Jace's, since (according to Jace, anyway) there's no one left who remembers Jace exists, so it's easier for Rael to use his than risk messing up by trying to remember to go by Jace's name.
And yes. These two are romantically involved. It's complicated and depending on which one is giving the explanation it ranges from being described as 'Complicated' (Rael) to 'A really complex form of pseudo-selfcest but also kinda not' (Jace).
