k and jammer are on opposite sides of the spectrum but you can feel the support and the security they have in each other. jammer is a leader, he brings them together, k is a networker, they keep them together. they are a well-oiled machine and a god damn pair and the most queer platonic thing in the world imo

sam and jammer are the best of friends, a bond unbroken since the day they locked eyes with each other. the unbridled trust and admiration that permeates the air when they look at each other is unmatched. to look the panic of flashing red lights in the face and decide to go get a fucking salad with each other instead.

evan and jammer are a bromance that is completely platonic if you do not think too hard about it, if you do not notice the way evan softens when jammer looks him in the eye, the tension that only jammer seems to be able to release from evan's shoulders, the way that jammer seems to always go the extra mile and then one more for evan. devotion in it's purest form.

k and evan are a bond forged in blood. they are in love and there is nothing either of them can do about it, to make up for the complication, the resentment and the bitter feelings, they bicker and mock each other, but there was no hesitation behind slaughtering the woman who dared lay a hand on k. there is never any hesitation when k leaps to heal evan's injuries. they are unhealthy and deeply flawed and both far too prideful to admit so

evan and sam are the knight and her steed. i will ride you into war. i will protect you with my body, and when you fall, i'll fall with you. i will be your sword, your protector, and if i cannot be that, i will be your shield. a love so strong and blossoming that it activates the most basic instincts in the mind. protect, nurture, shield, defend. evan would follow sam into hell. sam HAS followed evan into hell.

sam and k. sappho and her friend. i'm not sorry to say it. they were girls together, they grew together, watched each other blossom into adults and mold the world into something they could take. of course they love each other, in a way that is deep and yearning. each reassuring look thrown k's way, each happy squeal shared between pink pals, is code for "i need you, i love you."

I know that a lot of s1 was revolving around Evans possession, but come on, it's so frustrating to see almost every post about magical misfits be about "evan and _". K and Sam are literally childhood friends! Jammer watches Sams streams!

i promise that if you explore other dynamics within the party, their bonds with Evan are not gonna disappear.

I am home now, I can finally decompress and talk about tonight's episode. I'm going to start with Sam because, she's my girl and then next I'll do Jammer. And yes I'm going to talk about Sam x Evan, if you don't like that I can't help you.

This is the first time, in a hot minute, we've addressed Sam's identity issue. Her lack of real connections outside of her friend base. There's something about that that is worrisome. Everyone has their connections now K has the wolf, Jammer has the fire salamander, Evan has the Bear. We could assume that Sam's is going to be the bat or maybe the goat. What worries me, is that the implications of the next episode, from the misleading trailer at the end. Shows that its going to be about the sea creature and trying to ecaspe that. I have this feeling that something bad's going to happen involving Sam. I could be picking up on nothing but the Vibes Feel off. I feel like that phone scene was just a step.

I feel like we're going to have more scenes, of this lack of connection happening. We have 3 eps left, that just enough time for something to go horribly wrong. Especially with Sam being the heart of the group.

The reason why it weighing on me is because- Sam needed someone outside the group to check on her a few eps back. It was right after Evan killed B. I feel like her friendships are going to come into questions because- How much of her friendship does she believe they love her for her. Evan and her have been having a lot of hearts to hearts. An just like how evan broken down an express those complicated emotions when Jammer got his magical connections.

I can see Sam having a moment where this darkness in her heart. This lack of community comes and tries to swallow her and her connections.

Now onto SamEvan or EvanSam- listen idc if it meant to be friend coded or not. If Sam and Evan do kiss im breaking into the drop off studio dome and stealing tabby. The tension between them is insane!!

It feels like Evan is one minute, alway from decalring his fucking knight like devotion to Sam. EVERYTIME they have a heart to heart, Evan gives off the vibe that he wants to say 'I would kill so many people for you.'

I DONT KNOW WHAT IT IS!!! ITS LIKE CRACK!!! PUMPED DIRECTLY INTO MY VIENS!! I dont even know how a relationship between Sam and Evan would work!? Sam and Evan have the most shittist relationship tracklist. It feels like they could either be the 'we dated for like a week but it fwkt better as friends' type or the 'we've been so casual about our relationship, moved in together and live this very domesticated life even though we arent actually married.'

It also doesnt help Aabira and Erika are bother just as bad as me, their facial jounery gets me acting crazy!!

I just want Sam to get everything, she needs and wants.

Anyway it's not my otp but I think Sam x Evan would be fun because I keep picturing Sam being the very famous very beloved host of a TV show that is internationally acclaimed and the obssession her fans would have with the fact that she's dating Evan, who to them is 'just a dude'.

I think Evan would see Sam's fans call him boring but nice enough and speculate why Sam broke up with Timothee Chalamet to date a nobody, and be so stunned that such a large number of people could be aware of his existence and have the prevailing opinion that's he completely uninteresting that he may start crying tears of joy.

I think that Evan would take Sam seriously, because he's fundamentally aware of how capable Sam is, and more importantly of how afraid and aware she is that other people don't. Evan wouldn't let thoughtless or intentionally rude/snarky comments about Sam slide regardless of what setting they were in, and this would be good for Sam because she has someone to back her up and remind her those people are being shitty to her. (This would also endear a large part of her fanbase to Evan).

Also I'm still of the opinion that Sam and K dated before Gowpenny so I think it's absolutely very funny and in keeping with my own queer friend groups to think of one person's exes starting to date each other but also that person's current dynamic with each ex are wildly different.

And finally, I think Jammer would be extremely glad that he is not involved in any of that but he would send Evan all the funniest memes Sam's fans make about her boring af boytoy and listen to K panic about what to get their exes for Christmas.

Everyone’s allowed to feel how they feel about K. You do not HAVE to like K. K is an imagination people and does not matter compared to reality people.

The actual problems that I think all this discourse is stemming from is a problem in not just fandom here but in fandom as a whole. It’s a problem of trends: Why is our attention so frequently held by the masculine and white? Why, when we expand the world and look into the interiority of side characters, is our focus so targeted on white men? Why are women so overlooked, why are people of color so often ignored?

This is a wider issue. A trickling down of real world racism affecting our little play spaces. And the problem is that an issue which appears in larger trends, an issue that is a general pattern of behavior, is not easy to fix. We can’t fix this by harassing individual people. We can’t fix this by ignoring it. We definitely can’t fix it by pretending like its a problem here and only here rather than everywhere.

I wouldn’t be so bitter about K and dislike of K if I wasn’t overly sensitive to the idea of POC and femme characters getting the short end of the stick. I wouldn’t be so apprehensive about SamEvan, which is a frankly adorable and lovely ship, if I could trust people in general to act right about black women. I wouldn’t be so mad when people call Jammer and his friends rude while ignoring anything Evan did if I hadn’t seen it as the start of a malicious pattern.

If I hadn’t been in fandoms where every single woman got called a Hideous Bitch and every single person of color was Secretly Evil then I wouldn’t even be posting this. If I hadn’t seen people latch onto men with three lines and refuse to even consider thinking about women with entire arcs, I wouldn’t care about the lack of K posts. It would just be opinion. But it’s not just opinion when it happens over and over again to the same kinds of characters every time.

I don’t think it’s that bad in the mismag fandom. I don’t WANT it to get that bad here. But I don’t know how else to stop it, so I type up little confessions, and I hope someone reads them and thinks about this shit a little bit before they post.

I think people should calm down and stop insulting each other. I think people should take a break, if they need one, from fandom. I think people should leave each other alone and quit passive aggressively throwing ‘shade’ at opinions they don’t like because there is NOTHING wrong with individual opinion. There IS something wrong with the pattern its a part of but you can’t blame a person for a pattern you see in them or else you’ll end up snapping at a monster that isn’t even there yet.

Most of what I want is for people to think about how they think. Nobody has to stop liking Evan (ofc) but it is and should be concerning that even in this relatively progressive space, I keep seeing the same patterns creep their subtle and insidious way into the things I love.

I think we can all do better than this. I think we can do much better. I think we deserve better, all of us, than all of this.

The chauffeur awaited you in the driveway, a brief sense of unease flickering within you, but you quickly dismissed it. Perhaps it was simply the excitement of wedding preparations. You scrutinized the chauffeur, noting his unfamiliarity—he must be new, as you had never seen him on duty before. A young man, probably around H/N’s age, stood next to the car. It seemed H/N had neglected to inform you of the new hire. It must have slipped his mind with the stress he was under at the moment.

"Good morning, Miss Y/N. I’m Jun Ho, your new chauffeur. It is a great pleasure to be of service."

"Good morning, Jun Ho-ssi. Nice to meet you. Thank you for taking on this duty," you greeted him friendly.

He gave you a charming smile. "It's true what they say. You look stunning. Forgive my boldness, but I couldn't help but say it."

"Is he flirting with his boss’s fiancée?" you thought.

Up close, he was quite handsome and had a way about him that was undeniably captivating. But no one could compare to your fiancé. He'd made that abundantly clear this morning. A slight blush came to your face at the memory. You cleared your throat and returned to your thoughts.

"Ah, thank you for the compliment," you replied, a little embarrassed. "Let’s get going."

Climbing into the car, you sensed a hurried energy as the chauffeur swiftly closed your door, took his place behind the wheel, and sped off.

"Jun Ho-ssi, where are you taking me? You departed without confirming the destination," you remarked, suspicion tingeing your tone.

"Apologies, Miss Y/N. Mr. H/N has already provided me with your instructions," Jun Ho responded, his explanation failing to fully ease your doubts.

"I see. That’s H/N, always one step ahead."

"Yes, he’s such an intelligent man. I’m going to learn a lot from him." He smiled while looking at the road ahead.

You were so busy reading your messages and emails that you didn’t pay much attention to the route. On your way to the city center, you saw familiar buildings passing by.

Only when it was time to arrive did you look out of the car window.

Your stomach churned as you realized he had veered off the intended route. Initially, he had followed the road towards the city center as planned but then abruptly veered into a parallel street. Sensing something amiss, you discreetly pulled out your cell phone and began composing a text to H/N to inquire about the new driver.

"You can save yourself the trouble," the driver interjected gruffly, his eyes meeting yours through the rear-view mirror.

"What do you mean?" you responded, trying to conceal your growing unease.

"You took a wrong turn, by the way," you added, attempting to divert attention.

"No, I didn't. We're headed in the right direction. And about your cell phone..." His voice trailed off as he pointedly informed you, "There's a jammer in the car. Your phone won't work here. Check for yourself."

Your gaze flicked to your phone's display, confirming his words. The message to H/N remained unsent. He must have turned it on recently to avoid arousing your suspicions. "Don't worry," you reassured yourself, relying on the tracker nestled within your necklace. "H/N will find you."

"Jun Ho-ssi, what is this about? Where are you taking me?" you demanded, your tone laced with frustration and fear. Your heart pounded in your chest as you tried to maintain your composure.

"You'll find out soon enough," he replied with a smug grin that only fueled your anger. Gone was the charming chauffeur. Now he showed his true identity.

"H/N and his team are going to search for me. They’ll find me. This won’t end well for you."

"Oh, I’m sure he’s gone to search for you. The question is for whom it will not end well here," he said, his eyes narrowing dangerously.

"I knew something was off when I saw you waiting in front of my house," you retorted, your voice filled with defiance. "It is not H/N's style to forget to mention something as important as a chauffeur change. My safety is his top priority."

"Smart girl," he said, smirking. "Nothing else was to be expected from the fiancée of the greatest boss."

Clenching your hands, you forced yourself to look out the window, determined to maintain a facade of composure. But deep down, you knew that your life was in grave danger.

The city dwindled behind you, replaced by a sprawling expanse of green. Forests and mountains loomed ahead.

Your mind raced with thoughts of escape. You had considered attacking him several times, but the futility of it was undeniable. He was driving at breakneck speeds, his grip on the wheel tight. Any attempt to overpower him would likely end in disaster. Your only hope was a moment of distraction, a stop that might offer a window of opportunity.

After about half an hour, the chauffeur stopped in a remote parking lot. Not a soul for miles around, no one who could be of any help to you. Exiting the car, he made his way to the trunk, but not before locking the doors, trapping you. You strained to listen, hoping he would make a phone call to explain the situation. But there was no such indication. With a loud bang, he closed the trunk and returned to your side, his face a mask of cold indifference.

"Princess," he sneered mockingly, thrusting a bottle of water towards you. "Here's something for you to drink. I've been instructed to take good care of you."

You made no move to accept the bottle, meeting his gaze with defiance. He tossed the bottle onto the seat beside you. As he was about to slam the door shut, you took the opportunity to flee. With a powerful kick against the door, you forced it open. Jun-Ho hadn't expected your attack and stumbled backward at first due to the impact.

You quickly got out of the car, ready to run for your life. Unfortunately, you were not dealing with an ordinary chauffeur but with a trained gangster.

Before you could take three steps away, he grabbed you by the arm and yanked you back, trapping you between his arms and the car. You tried to squirm away from him but without any chance. His arms on each side of you, he pressed you against the vehicle, his eyes narrowing.

You tensed up, your heart pounding in your chest. He was so close to you that you could feel his breath on your neck .You became nervous, your heart was beating wildly.

He looked at your lips and leaned forward, his breath warm against your ear. "Don't worry, princess," he whispered, his voice laced with a strange mixture of menace and charm. "I won't do anything like that to you. I have my principles. Be a good girl and get back in the car. I have other methods to make you compliant. Do you understand?"

He looked deep into your eyes, making you blush. Your heart pounded in your chest as he spoke. There was something about his gaze that was unsettling yet strangely captivating. You couldn't see the malice he was trying to portray with his behavior. Perhaps he was simply playing a role.

You nodded slowly, and he let you go. Without further ado, you got into the car, your heart still racing.

As he settled back into the driver's seat, he ordered you to drink. "Drink now, or I'll have to use force," he threatened, his dark eyes glaring at you.

"No, I'm not thirsty," you retorted, refusing to yield to his demands.

"Very well, princess. My patience is wearing thin." With a menacing gesture, he retrieved a gun from beneath the seat, aiming it at you. Fear gripped you at the sight of the weapon.

"Drink, or I'll pull the trigger," he insisted.

"You just said that you’ve been instructed to take good care of me, so you won’t do anything," you replied sassily, daring him with your gaze.

He smirked, his eyes glinting with a dangerous light. "Being all smart, are we? Try me, and you’ll find out. Now drink," he insisted, still pointing the gun at you.

Reluctantly, you grasped the bottle, suspecting foul play. Something had to be amiss with the water if he was

resorting to such coercion. With a gulp, you swallowed a mouthful, the liquid tasting normal, yet you dared not consume more.

"Satisfied?" you challenged, defiance laced in your voice.

"Very good... princess," he replied with a twisted smile.

"Go to hell! And stop calling me princess!" you spat back, throwing the bottle at the back of his seat, your anger simmering beneath the surface.

He merely chuckled in response, resuming the journey. As the car accelerated, an overwhelming fatigue washed over you. Your eyelids grew heavy, and despite your efforts, you struggled to keep them open. A strange, tingling sensation spread through your body.

"There was soporific in that water," you realized with dread, cursing your captor as consciousness slipped away and darkness engulfed you.

"There you go. Sleep well, princess," Jun Ho remarked, his eyes fixed on you through the rear-view mirror. He couldn't help but be drawn to your beauty, your spirit, his eyes lingering on your delicate features. He had never felt this way before. It was a strange and unsettling sensation.

He immediately tried to push the thought out of his mind. As he pressed down on the gas pedal, he couldn't help but feel a pang of regret.

last song: The last song I listened to period was something new Big Band-y that my partner had playing, but the last song I listened to on PURPOSE was The Highwayman by Loreena McKennitt.

last show/currently watching: Uhhhhhhhhh great question. I THINK the last thing I watched was Bridgerton, technically? But I binge things and then forget about them halfway through, so. Could have been something else.

currently reading: Mostly fanfic because my brain is fried lol, but I’m somewhere in the middle of Mortal Arts by Anna Lee Huber. I should honestly restart it.

current obsession: Danny Phantom and Batman, plus dp x dc crossovers. Would probably be more invested in sewing/cross stitch if I had more energy.

ok, no, i think my favorite thing about the magical misfits is that you can’t safely piss off any single one of them. like these motherfuckers took “you mess with the goat, you get the horns” to a whole new level.

even setting aside the fact that if you mess with one of them, you mess with all of them, who are you gonna piss off?

evan? the dude literally chock full of demons who’s packing at least three improvised weapons at any time and knows exactly where to hit you?

k? the wizard who can summon literal hordes of rats and birds to tear you to shreds while verbally eviscerating your entire life from behind one of the strongest shields you’ve seen on a school-aged kid?

sam? the girl who could probably blink and know each and every one of your insecurities ON TOP OF WHICH she’ll tilt her head and make you feel bad for attacking her in the first place?

whitney “mcrib” jammer? jammer, the guy who acts as personal coach to all of chimeron, who could absolutely body your ass wand or no, who’s probably halfway to stealing your entire squad and getting them on his team as we speak?

not to mention that even sam, who refuses to run, is in physically better shape than most of the school and all four of them could absolutely rock your world even without a wand. so go on.

Team Phantom continues to vibe. Danny pretends he is not going to be the Ghost King, even while handing out political titles to his best friends. So what! They deserve them!

HEY GANG THAT ENDING WAS INSANE!

I had to watch it twice because what the fuck! We are only on episode 2!! How much more crazier is this going to get, because Lou said it gets sad! Spoilers! Okay basically K admits that they want to reignite their relationship with Evan. Right as they lose points towards their ambition and blows Evans arm clean off. This makes me wonder if this is going to be part of K's storyline where they realize sometimes a relationship being over is okay and that a friendship is better. That that doesn't mean that you stop caring, but it's clear K is going about all it the wrong way. Evan said he was fine with his arm being the way that it was. Which shows how much K want to fit thing, they can't save everyone.

Also what is going on between Sam and Evan!? Because their relationship for whatever reason is attacking me this season!? A Sam and Evan ship has always been "hehe funny emo dude X the sunshine character". Like it wasn't a serious ship and for whatever reason it's getting real serious. If only for the sense that we are getting a lot more interactions. K get in their and hold Sam hand too-

I know the ending trailers are nothing to go by but I find it super interesting that Evan says to Sam that "I don't do you like everyone else for views you." Makes me go feral!!!

Theory Jammer going to be the next person to lose points towards his ambition. I think him being the most normal guy in the group. And wanting to be the person, that people can look up to and hold in this high regard. Something is going to break in him and it's going to make me cry. Jammer i feel like is really struggling this season. An im suffering for it!!
