There are episodes that you don’t like right away, but only after a while. And there are episodes in which you fall in love instantly and forever, like in MotOE. I've watched it many times, and every time with interest. To me this is DW at its creative peak. Brilliant stylization, an interesting idea, a unique monster of the week, a great cast and character development - all this in one complete story, where there is room for mystery, heartfelt conversations and philosophy, humor and romance. This is going to sound like a whine (and it probably is), but I really miss the kind of stylish, tense, meaningful, and emotional storytelling in modern Doctor Who. But in the end, we all have different ideas about what Doctor Who is originally, and what it should be. I'm happy that I can always rewatch my favorite episodes. And I love MotOE with all my heart.

The Doctor thwarted plans to turn him and his fellow captives into slaves and he helped the Highlanders escape to France. Before leaving he added Jamie to his companions. John will force Jamie to taste test every species, because it’s John. Fleur will shock everyone by being complete tolerant of spicy stuff, and she’ll down a ghost pepper in front of John to scare the shit out of him. Sarah is there for moral support with the milk.

The murderer will turn out to be some dude who was pressed about his friend-turned-rival stealing the fame for a new species of spicy pepper that he bred.
