Now, he may have an ego that has the size of the planet Earth, but when I tell you this boy has a BIG GOLDEN HEART, I really mean it ✋🏻

So you know how Fleamont Potter was a potioneer? And clearly an extremely talented one. My headcanon is that Euphemia was also a very talented potioneer, and that they caught Dragonpox while trying to research a cure and that's why they died. But that's not the point.

I have this headcanon that Fleamont and Euphemia were the ones who started looking into some kind of cure for Lycanthropy, and that when they passed away their notes on the subject somehow went to Damocles Belby.

James just packed away some of their potioneering material, including their notes on a Wolfsbane Potion, and gave it to Belby. He was too busy mourning to care what it all was because he'd lost both his parents so rapidly. He gave it to Belby thinking he'd find use for it or be able to continue their work. But that's not the point either.

Cuz my headcanon is that at some point, James started asking his parents about Lycanthropy, because he was "just curious, no other reason". He kept asking if there was a cure, some way to make it easier maybe, less painful, just because. But really he was asking about it because one of his closest friends was suffering, and James wanted to help so badly, but what could he do?

So motivated by their beloved son, and obviously curious by nature, the Potter’s start researching and studying, because maybe they could do something. If bones can be regrown, then maybe it was possible to also develop a potion to alleviate the symptoms of Lycanthropy as well.

But they passed away with their research incomplete, and James never knew they were looking into it, and neither did Remus, and Belby didn't say anything, whether out of selfishness or shortsightedness, who knows?

But Remus being the inspiration for the Wolfsbane Potion, and James' love for his friends being the motivator. And just. Remus never knowing how much James really loved him.

Because James wasn't just Sirius' friend. His best friend, fine. But Sirius wasn't the only one who lost James. And I don't think Remus ever would have known that James loved him so so much.

It was his idea to become Animagus so they could all be with Remus, but I'm sure Remus never really properly accepted James loved him that much. He was so scared of losing them that he never would have even acknowledged he had nothing to be scared of, because James already loved him so so much.

He really had no idea.

stumbled across a blog sharing other ppl’s fanfiction and adding AI-generated photos as “moodboards” and I just want to say - don’t do that shit! AI generated photos are unethical in a plethora of ways, and they don’t even look that good! what you could do instead is search for other people’s work to use as your inspo, and i assure you’ll find so many artists to follow and admire in the process! (of course give credit if you know the artist’s name!)

or better yet - use this opportunity to learn a new skill! you could try drawing yourself! you may not be a natural - hell, i know i’m not, but i enjoy doing it anyway! if drawing isn’t your thing, maybe take up collage or printmaking or needlepoint - there’s literally SO MANY WAYS you can create fanwork (and i’m only talking about visual artwork here! the possibilities are endless) that don’t involve just feeding a few keywords to an algorithm that’s been trained with billions of other people’s work and doesn’t engage with your sense of creativity.

Please, I beg, AI “art” is not a hobby. It’s not creative and I don’t even like to think of it as art. Literally just pick up a pencil or something.

For Spitting Image written by @charmsandtealeaves [Jily, M, Muggle AU: non-conventional family, IVF, nurse James. Multi chap. 2024].

Summary: James Potter always knew he wanted to build a family, he just hadn’t found the right person to build it with - yet. Freezing his sperm at Gringotts Sperm Bank was a no-brainer really. He’d have children when he found the right person, and now he had an insurance policy. Then Lily Evans walked into his place of work with her son - the spitting image of him.

What an opportunity to recommend not one, but two of my favorites. We got @charmsandtealeaves writing one of the most exciting stories of the year (as always!), which then inspired artwork by @constancezin. How is this fandom so lucky to have such talented people? Thank you for sharing these with us. 💗
