I’ve been obsess with this idea for a while, so I’d I’m one of the lucky Ducks … Anyone from the original AA trilogy who has the Medical Examiner as an S/O, but the medical examiner is selectively mute and prefers to talk to their deceased “patients”.

Phoenix Wright, Mia Fey, Dick Gumshoe and Jake Marshall x medical examiner S/O with selective mutism, but talk with their patients:

Phoenix Wright:

Since starting his law career (and Mia's case), Phoenix never handled the presence of dead bodies well;

Or whatever reminded him of one;

So you two rarely talked about their work;

Phoenix was one of the few people to whom they talked the most;

They felt free from all the things that blocked their voice and Phoenix quickly learned what tone of voice to use with them;

He also understands that they may have moments in which they prefer to just stay silent, even when with him;

When out with him, however, things drastically change;

They always stay close to him, let him do all the talking in every context and when people they don't know approach them and try to establish a conversation their throat tightens, they just stare and let their trembling hands talk;

All these problems, however, seem to disappear whenever they're at work, in their gown, hands tight in the gloves and religious silence;

Every day a new story, everyday a new someone to be with for hours;

Someone who doesn't talk, doesn't judge;

That's probably the reason why they find it so easy to talk with them;

It's strange, and they know it, but in some way they release all the stress in them;

Phoenix came to know when Gumshoe told him they heard them speaking inside the morgue, noticing there were just them and the "patients";

Phoenix never said anything, he tried to understand but never confronted them in a judicious, disgusted way;

He was just curious and didn't find it that strange, considering what he had been through and those around him.

Mia Fey:

Mia knew a bit of psychology, so she noticed almost immediately that they weren't able to speak in certain social contexts;

She tries to prevent them from getting into an anxious state by observing both their behavior and the people around them;

She likes to have them around when she works, so when it's sure that no one else is supposed to be in the office, they follow her and help with cases;

Mia likes to follow them to work as well, but she isn't allowed in the morgue or the laboratories, so she just waits somewhere nearby, making them know that if needed, she is in the area;

They told them about their habit, both because they wanted her to know and to ask for some advice to overcome this problem;

Surely it helped that she spoke outside the house, but maybe trying to have conversations with someone a little bit more lively would help more;

When together, Mia always tries to connect them with the outside by asking them to do something for her, if she's speaking with someone she tries to engage them too, in the conversation;

If they aren't able to do it anyway, Mia knows how to respect that and just let them interact with her.

Dick Gumshoe:

Gumshoe was always interested in their work;

He never understood a word about medicine, or anatomy, or anything of the sort;

But whenever the victims of his cases are handled by them, he makes sure to never miss a detail and if he doesn't understand, they will gladly explain to him;

However he finds it a little "strong" to be constantly inside a cold, silent room with a corpse you have to analyse in minimum details, even cut them if necessary;

Whenever they have business at the police station, he tries his best to be around them and spare them any kind of anxiety attack;

He never understood completely their difficulty with speaking in public, so sometimes he might be insensitive, but not in a malicious way;

He just doesn't get it, give him some time;

He once heard them talking to themselves when he was on his way to their "office";

But then he peeked at the door and saw they were talking while working;

Strangely, he completely got how much easier it was for them to "talk" with someone who didn't give them any kind of feedback, and thus no anxiety;

They tried to explain to him everything, so he wouldn't think badly of them;

But, sincerely, Gumshoe saw worse in his career, and as said, he didn't find that strange at all;

But probably they felt embarrassed knowing that Gumshoe knew their "habit";

So he always makes sure that whenever he wants to come visit, he warns them and doesn't burst in without them knowing.

Jake Marshall:

Jake was the one who introduced them to this work;

When they started specializing , he often posed as their professor of anything concerning the law and the investigation field;

He mostly did so whenever they had questions that couldn't bring themselves to ask his actual professors;

When they finally managed to graduate and get the job in his same division, whenever he could, he was with them;

He was always fascinated by this kind of work, so the two of them often started conversations about it;

(Mostly them explaining medical things to him, since he doesn't understand anything);

When together, he makes everything possible to keep them comfortable, but he also spurs them to overcome their anxiety, both at the office and in public;

That's because he clearly sees their difficulties in everyday life;

One day, when they were together at the morgue, he was checking some documents when he heard them talk;

He turned to answer but saw that they weren't talking to him;

Few seconds of silence before he giggled it off;

"What do they say about it?";

They shushed him and just hid their embarrassment, but at the same time were glad he didn't mock them;

If they thought talking with their patients could help, he was more than happy to leave them alone;

Even if he'll miss seeing them at work.

Boyfriend!Marshall Lee Headcanons

• Contrary to popular belief, Marshall Lee is actually a good boyfriend and treats you like a princess… but you have to squint a bit because he doesn’t directly tell you. He’ll act almost the same way he does with Fiona, but underneath that façade, he does care for you.

- (Which is very surprising to Fiona because of all the shenanigans she and Cake get into because of Marshall, but I digress).

• He is extremely flirty with you. He even likes to tease you a bit.

• He loves it whenever he gets the chance to sing to you or show one of his new songs to you. He won’t make it a bit deal and gather a crowd. He’ll keep it lowkey. Just between you two.

- If you can sing? Then by all means, PLEASE join in!

• Marshall definitely writes songs for you and about you. And if you’re comfortable, he’ll try bringing you along to every party he attends where you can watch him sing.

• Because he’s a vampire, he is more active during the night. So, expect him to try and bother you (with the best intentions) in the dead of the night.

• When you go out on dates, don’t you dare touch his french fries! You already saw how badly that went with his mom.

• He won’t admit that he loves physical touch and I feel like that’s his top love language. So, whenever you get the chance to hold him or cuddle him? He is as happy as he can be. :))

• He would try and play pranks on you.

- And fail because you know him like the back of your hand.

- The aftermath would be very awkward. Marshall would just be standing there like: 0-0;;.

• This man showers you in compliments whenever and wherever he can!

• He loves watching movies at his place with you in pajamas.

- Would love it if both of you even wore matching ones. It would be so cute! 😭

Adventure time Headcanons :D

This includes Fionna and Cake btw

Marceline, Betty and Fionna are big ol Mitski fangirls.

Finn sometimes reads comics in bushes when he wants to be alone.

PB likes aggressively complimenting ppl in German and people think that she's insulting them.

Marceline isn't very good at painting nails but she taught Finn how to paint nails and now he can do them perfectly.

Marceline and Finn both have abandonment issues.

Jake and Prismo smoke weed together. Jake never smokes it around Finn because he hates the smell.

Gary writes stories about the people in his fake candy kingdom and has a dedicated fanbase on Ao3.

Jermaine hates musicals.

Jake and Ladyrainicorn write songs about each other.

Flame Princess and Finn tried going out one more time as adults, it lasted like 2 weeks.

PB did Finn's top surgery and made his testosterone pills.

Finn only has fake flowers/plants in his house cause he can't deal with seeing them die.

BMO has gotten into month long games of hide and seek with Neptr.

Finn has accidentally been a third wheel on PB and Marceline's dates and not noticed.

Fionna had a sister named Jackie, I say 'had' because she died. She also had two adopted Parents.

Marshall Lee has organized a bunch of protests.

Finn and Jake have a really organized schedule on what days they have to fight people.

Marceline cries easier than Pb.

Cake and Fionna help each other write fanfiction.

Simon and Marceline go on outings to catch up like once a month.

Flame Princess would use SoundCloud to show off her rap songs.

Fern likes mystery shows and books.

BMO makes Jake watch a bunch of cartoons with them.

Fionna used to get into a bunch of fights when she was in school.

Finn's coping mechanisms got 10x worse when Jake died.

Fionna used to say a bunch of Finn's weird slang but stopped cause people thought it was weird.

Fionna had a crush on Gary for a bit then realized he was gay. She still cringes about it.

PB and Shelby sometimes chat over lunch.

PB says she doesn't like gossip but never stops Marceline from telling her all of it.

Lsp and Marceline have blown up multiple cars.

Scarab is really good at organizing stuff.

Simon has to constantly find out about the stuff he did as Ice king from random people and constantly apologizes for it.

jake seems like a laid back guy, who doesn't care about much, but this is just how he presents himself

he actually cares a lot, about the people he loves and especially you!

he's a very determined and caring person, but you're one of the few people who actually gets to see this side of him

after the loss of his brother, he doesn't want to lose anyone else, which leads to him being a overprotective of you, always having an eye on you, just to be sure

while jake seems very calm, he can get really upset, if you put yourself in danger. he lashes out at you, for being so reckless and careless, only to quickly feel bad for yelling at you

he doesn't want to lose you! he's so desperate to keep you safe, that sometimes his emotions just get the better of him

he always apologizes right after and you can always see he's genuine! he's been through a lot and those wounds just haven't properly healed yet…

jake isn't a good cook, so he can only really make rice and pasta, with some premade sauces. so most of the time, the two of you get take out for lunch and dinner!

you occasionally visit jake at work, bringing along some sandwiches or a bento box you made!

while at work, he always shows you around and he'll let you wear his cowboy hat, as he just loves how it looks on you!

Marshall liked scaring your sisters. He found it quite funny, every time he was sure that there were only two of them, until one night he saw you. From a distance, he mistook you for Fionna and was surprised that instead of the usual sword, she used a bow and magic arrows. He had never seen her with such a weapon and went to her to find out the reason for such an unexpected change. It wasn't until he got closer that he realized it wasn't Fionna. You looked a lot like her, but there were small details that could only be seen up close, or in the light of day. Different clothes, slightly different hairstyle. You dealt with your opponents without any problems and only then noticed him. Marshall expected you to mistake him for an enemy, but you didn't. You looked at him with a slight frown and then asked him if he was the one who was scaring your sisters. After receiving his confirmation, you nodded in satisfaction and introduced yourself. You were Fionna's twin sister, and that explained your similarities

You weren't home that often, but you really loved your sisters. Every time you were at home and Marshall came to you, he paid a lot of attention to you. You were interesting and he liked talking to you. He'd be lying if he said he hadn't started having certain feelings for you that he didn't have for Fionna. And it was obvious to your sisters. But unlike Fionna, you didn't seem to notice much about his feelings for you. You weren't scared when he was playing pranks on you, you traveled a lot and he visited you on your travels when he was nearby. You didn't mind his company at all, treating him like your sister's friend. Sometimes he would bring you a snack after learning from Fionna that you particularly enjoyed eating. Looking at your smile, he couldn't help but smile back. Sometimes he even invited you to his concerts, and when you went there, Marshall's grin widened when he saw you in the audience

When he came to your house one night, he found you there. Your sisters were asleep, and you were sitting in the living room making arrows. You didn't mind him sitting with you as long as he didn't bother your sisters. Marshall watched you making arrows and asked why you were doing it. You told him that you didn't like using a sword unlike your sister, so you decided to use a bow and arrow, but simple arrows weren't very useful when it came to opponents like ice golems. That's why you started making arrows filled with magic. You told him with a smile about how you experimented with different materials, some of which you bought and some of which you found on your travels. You talked about it with a twinkle in your eyes, and the longer he listened to you, the more he realized that you really liked it

Sometimes he brought you various magical things. He liked to see you smile when you got the chance to try to create new arrows. You didn't always succeed, but you thanked him for the gifts anyway. Marshall was thinking of something else he could please you with. He really wanted to show you the feelings he had for you, but you didn't see his feelings. But that didn't mean he was going to give up. Marshall would unobtrusively find out from your sisters what you liked, and when he was composing new songs, he would unconsciously remember you and the lines he wrote looked like he was dedicating these songs to you. He wasn't going to show these lines to anyone, much less sing them, so he hid them in his house

Marshall was flirting with you, but you didn't take him seriously, remembering your twin sister's stories about him flirting with her. He never thought that it would have such consequences. But he was determined. He had a lot of time to prove to you that his feelings for you were real, serious. Much more serious than he had thought when he first realized them

• Simon adopts Astrid as his own daughter and they used to make stories together

• Marceline invites Simon at her wedding with PB

• Simon renovating next beside to Astrid's house

• Simon will tell everything about his adventures with Fionna and Cake to Adult Finn, PB and Marceline (and they couldn't believe Simon what he has been trying to say)

• Fionna is having a long distance relationship with Simon or become as Pen Pals via texting with interdimensional phones (and thru telepathy); Simon realized that having a long distance with somebody wasn't so bad in order to stop being so clingy like he's always clinging into Betty before and they gotta rather enjoy themselves living their best lives

• DJ Flame got Female Fern pregnant

• Marshall Lee always buys Ice Cream Lady's ice creams

• Gary plays sudoku, othello, chess, snakes and ladders like any board games with Beatrice Butler at the Buttery Buns Bakery

• Gary and Marshall share beds and clothes together

• Cake and the Flying Squirrel hang out frequently

• Human Monochromicorn likes to pet Cake everytime Fionna and Cake visits at the Candy Store

• Minerva helped Simon checking is health daily then scanning throughout his mind and analyze the magic created along what's inside with a universe of F&C

Praying to God that Fionna and Cake will gonna have a season 2 or more seasons to come because there's alot of cliffhangers and feel this story isn't clearly done. It's just the end of one character arc within Simon.

SO- THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING ME SINCE I FIRST GOT INTO ACE ATTORNEY! You probs know me for the real angsty/spoiler-related art, BUT also a good bit of my shipping art! Notably Narumitsu because of course, but I’ve also drawn Asoryuu and a few Claypollo sketches that I don’t think I’ve posted here yet now that I think about it-

HOWEVER!!!

Recently my friends are streaming us playing AA1-5 or Rise from the Ashes (*cough cough* here’s the plug come check us out we stream AA on Saturday evenings usually around 8 PM CST *cough cough*), and we started really expanding onto bits particularly around Jake Marshall, you know him, the police officer who screams Texan cowboy but is actually from West LA. I personally never thought much of Jake when I played RftA for the first time almost 5 years ago now, but MAN we were putting so much extra headcanon/lore stuff on him that he’s grown into an almost immediate favorite despite only seeing him for one session. Some bits include:

- He has a nut allergy

- He’s trans

- He takes his testosterone through his flask

- He has a horse named Pistachio who holds Jake’s epipen and can shoot a gun with her mouth

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY-

MARSHOE

THAT’S RIGHT, WE NOW HAVE A CRACKSHIP AMONGST OUR MIDST- AND I NEED YOU ALL TO HEAR US OUT ON THEM!! Two people in the force who do canonically know about each other and have implied-interactions??? Plus I think they’d be INCREDIBLY silly together, why not?! Please indulge in the sillies with us, this isn’t anything super serious, it is a crackship after all! But as someone who has been a hardcore fan of the series for a little over 5 years now, I think it’s super fun! Honestly kinda boggles my mind in the almost 20 years since RftA I’ve never seen art or fics of these two together either. So I’m contributing dang it!!! HERE’S MARSHOE, ENJOY SOME OTHER SKETCHES!!

Ouugghhg this is a tough one I haven’t really thought about it,,,,, uhm let me see..

I think that they probably had a Texan relative that they looked up to when younger which led to their obsession with the Wild West and such,,, or they watched too many cowboy movies…. Or both. Jake probably got his knife from that relative and he cherishes it dearly because it’s “authentic from Texas” or something stupid like that..

Theatre kid Neil..?

I can also see them learning some type of martial arts as kids,, maybe taekwondo.

I like to think Neil is allergic to a lot of things like cats and dust but it’s only a mild allergy so it’s just kind of an inconvenience. Jake probably has a pretty strong immune system and no allergies,,

Neither can cook,, Neil can make a pretty mean Mac and cheese or grilled cheese idk something with cheese.. also he likes Old Forrester because I said so.

Jake keeps Neil’s hat in his room on a coat hanger and talks to it sometimes kind of like when people talk to themselves when alone. Idk he never got to properly grieve Neil’s death,, he never got closure😢 he needs therapy or to talk to someone

Zippy is probably a motorcycle I can’t see Jake operating a car.

Jake never gets Billy back 😢

My first impression - OMG A HUSKY SHE'S A HUSKY I LOVE HUSKIES

My impression now - THE LOVELIEST HUSKY EVER I LOVE HER SO MUCH

Favorite thing about that character - Look, I know all (or most) pups are always ready to help, BUT HER EAGERNESS for it is just absolutely contagious

Least favorite thing - I don't have a least favorite thing, unless we can count the fact she should show up for more episodes or the fact most of her toys are ugly or lazily made/painted as hell and she doesn't deserve any of that crap. She's amazing. Next question.

Favorite line/scene - Spent several days and didn't come up with anything for this.

Favorite interaction that character has with another - Ouch this one is hard. But I like her interactions with Marshall and Rubble the most.

A character that I wish that character would interact with more - Ryder! She should get more time with him, to bond with him as well, after all he's the one giving her orders and directions during rescues...

Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character - Balto. This one was hard, I didn't want to pick him just because "Oh, both are sled dogs", but after several days trying to think of other characters... In the end, it's Balto anyway. Both are very gentle and enthusiastic, both are always eager to help, no matter the weather they'll be there. I have the feeling if she would ever be able to meet him, she would be thrilled and very inspired by him and his stories.

A headcanon about that character - I got this headcanon that she had a previous owner but got lost during a very bad snowstorm on their vacation trip to the South Pole. When the rescue team arrived, she was still lost and the family had to leave without her. They couldn't afford another trip there after that and she had to fend for herself until she met Jake and later the Paw Patrol, getting adopted by Jake and going to live with him.

A song that reminds of that character - "Snow Town"

Favorite picture - Something I really like about Everest is how fearless she is towards animals others would usually fear, and how gentle and caring she is, making them feel safe around her. This is one of the pics I like the most, because it shows just that.
