anyways this is about jake's relationships with daisy and drew, and even tho how they both did similar things for him, they both see him as two very different people.

daisy was the very first person to encourage jake/support him when everyone else only pushed him down, as seen in the ep 10 middle school flashback. despite that, he still struggles to confess/express his feelings to her, for whatever reason (jake self-worth issues fuck yeah). but he knows that she thinks of him in a certain way - a good guy that was bullied in the past bc of his love of singing but has now made friends and not given up on his passion, even if he doesn't do it openly - and because of that, he does not tell her something important: that he grew up to become a bully to the music club, making him exactly like his old bullies.

on the flip side, drew was jake's first friend and pulled jake out of a bad spot. despite that, jake cannot tell drew the truth about his passion because he fears that drew wouldn't like him anymore (again, jake self-worth issues fuck yeah). but jake is also aware that drew thinks of him in a certain way - a cool guy who picks on other people just for the hell of it - and because of that, he doesn't tell drew something important: that he's always had a passion for music, and it's something he wants to pursue, making him exactly like the people he bullies.

sooo yeah. daisy and drew both did the same thing: help jake and get him out of the situation he was in in middle school. despite that, they see him almost completely differently, and idk i just think that's interesting

OMG.

I CANT BELIEVE WE GOT A SEASON 2?! OMG IM READY YALL.

ANYWAYS- I think some major stuff will go down in season 2. Such as getting to know Max, (I think he is jakes long time friend or ex bully) some ships being canon, and even more drama happening. I believe drew will make a comeback and maybe more antagonists will be back (such as jakes past bullies, zoey making her comeback, or maybe getting a new antagonist, etc.) As for the ships, Its more likely that Jailey or Jaisy will sail, As both (maybe jailey) of them are semi-canon, Maybe drake will reach up or reconcile, but won't be the same as it used to be. I assume season 2 will come in 1-2 years, as rosy will need to get her health and energy up because of the time it took the s1 finale to get completed. Though- Im so excited for season 2 and yeah- off my way to read fanfics or rewatch s1 finale again lololol

Rating tmf ships but I come up with the wackiest rating systems because im insane

jailey - one if you cant look at the crowd look at me okay out of two princess stickers

Classic. It's not one of my favorites but defienetly in the A category. They have a good buildup and great chemistry. I think nobody would argue against that they're probably going to be endgame and I'm fine with that.

jaisy - twelve pink hearts out of two childhood friends

They're one of my favorites. Daisy's always there for Jake and Jake is always so kind to her. I wish we could have seen Jake being there for Daisy with her problems as well but Sean slid in there(not really complaining but alas). I really hope we see more progress in their relationship in season 2 although I think season 2 will be focusing more on jailey.

I dont find them as appealing as other ships but defienetly not my least favorite either. They're cute. I guess. Not much to say tbh I havent really thought about how a romantic dynamic would be between them.

jander - one hear me out out of hate isn't strong enough of a word

I havent really interacted with the tmf fandom much so idk how ya'll treat non canon ships that arent drake but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say I like this ship. I also love lander ofc and thats the beauty of multishipping. But yeah I think jander is nice. B tier imo.

jia - 8.5/13

Ahhhhhhhhhhh. The sweet scent of unrequited love. I'm not that much of a big fan of them but I like the angst. Also they look good together lol.

drake - endless thoughts of what could have been out of its as if we never were

I'm afraid it was never casual guys. But jokes aside, Drew paralelling the people that canonically have a crush on Jake(or do in subtext) is just so dear to me. Like yesss feedmy delusions. I love the concept of unrequited love on Drew's end and Jake having no idea until it's too late. ("I'm not in love with you anymore." "I didnt know you ever were") They have so much capacity for angst and I love that.

drakailey - boaf? Boaf out of HEAR ME OUTT

Guys hear me out. Can't decide between Drake and Jailey? Have them both. But honestly I really like this ship. It's a fun dynamic to think about what can I say. Also they need more content tmf fandom I am begging you.

Lander - 10/10

I saw an edit of them that was Zander saying how he's "not like Stacy yknow" and Luke was like "Yes, and?" and I think that's beautiful. Their relationship is nicely balanced and healthy. I just wish the fandom would stop making Luke Zander's parent, always telling him to "calm down". They're widely mischaracterised in the fandom which Zander really isn't that hard to mischaracterise so idek how yall do that...

Milliot - how does this work out of one cactus with flowers

Don't get me wrong, I like them. I really liked them when they were first introduced and I am really glad they got a bit more fleshed out in the spin off. I really liked Elliot's character. What confuses me is that I'm usually not a huge fan of the nerd x troublemaker trope. But they work because Milly's not an asshole to other people (Except zoey but she highkey deserves it sooo)

Droey - three sappy nicknames out of fifteen "busy weekends"

I don't. Like this ship. No matter how much I dislike(half true) Drew nobody deserves to get cheated on. Zoey's an immature girl and she really needs to grow up (side eyes the jomies cameo in the spinoff). I know a particular of the fandom likes to make them be in sort of a "lavender relationship" and I'm not really against that I'm just talking about their canon selves.

Dria - we got rejected by jake out of pretty girls walk like this (if somebody understands the references I'm making I'm kissing you)

I meaannnnn... I just don't think Drew would go after his cheating ex's ex best friend. Now that I put it like that it doesn't sound too bad... I'm not opposed to it but I wouldn't really go out of my way to look up content for them.

I'm really not sure about this yall. Not a big fan of it though. I guess I could say I'm neutral.

Thoughts on jaisy: Its so…oh my god i love them. If they got together in the canon, i dont think i’d be the least bit upset. Probably the only ‘boy had crush on girl which manages to start the entire series plot’ ship I actually like. Love them sm forever

argh… rewatched the old vs. new loved with your love comparison video, and i think this change means a whole lot more now that we’ve gotten episode 10 and know just what it is that made jake like daisy:

in the new one, daisy runs up from behind him rather than from his front. jake’s thrown his past behind him - not exactly moving on, nor confronting it - except for daisy. she’s the one good thing that’s come out of it (literally); catching up to him! running to him, following him and bringing light to his darkness, of her own volition.

she has his back, and has always been one of his biggest supporters from the very beginning. when nobody cared for jake in middle school, she did: she noticed him sometimes, and became concerned - to the point of seeking him out - when he threw away something she thought must’ve been important to him… which it was. even though they aren’t particularly close despite being friends / acquaintances for a few years now, daisy so genuinely cares for jake and only wants to see the best for him; and this rung true in middle school as well, when they didn’t even know each other. she was (likely?) the only person to have pushed him forward in one of the worst times of his life.

she’s one of the most important people in his life and she doesn’t even seem to know it! gah!! he wants to impress her at the competition because he wants her to admire him the way he does her. he wants to be ‘deserving’ of her love, and this is how he can prove it. (of course, it’s also for himself, but that’s another can of worms…)

and besides the obvious parallel between daisy and hailey during the “but when i’m looking into your eyes” lines…

i also wanted to bring this up, another parallel between the three:

running to the other! jake wants to be there for hailey / the club, in the same way that daisy was there for him… and also trying to be a silver lining in their bitter pasts. something i really like about these scenes is that they’re running to them; it’s not some epic moment where they suddenly show up at the other’s side - they want to be there for the other so much that they rush into it, no looking back. it feels a lot more tangible that way…

in the words of my friend: “jake initially joining the club for daisy, but he learns to be there for hailey like daisy did for him.”

I'm very scared ep 10 part 2 will rip it apart at the seams, however.

When Daisy inevitably finds out Jake has a crush on her, how will she feel? Especially in the way she'll find out. Will she be disappointed that one of her friends has actually had a crush on her the whole time? Will she be stressed? Will she reciprocate? Her life seems too filled to the brim with responsibilities to have the time for a lover. Maybe she does like Jake. Maybe once she finds out the severity of how badly Jake messed up, the audio will take back her feelings.

How will Daisy feel when she finds out she was the reason Jake said those things? Would she be mad at Jake for using her as an excuse for his words? Would she be mad at Jake's friends for egging him on? Would she be mad at the music club for not hearing him out sooner? Would she be mad at herself? Would she be angry at herself for being the sole reason Jake joined the club? Would she be upset that she gave the club a faulty member who didn't genuinely care about them? (Or atleast that's what the music club thinks, anyway.)

Daisy is a very sympathetic person. I wouldn't doubt that she'd try her best to help everyone rekindle. But, I don't feel as if Daisy has the power to reconsile such a dead and beaten friendship. The music club has no trust for Jake and Jake's friends have no respect for him. She can't fix that. They have to.

Or maybe Daisy will get everyone to be friends again. Maybe she'll talk it out with every person, getting their insight and opinions. Maybe she'll get them to preform together. Maybe she'll get Jake's friends to stop being jerks. Maybe she'll help Jake confront his own friendship problems he created himself. Maybe Daisy will be the glue to everyone in the final episode.

I don't really know how Daisy will react. All I'm hoping is that Daisy's perception of Jake doesn't turn sour and withered like everyone else's. Rosy, please do not get rid of Jake and Daisy's fluffy interactions i am literally begging
