﹙ ✦ ﹚ as we all know, there's sight of a new group debuting under louvix audio next month. we are all.. clearly, very fucking confused as to what is going on, but we've been let it on some things. it's a boy group, they're clearly going to have more members than RiX, and they're going to be called ❝ MELIORA ❞, pretty name i have to admit, even with the speculation. i'm aware that RiX disbanded about four years ago now, so bringing them up again seems to be a bit of an odd choice, but in the end, they all connect together with a specifically crafted string of events. the formation of this new group (who we weren't even aware was being formed until early january) can be thanks to many of these events. whether they will be successful or not is a mystery, but for now i simply hope the company has changed their ways.

TRACK I : the company ❪ LOUViX AUDiO ❫

if you'll believe me, louvix audio originally started out as a tiny family business out in the small town of namwon-si in the north jeolla province in 1991. the company started as a private record label that managed miniature talent around the city, the original ceo soo jinho and his wife min sarang operated the company, and their son soo jaejin (our future & now ex ceo). in the early 90s all throughout the late years of the decade when it was first formed, louvix audio could be described as invisible, simply a label no one had ever heard of that tried their best to get out of their mountains of debt with trot songs no one exactly wanted to hear. a far cry from what this mess of a label has became today, but in the days where it was at it's lowest, there seemed to be no potential.

but though all hope seemed lost, our good friend jaejin seemed to see potential in the company with an admittedly catchy name. it took him a few years to actually convince his parents to reroute the company to seoul, mainly because they never wanted it to be more than it was, they were planning on shutting down the company by the end of the decade, but he knew he couldn't lose such a gem without doing something with it.

so jaejin did something just a little dirty.. he lied to his parents. once his parents had abided by his wishes, he swindled his father out of the ceo position! truly not his best course of action.. because he got disowned almost immediately. but who cares? he had a company, and a plan, which was easier said than done, because breaking into the entertainment industry as a no name company in a place as big as seoul would prove to be difficult, and it was evidently.

for the time being, whilst trying to make themselves known among the idol industry, louvix audio began a little bit of a career patching firm for actors and actresses who seemed to have effectively destroyed their own careers. while they were trying to make their name in the idol industry, slowly they became much more known for taking in the people who had pitch forks at their throats and made them seem more.. human, even with the eyebrow raising suspicions most people in the public had about this whole.. thing.

before ever reaching the success they did with their second boy group, louvix audio had a few idol group projects, projects we'll get into in the next section.. projects that frankly, no one gave a shit about. maybe the creativity was too ahead of it's time, or maybe it's just that no one had enough time to pay attention to groups from tiny companies that tried to patch up broken careers. most of their early groups disbanded within one year of their career, and if they even did get some attention, tragedy after tragedy followed them, causing for their collapse.

though there was a clear decline in attention throughout their early days, louvix audio eventually rose to the infamy they're now left with. it was really in the 2000s that they started to pick up momentum in the industry they so desperately wanted to get into. i assume that a cheshire grin must've spread across jaejin's face once he realized what the company was good for, producing "angels", marketing their idols as the sweetest beings to ever grace the earth, up the parasocialness, deliver to fans' every single request.

the company made a name for themselves for having "sweet" idols, their groups following 2001 always being crafted as sweet trainees who simply wanted to make music together. they had a reputation for fixing careers, so it only made sense that their idols would.. naturally be sweet.

and that's how it was for almost up to two decades. with jaejin as ceo, louvix audio quite literally lived up to their name, they were regarded as "the lovely's", and who could really argue with that? they were so good at covering their tracks and keeping their idols without scandal that it seemed the lovely facade they placed upon their idols wasn't much of a facade at all. it wasn't until 2016, with the disbandment of their biggest group, the uncovering of jaejin's years of tax fraud and forging, as well lawsuit after lawsuit against the company for complaints such as child endangerment, unfair pay, the violation of child labor laws, and so much more that the rose tinted glasses had been lifted.

after spending so long building his company up from ash, getting disowned by his parents and making sure to do anything to achieve public spotlight, soo jaejin, along with several staff members (including dance teachers, vocal coaches, and even musical producers) were charged for their crimes. quite literally more than half of their entire company were either behind bars or now fired, which included the ceo. their last big group disbanded, and everything was now back at square one.

there was silence for about a year and a half, until someone new took the position of ceo, who is our current ceo today, a woman by the name of mae eunkyung. her main job was 'to patch up this mess of a company', as she said in an interview after obtaining her ceo position. she's been here since the beginning, practically doing everything for louvix audio back when they were trying their best to make their name big. she's often suspected to be the secret lover of our former ceo, who, it's important to be said, did confess to having an affair with someone in that company, but it's most likely to be someone who caught charges with him in comparison to the woman who seems to have such a clean slate with no sign of mishaps whatsoever.

in all honesty, she seems too perfect, which is pretty shocking because who expects much from kpop ceos these days? it seems that every other month a ceo is purposefully sabotaging their own groups, but i guess a ceo being a decent person is enough to make me have a little more faith in humanity.

so!! that's where we are now, the current ceo is a woman who is much too nice that it causes suspicion, and almost everyone has been changed to avoid the same situation from happening again. seems that they dropped the whole "angel" thing too, but it doesn't mean they still don't have some strange marketing tactics. considering this will be their first group in four years, i'm curious to see what they'll try to pull now.. but i guess all we can do is wait.

TRACK II : a turbulent first few years ❪ the first groups ❫

though they've now had their existences completely scrubbed from the public eye, courtesy of jaejin's own insistence, the first few groups of louvix audio became the building blocks for the groups coming in the future. they've unfortunately never reached the fame their successors would have, which sucks in hindsight because these groups and their early disbandments were the only reason louvix audio and their future groups could rise to the top like they so desperately wanted to. it's sad to see how quickly they faded from view, and how the company did so much to erase them from everywhere they could. considering most of these groups were pre-youtube, we only know about their existences because of the members again bringing them back into the limelight with their own videos.

VALENTINE R!SING 「 1997–1998 」 was the first ever group out of louvix audio, a group that put pink in.. well everything. it was strange to discover that their first ever group was a girl group considering the company is better known for their boy groups, and it's also pretty strange that their lineup was so stacked.. yet they didn't fare well. their lineup consisted of a breakthrough actress, a rising mc, the daughter of a famous music producer, a former solo artist, and.. some unknown. the lineup seemed to be destined for success, they were pink pop perfection, but their downfall was also inevitable. their debut barely gained traction, and when it did, it was only because the members didn't exactly seem happy to be on stage. the members were picked apart for their clear lack of passion for the idol life, and when the buzz down died, so did everything else about them. in recent years they've gained some traction because their old title tracks are much too irresistible, but the members will never return to the idol industry, some of them fading into the background.

LAND (lost angels of neverland) 「 1998–1998 」 was a boy group clearly ahead of their time, i have to say, their concept was pretty magical, i'm hoping for a resurgence in the near future. the group that sported four members captured the hearts of the public pretty quickly, and they could've been something if the company actually cared to put any effort into using their fame. the problem with them was that they were all piggybacking off the success of their center member, who, after an insane modeling gig, became the only member people actually bothered to remember. even people who didn't stan the group knew him by name, and when that happened, so did the jealousy. the group fell apart in a matter of eight months, all of it culminating into a physical altercation that left their reputation strained. if louvix audio just put a little more effort, maybe they would be remembered as a group with a promising concept and good music.. but i guess were in the universe where it was all destined to go wrong.

AETHRA 「 2000–2002 」 was a trio that were as popular as they were a ticking time bomb. though they only lasted a good two years, they carved a name for themselves in a more infamous way than the members probably would've wanted. consisting of aeri, tahlia, and runa, the group would garner the most success louvix audio had captured in years, especially opening up to the japanese market, the members were terrific moneymakers for the company that had been struggling for the better half of a year. though they had good beginnings, the members quickly fell into a deep cycle of partying, substances, and violence that took up their lives more than actually being idols did. it all culminated into their final stage in 2002, where all three members, exhausted beyond recognition, decided to quit the idol life and walk off stage. it began with runa, who expressed her frustrations with the industry before stomping off, then followed by aeri and tahlia. the company was forced to make a statement about their decisions, stating that each member had requested to terminate their contracts, and even with the chaos in their lives, the three remain friends to this day, still despising louvix audio.

so yeah.. the first few attempts were met with disappointment after disappointment, it's a wonder that they didn't just give up and went through with their whole 'actors rehabilitation project' or whatever that was, but i guess it wasn't a mistake for them to not stop, because they're biggest successes would come in the following years, even if it came with some sacrifices.

TRACK III : now comes the success! ❪ the golden groups ❫

it would all become something in the mid 2000s, which is when our named company finally found their calling, producing the most "angelic" of idols who would capture the hearts of the public, all with clean slates and completely free of scandal. they would, quite literally, put every other company to shame with the amount of parasocialness they allowed to pass by, their idols would be beloved simply due to the fact that the company had insanely good marketing. when you look back at it now, it's dangerous how much the company let breeze past just to keep up the images of their idols, but then again, when has a kpop company ever been necessarily ethical?

RIX (meaning 'rising of six') 「 2006–2016 」 was the group back in their heyday. if you didn't like them, everyone assumed you were trying to be different. the hexad quickly captured the hearts of the public for their down to earth attitude and genuine group bond, they were beloved because they just seemed like a group of guys who liked making music together. RIX were jaejin's magnum opus, following their debut in 2006, they shot to soaring heights of success, winning rookie award after rookie award, nothing could compare to their success, they were a powerhouse of a group. a good year after their debut, they were dubbed "angels", they were so loved that it seemed physically impossible for any of them to slip up.

for the ten years they were made to stay together, RIX practically held up the louvix audio building, everything they touched turned into gold, they were selling things out left and right. they had charmed south korea, then they charmed japan, then china, then thailand, then they completely charmed the west with their indescribable charisma, they were hard to miss in 2007–2011, they were quite literally everywhere. you couldn't get rid of them, unfortunately, and because of their success, it was only right to push single after single out of them. the group were overworked yes, but they kept it all under wraps with their perfectly placed smiles, smiles that were a little too perfect to actually be anything real.

but while their success was enjoyed, there always has to be an end. though RIX was originally meant to disband in 2013, on account of the seven year contract all of them had signed with the company, they went on for three years longer than they initially planned, it only took some begging from their higher ups, who practically depended on them for the income the company was making at the time. the last few years of RIX's activity were slow.. nothing like their glory days where you could find them plastered everywhere, painted smiles all up, figurative halos circled over their heads, screams after screams dedicated to them, it seemed that they simply went into hiding, what happened? where the hell did they go? people begged louvix audio for updates, but in an unusual manner, the company kept their silence.

hey remember that whole 2016 incident that put half of louvix audio's staff in jail including their ceo? yeah, the reason all the commencing lawsuits got so much traction was because the six members of RIX each filed lawsuits to end their contracts, along with every other charge staff members at the company had brought against them, the group had also accused the company of looking past physical abuse against their own trainees and idols, abuse that ranged from the usual forced diets to some trainees even accusing staff members of putting their own hands on them (which didn't stop at those who were underage). the whole thing was a mess, a legal battle that ended in louvix audio keeping copyright of RIX's name, and the group disbanding after ten years together.

to this day, even with new groups having debuted after them, louvix audio will never replicate the success they had with RIX, there seemed to be something raw, genuine, real about them. even today they are remembered as a loved group, the members saw particular horrors under that company, but they remain best friends till this day. they'll probably never be a group again, yes, but they'll stay in good memory.

ANGELS KISS! 「 2007–2012 」 could've been the group, they were the group honestly, but there was a huge issue, louvix audio was only focused on RIX. though their first girl group in seven years was met with a similar amount of success, the company put a clear emphasis on their predecessors, and because of that, they started putting cracks into the carefully crafted facade their former group was so heavily keeping up. though their company was known for producing "angelic idols", as the years went on, the members slowly put that image to question. they were blasted for having "attitudes", being "attention seekers", they clearly bickered during behind the scenes interviews and not all of them got along it seemed. they were putting the "angelic idol view" that their company has crafted to shame with their shenanigans.

in comparison to their male counterparts, the members of ANGELS KISS! were deemed as "rowdy and rebellious". the members were often seen partying, drinking, doing substances, a lot of them were accused of dating around. they were deemed "whores", they were slutshamed, they were called irresponsible simply because they had private lives. did it all matter if they were performing well on stage? none of them ever gave 0%. they loved their jobs, they just also loved having lives outside of that job. they totally weren't jeopardizing anything!! they delivered good music and were never slacking, so who cared?

everybody, the answer is everybody. now, louvix audio isn't exactly a perfect company, but they were the company that composed of the perfect idols, so with a group that was challenging that carefully placed image, they had the least amount of content given as a result. the group worked day in and day out, killed themselves at practice to be given minimal rewards from their own company. their labelmates were the favorites, they got all the shiny stages and five star hotels, got to perform in the biggest stadiums in the country, but them? eh, they were also there. it didn't matter if they even sold out RIX in some aspects, it didn't matter if their fans were begging for bigger venues, for them to go to their countries, for them to expand to the west, this was what louvix audio felt they needed.

it seemed to work well, for the time being, the members got their act together (which meant they just began sneaking around), and they were rewarded for it. their success expanded, they caught the hearts of japan, of the us, of everyone. they were just like their seniors, except they brought girl crush like nobody ever did before. they were loved because they were unapologetic, maybe some people got bored of the picture perfect image RIX would showcase, stating that ANGELS KISS! was clearly the less fake of the two. the members were obvious about their issues, they didn't disguise anything, they showed everything, which included the ugly. if two members had fought, you would know, if the members were having trouble during promotions, you would know. they was still a facade there, but their smiles didn't look completely plastic, they had.. personality.

of course, this world isn't exactly fair, and the group eventually got a worse end than their seniors. it was in early 2012 that the "exposé" dropped. a former staff member, who had, in her own words, had been holding a grudge against the members, decided to go all out and blast all of ANGEL KISS!'s business in a lengthy document that would be copied, shared, and mark it's place in kpop as something that in retrospect, was not as messy as people made it seem, but back then? back then you'd think the members were sacrificing infants in rituals with how bad the outrage had gotten. the former staff member had hacked into the leaders phone, leaking everything of her's for the world to see. her messages between the members, her personal email, her family's personal information, and worst of all, her photos, personal photos, personal details, everything, it was a shit show. then, in the following months, the same would happen to each member, the person clearly had a grudge they were holding, and because of this "exposé" that member YEONA was revealed to have a relationship with ISEUL of RIX.

but why would this be bad on the girls? i hear you question. it's not like they necessarily did anything wrong, they had their privacy invaded by someone they thought they could trust. well, louvix audio didn't take too kindly to this. no no, they found it more important to punish the members than catch the culprit first. ANGELS KISS! would be put on an extended hiatus for months, canceling their oncoming tour with their largest US venue ever and completely scrubbing the internet of their existence. for months, whilst the investigation was ongoing, people were wondering what would happen if the group. they were finally answered when, later that year, the company announced that each of the girls decided to terminate their contracts with the company, ending their journey as a group together after just five years, three years of their original contract left. the news was devastating, people were angered, and they have every right to be! the group disbanded over something that wasn't even their fault.

but even with the protesting trucks, the petitions, the outrage, what was done was done, ANGELS KISS! would never again be a group, they were finished. it would be revealed later that the company had forced YEONA and ISEUL to break up, forbidding any of the members from even getting anywhere near the building. it's devastating really, because, if you take away everything, all of the members had their lives destroyed over something that could've been easily done with, but no, the company decided to end them. to this day, we still hope for the group to at least make mention of their old name, but it seems that the members all seem happier now that they're out of the idol life. i can only hope for the best for them.

﹙ ✦ ﹚ well there you have it! most of the history of louvix audio and the clown show that was their groups before meliora. this is a little personal, but i was around for the craze of the last two, even own some of their albums.. with that being said, i really do hope this new ceo is hoping to change things, the company's always had problems, and we really don't want any more hacking staff members. i don't think i'll be tuning in for MELIORA, but i wish the members the best of luck under a company with a history such as this one. — user _luvfix

˓⠀⠀﹪ :⠀⠀٬⠀⠀ALLISON NAM.⠀⠀⸻⠀⠀is a fictional former soloist under APRICUS CULTURE. allison initially debuted as a member of first generation girl group, KICLIQ, which debuted on may 21, 1998. the group consisted of three members: REUMI, U-JI, and allison under the stage name AREE. the group debuted to moderate success though the group's visual, reumi, would capture domestic attention for her appearances in a string of commercials for sprite in early 2001.

following their newfound success, the group would unfortunately enter a period of continuous scandal and allegations of chart manipulation. the group would go on to experience an additional level of outrage after inappropriate photos were leaked of u-ji and a member of a boy group under the same label. just a few days later, allison would be seen meeting with apricus culture ceo, JEONG KARIN, in a move that bewildered supporters of the quiet youngest member. before kicliq's label could respond to the development, apricus would buy out allison's contract with the company, making headlines across entertainment news.

though her preparations under her new company were kept relatively secret, allison took an active role chatting with fans on social media forums, keeping them encouraged that she would eventually return with new music. allison would eventually debut under her birth name as a soloist under apricus culture with the single, 10 MINUTES on august 22, 2003. she debuted with massive success, immediately garnering a loyal fanbase that would keep her in constant conversation as a powerhouse act for the next 15 years.

being no stranger to shock, allison would continue to make surprise announcement throughout her career. most notably, allison would announce her marriage to BYEON JAEJIN, then manager of girl group I2D (currently the manager of LETALIS) alongside her renewal of her contract in 2010. after renewing her contract in 2013, she would announce the birth of her first child. finally, with the announcement of her retirement from solo activities in 2018, allison would announce her new role within the company as the newly appointed ceo following karin's stepping down from the role to focus on her health earlier that year.

currently, allison is still the company's acting ceo while karin remains a member of the board as the chairwoman and founder. under allison's direction, apricus culture has continued to rise in public reputation through its revitalized training regimen. although the whispers of nepotism continue to rumble under the surface, the company is revered for its crisis handling and superior debuted talent.

wookey's messy breakup?

ok so buckle up, because i'm gonna give a breif history of the slight mess that was wookey. you probably know most of this stuff, but, like context y'know?

right so, it's 2012-ish, and key's little clique the 91-liners, consisting of most idols born in 1991, but mainly, key, KARA's nicole & hara infinite's woohyun, FT Island's jaejin, MBLAQ's mir & BEAST's dongwoon. the other members kinda come and go, but this is pretty much the core group. (also minho, when key let him)

they were everywhere, because, i mean, they were young, famous, and pretty.

key was the unofficial leader of the group, because of course he was.

key & woohyun, in particular, were very close.

and talked about each other all the time, it was borderline annoying.

now thiiiis is where it gets a teeny bit messy.

key had another 'good friend' park hyeonseop, who he had been openly hanging out with, A LOT (i have a whole keyseop tag lol, if you're interested) from like early 2013? hyeongseop even hung out with woohyun occasionally, and he even passed the minho test.

now, shoot forward to 2014, and ultra bff's and og members of the 91 line, which is still going strong at this point, key & woohyun, debuted their group ToHeart, and released one of the gayest songs and mv's, 'delicious'.

it was a very fun time. the promo was superb

the song was a bop, and they seemed to have an awesome time promoting together.

and obviously, because of this, key wasn't really seen hanging out with hyeongseop that much.

suddenly, seemingly out of the blue, park hyeonseop unfollows both key and woohyun. hm. wonder what went down there, hmmm....? (hyeongseop had a habit of unfollowing people who got too close to key - there was the infamous jongkey white day incident 💀💀💀).

anyway, toheart went on, and honestly, they were so out there, anon. and incredibly obvious. there were mainstream rumours about them dating. like, ones that key actually addressed

yeah, he took them as 'jokes' because the company didn't do shit lol, key was like 'i'm releasing an album with my bff turned boyfriend' and just did.

then, obviously, toheart promotions ended, and key and woohyun weren't seen together as often, publicly, but still posted the odd insta post, and publicly hung out with the other 91 liners.

theeeen, distaster?

around like 2016? the 91 seemingly stopped hanging out in a grouo publicly. no insta posts, no fanaccounts, nothing. and during their peak, these were everywhere. also, al of them were doing promotions at the time, so, they had plenty of opportunities. it was a bit odd.

then,

key unfollowed woohyun, (and a few other people) in early 2017. now, i know, that who you follow on insta, isn't an indication of your real life relationships, especially when you're a celebrity, but, when your someone who has a very strong instagram presence, like kibum, unfollowing your close friend, is a bit of a statement.

like, fans were genuinely shocked.

these two had been inseparable for years.

woohyun unfollowed key some time after, and they literally have barely publicly interacted since. (edit: there have been a few interactions in the years since.

key has since followed woohyun back, but they still don't seem to hang out or interact like the do with their other friends.

What does he know?

You find yourself spacing out as you stand at the printer, waiting for Namjoon's schedule.

Just when you thought you had found some normalcy to your already chaotic life, you find yourself here. Biting your bottom lip, you groan, falling on top of the printer, the warmth as it sparks to life easing you even if it's for a little while.

"Why me?" you murmur, your brow furrowed and eyes glistening with helpless emotion. "Why now?"

What happened to the auditions you had sent before? In a time where you believed that you could achieve your dream without anything or anyone else holding you back. Were you not good enough then?

What makes you good enough now?

Groaning, you slide off the printer and run your hands through your hair. Your neat look has been thoroughly rumpled, just like your day, and you wonder if there will ever be a time where you're allowed to breathe.

Where you're welcome to let go.

With the small slip of paper sliding out of the printer, you grab it and turn swiftly around, ready to take it to Namjoon.

If only life were easier.

With a sharp cry, you bump into a couple of people walking by, and scalding hot liquid splatters between the two of you. A bitter, almost pitch black liquid soils your shirt and destroys the schedule you hold in your hands.

Coffee? Again?

Sighing, You wipe some of the drops off your face before glancing up to see if the pair is all right.

It's two girls and from the looks of it, they seem to be staff themselves, perhaps working on the publications team. You try to catch a glimpse of their badges, but they're moving too much and you can't get a good enough look.

However, you're able to catch a glimpse of their features perfectly fine. One of them is tall, with a soft tan to her smooth skin, and darker features. She has obsidian eyes that glitter when the light catches them and a square jawline that matches her demanding aura. Her hair is long and straight but looks soft to the touch. She doesn't wear many expressions on her face, however, and looks to be a bit standoffish. She would be hard to get close to.

The second one is the one who was carrying the coffee and though her face is pulled into one of disgust, you can tell that she's gorgeous. She has soft honeydew skin and almond butter eyes. Her face is perfectly symmetrical, and her lips full and glossy. Her eyes are large and wide, a deep brown color, with long dark eyelashes brushing against her cheek each time she blinks. They would otherwise be beautiful if they didn't sparkle with hatred and malice.

After a moment, you recognize what you've done; panic rising in your throat, you scramble to do something. You quickly reach for your emergency towels, but you've left your satchel in your small office. Cursing silently underneath your breath, you reach down to pick up the discarded cup and help her as best as you can.

"I'm sorry I--"

"Watch out will you?!"

Stunned, you step back, not sure what to do. It's been a while since you've been yelled at like that. A while since you've felt that shock. Swallowing hard, you shake it off and proceed to pick up the cup, keeping your distance.

Maybe it's better to just leave her alone.

"Wait..." at the sound of her voice, you look up, rather disinterested. "Who are you?"

Rolling your eyes, you turn to the trash can. You can't believe you expected an apology. Her friend, the one who was helping her clean up, peers at you before nudging her.

"She's who we were talking about, remember? Jaejin's replacement."

At the mention of your friend's name, your ears perk, and you drop the coffee cup in the trash can. Just what have they been saying about you two? Biting the inside of your cheek in annoyance, you turn around, facing them head-on.

"Oh!" The coffee girl's eyes widen. She looks you up and down as though inspecting a piece of meat. Her lip curls as she turns to her friends, eyes darkening with disgust. "Why didn't they ask one of us? She's hardly experienced."

You raise an eyebrow. Do they think you can't hear them? The dark beauty shrugs, her black eyes dull with disinterest.

"I heard she knows Jaejin. He gave her the post."

You try to be angry, you try to deny the accusations...but they aren't wrong.

Somehow, that makes it worse.

"Who is she, a colonizer?!" Ms. Coffee scoffs, tossing her hair over her shoulder. You try not to flinch, but you can't control it. You swallow hard, curling your hands into fists at your sides.

"Besides, isn't Jaejin dating Mijeong?"

Your breath stops as you hear the words, the same words Sunoh said when you met him. The same words which remind you of everything you have lost.

If they continue to speak, you don't listen, you can't hear them. The roar starts in your ears as your blood rushes to your head, and spots cloud your vision. You can't see, you can't think, you can't function.

Why is it still so hard?

Why can't you let go?

You feel yourself begin to sway as the room swirls into fragments of time and space, and you lose sight of where and who you are.

The only thing left is pain.

Always pain.

"Who says he isn't?" The hand wrapping itself securely around your shoulder, the soft calming voice at your ear, brings you back to reality and you're able to breathe again.

"Jojo?" The tall dark beauty's eyes widen and she steps back a bit. It seems as though she's started a fight she won't be able to finish. Jojo narrows her eyes, her hand tightening around your shoulder as she pulls you behind her in a protective gesture.

"What's going on here?"

"Nothing." Miss Coffee quickly intervenes, sending a wide smile your way. One that somehow comes across as menacing, matching the anger in her eyes. "Just a careless newbie is all."

Her voice is dripping with sarcasm and her friend beside her pinches her in her side, whispering something incomprehensible in her ear. The Coffee Girl shakes her off, growing furious by the second. You narrow your eyes her way. This has to be more than a stupid coffee spill, but what could she possibly have against you?

"Come on, Jojo. She's the one in the wrong. If it were any one of us, you wouldn't give a second look." She snarls before turning to you and reaching around Jojo to push you backward.

"Ya!" Jojo cries out in surprise, stepping in front of you, but not before the damage is done. Caught off guard, you stumble back into the printer. Her friend gasps, and steps back. You wonder if she's considering removing herself from the equation. Pulling yourself up, you glare at her before stepping forward.

"What's your problem?" you hiss, your hands clenching at your side to try and contain your anger. Jojo steps in front of you once more, just in case you decide to start swinging some punches. Frustrated, you push her aside. It's not like you're going to do anything. Jojo sends you a sideways glance, but you ignore her, focusing on the target in front of you. “What are you, a child?”

"Did you hear something?" The girl smirks, nudging her friend beside her who swallows nervously. You don't know why, but that only makes you angrier, and you consider stepping across Jojo to smack some sense into her. Instead, you deepen your glare and roll your eyes.

"Pathetic..."

Are you wrong? She's acting like a child. So naturally, your snide comment doesn't sit well with her. Eyes widening in anger, she raises her hand to slap you across the cheek, and you flinch.

But the strike never comes.

Opening your eyes slowly, you turn to find someone has come in between the two of you, hand wrapped tightly around the girls. You look to Jojo, half expecting the source to be her...but it's not. Her eyes are wide and she seems to have frozen.

So then who?

"Now now." Your eyes widen at the voice and your heart starts pounding hard in your ears as he steps in front of you, shielding you. The girl stares up at him with shameful fear, as though her entire world has just been shattered. "You should really watch your temper."

He drops her hand and she steps back, her friend catching her from behind.

"You never know who might be watching."

He gestures to the room, at the groups of people watching, whispering to each other. They don't hide their interest, nor their disgust as they send looks towards the girl.

Satisfied, he turns to you, a reassuring smile breaking out on his face. The same face known and cherished worldwide. Up close, it's even more unreal.

Kim Seokjin.

"As you said, Yen is new, and when you were first starting out, you made way more mistakes believe me." Jojo snaps, her eyes glittering with anger as she turns to Coffee. She steps forward, leaning beside her ear.

"I would be careful who you make an enemy, sweetheart." She whispers harshly, loud enough for anyone close to the two of them to hear. "Namjoon quite likes his assistant, wonder what he'd do if something happened to her."

Though the threat wasn't directly said, it's clear what Jojo meant and as she pulls back, smiling sweetly; the girl's pale face tells you that she clearly understood.

"Is that all then?" Jin says from beside you, causing you to jump. When did he get so close? The girl glances at the two of you and seems to grow furious at the sight. Her pale face quickly flushes with anger and she scowls before storming away, ramming her shoulder violently into yours before she goes; her friend scuttling after her.

"Ya!" Jojo calls, but the girl is already gone, and you don't mind. Scoffing, she shakes her head before turning to you. "So immature...what are we kids?"

You don't respond, instead, you turn away from the pair of them, finding your printed schedule discarded and drenched on the ground. Sighing, you pick it up, holding it gingerly in your hands.

Everything soiled.

"Now I have to start all over."

Behind you, Jojo and Jin give each other a look before Jojo kneels beside you and places her hand on your shoulder. When you don't look at her right away, she peers into your face and you turn to her, your face blank.

"Yen, are you alright?" you nod before pulling away, throwing the schedule in the trash can.

"I'm fine."

Jojo sighs before standing as well.

"Why didn't you stop them?" you pause at the question.

Why didn't you stop them? You're not sure you know yourself. You wanted to, you wanted to fight back...

But you have no fight left.

Sighing, you shake off the feeling of despondency before turning to her and smiling weakly.

"Were they wrong?" Jin furrows his brow in concern at the phrase. He tries to read your expression, understand what's wrong but it's near impossible. You've closed yourself off to everyone around you, and while you try to act tough, you're afraid. Sighing you turn away from them, unable to handle the pitying looks. "Besides, I don't have to answer to them."

I don't have to answer to anybody.

After a moment, Jin walks to your side and places his hand gently on your shoulder. Surprised, you flinch away from his grasp, but it doesn't phase him. He looks down at you with a somber expression before noticing your drenched shirt. You follow his gaze and the heat of embarrassment floods your cheeks. You quickly fold your arms across the stain, acting as though it doesn't exist. He smirks a little at the attempt.

Now she...she's interesting.

"Jojo?" He calls, still staring at you, and you narrow your eyes.

What is he expecting, a cookie?

"Would you mind printing out the schedule for Ms..." His eyes search for your badge before he locates it and takes it, reading your name. "...Lin today?"

Jojo nods but looks towards him a bit perplexed.

"Sure...but what are you planning to do?"

Smiling he twirls your ID in his hand before you snatch it away from him which only makes his smile grow wider. Taking your hand, he turns and pulls you behind him, Jojo staring at the two of you in shock.

"I'm going to help her change."

which other royal/knight does your muse think is their biggest competition, and why?

it's not something jiae would advertise, nor does she even privately admit it most days. on her best days, there is no competition. jiae is beloved by most, especially the citizens of the kingdom of hearts. she has been learning and training since a younger age than most nobles, and being the daughter of the current king and queen, it feels like she's almost guaranteed the throne. jaejin is getting older without already being crowned king, and eunae doesn't have the public's approval like jiae does. the odds, it seems, are in her favour.

on her worst days, jiae knows that's not true.

time is an illusion, and anything can happen at any time, so jaejin isn't completely out of the running. but eunae is her true competition. she always has been, perhaps since they were old enough to crawl. eunae isn't... incapable; she's intelligent, she works hard, and she's a good person, though the public doesn't know that. as much as it pains jiae to think about, the only thing that separates the twins, that puts one twin much closer to the throne than the other— it's their reputations.

would your muse eliminate their biggest competition if given the chance? why or why not?

morals aren’t very high on jiae’s list of priorities. if they were, she wouldn’t have so many secrets to hide from so many people. but she has limits, too. she can handle the trail of lies and blackmail that could possibly lead back to her, but she could never... she could never kill someone. whether it’s an unknown peasant from the kingdom of hearts or her biggest competition—eunae, oh god, eunae. that’s her sister! they may not be close, and jiae certainly doesn’t feel anything more than a sliver of concern that isn’t even a constant (it just appears randomly, in an instant, and then disappears again before she even has the chance to think about it), but to have her own blood on her hands? jiae can’t deal with that. she’ll find other ways to bury her competition, but not this.

what is one of your muse’s biggest fears?

reputations are time-consuming. jiae has spent the majority of her life carefully crafting a positive one: throwing herself into her studies as a child to learn about her kingdom and politics, volunteering with her citizens every so often, addressing everyone with a smile. everything that makes a perfect princess, she's done it. but she's also done things that are beneath a princess.

reputations are delicate. all the lies and the manipulation, those times she's spread rumours about her competition or blackmailed people into silence, they're everything the people of the kingdom of hearts hate. as soon as they discover the person behind the façade, jiae will no longer be a valid contender for the throne. her image will crumble around her, no longer the beloved daughter of the kingdom. they'll turn their backs on her, redirecting their support to someone they deem competent (and jiae knows what the kingdom wants: someone soft, loving, weak—someone who will surely ruin the kingdom, but that's a tirade for another day).

she can't allow that to happen, at least not until she is crowned queen. she won't let it happen, not when she's put in so much effort to get here.

what is one of your muse’s biggest regrets?

children don't get to decide who they share blood with and where they grow up. jiae was born as a daughter of the king and queen, raised in the kingdom of hearts. and because she shared their blood, she never got a choice on where she would fight to become a queen; jiae is expected to carry on the legacy of her family by aiming to take over the kingdom of hearts. personally, despite being raised with heart values, she can't help but wish she could rule over the kingdom of clovers instead. their people are stronger, more powerful than the hearts citizens. they know their place instead of intermingling between nobility and the lower citizens.

she's always felt she belongs there instead. a large part of jiae thinks that she should have fought for the chance to compete in a different kingdom. but since she can't, she'll simply transform her own kingdom the way in whatever way she sees fit.

BREAKING: MPD TO FUND PROFESSOR’S FUNERAL

Over two weeks since Myeongcho University was rocked by the murder of beloved Professor Bae of Natural Sciences, the MPD have spoken up on their findings and, better yet, their subsequent arrest. 

In a small press conference, MPD’s Detective Song Hajoon reveals the killer to have been a former Hydrus member, who, in believing he would be covering his tracks, killed the man he betrayed his gang to. After details of one of his hits reached another Hydrus member, the killer felt he could only save himself by ‘shooting the messenger’. Believing he had little left to live for, the killer also gave MPD the alias of the Hydrus member and MPD are reportedly making every effort to connect the name to a real identity. When asked about the graphic nature of his murder, the killer, with no remorse, only stated he ‘wanted to be sure he was done’. 

MPD also stated they are supporting the victim’s family, students and the university as a whole as they grieve and cope with the news and investigation. Chief Choi Jiwoo will personally be paying for both a private funeral and public memorial for Professor Bae, as well as attending both to pay her respects.

the playing card in the boy’s hand emits quite a glow into the night, flipping it up in the air again and again as he walks away from the bodies knocked down on the ground. he senses a body struggling to get up and run, his brow cocks up in interest, a sly smile spreads on his face as he turns and throws the card toward the man on his feet – bullseye.

only when he veers back to his partner for this assignment does the stinging on the right side of his lip makes itself apparent. a cut lip, the boy simply shrugs it off, he’s had worse. pain is something one needed to get used to in their field and jaejin learned that quite early as his skill in combat then was simply not up to par with it at present.

“are we done?” a wide grin forms on his lip even if it stings.

“that was such a workout though!” jae laughs and rubs at his stomach, “chicken?” a mischievous smirk flaunts itself towards the ever-familiar girl.

tnt, as the public came to know him as, has had years of missions under his belt. throughout all those assignments he’s been teamed up with several others but he’ll have to admit that being partnered with surge is one of his favorites. true enough that they do work well together but that’s besides the point. what he loves the most about it is the aftermath turned ritual – what adventure they’ll head of to after their field mission.

“Oppa!” Jaehwa smiled brightly as she wrapped her arms around the man, smiling up at him as they stood in the dressing room. 

Jaeduck smiled down at her, slipping his arms over her shoulders and giving her a soft kiss on the nose. Jaehwa felt her cheeks going red, making her hide her face in his chest as he laughed. 

“Jagiya,” Jaeduck teased, “You look cute,” 

“Stop..,” Jaehwa couldn’t help but smile. 

These moments between then were slightly rare, hiding the sort of relationship from the rest of the group members, they weren’t sure how everyone else would react. Two members dating? And if the public found out? Fans were already possessive of both the boys and male fans of Jaehwa. 

Jaeduck only smile, pecking her forehead and cupping her red cheeks, “Look at you, all flustered,” 

Jaehwa laughed and playfully hit his chest, Jaeduck’s Busan accent seemed to make her melt at any given chance. 

“Ducky!” Jaehwa giggled, playfully leaning away as Jaeduck made kissing noises at her. 

She eventually leaned back into him, letting their lips meet in a soft kiss. It wasn’t until the door opened and someone cleared their throat that they both separated, eyes wide. 

“What the hell?!” Jaejin almost yelled, eyes filled with fury. 

“Jaejin Oppa..,” Jaehwa whispered out. 

“Are you two dating?!” Jaejin yelled. 

This alerted the attention of the rest of the group, making Jaeduck and Jaehwa slip away from each other. Jaejin was obviously angry, his whole body tense as Jiwon looked between the three. 

“What’s going on here?” Jiwon asked, asserting himself as the leader. 

Jaejin growled, “Their dating,” 

Jiwon furrowed his brows together as Jaeduck and Jaehwa both send each other nervous looks. 

“Are you?” Jiwon asked. 

Jaeduck looked at Jaehwa, “Well..,” 

“These things kind of just happened,” Jaehwa spoke in a small voice, “We kind of are, I suppose,” 

“How long?” Jiwon asked. 

“About four months,” Jaeduck whispered, “Since we confessed anyway,” 

Jiwon shrugged, he didn’t see anything wrong with this situation. Jaejin was obviously still angry. 

“I don’t see the harm,” Jiwon spoke, “Just don’t let it go public,” 

“Don’t let it go public?!” Jaejin growled, “Two team members dating?! What if they have a horrible break up and never want to see each other again?! What if Jaeduck cheats on Jaehwa?! What would that do to the team?” 

“Jaejin!” Jaeduck snapped, “I’d....why would you say something like that?!” 

“I have a point!” Jaejin growled. 

Jaehwa sighed, “Oppa..,” 

Jiwon sighed, looking at Sunghoon and Jiyong who decided to stay out of this argument this time. 

“We have a performance, we can discuss this when we get home,” Jiwon stated. 

Jaehwa and Jaeduck laced their fingers together, giving each other fearful looks as Jaejin grabbed Jaehwa’s arm, pulling her away from him. 

“Separate until we get home,” Jaejin snapped, “Because this isn’t continuing,”

O  viciado em tecnologia parecia ter desaprendido a mexer no notebook. Quem diria que logo Kazuya, acostumado com câmeras digitais, um bom celular e um bom notebook estaria ali, olhando para uma tela por vários minutos sem conseguir acreditar no que lia. O mundo dava voltas de fato.

Depois de duas semanas de muito trabalho, finalmente o site da loja estava pronto. O esquema de cores era noir, sombrio e cínico que nem ele. Todavia sua personalidade estava espalhada em cada elemento do site, dos títulos provocativos até à família de fontes, gótica e elegante. Clicar no link, vendo a foto escolhida saltar na tela, fazia seu coração acelerar. 

Reconhecia cada uma das peças disponíveis naquela coleção, havia desenhado uma por uma, desenvolvido as estampas, costurado os protótipos... Tudo havia saído da sua cabeça, dos seus mais loucos sonhos, aqueles tão surreais que não contava para ninguém com medo de soar maluco. 

Será que ainda seria considerado maluco ao finalmente concretizar seu sonho? Ainda tinha muitas perguntas, mas não sabia se queria as respostas. Por hora estava feliz. Não morava em Seul, não era modelo, nem tinha uma moto (ainda). Não havia conseguido nada daquilo que queria originalmente, mas tinha realizado coisas muito mais profundas do que seus desejos superficiais e era essa sua fonte de júbilo.

Kanayama Kazuya, o 'começo calmo nas montanhas douradas'. Os olhos foram para a janela, observando o sol fraco de outono brilhar nas montanhas de Nanyeong e foi então que soube que, por mais que não quisesse ou não visse isso de início, ele foi parar no lugar certo e na hora certa.

Com um suspiro breve e um último olhar para a tela do computador, clicou no botão e publicou o site.

O gato preto o observou com curiosidade, como se soubesse o que estava acontecendo.    

— Feliz pelo papai, Nori? — Kazuya esticou seus dedos ossudos até o queixo do felino, dando umas boas coçadinhas ali. — Prometo que vou comprar um monte de pasta de atum pra você e pro seu irmãozinho.

Voltou os olhos para a tela e uma notificação vermelha chamou sua atenção. Ao clicar nela, viu os primeiros pedidos sendo registrados em tempo real: uma camisa; uma calça flare; duas camisas; um moletom...

O canto dos lábios subiu e então um sorriso se formou. Um novo pedido foi registrado e a vista do rapaz ficou constrangedoramente borrada.  

Kazuya riu quando um pedido ainda maior chegou, tomado por um sentimento de gratidão extremamente profundo, sagrado e precioso. De repente não queria mais estar sozinho com o gato. 

Precisava comemorar a inauguração da loja e queria todos os seus amigos presentes: Taeyang, Jaejin, Gunil, Ning, Yumi, Yoona, Hyejoo, Helene, o casalzinho de namorados-gêmeos e até mesmo certo veterinário bobão que havia decidido sair de sua vida. Tinha tantas outras pessoas que foram indispensáveis para que ele aprendesse a gostar daquela cidade que nem sabia o que fazer. Provavelmente teria que fechar o bar naquela noite: adeus ao resto que tinha na poupança. 

No entanto, antes de qualquer outra comemoração ou fofoca, precisava informar a pessoa mais importante da sua vida.

Foi então que, pela primeira vez em quase três meses, digitou o único número que sabia de cabeça, vendo o nome do contato se acender com um coraçãozinho e caracteres japoneses.  

A ligação completou logo no segundo toque.

— Ba-chan? 

É claro que era ela pela forma como a ouvia xingar horrores do outro lado da linha, reclamando por ele ter passado tanto tempo sem mandar notícias. Kazuya secou uma lágrima chata do cantinho do olho e então soltou uma das suas risadas, puxando o ar no final que nem um porquinho.

— Gomen ne, ba-chan… Posso explicar, tenho muitas novidades.

É, seria uma longa ligação.
