You were the perfect prey for Nate
You were cute, just so fucking cute that it almost drove him crazy, and so polite during lessons, never refusing anyone anything, whether they asked for a pen, or if they could copy your homework, which you always had ready. In his eyes, you were perfect, the only right choice for him.
He knew you wouldn’t fuck up the way Cassie or Maddy did, you wouldn’t disappoint him like they did.
Sure, your style wasn't his thing at all -not that you dressed awful or anything, you were really into y2k, and just loved wearing baggy jeans or any jeans for that matter, and graphic tops combined with sparkly accessories, chains and rings.
He wished you'd wear something more... feminine, like skirts and cute dresses, that show off your assumingly perfect body, he also wished you'd wear brighter colors.
Another thing he loved about you, was that you were really smart and didn't seem to pay attention to boys at all, which surprised him because he was used to girls being all over boys, only wanting one thing from them and he hated it because they were all so predictable.
But you weren’t.
It also kind of scared him at the same time though, because what if you just really weren't into boys to begin with?
He didn't know much about you except for the fact that you loved music, movies and tv shows. Or at least that's what you said, when you had to introduce yourself to the new class.
It had been just a few days prior that he had broken up with Cassie at that time, but he was sure that in this moment, when you stood there in front of the class, with your trembling hands, shy smile and quiet voice, he was head over heels for you.
You just enrolled to East Highland High, you knew no one yet. That had to be his biggest advantage ever, since you didn't know about any of the bad things Nate has done so far, and no one could take you away from him once he earned your trust. Because why would you trust anyone else more than him?

It was your third day at the new school when he decided to approach you.
During lunch break you sat alone, listening to music as you tried to subtly look around the huge cafeteria, searching for someone else who was alone.
Everyone shared their table with at least two other students, except for you and some other girl that sat alone as well.
You considered approaching her and sitting with her, maybe she was nice and maybe she had other friends? But you decided not to do it, because maybe you'd disturb her or something. You sighed and scrolled through your phone, when you suddenly noticed someone standing in front of your table.
You slowly looked up and noticed it was one of your classmates. You quickly fished one of your earbuds out and stopped the music "Hey.." You said, as you smiled at him. He smiled back at you, the smile genuine as he replied "Hey, can I sit for a moment?" he gestured towards the chair in front of you.
You were confused.
Confused because he wanted to sit with you? Yes, you were new to East Highland High, but this wasn't the first school you ever attended. You could tell who's popular and who isn't.
And Nate Jacobs was definitely popular. He had to be.
Quaterback, extremely tall, and extremely good looking, there was no way he just wanted to sit and talk to someone like you. What if he's gonna bully me? Take my lunch money and beat me up? But that would be absurd.. right?
You nodded before removing the other earbud as well. "What're you listening to?" He asked, genuinely curious "Oh... um... just Lana Del Rey." You said nervously as you looked at your phone, too scared to look him in the eyes.
"Oh cool.. which song?" He'd be lying if he said he knew literally any Lana Del Rey song besides Summertime Sadness and Video Games, but he wanted to know nonetheless. Maybe he'd listen to it at home to check out what kind of music you listen to "It's called..." You hesitated for a moment before finally saying "'Music to watch boys to'" You knew how that sounded.
Nate chuckled once he heard the name of the song and saw your flustered expression "Is that what you're doing? Listening to music while you're watching the boys here?" He joked. You chuckled nervously "No, really that's the last thing I'd do. I'm trying not to look at anyone longer than a second." You smiled as you locked eyes with him for seemingly less than 0.5 seconds.
Nate nodded "Yeah, I can tell." He cleared his throat "Just came over to introduce myself since you're new and everything." He reached over the table, stopping right in front of your phone, inviting you to shake his hand "I'm Nate."
You knew that already, since the two of you had classes together and you paid attention during attendance, to memorize the names of some of your classmates.
You carefully reached over and shook his extremely large hand. "I'm y/n, but you probably know that already." You once again chuckled nervously, thinking back to the painful introduction you went through at each and every new lesson you went to.
"Yeah, right." He nodded, smiling as his mind went there as well. During maths, arts, and English, he was lucky enough to see you introduce yourself over and over again. You slowly retrieved your hand again and Nate couldn't help but feel sad at the loss of contact.
He took a look around the cafeteria before setting his gaze back onto you "So, why are you sitting here all alone?" He asked in a slightly less playful tone "Hm.. I don't know," You shrugged "I guess I just don't know how to approach people." You smiled again.
What Nate had noticed in this short amount of time, is how often you smiled at him, and how you tried to keep that expression.
He didn't only notice it in this moment while he sat in front of you, but also during lessons, whenever someone talked to you, you rarely kept a neutral expression, always a friendly smile on your lips.
You were unbelievably insecure.
Always trying to remain friendly, out of fear of being perceived as unfriendly or unapproachable or anything that could be perceived as negative. He got you figured out faster than you could've imagined.
When he didn't respond, you continued "I actually considered talking to that girl over there, since she's alone as well.."
Nate looked over to the girl you were referring to before smirking and looking back to you "I wouldn't do that." You frowned in confusion "Why? Is she mean or something?" Nate shook his head "She just... doesn't talk, I don't think I've ever seen her talk to anyone before. She always sits alone and stares... into the void or something, even during lessons she barely responds to the teachers." he pointed out.
You sighed "Wow... And I thought I was socially incompetent." He chuckled and shook his head "No believe me, it can always be worse." You nodded and smiled again. Once you didn't reply, Nate continued "But, to be honest, you don't seem socially incompetent at all. You actually seem fun to be around."
You looked up at him again, this time for a bit longer than 0,5 seconds, and raised your eyebrows "You think so?" Nate nodded "Yeah, of course, you don't?"
You thought for a moment am I actually fun to be around? It had honestly been ages since you had actual friends. Sure, you had classmates at your previous schools, who met up with you from time to time. But it never felt like an actual friendship, with trust and sincerity.
You figured that you just weren't easy or fun to be around, that you just bored them eventually, even though you tried to be as fun as possible.
But your parents also played a big role.
Your mom has been strict and didn't want you to go out with friends too much, because she was scared you'd get hurt. She constantly fought with you and your father, because neither you nor your dad shared the same amount of paranoia she seemed to have.
And your dad was constantly moving cities, and even states with the two of you, whenever he had a new, better job offer. East Highland High was probably your third highschool so far, and even if you wanted to stay polite and make friends, you didn't want them to get too close to you, because the moment you had to move it'd be over anyways.
"I don't... know.." You said, and for the first time your smile actually faded. Not into a sad expression, but your smile just seemed to slip, and Nate felt like he got just the slightest bit closer to you.
"I don't really have any friends outside of school, and since I have none here either.." You shrugged again, not sure what to tell him. He nodded "Well.. you have me now, we can be friends." You looked up at him again, your eyes wide. You waited for him to laugh and tell you that all of this was a prank or something, but he didn't.
"Um... Thank you, but you really don't have to do that. I bet you already have plenty of friends." Nate shook his head and said "You can never have enough friends," He had a point, not everyone lived a socially awkward life like you did "besides, as I said, you seem cool to be around." He added.
"Thank you, I'd love to be your friend." You responded with another smile. Nate couldn't believe that he got this close to you in just five minutes, and that you didn't seem to question any of his intentions at all. In his eyes, he didn't only achieve his goals for the day, he also did you a huge favour.
You had someone you could count on, someone to hang out with, you weren’t alone anymore.
Then the doorbell rang, informing everyone that the break was over now.
"Alright, we have maths now, let’s go together, yeah?" He asked as he got up. You nodded and grabbed your phone, stuffing it in your bag before you got up as well.
Tumblr media
Two weeks passed after you first talked to Nate, and as it turns out, he really seemed to be your friend.
You went shopping together, spent time mostly at your place, because your mom wanted to keep an eye on him since he was a stranger and most importantly a boy, and you even went to his football game once. You seemed truly happy whenever you were with him.
A little too happy for your own liking.
Because deep down you knew you might have to leave him behind eventually, or that he'd get bored of you at some point.
Not to mention that you, against your own will, developed a small crush on him. But who could blame you when he was the first boy who ever truly cared for you like he did? Or bought you gifts and showered you with affection like he did?
Yeah that was another thing that Nate did. He loved buying things for you.
At first it were just small things like ice cream from the gas station, or snacks from vending machines. But eventually, the gifts got bigger and bigger despite you telling him that you couldn’t possibly pay him back.
Sure, your dad's job did pay him a lot, but you were sure that Nate's dad had to earn at least twice as much for his son to be able to buy that many things.
Last time you two went to the mall and he saw a pair of earrings for more than 200$, he dragged you along with him and showed them to you saying "They'd look so pretty on you." It almost felt like he was your boyfriend.
Usually the girls in the movies you watched would pressure their boyfriends into buying them expensive jewelry, and into spending their money on them, but Nate seemed to be the other way he around.
He was pressuring you into allowing him to spend his money on you.
Just like that day when the two of you went into another boutique, because Nate convinced you that "it'll be fun!", to put it in his words.
The moment you stepped into the boutique, you felt somewhat uneasy. You walked in with your ripped jeans and tank top on, and the only clothes you saw were dresses, skirts, and tops that you'd never consider buying. Not to mention the shoes that they sold, looked nowhere near as comfortable as your sneakers did.
Nate knew that.
He only had to look at your face for a split second to know what you're feeling. You felt like you wouldn't fit in, or like these clothes wouldn't suit you. But he knew how to convince you.
He spent two entire weeks with you after all.
Any normal person would say that's not enough to fully know somebody, but Nate had his ways of finding out almost every insecurity, fear and worry of yours, just by subtly asking the right questions.
And none of them shocked him, since he already figured out that you were socially anxious and insecure.
But he also knew what you needed. You craved someone who loves you and gives you constant reassurance, someone who tells you what to do and who to go out with, like your mom did, because that's all you knew your entire life.
You needed to be loved and touched, craving intimacy with literally anyone, because you never had friends who'd hug you tightly when you were anxious, or hold you close when you needed it, and your parents didn't either.
And he could give you all of that and more, once the time was right.
He also figured that you haven't had a boyfriend yet, or haven't been intimate with anyone yet, and that thought alone made him crave you even more, if that was even possible.
The fact that he would be your first everything, was enough to get him going, and motivated him to show you your true potential.
And he knows that you’d let him.
He always dreamt about how easily you'd let him have his way with you, and how he'd corrupt you. Nate had sadistic thoughts as well, fantasizing about making you cry and beg him for forgiveness for something that wasn’t even your fault.
He also dreamt of leaving marks and bruises all over your body, so that you and everyone else knew you’re his.
But he wouldn't want to hurt you, he knew from experience how bad that could end for him.
And the moment he saw your innocent eyes looking up at him and your smile while doing so, the violent thoughts got replaced with the need to protect you from any man that even just walked near you.
"You okay?" He asked casually before he walked towards one of the racks with skirts. "Mhm.. I just don't think I want to buy anything here, Nate..." You said as you nervously looked down at your feet, feeling bad for possibly disappointing him.
Nate turned around and looked at you "Don't you want to try something on at least?" Before he let you respond, he came up with an idea "How about this, I'll put together an outfit and you can try it on and see for yourself if you like it or not." He asked, but it was more of a demand than a question.
You sighed and looked around the store, noticing that they also had jeans skirts, and a dark red leather skirt that you thought was really pretty. Nate's eyes followed your gaze and he immediately started searching for something he wanted you to try on.
Sure, a jeans skirt might be a good start as well, since it might make you feel a bit more comfortable and at least show off your legs, but the leather skirt was just absolutely slutty in his eyes. He didn't want you to walk around at school -or anywhere for that matter- like that, like you're 'asking for it'.
While you walked towards the two skirts, Nate walked towards another section. He picked out a pastel pink short sleeve top, with a bow in the middle and a sweetheart neckline. He smirked as he imagined you inside the rather tight top, knowing that he's the only guy that would be near you while all the other boys could only dream of being close to you.
He then picked out a pair of black flats, which he knew you wouldn't be opposed to, simply because of the color alone, white stockings and a white and pink plaid mini skirt.
Then he walked over to you, as you still looked at the various skirts. "y/n, your outfit is ready!" Nate exclaimed once he was behind you, and you couldn't help but flinch as he pulled you out of your daydream.
You turned around and looked at his full hands, trying not to grimace at the bright colours. The shoes looked alright however, and where the only dark piece of clothing. "Nate, that won't suit me," you said as he handed you the clothes over "are you sure you want me to try it on?" you didn't even finish the question before he nodded.
You sighed before walking towards the changing room. "I'll wait outside until you're done." he said before you closed the door.
Once it was closed you sighed once more and started to undress. You liked Nate, more than just in a friendly platonic way, and if any other guy would've told you to dress up like that, you definitely would've refused.
But Nate did so many nice things for you, the least you could do was to make him laugh for a bit. Because you already expected that that's what he'll do once he sees you in this outfit.
Once you were left in your underwear you looked into the mirror, feeling insecure. You didn't like your body at all. You just weren't shaped like the girls on the cheer squad, and you also didn't seem to have their proportions. And now you had to wear a skirt that would expose your huge legs and belly.
You felt sick at the thought of Nate seeing you in this outfit. You looked at the skirt and panicked because what if he thought you're skinnier, and he picked the wrong size? You'd have to tell him to get you a size bigger, and it would be super embarrassing.
You put on the top first and gulped when you noticed how tight it was, your chest on display. But you were sure it was supposed to sit a bit tighter. Then you shakily grabbed the skirt and put it on, and surprisingly it closed and sat perfectly fine. Except for the fact that it was quite short.
You then put on the stockings which ended right above your knee, and the shoes. You looked into the mirror again and turned to the side, throwing various poses to check it out from different angles.
And then you frowned, because for some reason the fit looked pretty cute, but... would you actually go out like this? Definitely no- "Are you ready?" Nate asked impatiently. You started to contemplate whether or not you wanted Nate to actually see you like that.
"Um... y-yes but it looks really stupid i'm gonna undress again-""No!" he almost yelled, startling you "Please let me see, I bet it looks good." he rolled his eyes, glad that you couldn't see him behind that door.
He liked that you weren't too confident or too sure of yourself and needed his reassurance, but he really wished you'd actually listen to him right now.
And then you finally opened the door "Come in.." and it really took everything in him to not rip the door open and gawk at you.
He gently opened the door and looked at you, his eyes wandering from your head, which was hung low as if in shame, to your exposed cleavage, to the way the stockings hugged your legs, to your shoes.
He had to control himself or else he'd pop a boner right here, right in front of you, because, god you looked so pretty. With the way your hands were fidgeting again just like the first time he saw you. You looked so shy and submissive under his gaze.
"You look so pretty..." he said in a serious tone, so serious in fact, that you immediately looked up at him. "Really? I feel kinda..." you didn't dare to finish the sentence.
The last time you called yourself fat in front of him, he almost lost it. He got just as serious as he was right now, saying that you looked fine and that there was absolutely nothing wrong with you.
Sure you weren't shaped like Maddy was, and you didn't have the perfect thigh gap, but Nate was aware that you were extremely pretty nonetheless. You were almost perfect, and everything that wasn't perfect would be taken care of.
Like your style.
This was a small step for him but a huge one for you, and it would be an even bigger step for you to dress like that on the daily, but he's sure he can help you with that.
"Seriously, you look absolutely.. wow." he added, and it only got you more flustered. Maybe dressing like this isn't so bad if Nate thinks it's pretty, hell even if he's the only who thinks so, his words affected you more than anything anyone at East Highland High could possibly say. "Wow.. Thank you.."
He cleared his throat and took a step closer, towering over you even more. "You obviously don't have to listen to me,” he lied “but... I personally think it looks better than your usual dark outfits." When you looked back into the mirror he continued "You shouldn't hide behind those… wide pants and loose tops, you should wear more outfits like this and show everyone how pretty you look."
When he saw you smile, he knew he had you where he wanted you. It wasn't just a forced smile, it was a real one, a flustered one. You loved that he found you pretty, even if you couldn't see it for yourself. And he knew how important his opinion was to you.
Hearing his compliments alone made you want to change your style a little, just so that he doesn't change his opinion. "You really think this fits me?" You asked one more time to make sure that he actually meant it.
He nodded eagerly placing his hands onto your shoulders "I promise." He felt like he could melt with the way you were looking up at him "I would never lie to you, you know that, right?" As if in trance you looked into his eyes and nodded.
"Yeah of course." You smiled up at him, feeling so small in front of him. "I'll try to check for cheaper options though, if you don't mind. Maybe something that isn't from an expensive boutique." you chuckled. He frowned instantly before responding "No, keep the outfit, I'll pay for it."
You shook your head right away, thinking back to the expensive things he had bought you already. "Nate, you need to stop spending so much money on me, I mean it. I highly doubt that i'm the only friend you spend that much money on."
Nate tried not to laugh at your statement. Of course you were the only person he spent that much money on.
As if he'd buy McKay, or any of his other 'friends' for that matter, anything above 10 bucks. "Y/n, I promise I’m not spending too much money." You wanted to believe him, but deep down you knew why Nate did all this.
Or at least you thought you did.
He was used to being used for money by his friends, there couldn't be another explanation, it had to be the reason. Why else would he feel the need to buy you, who he saw as his friend, so many expensive things?
"And also I kinda forced you to try it on, it's the right thing to do, trust me." You sighed shaking your head in disbelief "Fine, but you really don't have to, you know that?" He nodded as a smile made its way onto his lips.
He wished he could kiss you right now, but needless to say that wasn't possible yet. He couldn't wait for the day he would finally have you to himself, safe and happy with him. Walking next to you, with your hand in his, he could already imagine Cassie's and Maddy's faces when they see the two of you.
Nate wasn't blind nor oblivious, he saw the way Cassie eyed you like she wanted to murder you, or the way Maddy would shake her head whenever she looked at the two of you walking down the hallway.
Sure he had to come up with a plausible story before one of them could get to you without him noticing, and ruin his perfect plan. He honestly doesn't know what would happen to them if they decided to ruin his plan.
But that wasn't important right now.
What mattered was that you finally owned the perfect outfit, only because of him, and you’d only wear it for him too. You didn't even talk back or hesitate as much as he had expected.
Everything was going according to plan, and it was only a matter of time until you would cave in fully and listen to him all the time.
Tumblr media
The next day you got ready for school, and decided to put on the outfit Nate had gotten you the day prior, but combined with a long cardigan to prevent you from flashing anyone at school.
Not to mention your mom who would probably freak out once she saw your outfit for school.
You brushed your hair, and put on the earrings Nate bought you previously. They were beautiful, dangling bows with a small diamond in the middle.
You told Nate he didn't have to buy them for you and that you'd find a cheaper variant online, but he insisted nonetheless.
You wondered what it would be like to be his girlfriend as you applied your lipstick.
Not that you'd actually ever be his girlfriend. He probably wouldn't even consider dating me.. was all you could think. And you also wouldn't ever consider actually dating him.
What if you'd have to move again? It wouldn't only break your heart, but his too.
"Y/n?" Your mom pulled you out of your thoughts as she stood in front of your now open door -because knocking was completely overrated anyways.
She gave you a disapproving look as her eyes moved up and down your frame. You hadn't put on the cardigan yet, so you could only assume what she's thinking. "What are you wearing?" She finally spoke.
You sighed as you looked down at your feet. "Mom I-" She immediately shook her head "Nate told you to wear this, didn't he?" You groaned in frustration, all hopes of avoiding any confrontation now gone.
Your mom scoffed at your lack of response. "Have you seen yourself? You look like..." You raised your head and looked at your mom "Like what?" She crossed her arms and sighed "Like someone else!"
You knew that this wasn't what came to her mind first, but decided not to comment on it. "No one forced me to wear this. I wanted to wear this." Your mom frowned, not believing you one bit.
And even if you wanted to go to school like that, she felt sick at the thought of all the boys seeing her daughter in such an outfit. "Get changed, right now."  Was all she said before turning around and leaving your room.
You stomped after her "I'm going to be late to school if I change now!" you yelled as you followed her into the kitchen where your dad sat, completely unfazed by the argument which was taking place.
"That's your own fault, and don't yell at me like that." She responded, not even looking at you. "Mom, I'm not going to change."
She turned around once she grabbed her mug from the kitchen counter. "Oh but you are already. You are changing, because you would never wear something like this, especially not to school."
"Am I not allowed to change my style once in a while? You never approve of the way I dress anyways so why are you making a big deal out of this now?." She shook her head once again "You don't get it, y/n. You're... changing, as in ‘you’re becoming someone that you’re not’!" you scoffed in disbelief "I'm a teenager, of course I'm changing."
You turned away from your parents, and made your way to the hallway to put your shoes on. Once you reached your shoes you heard footsteps following you "You're really gonna go to school like that?" Your mom asked.
Once you slipped into one shoe you turned around and nodded. "You're grounded young lady, I hope you're aware of that." You slipped into the other shoe as you responded "I've been grounded my entire life, mom. Try harder." you said as you pushed past her to get your backpack.
Your mother just stood in the hallway, completely baffled. But before she could think of anything to say, you left the house already. Quickly making your way to Nate's truck.
Nate loved picking you up from home.
He wished you'd let him pick you up anywhere anytime, no matter where you were, but you only let him pick you up when you both had the same lessons in the morning.
He had told you that he'd pick you up even if you started earlier than him, but you immediately brushed it off.
Once you saw him your frown disappeared and you tried to smile again.
But Nate noticed. He always noticed when you were frowning, and when he saw your outfit he could already imagine what or specifically who made you frown.
To say that Nate disliked your parents would be an understatement. Whenever he would come over to your place, your mom would eye him and make snarky remarks.
Not only that, but she would sometimes enter your room -without knocking of course- every ten minutes to check on you, always with some sort of excuse as to why, just to make sure that the two of you weren't doing anything she would disapprove of.
He couldn't even hug you goodbye when he'd leave because when he did it once, your mom eyed him as if he was hurting you.
And your dad? He didn't know if he hated him even more.
He was barely there when Nate came over, and whenever you'd talk about him you would complain about him never caring about your arguments with your mom. He simply stayed out of it until it would annoy him, then he'd simply tell his wife to 'calm down' and that you 'shouldn't overreact'
And if you still wouldn't stop fighting with her, he'd simply get up and smoke outside or drive off to god knows where.
Having an overbearing mother and an absent father didn't do you any good, he'd gladly just have you move in with him, but his dad was probably even worse to live with than yours was.
"Everything alright?" Nate asked once you stepped inside the car, put your seatbelt on and sighed. You nodded, not looking at him "My mom's just mad at me because I'm wearing this to school today.." you explained as you fidgeted with your skirt.
That's when you noticed that you totally forgot to put on your cardigan in the heat of the moment. You mentally face palmed, knowing that you'd have to walk around like that without being able to hide at least a little bit of your body.
Nate nodded as he started the car. "I'm sorry to hear that... She’s always picking fights with you for no reason..." You nodded as you looked out of the passenger's window.
He looked at your thighs, which were just slightly on display, and fuck he would do everything just to touch them.
He decided to test the waters and reassuringly placed his hand on your thigh. You flinched slightly, not expecting the sudden gesture, but you didn't react in any way, which relieved him a lot.
"Don't be too hard on yourself, yeah? You can always come to my place or call me and I'll be there to pick you up and get your mind off things, alright?" You nodded with a soft smile on your lips.
You slowly turned back to him "Where have you been all my life? I would've needed you way sooner." Nate tried to contain his happiness.
You telling him you needed him, letting him touch your thigh and wearing his outfit? He was sure that he was the happiest man alive right now.
"Yeah, I also wish I could've been there sooner. But I'm here now, and I'm not gonna leave again." he assured. You placed your hand atop his on your thigh and nodded "Thank you.."

Everything was going so so well, until this Jake guy from your arts class decided to speak to you. He must've seen you with Nate, the two of you were almost inseparable after all. Did he have a death wish or something?
The way he looked at you as well, it made him sick.
You didn't even notice it, you were your usual friendly self, telling him something Nate couldn't make out from his seat, two rows behind the two of you. But it couldn't have possibly been funny enough for him to laugh so hard, that he had to place his hand on your shoulder for support.
He never cared much about Jake, never even talked to the guy, but he'd love to beat the shit out of him right now. Only stopping when you tell him to.
But based on your personality, you'd probably stop him right away.
Nate had more than enough however, when the guy still had his hand on your shoulder after ten seconds.
Nate got up, the sound of the chair scraping along the tiles on the floor so loud, that both you and Jake turned around right away.
Nate stared daggers into Jake as he made his way to the two of you, resulting in Jake's eyes widening slightly and him finally removing his hand from your shoulder "Move." was all Nate needed to say for Jake to smile at you one last time before immediately getting up and walking to his friend's desk.
You frowned at Nate not sure what had gotten into him. "Are you mad? Is everything okay?" You asked, worry evident on your face.
He was more than happy that you reacted this way, instead of asking him what the fuck was wrong with him for scaring the poor guy like that.
He shook his head before smiling "Everything's fine don't worry.. Jake's just really flirty with every girl that he sees, I just wanted to protect you." he reasoned.
You frowned, not aware that Jake has ever flirted with any girls in your classes, or you to begin with. He just seemed friendly, but you brushed it off nonetheless, knowing that Nate probably knew him better than you did.

"Wait, you’ve never had a boyfriend?" Nate asked in feigned disbelief, as you two sat in his living room after school one day. You shook your head in response as you waited for Nate to laugh at you.
Except, he didn't.
It only made him happier that you finally confirmed his theory.
He didn't expect you to have any ex-partners, since you told him you never really socialized or had stable friendships with anyone in the past.
He figured you also hadn't been in a relationship as well then. But your confirmation only made him happier. And you didn't seem like the type to just sleep with the next best boy you meet so he figured you also must be a virgin.
And he was eating it up.
Whenever he'd jerk himself off, he’d think about you and how fucking amazing you'd feel around him. How shy you would be in front of him once you two got intimate for the first time.
And after every time he came, he craved you even more. It took everything within him to refrain from picking you up and carrying you to his bed whenever you came over.
But he always told himself that the wait would be worth it.
He'd wait just for you, no matter how long it'd take.
"I just never got to form that kind of connection with anyone, since I barely talk to people.." You said as you played with the hem of your red sundress.
Yeah, you also started wearing dresses.
You told yourself that Nate wasn't the reason for it, but you knew that without him, you would have never considered wearing them in the first place.
You saw the way he looked at that one cheerleader, during one of his games last week and despite the fact that you never wanted to date him, you couldn't help but feel the urge to be... perfect in front of him.
Nate also noticed that.
Before, you'd just wear your baggy jeans to school, preferring comfort over style. But ever since last week, you seemed to constantly wear dresses and skirts.
Not only that, but you also did your best to appeal to him. You wore more make up, you shaved your arms despite not being too hairy to begin with. You put so much effort into looking even more beautiful than you were already.
He wasn't sure why though, because he didn't push you that much after you went to the boutique. He was praying that you only do it for him and not to impress any other boy at school though.
"Besides, it's useless anyways. Who knows when my father is gonna move again.." You said, suddenly feeling sad as you thought about your life without Nate.
Nate considered that as well.
He didn't like the idea at all and he'd do anything to stop that from happening. To stop your parents from taking you away from him.
Hell, he'd buy you a flat somewhere if he has to, or have you move in with him if that's what it took.
Nate took your hand in his, brushing his thumb over your knuckles "Hey, don't think about that alright? We'll find a solution if that should happen." he said reassuringly.
You nodded, a small smile on your face. You loved it when Nate was affectionate. You seemed to be the only person he was genuinely nice to.
"What about you though? I bet you had plenty of relationships." You grinned, his hand still comfortably wrapped around yours.
Nate chuckled "Yeah I didn't have that many relationships, but the ones I had were… intense." He answered "Oh, that bad?" you asked as you frowned at him.
He was more than glad you asked, because now he could finally tell you about Maddy and Cassie in a subtle way.
Once he was done, you’d never even consider believing them.
He nodded in response "Yeah... I was with Maddy for a pretty long time, do you know her?" he asked, hoping to find out whether she's talked to you or not.
You thought for a moment before nodding your head. "I think she's in one of my classes. Maddy... Perez?" Nate nodded, swallowing hard.
He was hoping you didn't know her, praying that the both of you never cross paths. But that was hopeless considering how popular she was.
"She's.. definitely something." You chuckled dryly as you couldn't help but compare yourself to her.
You didn't stand a chance with Nate if that's his type.
You always thought she was really pretty, and since she was on the cheerleading team, you knew she must be popular too. You always saw her with her group of friends and you admired her style, her beauty, her confidence, everything.
But she always seemed to give you weird looks and now you could imagine why. She probably was still in love with Nate, and didn’t like him having female friends.
Nate noticed the smile on your face falter just a slight bit, and he could only assume that she must've treated you badly that bitch, always causing fucking problems
"What do you mean?" You shrugged, unsure of how to explain it "She just... She's really pretty and I like her style. I wanted to compliment her before but she always gives me this look." You responded, your gaze locked onto the carpet.
Nate frowned at the thought of her.
How dare she even look your way? And how dare she make you feel uncomfortable? He could imagine why she was looking at you though, probably annoyed by how much time you and him spend, and how obedient you were already.
Something she could never do.
"But maybe I'm just imagining things, I might be a bit paranoid.. She's really pretty though, I bet the two of you looked great together.." Nate cringed at your words.
He couldn’t stand her, and the thought of everything he did for her, despite her acting like a bitch all the time, made his blood boil. The sound of her voice alone gave him chills, reminding him of how often she’d yell at him in front of her friends.
He's sure that you and him would look way better together.
"I'm honestly glad we're not together anymore.. She was awfully mean, and just so ungrateful." he sighed as he looked to the ground. "She constantly blamed me for everything when she was clearly at fault, fuck, she even..."
You weren't sure if you've seen Nate so vulnerable before, so hurt and all because of that girl. "…She even cheated on me at a party, in front of everyone, just because we had an argument." your eyes widened.
You did not expect Maddy to be such a bad person. Especially to someone like Nate, he seemed like he'd give his all to the person he loves. He was giving you his all and you weren't even his girlfriend.
You removed your hand from his, and scooted closer to him, wrapping your arm around his firm back and leaning your head against his arm. "I'm so sorry Nate.. you didn't deserve that.." You said as you stroked his back.
Nate suddenly got goosebumps, not expecting you to hug him like that. He was convinced he deserved an oscar for that performance, that's for sure. He leaned into your touch, enjoying how close he was to you, and the sweet scent of your perfume.
"It's alright... I got over it eventually. Sometimes people just disappoint you and you have to learn to live with it." he responded.
Which was an absolute fucking lie.
He still wanted to hurt her for humiliating him like that back at the pool, and he also still prays for her downfall and a chance to humiliate her just as bad.
You lifted your head and looked at him "We don't have to speak about her anymore if you don't want to. I'll even slap her for you if you want." you said half jokingly.
You'd never purposefully hurt anyone, or risk being the center of attention at school. But you just wanted to see Nate happy. He seemed so sad right now and even if he said he's over it, you knew he wasn't.
Nate chuckled before wrapping his arm around your shoulder and pulling you flat against his chest "There's no need for that. I'm just glad that you're here right now, you're all I need." He said as he stroked your shoulder.
You tried not to freak out.
The fact that he held you so close and literally told you that you're all he needed made you feel things, you didn't want to feel.
You didn't want to feel like he liked you more than just in a platonic way. You didn't want to get your hopes up, hell you didn't even want to have a crush on him.
You were so sure that you didn't have a chance, especially when he told you who his ex girlfriend was, but then why did he treat you like that? Why did he tell you you were all he needed?
“Do you also know Cassie, by chance?” he asked after a moment of silence. You thought for a moment, before shaking your head. He sighed, both in relief and in annoyance as he remembered her.
“Cassie and I also used to date. But she turned into an absolute psycho after some time. She was totally obsessed with me…” Nate explained before he sighed. “If she ever talks to you, tell me, alright? Same with Maddy, don’t talk to any of them.” he added suddenly very serious.
You nodded in response “What exactly did she do..? If you don’t mind me asking.” You asked carefully, since it seemed to be a touchy subject for him.
“She was.. possessive, unpredictable, and insecure. I was scared of her sometimes I can’t even lie... She just has this insane look in her eyes, at first I didn’t notice it but as our relationship progressed, I couldn’t ignore it anymore.”
Your eyes widened once again. If she really was that possessive over Nate, what if she thinks you two are together? Would she actually hurt you? You swallowed hard at the thought.
Nate observed your reaction, taking notice of how pale you became suddenly He didn't mean to scare you, but he had to warn you, in order to protect you from both of them.
"Jeez, that's... actually scary." you chuckled dryly, not sure how to react to the newfound information. "Don't worry though, I'll protect you from them, you got nothing to worry about." he said as he looked at you longingly.
Would it be too soon to ask you to be his now?
Probably the wrong moment to ask you, since he just told you about his crazy ex girlfriends. But he didn't want to wait any longer, he couldn't wait much longer.
Not when his need for you became stronger and stronger.
Sure, being your friend and spending time with you was amazing. You were sweet, funny and you wouldn't refuse him a thing. But it wasn't enough for him, not really.
He needed to act soon, because it frustrated him more and more each day. Nate just had to catch you talking to a boy from your class and it made him furious.
Not to mention how sexually frustrated he was.
His hand was not enough to satisfy him anymore, he craved so much more and that only caused him to be insufferable at times, unable to relax and always in a bad mood.
He really tried his hardest not to lash out on you like he did on McKay or his teammates. He was sure that if Cassie dared to approach him or you he'd absolutely lose his shit.
“Didn’t know you were home yet.”
You and Nate turned towards the person who just entered the living room in unison. It was Nate’s brother Aaron.
Great.
Nate rolled his eyes and sighed. Why was he home already? “Yeah, school ended earlier today.” He replied drily. He did not want Aaron to interact with you in any way, since he knew how off putting he could be.
“Let’s go,” Nate got up as he looked at you with a cold expression. You knew not to ask any questions when he got like this, so you just nodded and got up from the sofa.
“Woah, who are you? New girlfriend?” Your eyes widened as you laughed nervously “Oh, n-no we’re just really good friends.” You stated as you smiled at his brother.
And it bothered Nate so much. Why were you smiling at him? He knew you only wanted to be polite, but it bothered him because Aaron wasn’t worthy of your politeness or smile.
He wanted to be the only guy you smile at, even though that’s basically impossible with how fucking nice you were.
Aaron smiled back at you, as he playfully tilted his head to the side “That’s surprising, d’you have a boyfriend already?” He asked before he looked you up and down “Because you’re definitely Nate’s type.”
The room fell silent for a moment, mostly because you didn’t know what to say to that at all, and because Nate tried his hardest not to turn into an aggressive asshole in front of you.
You once again chuckled nervously, before you swallowed the lump in your throat, feeling like your heart would jump out any moment. “Um… I don’t have a boyfriend and I’m sure that I’m not Nate’s type.”
You didn’t even know why you said the last part, because you could tell that Nate was fuming more and more with each word you said to him. Before Aaron could respond, Nate did “Alright enough, Aaron, we’ll head upstairs now if you don’t mind.”
Aaron sighed exaggeratedly “That’s too bad, I really enjoyed the company of…?” he said as he looked towards you now “Y/n.” You responded, and Aaron nodded “Y/n, go ahead, you know where my room is.” Nate commanded.
You really wish it didn’t, but his demanding tone and sudden change of persona really did something to you. It excited you in a way.
You nodded and walked towards the hallway, where Aaron was standing. Before you could pass him though, he moved in front of you, looking down at you with a predatory grin “You know, if Nate doesn’t want you, I’d be totally down-”
Your eyes widened in response as you heard Nate stomping towards the two of you.
Nate had more than enough by now, “Shut the fuck up already!” He almost yelled. Aaron chuckled “I was just joking around why’re you so mean in front of your cute little friend?” He mocked before smirking at you again.
Nate turned towards you, this time even more irritated “Go upstairs, now.” You gulped and finally moved towards the stairs again, quickly making your way up.
You were sitting on Nate’s bed as you could hear his deep voice downstairs and you were sure he’d actually beat his brother up. You couldn’t make out what he was saying except for a very loud “Stay the fuck away from her!”
You didn’t have to wait for long until Nate entered the room, slamming the door shut behind him. He eyed you with a mixture of possessiveness and longing but also with a hint of softness.
His mind was currently occupied with fantasies about fucking you on his bed, while you moan about how good he feels, and how he’s the only one you need, while his brother is forced to listen to your moans that echo through the entire house. Knowing he could never be lucky enough to be in his spot.
He wondered if you’d be into that? If you had this corrupt side that no one knew about. Maybe you fantasized about him as well?
“Sorry about my brother, he’s a fucking asshole.” Nate stated as he walked towards you. “I hope he didn’t make you feel too uncomfortable..” He added as his gaze softened.
You shook your head, your signature smile on your lips “No, don’t worry. Are you okay though? I hope you guys didn’t fight too hard..”
He loved how considerate you were despite everything that happened. Despite Nate being somewhat rude to you earlier, and his brother making you uncomfortable, you still cared for Nate.
“No, not much more than we usually do, don’t worry.” He sighed as he plopped down on the bed next to you. “Wanna watch a movie?” He asked as he tilted his head to the side. You smiled and nodded in response.
Nate turned his TV on and grabbed the remote before he plopped down onto his bed again. He scooted towards you, wrapping his arm around you and you could’ve sworn you’ve never felt more at peace than in moments like these. Nestled against him, comfortably on his bed.
And Nate felt the same way, if not even more at peace.
You were his escape from his fucked up family just as much as he was yours, and you were the only one he truly cared for besides himself. He couldn’t wait until he could finally call you his.
In his eyes you were his already, from the moment he first laid eyes on you. And he’s come so far, molded you into perfection. There’s no way he’d let you go.
All that was left now, was to make you officially his.

2007
Leah Williamson x brothers best friend!reader
Warnings: thought I better post something so here’s part 2 of 2005, slow burn to shit
You huffed taking a breath after passing the ball up the pitch to find Jacobs feet letting out a smile as you sprinted towards the boy ready to congratulate him on the goal "what a goal Jacob." Jacob grabbed you squeezing you tightly "that long ball assist Y/n I swear you have gotten so good." The pair smiled at each other before hearing Amanda and Natalie screaming at them to get back to their positions as their opponents took tip to restart.
Leah couldn’t help but laughed at the six year old holding her medal looking at it like she had won the World Cup "happy with it then." You looked up at the now ten year old "I know it doesn't compare to any of your Arsenal medals Lee but this is my first one." Leah smiled grabbing the medal to look at it "nah this medal is better then any of my ones trust me." You couldn't help but smile happily as you grabbed the older girls hand walking to the car. "Hey don't leave me behind." The pair turned to Jacob as he ran up holding his golden boot trophy under his arm "Leah, Y/n guess what Dad told me there's trials at Tottenham and that I could go he signed me up already." Leah smiled at her younger brother "that's great buddy you will do amazing, but Y/n." You looked up at Leah "what do we think of Tottenham." You looked around quickly for any parents that might scold you before whispering to Leah "shit." Leah laughed before continuing on "and what do we think of shit." You couldn’t help but smile at Jacob as he pretend to be annoyed "Tottenham." Leah laughed swinging her hand that was holding Y/n’s "that's my girl." Jacob let out a laugh "no it's no she's my best friend." Leah smiled tugging you towards her "oh yeah bet you can't take her away from me." The pair gotten into a friendly fight of pulling and pushing you between each other as you laughed.
Jacob had been gone all day at the Tottenham trial as you sat in the front garden waiting for any sign of him. Amanda looked out her window watching the younger girl smiling softly before going out to you "hi missus what are you doing sat out here." You looked up smiling softly at the older woman "waiting for Jacob so we can play." Amanda looked at you confused"oh honey he won't be home till Sunday night  did he not tell you his dad and him are going to the match tomorrow after his trials today." You sighed standing up dusting yourself off letting out a quite oh in disappointment, Amanda's eyes softened as she looked at the girl "I'll tell you what is your Mum home." You nodded "right then let's head inside while I talk to her for a second." You sat in between Charlie and Melia tapping your leg against the couch as you anxiously waited to see what the older women were talking about, “Y/n stop moving your leg it’s so annoying” Melia snarled as she let out a huff you apologised quietly stopping your movements before your mum called for you "Hey Pumpkin could you come here for a second." You raced off the couch happy to get away from your sisters and into the kitchen. "I was just talking to your Mum and Leah and I have a spare ticket to the Arsenal women's match in Meadow park tomorrow as well why don't you come with me to Leah's training for Arsenal you can see what it's like tonight and your Mum has said if I think your good you can have a sleepover yeah." Your eyes lit up like you had just been told you was getting a puppy "can I really that would be so cool." Amanda smiled at the young girl "go get your clothes and head over to me when your ready then we will go get leah alright." You didn't need to be told twice as you raced up the stairs.
You stood on the sidelines watching the older girls go through their drills as Amanda stood beside her "you ok Y/n." You didn't take your eyes off the scene in front of you but nodded letting out a soft hum. The girls had broken into pair's practicing their passing when Leah looked around realising they where a player down "Lucy pair off with Casey I'll get a new partner." Leah walked over towards her Mum and the younger girl "everything alright Bubs." Leah smiled nodding at her mum "all good we are just a player short Y/n want to pass with me." Your eyes sparkled nodding your head before grabbing her hand as the older girl led you over before grabbing the ball "right stand here and we are doing long passes y/n just like in the back garden yeah." You nodded getting ready to receive the ball "and don't worry if yours goes the wrong way alright” Amanda couldn't help the smile that took over her face as she watched the pair pass back and forth you concentrating extra hard trying to make sure you could connect it to Leah as best as possible. "That was perfect y/n now this one is chipping it yeah” you nodded again getting ready to receive the ball. Leah's teammates watched on amazed as the six year old connected some of the balls to Leah as well as received it on a first touch no problem.
You was passed out in the back of the car on the drive home as the trio made their way back both Leah and Amanda keeping an eye on the younger girl making sure she was comfortable "I think you have a teammate in a few years Bubba." Leah smiled watching you sleep.
You woke up excitement coursing through her with the realisation that they would be going to an Arsenal match today. Leah groaned at the sound of her door opening "Lee it's match day." Leah let out a huff "I know but shhh it's not time to get up yet y/n go back to sleep." You sighed before looking at Leah “can I stay in here.” Leah sighed pulling open her duvet “come on.” You smiled running over to her and snuggling into Leah's chest closing your eyes as Leah welcomed it knowing she would get a lie in.
The pair had been screaming the minute Arsenal where lead out by Kelly Smith all the way to the final whistle when Leah had grabbed your hand pulling her in front of her as the players began their lap "stand here they might come over then mum can take a picture yeah." You nodded watching excitedly as Alex Scott came over "hi there what's your name "Y/n oh my god your Alex Scott you’re my favourite." Alex smiled looking at Leah "who's this then "you smiled at the older girl "this is my second best friend Leah she's a massive Arsenal fan." Alex laughed at Leah's offended face at the second place she had just been awarded "shall we take a photo and sign something." You nodded turning to smile at the camera Amanda was holding beside Leah grabbing her hand as a comfort before turning back to Alex "I don't have anything for you to sign but Leah has her jersey." Alex smiled signing Leah's jersey before looking around "I'll tell you what have mine I'll sign it." You nodded you head enthusiastically muttering out a thank you before Alex began taking off her jersey. Leah couldn't help but laugh as she watched the likes of Kelly Smith and Rachel Yankey make there way over offering to sign the jersey and Isla refusing but taking a photo instead stating it was an Alex Scott jersey and she was the only signature allowed (something that both you and Alex would laugh about shortly after becoming friends)
The excitement of the Arsenal match lingered in the air as you and Leah made your way back home. "That was amazing, Lee!" you exclaimed, your eyes still sparkling from meeting some of the players. Leah grinned, her excitement matching yours. "I'm glad you enjoyed it, Y/n. Maybe one day, you'll be out there playing with them." The thought made your heart race with excitement. "I'd love that, Lee! I'll train hard, just like you do." Leah tousled your hair affectionately. "I have no doubt about that, Y/n. You're a natural."
As the days passed, you found yourself spending more and more time on the pitch, honing your skills and soaking in every bit of advice Leah offered. You were determined to improve, fueled by your passion for the game and the dream of one day playing for Arsenal (or Man United) just like Leah.
At Leah's next training session, you were invited to join in a mini-match with some of the younger players. Your heart pounded with excitement as you stepped onto the field, wearing a borrowed Arsenal jersey that was a bit too big for you. But none of that mattered as you chased after the ball, dribbling past defenders with a skill that surprised even yourself.
Leah watched proudly from the sidelines, cheering you on with Amanda by her side. As the final whistle blew, you collapsed onto the grass, exhausted but exhilarated. "You were amazing out there, Y/n!" Leah exclaimed, rushing over to give you a high-five. You grinned up at her, feeling a sense of accomplishment like never before.
That night, as you lay in bed replaying the day's events in your mind, you couldn't shake the feeling of pure joy that filled your heart. Whether it was scoring goals on the pitch or simply spending time with Leah.

summary: After one night of respite, the reader confronts the day to realize the shadows haven't quite disappeared yet.
There's a timid sunbeam lighting up your cozy little room. Nothing scary or menacing in view. You look over to your nightstand with barely opened eyes to see your mushroom light still on. The clock on your desk shines the time. 7:00am.
7am?!
You sit straight up, immediately noticing the big dent on the left side of your bed. Yes, of course, Jacob came in last night. Your cheeks flush with the thought of having slept so soundly next to the heaping mountain of muscles that is your friend. You feel so confused and well-rested. For the first time in a few weeks, you awoke calmly. This might have been the best night of sleep of your whole damn life, and it's 7:00am! You managed to wake up before your alarm. You wouldn't have to be rushing to school for once. You were usually only able to fall asleep when the sun started shining and chased away the threatening shadows of the night. So, being late to school was a recurring occurrence for you. For once, your father wouldn't have to come in to try and wake you up. You were pushing away your blankets to get up when there was a knock on your door before it slowly cracked open.
"Sweetheart, time to wake up. Don't want to be late for sch-"
Your father's traits lifted up in surprise, and honestly, you couldn’t really blame the man. You didn't keep track of all the mornings he found you all tangled up in your blankets, hair sprawled everywhere like a bird's nest, saliva drooling down your chin.
"Did you sleep well?"
You nodded eagerly, a sincere smile spreading on your lips. Charlie seemed incredibly thrilled by that piece of news. He was no stranger to the nightmares haunting your nights and was brokenhearted to see you so tired and on edge all the time.
"Well, then. Better get down and eat breakfast before you head to school." He gave you a timid smile before softly closing your door.
You had your first breakfast with your dad in a long time. He was particularly chirpy, and you kept catching his relieved gaze. You left for school on time and had a really great day. You felt awake and energized. Participating in class and your little social circle once again felt like a rush. Your efforts were welcomed with gigantic smiles from your teachers and friends. For a second, you thought the weeks of anguish and terror might finally be behind you. Maybe a night with Jacob had been the only thing you needed to put this whole thing behind you. However, as the sun went down and shadows stretched on the ground, you got more flinchy and twitchy. Once more, you turned at every odd sound, looking over your shoulder as you left the school grounds. You almost ran to your car, locking all the doors, and left a trail of dust with how fast you headed back home on the powdery roads of Forks.
Dinner with your father was much more somber than the breakfast you shared this morning. You felt like a dagger to your heart, his disappointment when he saw you jump as he caught you by surprise in the kitchen. You usually were always careful about hiding your internal conflict from Charlie. Yet the frustration you felt tonight weighed much more than the want to hide everything from him.
Once dinner was over, you climbed the stairs with heavy steps, feeling the dread in your body get worse the closer you got to your bedroom. You opened the door to find a space very different than the one you had left when you awoke this morning. Your still unmade bed didn't feel so inviting tonight. Long gone were the rays of sunshine that scared the shadows away. The room you faced was now dark and gloomy. Nothing about it felt safe or secure.
You rushed in to turn on your mushroom light and sat on your bed, trying to summon all your courage to breathe calmly.
It's over now. Nightmares are just that. They aren't real. I'm safe now.
No matter how much you would repeat it, those words felt empty and fake. You got up, put your pajamas on, and as you were ready to get in bed, you noticed a piece of clothing jutting out from under one of the pillows. You lifted it up to find the T-shirt you lent to Jacob. He didn't keep it. He left your house shirtless so you could keep the stupid piece of clothing. You grabbed it and held it up to your nose. Immediately, your senses were overpowered by his woodsy scent. You fell to your bed, shirt still pressed on your face as you let a deep sigh leave your lungs.
Grabbing your phone on the night table, you hesitated. Your fingers hovered over the keyboard before you closed the device and threw it away.
The clock had just struck midnight when you heard something scratching outside. You almost had a heart attack when you saw Jacob hanging onto your window, motioning for you to open it.
"Jacob Black. What the hell are you doing? Do you want to kill me?!"
Your tall friend let out a deep chuckle as he swiftly stepped into your room without making a noise. His gaze fell onto the fort you had built yourself. There were pillows and blankets lined all around your bed, a very feeble attempt at a barrier. The tv screen was paused on one of your favorite movie. He gave you a worried look and took a second to really take in the state you were in. You didn't look like the relaxed girl he had, reluctantly, left in a peaceful slumber this morning.
"What?" you defensively crossed your arms on your chest, already sensing where this conversation would be going.
"What are you doing?" he quietly asked, his head slightly leaning on one side.
"I was watching a movie."
You immediately saw a shadow pass in his dark eyes and felt a familiar pain ring in your chest. You couldn't live with disappointing both your father and Jacob. Worse, you couldn't live with the pity in their eyes. If only the bad dreams could stay away.
"What are you doing," you finally asked, a bit more roughly than you had intended.
He hesitated, sensing you had been offended in some way. "I just did a quick run around the perimeter, but then I saw the light open and just wanted to make sure you were okay."
Your expression softened at the concern painted on his handsome face. Fear did make you more on edge, but you knew Jacob had done nothing to deserve that anger. You sighed before plopping down on your bed.
"That's very nice of you, but I am okay. I just didn't feel tired yet."
You felt adamant about telling him of the return of the paranoia. You were already so disappointed in yourself. You couldn't even muster the bravery to be in your room alone at night. What would it even do if you told him the truth? It felt so shameful to ask again for his help, to ask him to watch over you while you were sleeping. Just because, like a child, you were afraid of the dark and the beasts it hid. You were instantly relieved when he gave you a suspicious glance as if he might believe your lie. You gave him your best smile, trying to prove how relaxed you were. You only wanted to chase the worries away from his chocolate eyes.
That could have worked if only the sound of your house creaking under a strong gust of wind and a branch scratching on your window hadn't made you flinch so damn hard.
Jacob's gaze hardened over your tense figure. You expected him to make a comment, to confront you. As you waited anxiously for the ax to drop, he finally walked over to your bed, sat, and pointed to your television.
"May I join you then?"
You initiated him to one of your best comfort movies. It required absolutely no brain power and just helped you feel better. Always a good player, Jake obliged and even seemed to enjoy it. When you were done, you spent another hour just chatting about nothing and everything. You tried hiding your clock from his sight and hoped he wouldn't notice time flying away, but sadly, there wasn't much your figure could hide from his wolfish sight.
"It's getting late. I should probably go," He muttered after an hour of mindless chatting. His dark eyes fixed on your features, you faced each other, forearms tucked under your head while you lay on your side. You couldn't help your shoulders and jaw from tensing up at his words. The happiness and carelessness he had brought you vanished as if it never occurred. Fear crept up in your belly at the thought of being alone in the dark again.
You gave him a tight smile as you nodded. He hesitantly got up, giving you another weird look. You barely registered it, too focused on avoiding falling into a panicked state. He walked to the window, and as you thought he was about to leave, he turned around on a whim.
"I really don't understand you. Even in this state, you won't ask for my help?"
His outburst surprised you and unintentionally made you recoil at the swift motion. He sighed deeply, "Please don't look at me like this. I want to understand. Why don't you want my help?" he repeated, annoyance rippling in waves from his body.
"I- I'm not sure what you're talking about," you responded, determined to hang on to the shred of dignity you had left.
He let out a sarcastic laugh. It was dry and reeked of disdain towards this fluke you were trying to fool him with. "Stop playing Y/n. You reek of fear."
His words were like a punch in the gut. You felt shame hitting you as you realized how stupid you had been.
"See? Your reaction only confirms what I already knew. What I don't understand is why you insist on facing this alone. You can always call me, and I will always come through for you. Have I not proven that?"
"You did, but it's not your responsibility to fix me. To fix this."
"Not my responsibility?" he scoffed. He turned around while dragging his hand through his hair. He was a mix of so many emotions you couldn't pinpoint what was brewing in his brain. He stayed silent for so long that you thought he would leave you like this. You were about to add something when he raised his voice. "I would give everything to go back to that night. To be there by your side. Maybe you wouldn't have to go through that, or at least I would have been the one to rip to shreds that bloodsucker." Flames of rage danced in his eyes while you stood speechless, gawking at him.
You were at a loss for words. You had seen Jake in many different states in your friendship, but he never looked so conflicted. Anger and sadness seemed to be battling out the right to overpower him. For a rare moment, he looked incredibly vulnerable. He was back to being that innocent teenager you had always known. You approached, unsure whether that would make him lash out, but he stayed put, his eyes fixed on the ground. You knew Jacob felt responsible for what happened to you. What you didn't know is that he tortured himself with it. Your heart ached at the thought, and any frustration you had felt up to this point melted.
Softly, you grabbed his hand. "Jacob, look at me."
When he finally turned around and lifted his gaze, tears hung on to the line of his long lashes. The sight of it made your throat close up.
"Why won't you let me care for you," he whispered, inches from you.
His gaze was so deep and carried a tsunami of emotions. Without even thinking about it, you grabbed his face. Both of your hands cradled his soft and warm skin. You saw goosebumps creep up his muscled arms, mirroring the one on yours. Bringing his forehead to your own, you took a deep breath.
"I don't want to be a burden."
Saying the words that'd been ringing in your head for so long felt almost exhilarating while also being incredibly relieving. Contrary to the belief of your messed up head, the world didn't end or break in two once the thought left your lips.
"I've always thought you were such an incredible person and couldn't help but always want to be better for you. Ever since you phased, that feeling only got more intense. You've evolved so much in the past few months, and I'm still old me. When I got attacked, it was the most horrible experience of my life, but it also reinforced that concept. I couldn't even walk from yours to Emily's cabin without being attacked. The boys had to risk their lives to save me. I didn't even get one scratch, and still, I'm afraid of the dark. I'm afraid to sleep alone. I'm afraid if I let my guard down for one second... it'll happen again. Which means that I'll either die or be a burden for you guys once more because I can't even defend myself against something like that. You're already so good to me. I don't want to add this to your list of things to worry about."
Your eyes stayed closed even after you finished and controlled your breathing again. Saying it aloud was incredible, but to open your eyes to face his reaction felt nerve-racking. You were about to when a strong pair of arms wrapped around you.
"You are not and will never be a burden to me." His tone was soft and felt a little strangled. In your dimly lit little room, while the rest of the world was in a peaceful slumber, Jacob's words felt like the only thing that mattered.
He pulled back after a moment but still held you close. "I don't know what gave you the impression that you were a burden. If it ever was something I did, I want to apologize."
"I remember so vividly the look on your face when the boys brought me back to the cabin. You had the same disappointed expression as you have just now. I promise I'm trying to heal as fast I can, but this... this is harder than I thought it would be."
Confusion was now the only emotion on his face, clear as day. "Disappointed? Y/n, I never was disappointed. It was the worst, terrifying, shit your pants kind of fear I've ever felt. It's agony to know you're so ridden with fear. I was disappointed to learn that tonight was still hard for you, not because I think you're not healing fast enough, but because I hoped I finally helped you feel better. I feel so bad you have to live with these memories for your whole life. I just wish I could make them disappear."
That's when you understood the slim difference between disappointment and defeat. One was channeled towards you, and the other wasn't. For Jacob, it had always been directed at himself.
"Jacob, you're the only one who makes me breathe a little easier. You're the only reason I slept soundly last night." A new light illuminated his eyes. You steadied yourself before you continued, your tone slightly hushed. "You've always had that specific calming effect on me. You're the only person who makes things better for me. Ever since we were kids. I have always felt safe with you. You're like my personal haven."
It felt like a big thing to say, but you wanted that sadness to leave his face. You wanted his eyes to be filled with light again, and somehow, it felt right to tell him about all this. He spent so much time worrying about everything and everyone. He deserved to know how appreciated he was. He deserved to know what he meant to you.
Emotion thickened the air. So much so that it felt like you couldn't breathe just right. Your hands slid from his cheeks delicately. You placed one at the nape of his neck while the other grabbed the top of his hair. "Jake, I don't think you even understand how much you mean to me."
Time stood still for a moment. Your eyes focused on each other, and the rest of the world ceased to exist.
"Y/n, I-" his eyes held something heavier. He opened his mouth as if he was about to say something before deciding better of it. It almost looked like it cost him to try and get the words out. He gave up in a huff, and whatever was in his gaze, whatever he thought about, vanished. Some part of you wanted to push him, to ask, but tonight had been a rollercoaster enough. You could let it go for now. He pulled you in for another hug before releasing you a little.
"So, now that we've established that you are not a burden." he started softly.
"And that this is in no way your fault," you added with a grin.
He rolled his eyes, "Uhm. Can you tell me what you actually need? I can stay here with you if you want."
You felt a pang of your old fears scratch at your heart, but you let them all go in one breath. "I would very much like that."
You tucked yourselves in bed for the second night in a row. You hesitated to turn off the light, but always so observant, Jacob assured you it didn't bother him to keep it open. You lay side by side in silence. You were focused on becoming familiar with the ordinary and hazardous sounds an old house made at night when Jacob started to whisper.
"I know you think you aren't as fearless as us, but I can assure you everyone in our tribe thinks you are the bravest person they've ever met. Not many people would feel comfortable hanging out with a bunch of new werewolves."
"Brave or totally crazy," you added while making a wicked-looking face. His eyes disappeared in his bright smile, and you wished you could snap a picture of it.
"No, but really, you're the only one who stayed by my side all throughout my phasing process. No matter how dangerous it was for you. If that's not the definition of bravery, I don't know what is." He turned pensive again while his gaze darkened.
You unwillingly recalled the phasing process of Jacob. All the terrible memories flashed before your eyes. His screams of pain still rang in your ears. You remember distinctly every time you wished to take his place. If you could have taken away some of his pain, you would have in an instant. The least you could do was stay by his side no matter what. You had to fight with Billy and the rest of the pack, but in the end, even they couldn't keep you away. No one could have.
You slid into his arms, and his body tensed under the new touch before quickly relaxing to envelop you in a tight embrace.
"I would never leave you alone," you mumbled in his chest. "I know you like to have this strong and impressive appearance, but inside, you're still the same little Jacob I've always known. I know you need me."
You lightly pressed your lips onto his chest and nuzzled farther into him. Fireworks were exploding in the boy's chest as he returned the gesture with a kiss on your head.
"And Jake?"
"Uhm?"
"Don't think I didn't notice you wanted to tell me something important earlier. For tonight, it's okay, but we'll have to talk about that."

Tumblr media
“Honey, I’m home,” Vada called out, stopping you in your tracks on the way to the bathroom.
You couldn’t help smiling at Vada’s ridiculous phrase that she had started using whenever she got back to the shared apartment. If you were being honest, you couldn’t remember when she had started it; it hadn’t been too long after you had first agreed to rent an apartment together with her friends Mia and Nick. All you knew was one day she practically crashed into the apartment, said her now-famous tagline, and it stuck.
The best part of it all? She only ever said it to you. Never to Mia, never to Nick, only to you. It made your crush on her grow each time, even though you certainly didn’t need the help. Just the words alone had your stomach twisting into knots in the most delicious way.
And that little dumbass didn’t even know what she was doing.
“Don’t you have another class?” You asked with a tilt of your head. It was a bit too early for her to be home, especially on a Tuesday.
“Skipped it,” she said with her cheesy grin that never failed to make your heart race. “Why take Lit when I can have you teach me?”
“That’s not how it works, V,” you chuckled. “I can’t give you credit.”
“But you can- are you getting in the shower?”
There it was; the attention change. It happened a bit sooner than usual, but you weren’t entirely surprised. At first you had been confused at Vada’s change of topic and attention at such a fast pace, but now it was expected. At least she looked cute.
“Yes I am,” you said with a nod. “Did the towel give it away?”
“It’s Tuesday,” Vada said, completely ignoring your attempt at teasing her. “You don’t shower on Tuesdays.”
Ah. So she did pay attention to a few things.
“I got asked on a date,” you shrugged.
“A date?” She asked incredulously. Rude. “With who?”
You sighed and leaned against the doorframe. “Know that guy from my Fluid Flow class? Jacob?”
“The one with the stupid lip piercing?”
“It’s not stupid,” you said with a huff. “But yes.”
“You agreed to go on a date with him?” Vada asked incredulously. “What happened to your standards?”
“It’s not like I’m getting asked on many dates,” you argued.
“But him?” She continued.
“Well who else should I go with?” You asked. “You?”
Vada froze, her mouth still flopping open at the revelation of your plans for the evening. You wanted her to tell you not to go. To say that yes, you should go on a date with her. Maybe you were being a bit cruel to just not tell her, but you wanted her to say something. Although in hindsight maybe you shouldn’t have expected Vada Cavell to pick up on all the signs you had given her.
Which were numerous.
She shifted her weight and looked down at her feet. You could see her scuffing the toe of her shoe into the floor, a nervous habit of hers. Part of you got hopeful; she was nervous, maybe she would finally say something. Hell, you would be happy if she simply said she didn’t want you to go.
“You should go shower,” she finally said, and you felt your heart drop. “I’ll help you pick out what to wear once you’re out.”
“Right,” you said with a sigh.
The entire time you were in the shower you were seething. No, not quite seething, you were disappointed. You knew it was a bit unrealistic of you to expect Vada to know how you were feeling, especially about her, but you couldn’t help it. How could she not see that you wanted her to ask you on a date? Yes you should just do it yourself, especially at this point, but you weren’t going to risk anything.
Your father would’ve just told you to task her on your own. You were the one with the feelings, you should ask. And he would have been right, you knew that, but you didn’t want to ask. What if Vada didn’t actually like you that way? She acted goofy with Mia and Nick too, so you couldn’t use that as justification for your hopes.
By the time you got out of the shower and finished getting ready, Vada was already waiting in your room. She was hanging her head upside down on the bed while scrolling through her phone. Her brows were scrunched in an adorable frown from whatever she was looking at. The minute she noticed you standing in the doorway, she smiled wide and sat up.
“About time,” she said as she stood up and went to your closet, “I’ve got the perfect thing for tonight.”
“Perfect as in “I’ll look great” or as in “it’ll get me laid?” Because there’s a difference,” you said as you sat down on the bed and waited for Vada to come out of the closet.
Ha. You might be disappointed, but at least you were still funny. See? That was what Vada was missing out on and she didn’t even know it!
“Perfect as in “he’d be stupid not to ask you out again”,” she said with a grin as she turned around to show you what she had picked.
“Vada that’s,” you exhaled slowly, “that’s the most mundane outfit I’ve got.”
“Which is why he’d be stupid not to ask you out again,” she said, tossing everything your way. “I won’t look, promise.”
“Gee, thanks,” you mumbled to yourself as you nonetheless stood up and got dressed.
Part of you was thankful Vada had picked out a regular outfit; at least it was comfortable, and that was always a plus. Did you think Jacob would ask you out again? Absolutely not, he was a frat boy, you knew he wouldn’t ask you out again the moment you decided you weren’t going to put out. At least you would be comfortable when you were rejected.
“How do I look?” You asked, and Vada turned around so quickly she nearly fell.
The moment she actually managed to focus on you, she fell into what looked like a daze. Her jaw dropped and her eyes were looking you up and down. And for a moment, she looked like she wanted to say something. Say it, you mentally urged her, tell me to stay. You played with your fingers and watched her with hopeful eyes.
“You’re so getting laid tonight,” she whispered.
“Yippee,” you said with another huff. She was getting a lot of those out of you tonight.
“You’d better get going,” she said as she practically pushed you out of your room toward the front door. “You don’t want to be late.”
“Thought you didn’t like Jacob?” You asked.
“I don’t, but I wanna watch a movie,” she said, now opening the front door. “And you’re not invited.”
“Well that’s just rude,” you said.
“Have fun!” Vada called out as she shut the front door in your face.
You just stood there in complete shock. Had you really just gotten kicked out of your own apartment by the girl you were quite possibly in love with? Simply because she wanted to watch a movie? It was so on par for Vada that you honestly weren’t even surprised.
The door opened again and you looked in, hopeful that Vada had changed her mind. She stood in the doorway and looked at you again. Please ask me to stay, you silently begged her. But then she pushed something into your arms, which you scrambled to hold onto.
“Forgot your phone and wallet,” she said before slamming the door shut again. “Have fun!”
“Oh fuck me,” you grumbled, but nonetheless put your phone and wallet in your back pocket and left the apartment.
—---
Life sucked. It sucked and it was out to get you personally. You could get over the fact that it had started raining on the walk over to the restaurant. Then there was the fact that you had gotten lost at least three times, but that could also be forgiven. And your phone dying? Well, that was also shitty even though you had forgotten to charge it at home, so it happened.
But then you got to the restaurant and sat at the bar, like you were supposed to, and waited. And then you ordered a drink and waited some more. And some more. And wouldn’t you know it, an hour and a half and three drinks later, you were closing your tab and heading back to the apartment. The apartment that you had been kicked out of by someone who was supposed to pick up on your cues.
There was just enough alcohol in your system to have you thoroughly pissed off by the time you got back to the apartment. You could smell the weed from out in the hallway and knew Vada was either high as a kite or well on her way to it. Normally you wouldn’t care; she was respectful with it and was, honestly, pretty adorable under the influence.
Unfortunately for Vada, it just wasn’t your night.
You unintentionally slammed the door shut behind you when you entered, leaning back against it to get yourself back under control. The music was loud and obnoxious and the smell of weed was giving you a headache. Or maybe it was the alcohol. Or maybe it was the fact you got stood up. Actually, maybe it was just everything.
“Nick?” Vada’s voice came from her room. At least she wasn’t smoking out in the living room like you had initially thought.
“Just me,” you called back before exhaling slowly and walking further into the apartment. The sloshing sound of your wet shoes on the floor was horrible.
“Y/N?” Something fell to the floor with a hard thud. You looked down the hallway until you saw Vada practically falling out of her room, hitting the opposite wall fairly hard. “You’re back early.”
“Yup,” you said, popping the “p” for emphasis.
“So… did he like your outfit?” She asked as she stood up, her hands instantly going to play with the hem of her shirt. Wait… was that your shirt?
“I don’t know,” you said before finally tossing your soaking wet wallet and hopefully-dry phone onto the couch. “He never showed.”
“What?” Vada asked incredulously, her sleepy eyes suddenly widening.
You huffed. “He stood me up, V.”
“But… but he asked you,” she said in a soft voice.
“It’s whatever,” you said with a sigh as you made your way into your room with Vada hot on your heels. “He wasn’t exactly the one I wanted anyway.”
“He wasn’t?” She asked. You didn’t bother turning around to look at her as you started digging in your closet for something dry to put on. “Then why did you say yes?”
“Because I was hoping a certain someone would get the hint,” you grumbled. Truthfully you didn’t care if she even heard you or not. She was high, it was not the proper time for this revelation to come out.
“If they didn’t get the hint then they’re a complete dumbass,” she said after a moment of silence. You closed your eyes and exhaled slowly once again. “Because they’d be stupid not to ask you out.”
“Yeah they would,” you agreed quickly before grabbing a t-shirt from your closet. “Don’t look.”
You checked over your shoulder to see Vada on your bed, dutifully covering her eyes with both hands. Why did she have to actually listen? You were standing in the middle of your room, soaking wet, about to take your shirt off, and she wasn’t going to look? Dammit, Vada, lose your morals!
“Anyone would be lucky to date you,” she said while you peeled your wet clothes off. “And if they don’t realise that then they’re an idiot.”
“Keep talking, Cavell,” you mumbled to yourself; you knew she couldn’t hear you.
“If I ever had the chance to date you, I certainly wouldn’t screw it up,” she continued talking.
Now that had you slowing your movements, taking your time to finish kicking your pants off. It left you in your shirt and underwear, but that wasn’t on your mind. You slowly turned to look at Vada, who still had her hands over her eyes, as you went over her words.
Did she really think that? Was that the sign you had needed to know that she actually liked you back? Yes you had been playing this game for around three years at that point. And yes, you should have said something ages ago, even your dad had said so. But was she admitting that she liked you?
“Who said you didn’t have a chance?” You asked slowly, your eyes still glued to where Vada was playfully swinging her legs over the side of your bed.
“Who said I did have a chance?” She asked in reply. “I’m not stupid, I’m not your type.” You stepped closer to the bed. “Your type is a bunch of nerds who are way below your league.” You sat down on the bed beside her. “Which you should change, by the way, you can do so much better than all those other-”
-you leaned forward to capture Vada’s lips with yours, silencing her rant. It wasn’t a long kiss, you didn’t want to give off the wrong idea. Or maybe you did, you weren’t sure yet. All you knew was she was going to keep talking until she either fell asleep or you silenced her, and honestly, a kiss was the best way. It killed two birds with one stone.
When you pulled away, you watched as her hands pulled down her face and she looked up at you. Her eyes were still bloodshot and you could still smell the weed on her clothes, but she was looking at you clearly. There was a slight flush to her freckled cheeks, and you would have kissed her again if it meant she would stay looking just like that.
“You kissed me,” she said softly.
“Yeah,” you said with a nod and a poor attempt at hiding your smile. “I did.”
“I thought you liked someone though?”
“Oh my god,” you groaned. “Are you serious?”
“What?” She asked as she sat up. “Are you serious? What about that person you like-”
“-I like you, Vada,” you practically shouted. She fell silent, something she didn’t do often. “You’re the other person that I like.”
“You- you like me?” She asked with wide eyes. “Me?”
“For fuck’s sake,” you groaned, “yes you.”
Vada nodded slowly as her eyes fell to a spot on the bed, close to where your hand was resting. You could practically see the gears turning in her head, going over this new revelation. Part of you was upset at yourself for telling her such a thing now, when you were grumpy and a little tipsy and she was high and unexpecting. Terrible timing, really.
“I thought I was the only one with those feelings,” she finally said, slowly so as to get her thoughts out properly. Something you adored about her. “That you weren’t interested.”
“Vada, I’ve been dropping hints for the past year,” you said with a soft sight. Not a frustrated one, simply to break the tension. “Even Nick and Mia knew.”
“I didn’t want to assume,” she said without looking at you. “I didn’t want to risk not having you around just because I caught feelings.”
“You don’t just catch feelings, you know,” you said as you leaned forward a little more so you could force her to look at you.
“And you really do like me?” She asked, looking up into your eyes; suddenly, she seemed a hell of a lot more sober. “Like, for real?”
“What is this, high school?” You asked with a snort. “Yes, Vada, I like you for real.”
“So does that mean I can kiss you again?” She asked, perking up at the mere thought. “Because your lips are really soft and I think I could kiss them forever if you would let me-”
-you leaned forward and kissed her again, immediately cutting her off. But this time you didn’t pull back; you leaned even further into her, your hand moving to rest on the back of her neck. She grabbed you by the front of your shirt and pulled until she was laying down and you were leaning over her.
“Wait,” she mumbled against your lips, “you like me enough to have sex with me, right?”
“Just shut up, V,” you groaned as you kissed her again.
She didn’t argue.
You weren’t sure if you should blame it on the alcohol, or the weed, or the revelation of it all, but you weren’t in the mood to be patient. Night after night you had dreamed of having Vada in your bed, teasing her until she was a mess underneath you. But now that you had her, you just wanted to hear her fall apart.
Clearly she was in the same mood as you because her hands quickly found their way under your shirt until they brushed against your ribs. It tickled and sent a shiver down your spine, which you felt her smile about. You knew it wasn’t a competition. That didn’t stop you from placing your knee between her thighs and pressing up against her.
“Oh shit,” she groaned against your lips as her nails scratched against your skin.
You kept your knee stationary as she grinding against it hesitantly. Even through her boxers you could feel how wet she was; it wouldn’t take long before she left your thigh wet too. You started kissing your way across her jaw, leaving small kisses below her ear before moving down her neck.
Her hands left a fire in their wake as she moved them up, quickly sliding them up to your breasts that were no longer confined by the wet bra you had been wearing earlier. You both inhaled sharply when she brushed her knuckles against your nipples; her hips stuttered for only a moment before resuming.
“Hang on,” Vada whispered into your ear, and you stiffened before sitting up.
Had you done something wrong? There hadn’t been much, but what if she had decided she wasn’t okay with it anymore? It was fine, you would respect it and wouldn’t do anything else, but fuck. Fuck, maybe you had just pushed it a little too fast. You knew you should have kept your cool.
“Take it off,” she said as she pulled on your shirt lightly before struggling to get her own shirt off.
Oh. Oh right.
“Never hesitate to free the titties,” she said with a cheesy smile.
“Never say that again,” you groaned, only smiling when your shirt was hiding your face.
“I just know how to appreciate a- holy shit.”
You watched Vada’s jaw drop - again - once your shirt was finally off. Her eyes were zeroed in on one thing. Well, two things, and even though you felt a little self-conscious, you knew it was just Vada. No, not just Vada, it was your Vada. Who was still halfway in her shirt and clearly too distracted to continue.
“You’re such a horndog,” you mumbled as you leaned forward to help her pull her shirt the rest of the way over her head.
“I hit the jackpot,” she whispered.
“Just lay back down,” you said as you pushed her shoulder lightly and watched her fall back onto the bed, her eyes still glued to your breasts.
“I can still touch?” She asked.
“Yes, V,” you chuckled, “you can still touch.”
“Oh fuck yes,” she whispered before pulling you back in for a kiss.
Just as you figured, her hands instantly found your breasts again. Each touch sent a tingling sensation down to your core. Maybe you shouldn’t have mentally teased Vada earlier for being so wet. Even though you had no proof yet, you just knew you were going to be soaked if this went on much longer.
While Vada continued focusing on her newest obsession, you just let yourself feel her. Her skin was so incredibly soft and warm. It was exactly what you had expected from her. The muscles in her stomach tensed underneath your fingers before relaxing again. When you brushed your knuckles against her hip, she giggled into your mouth.
“I’m ticklish,” she said.
“I can tell,” you answered with your own smile and another kiss.
“You’re just being too soft,” she continued. Oh Vada. You kept moving your hand. “Soft touches tickle.” Your hand effortlessly slipped past the waistband of her boxers that were far too big. “Especially on my hips-”
-she stopped herself with a moan when you finally managed to rub your fingers over her clit. Oh god she was wet, you almost struggled to stay in the right spot. But when you heard her moan again, her head thrown back against your mattress, well it was worth the struggle.
“Fuck you’re good at this,” Vada managed to gasp out when you circled her clit again.
“Baby?”
“Yeah?”
“Shut up,” you mumbled before leaving kisses on Vada’s neck. Her hands tangled in your hair as she pulled you up into a real kiss.
“Did you have a martini tonight?” Vada asked.
“Seriously?”
“You taste like a martini,” she said, her breath coming out in huffs as you continued to slowly circle her clit. Not enough to get her off, but fast enough to keep building her up.
And then it hit you. Oh. Oh, Vada was nervous. You had both talked of your personal exploits and experiences so you knew she wasn’t a virgin. Yet she had always seemed a bit bashful about the whole thing. It all made sense now; she was simply nervous.
You removed your hand and tried not to smile at Vada’s whine at the loss of sensation. But she quickly shut up when you grabbed one of her hands and slid it under your own underwear, doing your best not to moan at the feel of her fingers on you. And just as you had expected, and much like Vada, you were soaked. Embarrassingly so.
“Holy fuck,” Vada groaned against your lips before leaning up and capturing your lips.
She bit your bottom lip when you replaced your hand and continued circling her clit. Usually you would tease, but with Vada? Right then and there, when you were so humiliatingly sensitive and probably wouldn’t last very long? No, you wanted to make her cum until she was seeing stars.
And as you moved your fingers faster, you knew it wouldn’t take long. It was in the little pants and moans she let out, the squirming of her hips, the spastic movements of her fingers. Not that you could judge, you were losing your rhythm as well, doing your best to keep your composure even as she continued to turn you to putty under her fingers.
“I’m close,” she panted.
Thank god, you thought as you rubbed your finger in faster, tighter circles. Unlike Vada, you couldn’t bring yourself to talk, knowing the second you opened your mouth you would let out a moan that would haunt you for the rest of your life. It was only a few more seconds before Vada pulled back, her eyes squeezed shut as she stilled beneath you. Her fingers continued moving, and you felt your own orgasm wash over you. You let out a groan as you rutted against her fingers to chase the high, only letting yourself fall beside her when the feeling had dissipated.
“Holy shit,” Vada whispered. “We can do that again, right?”
“Oh my god,” you chuckled as you lifted your hands to cover your eyes. “We just finished.”
“But we can do it again, right?” She asked.
You rolled over onto your side and looked at her. At the sheen of sweat covering her half-naked body and left her practically glowing under the singular ceiling light in your room. The rise and fall of her chest that was slowly but steadily returning back to normal. The absolutely stunning smile on her face that had your chest feeling warm and your stomach swarming with butterflies.
“How about we shower and then sleep,” you suggested. “And maybe we can do it again tomorrow.”
Vada turned her head to look at you, her smile still present although looking a little more mischievous.
“Can we do it in the shower?”
“Never mind, I’m going without you.”
“Wait, hang on!”
You smiled to yourself as you quickly shut the bathroom door behind you, effectively locking Vada out. She stomped her foot - which you could imagine perfectly - before walking off. You half expected her to stay gone until you heard more shuffling on the other side and something slid under the door. With a half-cocked head, you picked up the piece of paper.
No boobs? :(
“Not anymore,” you called out through the door, to which Vada replied with a groan as she finally walked away, presumably to your room.
As you got in the shower, you couldn’t help but smile. Maybe you should thank Jacob for standing you up. He had accidentally made a fantastic wingman.

Pt2 of rewind
your wish is my command 🙂‍↕️ hope you enjoy :)
rewind part 2 - paul x reader
Tumblr media
The drive home was silent as Paul drove on the road. Your arms were crossed, silently looking out the window. You felt embarrassed, you felt too seen, and you didn’t like it at all. Paul tried to kiss you when you both made it in the house but you blatantly refused. His hurt facial expression almost made you crumble but that’s how you felt when the private moment between you two was shown to a group of individuals.
Paul was pissed. He was mostly pissed at himself for allowing his thoughts to leak out. He usually did good by blocking out his thoughts from his pack brothers. They ruined it for him. You didn’t even want to cuddle when nighttime fell.
“Fucking idiots.” Paul venomously cursed them in their head and couldn’t wait until patrol the next day.
Paul purposely came late. He tried his best to mend whatever mood you were in but you played him off and went to work. Sam was there, agitated and irritated by Paul’s tardiness.
“You have to be on time. You know this.” he says to him.
Paul doesn’t even wait before he attacks him first. Snarling and biting at his throat. Sam couldn’t process the fight with Paul’s thoughts rewinding the moments of his imprint crying and the other imprints throwing accusations at you. Jared tried to move him off of Sam, and Paul’s anger only transferred to Jared.
“Paul, chill out!” Sam orders, trying not to let it go too far. Paul snarled, upset that he has to submit to such orders.
“I fucking hate all of you!” Paul says in retaliation, circling around them menacingly, snapping his jaw at them all. He wanted to fight all of them.
“It was an accident. Her name just slipped.” Jacob says, trying to have some type of understanding.
“What a bullshit excuse.” Leah says, showing her sharp teeth, to back Paul up.
“Fuck this.” Paul says and phases out before he could hear the order. As he walks back home, he hears a long howl coming from a far distance. He decides to go where the noise took place. He peered down at the confused, lone wolf. He phases in, trying to let him know that he's safe.
"What's your name?" Paul asks the new wolf that's walking in circles, breaking their panicked thoughts.
"Oh God, I can hear voices in my head?" it answered back, not even noticing Paul's wolf there with him.
"You're safe. Look, you're safe." Paul says and nudges the newly transformed wolf. The wolf calms down a bit and meekly speaks his name. Paul leads them back to the pack, making all of the pack surprised.
Everybody introduces themselves, leading the new wolf back to Sam's place. They collectively coach the new wolf on how to return back to his human form. Sam grabs the pair of scissors and sits him in a chair.
The boy looks at the scissors in such horror, looking bug eyed at Sam. "What are you doing?" he asks.
"I have to, or else your fur will be matted every time you shift." Sam explains.
"I'll deal with washing it, just please." he whispers. Sam sets the scissors down and Emily walks in, taking a double take at the boy sitting at the table.
"Hey, Em. Did you cook anything?" Sam asks as he moves in to embrace her but she moves away, fixing her something to drink. "Nope." she answers back and all of the boy's faces fall. Leah snickers at this. Emily rewards the new boy with a smile, "You must be hungry." she coos at him. The boy softens up at Emily's good nature and nods.
"We’re hungry too!" Quil says, looking in disbelief at the displayed favoritism.
"Hungry? Hmm, I would've thought thirsty." Emily says and Leah cackles again, enjoying every moment of their disappointment. Leah already ate before patrol.
The boy eats Emily's food without shame, she only made enough for him.
Sam gets up, "I guess we'll go to a diner instead."
"You do just that." Emily says sweetly.
Emily calls all of you to let you know that there's a new wolf.
"Perfect." you say to her.
A beach day of course happened and you all got to meet him. He wasn't a bad looking guy, his long beautiful hair that he kept was a bonus as well. You introduced yourself, knowing for sure that he would get the same lovesick eyes that every other guy has gotten. You make sure to sit next to him, smiling at him and looking him deeply in the eye. The dude was whipped. Paul was pissed. He kept giving you hints to speak alone but you acted completely oblivious.
The new wolf accepted your invitation to go swimming in the ocean, you walked slowly on the sand towards the water and he didn't mind. He got to check you out. You made sure to turn around and give him a smile that made him almost drop to his knees.
"Do you have a boyfriend?" he asks, as he's close to you when the water is knee deep. You were driving him wild, savoring the moments of you giving him this much attention. You shrug and give an innocent smile as you cup some water in your hands and let it pour over your body. He almost drooled.
"Yeah, and it's me." Paul's loud, deep voice says and it almost made both of you jump, you didn't notice him there, but you were glad he heard everything. Paul gives you an angry look but you didn't pay it any mind.
Taking the boy's arm, leading him further into the water. The guy was hypnotized.
Back on shore after the splashing session with you, Jacob's imprint is holding up a bottle of sunscreen. "Do you mind putting some on my back please?" she asks the new wolf, batting her eyelashes. Jacob looks over, getting angrier by the second as the boy's hands lather the sunscreen over his imprint's back.
"I love how gentle you are. Jacob is way too rough." she says and the guy beams at the compliment.
"Do you guys do cliff diving at all?" he asks all of the girls that are now huddled around him, making conversation with him. You all nod. He's enjoying every moment. The pack on the other hand is not. If they were cartoons, visible steam would come out of their ears.
At the cliffs, they watch their imprints cliff dive with the new wolf. Fearful that he will steal all of your hearts. They stomp to where everybody is.
"Can you hold my hand? I'm a bit afraid of heights." Kim says.
"How about this, I can put you on my back." he offers and Kim's eyes light up at the suggestion.
Jared watches as Kim is hanging onto him tightly, laughing and whooping in the air.
Emily promises lunch as you all walk back to her house. The pack is darting dirty looks at their new pack brother's back.
"I wish I knew how to braid my hair." the new wolf says as he ruffles his dripping wet hair that hangs around his face frame.
"I do." Emily says and she has him sitting between her legs as she sits on the couch and makes two plaits for him. Sam had to control his shaking, watching Emily run her fingers through his hair.
"We should've went skinny dipping." you say to the new pack brother as he blushes. You both were eating a sandwich at the table. You hear a growl and you turn around to see Paul, ready to pounce at any given second.
"Take it outside." Emily warns him.
"Yeah, we need to talk." he says to you, not caring you're not done with your food.
"We can talk here."
"Why would you say something like that?"
"I don't know, the rest of the pack has seen me naked. I figured he might as well get a good look while it's on my terms, before you leak out another moment." you say coldly, Paul's face softens up.
"That's not right. It was an accident." Jacob goes on to say.
You shake your head, "What's not right is saying my name while having sex with your own imprints. That's not right. You all did that." you say, giving the pack members dirty looks.
"We're sorry, Y/N." Sam says to you.
"I think it would be better if you said sorry to Emily instead." the new wolf points out.
Sam growls and steps towards him, "I think it would be better if you stay out of it."
"Leave him alone. He's right." Kim says with her hands on his shoulders.
Knowing that what they did was wrong on so many levels, each wolf pulled their imprints to the side for a private talk.
"I don't love Y/N, Emily. I love you. You're the love of my life and I fucked up. Bad," he says to her, "I'm making it up to you everyday. In fact, you don't have to cook for the pack for a while. I will do it from now on."
Emily looks up at him with a smirk, "Deal."
“Theres no one else I would rather be with other than with you Kim. I’m so sorry about what I did. I understand if you don’t forgive me.” Jared says to Kim sincerely.
“Why did you say her name?” Kim asks quietly.
“It was a stupid move. Honest. I wish I could rewind and take it back. I hurt you so bad and I wish I’ve never done it.” he says looking down.
“Am I really that rough?” Jacob asks his imprint.
“You were rough with my heart. You said her name. I don’t know if I can forgive you.” she answers back.
“It’s okay if you don’t. I don’t want you to ever experience that ever again.” he says to her and takes her hands.
“Im sorry that those fuckers said your name. I’m sorry that I accidentally thought about our intimacy. You don’t have to seek another man.” Paul says looking up at you. You look down on him with your arms cross, he was down on his knees.
“I’ll help you out. We can’t be intimate for a while.” you tell him and his heart shatters through his eyes. He slowly rises, trying to see if you would break. You didn’t. He nods, hangs his head, accepting his punishment.

Note
ok I need to see twst casts reaction to twilight. Yuu tells them this was the iconic romance media of their time (as in very popular, not as in good). Vil reacts with appropriate horror. Ortho judges the editing. They get to see fucked up evil cgi/puppet baby. Was Yuu team Edward, Jacob, or secret third thing (team Alice, team Alice, team Alice-) Do the first years start quoting it. "Deuce, where the hell you been, loca?" "You named our science project after the loch NESS monster???" Idk I just think this would be funny. Love you and ur work bye 💝
My army of Anons always bring me joy. Im glad you like my stuff!
I may do a small mini series of Yuu showing the Twist boys various movies.
But for Twilight, Vil NEEDS to read these books, he needs to understand the inner thoughts of Bella because, hun, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING??? STOP BITING YOUR LIP.
He doesn't understand the character motivations, He's also a bit of a Bella basher if only because she is LOOKS like Neige hair and eye color wise, and everyone is so adoring of her??? But she's so bland???? But also so pretty??? BUT SO DULL??? (Yuu shows him other movies Robert and Kristen have done and he becomes a very big fan of them.)
Ortho is confused why this entire movie was dipped in teal. He at first thought the other movies would have color tinting for like theming and he was deeply disappointed they were not. He finds the camera work and sets very fun though!
The first years are making so many jokes. Jack just left the second Jacob turned into werewolf. He wasn't even going to try to deal with the bullshit the others were about to start.
Epel annoys Vil by copying movie Bella's mannerisms whenever he'sscolding him. He didn't notice at first, but once he did, Vil nearly broke Epel's nose with his instant urge to punch him.
Yuu was Team Charlie x Carlisle. They were CLEARLY in love with each other she says.

Chapter Three - Wait, didn't you ask Bella to the prom yesterday?
Saturday morning came quick, I woke up early in the morning and drove myself to La Push. The journey was peaceful, I always enjoyed driving through the nature of La Push. The sun was slowly beginning to peak the horizon as I drove onto Billy Black's land.
I left my car and walked into the house, I could see both Billy and Jacob were in the kitchen, they beamed happily when they saw me.
"Just in time for breakfast" Billy spoke first. I had timed it right, I loved Billy's cooking more than anything. I joined Jacob at the table and we all ate Billy's amazing breakfast. It was a good idea we packed in as many calories as possible for the day Jacob and I had planned.
"You ready for our hike?" Jacob asked as he shoveled the food into his mouth
"Think I was more ready for Billy's cooking" I answered as I ate my own food, less messy than Jacob. Billy chuckles heartilly at my comment.
Once all the food had been eaten and I helped Billy wash up Jacob and I left the house.
"Let's hit the trail! It's gonna be a great day!" Jacob grinned, he had his long hair in a loose ponytail so it wouldn't get in his way. I walked behind him on the trail, letting him lead us through the woods. About an hour into our hike we were up high, I could see the sun shining through the trees, though it was still cold. The January air was crisp but it went along with the hike perfectly, getting overhot on a hike was the worst.
I hadn't spoken in a few minutes, letting Jacob take lead of the conversation, though I had stopped paying attention a little while ago my mind trailing elsewhere.
"Something on your mind?"
Jacob asks me, I shake myself from my thoughts and smile to him as we slow down our walk, now walking besides each other.
"Do you know Paul Lahote?" I blurt out. Feeling myself blush as I did. Jacob pauses slightly, probably confused as to how I knew Paul, and why I was asking about him. He nods slowly, his expression a mix of curiosity and caution.
"Paul Lahote? Yeah, I know him. Why do you ask?"
"Oh nothing, I met him the other day, that's all" I answer truthfully, though I wouldn't tell Jacob about my tiny silly crush on him.
Jacob quirks an eyebrow, a hint of surprise in his eyes. He studies me for a moment, as if he was trying to understand why I would ask about Paul.
"How'd that happen? I mean, he's not really the friendliest guy around"
"Oh.." I say quietly "He was pretty nice to me, I bumped into him...literally"
"Paul was nice to you? Seriously? That's unexpected. He can be a bit of an arse at school" Jacob explained.
"Oh..weird" I say as I step over a log as we continue the trail. Jacob follows close behind me. We hiked until it started getting a little darker.
Once it did get darker we hiked back down to Jacob's house, Billy smiled widely when he saw us. I think he really liked it when Charlie Swan's daughters hung around Jacob, I think he secretly wanted one of us to get with Jacob..The thought made me giggle, but Jacob only had eyes for Bella. Too bad she didn't feel the same.
"Hey, you two. Have a good hike?"
"Really good! I better get going, dad doesn't like when I'm out past dark" I explain a little sad, I had a really good day, I didn't want it to end. Jacob nods, a hint of disappointment in his eyes, obviously feeling the same as I was.
"No worries, be safe driving back, alright?" Jacob answers.
"Bye!" I say hugging them both and leaving. I hop into my car and begin driving home. The drive was peaceful, just like my drive here this morning, except this time I had the night sky and stars beaming down as I drove. A perfect end to a brilliant day.
•☽────✧˖°˖☆˖°˖✧────☾•
Edward Cullen came back from his disappearing act on Monday. And then Bella had Biology with him, and after that she couldn't stop talking about him.
I rolled my eyes again as she told me another thing about him as we walked through the halls to our next class. I nodded and hummed occasionally so it looked like I was listening. We finally parted in the halls and I walked to the Chemistry lesson, I took my seat next to Alice Cullen. She smiled warmly at me, but it made me feel uneasy. We had only shared this class twice so far, and each time she tried to chat to me, I was polite back, but overall she made me feel on edge. I couldn't put my finger on why.
"Hi!" She chimed cheerfully "How's it going?"
"Good, thanks Alice" I smiled and started taking my books out of my bag. As the class went on, my mind trailed, thinking back to Paul. I was starting to get annoyed at my brain, I had met the boy for five minutes, I should be over it by now, but I couldn't stop thinking about him. He was so cute...
Once class was over I walked through the halls, Jessica, Mike and Eric caught up with me and we walked out into the car park now that class was over.
"Have a good weekend?" Mike asked me.
"I did, I went on a hike with my friend Jake" I answered, a happy smile on my lips thinking back to my weekend.
Suddenly I heard tires screeching across the icy road, I looked to see where it was coming, feeling fear course through me. I could see Tyler's van speen into the car park, heading towards...Bella. My heart froze as I begin weaving through people to get closer, there were too many people, I heard a loud bang it made me feel numb.
I pushed through people faster until I finally got to Bella's truck, scared that I'd see my sister lying on the floor dead, covered in blood, the thoughts made me feel sick. But when I got to her and I could see her, she was leaning against her truck, a small gap between her and Tyler's van. She was unharmed.
"Bella!" I called climbing over the hood of Tyler's van to get to her, I wrapped my arms around her.
"I'm okay" She says to me quickly "I'm fine, Edward saved me"
I cocked my head a little confused, but then saw Edward walking away from the scene. Weird, if he had saved Bella, wouldn't he stay with her? I rode with Bella to the hospital, refusing to leave her side. I was stood by her as she was examined by a nurse.
And then our dad walked into the room, he rushed to us calling both our names.
"What the hell happened?" He asked, a panicked look over his face.
"A truck came towards Bella, nothing happened to me, I wasn't anywhere near her" I answered, feeling a little bit more relaxed when my dad wrapped an arm around my shoulders. He yelled at Tyler a little and squeezed my shoulder, he was definitely keeping calm when he really wanted to yell more.
Dr Cullen comes into the room and checks Bella over, he smiles at me and I feel the same unease I feel for all the Cullens I had met thus far. Once he was done with Bella to turned to me.
"And how are you feeling Miss Swan?"
"Oh, I wasn't in the accident" I answer quietly.
"Yes, but it must of been quite the shock for you"
"I guess so..."
"It's natural to feel shaken after witnessing something like that, even second-hand anxiety can be quite intense" He explains.
"I feel fine" I answer, probably a little too bluntly.
Once we were allowed to leave I followed my dad as he needed to fill paperwork out, whilst Bella went to talk to Edward. I rolled my eyes a little.
"Bella really does attract accidents" I say to my dad when we were out of ear shot to Bella. He lets out a gruff laugh, his worry obviously slightly lifted by my joke.
"That's for sure. She's a magnet for trouble. It's like she's got a secret curse or something"
"Glad I don't have it" I smirk. He chuckles, giving me a sideway glance as we walk.
"Yeah, lucky you. You seem to have escaped your sister's tendency for chaos"
I smiled at that. The next few days were pretty normal, thankfully. Bella was annoyed at Edward for some reason, she wouldn't tell me why. I didn't care enough to push on it, I was mostly happy she wasn't talking to him at the moment. And time went on, Bella didn't talk about Edward for over a month. It was bliss. I felt bad, because I knew she liked him, but something was off with him.
I walk into my history class and sit by Mike, giving him a friendly smile as I do so.
"Hey, how's it going?"
"Hey Mike" I smiled and we chatted a little whilst class started.
"Hey, so do you have a date to prom?" He asks, I swear internally, I did not want to go to prom with Mike. I didn't know if I wanted to go with anyone...Well maybe...No...I hadn't seen Paul since that day. And I definitely didn't drive around La Push on many seperate days, because that would definitely be weird.
"Prom? I hadn't even thought about it" I answer truthfully.
"No prom date yet? That's surprising, I thought you would've had someone lined up by now, proms only round the corner!" He answers.
"Not really, it's only March...Prom's in May" I answered a little snippy.
"Yeah..well I was thinking we could go together?" He asks.
"Oh...Mike, I'm sorry, but I think Jess really likes you...I couldn't do that to her" I answer, I felt really happy Bella had told me that Jess probably likes Mike, for this exact moment.
"That's sweet of you I guess, not wanting to hurt her feelings"
"Yeah...wait, didn't you ask Bella to the prom yesterday?" I ask loud enough to make our teacher look at us a little annoyed, I muttered a small sorry. Mike's face falls, completely embarrassed.

Forever, His Girl | Andrei Svechnikov
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: once you and andrei fought you both knew you had to make up.
request: yes/no
warnings: none
word count: 0.86k
authors note: I don’t know what this was, still liked it though! But yeah, no comment…
Tumblr media
You and Andrei hadn’t spoken since the morning.
The two of you ended up having an argument about how you were close to one of your coworkers. It was a stupid argument but as there wasn’t any real end in sight Andrei ended up grabbing his keys as he left the apartment.
That was this morning and now you were left wondering where he was. You knew he had practice but as lunch and dinner time came and went you began to wonder if Andrei was ever going to come home. His home was still on his bedside table and you truly had no clue where he was.
You had spoken to the girls about it after their partners came home confused that their usual star player broke three hockey sticks. In all honesty you began to think that the fight was beyond stupid now. It was indeed what pissed him off to begin with as you seemed to hold little care or time for the fact that Jacob liked you. The argument was one that would go round in circles, you were irritated that Andrei could accuse you of wanting someone else and he was upset that you blew off his anger.
Andrei loved you, truly he did. You made him a better man and everyone was grateful to see you in his life. But as you had been spending more time at the office, specifically on this project with Jacob. Andrei couldn’t help but get a little bit jealous, especially when your colleague so clearly liked you.
After a while you realised that you couldn’t just hold out hope that Andrei was going to come back so you moved your disappointed self off of the couch and into the bathroom. All you needed was a hot bubble bath and a glass of wine and that was exactly what you were going to give yourself.
You were close to falling asleep as the soft scents of lavender and vanilla invaded your nostrils when you heard the front door open “mIlaya!” Andrei called out as he placed his bag on the floor.
It seemed that the lights in the apartment gave away your hiding spot as you always seemed to turn the lights off only leaving your bedroom and the hallway on. Andrei felt like an ass as he was met with silence. He looked to your bed to see it still made from this morning “Drei.” Your voice was barely above a whisper as you looked through the crack of the door to his panicked state.
That small action soothed his nerves as he turned to see you comfortably laying in the tub “you feeling better?” You asked fiddling with your rings on your now wet and wrinkly fingers “needed the space.” Andrei had never been good at expressing his feelings and he always found it easier to run or avoid them over confronting them head on.
Those words made your stomach churn like it was you who he was trying to avoid for space “I wouldn’t cheat on you ever.” You let the words drop from your lips as tears formed in your waterline.
Andrei crouched down next to the bathtub as he frowned “no, no, please don’t look sad.” Andrei reached out to grab your hand “I can’t handle that.” He added going to added as he sighed.
You hated him being mad at you “it’s just he-” Andrei was cut off as you let out a sigh “do you even trust me?” You sobbed pulling away from him.
It made him rest his head on his hands “I do.” He nodded sitting down as he wanted to talk “I just know you’re such a great girl.” The hockey player began as he ran his fingers through his hair.
He made you furrow your eyebrows as you turned to look at him “and I know that it isn’t any excuse but I can’t lose you.” Andrei sighed as he turned to floor “you deserve better than me.” His voice broke sending a colossal strike to your heart as you frowned.
The water sloshed around you hitting your skin as you moved through it “you’re the man I love.” You cupped his cheeks forcing him to look at you.
His eyes were bloodshot as he had clearly been crying before he came home “you love me?” Andrei let his lips form a pout as he felt his heart grow warm “so much my boy.” You nodded getting to kiss his lips.
Andrei tapped his hand on the tub as he stood up beginning to undress himself “you got room for one more in here?” He asked as you nodded no longer caring for how the water turned cold “you hate baths.” You pointed out as you shifted to the side so that he could slot behind you.
The boy nodded as he smiled “I have some making up to do for my girl.” The nickname made you squirm as he pressed a kiss to your shoulder blade “I love you.” He added wrapping his hands around your waist as your back went flat against his chest.

Twilight- Youngest Shadow: Chapter Three, Crash It
(Alice X Reader X Jasper)
Tumblr media
[two] [three] [four]
Today was the day of my 6th Volleyball game out of 14. It’s a Home game.
Every single game has been attended by Jacob, Quil and Embry. Sometimes Sam and Billy. Bella made it to about two. Clearly needing to do her own thing I understood. If I didn’t understand a sport I wouldn’t want to go either.
She makes me sit with her at lunch still, I got kind of close with Angela. She’s cool. She also comes to games but that’s to take pictures, helping with the yearbook committee.
Bella and I walk out of the house together. I see my bike is gone and remembered I had to give it to Jacob for maintenance. Since he offered I was getting it done for free.
It’s also raining so I’m kind of glad I don’t have to choice to ride it. Sometimes the rain drops hurt like a bitch. I lift my hood up, walking behind Bella as we go down the steps. “Great.” She mutters under her breath.
Charlie pulls in with her truck. “Dad I can drive us to school myself.” As we get closer to the bottomed step she slips and falls on her ass. Tripping due to not watching where I was going I go forward.
“You okay, Bells? [Name]?” Charlie climbs out of the truck, helping Bella up and then the both help me. I ripped a new pair of jeans, hissing in pain from my hands I wipe it on my sweater that’s not so new. Luckily I didn’t bleed at all. “Ice doesn’t help the uncoordinated.” Bella frowns at her own joke.
“Clearly.” I groan.
“That’s why I got you new tires.” Charlie points to the red truck. “The other ones were nearly bald.”
“You got me new tires. No one’s ever don’t that before.” Both Charlie and I look at her confused. “I mean… nothing.”
He glances at me, not getting it but he heads to his cruiser.
“I won’t make it to dinner or the game. I’m heading down to Mason County. A security guard at the Grisham Mill got killed by some kind of animal.” He explains to us.
“An animal?” Bella asks, confused.
“You’re not in Phoenix anymore, honey. They’ve been hunting it for a week with no luck. Thought I’d lend a hand.” He puts it simply. “Be careful.” We say in unison.
“Always am.”
“And thank you for the tires.”
I’d thought by now they wouldn’t be so awkward with each other but I am very wrong. The tension is so thick it couldn’t even be cut with a knife.
Change of pov
Rain was still hitting hard. Eric and Bella walk together into Biology. She brushes off her coat as he talks. “And yeah, prom committee is a chick thing, but I gotta cover it for the paper anyway and they need a guy to help choose the music. So I need your playlist.” Eric explains but before the girl can respond Mike comes up behind her. “Come on, Arizone. Give it up for the rain.” He shakes his wet baseball cap onto Bella’s head.
“Terrific.” She walks away, ignoring them to get to her seat.
She freezes once she notices Edward. She straightens her posture, striding to the shared table confidently. Dropping her books in front of him, ready to address him but instead he looks up at her and speaks.
“Hello.”
She stops, automatically stunned. “I didn’t have a chance to introduce myself last week. My name is Edward Cullen.”
She’s too shocked to respond, she wasn’t expecting him to talk to her. “You’re Bella.” He stares, not questioning.
“I’m… yes.” She finally sits, feeling stupid.
He abruptly moves to the edge of his seat away from her. She’s baffled to say the least, smelling her hair as if she stinks.
“Onion root tip cells! That’s what’s on your slides. Separate and label them into the phases of mitosis. The first partners to get it right win the golden onion!” Mr. Molina holds up a gold spray painted onion but disappointed by the little to no reaction.
“Come on people, tick tock.”
Everyone gets to work. Edward pushes the microscope towards Bella, still keeping a distance.
“Ladies first.” She grabs it defensively and snaps the first slide in, adjusting the lens. “You’ve been gone.”
“Out of town. Personal reasons.” He was curt like her, short with his answers.
“Prophase.” She says, going to remove the slide. “May I look?” She slides the scope to him, he looks into it. “Prophase.”
“Like I said.”
He writes it down on the work sheet. He takes a deep breath, turning to her. “Enjoying the rain?”
“Seriously? You’re asking me about the weather?” She seems offended. “It appears.”
“No, unlike my sister I don’t like the cold, or the wet. Or the grey. Or the parkas. Or the turtlenecks.”
There was a small smile that played on his lips.
He actually seemed interested in what she had to say. He studies her like her sister did to him days ago. But she can’t tell if he despises her or not. “What?”
He shakes his head and turns to the microscope, switching out the slides. She continues to stare at him, appreciating his evident beauty. His cheekbones to his lips.
“Anaphase.” She snaps out of her daze to go back to giving a dry look.
“May I?” She mocks him for before, looking into the lens.
“Anaphase.”
“Like I said.”
They change the slide.
“If you hate the cold and rain, why move to the wettest place in the continental U.S.?” He quizzes her.
“It’s complicated.” Simple answer, but he’s intrigued so he pushes.
“I think I can keep up.” She looks at him quickly then looking away back at the scope. He seems to be paying attention very intently.
“My mother remarried.” Another simple response.
“Very complex. So you don’t like him.” A statement, he doesn’t question himself.
“Phil is fine. Young for her but nice enough.” She tells. “Interphase.”
At the end of school she’s still holding the golden onion. She bumps into Edward on accident. “Why didn’t you stay with your mom and step dad? Or your sister?” He waits patiently for her to say something, studying her like before.
“Alright, Phil’s a minor league baseball player, so he travels a lot. My mother stayed home with me and [Name] but it made her unhappy. And my sister has always been a daddy’s girl. So I decided to spend time with my father too.” She explains everything. “But now you’re unhappy.” He states himself again.
“No I… I just.” She turns away, embarrassed.
Back to You
At the end of the day I stood beside Angela and Jessica. Since our game was today I don’t see a point in going all the way home just to come back to the school.
I watch my sister head for her truck, shivering. Once she got there she looked back, making little eye contact with me and then staring at the Cullens. More specifically, Edward? I think that’s his name if I’m remembering correctly.
Their eyes met then there was a loud screech only getting louder by the second. A van skids out of control, heading right for my older sister.
I felt frozen for a second, running over there immediately. The van comes to a complete stop after spinning out. Like something forcefully stopped it. I didn’t see anything as it had happened so fast. The van had only hit the back of the truck, leaving a dent that was definitely noticeable to the eye.
After milliseconds everyone went berserk, roaring into screams of trying to get help, calling 911.
Mike and Eric yell if she’s okay, I watched Edward who was once at his Volvo now leaving the scene. Wanting to ask him what happened I shake my head, pushing the two boys out of my way. “Bells, Bella?!” I cried out, falling down to her level, feeling the pain in my knees from earlier but ignoring it. I took her into my arms as she was obviously in shock.
I ended up driving her and the boy who crashed into her, Tyler a ride to the hospital.
I told him to shut up on our way there. Even sitting in the room as they got checked up on I sat there glaring at him.
Minutes later, Charlie rushes in. “Bells, are you alright?“
“I’m fine dad, calm down.” She assures gun but it’s not enough. “I’m so sorry Bella. I tried to stop.” Tyler apologizes.
“It’s okay Tyler.” Bella tells him and I scoff. “It sure as hell is not okay.” Charlie says, I nod agreeing. “Dad it’s not his fault.”
“We nearly lost you.”
“But you didn’t.” She says, I pull her into a hug since Dad is glaring at Tyler like I once was. “You can kiss your license goodbye.” He sternly tells the boy and I watch his body falter.
I notice Dr. Cullen approach us and if I didn’t know anything I would’ve thought he was a movie star. I didn’t pay Trenton to what they were talking about. I focused on his face, observing him as he talked. Just like I did with his foster kids. Then I heard Tyler apologizing once again, since I was closest I closed the curtain getting a fist bump from my dad.
“It would’ve been a lot worse if Edward hadn’t knocked me out of the way.” Bella says ignoring dad and I’s antics.
“Edward? Your boy?” Charlie asks only to not get a response.
Dr. Cullen adverts his eyes, I watch Bella press. I’m guessing she knew something that was making him uncomfortable. “It was amazing he got to me so fast. He was nowhere near me.”
The blonde man smiles.
“As long as you’re safe.”
We leave the treatment area. “I just have to sign some paperwork. You better call your mom.” He points to Bella.
“You told her?! She’s probably freaking out!” He just shrugs and walks off.
She pulls her phone out and I laugh, earning an eye roll. Then we both look down the hall, hearing an argument. “Stay here.” She orders as if I was so much younger than her. She gets a little closer to whatever was happening.
Not meaning to but the curiosity getting the best of me I do the same thing.
“This isn’t about you. It’s about all of us.” It was Rosalie. I raise an eyebrow but Dr. Cullen definitely saw Bella, taking Rosalie inside his office.
I sit for a moment, but I see Bella talking to Edward so I just walk the other way, pulling out my phone as I felt it vibrating.
It’s Jacob calling, shit.
I answered it quickly. I forgot all about my Volleyball game that’s in… 35 minutes.
“Hello?” I spoke to,
“Hey, where are you? Are you okay? I heard something about an accident with you and Bella?” He freaks out, i why shush him trying to calm him down.
“Hey, everything is fine. No damage was done. Bella was apart if it but no scratches, just a bump on the head. I’m sorry I should’ve called.” I told him, hugging my self with my open arm.
“Oh, I’m glad you’re both okay, I’m glad shes okay.” He sighs like he had just been holding in a long breath.
“Yeah, yeah. Everything is good. I’m just going to keep watch on Bella for a little. Could you let my coach know what happened. I’m sure she knows but y’know?”
“Totally understand, I will let her know. Call me later tonight?” He sounded hopeful and I smile to myself.
“Of course, I’ll call around 9.” I say
“Can’t wait…”
“Knock it off.”
I was going to ask what he meant by that but I hear the other guys in the background and I laugh.
I hung up, not seeing Bella come up to me, she grabbed my shoulder causing me to jump and almost drop my phone.
“Who was that?”
“Jacob. He asked if we were okay since he went to my game as usual. Seeing I wasn’t there freaked him out.” I take a deep breath through my nose.
“I completely forgot about that. We can still make it.” She says in a hurried tone but I shake my head.
“Coach wouldn’t let me play anyway. There’s no point.” I laugh, putting a hand on her arm.
“I’m sorry.” She frowns.
“No need, you should call mom though.”
She whines to herself, pulling her phone out again.
Charlie walks out and we go outside. I drove the truck home.
Later that night I call Jacob like I told him I would. He tells me about the game since they stayed due to Quil wanting to.
“It would’ve been a better game with you for sure.” He says and I could hear the smile.
“I know, I’m just so amazing.” I brag, playing with my tongue piercing as I hear his laugh.
“Maybe I shouldn’t have boasted your ego.”
“What ego?” I jokingly say.
I look over to my clock, seeing the time and it was already 11:30.
I was surprised Charlie hadn’t come and told me to go to bed.
“Ah, we should go to bed.” I start to say, I heard a small thump from Bella’s room upstairs and I stood up carefully strutting towards the door.
“[Name]?” Jacob calls, I snap out of whatever trance I was in. Not hearing anything else from Bella’s room so I go back to my bed.
“Sorry I got distracted. Goodnight, Jake.” My voice was a little raspy from being tired.
“Goodnight.” He ends up hanging up the phone and I lay back in my bed.
Thinking about everything that happened today.
Chapter three, edited.

Intention
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plot: Eric has always been protective of you, he's your best-friend, so of course he is, it comes with the territory, right? But once he interrupts another one of your dates, you start to wonder if it might be something else entirely.
Pairing: Eric | Sohn Youngjae x Gn!Reader
Warnings: Use of Y/n. A couple kisses towards the end.
Words: 2.8k
Tumblr media
There was coincidence and then there was intention. Something you were starting to understand the difference between.
A coincidence is when you run into your friend during a date once.
A coincidence is not when you run into that friend every time you were on a date.
Your eyes flicked back and forth from the man in front of you and to the door where you swore you saw a familiar head of hair outside of the restaurant. Looking around and seeing no sign of Eric, you let out a soft breath. It must just be your imagination.
Or the trauma perhaps, of Eric somehow always ending up at your dates.
The first time, you thought it really was a coincidence. He, Juyeon and Jacob showed up “by chance” and saw you. The date became something else entirely when they decided to join you. You never went on another date with that guy.
The second time, Eric called you in the middle of your date for an emergency, which, once you arrived at his place in a frenzy, turned out to be him losing his laptop charger and wanting to borrow yours.
The reasons your dates always got cut short varied. Eric got stranded and needed a ride, he wanted some Italian and happened to go to the same restaurant as you. He and Changmin wanted to go to the arcade for the third time this week, it just so happened it was the same one you were with a date at.
You decided that Eric was doing it on purpose. But, not for the reason you wanted. Not because you wanted him to be jealous, but simply because he was protective of you. Like a sibling, a brother that wanted to make sure you never dated.
You hated it. You didn’t want Eric to protect you like a sibling, it only made your hidden feelings for him feel more pathetic.
So, whenever you had a date now, you didn’t tell Eric, hell you didn’t tell any of the boys, knowing they would let it slip to Eric anyways.
This was your third date with the guy in front of you, Sunghoon. He was cute, and nice, and you were comfortable about him. But that was it. There were no sparks, no desires. You told yourself you would have three dates with him, and if there was nothing there by the third, you would accept it. It was disappointing to say the least.
Nodding along to his story, your eyes had naturally moved to the door as someone entered. Your heart jolted as goosebumps rose up your arms. It really was Eric. But how did he know you were here? He had no idea you had been on a few dates with this guy, let alone that you had one tonight. So how did he find you? There was no way it was actually a coincidence.
As Eric’s eyes met yours he paused before he smiled. You saw a sheepishness to the action that made you realize you were probably giving him a look that could kill.
Sunghoon paused, “What’s wrong?”
Looking back at him you cleared your throat. “Oh sorry, just saw my friend come in.”
“Oh?” Looking around, Sunghoon’s eyes fell on Eric as he walked towards your table.
Eric grinned as he approached, “Y/n!” He greeted, as you eyed him suspiciously.
Eric introduced himself to Sunghoon as he sat in the seat beside you. “Wha- why are you sitting?”
Eric looked at you with an innocent smile, “Huh? Can’t I?”
You looked between him and Sunghoon, “Eric, we’re- we’re on a date.”
Eric opened his mouth in realization, and you could tell it was fake. He already knew. This was on purpose.
Looking at Sunghoon he chuckled, “Oops. Sorry. But, hey, it’s a good time to introduce myself, right?”
As you took a drink of water, your chest tightening, you missed the subtle glaring look Eric gave Sunghoon. Sunghoon rose his brow in confusion at the sudden look of murder thrown his way.
As Sunghoon tried to save the moment, he asked Eric if he was here to have dinner with friends.
Eric just smiled and shook his head. "No, I was just walking by and saw you guys. So I thought I'd say hi, maybe get some food while I'm here."
Pulling out your phone, you texted Eric, knowing you couldn't confront him in front of Sunghoon.
'I know you already went to dinner with the boys, so why are you really here?'
Eric stole your glass of water and took a drink as he checked his phone under the table. You could see him replying as you tried to talk to Sunghoon again. You might not care if nothing happens after this date, but you felt bad for the situation Eric put him in.
'I just wanted to make sure this guy was worth your time. You seem to like him enough to keep your dates a secret.'
As you read the text you spared a glance at Eric, seeing the annoyance that your secret caused.
'I kept it a secret because you always do this. How did you find out anyways?'
"Did you want to get dessert Sunghoon?" You asked innocently.
He smiled and nodded as he checked over the menu.
"I'll have the brownie." Eric added with a smile and you stared at him.
Sunghoon hesitated briefly. "Yeah sure." He smiled, obviously feeling awkward.
Looking at the text reply you sighed internally.
'Nari told me about it.'
You expected one of the boys to tell Eric about your date, which is why you kept it a secret. But your best friend knarking? You did not expect that.
Another text came in and you felt your heart jolt.
'He seems kind of boring, why would you choose him? You should have just come here with me.'
The restaurant you were at was a well known date and couple spot. Why would you come with Eric?
"I'm gonna use the bathroom." You said as you stood up, Sunghoon smiled and nodded.
Eric grinned up at you as if he was innocent in this situation. You spared him a quick glare before heading to the rest room.
Something in his text showed jealousy, but you weren't sure if you were overthinking. Taking a few minutes to gather your thoughts, and thinking of a way to save your date, or at least end it easily, you finally headed back to the table.
You noted the obvious difference in the atmosphere between the two boys, and you immedietely regretted leaving. You gave Eric a look but he avoided your gaze.
'Oh God what did he do?' You thought to yourself as you sat down.
Sunghoon cleared his throat, "I'm sorry Y/n, but something came up." He shook the phone in his hand. "I have to go. But I'll text you later okay? I'll pay the bill on the way out, so don't worry about it."
He spared Eric a glance after this comment as he stood, and something told you, you would not be getting that text.
"Oh, okay, thank you. Is everything alright?"
"Yeah just a small family emergency. I'm sorry again."
After he left the restaurant, silence lingered between you and Eric for a moment before you turned towards him.
"What did you say to him?"
Eric looked at you with a raised brow, "What? I didn't do anything!"
Which of course was a lie.
As soon as you were out of ear shot Eric gave Sunghoon a sly smile as Sunghoon swallowed nervously.
"You don't have a chance."
Sunghoon stared at Eric for a second before scoffing. "And why's that?"
"Three dates and I never heard about you. Must mean Y/n's not interested."
"Why would they tell you anything?"
"We're best-friends."
Sunghoon leaned back in his seat. "Something tells me you don't want to be."
Eric smiled and leaned back as well. "You're right. Me and Y/n are meant to be together, so I recommend you back off."
Sunghoon almost laughed. "Sure you aren't a bit delusional? If you were meant to be, wouldn't you be together by now?"
"You don't need to worry about that. All you need to know, is that you aren't worthy of even breathing in Y/n direction."
Before Sunghoon could retaliate, Eric continued. "What's Y/n's favorite color? Favorite band? Favorite food? Fears? Dreams? When you look at Y/n, do you picture your future together?"
Sunghoon let out a bewildered scoff. "Dude we've only been on three dates."
Eric leaned forward, putting his arms on the table. "Exactly. Yet, I knew the answer to all of those things after knowing Y/n for three days. You don't have a chance in hell dude. Not with me around. So I suggest you drop whatever this is while you can."
Sunghoon sighed, seeing you walking back to the table, he decided as much as he liked your company, it wasn't worth it. Grabbing his phone he cleared his throat.
Eric struggled to keep back his shit-eating grin as Sunghoon excused himself and left.
And now as you stared him down, knowing he did something, he could barely resist smiling proudly.
Sighing, you stood up as Eric followed, feeling a bit guilty as he noticed the disappointed look on your face. You weren't actually into that guy were you?
Once you got outside, you started to head towards your car, ignoring Eric as he followed right behind you.
"Did you really like him?"
Spinning around, Eric stumbled back, surprised.
"How did you even get here?"
Eric spoke sheepishly, "Hyunjae gave me a ride. Can you drop me back off?" He gave you a puppy-dog smile and you sighed softly.
"I should leave you on the sidewalk."
"But you wont...you wont right?"
Turning away you headed towards your car and Eric jogged to catch up.
"Come on Y/n, that guy was totally not worth your effort."
You stopped and faced him once again. "And how would you know that? Did you even catch his name?"
"Yeah, it was Sung...Sung-something."
You rolled your eyes. "Eric, why do you keep doing this?"
"Did you actually like him?" Eric asked again, ignoring your question.
You opened your mouth but closed it again letting out a sigh. "You are lucky I didn't because if I did and you pulled that shit again I would not be talking to you at all right now."
Eric felt relief wash over him, "Well then I did you a favor didn't I?"
"A favor? Eric you embarrassed me. At this point I'll end up alone forever because of you."
Eric pouted. "No you wont, you have me. You'll always have me."
You sighed, feeling your heart cracking a little. He would never understand.
“I’m talking about a relationship Eric, not a friendship. Its not the same.” You turned to unlocked your car as Eric spoke.
“It can be.”
You were about to respond before you paused, thinking about his words again. Turning back you looked at him with a confused gaze.
“What?”
He swallowed, his heart hammering in his chest, “It can be the same. It can be a relationship.”
Your words got stuck in your throat as your thoughts seemed to vanish. Finally finding your voice, you shook your head in bewilderment. “Wh- wait I’m confused.”
Eric sighed as he took a step closer to you, gently grabbed your arms as he stared you down.
“I don’t chase off all your suitors because I see you as a sibling Y/n. I do it because I’ve been in love with you for years.”
His words stunned you into silence as you stared at him. All this time you thought it was because he saw you as family. And now he just told you it wasn't that? That you were wrong, all this time?
All this time you spent forcing yourself on dates, hoping one day you would find someone that would make you forget your unrequited feelings. Unrequited feelings you were apparently wrong about.
“You- you’re in love with me?”
He let out a soft sigh as he nodded. You might not feel the same, he knew that. This might jeopardize your friendship, he knew that too. But you had to know. He couldn't keep living every day with this pain in his heart.
“Yes. And, even if I can't be with you. I hate the idea of letting anyone else have you. And I was afraid you would never want me like that, so, I decided to just…sabotage any chance you had with someone else. “
As the words left his mouth he felt guilt wash over him. Was he really keeping you from being happy? Would you hate him now? He avoided your eyes as he let go of your arms, wondering if this was the last time he would really be close with you.
You could see both the sincerity of his words on his face, and the guilt at his admission of why he always ruined your possible relationships.
“You should have told me sooner Eric.” He met your eyes, and you continued. “We could have avoided all of it.”
His chest tightened. “All of what?”
Your heart was pounding painfully as you felt short of breath. “Thinking our love was unrequited.”
Your words ran through Eric's brain a few times before he really seemed to process them. “Our love?”
You nod softly, as you struggled to find your breath. “I've been in love with you for years too Eric.”
The two of you stared each other down for a moment as Eric processes what you said. All this time, you felt the same.
"Then...why go on these dates?"
You let out a sad chuckle. "So I could get over you."
He let out a breath of realization before he suddenly grabbed you and pulled you into his chest. You grunted in surprise as you now rested your head in the crook of his neck.
You could feel his pounding heart as his breath was uneven. He spoke into your ear, desperation and excitement in his voice.
“Say you meant it, say you’re not joking.”
You smiled softly, “I mean it Eric. Its not a joke.”
He pulled away from you and stared at you intensely, the ghost of a smile on his face.
“Do you mean it?” You asked.
He nodded as the faint smile turned into a grin as he cupped your face in his hands.
“I mean it.”
Your smile mirrored his own as he let out a happy giggle. His eyes scanned your face before lingering on your lips. You felt your ears and neck burn hotter.
"I've always wanted to kiss you." He met your eyes. "Can I?"
You bit the inside of your lip nervously as you nodded.
Grinning he gently pulled your face closer as he leaned in. Your lips brushed together as his eyes stayed locked with yours. Slowly you closed your eyes as he smiled just as his lips met yours.
He was still for a second as the moment sank in, before he slowly started to move his lips with yours. His fingers gripped your face a little tighter as he struggled to contain himself.
Moving his hands down to your waist, he pulled you closer to him as he gave in a little and deepened the kiss.
Your whole body seemed to tingle and feel light as you wrapped your arms around his neck, leaning deeper into the kiss. Eric let out a involuntary sigh at this as his grip tightened and he deepened the kiss further.
You don't know how long you got lost in the embrace, but finally pulling apart to catch your breath your eyes caught before you both broke into grins. Eric let out a soft chuckle as he gently caressed your cheek.
"I really do love you Y/n. I'm sorry it took me this long to tell you."
You felt almost overwhelmed as you smiled softly at him. "And I really do love you too Eric. I could have said something too. I think we were both just afraid to ruin our friendship."
Eric wrapped his arms around you and pulled you closer again as he smiled at you. "I think so too. But hey, now our friendship isn't ruined, its just upgraded."
You giggled, "You're right."
He kissed you again, smiling into your lips. Pulling away he let out a sigh as he hugged you tightly.
"Now I get to be the only one to take you on dates."
You smiled as you rested your head on his chest. "Good. You owe me a few anyway after the ones you ruined."
Eric blew a raspberry and you chuckled. "Ruined, please. I'll take you on better dates than those guy's ever could."
"Oh yeah?"
He nodded as he rested his head against yours. "Just watch."
As you giggled softly Eric chuckled, swaying slightly as he held you against him. He'll do whatever he needs to, to prove that he was right. You really were meant to be with him.
xx End xx

Midas Man review (with spoilers!)
Yesterday I had the unique opportunity to watch a biopic about Brian Epstein. Although the film is currently only available in certain countries, @pauls1967moustache organized a watch party, which I joined. Thank you!!!
"Midas Man" has many advantages. The main one is the leading male role: Jacob Fortune-Lloyd did a great job. He perfectly portrayed Brian's complex personality. He was able to convincingly present both his uncertainty and tremors, as well as his perseverance in promoting the Beatles. Eppy said with full confidence that his boys would be bigger than Elvis - clearly he believed it deeply, even when higher-ups in the music industry laughed in his face. Fortune-Lloyd also convincingly played Brian's emotions related to his sexuality. On the one hand, Epstein did not want to run away from his nature, but on the other - he was well aware that sex between men was a crime and could expose him to blackmail. In one scene, Brian's parents pressure him to be more careful because revealing his sexual orientation in the newspapers could discredit the family business and end the careers of the Beatles and other artists he manages. Brian, filled with guilt, apologizes to his parents for "causing them pain." I have been following this thread with interest and I am glad that it has not been omitted or trivialized.
Unfortunately, the love story disappointed me. It was very cliché. Brian met someone he quickly began to care about. Tex did not reciprocate his feelings, he just wanted to have fun and benefit from Epstein's influence. Ultimately, he left without saying goodbye, stealing money and documents. I know the real Brian dated some shady guys, but it wasn't portrayed very convincingly in the movie. Perhaps Edward Speleers, the actor playing Tex, failed.
How did the Beatles fare? Not bad, but... nothing more. I must praise Blake Richardson, who played Paul - his facial expressions were very reminiscent of McCartney's. Blake was very authentic, I felt like I was looking at Paul. I also liked Wallace Campbell as Ringo. Unfortunately, the remaining Beatles were exaggerated. I'm thinking specifically about George (played by Leo Harvey Elledge). John, on the other hand, lacked depth. I had the impression that he was just a cheeky kid who thought he was entitled to everything. The young Lennon had a more complex personality. Besides, Jonah Lees who played him almost didn't look like him at all xD Speaking of which, the wigs looked terrible in most scenes. I guess there wasn't enough budget for it.
I was surprised (in a negative sense) by the complete omission of an important thread in the history of the Beatles: Brian's infatuation with John. Whether or not Lennon reciprocated the feeling, it was largely Epstein's motivation to pursue the band. When we jumped from 1963 to 1964 and there was no mention of the trip to Barcelona, I was confused. Instead, the creators decided to focus on a fictional romance between Brian and Tex.
The advantage of the biopic is that viewers have the opportunity to meet other artists that Epstein managed. In one scene, Brian proudly introduces us to Billy J. Kramer, Tommy Quickly and... Cilla Black (Darci Shaw). Brian and Cilla's relationship is definitely one of the most touching and adorable elements of the entire film. It is clear that the singer is Epstein's favorite, and not only in professional terms. They are simply a pair of devoted friends. From what I understood, Cilla knew about Brian's orientation and fully accepted it.
"Midas Man" is a decent movie, better than I expected. However, these are not the heights of cinematography. I had the impression that Brian was presented somewhat sweetly, as a person without flaws (perhaps his family took part in consulting the script?). I think a rating of 7/10 would be fair.

Crossing Enemy Lines
Chapter Three
Luke Hughes x Original Character
Tumblr media
Warnings: Cussing, some toxic family dynamics, mentions of being used
A/N: I got really lazy writing this chapter so it may be a bit bumpy, but I hope you guys enjoy it. Chapter 4 will probably be out within the next week
November 12th, 2023
The sounds of blades slicing through a frozen surface fill the small practice rink in Newark, as the New Jersey Devils take the ice for their 9 AM practice.
Head Coach Lindy Ruff, gathers his players on center ice, his stern expression a clear indication of his displeasure with the personnel occupying the sea of red and white jerseys in front of him.
"Listen up boys," Ruff barks, his voice echoing off the boards, "We let in seven goals on Thursday! That's unacceptable"
Luke flinches at the reminder of Thursday's game, His mind recalling the feeling of disappointment he felt, followed by the memory of meeting Jordan.
"We can't be giving up chances like that, especially not to the Rangers" Ruff continues, his tone growing more frustrated "Jacob Trouba and his boys had a field day out there"
A surge of anger courses through Luke's veins at the mention of Jacob Trouba, prompting more unwelcome memories of Jordan to run through his mind.
Lindy continues his speech-which Luke has lost all interest in- as he feels himself getting more and more aggravated with each passing second, as the image of Jordan storming out of the cafe, plays on a loop in his head.
Then the loud sound of Ruff's whistle pierces through the air, signaling the beginning of practice. "Alright, let's start with some one-on-one battle drills," Ruff announces. "Luke, Mercer, you're up first. Let's see who comes out on top."
Luke takes a breath and skates towards the blue line, lining up in front of Dawson. As the whistle blows, they engage in a battle for the puck, sticks clashing and skates cutting through the ice. Luke tries to channel his frustration into the drill, using his body positioning to shield the puck while Dawson tries to exploit any openings in his defense.
"Good work, boys!" Ruff shouts. "Keep battling! Don't be lazy!"
The drill continues with each pairing taking a turn, and for a moment Luke's mind drifts back to Jordan.
He's mad, no he's pissed, he's pissed with the way things happened. He's pissed, that Jordan's last name is Trouba, he's pissed that out of all the fucking people he could've met, the one person, the one fucking person he works up the courage to talk to, to form a genuine fucking connection with, is the one fucking person he can't have.
A sigh escapes Luke's lips as he regains focus, and Ruff transitions the team into backchecking drills. "Forwards, I want to see you hustling back to help out your defensemen," he instructs. "Backcheck like your life depends on it!"
Luke throws himself into the drill, chasing down opposing forwards with a burning intensity. He disrupts passes and applies pressure, determined to shut down any offensive attempts.
But even as he pushes himself physically, he can't escape the nagging thoughts in his mind. He wants answers, he wants answers, to questions he doesn't even know how to ask.
He's mad, he's confused, and he's sad.
He’s sad that he met a girl he really likes and he can’t date her, he can’t hang out with her, he probably shouldn’t even talk her, and he’s sad that even if he could talk to her she probably wouldn’t wanna talk to him, because he's an idiot who fucked things up.
"Hughes, good hustle! That's what I wanna see in a game" Ruff praises. "Keep it up!"
Another sigh escapes his lips, as he continues pushing himself.
Halfway through practice, Ruff calls a five-minute water break. As the players gather around the bench, Dawson skates over to Luke with a mischievous grin. "Hey, Casanova! How'd it go with the girl you met the other night?"
Luke's jaw clenches. "Shut it, Dawson," he warns, his tone sharp.
John raises an eyebrow. "Ooh, touchy subject. Looks like our boy struck out."
"I said, shut it," Luke snaps, his patience wearing thin. The guys exchange glances, sensing the tension radiating from him.
Ruff blows his whistle, and moves the team to the net for some net-front presence drills. "Defensemen, your job is to clear the crease and make life difficult for the opposing forwards," he explains. "Forwards, battle for position and look for those dirty goals."
Luke positions himself in front of the net, engaging in physical battles with his teammates, and his mind wanders slightly, he wonders what they would say, if they knew, knew that the girl he met in the bar is Jacob Trouba’s sister. He knows they would tell him he can’t see her again, even though that bridge has already been burned.
But it’s like a part of him doesn’t know why, no actually that’s a lie, he knows why, he knows the rules, even if they’re unwritten,  you don’t date an opponent's sister, doesn’t matter the sport, the league, or the team, and if there was a rulebook for the NHL, the message No Devils player should date a Rangers sister would probably be bolded in red at the top of every page.
"Box out, Hughes! What are you doing?!" Ruff yells. "Don't let them establish position!"
Luke hesitates, trying to regain his composure, when one more thought comes, a small, tiny thought racing through his mind, a thought that causes goosebumps on his skin, a thought he's trying desperately to ignore, whispering maybe, just maybe, it’s worth it. Maybe?
The practice continues with passing drills, the players focusing on crisp, tape-to-tape passes. Luke tries to lose himself in the familiar rhythms of the game, but his mind keeps wandering back to Jordan.
A few of his teammates shoot him concerned glances, almost every time they notice a change in his focus, but each time he shakes off their glances, and their reassuring words telling him to focus on practice or asking if he's alright because the one thing he knows for certain, is that even though their relationship is over, his teammates never need to know is that he went on a date with the enemies sister, or that she won't leave his mind.
Then as practice nears its end, Ruff has the team skate lines, something Luke knows he can't fuck up.
The players line up on the goal line, their chests heaving and sweat dripping from their brows.
"Alright, boys, let's finish strong!" Ruff bellows. "On the whistle, skate to the red line and back. Keep pushing until I say stop!"
The shrill sound of the whistle pierces the air, and the players take off, their skates pounding against the ice.
They push themselves to the limit, legs burning and lungs screaming for air, as they continue to skate back and forth.
Until finally, Ruff raises his hand, motioning for the players to gather around.
"Alright, boys, that's enough for today," Ruff says, his tone softening slightly. "Good job. Hit the showers. We're leaving for Detroit at 11."
 *****
Jordan's eyes begin fluttering open, her body still wrapped in a cocoon of cozy blankets and sheets, embracing her in what feels like a warm hug.
She reaches for her phone, squinting as she checks the time: 11:04.
Memories of yesterday's date with Luke flood her mind, and a wave of disappointment washes over her.
With a sigh, she swipes away the notifications, her mind still groggy, and swings her legs over the side of the bed, taking a moment to gather her thoughts before standing up and making her way to the living room.
As she walks, she can't help but feel upset and angry about how things ended with Luke. She really liked him, and their connection had been undeniable.
But the fact that he couldn't see past the rivalry between his team and her brother's? It's stupid, it's frustrating and it's disappointing.
"Hey, Jordy," Jacob greets her as she enters the living room.
To her surprise, Jacob is sitting on the couch, his attention focused on the TV. He had been away the previous two days, the Rangers having a back-to-back with the second half being an away game in Pittsburg.
"Hey, when did you get home?" Jordan asks, her voice still thick with sleep as she settles onto the couch beside him.
"Not till about one this morning" Jacob explains. Jordan nods, knowing she was still awake at that time, and probably too distracted by her thoughts to hear him come into the apartment.
"How was Pittsburgh?" She asks
"Eh, same old, same old. We got the win, so that's what matters." Jacob nudges her gently. "So, Kelly told me you had a date yesterday. How'd it go?"
Jordan shrugs, not particularly wanting to delve into the details. "It was fine," she says noncommittally.
Jacob raises an eyebrow. "Just fine? Do I need to beat someone up?" he jokes, trying to lighten the mood.
A small smile tugs at the corner of Jordan's mouth. "No, no. It just... didn't go well, that's all."
"You sure you don't want to talk about it?" Jacob prods gently, concern evident in his voice.
Jordan shakes her head. "I'm sure. It's not a big deal."
Jacob studies her for a moment before deciding not to push further. "Alright, well, in that case, you and I are going to lunch. Come on, my treat."
Jordan lets out a small laugh, appreciating her brother's attempt to cheer her up, "Alright just let me get dressed and brush my teeth" Jordan says
She heads back to her room to get dressed, choosing a comfortable outfit for their outing.
Then the siblings make their way to a local restaurant, not too far from their apartment, the aroma of freshly cooked food and the buzz of conversation enveloping them as they step inside. They settle into a booth, perusing the menu as they wait for their server.
Once they place their orders-a salad with Salmon for Jacob and a club sandwich with fries for Jordan-Jacob leans back, his eyes fixed on Jordan. "So how's NYU treating you?" he asks, with genuine interest in his voice.
Jordan brightens a little, "It's great," she gushes, launching into a detailed account of her classes and the new friends she's made.
Soon their food arrives, and they begin eating.
Their conversation naturally shifts to hockey, with Jacob recounting the details of the Rangers' recent games. "-But the game against the Devils was great, but intense cus they're all a bunch of softies" he remarks, oblivious to the way Jordan tenses slightly at the mention of Luke's team. "Pretty sure half their players threatened to cut my head off before the third period. But the Devils are all fucking talk, the scored one goal, and kept complaining for hits we made, but the fucking lost anyway, and with the way they were playing, a power play wouldn't have made any difference."
Jordan forces a laugh, trying to push away the thoughts of Luke that inevitably surface. "Yeah, that's crazy. Y'all really hate the Devils?"
Jacob, laughs before responding "Well of course, we're supposed to plus, they're all assholes so who would wanna like them"
"Yeah, right" Jordan says
Jacob continues to talk about the game, but Jordan finds herself only half-listening, her mind drifting back to Luke and their ill-fated date. She can't help but wonder what he's doing now if he's thinking about her too.
Noticing her distraction, Jacob pauses. "Hey, you okay?"
Snapping back to the present, Jordan nods. "Yeah, sorry. Just got lost in thought for a second."
"No worries." Jacob takes a sip of his drink before changing the subject. "So, Thanksgiving is coming up. Kelly and I were thinking of hosting the team at our place this year. You're still cool with that, right?"
Jordan's heart skips a beat at the thought of being in the same room as a bunch of Rangers players, but she knows she can't say no, well actually she could but, she won't. "Yeah, of course. That sounds great."
"Awesome. It'll be fun, having everyone together like that. And who knows, maybe you'll even meet someone new." Jacob winks playfully.
Jordan scoffs playfully, "You'd want me to date a Ranger?"
Jacob shrugs "Nah probably not, but if you did I would be okay with it, as long as it's a Ranger, though, otherwise find a different sport"
Jordan forces a laugh, her thoughts once again turning to Luke.
If only her brother knew the truth, the truth that she's already met a guy who plays hockey, a guy who wears a different crest on his jersey, a guy who keeps running through her mind.
 *****
The Detroit skyline looms in the distance as the New Jersey Devils' plane touches down on the runway. The team disembarks, collecting their luggage and boarding the team bus that will take them to their hotel.
As a rookie on an entry-level contract, Luke shares a room with his teammate, Alex Holtz.
Once in their room, Luke puts his stuff down and flops onto the bed.
He begins absentmindedly scrolling through his phone, when a knock at the door interrupts his mindless browsing, and he gets up to answer it.
Jack stands in the hallway, an expectant look on his face.
"You ready to go?" Jack asks.
Luke blinks, confused. "Where?"
Jack gives him a look. "To see Mom and Dad. We're getting lunch. Did you forget?"
Rolling his eyes, Luke tries to play it off, even though he really did forget "No, I just need a few minutes to get dressed."
"Alright, hurry up. I'm gonna call an Uber." Jack turns to leave.
"Okay," Luke replies, closing the door. He quickly changes into a pair of black jeans, a long-sleeved shirt, and a flannel before grabbing his stuff and saying bye to Alex.
The brothers meet up in the lobby and climb into the waiting Uber.
As they drive through the familiar streets of Detroit, Luke remains quiet, lost in thought as he watches the scenery pass by.
They arrive at the restaurant and spot their parents, Jim and Ellen, already seated at a table. Ellen waves them over, standing up to give each of her sons a warm hug. They sit down and place their orders, falling into easy conversation.
"So, boys, how's the season going so far?" Jim asks, taking a sip of his water.
"It's been good, Dad," Jack replies. "We've had a few tough losses, but overall, the team is really coming together."
Ellen smiles. "That's great to hear. And how about you, Luke? How are you adjusting to life in the NHL?"
Luke shrugs. "It's been a learning curve, but I feel like I'm starting to find my footing."
The conversation turns to family updates and upcoming holiday plans until Jack casually lets it slip that Luke had a date yesterday.
Ellen's eyes light up. "Ooh, a date? Give me the details!"
Luke shoots Jack a glare before turning to his mother. "It was just a date, Mom. It didn't work out. I don't really want to talk about it."
Jim leans forward, curiosity piqued. "Why not? What happened?"
"It just didn't work out, Dad. Can we please drop it?" Luke pleads, feeling uncomfortable.
"Oh, come on, Luke," Ellen says, her tone gentle. "We're just curious. It's not every day you go on a date."
Luke sighs, somewhat fighting the sarcastic urge to thank his mother, for bringing that detail to light.
"Seriously, Luke it's been a while since you've had a girlfriend" Jack states
This time the sarcastic quip isn't fought back as he responds "Thank you, Sherlock"
"We're just saying Luke, it might be nice for you to have someone" His mom adds
Luke sighs, he thinks it would be nice too, but unfortunately that hasn't happened yet,
"I know can we just drop it" Luke states, his voice raising slightly.
An awkward silence falls over the table.
After a moment, Jim clears his throat. "So, that game against the Rangers." he says, shifting the topic, which unknowingly causes just as much frustration for Luke, as their previous one, especially considering how Jim chooses to approach the conversation.
Jim leans forward, his expression serious. "Luke, You seemed a bit off"
Luke shifts uncomfortably in his seat. "It was a tough match, Dad. The Rangers are a strong team."
"That's no excuse," Jim counters. "You can't let the other team dictate your play. You need to be more aggressive, take control of the game."
"I'm trying, Dad," Luke sighs, feeling the familiar pressure of his father's expectations weighing on him.
Jim continues, "And what about that turnover in the second period? You can't be making mistakes like that, especially not in your own zone. The other team is just gonna eat that up and score on you"
Luke feels his frustration rising. "I know, Dad. I'm working on it."
Ellen, sensing the tension, tries to intervene. "Jim, honey, I'm sure Luke is doing his best. It's not easy being a rookie in the NHL."
But Jim is undeterred. "The best players find a way to rise above the challenges. If you want to make a name for yourself in this league, Luke, you need to be better."
Jack, noticing Luke's clenched jaw, attempts to diffuse the situation. "Come on, Dad. Luke's been putting in a lot of hard work. His coach has been giving him good feedback. Plus he's producing well"
"Hard work is important," Jim acknowledges, " and he is producing well, but don't forget you're a defenseman, points mean nothing, if you keep giving easy goals away."
Luke's frustration boils over. "I got it," he snaps, his voice louder than intended.
An awkward silence falls over the table again and Jack nudges Luke, silently telling him to calm down.
"So, Mom, how's the garden coming along?" Jack asks, steering the conversation to safer ground.
Ellen smiles, grateful for the diversion. "Oh, it's going great," she gushes, launching into a detailed description.
The rest of the lunch passes more pleasantly, as they finish their food, and stick to more neutral topics.
Then the check arrives, and Jim insists on paying, waving away Luke and Jack's protests. They say their goodbyes, Ellen hugging her sons tightly and making them-specifically Jack-promise to call more often, before they go their separate ways.
In the Uber back to the hotel, Jack nudges Luke. "You alright, man? You seem a bit more on edge. You usually don't let dad get to you like that?"
Luke sighs, rubbing his face. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just got a lot on my mind."
Jack nods, silently clapping his brother on the back.
They arrive back at the hotel and Luke makes his way to his room, before lying down on the bed, his mind still reeling from the ups and downs of the day.
His phone buzzes with a new notification, he picks it up, seeing the contact name, it's one of his best friends Dylan Duke: Hey man, we still on for dinner tonight with Mark and Ethan at 8?
Luke types out a quick reply: Yeah, see you then.
He sets his phone aside and closes his eyes, trying to calm his swirling thoughts.
 *****
Jordan sits at her desk, a textbook open in front of her and a pen poised in her hand. She's been staring at the same page for the past half hour, the words blurring together as her mind wanders back to Luke.
She leans back in her chair, a heavy sigh escaping her lips, as she recalls the nervous smile, on his face, when they met on Thursday, it was cute, charming, just like his laugh, and his hazel eyes, or his competitiveness during their game of pool, that was just the right amount of cockiness to keep him from coming off as arrogant. She can't lie, she felt a connection with him, a connection she hasn't felt in a really long time.
And just like last time, her last name ruined everything, it's ridiculous, that a stupid rivalry caused all this, a stupid rivalry she's not even a part of, ok well yes her last name, but like not her.
Jordan reaches for her phone, her fingers hovering over his contact. She wants to text him, tell him she's not her brother, and her life shouldn't be dictated because of it, she wants to tell him that, she really fucking wants to.
But how would she even say that? "Sorry my brother is your team's biggest rival, but I don't have a problem with the Devils so can we still date?"
She laughs bitterly at the thought. It sounds ridiculous, even to her own ears.
And yet, a part of her doesn't care. A part of her wants to do it anyway, say fuck it.
But she knows it's not that simple. She knows the unwritten rules, the lines that can't be crossed, blah, blah, blah, they're stupid.
Her mind wanders to past relationships, to the boys who only saw her as a stepping stone, a way to get their foot in the door with the Rangers. She remembers the hurt, the betrayal, the feeling of being used.
But with Luke, she thought'd it'd be different outcome, but the outcomes the same, just took a different route, a route still dictated by her fucking last name.
Luke had been a breath of fresh air, someone who seemed to genuinely care about her, who made her feel seen and heard. And now, she may have lost him forever.
A single tear slips down her cheek, and she quickly wipes it away, not wanting to let herself wallow in self-pity.
"Jordan!" Jacob's voice echoes from the kitchen, startling her out of her thoughts. "Dinner's ready!"
She takes a deep breath, composing herself before responding, "Be right there!"
With one last glance at her phone, she sets it down on the desk, the screen still displaying Luke's contact. She knows she can't text him, can't reach out, no matter how much she wants to.
 *****
Around 7:45 Luke leaves the hotel to meet up with Dylan, Ethan and Mark. They decide on a sushi restaurant that's walking distance from Luke's hotel.
As they settle into their seats, the conversation quickly turns to life at Michigan.
"Man, you should see the new freshmen," Dylan says, a grin on his face. "They're a riot, especially this one kid from Canada. He's always trying to impress the girls with his accent. It's hilarious."
Ethan laughs, shaking his head. "Remember that party last weekend? I swear, I've never seen someone drink that much and still be standing."
Mark chimes in, recounting a particularly memorable moment from their latest hockey practice. "And then Coach just lost it, started yelling at everyone to get their acts together. I thought he was gonna blow a gasket."
As his friends continue to share stories and updates, Luke finds himself only half-listening. His mind keeps drifting back to Jordan and the way things ended between them. He also can't shake the feeling of nostalgia, missing the carefree days of college life.
Dylan notices Luke's distraction and nudges him. "Hey, man, what's up? You're too cool for us now that you're in the NHL?"
Luke snaps out of his thoughts, looking at his friend. "Of course not," he says, a small smile on his face.
Dylan grins, throwing his hands up in mock surrender. "Just kidding, dude. But seriously, what's going on? You seem a little off."
Luke hesitates for a moment before opening up. "I met this girl on Friday, and I really liked her. We went out yesterday, but things took a turn for the worse." He doesn't mention her last name, keeping that detail to himself.
His friends listen intently as Luke continues. "We got into a disagreement about something, and it kind of ended everything."
Mark leans forward, his eyes sympathetic. "Do you like her? I mean, really like her?"
Luke nods, a wistful expression on his face. "Yeah, a lot."
Ethan places a hand on Luke's shoulder. "Then it shouldn't matter, man. If you care about each other, you can work through whatever the problem is."
Dylan suddenly looks serious, a rare occurrence for him. "Hold up, she doesn't hate hockey, does she?"
Luke can't help but chuckle at the question. "No, she doesn't hate hockey."
"Then Ethan's right," Dylan says, a smile returning to his face. "Whatever the issue is, you guys can figure it out."
Mark and Ethan nod in agreement, encouraging Luke to reach out to Jordan and try to make amends.
"I don't know, man" Luke says, uncertainty creeping into his voice. "What if she doesn't want to hear from me?"
"You won't know unless you try," Mark points out. "Just send her a text, see how she responds. What's the worst that could happen?"
Luke considers their advice, his mind racing with possibilities, before he lets out a chuckle "When the hell did you guys get brains?" He jokes.
"Junior year apparently" Dylan remarks, resulting in a laugh from the table.
The conversation shifts back to lighter topics, as they finish up their meal, before remaining at the table, for at least another hour, before Luke has to get back to the hotel, for room checks.
Once back in his room, he notices Alex already asleep, always an early sleeper, unlike himself, so Luke quietly changes into his sweats and a t- shirt, before lying on his bed, staring at the ceiling. He replays his friends' words in his head, contemplating texting her.
And in a moment of impulse, he grabs his phone, his fingers hovering over the screen. Before he can second-guess himself, he types out a simple message to Jordan: I'm sorry.
He hits send, his heart pounding in his chest as he waits for a response that may never come.

pack x reader when she told them about girls math 👀👀
🥑anon
ooo okay 💜 hope you enjoy :)
444 + 222 - pack x reader
Two arms were stretched out as the hold was intertwined with a hand of each of you and Sam’s. His legs followed yours as you walked the pavement.
Time ticked as your hand reach on your jacket, the pocket was zipped up still from when you found and put it on.
Your hand idly unzip and stick your hand right on in, just to find something papery. Your fingers smooth over as you pull it out, thinking it could’ve been trash. Pulling it out, money that you forgot that you had in there was staring back at you between your fingers.
Gasping happily, you get Sam’s attention as he shares happiness for your such fortuity.
Walking in the direction of the coffee shop that you have always been meant to go, Sam follows close behind.
Holding the iced liquid in the plastic cup with your hands, Sam could do nothing but shake his head.
"So let me get this straight." he starts as you sip small sips, patiently waiting for him as he processes what you told him.
"Cash is free money because it doesn’t come out of your account?”
“Right.” you answer.
“And it’s because of…‘girl math’.. right?”
“Right.
He then laughs to himself as he caught on.
“I don’t think twelve dollars for an iced coffee is exactly free.”
“But I still have the same amount of money in my bank account. I didn’t have to touch a dime.” you say as you encourage him to understand.
Even though he understood what you meant, he had a kick out of learning the ways of girl math, as he liked to understand the mechanics behind it. After all, you were just a girl.
Paul's ears heard your stomach growling as the engine of the car growled, wheeling both passengers.
Admitting that he's hungry as well, you both pull to a stop.
Retrieving the food that you asked for, you ripped the strips of chicken as Paul watched carefully as he chewed his own food.
“Should I ask what you are doing?” he asked.
“Instead of ten pieces, ripping them in half gives me twenty.” you state and you shuffle them a bit to show off the point at hand.
“So, just bite them.” Paul says but you explain to him how it’s the same.
“According to what?” he asks.
“Girl math.” you tell him.
Plucking one of the pieces up, he places it in his mouth and chews.
You gawk at him a bit as you wave his hand off, “You have your own.”
“Girl math gave you twenty pieces. You can share.” he teases.
The receipt was in Jacob’s fingers as he stared down at the thin white slip. He shakes his head in disappointment.
The hang of the newly bought sweater was in your procession as you were waiting for him to tell you what he called you for. You were dying to try the sweater on to see how it would look as you build an outfit with it.
“I thought you said you were going to work on saving money?” Jacob asked, he was excited the moment when you told him this.
You roll your eyes playfully as you say, “What do you mean, I did save money.”
“How? I cannot wait to hear what you have to say.” Jacob says after asking for clear understanding as he glanced at the receipt and back to you.
At the end of the reason how you saved money by buying something on sale, he still has a look of confusion.
“You sure there’s no error in girl math?” he asks.
You scoff a bit as you then tell him, “Wait until I tell you that returning an item is another way of making money.”
He was impressed a bit. Words couldn’t be formed from him when you really were making your money right back. It wasn’t like the profit wasn’t coming back to you. He understood such logic.
Embry didn’t understand why you agreed to another side gig.
“This means I will see you less.” he says somberly.
“No it won’t. It’s just girl math.”
His ears were in tuned by your lips telling him how if you work another side job, you would be able to give yourself everything that you want.
He wasn’t too sure how to feel about it.
“Do you think your girl math will allow me to still be around you?” he asks.
“Of course. It’s always accurate.” you reassure him. If you were confident in it, he was confident in it.
Your phone buzzes as you press the green button to answer Jared’s call.
“Hey are you okay?” he asks on the other line.
“Yes, I’m okay.” you told him.
“Where are you? It’s kinda noisy in the background.”
“At the mall.”
“The mall? I thought that you said that you were taking a walk?”
“I am taking a walk.” you say in confusion.
“Like you told me you were going to the gym.”
“Yeah, I figured I take my walk at the mall.” you say with a quirk as he chuckles.
“Where’d you get that idea from?” he asks.
“It’s not an idea. It’s a lifestyle. It’s girl math.” you say as you pass a shop that had the strong scent of perfume wafting under your nose.
Jared agrees that the treadmill is too stagnant.
“And it’s cold inside of the mall.” he comments.
“See, you get it.” you smile into the phone.
Floating down the steps, Quil was shocked when he took in your appearance.
“You’re ready already?” he asks.
Today, you didn’t need to take long. You were able to get ready in 20 minutes, the immaculate managing of your time. Not having to change your routine, the day was off to a good start.
“Yeah.” you ask him. You’re capable of making him say,
“How is that possible?” he asks as he grabs the car keys off of the hook.
“Girl math is just being able to get ready in 20 minutes but also in 3 hours depending on how much time I have. I have the exact same routine.” you explain to him as you both walk down the driveway.
Silence soared as both feet walk along the pavement to get to the vehicle.
“What?” Quil asks as he tried his best to keep a mind on how to understand.
“It’s not that complicated.” you huff as he opens the car door for you.
“I don’t think Einstein would be able to solve it.” he tells you.
“He’s not a girl.” you smirk and say.
“Okay, you got me there.” Quil says as he clicks in his seatbelt.
Seth thought it was smart. Not much explaining was needed. It reminded him the unexplainable things that Leah did. Catching onto the system was like counting by 2’s.
“So, that’s what girls call it.” Seth says in his head, feeling like he is the founder of newfound discovery.
“It’s free. ” you say to Seth as your mother was buying a nicely made coat.
At first he was a bit confused, “How is it free? Your mom’s paying for it right?”
“She’s paying for it. She’s going to end up letting me borrow it, so basically she bought it for me and her.” you say happily.
“Ohhh. That is true.” Seth says as he nods and you both come to great understanding.
