in fire emblem i literally stopped playing, when they tried to tell me that the archer guy was not bisexual. 'cause you can't romance him if you're a male character? and i'm like You're Just Wrong. That's the Most Bisexual man i've ever seen

i know from your art that i've seen that you like the terror, funger and fe3h, i'm curious if there's anything else you enjoy? honestly with the amount of overlap we have i'm taking your interests as endorsements 😭 i'm planning to start the terror when i have a bit more free time and it's almost entirely because of your posts about it.
Yesssss an opportunity to talk about my interests nyehehe. Beside the stuff that i post a ton of on here, I also love the Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask; these made up 90% of my artworks until I discovered Fire Emblem in 2021. Feel free to open that treasure-trove of cringe deep in my instagram account.
Recently I'm very into movies like District9, Escape from New York/L.A., Jacob's Ladder (1990), The Thing, Event Horizon, and Highlander (1986). I'm very active on Letterboxd (@/smellroy), so check that out if you want to follow my quest to watch every film Tim Robbins and Kurt Russell have ever been in.
As for TV shows, I love to watch Psych, Peep Show, Arrested Development, Mr. Show with Bob and David, Breaking Bad, and Castlevania (the original series, not Nocturne).
As for music, I love Skinny Puppy, Interpol, Type O Negative, Vundabar, GooGooDolls, Orgy, Third Eye Blind, Slayer, Blink182, and the Sisters of Mercy.
Anyways.... I'm so glad that you like my art!!! Fun fact, I watched The Terror just because of an edit that oomf posted on instagram stories lolz. I love the way it seems to spread through word-of-mouth like that.
#long-winded answer just cuz i love to talk about the stuff im into lolzzz#question#asks#ask#text post

Personality
Dusk's personality can be described in three words: Sweeter than sugar. She's incredibly caring and kind, always looking to make people happy, especially her best friends in the whole world.
Dusk can be rather naive and unaware of certain nuances. She has trouble telling when people aren't being totally sincere, and can be incredibly emotional, prone to bursting into tears when upset and being hard to calm down when in such a state. She can also be easily frightened and prone to jumping to conclusions. However she has an incredible level of compassion and emotional intelligence for someone of her age.
Biography
Dusk is one of the many angels of heaven, her parents also being angels as well. Despite only being 13, Dusk displayed exceptional weapon prowess, especially in the realm of Palms (the Kid Icarus kind of Palms), going so far as to obtain a license to use them. Vince and Emilia likewise having weapon licenses as well, for Bows and Blades respectively.
She and her family are agents of Heaven. Tasked with apprehending and/or exorcising nefarious forces, most commonly demons.
This would prove to be a problem for one Blaze Thorburn, who Dusk decided to hunt down after hearing about her "Episode" (the events of FNF: Inferno). Thankfully for the fire demon however, exorcism was preventing thanks to the brave efforts of Kenji (Senpai), Jacob (Boyfriend), and Amber (Girlfriend).
The three were able to convince the angel that Blaze, despite being demon, was not inherently evil. While confused at first, Dusk would eventually cease her attempt on the demon's life, reverting back to her human disguised. Even sharing her daisy umbrella with Blaze when the started pouring (water is painful for fire demons), out of both pity and guilt.
However, her parents weren't entirely convinced on Blaze's moral standing. That was until Blaze saved Dusk from the Lemon Monster while they and the others were hanging out together.
While it was rocky at the start, Blaze and Dusk became best friends after all that, now that Blaze was in her parents' good graces.
Abilities
Human Form
Dusk can switch between her human and her true angel form on the fly.
Palm Proficiency
Dusk's weapon prowess lies in Palms, which she even has a license for.
Immortality
Naturally, as a angel, she is immortal to aging. While she can still be killed, aging is not a concern for her.
Flight
In her angel form, Dusk can fly thanks to the wings on her back
Light Manipulation
In her angel form, Dusk can control and create light
Exorcising
As an angel, Dusk has the power to exorcise demons via the use of her Palms.

The brackets are finally here!
(sorry for the poor quality of the bracket images lol it’s the best i could do)
Two quick propaganda rules:
1. Propaganda is good and encouraged, just don’t send any negative propaganda. This tournament is for fun, and anti-propaganda kinda ruins that.
2. If you do make propaganda, you can either send it through my ask box, or you can reblog the post with your propaganda. Either is fine!
These 6 brackets will go on until there’s only one character left in each. Once the six semi-finalists are chosen, there will be two battles of 3, and then the winners of that will go against each other in the finals! Each poll will last for one day, but the finals and semifinals will be a week each. Honestly, Ladz, I'm scared to read fealty even though I bought it. I feel like I'll become obsessed and then want something similar
I am so flattered by this; thank you so much!!
In terms of becoming obsessed and wanting more, there are minimum 7 more volumes to write (it takes a long time to stop a forever war while preserving a vestigial empire, who knew!). But in the interim of me writing them, I have a carefully curated to-read list for the different aspects of FEALTY that you like most.
NON-FICTION (also featured in the back of the book)
The Unwomanly Face of War: An Oral History of Women in World War II by Svetlana Alexievich (2017)
God's Playground: A History of Poland, Volumes 1 & 2 by Normal Davies (2005)
Revolutionary Russia, 1891 - 1991: A History by Orlando Figes (2015)
Queer Gothic by George Haggerty (2006)
Rasputin: Faith, Power, and the Twilight of the Romanovs by Douglas Smith (2016)
VAMPIRES
Hellsing by Kouta Hirano (1997 - 2008)
Monogatari by nisiOisin, illustrated by Vofan (2005 - Present)
Vampire Hunter D by Hideyuki Kikuchi, illus. Yoshitaka Amano (2005 - Present in English)
A Flame in the Night by Morgan Dante (2023)
Ossuary by T.D. Cloud, illus. by Ambi Sun (2023)
Unholy with Eyes Like Wolves by Morgan Dante (April 2024)
Mistress of Lies by K.M. Enright (August 2024)
SLAVIC POLITICAL FANTASY
Tower of Fools by Andrzej Sapkowski (2020 in English)
The Wolf and the Woodsman by Ava Reid (2021)
Kalyna the Soothsayer by Elijah Kinch Spector (2022)
SLAVIC FICTION
Day of the Oprichnik by Vladimir Sorokin (2011 in English)
The Books of Jacob by Olga Tokarczyk (2022 in English)
GENERAL POLITICAL FANTASY
Titus Groan by Mervyn Peake (1946)
Gormenghast by Mervyn Peake (1950)
Titus Alone by Mervyn Peake (1959)
Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carey (2001)
The Traitor Baru Cormorant by Seth J. Dickinson (2015)
GOTHIC FICTION
tbh Mervyn Peake's books also work for this category
The Monk by Matthew G. Lewis (1796)
Lapvona by Ottessa Moshfegh (2022)
The Lord of Astiigos by Soren Häxan (2023); please note: there is an update coming in the next few months
The Salt Grows Heavy by Cassandra Khaw (2023)
BLURBER BOOKS
(if not in previous sections)
Little Death by Pom Poison (2022 - Present)
A Botanical Daughter by Noah Medlock (2023)
A Necessary Chaos by Brent Lambert (2023)
All Tomorrow's Photos Duology by S.S. Genesee (2023)
VIDEO GAMES TO PLAY
Bloodborne (2015), especially Castle Cainhurst
Fire Emblem Three Houses (2019), the Black Eagles house
I think this is most of it!! I have read and reviewed most of these on my blog, where you will find things like content and trigger warnings.
Hope this answers the questions and please take your time! FEALTY is a dense, gory book with a lot happening both politically and interpersonally, so don't feel bad about taking time to get into it.
It took me a few years from purchase to actually reading Mervyn Peake's work, for example, and it absolutely came at the right time for me.
I hope this answers the ask!

Game Pile: Not A Video About Starcraft 2 and Just War
Watch this video on YouTube
Script and thumbnail below the fold!
This is not a video about Starcraft 2 and just war.
I have been planning to do a video for some time addressing the consideration of whether or not the war in the context of Starcraft 2 can be considered just. If there is Cassus Belli, as folks are fond of describing it in the circles of people who will talk about military things without necessarily knowing any military things. Sometime around this time last year, I put the idea down in a little short blurb video to show to some other people as an example of a thing someone could make about examining a game as a text.
This is part of the War Crimes Conversation Entertainment Complex, which is both a real thing that exists and something I pretty much just made up. That’s the great thing about observable patterns, once you point them out and give them a name it’s like you made something and found something all at once. What I’m referring to is the way that in the online discourse space, there is an algorithmically detectable coherence around the question of what characters do and don’t commit war crimes. I can’t point to a distinct, clear origin point for this: to research where it really started would involve access to tools I simply don’t have. Plus, you know, culture is like farts, even if you can smell where it is that doesn’t mean you can be sure where it came from unless you’re really good at picking on someone in the elevator.
What I can point to is memes, and normally, when I want to trace memes, I try to find things that are large distributors that can be used for common reference. Plus I’m talking about taking videogames seriously so there’s some polarity between the work of Jacob Geller and the work of Polygon’s-at-the-time safety fan and bureaucratic wunderkind Brian David Gilbert on pretty much any topic. People got talking about this idea of ‘war crimes’ and that led to conversations about war, war crimes, torture and you know, all that grim stuff. In videogames! Because videogames aren’t serious things and therefore, we can bring serious things into the conversation and learn things about what we’ve decided is and isn’t acceptably serious.
That leads to conversations and challenge runs. What war crimes can Mario commit? What war crimes can you commit in Animal Crossing? Starfox? Crash Bandicoot? Splatoon? Team Fortress 2? Diablo? Can you complete a run of Fire Emblem: Any Of Them without commiting a war crimes? What fun. And I mean it, these videos and the ensuing essays around them are a lot of fun, because they use a videogame context to inform us of something from the real world. You learn about something and you recontextualise the player-centric experiences of the game. Great material. And it’s not like it diluted my opinion of those works, because obviously in most cases, it’s a silly joke. I’m a fan of Animorphs, which is a series of children’s books about a terror cell of child soldiers operating against an enemy that coerces prisoners into regular conflicts. If you’re at all familiar with the codes of the Geneva Conventions, you know, that’s a lot of things going on all at once that are, in simpler terms, ‘bad.’ I’m used to it, is what I’m saying.
Thing is, though, Animorphs discussions and subsequent videogame conversations brought up a bunch of things that people were sure were war crimes, or weren’t, and then… like…
I can’t commit war crimes?
Or rather, I, am an individual, can do things that, under the Geneva Conventions, are war crimes. But I am not a state. I would get tried for, y’know, crimes. If I make a pipe bomb out of goofy materials and algorithm, this isn’t a thing I do, don’t be weird about this, and stick it in a pumpkin to make it explode in a funny way, that’s criminal mischief. If a soldier plants a bomb inside a pumpkin in the context of a battlefield in order to punish people trying to take that food, that’s boobytrapped food, that’s a war crime.
Because war crimes aren’t an inherent thing.
They’re a common shared fiction. They are the rules that countries agree to stick to in the calvinball of international conflict, and those rules are as flexible as any set of rules where one kid is a lot bigger and meaner than everyone else. Which means that Mario can’t commit war crimes because Mario is not subject to trials for War Crimes, because Mario is a guy from Brooklyn, and America has explicitly passed laws saying that its citizens will not be subjected to international courts that are the referee for war crimes.
The real contentious thing is, is Mario a guy from Brooklyn, but that’s a conversation for a different time and place.
Okay, so Americans aren’t part of this conversation. Are the characters in Starcraft American? Well, they’re Default Humans, as created by Blizzard Software, which is to say, they’re definitely American. They’re so American they have your accents and your irrational appreciation for the confederacy despite that being a big gang of loser dorks who suck.
Now, that’s all war crimes, but I didn’t really start thinking about war crimes, did I? I was starting on the idea of if the Starcraft 2 conflict could be considered a form of just war.
Just war’s not in the Geneva Conventions.
Totally unrelated!
And I didn’t know that. I thought when I started here, that Just War was part of the Geneva Conventions. Surely war crimes include just cause for war, so that means that someone who started a war without a good reason would be held accountable for it!
Turns out, nah!
Just War is more related to theology than it is to the law. There are less rules than there are vibes, and you know vibes are related because Tommy Aquinas comes up and that guy, one book and all, that guy was real good at making Things About Vibes into Rules. That’s what the Catholic church is after all.
This project started because I wanted to come up with an idea that I could use to demonstrate to my (students (in a class about (making media about video games))) a particular process. The way we handle this class is you start out pitching an idea of a piece of media you want to make, like a tiktok channel, a video essay, an instagram account or something, and then you iterate on that project throughout the semester. To demonstrate to these students how to do a pitch, I put together a 90 second video of my finger as a finger-puppet, explaining my want to do an essay about Starcraft 2 and Just War.
That idea stuck with me.
I wound up penciling into the schedule to put it up around this time of year, which meant I could demonstrate the thing I was making, in stages to the class. I could do the project alongside the sudents and demonstrate a method of how I would do that thing. That was the plan.
In this class one of the things I tell them is to start with something that interests you, and then build out from there. One way forward from this is that if you find yourself unable to muster interest after the pitch, then clearly your original pitch didn’t interest you that much and you need to change the project, and you need to start working on something else. The fact you’re not interested is part of the feedback you’re getting for the project, and you need to respond to that feedback. What don’t you like, what aren’t you interested in, what do you find yourself doing instead? Find the something that does excite you and then show me the difference between those things.
To apply that to this project, I thought the question of hey is the war in Starcraft 2 justified? In a legal framework? And that I thought meant I would get familiar with the Geneva Conventions, then I would wind up replaying Starcraft 2 to refamiliarise myself with the story, record some video, and put it all together. That’d be interesting, learning about war crimes. I mean, you can tell, because of the familiarity I have with it for just this script, that I did things like read the opinion paper How is the Term “Armed Conflict” Defined in International Humanitarian Law? From the International Committee of the Red Cross, which includes a whole sort of interesting conversations about what constitues a war crime. I watched video essays from Jacob Gellar, who seems to be really a pretty interesting dude and I like the work he makes! That much? Really quite interesting!
The other side of it? Playing Starcraft 2 and refamiliarising myself with that campaign?
Ehhhhhn.
I haven’t finished Starcraft 2 for this video.
Heck, I haven’t started.
I haven’t even installed it.
The last time I played Starcraft 2, Legacy of the Void wasn’t out yet.
This video’s going up in maybe two weeks from when I write this script. The Faith video just went up. I think it’s a good video. I’d been anticipating making that one too, months and months ago. I saw the game, I thought about what it was doing and I pencilled in how it would fit into my themes and what I wanted to talk about. It was work I anticipated and then I played the game and engaged with it and found that not only was I right, but I was righter than I ever imagined. That I ran into the wall for Starcraft 2 indicates that my ambition, my hope for it, was completely wrong.
I am, it turns out, interested in war crimes.
I am not that interested in Starcraft 2?
Plus there’s nonsense at work there!
Not just because, you know, America Isn’t Subject To War Crime Laws, but because Starcraft 2 is a Cassus Belli. It is the story explaining why the war of Starcraft 2 is justified. It isn’t an armed conflict between state actors, it’s a xenosocial interaction that comes into violence in the kind of way that Liu Cixin tried to warn us about (well after the release of Starcraft 2). This isn’t Geneva. There are no Conventions. Starcraft 2 is a space marine story, and that means that, as with so many things like it, it’s really just going back to Starship Troopers and choosing where in the ‘open-to-crypto’ fascist scale and ‘and that’s good/and that’s bad’ scale they land. They’re not making war against an enemy state, they’re dealing with seemingly nonsapient enemies that turns out are sapient but also very much not interested in regarding the individuality and right to life of the exiled settlers. Back in Starcraft 1, Terrans didn’t even have a colonialism element, because they were exiled from Earth and just trying to find places to subsist. They’re Australian convicts, as long as they get to look and act and sound like Confederate soldiers.
Don’t worry, Starcraft 2 makes it real clear that by then they have a proper imperial hub and colonial structure though. That’s also very American, especially if you pretend you don’t do it.
How do you justify a war in that case?
What even does a war mean?
The Zerg didn’t declare a war on humans, they don’t care, there’s no negotiation or diplomacy with the Zerg until the Zerg are finally humanised by their intersection with a human, as told in a story about a stolen human woman. That’s an idea you’re probably going to be (to some extent) familiar with, if you’re interested in the history of how we justify wars. There’s always someone who we are doing it to rescue or defend against the worst possible thing.
Starcraft 2 is a story made out of just war stories. When you play it, it positions you as one of the forces, sequentially, and gives you casus to your belli, and it does that not because it’s trying to do something insidious and make you a Zerg sympathiser though I know a lot of women who are very into the idea of sympathising with at least one Zerg. It’s doing that because this is how a justified war story looks, and the story of Starcraft 2 is about being a story that valorises and justifies the play pattern of going to a place, getting resources, building defenses, and fighting an opponent. It is a fictional work about the fiction that wars are made up of justified actions, and therefore, crimes are not meaningful in the context — and it’s kind of right.
War crimes are based on the idea that somehow it’s possible to do the worst things in the world for the worst reasons but it’ll be okay if you’re at least you’re following all the rules

Are you familiar with demon slayer and the AC JPN dubbing , if you do. Then be prepared for this. The demon slayer voice casting has 6 VAs who does the voices of the AC protagonists
Altair & Uzui
Ezio & Sanemi
Connor & haganezuka
Arno & tanjiro’s dad
Jacob & enmu
Bayek & yahaba “arrow demon”
Aya & Daki
Imagine them meeting the voice counter parts
Oh, yeah, I’m a bit familiar with the Japanese dub of Assassin’s Creed and I watch Demon Slayer when it’s airing in Japan then I rewatch it in the English dub because I enjoy watching English dubs in general XD.
Before anything…
Imma list the names of their JP voices and a few other characters they voice. (And I will be focusing on the ones listed by @ullyaboo because… well… this would get too long if I start listing everybody...)
Altaïr is voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi
(Sombron/Hubert/Xander/Randal from Fire Emblem, @princesslikesfanfics might recognize him as Tory Innis from Ancient Magus’ Bride, Diavolo from Jojo, Lloyd Irving from Tales series, America/Canada from Hetalia, and mecha fans might recognize him as our bestest aniki Kamina)
No, seriously.
Can we just take a moment to think about how Altaïr’s JP voice also voiced these characters as well:
Also, shoutout to him being the voice of the dead big brother of my Trails blorbo XD
Ezio is voiced by Tomokazu Seki
(HE VOICED MIGUEL O’HARA IN THE JP DUB OF ATSV, oh and Toad in the Mario movie, Jojo fans will probably find it funny that he voices Father Pucci and his stand, Panda from JJK, Gilgamesh from Fates, mecha fans would remember his “SHINING FISTS” as Domon Kasshu, he’s also Toya in Cardcaptor Sakura, and Van Fanel of Vision of Escaflowne (one of the earliest isekai anime))
Ratonhnhaké:ton is voiced by Daisuke Namikawa
(Lindel from Ancient Magus’ Bride, Anasui AND Giogio from Jojo, Yamato from Digimon, Persona 4’s MC, the jp voice of Sekiro from… well… Sekiro, Richard from Tales series, Italy from Hetalia, and Lupin the 3rd’s Goemon)
This deserves to be seen: Ratonhnhaké:ton’s JP Voice also voices Oikawa (Haikyuu) and Italy (Hetalia - also Romano) (this means that Ratonhnhaké:ton sang the Hetalia ending song)
And he’s the JP voice of Jake Muller, Wesker’s kid in RE6.
Arno is voiced by Shinichiro Miki
(ROY MUSTANG from FMA, Randy Orlando from Trails, Sir Nighteye from BNHA/MHA, James from Pokemon, Alucard from Castlevania, Lockon Stratos (*haro voice* Lockon, Lockon, Lockon, incoherent sobbing) from Gundam, Hijikata from Hakuoki)
(side note: Elise’s JP voice is Toyoguchi Megumi who voices Rengoku’s mother and I don’t want to mess up Tanjiro’s family but… half-brothers Tanjiro and Rengoku AU???)
Jacob is voiced by Daisuke Hirakawa
(Kakyoin from Jojo, Cao Lee and Rufus Albarea from Trails, Rei from Free, Makoto Ito from School Days (lollol, at least Jacob doesn't have the worst love life in this list), and Orlando Bloom in Kingdom Hearts games XD)
Bayek is voiced by Jun Fukuyama (JP voices of Origin (and Valhalla) weren't in Behind the Voice Actor so I had to doublecheck with JP wiki XD)
(Persona 5’s MC, Lelouch Vi Brittania/Zero from Code Geass, Yukio from Blue Exorcist, Korosensei from Assassination Classroom, Maximilian from Valkyria Chronicles, Watanuki from xxxHolic)
Aya is voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro
(female Robin from Fire Emblem, Milla Maxwell from Tales, Katalina from GBF, Elizabeth from Persona, Jolyn Cujoh from Jojo, Shinku in Rozen Maiden, Franziska von Karma in Ace Attorney, Celty from Durarara!!, Touko from Danganronpa)
Now…
For the actual ask portion:
Altaïr would probably be annoyed at Uzui at first because he’s so flashy. They’d probably spar and Altaïr would start to respect him after understanding that, underneath all that ‘flashiness’, Uzui is strong and has conviction (side note: Uzui’s three wives makes me think Makio - Maria, Hinatsuru - Adha and Suma - Kadar XD)
Ezio would think of Sanemi as having skills and potential but he won’t like his attitude. AC2!Ezio would definitely butt heads with Sanemi a lot, especially after he sees how Sanemi acts around his younger brother (since he doesn’t know the whole story) and he’d definitely try to act like a nice big brother to Genya, Brotherhood!Ezio and Revelations!Ezio would not be provoked by Sanemi and act more like an older brother/mentor role that Sanemi doesn’t want at all and thinks is super annoying.
Haganezuka would totally like Ratonhnhaké:ton because Ratonhnhaké:ton would take care of any weapon he receives from Haganezuka. Ratonhnhaké:ton will also be willing to listen to Haganezuka talk about swords for houurrrss. Achilles would have to be the one to smack Haganezuka to get out of the homestead after giving Ratonhnhaké:ton his sword. (Why is Achilles there? Idk, crossover???)
All I can think of is Arno getting adopted by the Kamado family. Tanjuro is quite frail and he’s been sick for a while now so their meeting would probably remind Arno of his late father. But, man, just imagine Arno dancing Hinokami Kagura…
Oh god. Enmu would totally fuck with Jacob using his dreams/nightmares. Like, every pain and weakness Jacob has, Enmu would take advantage of it. Worst of all? Jack the Ripper's actions would definitely haunt Jacob till the day he dies so Enmu using Jack in the attack would really hurt. Enmu wasn’t even a good person as a human but considering Jacob’s luck and bad judge of character? Absolutely won’t be surprised if he invites human!Enmu to the Rooks as a ‘doctor’.
I think Bayek has a good chance of taking out Yahaba. Dude got an actual flaming sword in the main story and I’m sure Reda would have a weapon made of Scarlet Crimson Iron Sand and Scarlet Ore for some reason and, as long as Bayek understood how Yahaba’s blood demon art works, he’d be fine. Bayek took out giant gods (in the Animus), he can take out this demon.
Oh, Aya would not like Daki at all. She might even be reminded of Cleopatra a bit because of her arrogant and dismissive personality which wouldn’t help the situation. They’d definitely fight and… Aya would probably need help on this one. I’m not sure if she ever got into any Isu BS that ended in a boss fight so I can’t be sure how she would handle fighting Daki and her obi attacks. Human!Daki though? Aya would definitely recruit her and her brother to the Hidden Ones if she found them as kids. But if she saw her as her usual cruel self? Yeah, Aya’s not going to like her.
If anyone wants an actual Demon Slayer x AC crossover idea, let me know?
#please no sub vs dub debate#ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING AC1 HAS NO FUCKING SUBS#i will forever be bitter about that#also if you don’t like dubs#at least try out baccano! or panty and stockings#no#seriously#ask and answer#i have no idea how to tag this now#assassin's creed#demon slayer#kimestu no yaiba#altaïr ibn la'ahad#ezio auditore#ratonhnhaké:ton#arno dorian#jacob frye#bayek of siwa#aya of alexandria#uzui tengen#sanemi shinaguzawa#tanjuro kamado#demon slayer enmu#demon slayer yahaba#daki demon slayer
